lord's done for me i'm thankful that he saved me again on youth camp and last sunday he sanctified me um it was powerful um i was praying and i was one i was kind of doubting that he would do at the time but i just needed to let go of that and i just needed to let him do the work and i did and i'm very thankful he did that for me please pray for me more i want to thank the lord for recent blessings um it was a couple of months ago i guess i woke up in the morning and my shoulder was out of place and uh i thought well things happen it'll get better i'll just wait and a week went by and it didn't get better and i thought well there's so many troubles in the world i'm not going to worry the lord about this it'll go away and i i tried pushing and pulling on it and about a month went by and i could only use my arm in front i couldn't raise it or move it to the side or to the back and it was pretty painful and one day i was just miserable and i said lord help me and right then i heard a little pop and my shoulder was back in place and i want to give the lord the glory for that i also want to thank the lord that during 2020 two of my granddaughters got saved i'm thankful for that and also lately what i've been thinking about is i've been praying for family members to get saved and it seems like we pray day after day year after year and it seems like sometimes things aren't moving and you wonder if the lord is is he working and the lord so i got a little bit discouraged and the lord reminded me that he hears every prayer and he every time you pray for somebody he's speaking to that person's heart he reminded me of a time years ago when i was praying for a family member and i said lord this family member has too many people to turn to with all of their troubles and if if you took away all those people all those friends i think this person would turn to you and then i said lord do you even hear these prayers when i just pray for the same people every day okay a couple of weeks went by and this family member came over to dinner dinner was done they left about 10 minutes later they came back to the door i said did you forget something and they said i just don't know what to do i don't know where to turn all of my friends have left me i have problems i don't know who to talk to i said talk to the lord and you know what that person eventually did get saved but the lord brought that to my memory to remind me yes every time you pray for that person i'm going and speaking to their heart i'm working on people even when you don't see it and we hear this from testimonies when people get saved the lord was talking to him i'm thankful that he's faithful [Music] yeah foreign [Music] [Music] i sure have a lot to thank the lord for tonight and just a young girl down in six and burnside i gave my heart to the lord and i promised the lord then that if he'd come into my life i would just i would keep him in my heart and i did all these years i thank the lord that he's been with me through so many years raised a large family and so many things happen but i wanted to tell you about a time after don had passed away and the kids were still there and my son-in-law daryl allred had mowed the lawn for me and realized my mower needed a lot of work on it and being a mechanic that he is he started to work on it and he finally told me he says i just can't get that thing to run it's just shot and so unknown to me he went down to home depot and bought me a new mower and he bought me a one that a little lady could write ruth he said that wouldn't be so hard for me to run and he told me when he left he said now you'd be sure mom that you keep oiling that thing well there's a few weeks after they'd all left i needed to mow again and i remembered what he said and i checked the oil and it was and it was pretty well down and before don had passed away he was he was one took care of all the machines and everything but the lord had a little lesson in store for me on that i looked around in the garage and i couldn't find any oil i looked in the shop and i couldn't find anything but some 10 30 weight i asked dan if that was the right amount and he said yeah and so um but i couldn't find anything except that and i said i don't think that goes anymore i didn't know but i started praying and i was getting really upset and worried because i knew it needed to be done and i thought well i could call any of the guys in church and they'd be happy to come out and help me and do anything but i realized the lord was really working on my heart and i was really concerned so i went out in front of the shop and i was standing there and our neighbor guy went down the road and he's a contractor and one that built our house and and i knew he'd help me well he didn't come back and then come back and i was standing there in the road printing and i heard a voice calling betty and again betty had just called right out and i was just whirled around i couldn't figure out what was going on and here come one of the young guys from church kelly elston riding a motorized bicycle down the highway by my house and saw me standing out there and he come swinging down there and he said he wanted to tell me to pray for him because he was having the same operation on his leg that lori had and he'd talked to lori before about it so i told him i would and he said well i gotta go i got to meet some guys in town i said wait kelly i got a question i said what kind of oil can i put my ovaries i mean my mower and he said well what kind you have and i told him he said that's good that'll work and here i've been fussing about that but the lord was just showing me that he was going to keep me and so many times i've had to go to him in prayer and ask him to help me what to do about things and i realized from that moment on that he was never going to leave me and he would keep me and that's been the best blessing in my heart i want to praise him for all the things he's done for me [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] i want to thank the lord first of all for being here tonight and thank all of you for praying for me i also want to thank the lord for a trial that i had about 10 