5 Things I Love About My 2021 Tesla Model Y | Plus New Accessories!

so this is my 2021 tesla model y and i had this car for over a month now so i thought it'd be fun to do a video talking about five things i love about this model wide and the five things i want to talk about today goes beyond the obvious so i'm not going to be talking about the brutal acceleration or even full self driving i'm just going to be talking about five things little things about the model y that i can't live without also i did get some new accessories for my model y so i want to show you what they are and what the end result is like if this is your first time here welcome i have hundreds and hundreds of automotive review videos from all manufacturers on this channel but also i have a lot of dedicated videos based on my model y i have a full review video on the model y also i created a video about how it was like to pick up this model why also one that showcases the entire buying process now if you didn't watch any of those videos make sure you stay until the end of this make sure you subscribe and hit that notification bell let's get started let me first show you the accessories i purchased and installed and then let me get to the five things i love about this model why so the accessories that i installed today are mostly cosmetic stuff however i do believe they make a big impact to the look of my model y here's a shot of the interior before and here's a shot of the interior afterwards can you spot the changes there are some obvious ones but i promise you there are some that are not so obvious the first things i installed are dash and center console covers i chose covers because they are actually the easiest to install and take off and unlike film you don't have to use water or be very careful when aligning now for the dash there is a two piece cover that simulates carbon fiber the finish isn't too shiny i didn't choose a matte black finish i wanted some kind of pop within the dash maybe later on i'll change it something else if i don't like it and of course it installs with 3m tape underneath as for the 3p center console covers i have two sets the first set also simulates carbon fiber but as you can see the finish is very very glossy i can see how this will be just as fingerprint prone and dust prone as the stock black covers plus you can see how it doesn't really match the dash cover because of the high gloss so i decided to go with matte black covers for the center console the matte black covers look like it won't have an issue with fingerprints or dust and it still attaches with 3m tape alright let me show you how this goes on before i peel the tape i actually test fitted the three pieces to see how everything goes and as you can see they fit perfectly now something i'm sure you didn't spot is a strip of led lights i've installed on both sides of the console it's basically invisible in the daytime but makes a big difference at night you simply slide the strip of lights in between the covers on the sides of the center console and leave a little bit of light at the end and then all you have to do is connect the strip to the led lights and plug in to the 12v outlet here's the finished results the lights are coming from within the center console box and they flow to the sides of the newly covered center console and this is what it looks like at night the lights really pop out and you can control the color and how they behave and i think it looks pretty cool next i installed the sport pedals which surprisingly makes a big difference in appearance they simply cover over the existing pedals the accelerator you don't have to remove anything but the brake pedal you do have to remove the large rubber cover take your time with these and make sure you install these correctly you don't want them to fall off while you're driving the last accessory i installed are puddle lights these led lights go underneath the driver and passenger door you simply pop out existing ones and use the given harness and reinstall the end result is pretty amazing in case you're interested i have all these accessories linked in the description of this video and pin to the comments of this video all right now let's talk about the five things i love about the tesla model why let's start out with the keys or lack of keys i should say because with the model y of course you don't have a traditional key fob you simply get these like credit card keys or you can hook up your phone and utilize your phone as a key now for me this is a really really nice feature to have in fact i don't think i can live without this anymore because my wife does drive a honda pilot and i'm always just getting in and i'm like oh shoot i forgot the key fob i have to go in and get it this is a really really nice feature that i've come to love so basically as long as you have your phone you get inside the car the car will detect your phone and it will start up and you can start driving as soon as you get out and leave the tesla will automatically lock for you you don't have to worry about you don't have to fumble with the key fob or anything like that it is really really convenient and if you happen to leave your windows open it will automatically close for you so number one is having a phone act like a key i really really really love this feature and i can't live without it now the second thing is range anxiety and for me i have zero zero range anxiety and that's something that i'm surprised by because i think the number one reason why people don't look at a pure ev car or tesla is range anxiety so i had this tesla model y for over a month now and of course i have not gone to the gas station i plug it in whenever i get home and i just forget about it you could set a schedule you could have your model y charge during specific hours like very very late night or very very early morning that way the electricity cost is actually really really low and you don't have to worry about going to the gas station ever ever and that's something that i really don't miss now with that said i haven't taken a long road trip yet and i do plan on making one next year when things settle down a bit i want to test out the long range capability the super charging right the network i want to see how many people are utilizing it how convenient is it so all that good stuff i do plan on testing for myself next year so make sure you stay tuned for that video as well number three has to be the audio system inside this model y it is really really good it's really crisp and there's plenty of bass mid tones i'm not a audio file by any means but this audio system is phenomenal now inside the model y there's plenty of streaming options you can stream from spotify and there's a built-in library for you to choose from and if you go into settings you can change the tone the balance right where the audio should concentrate on you have options and sources there's just so much that you can configure even if you leave all those settings leave a standard preset it is still very very nice in here if you don't believe me go test drive a tesla blast the music and you'll hear what i'm talking about the audio system is phenomenal number four is over-the-air updates that i receive with this model y every time there's an update there's there's something new it's either a bug fix or a new feature it's like waking up on christmas day you just don't know what you're going to get and it's really really nice now the one update that everyone's looking for is the beta release of fsd a lot more people are starting to get it now and fsd is truly becoming fsd full self driving and i'm waiting for that as well the fifth thing i love about my model y is the one pedal driving basically you don't need to step on the brakes unless it's emergency or you're going a little bit too quick because of the regenerative braking as soon as you let off the accelerator the model y comes to a stop pretty quickly so in almost every situation when you're driving around town especially stop and go traffic you really don't need to press on the brakes it's actually really really nice regenerative braking it comes to a stop so fast and as soon as it stops the brake hold engages and you never have to step on the brake pedal it's really really nice so when i drive a normal car now when i go test drive a car i actually feel weird that the car is creeping so much i really want it to stop i like this uh i like this sensation i know most people driving a tesla the number one complaint about the drive is the regenerative braking because it doesn't feel like a normal car it doesn't keep coasting like a normal car but once you get used to it and you actually practice and utilize one pedal driving it is actually very nice and and i come to love it so there you have it five things i love about this tesla model y that goes beyond the obvious now these features are ones that most people don't talk about or concentrate on but they are really good i've come to love them and i really can't live without them and hopefully you guys enjoy some of the accessories i showed you guys the inside looks a little bit better right also the
