7 Hidden Tesla Features NOBODY Talks About

what's up guys today we're going to be going through our top seven features of this car that we never heard about until we actually got the car yeah there are a bunch of videos out there about cool tesla videos but they almost always talk about the same stuff like the trunk the big screen glass roof handlebars etc but today we're not going to be talking about any of that stuff instead we'll talk about some super low-key features that you probably haven't heard of some of them are going to be practical some are going to be fun let's just dive into it let's do it let's go number one open butthole we found out about this feature we were absolutely dying open butthole apparently if you activate the voice command and say open butthole it'll open up the charging port in the back which is insane it's so funny apparently that's the butthole i really want to know whose idea this was was it some random engineer and the tesla team who thought it'd be funny and did this without anyone knowing or was it like a request from mr elon musk himself i have no idea but this is just so funny to me voice commands can also do a lot of other cool things this is for my rick and morty fans if you say keep summer safe then sentry mode will turn on which is tesla's security feature to continuously monitor your surroundings and notify you of any suspicious activity when you're away from the car number two charging with regular outlets everyone knows that teslas don't run on gas so instead of gas stations you have ev charging stations and supercharger stations but what we didn't realize is that you can actually just plug your car into a regular outlet such as this one over here and this is pretty convenient for us it's free to charge we just plug it in in our apartment garage overnight for a couple days and it's fully charged thanks to this feature we don't really ever have to stop at charging stations unless we're on a road trip or something so we're not only saving money we're saving time and when those road trips do happen the map will show you all the tesla superchargers on your route and it'll usually only take 30 minutes to charge up coming in at number three we've got rainbow road everybody knows about autopilot but if you push down four times on your gear shifter while in autopilot this happens the display road changes from the standard pavement into the rainbow road from that classic mario kart game that we all love and the cowbell song starts playing is this elon musk hint that we're bringing tesla cars into space i honestly wouldn't be surprised i also want to point out the traffic aware cruise control aka tech uses the car's cameras and sensors to modify your speed based on other cars around you so when a car slows down in front of you the tesla will slow down too and if i'm rolling up to a line of cars at a red light i literally don't have to touch a single thing i keep my foot off the pedal the car is going to stop on its own automatically how sweet is that up next feature number four built-in phone chargers what should i call my phone i think i'm just gonna put over here wait it's charging what all right so i don't know if this is something that most people know but for us it was an accidental discovery we just put our phones in this little compartment area right below the dashboard and discover that it was actually charging our phone so that was a nice little surprise yeah we thought we were gonna have to get iphone cables and put them in the car like we did with our old car now we don't have to worry about that and it's really good for just mental clarity don't have to worry about wires keep disconnecting all those hassles all that just out the door it's really nice number five object distances by the inch you've got this nifty little feature that pops up anytime you're getting in or out of a parking spot it'll literally tell you how many inches you are away from objects on every side of the car check this out i don't know about you but my depth perception is really bad especially for the front of the car so this just takes out all the guesswork and makes it super easy yeah i used to hate parallel parking but now it's super easy with this feature yeah if you still can't parallel park with this feature then i think you're just a lost child unfortunately and when you're done with parking you can actually just leave the car and once you do it automatically puts the car into park and turns it off so you don't have to shift gears and change it to park or anything like that feature number six cameras while driving most new cars these days have at least one camera somewhere around the car but check this out teslas have eight and what's pretty sick is that while you're driving you can pull up the rear view camera and watch what's behind you kind of like a rear view mirror on steroids you just click a button and you're fully aware of what's going on two of the cameras also act as your blind spot cameras and they will help notify you whenever you're close to a car on the side all right everyone last but not least number seven sending locations to the tesla map in our old car we used apple carplay so when we went to navigate somewhere all we had to do was type it in our phone on google maps plug it in and then it was on the dashboard tesla's navigation system is a little different it is google maps built into the dashboard which is great but when you want to navigate somewhere you do have to either one use voice command or manually search in a place to navigate to and this could take a while to type on a screen like this well the good news is you can still actually use your phone and send a location to your tesla this is how it would work let's say that i want to navigate over to this trailhead from all trails our favorite hiking app when you press directions you can open in google maps the only issue is it shows up as coordinates how am i going to type this in my tesla or even use a voice command to do this it'll take a while but the good news is you can actually share your directions with the tesla once it's sent over it will automatically sink and open
