[Applause] ah i'm so mad 12 points strawberry cheesecake yolk balls that was one of my biggest outfalls before when i gained my weight to my highest point espresso by nespresso that's a mouthful espresso by espresso and i will not order it again hey guys welcome back to my channel it's lauren back with another what i eat in a day video if you're new hey i'm lauren i am a mom on a healthy living lifestyle journey with a goal for losing 150 pounds so far i am 75 plus pounds down using the ww blue plan in combination with calorie counting for a calorie deficit and today i'm taking you guys along my busy day in the life and sharing everything i eat naturally to get started i am having my water this morning i just have regular water today and i'm trying to get a full tumbler in and then i will start making breakfast which i'm really excited to show you guys i have never made this before i am winging it on the fly today but i've been craving like more of i don't know just like a cold breakfast which is so different for me i am such an eggs lover of a person you guys know i love a good savory breakfast a good filling breakfast because some days i just do more of like a snacky lunch kind of situation but i've been just like craving something different i think it's the weather's warming up and i just want to mix it up a bit which is unfortunate because i have like five dozen eggs in my fridge from my cosplay room last week i'm sure i will still eat eggs but today i'm going to try making a yolk bowl which was inspired from a couple girls i follow over on instagram i'll post their handles here um but they do these really fun flavor filled low point yolk bowls which is a combination of greek yogurt and oatmeal but they throw in all these fun mix-ins and flavors sometimes they do protein powder they do different fun toppings like chocolate chips or sprinkles or i don't know and it seems like it'd be something that lila would have a blast making with me and she has kind of a special day today so she is starting ballet tap class today and later this week she has her first gymnastics class and then hopefully we'll get her involved maybe in soccer or something like that in the fall because she loves to run girlfriend is going to be much more of an athlete than i am probably she is still asleep guys i did it i've been working on a goal for waking up earlier every day i do a lot of my youtube editing and social media work at night after i put her down to bed so i stay up pretty late every night and it's been a chore to try to just set things down go to bed at a more decent hour and get up early because i'm actually really productive in the morning and it's quiet everyone else is still asleep um yeah and i just already this morning i woke up threw on some activewear i did do my hair for the day i don't have any makeup on yet i'll get to that maybe later today after breakfast i don't always put on makeup but i feel like i need to maybe step my game up a little bit since i think i'm gonna be seeing people as i drop her off at class today maybe i'll make a friend making mom friends is hard when you don't have kids in school yet and you've moved a few times over the last couple years so anyway i will do something about this in a little while you know i'm almost done with this so let's make some coffee for coffee this morning i'm brewing a double shot of espresso this is the valteso it's a lighter roast espresso um by nespresso that's a mouthful espresso by nespresso i'm brewing a double shot and one in there i'm gonna put this in the fridge to cool down for just a little bit and then we'll build a little drink okay guys hey so i decided to take advantage of lila's sleeping in which is a very rare occasion my child is normally awake by 7 15 every morning and i just got a little bit ready i threw in a little bit of makeup my hair is as good as it's gonna get today it's wash day it's been it's like day three of my hair so i have to i'm gonna shower and blow it out tonight um i usually only blow out my hair like twice a week and then it lasts by day three though it's mom button life well lila is awake now she's for the day i am ready for my coffee i'm just having a double shot of espresso it's been chilling in the fridge for about 30 minutes just while i got up and ready for the day and got lila up i'm going to do one tablespoon of the chobani sweet cream coffee creamer it comes in at only two points for two tablespoons on the ww blue plan as well as just 30 calories per tablespoon so i'm adding that and then i'm just gonna do ice in the cup and top it off with just a touch of plain unsweetened almond milk and yeah that's gonna be my coffee for today now that we have our coffee i have a hungry little monster so let's make those super special whimsical yolk bowls here's everything i need i'm making strawberry cheesecake yolk bowls so it's really fun these yoples basically are three layers it's a base layer made up of some sort of old-fashioned oats usually mixed with unsweetened almond milk that gives you a really low point value you could use another dairy if you want though i'm gonna mix in today some strawberry this is triple berry wellness protein powder by teami um just to add a little bit of flavor to the oats as well as a little boost of protein to them this morning then layer two is going to be greek yogurt and you can do a number of different mix-ins for today's recipe i'm going to use the jell-o sugar-free fat-free pudding mix in the cheesecake flavor that sounds so yummy and then toppings this is where it gets fun and whimsical kids would love doing this you get to use any sort of fruit or nuts or sprinkles chocolate chips graham cracker crumbles peanut butter drizzled on top anything you want these are so fun and