[Music] [Music] welcome back to another bill biology so today we have an awesome friend of ours came down and I guess what she would call her fastest stock car fun fact I design delivery I get to see this car for the first time right now so I'm really pumped on it too so let's go what's up yeah hi world and John I know you're supposed to ask the questions first but since it's your first time seeing your livery in live in living color what do you think I dig it not gonna lie I've only seen it on a computer screen and a printout so the see in person is special we'll get to that a little bit later let's congratulate you thank you Lia Pritchett driver of this Dodge Mopar drag pack it competes in the factory stock showdown competition in the National Hot Rod Association the NHRA this is the test of the emergency advertisement system December 1st the 3rd annual hoonigan toy drive right here at the donor ground as a group we are helping give back to the local community and this year we partnered up with it's the YMCA so now I've got to deal with little kids with you know the teenagers also because they can sometimes they get left out yeah we got to help everybody 12:00 to 5:00 bring a toy and I don't know what are we doing for the people or we're doing it especially with this I'm hanging out this there's so many things well all of our cars are going to be here so if you if you want to see torques down and try five RWB nova any of your favorite hoonigan vehicles - Ken's and come on by yeah it's time to come see and if you can't actually make it will be live streaming on Twitch and if you want to donate to the kids but you can't make it here to bring a toy here's a GoFundMe link I know I put the link here but it's also in the description yeah so just go down there so either thanks ahead of time for coming or thanks ahead of time for watching on twitch or things ahead of time for donating thank you I'm really stoked on this piece actually because hoonigan has done a wonderful job of showing you guys what we've done this year which was win the World Championship we did a lot of that we won three races this year for Schumacher racing I've got a good friend of mine our crew chief Kevin Helms and the wings back here for questions that I won't be able to answer it's been incredible so this is our opportunity to show you guys an in-depth version of this blue and red drag pack that you've been seeing all year obviously the exterior yeah it's talked about it it's a little bit of a throwback to the 60s era of the muscle car battle basically all the cars were flashy look a little bit different for our side it was make the car look like it's fun because this class is fun and we're fun and you're fun and you know it's kind of like gripping grain when you're driving one of these cars so you have a little bit grain field [Music] so essentially what is factory stock showdown right what is that class yeah let's talk about that big ohi's in Detroit right your big three chevy dodge Ford a drag pack is dodges race car that they make that you can buy and of course we compete against the Cobra jets and COPO Camaros now for the longest time the COPO Camaros and Jets have just annihilated the competition in this class and this is the first year that dodge Mopar and SRT have really stepped the game up and been extremely competitive we were at the first one to break into the seven second zone seven against in a quarter-mile that's fast though for a factory car this is it's not called factory stop just for fun but is fun there are so many specs that you have to run this class is dictated by what factory submits to the NHRA and what is approved and that's what you had to stick with and then we'll get into the different types of variations of tuning of how you can make your own factory car quicker than the other factory cars so what you see here is actually even though it is the 2018 world champion car it is also the very first from the line of drag packs ever in existence this car right here body chassis and a lot of updates underneath it's over ten years old like doesn't even belong in this decade that's a testament to the updates that we've done if you have a challenger SRT 15 hood of course we have kept updated to the fascias all in-between to be up and current one of my favorite things when I have the two-step on that's when our demon halos light up to be similar to the demon in it as well as the as the Hellcat we have that but that that's just one of the switches we'll get to later that when I turn my to step on which is how I leave the line well let's my crew chief Kevin now which Kevin I would like to introduce you to the world of hoon again which is now five-time world champion Wow congratulations high fives awesome thanks for having us we need another one we near the one come on another one nice Kevin here's a four-time world champion instead of stock I drive the racecar Kevin Tunes the racecar and we've a great deal of people behind us to help make it happen so that's why this build biology encompasses both of us it's continued with the outside so we've got pizza cutters on the front we do and of course we aerodynamics is a is a huge play but also keeping the body as stock as possible to what the Challenger is this class is the most congruent most relatable to the cars that I technically are on the street but from a race car standpoint unless it's one that you completely converted from a street car into a race car we we are big fans of Mickey Thompson's for the front runners and as well as the back so as you can see we've got 15-inch Bogart's by four and these four inch little tiny front runners do amazing you they actually look better when they're hanging in the air sometimes they're hanging right about in this area sick when you sees right so have a question it's a drag pack is like a numbered vehicle like they only produce so many or is it just ready to order anyone can get it so there will be a certain number that are produced and I believe her year would be anywhere from the 50 to 60 range this definitely goes back to the time of when it was like race on Sunday sell on Monday the cars look like a car you'd see gets people amped up on it they want to go up by one and go have fun I mean they even come with your own lock and key but I don't know how many race cars