Pop up camper set up, Rockwood High Wall 276 set up

everybody now for something completely different we finally got a pop-up camper I've been researching these things for nine months multiple dealerships we decided on a rock wood high wall 276 it's got a lot of features as you can see it's a bit of a monster for a pop-up camper we have never set this up the corner we just brought it home a couple days ago from the dealership and we've not really even broken into it except you know throw a couple stuff in the Cubbies so let's set it up it's gonna be fun it might be some frustration but hey it's an adventure right let's go to the latches one there we go you go around get the other two there's no sparing the hardcover and that's how it supposed to be nice and easy like that they do have a little plot if you want to do a padlock on the other side all right so we got all four latches done I'm gonna go back around the other way just to idiot check because this is something you don't want to miss now we've already pretty much leveled it front and back it does have a metric system to raise the roof and it's right here [Music] about a power once it's an up-down toggle and you think a dumber and dumber the most annoying sound in the world if you look right here this is your your indicator for being fully raised you want to go up till it's it's hot but of course not over and there we go it's that easy and it says the entry handle this is a new door system for 2019 and up scale the lock should feel pretty and it has these updated steps and then we can adjust these down here to give it more stability and this gives a lot of left and right ability so in this so when the dealer pack this up he put the fall in here under the under the slide-out when we're done we're gonna put them up under the bunk so they're right there they're not running around bumping and stuff there are two sets of dead-end pulls once with the white tip go in the front and we may have to pull the cardboard there's a little slot up here on the top at this part here goes into just like that and then it slips in here in their streets lot to pick you need to raise your lower one ply the bed and pull it out like that and we'll do the other I see a little black knob floating around in there and before you can see these have the black pip so they go in the back this one has four slots in the back instead of three like the front so just go second from the bottom we can always tweak it if you and I think somebody that's maybe sure and maybe you can start pushing these out from the inside we got that then it comes down to hooking up to canvas so I was really impressed first time we look deep just how heavy this canvas we've not yet even taken off the via plastic on the mattress [Music] that wraps around this way a little button under here that snaps in velcroing up here here's a little button right here and see under here is velcro and then this all holds down around that that was looking at one of these on a sail flood and a pouring rain and I was in there for about a half an hour and it stayed completely dry [Music] I'm not worried about that there's a little poor now this goes across I don't know maybe prefer and taste it's really windy or something they just hooked it over here [Music] or will do and I'll come back and recheck all the velcro to make sure everything so again you got your corner pocket here that's around less in height and that keeps everything else then we tent camps um and we decided we won't go to a puppet and at this price point you could get a small travel trailer bunkhouse but to me they're just too confining I've spent six years in the submarine service I didn't want to live like that on a weekend we didn't want a bigger travel trailer I didn't want an apartment in the woods we have a comfortable home with kids inside electronics all the time and I got to tell you I hated taking down the tent if there's just two hours to break down our big tent and all the cops and stuff but I like setting it up so I don't know if it's something primal about building your shelter in the woods or something I don't mind the setup and when we go home in a couple days we'll see about the teardown maybe I'll have the different if you velcro up hold on the rain flap there are to safety focus on opposing corners but entitlement I'm under the other debt service could pull out the pipe it looks like to me we might have to raise this up one kind of looks like a cool above self that might be too big of a deal puts the dinette slide would be walking with her same thing that's bill crow our two pins here somewhere I'm not saying one hair fell over for that matter basically don't throw this down I'm a patch here again yeah that supposed to be a push me little powder pin right here that I think is attached in here I'll look court when we go inside it if it's not there not a big deal if any cotter pin will do but that make sure the slide is my back and my theory is to start out here in a workforce natural body of the coach this is 14 foot box the other high wall that droplet / flag Seth makes is the same thing just different interior decor and different decals on the outside in different model numbers but there's another 14 foot box and it's the one that has a on the other side as a slide-out kitchen it has a two burner stove and a sink that's kind of cool but I thought that was kind of redundant because you got all the cook cook stuff inside we have a you know camp so that we can use if we want to cook outside just come out like this go back around and get the lifter closed so that's a lesson learned you put everything under the front book match receipt we'll get to it easier like that on opposing corner so I'm going to put it on the other so you put off moving forward up the taper the failure the list of some these a lot coming down these are zippered inside and I've read where you should unzip them when you close it up but you never want to unzip it completely it supposedly allows the canvas to collapse a little bit better because it can be a challenge I guess to tuck everything right and then these I think are coarse