days ago and it was um i don't know if anyone here has ever had flashbacks and anxiety and depression but the devil knows what's going to hurt you and what's what's going to take you down and so the devil came in and my mind and told me that i wasn't a christian i wasn't saved i didn't have a testimony i wasn't a good mother i wasn't and it just kept going on for quite a while and then three of the christian sisters called me and and talked to me and prayed with me and then i got on my knees and i started to pray and immediately when it happened i said lord i need help and then the calls came in and my son called me and as i was praying i was so exhausted because men it was a flashback of my past it was like pictures of my life only what the devil saw in me and not what the lord had done for me so i kept on praying and i was praying and the lord said are you going to serve me or are you going to turn and i said lord i'll serve you and you said i want you to repeat it out loud so in my bed i just said as loud as i could lord i'll serve you and then all of a sudden i fell asleep and in the night all night long there was a song it was called when the storm passes by but i didn't know that song i didn't know the words i called cheryl polson in the morning i said do you know this song and she said yes i do it's a beautiful song she sent me the words on my phone and i read it and tears came down my eyes because i knew the lord took me through that storm and he brought me through that anxiety and flashback attack and i just praise the lord with all my heart just for being here and i want you to keep praying for my health because i'm having problems getting answers over that but i do thank you all for all the prayers you've done for me and i want to serve the lord with all my heart until i see him in heaven [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] this week i drove by a part of town milwaukee that i haven't been to for uh 23 24 years ago and i thought you know i should thank the lord for a speeding ticket that i got that sounds kind of didn't have a lot of money but a month after i got that speeding ticket i was driving through that same area and today you can go there there's a bunch of signs up there across walks and warnings and a little girl ran out from behind a bus and hit the truck i was driving behind me and it ended up with dualies of my truck on her pelvis and then i didn't know what to do and there was an off-duty police officer right behind the bus that she had run in front of then he told me well she'd back off of her so i backed off her and she woke up and started screaming a couple minutes later a helicopter landed in the field they hauled her off to a hospital and she wasn't supposed to live to the hospital and then she lived and vicki martin was a nurse i think in the in the emergency room and then she wasn't supposed to be able to walk and i i hear now that she can it's been 23 years i haven't seen her heard from her they didn't send me a card say they were praying for me but uh sometimes when things happen you think oh i really can't go through this this is not something i can afford but sometimes the blessings of the lord aren't always obvious and i'm just thankful for them [Music] you said you'd come and share all my sorrows and you said you'd be there for all my tomorrows i came so close to sending you away but just like you promised you came there to stay i just had to pray [Music] i know you are thirsty you won't be denied i felt every teardrop when in darkness you cried [Music] and i strove to remind you that for those tears i died jesus i give you my heart and my soul i know that without god i'd never be whole savior you opened all the right doors and i thank you and praise [Music] take me i'm yours and jesus said come to the water stand by my side i know you are thirsty [Music] i felt every teardrop when in darkness you cried and i strove to remind you that for those years i died take our text this evening from the book of matthew chapter 5 and verse 6 matthew 5 6 blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled the midwest churches were not able to have youth camp this year so they decided that they would have some include youth camp activities uh during midwest camp meeting so during youth camp like even out out here in other youth camps there's always a theme to go along with youth camp they have daily devotions they have uh chapel services so the theme that was chosen uh for the youth camp during midwest this year was the beatitudes and the verse i read is one of the beatitudes so in the afternoons young people had activities but they took time to have a devotional also and then wednesday evening a midwest camp instead of a regular evangelistic service they wanted to have a travel service so the wednesday evening service was the chapel service chapel service is a little bit different than the evangelistic service um well they do different things but it it's all pointing to one direction and that's the outer service afterwards and we were disappointed in the alder service that night the lord was there also and blessed but in the afternoons while the young people are having those activities and their devotional the adults had the same material that uh the young people had and so they had afternoon devotionals and uh looked at the beatitudes so during campus and went on i just kept thinking about this verse uh blessed are they which to hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled we we were watching that uh take place uh in the church services uh the lord was there and well the lord's here tonight also but but there are some people there with hungry hearts they wanted to receive from the lord and we had a wonderful time many victories experiences were received there were there were some that were saved others received the sanctification some received the baptism uh there were some that claimed physical healings but think about a hunger of i can look back over my life i remember a time that i had a hunger i remember time i didn't have a hunger it's better to have a hunger cheryl and i celebrated our 49th anniversary at midwest camp this year the