what's up guys welcome back to the channel it's time for another Legion Go video as we start to ramp up the content here there'll be game testing on the way a full review once I get more time with the device and we see that first round of updates which should be coming soon but I worked on a list of pretty simple um tips that could be helpful for someone new to Lenovo or to the go in general so let's get into it here first thing is entering the BIOS and changing your vram which could be very useful depending on the games you're playing so you want to hold your volume up button and turn your go on with the power button you can let go of the power button but keep holding that volume up until you see the menu pop up here now once that comes up you can let go of that and you'll see normal setup bios Boot and system recovery we'll go ahead and click into BIOS setup then at the bottom right you're going to see a tab that says more settings so we're going to go ahead and click that here for our bios and now we're in here and we can make the changes we're going to go to configuration here at the top left and then down here to Uma frame buffer size which is your dedicated vram in the system I'm running 4GS right now now like my Ally here but we have three four and eight I do hope they add an auto a five and a six in here maybe even a two um we could definitely use those and some games do need a lower setting like Auto so hopefully we'll see that but that's how you go in here and change that then you're going to want to go to exit exit saving changes and then yes and that'll set your new Uma frame buffer size so pretty easy one there to get into now the next one is Legion shortcuts so a simple one but I thought I would highlight it here of course we have our buttons here that take us around to our different menus but if you hold down the legion button and press the left button here on the controller you'll get the full window and list here of all the shortcuts available on the legion go you also get a layout of the system here which is pretty cool you can do things uh like raise the motor vibration up and down on screen keyboard control alt delete function Q to switch through modes screenshots and things like that so it's really useful to learn these and be able to do all these different shortcuts or pull those up anytime and look at them uh really quickly and I haven't had any problems with that that's been one thing that's actually worked pretty smooth on here is being able to bring up and use those different shortcuts and do things easier here on the go so if you're not already familiar you might want to do that now tip number three this is going to be the support and how to update your legion go so if we go into our Quick Settings over here and down to the bottom question mark which is help center user manual and online support in help center you'll find an cool little beginners guide in here that kind of shows you your way around the legion go how to use the different modes and that kind of stuff so if you are new to the go this is actually pretty handy and it might be something you haven't tripped across yet that would be useful to you if you're not familiar with the legion go already or the product haven't seen a lot of videos and you want to kind of learn your way around I thought this was a pretty neat little thing in here now we'll go back over to the Quick Settings again we'll go to user manual so there's a full user manual for the legion go that you could download and view offline or you can click around and view it here while you're online as well and pretty much all the information you would want to find on your Lenovo Legion go you can find in this users guide online as well so all able to be accessed through our menus here on the legion go which is pretty cool so we'll go back into our help again here and the last thing we'll take a look at for this tip is online support and this is where you can go in detect your product and we'll be able to update our Legion go if there are any so this is a page where we have all of our different uh access to all our different drivers warranty status all that we're going to go to drivers and software scan now select drivers or order uh recovery media so you can do an automatic update scan now if you want so we'll click scan now here we'll click Start scan now if you haven't already installed the Lenovo service Bridge it will come up with a popup for that before it continues the scan so you'll click I have read and agreed you'll click continue and then this will probably fail once that happens at the bottom click here for download you're going to download and install Lenovo service Bridge it's really quick go ahead and open file once that's done it's going to automatically switch over and start scanning your Lenovo Legion go for drivers so so we'll just wait for that to happen here and we you'll see the scan take place I'll go ahead and speed us forward a little bit but this is pretty much how they handle the updates for their laptops and stuff as well and you can see here we're now scanning no updates available right now and you can also go and look at the drivers manually here which is useful if you want to go in and check yourself or download individual drivers still waiting on that updated GPU driver from Lenovo here all right so that's how you go in and update all the different things here for your Novo Legion go all except accessible from our Quick Settings menu and our help center something good to know something good to check on every now and then so for tip number four easy TDP change so you can go into performance in your quick settings here and you can change this with quiet balance Custom Performance and all of that here sometimes this makes games come into windows and messes things up when you hit this button to do this so I've just been using the shortcut to change TDP most of the time so you hold the legion uh space button you hit Y and you'll see a a color change at the top for your custom for quiet for balanced and for performance and it'll toggle through those and I find that works a lot better even in game or if I want to change my power settings uh or use my custom it's a lot easier than using the menu and you'll also see those cycle through uh on your screen in the front when you do that as well now as far as custom um TDP and Max performance for your legion go here for tip number five you can go all the way up to 30 Watts on your slider here so that's going to give you the max performance out of your Z1 EXT stream or you could really bring things down if you're trying to save power but performance only takes you up to about 20 watts when you're not plugged in so if you want to push this thing to 25 or 30 and get the better performance out of the chip you're going to want to go in there and use the custom TDP and again you can cycle through and get to that really quickly and see that you're on that see those changes here on your screen so being able to change your TDP easily and set a good custom to get more performance when you want it something you're going to want to do there for your legion go all right tip number six turn off Vera bright in AMD adrenaline software so I'm going to bring up AMD adrenaline here we're going to go into settings and display and you'll see ver bright right here it's almost always default on so I'll hover over here saves Power by adaptively adjusting the display brightness based on image content sometimes this can make my games looks kind of flat or mess with the colors for some reason I don't know I just don't really prefer it uh I don't usually have it on so I TI that off and I just leave that off here for my software so that's just a tip if you want to go in there and do that or if you have any trouble with any color or anything in any your games now for tip number seven change change the display refresh before you go handheld mode before you get away from your power outlet because if you try to change down to 60 HZ you got to plug into a power supply to do this if you're at 144 which I just found to be pretty odd but we'll go ahead and grab our power cord here and plug in and that's going to allow us to change over to our 60 HZ so I just think that's odd if you did want to it's not a big deal but if you did want to come down to 60 from 144 and you left home and you weren't plugging in you just wouldn't be able to do it so we'll go back in here to Quick Settings now if we click on 60 you'll see it'll change over now that we're plugged in so for whatever reason you do got to be plugged into power right now anyway to uh change to 60 if we unplug though and we're not on power you can up to 144 without being plugged in so if you're at 60 you can up to 144 without being plugged in you can't go back down to 60 until you plug into a power supply so just be aware of that before you're done charging and you're on your way if there's anything you want to do with your refresh rate all right guys let's move on to tip number eight the final tip for this video checking your battery charge level when the legion goes off this kind of a pain so you plug it in to charge it your lights are going to come on here in the front for a little bit and then you're going to see a percentage pop up so we'll see 91 here now that's going to go away and then the lights will turn off now nothing else will happen the entire time this charges to let you know its percentage or how far or at least that it's done you'd think they'd use the power lights like in those modes maybe orange for charge white for done or something thing to at least indicate but there's no indicator so nothing makes that pop up if you do want to see your charge level you're going to have to unplug your legion go and plug it back in I'm sure they could easily fix this and add some features here for quality of life but I do find it a little bit annoying so we plug that back in now we'll be at 92 so that's really the only way to check your battery charge rate when your uh Legion go is turned off and you're charging up but anyways guys that's just eight simple tips that may or may not help you out when it comes to your legion go if you're new to the product I'm really having a lot of fun with it here looking forward to a lot more content and maybe some more tips as we get deeper into it all right guys thanks a lot for coming and check out the video as always I really appreciate it and I'll see you guys in the next [Music] one
