in this video i am sharing with you several ways that you can use these dollar tree garden dishes i've seen these on the shelf for years and never knew how to use them so i wanted to dive deep and come up with several ways that we could use these because they are very inexpensive and they are large pieces for a dollar and i knew there had to be a ton of ways that you could use these really cool little plastic bows that are easy to paint and diy so i think you're gonna love this video i hope you do please leave me a big thumbs up and let's go ahead and get started hey guys and welcome back to my channel make sure you are subscribed hit that thumbs up button if you like diy and crafting like i said today we are diving in deep and getting creative and coming up with really cool ways to use the dollar tree garden dishes these are just like really thin plastic bows but they are sturdy and really nice and have a lot of potential i am just trying to inspire you to get really creative and think outside of the box to come up with some really cool farmhouse diys using these and i think that's exactly what i've done so i loved all of these i think they turned out so cute can't wait to find out which one of these diys is your favorite i just think these are perfect for crafting they are really sturdy very inexpensive and can make larger pieces whenever you put these together so i really hope you enjoy it and don't forget to subscribe hit that thumbs up button and let's go ahead and start crafting there are a couple different styles when it comes to these garden dishes for this first project i'm using the thinner one which has a larger opening in the top but it is really shallow and i just start by removing the labels i highly recommend picking up a heat gun if you craft a lot because it helps so much taking off those dollar tree labels and then for this project i wanted to make a gorgeous candle stand kind of like a grouping of candles that would look really pretty as one piece so i'm using some dollar tree candles the taller candle actually came out of another set that i think came from kohl's just because i didn't have the other dollar tree candle on hand but definitely keep an eye out for those and pick them up whenever you can i didn't like how they were all one size though like the one in the back is a little bit taller but they all just kind of sink down in the bottom of this bowl or garden dish and i just didn't like how flat or how deep down in there they were setting so i decided to build little platforms so that i could raise them up i am just taking some of my building tower blocks from dollar tree and gonna glue these together in a few different sizes so they will set at different levels [Music] and then to paint this a really pretty deep brown color i'm using the truffle color by waverly i'm just applying it into the bowl and then i can kind of dip off of that but i do recommend painting the inside and the outside because you are going to be able to see both of these on this project and i do end up doing a couple different coats of paint because you are able to see through it with just the first coat i am using one of these new candle holders from dollar tree i actually ordered these online so i had to buy them in bulk i'll link them down below if you're interested but i just knew that i would be using these a ton all fall and christmas so i just went ahead and grabbed a bunch of them so i don't have to try to keep looking for them in the store i wanted to go ahead and paint it that same brown color i love this color it goes on like a milk chocolate color but it definitely dries a lot darker and it's just a beautiful farmhouse color and goes with neutral decor i wanted the stand to be really dark so that my candles on top will really pop out i'm not wanting these little platform risers to show up in this little candle tray so i go ahead and paint those the same color and then hot glue those down [Music] the candles are like this cream color but they are just really plain and i wanted to add that extra detail in there so i'm wrapping the bottom of mine with some burlap ribbon i have seen people wrap theirs with black and white buffalo check whenever they are decorating dollars or candles and those are really pretty as well i just want this to be more of a neutral i think it will go into fall really beautiful with these warm colors so i hot glued down my garden dish on top of the stand put my candles in there and then i lucked out i was at walmart and they were clearancing out all of their spring little floral bouquets and i have been using these already all year and loving them so i was super excited whenever i found these they were only a couple of dollars after they were marked down and i've just been using them to in a ton of projects so i was able to add this in and then like i said to go into fall you definitely could just put some little pumpkins around or add in some fall colored flowers this will definitely be a piece that you could change to go through each season i dry brushed a little bit on the candlestick with some black paint and then just put this together and added the greenery and i think it turned out gorgeous i styled it with some more farmhouse decor and just think it is a beautiful piece made from that plastic bowl [Music] next up is a really awesome diy that i think you're gonna love um i found some more garden dishes that were more deep and taller and they didn't have as wide of an opening but they were had a really cool shape and i thought upside down they look like little lamps so i found these plant hangers from dollar tree as well as these little push button lights and i just knew there was a way to put all of these together so that i could make some really awesome farmhouse lamps now i know farmhouse lamps can get really pricey especially if you're ordering them online but i knew there had to be a way to make them ourselves the only thing i'm using not from dollar tree is this little wood pile brand um wooden circles from hobby lobby they just have the little detailing around the edges and i just think they are gorgeous so i do want to add that because i did need these and i couldn't find this exact thing at dollar tree that i was looking for but i thought they would look really cool on the wall if i could mount the little plant hangers or plant hooks onto these little wooden circles and i knew this would make it a lot more sturdy than trying to hot glue something back there so i did have to use my drill for this i just screwed the screws that came with it down in there so don't lose those keep those with them and then i was nervous about using hot glue but um i knew with this cheaper plastic that i was kind of scared to drill any holes in it or add any other type of glue um i struggle finding anything that will hold to metal really good so i wanted to add hot glue but i knew it needed a little bit more support so i'm going to try to glue the plant hook onto the plastic