also have real working electric windows what yeah what would save that for the inside okay yeah we get to that later but yeah these are side windows we get to be a plexiglass but we have real glass this is real glass so that's one of the specs that you know it's a approved by NHRA and if you let me tell you if you enter in this category and you did not have a glass windshield you will not be competing any more question then yes is it way like 3,300 with drivers at 3350 not even dry we are now 36 75 with driver Wow so after you make a hit you do your burnout you make a hit you pull off to the side of the track you hurry to the scales Car and Driver adds everything after a run needs to be three thousand six hundred and seventy-five pounds that's a lot of weight stop we've got our Bogaerts which 15 inch by tens we do love our Mickey Thompson drag radials 9 inch 9 inch tires like you talked about small tire this is it that small tire race and so one of the most difficult things about this category is we make and we'll see underneath the hood in the around about area of 11 to 1,300 horsepower and getting that amount of horsepower to to 9 inch tires and making them not necessarily stick the tire you want a specific amount of slip and you want forward momentum you want to pop a little bit get that weight off the front move forward one of my favorite things to do is pack a parachute for real really I do but I never really packed this one because I don't pull it that often oh okay because I have such great brakes it's straight pull by wire I mean that's a very manual mouth that's a very manual function that wires do oh yeah there it is let's not forget the the wheelie bars looks like they get used quite a bit actually they do use their chromoly real taillights they do work as as they should okay well it's super dark back here but you basically have your stock trunk so you're gonna see that there is we are not abnormally tugged out yeah obviously no and you're gonna you can see part of our ten-point cage that's right here 216 filter starts and when a fuel cell doesn't carry a lot of fuel you don't need a lot though don't really need a lot know what is up with this if we want to take that off I believe maybe we should have still a little bit of ballast so in that Oh any adventure that we didn't have enough or I didn't have enough to eat the night before or the scales might be a little bit different than the scales before we will actually take Mallory and hammer it and just punch it out of Top Fuel cranks it's one of the heaviest substances make them into bars put those bars in there so Leah let's check out your office real quick [Music] does it have AC that is a legit question people have asked if you roll the windows down yes so Kirkley suits are actually one of our favorites we've had them it was in here before I actually got here and I prefer them and we have your standard five-point belts I do have adjustable Wow that's standard right this is a factory stock car so I like it to be just in the point of my view where they were it is pretty high I can see my Center custom super custom I've got my push-to-talk radio right here basically always say is what Lane we want to choose what line we want to choose and sometimes we play a favorite song and scream in it when we run and the weight and if we have any issues mostly if it's we have any issues we have our stock cluster here my main essentials actually it would just be from our Auto gauge here you know I'm gonna go in a roundabout area and let you know if if the real shift point is before after that cuz I know some of our competitions watching okay where we like to shift the most important thing in this entire race car would be these clusters of switches I won't turn everything on but of course ignition and fuel you crank it over at the start mandatory fan mandatory water and then your two-step member that's where those lights come on and then our extra intercooler that that sucker right there is the lifesaver so these engines need to run I mean we're talking when we start up these blocks are fifty five degrees cold okay and we try to keep as cool as possible here we have our so we have a standard three-speed and you've got your normal third second first reverse and park operate off of a line lock starting a second start second four for the burnout up into third and then of course when you're rolling down the road you start first I call it at your slap speed so the regular procedure for launching you're rolling up there you're looking at the light so the first pre stage the other guy pre stages and at that point you slam on the brake this blue light is gonna turn on there it is that initiates that you got your two-step and it's and it's actuated and throttle them for 100% so your reaction time at this point is then BAE stuff of your left foot and as soon as you see yellow you're off slide your hand right over here waiting for your shift light and or if you feel that you potentially maybe smoke the tires you might want to early shift clambered over - all right it's time to hit third slam in a third at this point you know where the guy is that next to you keep it in the groove the wind might try and take you to Mexico or not it just depends on what the day's like come up in the finish line lift off going to clean neutral turn your two-step and everything else off cuz the finish line hopefully your brakes just work fantastic you don't have to use your parachute then the most important thing though when that's all happening is the wind light that the wind light come on this year it came on a lot hopefully next year if we're gonna have a lot more come on [Music] let's go ahead and good everyone wants to see under the hood okay let's give this I'll give this a one click okay so I mean the hood itself is the actual Challenger SRT hood there's nothing mine is clearancing a little bit JIT I mean small small part but it's still it is still be hood well I mean I Figgis we want to start we have straight direct intake into Isis a Mopar carbon fiber and take into our 2 9 Whipple all right that's a twin screw blower I guess we can start with everything at standard Kevin if you'd like to jump in I'd like to start let's start from the top from the top down yeah so this is a production 354 cubic inch ok is standard boris