last many years we've celebrated our anniversary at midwest it's a great place to celebrate an anniversary with a lot of friends but as we always look back and talk about when we got married and well we learned a lot along the way and the lord has been good we thank the lord where we're at today that's for sure but uh when we got married [Music] i was saved and had my sanctification and i was satisfied i hate to say that but i was i i i didn't know what the lord had for me i i didn't know what the baptism would do for me i just didn't know what it was or what it would do and so i was just satisfied where i was at i'd read my bible and pray every day and i was married and we were just going along and everything was just fine but i'm thankful the lord knows what we need thankful the lord knows how to get our attention and it was only about eight months after we got married the lord started getting my attention and making me realize that i was missing out on something i i realized there are some things happening and but i just i just didn't have a desire to seek my baptism and so i do remember telling the lord well if you want me to seek my baptism give me a hunger well you you tell the lord that he heard that prayer and and i didn't know really i guess probably what all i was saying i should have been a little wiser but it but it worked and he gave me a hunger he gave me a hunger that i i thought i was missing something there was like a void in my life and and the lord just brought it around and made me realize that i need my baptism and i tonight i'm thankful for that and i prayed and the lord gave me my baptism i remember that night very very well and just think before i came to church it was the month of april or may uh it was a sunday night i do not know what the date was but i remember that night i remember that night very well and what the lord did for me that night he he totally changed my life and the devil was there the devil was fighting the devil was telling me i couldn't get it i i wouldn't get it and but you know why when i defeated the devil when i got myself out of the way and made those consecrations that the lord was requiring for me i received my baptism that night and it's been good ever since it's a good life serving the lord well during camp meeting it was just such a thrill during the altar services see how the lord was blessing uh the spirit of the lord was very present as people are seeking the lord and and one night i was uh there was several uh getting blessings i looked up and over the one side of the chapel there somebody was receiving their baptism and just a little bit later somebody over on the other side was receiving theirs it just is so sweet to see the presence of the lord sweep through that chapel there we were truly blessed but it all came down to a hunger that's what made the difference in the services surprising uh we we tried to keep most of our services to an hour and even at midwest camp we tried to keep them to an hour but uh i was realizing the services were going on that uh people wanting to testify people wanted to thank the lord uh for what he had done for them over the last few months and and we had lines of people wanting to testify and you know i was watching the clock uh i i found it it's like well i don't need to worry about the clock because we were working two hour services but but people were wanting to pray so they weren't they when the service door was they didn't leave they're wanting to pray there was a there was a hunger that had taken place there in those meetings and as as different ones were getting saved i thought about the parable of the prodigal son about the father's love for his son how he was watching for his son to return home several years ago there was a family that i knew that their oldest son left home there was times even it seemed like now it was even months and years that they didn't know where he was at some of the time that he had left and had no interest in coming back home but but i was told that the father every night before he would go to bed he would go out his front door and look in his front yard just by chance his son had come home that's a father's love that's a father's love for his children but the parable of the prodigal son that's a father's love for his son it's over in the 15th chapter of luke after this this chapter starts out [Music] the pair of the lost sheep for the shepherd went out looking for the lost sheep and i'll just read uh the last verse of that it says i say unto you that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth more than over 99 just persons which need no repentance see there's there's a rejoicing in heaven when a sinner comes to the lord then the next parable in this chapter is about uh the woman that lost a piece of silver and she swept her house she lit a candle looking for that and when she found it she she uh rejoiced with with her neighbors then that last verse says likewise i say unto you there is joy in the presence of the of the angels of god over one sinner that repenteth jesus rejoicing in heaven when a soul is saved there's rejoicing here when a sinner is saved we rejoice with them one service during camp meeting i came out of the prayer room ready to go into the service and one of the brothers there was waiting for me he says can we talk and i said well yes and it was time for church to stop but i stopped to talk to him and he says the lord showed me that i'm not saved he says will you pray with me i yes i will and he says okay i'll be at the altar well he had been praying back in the chairs but that night he was on the front row there and that when the altar call was given he went right to the altar to pray there was some rejoicing there that night there were some tears there that night well i thought about the the the father of the prodigal son the son chose one day to leave home he asked his father for his inheritance his father gave it to him no doubt with a very heavy heavy heart not wanting his son to leave home not one to see and waste his inheritance on riotous living but that's what the scriptures say he left and he he spit all that he had on riotous living