well on today's video a lot of a five reasons five reasons that the the pre-tribulation rapture theory is patently unbiblical in other words it has no biblical warrant whatsoever before I do that let me quickly mention that the pre-tribulation rapture theory a theory that was popularized by john nelson darby back in the 19th century contends that god has two distinct people he has two distinct plans and two distinct destinies for these people the church is going to be raptured seven years prior to the second coming of christ and then and then jews are going to suffer a Great Tribulation according to the popular Left Behind series the mind-boggling terror and turmoil of this Great Tribulation is going to be a nightmarish reality that far exceeds even the Holocaust of Adolf Hitler in the 20th century and concurrent with this carnage there's going to be a soul harvest that will emerge and it will emerge as a result of the proselytizing efforts of a hundred and forty-four thousand Jewish virgins and while multiplied millions hold firmly to this notion as I said there are at least five reasons that make it decidedly unbiblical the first reason is this the pre-tribulation rapture theory is found nowhere in the Bible search as you may you will not find this theory in any of the biblical texts in the Old Testament in a new test there's not a single passage that speaks of Jesus coming to rapture the church seven years prior to the second appearing our Lord's own words negate the notion remember that Jesus said that time is coming when all over the graves will hear his voice and come out those who have done good will rise to live and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned so the plain and literal sense of our Lord's words suggest a moment in the future when both the righteous and the unrighteous will be resurrected and judged together the notion that some believers will come out of their graves at the rapture and others one thousand seven years later is clearly an imposition on the biblical text it's unwarranted the second reason is that there is no biblical basis for a coming seven-year tribulation during which a vast majority of Jews are going to die well that of course is not to suggest that Jews have not faced this kind of tribulation in the past who could forget the terrible seven-year tribulation suffered by the Jews during the beast late rain event is the fourth epiphanies remember he was the man who plundered the temple Treasury he was the one who who dedicated the sanctuary to the Olympian god Zeus he was the man who sacrificed a pig on the altar and of course the annual Hanukkah celebration ensures that the world will ever remember the seven-year tribulation during which the abominable Old Testament Anti Christ did the unthinkable and had God not supernaturally intervene through Judas Maccabeus the epicentre of Jewish spiritual and sociological identity would just had been desecrated it would have been manifestly destroyed two centuries later what we should recall that the Jewish Jesus look back at this abomination the abomination that causes desolation it was the one spoken of by the prophet Daniel Jesus looks back on this to warn his followers that another tribulation was in store from the Great Fire of Rome to the fiery destruction of the Great Temple in Jerusalem the Roman beasts unleashed its fury against a fledgling Christian Church and in the end you might recall that Peter and Paul themselves were persecuted and put to death at the hands of the Beast back on August 30 ad 77 years after the beginnings of tribulation the Second Temple was set ablaze and by September 26 all Jerusalem was in flames of course this time the blood that desolated the sacred altar flowed not from the carcasses of unclean pigs but from the corpses of unbelieving Pharisees this time the Holy of Holies was not merely desecrated but it was manifestly destroyed this time know judas maccabees intervened within a generation the temple was not just desecrated it was utterly decimated and Jesus emphatically placed the time of Jewish Tribulation in the first century his words must must never be used as a pretext for a Jewish Holocaust in the 21st century there's a third reason the third reason is that there is no warrant for a rebuilt temple and wreak - - temple sacrifices so this is the third of five reasons why the pre-tribulation rapture theory is patently unbiblical scripture clearly forbids Christians to have any part whatsoever in the building of a third temple a third temple which would occasion the trampling of the holy son of God underfoot by counting the blood of the Covenant a common thing through the offering of unholy animal sacrifices in fact the Shekinah glory of God will never again descend upon a temple constructed of lifeless stones well why do I say that I say that because it forever dwells within the living stone the living stone rejected by men but chosen by God as the Apostle Peter explains you also like living stones are being built into a spiritual house to be well to be a holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ our Lord and then there's a fourth reason this is the fourth reason that there's no biblical basis for believing in a second chance for salvation after the second coming of Christ you know Jesus Christ is perfectly clear about this Oh given to him by the father will be raised up on the last day and and and I would add that Paul points out that the liberation of creation goes hand in hand with the redemption of our bodies and therefore we can be absolutely certain that no one will be saved following the second coming of Jesus Christ the notion that our bodies are redeemed at the rapture and that earth is liberated from its bondage to decay approximately one thousand seven years later is without any scriptural war of whatsoever and I say that because of the second appearing of the Bride of Christ the Church Universal is complete no one else can be saved and while the notion that 21st century Christians are destined for seven years of bliss and Jews are in for a Holocaust of unparalleled proportions is being trumpeted in current Christianity with great bravado it's simply not great Bible there's one more reason that I want to give in this listicle that's a fifth reason that there's no basis no basis whatsoever for the dispensational notion that rightly dividing the word of truth is ten amount to figuring out which verses a scripture applied to Israel and which verses applied to the church now this is kind of interesting Darby's dispensational system of dividing the Bible actually ended up dividing the body of Christ if you go back to the 19th century Plymouth Brethren you find that they were divided as a result of Darby's novel theory nonetheless you have CI Scofield rightly dividing the word of truth which was a book that he wrote that became a primary defense of Darby's two people of God theory all of these reasons are reasons to reject the notion of a pre-tribulation rapture yeah and I would say this in conclusion that if thee if the evangelical death marched toward the end game of Armageddon is to be subverted it's going to be because believers recommit themselves to faithful illumination leave with that another way it's going to be because believers recommit themselves to faithful exegesis to mining what the Spirit has breathed into the scriptures as opposed to reading our own predilections into the biblical text sudden flashes of intuition sudden flashes of inspiration are poor substitutes for the scrupulous study of the Word of God we must pray that the Holy Spirit gives us clear minds and open hearts as we dig into his word and that means that you have to be willing at the outset to sacrifice treasured traditions on the altar of biblical fidelity it means learning to read the Bible for all it's substantial worth ultimately it means turning away from fruitless eisegesis that's imposing your paradigm on Scripture and marching undeterred toward the end game of faithful exegesis in other words you want a mind from description with the Holy Spirit is placed there so again five reasons the pre-tribulational rapture theory is patently unbiblical I've written about this and a book called the Apocalypse code find out what the Bible really says about the end times and why it matters today that book is available for those who support the ministry of the christian research institute you can find it on our website at equip dot org EQIP dot org so long for now
