5 Deadly Anti-Clone Weapons Developed by the Separatist Droid Army

[Music] hello there friends welcome back to another episode of generation tech my name is alan the clone wars was an interesting matchup between mainly cloned organic soldiers and metallic battle droids the makeup of these two armies meant that both sides could easily develop weapons that could only harm the opposing side and keep their own soldiers safe the separatist alliance where their mainly inorganic security forces relied on a lot of rnd to develop some seriously terrifying weapons today we're going to look at five separatist weapons that were designed to destroy organic matter area effect weapons whether they be tactical nukes or small hand grenades always have the danger of causing friendly fire but when your entire army is made out of dura steel clankers and your enemy is a bunch of meat droids well you have some flexibility in what kind of area weapons you want to use and whether you want to use them in danger close situations general lockdard was a nemourian arms dealer a noble profession that really created and formed the backbone of outer rim corporate states like the trade federation lochter developed an experimental defoliator weapon which can not only wipe out all vegetation but it could also destroy all organic material it touches including a clone trooper we're not exactly sure how this weapon works but it seems to involve radiation this radiation somehow does not scramble the sensitive components within the battle droid which means it's safe to use in danger close situations this also potentially means that separates battle droids are very rudimentary and lack complicated computer systems the defoliator weapon shell is loaded into a special tank called the defoliator deployment tank also known as ddt like that insecticide we all know this vehicle is basically a normal repulsor powered armored assault tank with a large cannon on the back specifically designed to hold and fire those large defoliator shells we see lock dirt use this weapon against alarming infestation on the planet on martin it proved to be a very capable weapon but its deadly energy wave could be stopped in its tracks by a deflector's shield later on the cypress alliance would use this weapon against the terrifying knight sisters of dothomir the defoliator tank played a big part in cleansing the planet of evil trees the undead and whatever other degenerate things the sisters were trying to grow in that damn soil the end of the clone wars would not mark the end of the use of defoliator weapons as a matter of fact they were quite popular because unfortunately in the star wars galaxy there are a lot of high races that are extremely dangerous to all life defoliated weapons would be used heavily by the chiss ascendancy against the killiks during the swarm war the other big name in weapons development in the outer rim was wat tembor forman of the techno union and it's countless subsidiaries like baktoid armored workshop bactoid combat automata quat drive yards blast tech industries and republic senior systems as you can tell some of those names including blast tech and quad drive yards are major suppliers of the grand army of the republic blastec provided almost every small arms used by the clone troopers and quad drive yards and their subsidiaries provided everything from the massive ships like the venator class star destroyer and acclimator to the all-terrain tactical enforcer and that's because a proper businessman like wat tambor understands that you can't take sides in a war you have to play both sides and profit from both sides water on board clearly has a lot on his plate but when he does have time he gets involved personally with some projects towards the end of the war wonton board can be found working at one of his subsidiaries located on skacako minor known as bactoid innovations it was here where the terrifying weapon known as the decimator was invented this was a simple droid placed on a repulsor lift that had six different laser emitters that created 12 energy tendrils that sought out organic matter once one of these energy tendrils made contact with organic matter the other tendrils would come around surround it overheat it and instantaneously vaporize it very very bad it was a terrifying way to die and a small clone task force almost ran into some trouble with this weapon these droids were relatively easy to take down with just a simple blaster shot but if they're deployed in mass in a confined area i can expect large amounts of casualties in the republic commando series which revolves around the clone commander unit omega squad one of the first mission the clones gets sent on is to a planet known as quillura this temperate mid-rim planet had more or less escaped the major fighting of the clone wars there were hardly any major industries on the planet related to warfare and most of the inhabitants were involved in agricultural production and so the major export for this planet was luxury foodstuffs this relatively poor and forgotten world was owned by a nemoidean merchant he would hire a group of mandalorian mercenaries under the control of guesspoken to keep the sharecroppers on the planet in line during the clone wars the planet would join the confederacy of independent systems and the separatist alliance would open up a top secret bio weapon research lab dr ovelot quail uthan and her research team would be stationed at this lab and together they would develop the fg-36 nanovirus this was a deadly disease that specifically targeted the fat dna and not other humans although this was technically a separatist project very few people in the cyprus alliance heard of it and this was most likely because darcidius himself had contacted the doctor and commissioned this project this was an insurance policy against the clones should they ever turn against palpatine luckily for the republic in the grand army the republic omega squad managed to basically take out this lap and secure the nano virus several thousands of years before the clone wars even started the blue shadow virus had already killed millions of inhabitants across the galaxy the blue shadow virus was kind of like star wars version of cholera but far more deadly this disease had a mortality rate of 96 for all carbon based life forms and death usually occurred within 48 hours of infection the only thing limiting this disease's potency was the fact that it was waterborne only the galactic republic managed to eradicate the blue shadow virus and i'm sure this was a very big accomplishment at the time and so now the only place where you can find strands of the blue shadow virus is in you know research labs but then dr nuvo vindi comes along he had formally worked as a respected and brilliant scientist on his home planet but then fell into madness he basically started admiring viruses and claiming that they were the most highly evolved life forms in the galaxy he viewed attempts to wipe out the blue shadow virus as akin to genocide dr vindy managed to resurrect the blue shadow virus and then he re-engineered it so that it could become airborne he further weaponized the virus by putting the airborne version into bombs which is kind of stupid really i mean if you are going to infect people with a virus you don't want to blow them up immediately because you want them to serve as incubators walk around and infect other people luckily senator badmi amidala stumbled upon his little operation in the swamps of naboo and the republic managed to stop this operation as deadly as the blue shadow virus was its cure was quite simple an antidote could be made from the reexa root this was a carnivorous plant that grew on the planet of igo it was found in low-light conditions at the bottom of canyons our next weapon is the pistoca sabotage droid now this isn't specifically designed to kill organic beings like everything else on this list as a matter of fact this weapon's murdered more than its own fair share of droids as well but what does matter is that this weapon also known as the buzz droid was probably the most feared weapon the separatist lines had seriously just ask any clone in the republic navy or even a civilian captain the pistoca sabotage droid was one of the most hated things to come out of the war at 0.25 meters in diameter these sphere-like droids were deployed seven at a time in special discord missiles which could be fired from a variety of separatist ships once near their target these missiles would open up releasing a cloud of buzz droids when deployed the bus droids will open up their spherical blast shields revealing several small appendages that allow them to clamp onto the surface of enemy ships then using a variety tools like circular saws drill heads pincer arms and plasma torches the buzz droid will start taking apart the hole of an enemy ship until it eventually vents into vacuum individually they're pretty easy to kill a solid jolt from an astromech arc welder is enough to knock them off your ship and a blaster bolt should be able to quickly disintegrate them as well but when you have dozens of bus droids latched onto your ship it's almost impossible to take them all out not even deflector shields which are geared towards stopping faster projectiles can stop a buzz droid from latching on and doing an immense amount of damage buzzeroids would remain a huge problem even decades after the clone wars ended large swarms of unused buzz droids would just roam hyperspace lanes presenting a very dangerous hazard for anyone traveling in those areas also these bus rides always reminded me of the flood infection forum from halo so i really hate them as well so there you have it guys five very
