5 Small Hybrid Camper Trailers with Bathrooms!

are you looking for a hybrid travel trailer well we found some outstanding ones and we reviewed them just for you [Music] hi everybody Mike from RV blogger here in front of the camera and Susan's behind the camera and today we're taking a look at hybrid travel trailers a lot of people like hybrid travel trailers because they're very light and easy to tow some of the downsides are that you can't take them camping in bear country sometimes but we have a solution to that problem that will show you a little bit later on in the video if this is your first time checking us out on YouTube well so let's get into our review of hybrid travel trailers so this is the in tech flyer Explorer ten point six toy hauler travel trailer this baby is meant to go off-road it you can fit a really nice sized ATV in here or a motorcycle no problem but one of the really cool list features I like about this particular travel trailer toy hauler is the pop-out feature I haven't seen this very often on a travel trailer toy hauler it's kind of like a hybrid toy hauler but as you guys know and as an old tent camper I just have a spot in my heart for the pop-out style because you can sleep here and it feels like you're sleeping in a tent zip down all three and you have a nice mesh awning all around you and you just get that real outdoorsy tent feel when you're sleeping which I particularly love but anyway it also maximizes that space that you have available in here and it opens up really really nice towards the front of the RV you have some countertop space the outdoor kitchen actually slides in under this and we'll take a look at that in a minute and then you have some storage overhead as well there's also a very large door on the other side and we'll take a look at that when we go outside to see the kitchen area so here we are outside and you can see that door than or this is a really wide door open much wider than most doorways that we see so that's a nice feature we think especially if you're trying to carry heavy gear inside now as you can see it is set up for offroading and it's got the larger tires the larger wheels really nice ground clearance as well and then you have your sort of outdoor kitchen setup they have a dome attic fridge here as well and the one thing that kind of strikes me odd is that the stovetop sort of faces the hallway it actually opens this way and you have a two burner stovetop in here it just seemed to me maybe the lid should up in this way maybe it's reversible although I don't really see how especially with the control knobs in here and everything so I don't know that's a bit bizarre to me but anyway it's got everything that you need for your outdoor kitchen area up top it does come with the rhino-rack system and it's got a batwing awning also that comes out so pretty complete set up really nice trailer I might have forgotten to mention the size of it it's nineteen hundred and thirty pounds it is 16 feet long and widthwise it goes to fifteen feet six inches from the end of the kitchen opening to the far end of the pop-up opening so when it's fully open six 15 feet six inches wide so we really like this model for a toy hauler because it's got the pop-out feature something we normally don't see so pretty cool pop-up pretty cool travel trailer to haul or week this hybrid travel trailer is the jayco jay feather x17 z he sounds like a football play if they asked me but it weighs about 3000 285 pounds and it's about 18 feet 9 inches long so it's very compact and light so a lot of vehicles should be able to tow this hybrid and that's one of the big advantages of a hybrid is how light they are this particular one obviously has a pop-out section on each end that a queen sized bed here sort of tucks behind the bathroom which provides a little privacy for you in the kitchen area I really like the design they have here they have the white cabinetry with the black glass fronts built into them the white in the black contrast just looks really nice and appealing it feels very very good in here it's got a large double bowl sink nice faucet over over top and then we have a three burner range small oven and a microwave over top across from the kitchen we have the refrigerator area and then on top of the fridge is where we have a TV located now on this end of the hybrid trailer we also have the bathroom and we'll take a look in there next well as you can see in the bathroom I don't want to fall out of this thing in my opinion the showers just a little bit small in this bathroom and it has a curtain which I'm not really fond of if I was in here taking a shower I'm sure I would hit the curtain by accident water would be on the floor I prefer the glass door enclosures myself and that might be an option in here but it looks like it comes standard with the curtain also it does come with a medicine cabinet which is very nice and it's got a decent sized vanity and vanity cabinet down below for storage as far as the elbow test goes well one side no go other side I can flap freely and seems like it's a decent-sized bathroom altogether on this side of this hybrid