we're thankful that we still have the freedom to come together to worship you lord and we just want you to be glorified tonight lord that's why we're here lord this isn't about us lord it's about you we want to glorify you lord by singing praises by opening our hearts to you even this very night lord we know that you can still come in and make a change in every heart every individual life lord you can save those that are unsaved those that are lost in sin this night you can rescue them lord set them free sanctify holy fill with your holy spirit touch physical knees or whatever it may be lord you're a mighty god you're a powerful god mighty to save so we just want to glorify you again tonight and everything that's said and done bless the special the testimony the word of god as it goes forth and we'll give you the praise in jesus precious name we pray amen thank you again for joining us this evening we would like to invite you back again this coming friday at 7 30 for our friday evening evangelistic service and then of course lord willing regular schedule on sunday we'll continue now with our service we have a testimony i've asked my wife to share her testimony and following that we'll have some congregational a congregational song and then for our second testimony i'll read some excerpts from brother alan crabtree's testimony and then before brother bob brings the word of the lord sister emily luca will sing no their word for grace but amazing but before we have rosie come up to testify why don't we sing 2 704 god will make a way it's just a course we'll have brother randy lead us in that course and then rosie will testify [Music] we cannot see [Music] with me and strength i'm glad to stand here tonight and give my testimony when david asked me if i would testify um i said yes but i was i was thinking about it was very nervous and kind of you know how you feel sometimes but when i started rehearsing all the things that the lord has done for me the lord gave me this thought i should have asked him i haven't testified for about a year now so it probably gets harder as you wait longer but i should have asked him if i could testify god has done so many things for me and i am so grateful i don't deserve any of the good things that he's done for me but it started out like others you've heard before i was born my parents were both christians i was born into a christian home when i was born being i was a twin the second one and when i was born i had a lot of there was a lot of trauma and the doctors told my parents i had severe brain damage i was not doing anything a baby's supposed to do couldn't move couldn't cry couldn't eat nothing and my grandma called around to the churches and everyone prayed and the lord healed me and actually my sister and i were seven weeks premature i came home first i my mom said she she didn't know if i was gonna be okay so she would watch us as we learned and i was always a little bit ahead learning to open doors and things like that so my mom thought okay good she's probably gonna be normal but the lord just you know that's how my life started with blessings and my dad was the music director in our church in los angeles and my mom taught sunday school and they both did music in the church and taught me the gospel um like many i i always wanted to serve the lord from the time i don't remember ever not wanting to serve the lord but i do remember vividly a tuesday night getting down at the altar and asking the lord to save me for the longest time i couldn't remember what led up to that you know we hear about repentance and you know how do you know that you're a sinner but i remembered the lord brought it to me what happened i i told a lie and i wasn't good at it my sister called me on it and i i just i wasn't good at it at all and i just i felt so awful and i knew i needed to pray and ask the lord to forgive me and and the lord did that i got down i prayed a simple prayer he saved my soul i felt clean inside and from that day i wanted to serve him i remember a little while later hearing someone testify about sanctification and i i thought maybe i had lost mine because i didn't have it and so i talked to my mom and she said well have you ever been sanctified and i said no so she said we'll pray now and so we prayed in the home there and the lord came down and sanctified me i was too little to understand all of these things but you don't have to understand if you if you're honest and you want the lord he'll he'll come and do those things for you and again just a few years later at youth camp i was so young um seeking my baptism and i remember leading up to that in the night i would i would get scared and i would think what if the lord came and i remember i went to my dad and i said dad i can't sleep i'm afraid the lord's going to come and i don't have my baptism i had just a conviction that i needed it and he said if you're seeking the lord and doing all you can to receive it if the lord comes you'll go and in in the meantime you'll get your baptism you know that's a hungry heart you know and sure enough a few years a few months later at youth camp i did pray and receive my baptism and sister vicky martin told me a couple weeks ago i didn't know this that she was there that year and she witnessed that i was so very young and i remember then in my teens the devil you coming along saying was that real did you really get it you were so little it was so emotional you know but i continued to seek the lord and in my early teens i was closer to the lord than just i just got i got a hunger for his word i wanted to pray all the time it was just a precious time in the lord but also at the same time i got a taste for secular music i had a little radio in my closet and i i turned it on one day