whimsical looking at the end i can't wait to show you guys so let's make up my first yeople let's see how this goes so i'm starting off with a half cup of oats and a half cup of almond milk this is plain unsweetened almond milk and then to that i'm also adding just a half scoop of the wellness protein i'm not a huge fan of the triple berry flavor just mixed with water or almond milk i'm weird about flavors of protein powders but i have found that trying this with baking it's really good so mixing this into oats for like a berry oatmeal is really really yummy and you get a little boost of protein in there so i only did about a half scoop just because otherwise i feel that you can taste the texture too much and hey a little bit of protein is always good for filling you up during the day such a filling bowl this is gonna be with the oatmeal and the protein powder and the fruit great breakfast i'm just gonna give this a quick mix if you feel like you need a little bit more moisture which i might need i'm going to just add a little bit of water to this and then we're going to cook it in the microwave like you would with any normal oatmeal all right and now the next step is our finding out that greek yogurt i'm using a third of a cup for each recipe again i'm making um one for my daughter as well so that's two thirds cup but i'll do a third cup into each bowl and i'm just gonna mix in maybe two teaspoons of this cheesecake jello pudding i'm gonna see how it goes i will list out the recipe at the end of this for you guys but i think you get up to an eighth of a package of this for zero points so we're just gonna mix it in until we give some good flavor to our yogurt this is a great way to eat the non-fat plain yogurt if you're not a big fan of like that tang and you don't want to just eat the plain yogurt doing something like a sugar-free fat-free jello pudding mix helps take the edge off that tang and flavors the yogurt without doing another flavored yogurt that is gonna have sugar in it or just up the points you can add so much of this and get a really good flavored yogurt for only one point when you do it this way i wanna say that when you have like non-fat plain even vanilla yogurt i want to say it goes up to like three points for a serving or something like that so it's a good trick i'm just gonna mix that in it's gonna make this nice and thick and you really are gonna get like a cheesecake flavor consistency from it lila has come to check out the progress i told her she could help with the toppings okay so i'm just going in with half of this you just add our layer on see how thick that got from the pudding mix does it smell good what are you sniffing what do you want to add on top of yours are you gonna add some strawberries i want some strawberries and some chocolate tips okay strawberries we can do that is this gonna be strawberry wrinkles oh you wanna have sprinkles too now we're ready for our toppings there you go there's my yolk bowl strawberry cheese cake yo balls guys this looks so good lila loves hers so again the base was oatmeal with almond milk and some berry protein powder then we have layered number two which is the non-fat plain greek yogurt mixed with some of the sugar-free fat-free cheesecake flavor of the jell-o pudding mix fresh strawberries a sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs a sprinkle of heart sprinkles these would be so cute for valentine's day and 11 mini white chocolate chips you could use sugar-free chocolate chips if you wanted this is just what i had on hand i cannot wait to try more variations of these these seem like such a perfect summer treat breakfast delicious and honestly the calories and the points are not that bad for how sweet this is you could eat these as dessert easily and it has fiber and protein and fruit all the good stuff you need to start your day off right chocolate for breakfast are you supposed to have chocolate for breakfast yeah oh okay what do you think is it a thumbs up now that i took the aesthetically pleasing video and picture for you guys i did mix it up it tastes best when you just mix it all together and all of those layers combine i have my third tumbler ready to go i've gotten through two of these so far this morning it's my goal to get about 100 ounces of water in a day that's a rough goal it's not hard and fast but i find that being mindful and having a goal for my water keeps me drinking it more throughout the day and choosing it over other things like more coffee or diet soda but i do drink diet soda and i probably will have one later today but it's helped me really cut back and drink more water having a water goal anyways i'm having that i'm also going to have my probiotic prebiotic this morning this one is gut love from teemi um i do have a discount code if you guys are interested in trying any of the teeny wellness powders this one is so great i really feel like i can have my probiotic prebiotic it helps with bloating and indigestion and your gut health and i don't taste this or have a texture of this at all in my water i just mix this straight into plain cold water you can do it in smoothies um or in other cold beverages like juice but i just prefer mine in water so for my third tumbler of water i went ahead and mixed a scoop of gut love in my water first mixed it all up then added my ice you want to add ice at the end just so it doesn't clump up the powder but getting that probiotic in because i don't think i'm gonna need a snack or anything this morning that yo bowl was so filling all the fiber all the protein my belly is full and happy so we'll see you guys at lunch hey guys it is getting late and we need to get going with lunch so i can get lyla ready for her dance class this afternoon so we're going classic