bowl and then add these little pieces of popsicle sticks and these ones are from dollar tree but i'm going to try to add a couple as braces so that whenever i do hot glue it i can press these down and it has more surface area to hold on to rather than just what's below the plant hook so i do add a ton of hot glue and i remember i recommend adding a ton of hot glue just to make sure that these are aren't going to fall off but the light is very lightweight so i do think that it is going to hold up there on the wall but feel free to add any other glue that you prefer [Music] after the glue was completely cooled down and these were intact i took this outside and sprayed it with some of this rust-oleum 2x black spray paint this is just my favorite brand um i just think it holds up on plastic really good so i just went ahead and sprayed the entire thing and i was nervous at first that the using the plant holder would make it look a little tacky but honestly like up on the wall i think these are gorgeous and like you don't even pay attention to that little plant hook i think it actually looks like a real farmhouse lamp so these little um lights from dollar tree are self-adhesive which is awesome they are still sticking up there really nicely for me um if you were worried about it you could add a little bit of your own glue but i think these are so awesome that these are touch light and they don't require any wiring or anything like that and this just twists off after it does glue onto something so that you're able to change out the batteries which is awesome and then this is what they look like all put together i think these are awesome and such a gorgeous way to make a farmhouse lamp on a budget i was able to get these to hold up with command strips just for filming this video but after i commit to where i want these exactly which i am loving them above my fireplace i am going to go ahead and screw them to the wall [Music] i tried to make projects that were very different um using these garden dishes so that i just didn't keep copying the same thing and keep adding plants into them um so for these next ones i wanted to make something that i could hang up on the wall that would look really nice in farmhouse so once again i am using two of these more shallow garden dishes and they are just really short but with wide openings so i thought these would be gorgeous hanging up on the wall they would kind of make like decorative plates if you wanted them to you could put some vinyl stickers in there but i really wanted them to look really 3d and just kind of pop off of the wall so i'm painting them a couple coats of the white chalk paint i make sure that i do the inside and the outside because you are going to be able to see both of those and then let those dry really good [Music] i wanted to add a flower pot and i've used this before i couldn't find a flower pot in my crafting stash and i didn't want to make a special trip so i'm just going to be reusing these but this is just a dollar tree little plastic flower pot that i cut in half with a knife and scissors and it cut very easily and then i wrapped a little bit of lace around the top i tried to get that lace off for this project but it was just really tacked down so i just left it and painted over there i wanted a darker little pot because the plate is white so i'm going in with some elephant color chalk paint and just painting those and like i said i'm just reusing this because this is all i had but i definitely wouldn't add the lace if i made this again [Music] i wanted to give these plates a little bit more detail without being too harsh because i do want my little pot in there or planter to pop out of this little dish so using some silver lining which is a very light gray i'm just brushing this crazy around in a circle i do try to keep the circular shape going on but i'm just not too worried about what it looks like because it is not going to be the focal point of this project and that plant is really just going to grab your attention in your eye but that little bit of gray dry brushing does make it look a lot higher quality i tacked these down with hot glue you can see where i had used them before i do have a little bit more um of the old hot glue stuck to it so a little bit more to glue down but after i get it glued down i do tack some more hot glue on the inside just to make sure that these have a really strong hold and then i have an old hobby lobby garland and that i'm going to just pull off some of the little leaves from and just place them down in there i think they fit perfect and i just kept working with them and filling them in until the shape was how i really liked it and next i'm using some nautical rope um i know they said that this nautical rope keeps getting shorter and shorter but i was able to find it in the nine foot which i was super excited about i know a lot of people said that it's even going down to seven foot um so i went ahead and tied a little knot in the first one on both ends and after i like the sizing of it i went ahead and before i glued down the first one just made sure that they were both the same size and then i picked up some of these little metal pink um clamps from dollar tree and i am loving them it was so nice just to add my glue and then clamp that down so i don't have to sit there and wait for my glue to cool down but just a really nice and that dollar tree does have these because i think these will be awesome whenever i am crafting and then just after a few seconds i was able to remove these little clamps and these were held perfectly in place but i think these are adorable and they look kind of boho farmhouse which is exactly my style right now not 100 boho more farmhouse but i just love it i think they are super cute and would go with any type of decor you could change the flowers out but just a really gorgeous high quality piece made with these awesome one dollar garden dishes [Music] and this next diy is super super easy um not a lot of diying going on i'm just pretty much painting this really nice and making it more of like a planner that it is intended for so also to get those labels off if you don't have a heat gun i like to run them under warm water and then they easily come off but just make sure that you really dry this before you paint it i'm painting this with some of my waverly white chalk paint and once again make sure you do get on the inside and the outside i am going to be filling this in with some styrofoam and some rocks so you're not going to see as much but i just feel like if you have a thin spot of paint you can see through the bowl which makes it look less nice so i wanted to dry brush this as well i just love dry brushing i do it to everything i just feel like it really just gives it extra texture and detail it makes it look beautiful i try to start off lightly i'm always nervous whenever i am dry brushing on how it's going to look so i do really light paint and then i go back in