i heard a song i just really loved and it was you know just a song on the radio and so every day i go in my closet and try to find music because i love music and i think that was the first time i remember hearing that secular music as opposed to christian music which i heard at church and we heard at home and so it got this this little taste and and i i developed a love for that and so as i got older and you know got chose a career got out of high school and you know things start you get busy and this this sort of i guess it's a love to me i look back i see it was a love for the world but really i just thought it was a love for music because i liked music but the lord would talk to me about it and i would say lord um you made me to love music and so it's only natural that i should love all music and you know so i'm sure you understand but god was really faithful to me and and sometimes i would stop for a while like i would just not i would only listen to christian music and i would feel better so i knew that god was talking to me but one day i was 30 years old so this a lot of years went by i had a little baby a couple months old and i got news that someone i looked up to very much who was a minister had backslidden um been caught in sin and ended confessed to it and i thought i sat on my couch i said lord how could that happen and the lord just spoke to me and said if you don't give me this thing i'm asking for in your life this is a consecration that i'm asking from you if you do not give this to me you won't be saved and and at that moment i saw myself as i would have been had i not been saved as a little girl god had sheltered me he had protected me had kept me from sin he'd been patient with me but he just gave me just a little glimpse of what i could do if i wasn't saved and if he wasn't keeping me and and it i felt like the story in the bible where peter says not my my feet only but my hands and my head i mean i said lord i'm so sorry i i i i all these times i would say lord if i really know you want this thing i'll give it to you but just you know that that day the lord showed me he didn't have to do this but he did to help me to see how important this was if i was going to live a consecrated life i could not have gotten sanctified with any love for the world and the lord showed me that this was defiling me and that i could not he would not be able to keep me if i kept opening this door and i gave it to the lord that day i said lord change my heart i want to love what you love i want to hate what you hate and i really that day i i felt so bad i felt like i would have i i felt like i start over i am that ashamed of of this but the lord just in in mercy he just just blessed my heart right then it was like he just received this this as i gave it to him right then and help me that was when i was 30. four years later when my daughter holly was born she she was born with with problems and they said we don't know what's wrong but she's terribly sick and and we found something on you it's cancer you know i got all this bad news and i remember thinking i'm so glad that i gave that to the lord four years ago because i felt like i could get a prayer through and i needed to be able to get a prayer through i mean we got bad news people talk about 2020 and i know that was a hard year for a lot of people but for me 2003 was a really hard year i mean it was it was like i was going to have a baby it was just going to be great and my dad was driving me she was coming late so we had it all scheduled out my dad was driving me and he said rosie i want to teach you a verse it's in isaiah it says fear thou not for i am with thee be not dismayed for i am thy god i will strengthen thee yea i will help thee yea i will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness and i said oh that's a really neat verse and he's and then he said it again and he said it again he kept quoting it to me he quoted it so many times i started getting nervous i thought why this is about fearing and scary things and i mean yes god's gonna help but but i started getting a little worried well the next day when holly was born they said we don't know what's wrong and just one by one the news was bad and that verse just kept coming back and i just stood on i held to it and i'm so thankful i look back i think see how god prepares you ahead he gives you something to hold on to and i remember when they told me that holly wasn't normal we don't know what's wrong david and i prayed and we we said lord she's yours i mean we wouldn't have a baby if you didn't give her to us and if you want to take her your will be done if you want her to be sick okay and the lord just spoke to me and said if you ask me i'll heal her and i told david and he said well yeah let's do it you know let's ask and so we did we called for the ministers and they prayed and the church prayed and the lord healed her it wasn't overnight it was gradual which i i never really understood but i remember days so it was over a couple of months time that that she was healed completely because she had no strength and she couldn't move but she started gaining strength from the outside of her fingers into her core which i think is backwards maybe from how it should be but see god can do anything and and he healed her completely and i remember days i would i would look and think she looks a little better she looks a little better and i would thank the lord and then some days i think it doesn't look like it's happening but those days i would say lord you gave me a promise and i believe he gave me a choice i could either believe or i could doubt and i chose to believe his promise and he came through he healed her completely that she's she's completely well and we went back to the doctor