extra rain protection but they also protect [Music] the lippert hope and suppose you can unzip it and get that top clap from the inside of the add to the bean vertically challenged I plan to hit around you all four of those the other model that's out there is a 16-foot box and it is huge and it's very nice it has a little short couch on the on this end we have a l-shaped couch in here but it has more storage but how to know it two feet to this with a couple hundred pounds and I don't know I thought that'd be a little unwieldy we were hoping that we can actually store this in our garage or at least in the driveway but our driveway has about a twenty twenty five degree upslope and she bought him doubt back here fortunately there's a these things here this little triangle thing here the guards gets that he's back out why we're here this is your black tank discharge black tank hose and great tape nobody knows why they didn't connect the gray tank to the black this chart so you can flush your girth your black hose but I'll make it work for our weekend camping trips like this we probably will probably use water and the great tank I don't see it's using the bat the toilet I mean the bathhouse 50 yards from here I'm gonna have a porta potty for the midnight trips that we just dumped at our own convenience I don't want to mess with black tank and hose or two day camping trip all this [Music] like I said I'll come back when we're doing tightening everything up a little bit stabilizer gags we put the stabilizer yeah over here so I've already put this one down here this is the manual way but I saw this in somebody else's video I'll show you the difference of speed here it's not too bad no worse and cranking the tongue my understanding is that you do not use these to level the camper it's just ads front and back left and right stability so you just want to get it down on the ground like that and we'll go around to the other two with the drill so they didn't take as long as I thought it would that's even better right plus any any excuse you powerful that's pretty much it for the outside setup so let's do the power cord and get some lights on on the inside these are hatch latches here the door in the other side actually has a magnetic latch I think the 20:27 magnetic latch like I said this is the 276 model if you like it it's my understanding that won't be making these past this here this is 2019 so if you like this model you might want to go searching and get one all right so this is our electrical box here ah and if you look here your city water connection will probably hook up water so that'll be a hose this is an outdoor shower hot and cold with a wand this is I forgot the truth as many times I told myself this goes in the air conditioner plug up there I don't think we're gonna need air conditioning but uh there's where the stepladder comes in right if you don't have a stepladder you can undo this unzip it put the cord here go inside and reach it so it's not a huge thing but I find it funny because I told myself three times when I think about making this video not to forget the AC so this uh you won't come over here this has this is the plug in it has a nice little LED light to tells you is that you've got power coming in this way yep just goes in so I'm gonna turn the breaker on here and see what happens there we go there's your blue light to indicate this is your hot water heater another thing I need to check before we turn the water in as the the tech at the shop when he walked us through he pulled the animal okay come on happy allergy season by the way if me maybe a Maryland he opened this up pulled the anode out and that lets the hot water tank drain that's his suggestion as a service Texas he said that if you just leave the water sit in your hot water tank it's gonna get mildewy snowing and we're for right now gonna be you know weekend campers here and there so we'll probably do that every time I didn't get the end of the rod back in but I want to make sure it's tight before turn the water on so we won't worry about that let's go inside [Music] okay so this is the novice all laying on the floor I'm not sure where that goes I'm sure it'll figure it out so the seaters right here this is a Bluetooth radio turn on the four lights and the ceiling lights so you see we got these floor lights here those come on when you want them to to take care of you know nightlight type of stuff this is a pretty nice radio bluetooth has an HD on HDMI USB charger we do have to endure speakers here and the big black knob right there that is an outdoor speaker so you can check and see if your neighbors like Five Finger Death Punch all right so come on in so do the bed ends first these persons like I said sometimes you get these are our dealer did have them set up right here once again it just makes more sense to put the rods under the the corresponding mattress because I'm sitting here guessing now which rod is which the two longest ones are for the beds so the one here this is the long stick as the front is a king-size bed and the back is the queen-size so I just goes in this little knobby thing here this is the bow down here I can we want to come in this house you'll see with this net thing is something hook it up there we and then you got a horse that out and you gotta hook it in up here there [Music] Ronon appeared a lot [Music] here read one slide all the way out we'll expect that to get easier after a couple of times now sauce a little latches here on the bed em but I've been smart to I'll do that first make sure the bed is pushed all the way out I think board models has this up here this is a little hanging clothes rack that drops in somehow Sicilian this is really high which I kind of like they have to do stuff like this here we go that folds down I don't know if that make sense to me to have this hanging clothes right right by this but this comes down to I'm thinkin oh they let these up and I'm thinkin we tear down we'll take those down and probably be pretty convenient to have them in the house load up everything and just throw them out take them back out of the truck and then