travel trailer we have a really nice comfy couch which also jackknifes into a bed you'll notice above me some really nice dark rich cabinetry plenty of storage space up there and then across from the sofa of course we have a dinette area for four and this dinette can also convert into a bed as well and again additional storage over top is a really nice feature we also even have some small storage up top here so there's plenty of place to plenty of nooks and crannies to store things and then the tent camping part again it's about a queen-size bed size very large area very comfortable and but it's a great lightweight budget-friendly travel trailer hybrid this hybrid travel trailer is the Rockwood roo 19 it's about 21 feet 2 inches long and it weighs about 4,000 pound 4050 pounds but it's a really nice efficient sized budget-friendly hybrid camper when you first come in from the outside you'll notice on the left-hand side here you have one pop out for a queen-size bed really nice and roomy very spacious back here and it actually tucks behind the bathroom which we'll take a look at next so it creates a little privacy that way coming in you have the bathroom right away so here I'm in the shower in the bathroom which is where I always tend to end up but anyway decent-sized shower it's got the rounded doors I think it's a pretty nice feature it's a little bit tight in here but not too bad I mean I've got some elbow room and then outside the shower you have a nice medicine cabinet shelf very large vanity sink and plenty of storage underneath as well then when the old elbow test outside of the shower not much room over here but plenty of room on this side so very good sized bathroom in this hybrid camper all right the kitchen area is pretty nice setup as well it's got a three burner stove pretty good sized oven underneath of course it's got a nice double bowl sink pretty deep as well and sort of a gooseneck faucet above of course you have your microwave up here and then there's plenty of cabinet space for storage both above and down below on the other side of the kitchen we have a nice-sized pantry cabinet lots of room here you could actually use the top half as a coat closet it has a little hanging bar up top more storage down below and then they've gone ahead and put the nice cabinetry finish on the refrigerator which I like it just makes everything blend in it looks a little more high-end that way so on this side of the pop-up hybrid camper you'll notice that we have the Dannette dinette on one side really a good sized booth for people can sit in here very comfortably this also converts over into a bed and then across from it you've got a nice couch with storage underneath and this also becomes a bed if you just flip flip the back cushion out and you have even more space in here to sleep one other thing to note is all the storage space on this end of the camper as well there's actually storage under here storage cabinets up top storage above from the pop-out and then and then a little bit of storage down below as well then of course you've got this end your pop out which is another queen-size bed again in this particular model if you were sleeping out in bear country you could actually fold up both ends of the camper and sleep in your dinette and sofa area and be able to be allowed to sleep in any areas of bear country this hybrid travel trailer is a Rockwood route to the 33s model it's about 25 feet long and it weighs just over 5,000 pounds so it's a good sized travel trailer and it can sleep up to eight people in here as well so we'll run through and show you all of those great details and where everybody can sleep but right now we're going to start right here in the living area so you can see right here to the right of me is a nice comfy sofa this thing jackknifes out into a bed as well directly across from the sofa we nice big u-shaped dinette area good-sized table and this also converts into a bed so so far we've got a place to sleep for two people one thing I like about this bumped out also is that it's got a window on each side and a nice big window in the back as well so you get plenty of cross ventilation through here really nice setup now moving this way through we have the kitchen area and you get a nice three burner stove oven underneath microwave on top and then you get a nice deep double bowl sink gooseneck faucet plenty of storage underneath and then to the right here you get a nice 2 foot deep pantry area as well just behind me over here you would have a refrigerator with separate freezer on top and it's got the cabinet face or the cabinet fronts on the refrigerator as well so it just looks really really fantastic and luxurious in here back in the living area you can see over my shoulder here there's a pop-out that has a full queen-size bed in it that mattress is also heated which is a nice new feature you'll find a lot of pop up campers and a lot of hybrid travel trailers as well ok so now we're on the other side of the kitchen and there are two more pop outs with full queen-size beds as you can see this area pops right out it's got plenty of storage underneath which is a