that had diagnosed her with spinal muscular atrophy type one said she would die by two or three when we took her back and she was sitting up her head was straight she could breathe right and all the things he said the tongue flutter was gone and he said she's she's fine she's healed i guess i was wrong and we said well it was the lord he did it and i'm just so thankful to have the lord in my life and i just have one more little thing i want to share because a couple weeks ago natalie testified about how god healed something on her hand and i had something in my ear that i had had for over six years and and it was a bump and it was sometimes painful i didn't really know what to do about it i thought i don't even know if you can go to the doctor with things like this it wasn't too bad but sometimes it would kind of hurt and i i just didn't know what to do i never told anybody but it was bothering me and i thought about her testimony i said lord i'd really like it if you'd heal this like you healed natalie you know you just she just looked and it was gone and you just healed her completely like that and i'd really like a healing like that and two days later it was completely gone and every time i i mean for days i put my finger in my ear because i was i couldn't believe it i i just couldn't believe that god would do that for me for something so small and insignificant but that's how god is and it gives me faith for the bigger things that i need to pray for we all have them if god would do these little things just to show us he cares just to show us that he hears and answers prayer i know he'll do so much more i just want to thank him for all he's done [Music] i didn't have the privilege of knowing brother allen crabtree but some of the older saints i'm sure remember him but he has quite a testimony so we'll read just a little excerpt of some of his testimony he says years ago while i was a soldier at fort warden washington god called me to repentance i had a ruined character blasted hopes and an appetite for alcohol my heart demanded sin early in life god had spoken to me and caused me to pray my father was a christian but my mother was not one day it seemed that her home was about to be broken up i told god that if he would keep us together i would give him my heart when i became 21 years of age god heard my prayer and spared our home from that awful tragedy i never got away from the promise i made god though my life became one of debauchery my reputation was ruined in the hills of ohio where i lived he'd had trouble with the law those were taken out of school a lot of things happened but he said under my rough exterior was a hunger for god and a fear of going out into eternity i'm prepared to meet him while in the army i reached the age of 21. i knew it was time for me to keep that vow that i had made to god one sunday i went into a mission hall in port townsend there i picked up a bible as i opened it something spoke to my soul go out by yourself and pray so i went into the woods looking for a place to be alone with god i stepped off the trail and knelt beside an old stump that stump was my altar and god was there i meant business as i prayed that day i turned my back on sin and made some deep consecrations i told god i will not leave these woods until i get the witness in my heart that i am saved within minutes i prayed through to victory across the threshold of my life step jesus he made a change in my heart i can never forget i stood up and looked around everything seemed to have gone to rest a holy calmness that settled over my soul because i had made my peace with god the desire for sin had vanished from my life no preacher priest or rabbi was there to tell me what had happened and i didn't need anyone in a moment god had made me a brand new creature and i was back at my army post in time for evening roll call later when i came home we went to the little church my father attended i saw my gray-haired mother benton form coming down the altar after all those years she was coming home she looked at me and cried al pray for me what a night that was my father and mother worshiped the lord together from that day on the best years of their lives were their last ones shortly before my father died he left word for me that he was ready to step over any time the lord called him not long afterward he walked in from the porch sat down and his soul went out to meet his god just before mother left this world she said to those gathered around tell al that i'll tell dad he's coming [Music] red can't explain the beauty [Music] marvelous have convey the grace of the king the only word for grace [Music] there's no other word for [Music] grace [Music] explanation that i sing no other word for grace now the father he looked beyond all the failures i had made he didn't seem to notice all those times [Music] you see he overlooked all the scars of sin i had a need but that grace that grace he showed [Music] no other word for grace but amazing no other explanation [Music] the song that i see [Music] there's no other word for his sweet sweet grace [Music] was i see we'll begin this evening the book of genesis chapter 32 we'll read verses 23 and 24. genesis 32 verse 23 and he took them and sent them over the brook and sent over that he had and jacob was left alone and their wrestling man with him until the breaking of the day these two verses are just a part of several chapters here in genesis concerning the account of isaac and his two sons esau and jacob about 20 years before this jacob deceived his father and stole the family birthright from his older brother esau that's a whole different story or won't go into that this evening but at that time esau threatened to kill jacob so he had to flee for his life and he left his