hang them up and this is like a same thing same idea about a pantry so do the other bed in this time [Music] and same thing it's going to be really tight problem is you need the stepladder so one thing I just occurred to me that now that we have battery power may be smart turn on the fritz is it apparently these take a while to cool down let's not turn it up and it's on AC it will run off battery propane and shore power [Music] this old [Music] it area [Music] now that needs to be secured a little bit more if you think Oh does that need to be secured there you go so these these complicated mattresses you plug it in on one end of the mattress and you plug it in here of course there's nothing underneath it out there it's on a cold night it could be cold in here [Music] and as I remember the dealership this one was probably a challenge [Music] [Music] and this curtain pulls all the way across to make kind of a private changing room or if the parents want to sleep back here you can pull it across this goes inside the hard wall back bathroom and I think probably during the day since we're going to use the bathhouse we'll leave this down but we'll set it up for the video so first you just raise this side up slides a little bit hook it right there carefully so then you put the door on if you want to show them the bathroom real quick so you have the curtain around that curtain pulls down but it's got a flush toilet it's got the shower wand and we're gonna see if we can't squeeze a porta potty in there this will store it in there and the door which has to be stored here it has this little lip down here and it just slides on right here thank you wanna make sure you got it up against this bumper and up here at the top we live in both sides and there you go you got pretty good bathroom then you can see there's a bit of a gap in there he'd have to work the see-through I'm gonna see you in there so then we'll set up the table and just give you an idea how big this is for sleeping space I'm 5 foot 8 so I could sleep here you can you can do 2 adults here it's no point that is one of our other requirements is that we could sleep a fifth person if you will now the version with the kitchen slide out in the 16-foot big box both had the u-shaped dinette I love the look of the u-shaped dinette but don't the table is about half the size so you don't get a lot of table room will show you this in a minute and they're the same size as far as inches go [Music] and it's a pedestal table in the other two nice thing about this one is you can cheat it one way or another you can take this outside if you need it additional outside o-tama that uh not with [Music] I have some must be stripped down or something we'll worry about that later of course good luck saving surface the wobbly table we really like the countertops in here and they're kind of a light Marbley look they almost have a texture to them and so here you got three burner cooktop this becomes your backsplash to the oven it's electronic spark I don't have the gas crank or Kubek refrigerator with a small freezer pocket much about let these drawers are good but they're really tiny the right shallow and this is extra lighting hooks up here so it's a lot of light good so you got lighting there and then complete storage under both of these I'll show you this one and just more goodies these are the buff fans these are kind of nice and then I'll show you down here so it's the same idea plug it in have fan two speeds and away so you hang it like this then hang it like this so that's how you get fan and lighting in there so you can see that there's a lot of light good night light there's cabinet here which is pretty good goes almost the whole depth there's another storage cabinet here same thing you got these drawers and and I think you have it here now this is the one that accesses to the outside microwave these drawers are bigger than the ones in the kitchen you know you put all your buck sprays and games and stuff in there that's why outlet cable outlet you want to set a TV here pretty much everybody could sit and watch there is storage under here this is accessible from homicide this is the stereo speaker stereo speaker another GFI protected outlet this is your fuse and breaker panel this is your LP sensor this is your I believe that your water that's your water heater so and then on down here there's your heater now here this also has a battery sensor great tank sensor black tank sensor has a 12 gallon grey tank 12 gallon black tank and a 20 gallon freshwater holding tank if you're dry camping today that is solar equipped it has the creative brief and these are the higher-end fans it can pull the 10-mile brief suit here keep crank it open and turn it on and that will run off your battery pretty conveniently and ecologically so now the door this is the part that uh I think is going to be the most challenging actually will see so you loosen this up it's really supposed to be a one-man job but you got to be kind of a tallish man so he just undo these snaps I'm gonna set these guide wires up here so you don't have to hold on to the unlatch it them up here just kind of back it out and want stay on the top the middle the door [Music] don't you get the cross all the way as it does that you do have velcro for the inside the outside you get all this out of the way [Music] these will not be stood like that [Music] [Music] it's [Music] area caution [Music] [Music] No maybe that was the problem that's my Teasdale it did go down a lot easier at the dealership so maybe this happened when they packed it up or maybe I just did there we go this is a little brush on the bottom here that's one way and you guys kind of futz with the and you put the velcro on the inside those up here so I guess this happened to me that was the most challenging part whole setup itself not bad [Music] I'll do the velcro on the outside [Music] excuse me door up door down and the grill seriously radio antenna this is your city water that's the high wall 276 by Rockwood first time setup I've never done this before and I appreciated all the other videos I've seen out there about