dander stroke and so we can we can legally go ad over on the bore size okay which were right now we're at sixty over so we're for 130 bore and we're at three for thirteen on the stroke because i give you a little bit of stroke to make sure you can blueprint everything basically this with all the massaging comes in to make a factory thing work really really well that's what it is we call it blue printing yes yet you can over here you packing it with ice and guys singers lots of ice we have ice kings and queens so we'll roll through about 50 pounds of ice per run we run if we're really having to cool her down but now that we have our external cooler so that we have external water coolers ice coolers keep them cold that then we plug in right here and once the cool okay that's when I had cuties up here is like we have ironing out and circulates there's like I said when we when we leave the pay ideal I mean as as cool as possible 50s yeah it's what we like so that I'm assuming the engine has to be in stock placement that has came from the factory okay yes we're limited by NHRA two pulley sizes for the blowers which makes sense because that limits your boost so we're 3 and 1/8 on the top and we're 7 950 on the bottom which are the two that the only true that matter yep and so that limits our booster around the 17 pounds it could be that well it's all affected by weather you know in in better air you get better boost so it's we're limited to with our drag packs some of our competition obviously they have different rules what is submitted by the manufacturer to the NHRA per your car you have to go buy those manufacturer rules it's all top secret stuff we get it it's like one big gigantic race board game yes we do dono pick a card we get it it's very secretive it so it makes the car a winning combination is that you have what you do and your competitors have what they do and that's what makes this a series it is and what's cool about this this class in particulars we're all limited by production specs so like this motor here is is on paper 12 750 static of course when you pile 17 pounds on top it's about 19 so you know we have that we have the cam rule valve rule CC rules lots of rules what are those well you can go to NHRA racer calm and download the engine blueprint physically well painted somewhere in the combat it would be on there as I check that or in the description I'll be fine well then I guess let's get it up in the air up on the lift and check out the suspension because that's kind of what can we even talk about the suspension yes we can okay so good we can have more questions because that's really a lot of it comes down to the suspension [Music] well we got the drag pack car up on the lift as you can see we're gonna talk about all the goodies underneath also on the rear of course all challengers come with independent rear suspensions this is a legal NHRA mod they allow us a fixed four-link suspension in the rear and they have specific bracketry locations for where the bars meet the car that's all drawing drawn out in a blueprint and they check that on a pretty regular basis so that's that's what we got and then they have a separate spring separate shock instead of going to like coil overs trying to keep some stock in it still not that we wouldn't want we want coil overs because then you get rid of some of this mess but maybe the new car will have a when it comes out someday I mean one of the driveshaft and like I said he'll have how many channels there Kevin do you look at typically after a run they'll be 150 there we go see there's not a lot time to go to make those decisions but you see some of our driveshaft sensors and speeds and graphs we are not on always black straight solid surfaces it'll tell tell tell truth so I know earlier we were able to see the peek-a-boos of the wheelie bars that extend out from the back there is an actual science to wheelies we're not wheeling I guess you'd say wheelie bars of course or to keep you from blowing over but that's not the only thing that they do right you put load back on them to help the tire get the particular rotation that you want instead of just completely sticking it there's like a special formula for being able to get just the right amount of lift and sometimes for the if you call it fun just the right amount of wheelie and taking it and ultimately the very last turn of the knobs would be the front shock of how high and how far we want to carry it what is this this is a 4-inch yeah yeah guys take a lot of that thousand thousand torque well we have to transmission here that that is actually a turbo 400 whoa yes and the reason they do that is because nobody makes a 727 complete case for SFI and for safety and turbo for hundreds come they have a complete case so that's why they went with that in the production drag banks this is pretty these are barely even touched for going up and hanging out the ground touches them sometimes yeah that might be a horsepower to right there yeah so let's talk about the front suspension this is where basically a lot of the magic is so basically this is as produced for your street car really none of this is touched too much they did change out the rack and pinion they had to because the blower motor they had to drop it a little bit that's all in the NHRA spec so that's all equal and it's manual there's no power steering it's a manual box instead of a power steering box oh you don't need that anyways no I like to break them anyway it's fine and then you got your sand tough shocks here and spring set up very very dependable very good stuff so this is where bits all your tuning comes in after your here's here's your lower you can yeah set your bump down there with that and then of course you got the screw on the top you can't really you can't mess with your camber or caster you can only really mess with your toe so what comes standard the standard so that's a seven quart pan we usually run seven cores usually usually occasionally if you need a little bit you can take out a little bit there's there's a few hundreds there okay when you're living on the edge yes extra yes well thank you very much for bringing the car by always fun yes [Music] Lia yes we got something for you since you like took the series and you kill it a gold number one a gold number one Oh BRB
