5 SECOND transitions in Davinci Resolve 18 for FREE

five second transitions in resolve my name is rick riccia and i'm going to teach you how [Music] okay we have two clips right there that just transition like that so from one clip to another i want to spice that up a little bit by using the solid color you need to make sure that you see the effects tab and then go to generators get the solid color and drop it on top of these two clips and make sure that it's somewhat in the middle we'll change it in a minute but trust me on that one now we just got a solid color and nothing is happening so we need to make sure that it gets the transition that we want so for that we go to the video transitions and you can pick any transition that you like in this case i'm going with the bourne door one which is a transition like this i'm going to drag it on top of the solid color i'm going to zoom in just a little bit i'm going to make this a little bit wider so i can show you what i mean so we've got it on the front of the clip but i want it at the end as well select it click alt and then drag it towards the other side of this solid color so now we've got the transition on both sides let's see how that looks so we go from one to the other like that now it's black i don't like black so i want to change the color in the video tab color change it to let's say orange in this case click ok and now we see that the color is orange now let's say this is taking too long you can just drag this in and make sure these connect this is what i like the most and make sure it's in the middle of the cut we've got the barn door in the front but it's it's not very smooth so we're going to change the ease into in and out and the same for the other one in and out and let's say you want the first one to be the barn door but you want the second one to be different you can change the transition type to anything you like so i'm going to click cross dissolve just for the sake of this video and now watch what happens if i play back this clip i think that looks pretty great how it goes from one clip to another and that's it for this video i hope you like it click that playlist over there and i'll see you next time