turkey sandwich and an apple one of the things i love about both ww and counting calories for a calorie deficit is there is no off limits restricted food groups you can still eat the way you've always enjoyed eating and what you like to eat you just have to count the points for it so i actually don't eat a turkey sandwich or like a sandwich of any kind with bread very often i am hit and miss on some of the lower point breads i think they have so much air in them they don't have a great texture this bread is so delicious it's like the artisanal style bread um we got i think it's sara lee's artesano that's what it is i got it at costco in a two pack my family loves it and i will eat it as a single piece for toast with avocado toast in the mornings it's three points per piece so that's a lot when you're doing a sandwich you need two pieces of bread but that's what i had home today um if i'm planning on eating sandwiches i will just suck it up and buy the lower point bread but i didn't necessarily have that in my plan i thought i would do wraps but i just wasn't feeling a wrap today i just wanted a sandwich so there you go but i'm doing turkey and lettuce those are both gonna be zero points i'm doing to help keep the cheese down these are the velveeta slices and i found them in sharp cheddar but i got it because i'm going to be making some freezer prep breakfast sandwiches and i thought i would try it on my sandwich today because these are one point per slice as opposed to a regular deli sliced cheese which normally comes in closer to three or four points of slice so that's a lot so anyway i'm gonna do a less point cheese higher point bread zero points for the turkey zero points for the lettuce then i have one tablespoon of reduced fat mayo on here and a zero point apple so i'm keeping it simple we're gonna eat get going and i'll check in with you guys in a little bit it is the afternoon and we are just waiting we are a little bit early for lila's dance class so we're just hanging tight waiting until we can go in are you excited for your first dance class yep little ballet princess over here all right so we have that and then we have to head over to target and go grab a couple things and then i'll figure out dinner when i get home i don't have a firm plan in place so we'll figure out what we're doing when you run into target for dish soap you come out with 120 worth of stuff lilac got our cake pop as a special celebration and mommy sorry it's my husband's car there's you know what i mean husband cars right and i grabbed a sweet cream cold foam from starbucks coffee picked me up sorry the air conditioning is roaring because it's hot today yes i'm in a sweatshirt so it's my own fault but it's because down here in the south everyone's air conditioning inside where we go is blasting so i knew that going to the dance studio going into target i was gonna be freezing cold inside so that's why i'm wearing a sweatshirt in june in georgia so it's a lightweight one though so anyway um but yes i grabbed a sweet cream cold home i kind of panicked to be honest do you guys ever do that do you ever panic at starbucks when it gets to be your turn to order and it's because i wanted the i always messed the name up of it the brown sugar shaken espresso with oat milk beverage here's my own time out it's five points and i know it's five points and that's been my go-to but literally i walked into line and one of the baristas shouted out just so you know we're out of that like she listed off a ton of things they were out of including oatmeal and then my other go-to is just like a you're welcome that was so polite thanks for being polite sweet girl melts my heart um anyway i panicked because i didn't know because it's been a while since i like got anything the other go-to i have in the summer is a light coffee frappuccino it's really mildly sweet it's frozen it's coffee it's delicious but i panicked and i remember having gotten these but this comes in at 12 points for coffee 10 points oh well i guess it's gonna help determine my dinner i gotta go lower point than i was originally thinking i was thinking pasta and now i'm thinking something different this is why i was constantly fighting the problem of drinking my calories before i started with ww and calorie counting it's just so easy for me to drink all of my calories for the day i used to be a regular soda drinker i used to be a starbucks dunkin just coffee on the go all the time queen and i was not ordering talls and grandes like i am now i was ordering ventis and large sodas that were regular all the sugar so much sugar but yeah i that was one of my biggest downfalls before when i gained my weight to my highest point was drinking my calories ugh i'm so mad 12 points i didn't check the points so i got in the car it makes me want to not drink the rest of it but you know what it's life is about balance right so today i'm gonna drink the coffee and i'm gonna enjoy it and i will not order it again this is one of my really easy go-to dinners if i'm out of points for the day like i will be today i think technically i have like nine points left after the coffee but this is a very filling dinner very low point so we're going with some jasmine rice this will be the main source of the points i'm gonna do a half a cup of it i believe it comes in at three points it'll be one point for the teriyaki sauce this is um we meal prep meat in bulk for the month i actually have that coming up in a video we're doing a big freezer meal prep and this is just smoked chicken breast i do separate the breasts from the dark meat so this is breast it's gonna be zero points um i'll probably end up doing about three ounces um for each of us because obviously i'm cooking for my husband as well and then i will