5 Days in Rome Itinerary + Vlog

[Music] in this video i'm gonna share with you all my itinerary in rome what we did in five days restaurants we tried all the bars and how much everything cost us hi guys i'm carolina welcome to my channel so tomorrow i am going phil's trip to rome with a friend of mine i didn't have girls trip for like eight years i've been in rome four times before but the very first three times i went for work and i didn't really get to explore rome in a proper way and last summer we went in the end of our honeymoon for five or six days but we were just so exhausted after the whole trip that we just wanted to stay in and we didn't really want it to explore much so this time i'm finally going to see more room i'm going to try more restaurants i have already booked everything i am well prepared now this time you're not gonna escape me if you want to see how i'm packing usually before the trip you can stay here or you can just skip it to the fun part and the traveling part so two days before traveling i have everything sorted in terms of amends or work i have pretty much everything done like i'm leaving two days before the trip and so i have those two days left for cleaning i wash all my outfits again i rinse them to get some more freshness i clean my shoes again i clean my luggage anyway i just kind of get everything ready and in order for traveling so today is one day before traveling and i have all my clothes ready i just need to iron them clean them from olive's hair and pack everything up to my luggage okay let's do this [Music] i find it so funny that before the trip i'm so organized everything nicely fits in my luggage and then two weeks into the trip i can't even close it in the trolley luggage i'm gonna keep the heavier things while in the carry-on i'm gonna have lighter items my handbag also is gonna go here i'm also gonna put my camera a gift for my friend i'm also gonna bring maybe it's gonna fit over here passport it's gonna go in a carry-on one clothes i'm gonna start putting a few clothes over here and then what's left in the carry-on [Music] good morning it's time to leave and sing some last goodbyes heading to the train station that's gonna bring me to bari and then i'll have to do another change to go to wrong train station so my plan for today is my friend is arriving later in the evening so i'm gonna have a day for myself i am gonna go to get my hair done and i'm also gonna check in into a hotel i'm gonna chill a bit get some food [Music] we will be staying a few nights at st ridge's hotel and it's one of the most beautiful and elegant city hotels in rome located close to piazza del republica the same regions has long been regarded as the definition of refined european hospitality [Music] i'm gonna jump in a quick shower and order some room service before having my hair done i have an appointment at three o'clock and it's only one hour and a half so i need to hurry up [Music] all right so the hotel came with complementary prosecco i'm gonna wait for camilla to come to pop this also some chocolates over here and i ordered a club sandwich with some tea for lunch oh wow [Music] so i'm really rushing up to get there on time um just gonna fix my makeup my lipstick a little bit i hate being late for anything i'm literally high anxiety every time i'm late i am running running running running i have arrived to rosanna ferritis salon in rome which is located in the hassler hotel just on top of the spanish steps i really want to refresh my natural hair color so today i'll be getting a lighter balayage coloring and it's going to be a very natural and soft transformation [Music] i really love rosanna freity hair products so i decided to visit one of their worldwide salons for the first time [Music] oh my god i'm absolutely in love with my new hair color [Music] so so excited now i'm gonna go back to the hotel it's 7 30. kimberly is arriving in about three hours i have a table booked in a restaurant downstairs for eight o'clock for myself only because i decided not to go around in the evening in the city that i don't really know and i don't really know restaurants around here so i just decided to stay in a hotel and just wait for her here [Music] my friend is about to arrive so we're gonna go probably straight to bed and to wake up tomorrow nice and fresh [Music] bon giorno we're getting ready we just ordered some cappuccinos in room and we're gonna have a slow morning and have some nice breakfast downstairs [Music] we're on our way to an art museum galleria borghese which is just 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel [Music] the gallery has a great collection of paintings and sculptures such as apollo and daphne by bernini and paulina bonaparte by antonio canova it has 20 rooms across the two floors and it also has a nice outdoor garden [Music] time for lunch at anticoasteria di pietra [Music] a very small listeria with the most delicious ketchup peppercorn pistachio pasta ever [Music] our bill with a glass of wine coffee and the pasta was 25 euro purpose [Music] we just got back to the hotel it's been raining all day long today but thankfully tomorrow there should be some sunshine so we're gonna explore the streets a bit better tomorrow and other days but today we're just gonna chill at the hotel and then head to dinner heading to see the coliseum in the evening we were considering to have a tour but decided to have a drink in one of the bars facing it we know that many bars around this area are actually tourist traps but we just wanted to sit somewhere and to enjoy the architecture our taxi driver suggested a bar called the bigga it has great views of the coliseum but please please please don't get any food in there we got some focaccia for 14 euros and it was just the most horrible focaccia i've ever ever seen we followed our evening with a reservation at felicia testacio austria it has a very nice atmosphere very cosy and intimate i went