he lived it up for a short time but when that inheritance was all gone he found himself in a bad place so as a famine came to that country he went down [Music] became a citizen that country and they sent him down to feed the swine you know that young man he hit bottom he was lower than low he was a long ways from what he had at father's house we know that one verse says and when he came to himself when he finally realized where he is at when he could look back to where he had been what he had left when he was at home he thought i'm gonna i'm gonna go home i'm gonna return home i'm gonna he had all figured out what he's gonna tell his father when he arrived back home but what i like about this uh these verses here i'll just read a few of them and when he came to himself he said how many hard servants of my fathers have bred enough and despair and i perish with hunger i will arise and go to my father and will say unto him father i have sinned against heaven and before thee and i am no more worthy to be called thy son make me as one of thy hard servants and he arose and came to his father and this is what i like right here but when he was yet a great way off his father saw him and had compassion and ran and fell in his neck and kissed him see his father was looking for him his father was waiting for the day that his son would come back home i've always just kind of thought or what it might have been like and of course we don't have all the details here i thought maybe maybe there's a long lane uh to that father's house off the main road it says that he saw him when he's yet a great way off so it doesn't tell us how many times a day the father went out look for him i just wonder if maybe every morning when he got up before breakfast maybe he went out looked down the lane maybe looked over the fields if he could see somebody walking down the road maybe after lunch every day before he go back to work he went out and looked just hoping that he would see his son maybe in the evening after dinner he'd go out once again looking just hoping well the day came the day came his father was looking down the road looking down the lane and he saw a son coming you know his father didn't scold him he loved him he didn't ask him what did he do with his inheritance he just welcomed him with open arms that's the father's love that's compassion that's mercy that's grace you know jesus is like the father in this parable that jesus is looking for the lost he's looking for every opportunity to save the loss every church service jesus is looking for the ones that are ensaved in church service hoping longing for some way somehow that individual will step out and come down the altar and pray and give their lives to jesus jesus is looking tonight he's searching tonight this service is going out over the internet jesus knows everyone that is watching and listening to this service right now he knows every one of us right here tonight and he knows what each one of us need is individuals and and the the greatest need is for ones to be saved if there's one here tonight or one watching this service that needs to be saved tonight is your night you can be saved tonight jesus is looking for you tonight he's inviting you to pray tonight what a difference you'll make in your life do when that load of sin is lifted when that conviction is gone when that weight that you've been carrying is gone you'll feel so good when the devil goes out and jesus comes in what a change takes place in a person's life when they're saved well jesus is here tonight he's looking tonight he's reaching out tonight you know he's just waiting for us to respond for whatever it is if you need your sanctification or your baptism if you've been praying about a special need he wants to answer that tonight he wants to answer your prayer tonight and you know what the answers come when we have a hungry heart when we forget about everything else put everything else aside and just reach out to the lord uh with that need with that experience that you may need when you just zero in on that and forget about everything else the lord hear your prayer the lord will answer your prayer tonight it all comes down to hunger and a thirst to receive from the lord but jesus is here tonight the lord answers your prayer tonight you won't be sorry you spent some time praying you won't be sorry that you got a hunger and a stirring in your heart to receive from the lord it'll pay off so i'd like to just close with the question tonight why not tonight why not tonight just ask yourself that question whatever that is on your heart tonight that you need from the lord just ask yourself why not tonight you know on the night i got my baptism i remember someone praying and saying that why not tonight and i asked myself that question why not tonight well you know what i answered that too i had to get myself out of the way i i had to forget about how i thought it might happen to receive my baptism i had to make those consecrations and when i did that i received this this this young man that left father's house when he came home he had it all figured out what he was going to tell his father his father wasn't interested in any of that he just loved him he he just took him back in as a son we're going to sing a song of invitation number 478 we're going to stand and sing but why not tonight [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] yes [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] heavenly father we're so thankful for another opportunity that we have to come before the throne of grace we're thankful for how this entire service has ministered to our hearts we're thankful for jesus that he has come to seek and to save that which was lost we're thankful that as we seek your face lord as we ask for a hunger you're faithful to give it and you will bless and you will fill those that hunger and thirst after your righteousness we ask now that you'd come down meet the need of each heart bless all that have tuned into the service those watching over the webcast meet with them now minister to each need we ask in jesus name amen [Music] so so [Music] do [Music] so [Music] do [Music] so [Music] you