attempt to cook some of this for lyla as well but she may have other things supplementing she won't eat everything and then this kirkland stir-fry vegetable blend it came in just a massive bag so easy it's such a nice mix of veggies in here and it's zero points so i'm gonna do a cup of veggies for each of us a half cup of rice and then about three or four ounces of chicken breast and then we do a half a cup of the teriyaki sauce on the chicken and stir-fry all in one pan and then once it's split into two portions i believe this whole meal comes out to four points per serving all right here is my super yummy dinner i tried to show it to you guys it's hard to see the rice underneath but it's just a half cup of rice and then a cup of veggies and about four ounces of chicken i measured it out before i put in the pan because the veggies and chicken are all zero i did measure out the sauce so yeah four points delicious oh and it's so good so simple i love a good four ingredient done dinner also if you guys want the secret to some really creamy delicious rice without using butter use chicken broth i like to use about half chicken broth to half water when i cook my rice initially and it gets really creamy and yummy sprinkle of salt and that's all you need no butter or spray butter added hey guys sorry interesting lighting right now with it being like sunset josh is getting lyla down for bed right now and i just wanted to round out the day with you guys so even after my starbucks panic treat i still have five points left because of that low point go-to dinner all of those things i have in my pantry and freezer all the time it's an easy go-to four ingredients i can make it any night that we just don't know what to make for dinner and we don't want to like splurge sometimes some of your easiest meals are higher in points things like pasta or frozen meals or takeout so it's nice to have a couple staple low point meals that you can make in under 30 minutes for only a few ingredients that you usually have on hand so that's one of my favorite go-to's we really love it it's great for summer even though it's a warm dish it still feels fresh with all those steamed veggies in there and the light sauce so yeah definitely recommend it was super good but i have five points left for the day and in the past i would have said okay i'm gonna leave my points there because i knew i already had that starbucks treat for the day but i have learned of the last few months it has taken me three months to push through a three pound plateau i just kept gaining and losing the same one pound down two pounds up two pounds down three pounds over and over again for three months every week so i was going up and down constantly i have finally pushed through and had a loss a couple weeks in a row i am past that 75 pounds down halfway mark of my goal of 150 pounds and the way i did it in the last few weeks was upping my points and calories every day it seems so counterintuitive but i was realizing by leaving four or five points on my daily points every day and not tapping into my weeklies almost ever i don't think i was eating enough and i was figuring this out while double counting a calorie deficit because i would notice i would get to the end of my day and see you know finally where my points were at and my points may have only been a couple below maybe i was at like 36 37 points out of my 38 points that i have every day but i'd only be at like 1400 calories and for me and where i calculated my calorie deficit at i need to be at at least 1800 calories to be losing two pounds a week so i could even flex up a little bit if i want to be at that more like one to two pound mark i should be really between 1800 and 2000 calories that depending on how active i am that day that's my range that i try to hit between 1800 and 2000 and that's a deficit for me so this is what i've learned the last couple weeks i talk about it more in my june first eight-month weigh-in and update my plan moving forward how i plan to push through those barriers of plateau and how my specific strategy is going to be moving forward for how i'm using points and calories to balance each other out and make sure i'm eating enough to continue my slow and successful weight loss because slow and steady for happy and healthy that is the goal it has taken me 18 months to get where i am now 75 pounds down and i couldn't be happier because i feel like i'm not in a place where if i don't count points or calories for a few days if we were to go on vacation or you know whatever i don't feel like i'm just going to slide off the deep end and totally overdo it and can't control myself around food anymore and that's been how it was in the past when i restricted whole food groups when i restricted calories too far it wouldn't stick around it wouldn't work because i would go right back to eating the same way previously but i have learned so much from doing ww and counting calories especially the last few months doing them both together about how my body is reacting to food and how i nourish it and i'm only going to continue to grow my knowledge of all of that but i feel so much more in control of my eating and i've been so much more satisfied the last couple weeks eating a little bit more and happy knowing that i'm eating more and losing more at the same time all that to say i do have the perfect sweet bite left in my freezer ready to go i'm going to have one of the yaso mint chocolate chip greek yogurt bars they are so delicious they're a great swap out for regular ice cream they come in at five points each on the ww blue plan and run just 100 calories i will have that in just a little bit later tonight i am still full from dinner but i wanted to wrap up the video before i lost all the light