and add a ton [Music] more [Music] dollar tree has put out this new little cork ribbon that i think is gorgeous has a lot of detail to it but i never knew exactly what to use it on so i just thought it would be fun to add a little trim to the top of this planter and i'm going to hot glue it it kind of wants to buckle a little bit because it is larger than the um or it is different sizes on the bowl like the top smaller and then it gets a little larger as it comes down so i decided um it was easiest just to put hot glue i was putting dots of hot glue and trying to kind of tack it down but it's a lot works a lot better if you just put a solid row of hot glue all the way around it working little sec little sections at a time and then i'm going to make this into a succulent planter and add some of dollar tree's gorgeous succulents but it was too deep down in there and i didn't want to fill it in with tons of styrofoam to the top because i didn't want you to be able to see it so i decided to add these little wooden blocks on there as little risers so it kind of has little legs on there so that it does raise up the styrofoam and then i am loving these dollar tree succulent picks i love these large ones i think they are so gorgeous and make any project look high-end but then i wanted to add some smaller ones so i have some more dollar tree ones as well as these little tiny ones that were clips or out of the little magnet pots that dollar tree had so i did um have to kind of push these down in there and work with it a little bit to see how i liked it and then i could fill this in with rocks [Music] i decided that i didn't have enough pretty rock to fill in the whole entire bottom of this and raise it all the way to the top so i decided to cut off just some small pieces of burlap and tuck those down around the sides and that's just really going to fill it in so that all of those rocks don't sink to the bottom and then these are the kind that i'm using if i would have had the tiny ones i think that's what i would have used instead but i do like using different rocks in different little planters so that everything in my home doesn't look the same but you'll have to let me know in the comments down below if you struggle with this that you have like your favorite item and you want to use it all the time but then all of your diys start looking the same so whether that is using those metal words from dollar tree or the same rocks or i feel like everything in my home is white with greatest dressing or it's gray with a darker gray distressing but i think this is super cute like i say this is more of like what it is intended to use for but i wanted to show you how to make it look really heightened and such a nice piece using the one dollar garden dish and then moving on to the next diy i'm using a couple more of these little shallow garden dishes i also want to use these as a little tray and i want this to be like a tiered tray but i'm not going to decorate it like that you'll see what i'm talking about i'm also using some of these more of these candle holders now i do paint three of them but i only end up using two of them i was gonna make this super tall but after i was putting it together i just really liked it um with two so i am using some still color chalk paint it's just like this medium gray color and i just go ahead and do one coat on everything but then i decided i was going to try to put it together before i do a second coat just to make sure i get all of the glue covered and all of the spots that you are going to see so like i said i'm only going to use two candle holders so you would only have to paint two of them or find two of them but i did end up painting three but i'll definitely just reuse this on another project i also had another one of those wooden circles like i used earlier on the lamp so i decided to add that to the bottom just to give it a little bit more detail i think it is gorgeous and makes it look high-end so i put the circle side down so that it would go nice and smooth with this circle base and i used a mixture of hot glue and e6000 and then i go ahead and turn the dish upside down and add the candlestick to the center just to make sure that i am getting it in the middle [Music] the e6000 added along with the hot glue will give it more of a longer hold and i just feel like it grips on there really tight so like the hot glue will instantly hold it down really nice and tight but then the e6000 will kind of cure after a few hours and it will just like hold really nicely so you can kind of see what i made it look it looks like a really cute little fountain um but kind of like a little tiered tray but i am going to decorate it more of like a candle stand or a centerpiece i think this made such a gorgeous centerpiece and you'll see what i'm talking about but after i got it all glued together i went ahead and did the second coat and and i did like doing this it was a little hard to get in that second little tub in the middle or the little plate in the middle but it just i just felt like i got a lot more coverage and i knew where i needed to paint and then using the elephant color i dry brush all over this and i just think it turned out beautiful i love how it just really enhanced all the little details like on that wood circle and then as well as the candle holders [Music] this is what it looks like before i decorated it it just reminds me of a fountain i think it is so cute and you could add just flowers in the second little thing and add decor to the top but i wanted this like i said to be like a centerpiece i added my hobby lobby garland in the bottom just to really be full and then if whenever it's fall i'm going to add in these gorgeous little neutral color fall picks from dollar tree they are so pretty and that would be perfect just to tuck in little pieces like this but instead hobby lobby is selling these little cotton pods and they save for fall but i know that cotton is something that we can use all year so i am just going to tuck a few little pods down around the bottom and then for the top i want it to match the little bottom tier but i do want it to have like a pretty candle piece in the center so this does look more like a centerpiece and then i go ahead and tuck some more of my hobby lobby garland in there add some more little cotton and then i go back in and tuck in some lambs here [Music] this is how it looks all put together i think it is like a really cute unique piece you let me you'll have to let me know in the comments down below how you feel about it but i think this would make a gorgeous centerpiece if you want to put this in the center of your table on a table runner i think it would look so high-end and gorgeous and no one would ever know we made this with one dollar plastic balls [Music] thank you all so much for coming along and crafting with me today i really hope you enjoy these five diys using the dollar tree garden dishes i hope this inspired you to pick up