mom and his dad his brother and had to flee into another country now we'll fast forward 20 years 20 years later jacob the lord had blessed him he had family he had cattle he had possessions and it was time for him to return to his homeland and so as he was on his way returning with all his worldly possessions he heard that his brother esau was coming to meet him with 400 men have you ever heard the phrase get your act together or you need to get down to business that would mean to just a few thoughts get focused get serious zero in on your project or need before you or forget all about everything around you and get down to business it was time for jacob to get down to spiritual business he needed help from the lord he needed to get a prayer through he needed to know for sure that the lord was with him to get an answer to your prayer or to receive an experience you need to get down to spiritual business i'm sure every one of us here tonight have experienced that from time to time we get down to spiritual business we need to be willing to do what the lord asks us to do the lord draws consecrations from us we need to be willing to give those to him we need to be willing to yield our life to the lord in his service we need to pay get to that place we just pray it through and i guess that's the thought i had tonight about just jacob needed to pray it through to get an answer from the lord we need to pray it through there may be times and i'm sure there are times where we pray about something or we pray around something i've been there i've done that i've prayed about something and and just went on didn't get real serious about it there's been times where i prayed around something prayed around something when the lord was trying to draw consecrations out of my life and at that point i wasn't willing to just give everything to the lord so i would pray around it but it was always there i get down to pray and there it was and i try to pray around it and it was just there and it was there and i prayed it through but to get an answer from the lord to receive an experience from the lord we need to pray it through we need to surrender our lives fully and completely to the lord i knew a man friend of mine several years ago he wanted to move from the town he was living in to another town and he talked to a minister about it and the minister knew him and so the minister told him he says you need to get three definite answers from the lord to make sure it's the lord's will that you move he didn't tell him just pray about it and get an answer from the lord he says you need three definite answers from the lord well you know the minister knew that young man and just a short time later that that man came back to the minister and says uh i got three answers i'm going to move well the end of the story is that uh it didn't go very well it didn't turn out the way he thought it would turn out and he finally admitted well that's what he wanted to do so he prayed about it but he didn't give it to the lord and it wasn't the lord's will for him to move and he found out a hard lesson also know a young lady that wanted to move to another town to pursue a relationship with a young man and she was advised to pray it through to make sure it was the lord's will she was she was told that uh even when it's the lord's will for us to do do one thing or another that there's still challenges that come along the way there's still trials and tests that come along the way and and and she was told that she needed to pray it through so she could look back and point back to a time where she prayed it through that she knew without a doubt uh the lord was in it and and let her know that it was his will for her to move well sometime we need that in our lives we need to look back we do that when we talk about receiving experiences from the lord we we look back to a time when we were saved when we received our sanctification or received the baptism or or healing like we heard tonight uh those are those are times that we look back to that we remember we we can say when it happened where where we were at the prayer that we prayed well the end of the story of that young lady is that she's still happily married today but she prayed it through and got it settled with the lord before she ever made that move this is more than just praying about what we want to do we need to get self out of the way it's easy to think as the lord's will when it's something we won't do but the lord will let us know if it's his will or not and and and when the lord does that then we know it we prayed through on it and and it's settled in our hearts you know praying about something will not bring the answer it will not bring the answer that that we really need from the lord praying around something would just keep coming around i just told you a time that i wasn't willing to give the lord something he asked for and i went around and around and around i get down to pray and there it was i get up and leave next time i got down to pray there it was well i can tell you i know when i prayed it through i know when it was settled in my heart the lord let me know and when i got to that point and consecrated my life and yielded everything to the lord i knew that and it's been a good way ever since praying through brings victory in our lives praying through uh gives us our answers to our prayers experiences are received uh when we pray through uh it takes something to receive from the lord we as we yield our lives and surrender our lives the lord has to work on us and and uh chip off the rough edges and and smooth us over so we're we're pliable in the lord's hands but when we get to that place how wonderful it is how wonderful it is when we look and know the lord uh has taken control of