6.0 Powerstroke Is Finished!

it's just crazy because here's his burnout marks from when he just left my house a few weeks ago as you've seen we were just at the wake funeral this morning it's just uh it's been tough guys so we're gonna uh you know R.I.P Gunner just a little tribute to him real quick and then we'll get right into this video after your four bolts are taken out peel down this a little bit you can actually pop this right off the little bracket and disconnect it so we're going to send that through the door getting these mirrors taped up gonna go in trim them all up and uh well actually I kind of find it totally pointless to take the lenses out since I already had them out put the wires in you know with the bulbs and whatnot I mean so to me totally pointless so we're going to make sure we tuck it real tight in these seams because all underneath there is obviously not going to be seen anyway just like when people do the mirrors doing them while they're folded is totally pointless because it just hits so you're gonna scuff up the paint anyway so realistically with the mirrors this is my only way to do it I just extended we're going to do the same thing as we did on the cowl so we're gonna just tape everything up real clean tuck our edges same thing with the glass so down we're going to hit it 220 super smooth finish it off 320 make sure it's perfectly smooth no imperfections tack cloth it down adhesion promoter a few coats of Base few coats of clear let them cure and then we'll probably bring them inside for the night just so they sit at least overnight because we do have rain in the forecast so we don't want them sitting out here but uh we're getting closer closer and closer here so I know uh I'm really looking forward to it I just want to see this freaking thing together and finally driving this thing so these mirrors are brand new so they are a little you know oily and whatnot so we're kind of letting the sun uh gas them out as we uh obviously are going to degrease them and wash them down really really really well um you know Degreaser after sanding so pull up all those oils get them all out get the adhesion promoter down base clear should be good to go so girlfriend of the Year here she's prepping the tail lights she's been learning from me a little bit while she's prepping them I'm going to replace this hinge because we don't get many days really during the week to work on the truck so we're gonna replace this hinge with the new one and we're going to get the plastic cowls out in the sun to bake and uh help them speed up curing process a little bit since we have this truck totally ripped apart and uh oh less than a month out from AC still got a lot to paint still got a lot to fix a lot to do so we're moving those who missed the last video here the cows we painted smoothed painted and cleared all painted outside a little dusty but uh absolutely mint so we're super stoked on this the truck's dirtier than hell so it does match when we finish this and polish it all out how's that it's dirty as can be when this thing's mitt and clean it's now going to match right in that area perfectly we're going to detail the engine bay our powder Parts should be done this week so we'll have the truck back up and running so yeah we're looking pretty good we got the cowl in we're gonna have the cowl in engine bay detailed all our gold Parts back from powder coat they'll all be in uh we'll have every single plastic piece smooth and paint matched on the truck this week and uh then it's just reassembly here guys and uh Wicked detail for sure but uh after that we'll pretty much be ready for the show we just gotta service some fluids um replace one of the sensors here that's really it mechanically so we're at the finish line yet so close yet so far we still need the bed rail Plastics we still need the back fender well Plastics back there but always get the truck hopefully running and driving and then obviously in between we will be paint matching stuff and whatnot so we still got to get it tinted still got to get rid of this freaking broken ass visor we just have a lot to do guys those of you who haven't checked out the last video on paint matching our Cal here for the 6-0 uh today we're doing the mirrors but I will link it in the description where you guys can watch or on my channel if I end up forgetting um it'll be on my channel you guys can check it out and uh see everything we've paint matched plastic wise so far showing you guys a little bit in depth of a detail on how to do it right at home now naturally for me I do have um you know some pretty nice spray guns I go to the paint shop I'm doing it as right as I can though I do not have access to the luxuries that maybe some of you guys have like a shop or anything indoors so it's a hit or miss I just basically invested in a good set of paint guns I invest in good paint I do it absolutely as right as I can for doing it outside I'm literally bringing stuff inside to cure overnight I mean it's just getting ridiculous at this point so oh a lot to do hope you guys enjoy the content hope you guys like subscribe all that good stuff and uh we're gonna get going so here's the old one hinge pins got a little bracket inside here's our new one I'm gonna reuse these bolts I think the brackets in there we're going to clean it up this is the part you need which I did include the part number for you guys so you need to swap that if you guys are running an 08 or newer tailgate it's tough to take perfectly brand new mirrors and start hacking on them but that's what you got to do so we're going 220 to 320. by D.A and by hand and then uh we'll put the adhesion promoter down after a wax and grease remover make sure you guys wipe them down real good a couple coats of Base a couple coats of clear well probably more clear than base obviously but that's it just make sure you get it every little angle make sure you tape everything up perfectly she did a perfect job so you should come out pretty nice so we're going to get the sand in here and we'll probably film back when we're painting [Music] thank you everybody in that spaceship they all they want my pole they hold
