Tub of cottage cheese is a great lunch- often have it but ours is lumpier. Most of that is American- a huge gulf in take up of processed and value added foods probably caused by rationing which went on well into the 50βs here. TV dinners didnβt catch on in the same way- but microwave ready meals are still hugely popular. So much so Iβve noticed many younger cooks cannot cook everything from scratch
The meat jello reminds me of George Carlin's meat cake joke. ewww.
I confess I used to drink Sunny D for a couple of years in the nineties, wouldn't even consider it now.
TV dinners out of style? Frozen prepared meals are still there. there's 2 or 3 aisles in every grocery store. Lean quisine, smart one, healthy choice, etc different brand names but all just ATV dinner. Congealed salad only Americans called it that. it's just aspic and you could put anything in an aspic. A pork pie has aspic and I love a pork pie me.