really nice feature and then behind me here is another pop-out on the end of this travel trailer which is also a full-size clean sized bed as well so 3 queen-size beds a dinette that converts into a bed and a sofa that converts into a bed and you can sleep 8 people in this hybrid travel trailer let's take a look at the bathroom and we'll look at that next the bathroom in this travel trailer Hybrid is really big - it's got these nice glass doors that wrap around the shower very nice touch good sized shower in here I mean I can move around pretty pretty easily to the left of me here is a nice big storage cabinet to the right I have a medicine cabinet above and then below that there's a nice shelf for toothbrushes and a cup really good size vanity sink that's one of the biggest ones that we've seen and then even more storage underneath of the vanity as well commode on the left all together you have a really nice-sized bathroom for this hybrid travel trailer so if you have a really large family we just think this is a perfect layout for you it's got three big fold-out or pop outs and two other places where people can sleep perfect for a large family lots of room in here it just feels big and roomy so we love this Rock woodrue 233 s model fantastic job this hybrid travel trailer is a Forest River Rock woodrue and it's a 23 FK model and this particular travel trailer weighs just over 5500 pounds and it's 24 feet 10 inches long but it sure feels bigger than that in here we think this is a really nice hybrid travel trailer really really well set up the kitchen area as you can see has upgraded cabinetry including the cabinetry look on the refrigerator and freezer doors themselves got a nice microwave three burner stove full oven and a nice double bowl sink in the corner and there's lots of countertop space here for you to work with as well good amount of storage area and pretty nice kitchen setup also you have additional storage over here for your kitchen as well now on this end of the travel trailer you have one of the queen-size pop outs good size nice and comfy you can roll down all the flaps have all that nice fresh air coming in which I know Susan and I really when we go camping although we don't have a hybrid but she used to have a pop-up I used to be a tent camper and we loved all that fresh air now right across from the kitchen we have a really nice sized dinette which can transfer into another bed inside of this particular hybrid good-sized window over top of the dinette as well and as Susan just showed there storage underneath each of the dinette seats as well so when you first walk into this hybrid travel trailer there's some nice storage space here on the left hand side it's got coat hooks or you can remove the shelves and hang coats or you can have a combination of shelves and coats but great spot for all that stuff and it's open down below so you can kick your shoes off and put them under there so you have some nice shoe storage as well in the living area of this travel trailer pretty nice set up good-sized couch which actually folds out into a clean sofa bed so extra space for sleeping there and then right across from that you have the TV sound system and it even comes with a fireplace now one thing I want to mention about the queen-size bed while we're talking about it is one of the complaints that we hear about hybrid travel trailers is that you can't use them in all national parks or any you know sometimes places where you're in bear country and that's true it's not safe because they're not hard sided everywhere but with this particular travel trailer it's large enough that if you were in bear country you could fold up each end which creates hard ends and then you could sleep on your sofa bed and dinette area and be totally fine and then you can go to any parks that you want to go to so that's a pretty cool feature about this particular hybrid that we think is really worthwhile considering so behind me here when you get past the living area is a really great sized bathroom and we'll take a look at that now so a very good sized bathroom inside this travel trailer you can see I've got height over my head because of the little skylight but even beyond that I'm five-eleven no this thing's got me by about three inches or so before I hit the actual ceiling nice shower doors on a track I love these little round setups I think they're really nice but you know a decent amount of space in the shower comes with a medicine cabinet I like the little shelf with the toothbrush holders and the cup holder just maximizes your space even more very large sink in the vanity and then storage down below and for the commode you know elbow test wise no room over here but plenty of room over here so not a bad setup at all so also on this side of the travel trailer this pop-out is actually behind the bathroom so you would kind of crawl in that way and it creates a little bit of privacy on this end which i think is kind of nice also I want to mention that on both sides of the travel trailer there is additional storage above and down below the bed areas so they just try to use every square inch of space