our lives sometime in testimonies we hear of ones that tell it was right here it was right there so i didn't always use the word pray prayed it through but well we know what they're saying when they say the lord answered prayer the lord gave me that experience i'd been seeking for well what happened they prayed it through and they looked back to that time and brother crabtree's testimony uh i know there's a lot of young people here tonight that did not know brother crabtree but i just thought about his testimony and it was an old tree stump out in the woods where he prayed through he said that was his altar that's what he looked back to that day that that he surrendered his life to the lord years before that he told the lord if we just save our family keep our family together when i turn 21 i'll give you my life i wonder how many times over the years as years came and went but the lord didn't talk to brother crabtree says you don't have to wait until you're 21 you need to surrender your life now we don't know but no doubt there were times after time he did not live a good life he lived a sinful life after that point but when he turned 21 he remembered that vow that he had made to god and he went out and just found a tree stump where he knelt down where he prayed through to salvation and the lord made a change in his life jacob had put his family and everything he had over the brook that night it says he was left alone you know he needed to get an experience from the lord he he needed help from the lord uh he at that point he was up he was up against it he he was heading towards his brother his brother was heading towards him he heard that his brother had 400 men with him i'm sure he looked back to that day where he deceived his father his father questioned him are you sure oh yes yes i i'm esau look back to that time remember what his brother threatened to kill him and now he was heading towards his brother he was his brother was heading towards him he needed to get a prayer through he needed to get it settled in his heart he needed the insurance from the lord that the lord was going to be with him the lord had blessed him the lord had been with him but now he was going to face his brother well he prayed it through he received that blessing that he needed he received that answer the lord changed his name to israel that night things were different after that he prayed through that night to a real experience and he knew the lord was with him he sent uh cattle and possessions ahead of him to give to his brother but when he came to me meet his brother face to face his brother says what what is all this that you said ahead and he says it's for you his brother says i don't want it i have enough and they they embraced each other that was the lord that was the lord because he prayed it through he had it settled in his heart and the lord went before him and and took care of that situation over in the book of matthew the seventh chapter there's a portion of the sermon on the mount that jesus gave and jesus said it like this along the same line ask and shall be given you seek and you shall find knock and shall be opened unto you so what what jesus is saying you have a need you have a request you need an experience it says ask and it shall be given you what a promise what a promise that if you just ask in faith believing you'll get your answer you'll receive that experience seek and you'll find knock and and it will be opened unto you then i like the next verse also it goes right along jesus just really says it again but it's it's it's an encouragement to us he says for everyone that asketh receiveth and he that seeketh findeth and to him that knocketh it shall be opened if you've been praying about something you haven't got an answer yet just pray it through tonight would be a good time to do that just just just look at the example of jacob what he did there he was left alone he forgot about everything else it was just between him and the lord but the answer came and jesus here in the sermon of mine he says ask seek knock and it will be yours so what do you need tonight from the lord have you been seeking an experience from the lord have you been seeking a physical healing you've been looking for an answer to one of your prayers you know you can just have a subtle delight you can just pray it through tonight and just settle it and know the lord give you that experience tonight he'll promise it to you tonight that you will get it the lord is healed here to heal the sick and afflicted tonight or whatever it is the lord is here so we're going to take a time to pray tonight let's stand sing a song number three verse 6 36 and we invite you to come and pray [Music] so so lord we're thankful for one more opportunity to come and pray we're so thankful that lord we don't have to bear these burdens alone lord we were never meant to bear these burdens lord we were never meant to carry that heavy load of sin that the world places on us slow we can cast all of our cares on you lord you promise to be that burden bearer we're so thankful that lord as we come in faith lord we can just look to you lord just get a hold of those promises lord maybe there are those here tonight that have been praying about something for days or weeks or months or even years but lord tonight is the night they could get a hold of you lord they could claim that promise you could drop that victory down in their heart so it just takes a little measure of faith pointed in the right direction looking to you lord we know that god you are the giver of all good things and we just thank you again we pray you bless around these altars meet every need we'll give you the praise in jesus name amen [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] do [Music]
