5 STATE CHALLENGE! New England Road Trip with the Norwegian 737-MAX8

hey guys it's noel welcome to today's very much a last-minute flight and I bought this flight around about ten minutes ago and I'm leaving the house in about ten minutes time so my first flight is about an hour and a half very long story I'm just making sure of everything ready for this trip all of my camera gear and everything I think I've got everything I really hope so because I'm going to be away for about two days on this trip right so okay so now I'm on the road I can tell you a little bit more about what's going on now so I wasn't due to be flying tomorrow to Houston and hurricane Harvey barreling into the Texas coastline as a category four storm with a hundred and thirty mile an hour winds helicopters from the Navy Coast Guard and other agencies are flying rescue missions along the Texas Gulf Coast this morning travelers stranded to both of Houston's airports shut down along with at least six others in that area Singapore Airlines with every airline that was still flying but they canceled there this morning I have booked up some flyers for today I'm heading over to New England to Connecticut on Norwegian which I know is a route that those of you have been asking for to you to try out Norwegian on the transatlantic routes and then I pull back from Providence tomorrow in Rhode Island to Edinburgh and first of all got to get to Edinburgh so this is why I'm heading to East Midlands in oh it's a bit of a hurry because the flight leaves in about an hour's time forty minutes drive away from Miss Midlands Airport so fingers crossed that we get there in time okay so I am now at East Midlands Airport this Airport is absolutely horrid I hate flying through here but unfortunately it's the only Airport that is has a flight up to Edinburgh that's gonna get me there in time today so I'm having to park here and it's saying I've got about a 20 minute walk into the terminal now I'm gonna head over down to the terminal the terminal is just there it is now quarter past twelve so the flight leaves in about half an hour's time so hopefully enough time to get in go through security okay so now I'm here at Edinburgh Airport in Scotland and it was quite a nice flight from Flybe I've just realised I need to kind of saw some hotel accommodation happen tonight when I get over to Connecticut so I'm doing that once I get back inside but now I'm going to have that free money to check in for my flight now and head back through two departures again through to get our flight I've seen the aircraft already on the ground so hopefully not take us too long to get back through okay so here we are we're at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel just on the outskirts of Bradley International Airport here in Hartford Connecticut got my Double Tree cookie as standard at these places it's always awesome to get one of those picked up the rental car it's now like three hours since I arrived it's insane this Airport the immigration line was about 40 minutes long and then I have to get a shuttle bus to the different terminal from the arrivals terminal to terminal a and then from terminal area had to get another shuttle bus to the rental car and then I just have to drive the rental car from there to here and I feel like I've been driving around here circles for about the last hour or so but never mind we're here now it is half past 9:00 at night it is half past 2:00 in the morning in the UK so I've been on the road for about 20 hours now since I left home this morning flight tomorrow night isn't until about half-past nine and it's out of Providence Rhode Island Providence is about a two-hour drive from here so I've got all day to get there really so I'm gonna see what I can do and make some plans this evening but I think the first priority tonight is to get some sleep and in the morning we'll have a look at the situation and see how I'm feeling and hopefully get a little bit of driving done and we'll have a bit of a drive around these little tiny states here up in New England well good morning to you it is about half past 5:00 in the morning here in Windsor Locks Connecticut I'm just across from the Bradley in tonight I'm actually the end of the runway is kind of about there probably can't see there's not room service here require little airports actually it's a very surprised about how small is literally got no idea about what this place was a light bit when I booked it because it was such a last-minute thing I said to find little airports it's very much like Birmingham or East Midlands back in the UK now it's ridiculous o'clock in the morning at the moment I am jet-lagged I am I've been up since 4 o'clock this morning because I'm still playing it when you take time and when I'm traveling I generally try to stick on UK time anyway because it's it's just easier that way so I'm to say at the moment that in the UK it is half-past 10:00 in the morning on a Sunday morning ok so I come up with a bit of a crazy idea but today now my drive to Rhode Island where I'm flying from tonight to 9 o'clock is about an hour and a half drive from here I've got right all day to killed so what I'm gonna do is define a state of challenge now in New England there are very small states in very close proximity to one another I haven't been to any of them apart from now on I'm in Connecticut so my plan today is to do this I'm going to initially had to prove Massachusetts or bi 91 to Vermont head across to New Hampshire which will take up three state number four is gonna be a little bit more tricky this a bit further away but that's Maine and then of course Rhode Island's this afternoon head back now three months the two states to Rhode Island tonight that is gonna beat my fifth state of the day today I'm going to try to get to over the noon good state in one day by driving I mean really long day lots of drive-in let's do it thank you thank you thank you that's what you call a large coffee Roundabouts in the states! I've never seen that before okay this is something I have never seen before they're everywhere in Europe work but never actually seen around about here in the u.s. very strange okay we're coming down now into Chesterfield a town not far from where Ilive I live but this one here too Wow this bridge how cool is that fog down there in the river you look at that, gorgeous A little bit of mist down there on the river stunning so we have just crossed the river from the launch into New Hampshire making that state number four of the day it's only half past eight in the morning we are heading across now then towards Maine I'll be pulling off very soon to try and find a route thats gonna take us over there woah look at that lake that is beautiful okay so I just had to pull off here I mean I'm gonna turn around and show you this view look at this place I'm in New Hampshire in it well this is Chesterfield in New Hampshire and it's quite funny because there's a Chesterfield not far from where I live and it isn't nothing like the Chesterfield that I know it's absolutely gorgeous if you look out over there I don't know whether you can see the lake the mist rolling in over a few little boats sit down it's absolutely stunning and we are only two and a half hours into our driver so next stop for us is Maine and I hope this scenery carries on like this because this is just beautiful okay so we are back on the road now we are just leaving this beautiful little spot here in Chesterfield New Hampshire we are now heading to Maine me for about two hours and 20 minutes until we find our nice little seaside town in the Maine on the Atlantic coast so we're gonna head down there now and enjoy this scenery on the way interesting when I started this journey about four hours ago I was the person everybody was getting annoyed with it now is the other way round driving for a few hours now I'm getting into the swing of it so I'm here at the really picturesque and beautiful York Beach here in Maine later on we're gonna head back down to Rhode Island but for now I'm just enjoying it here look at list view absolutely stunning and I'm doing what you have to do while you're in Maine and having some like clam strips with some fries enjoying the sunshine I've got about three hour drive down back to Providence then let's finish this so I'm getting on my way then but yeah it's what a stunning a beautiful day and it's a really pretty little town as well okay Center sob still imagining when going around the main roads so we're gonna have to see but basically can see where weight sensors on the way down they're really slow yeah but sit and enjoy this 2-minute we've got coming up now down to Rhode Island okay so we are fast approaching Rhode Island now our final state today just Boston hopefully now we are just a few miles away interesting fact Rhode Island is the smallest state in the u.s. we answered today this is Rhode Island in Rhode Island this will be a bit at least right very dear highway to Providence but all of the treatments absolutely evening I've been on the road for about from Providence back to her in the UK so I think I'm gonna yeah I've been trying out at night so here we are back at East Midlands Airport just under 48 hours since we left about here again quite a nice trip over to the state's really crazy connections now in Edinburgh and very nearly missed the flight because of the late inbound into Edinburgh had to run through the terminal to trauma the last person on board so very nearly missed that flight but now we are back here at Midlands and heading back to the car park you