for traditional carbonara while camilla had ravioli my pasta was a amazing well camilla said her ravioli wasn't as delicious in total we paid around 40 euros it's another day and we have a very busy schedule ahead of us we grabbed a quick coffee at the hotel and now heading for some breakfast by the trevi fountain it's actually the first time i'm visiting travis fountain that i can actually see it without so many tourists around in summer this place is so incredibly crowded but i do understand why because this is the most beautiful fountain i've ever seen standing 26 meters high and 50 meters wide just for you to imagine how huge this is it is the largest baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world [Music] we stop at scuderia de quirinale and visit the inferno exhibition the first major exhibition dedicated to the concept of hell you can see more than 200 works of art on loan from over 80 major museums public collections and prestigious private collections from italy and the vatican as well as from other european countries [Music] sofitel roma villa borgesa is located in rome's most prestigious area it's next to via veneto and close to the spanish steps the surrounding area is full of designer boutiques wine bars and restaurants the hotel also has the most beautiful rooftop lounge with spectacular views over rome [Music] down [Music] we have a reservation for lunch at vladimir restaurant which is only three minutes away walking distance the atmosphere is very cozy with a touch of luxury camilla went for a carbonara this time and i wanted to try a beefalo i don't know if you can tell by the looks but the food was delicious 10 out of 10. in total we paid 44 euros they made a discount mistake on the bill that was later corrected now it's time for shopping there are many sales in this period in january so we're going around to get some souvenirs for ourselves [Music] spanish steps the monumental stairway of 135 steps we watched glass colors of the sunset and admired the city view from the top [Music] so now what we're doing now we're going to fountain travis to see at night and then i guess we're going back to the hotel to change and then we're going to go to zuma can't wait for those sushi huh [Music] zuma is a modern japanese cuisine restaurant and it has many restaurants worldwide i've been to the one in london before it has a very cool atmosphere good music and even better food [Music] living in puglia i do really miss variety of cuisine so i told camilla i knew she wanted to eat a lot of italian food but we will have to go to eat something different at least once [Music] okay so canelo's birthday is still in two days but i just wanted to start embarrassing her from early on the dinner was delightful and a few hours later we were getting beauty sleep and get ready for the next day today we are visiting the vatican museum we purchased the tickets online before but just in case you're visiting off-season purchase the tickets at the doors because we paid 30 euros per person to skip the line but there was no line and the tickets are priced at 18 euros at the doors if you're planning to visit the vatican museum get ready for an enormous amount of information and artwork better yet hire a guide because it's huge and can get overwhelming it displays works from the immense collection by the catholic church throughout the centuries including several of the most renowned roman sculptures and most important masterpieces of renaissance art in the world [Music] so [Music] so we had planned our lunch somewhere else but when we turned up it was closed so we found another place to eat pratria albrecher i ordered pasta matriciana it was really good but the portion was quite small in total we paid around 25 euros [Music] we're going to walk around and we're also going to go then to stravinsky bar for lo per tivo and then we're going to go back to hotel for some dinner [Music] it's a foreign aperitiva drink which is not really sweet but it's more bitter reminds me a bit of a non-alcoholic spritz we paid nine euro per drink dinner at settima restaurant in a soffitable hotel we got so stopped from the operativo so we only got one dish and a dessert to share today we walked 22 kilometers so we are exhausted heading straight to bed afterwards [Music] whose birthday is today happy birthday happy birthday [Music] we're gonna go to walking a park and then we're also gonna have maybe if it's open about right in a lake so we'll see some people told us the boat rental was closed due to covet but when we went to see for ourselves it was open yay the price was eight euros for 2 people and for 20 minutes [Music] [Music] the day is so beautiful there's barely any wind and it feels like a fairy tale [Music] we went back to see the form of augustus in the day and walked around the city center until lunch [Music] many people actually recommended me to go to babington tea room which is close to the spanish steps so we booked a table for lunch the sandwich is 20 euros english and we're going to give it a try it's worth it so yeah it wasn't worth 20 euros we got a bit cold so we moved inside for some tea and desserts [Music] from my experience desserts are delicious but lunch wasn't great so i do recommend stopping for some sweets and tea in total we paid 100 euros [Music] we went to see pantheon during the day and for another credena i swear i got obsessed with this drink we sat at one of the restaurants facing the pantheon we knew this was a tourist trap so we didn't get any food learning from our mistakes [Music] back at the hotel and getting ready for dinner and some drinks [Music] we took a cab because we already walked 15 kilometers today so we didn't want to risk feeling completely tired during dinner for dinner we went for an easy place called maruchia i went here last summer and i remember the pistachio of the dollar pizza was amazing [Music] for after dinner cocktails we went to jerry thomas speakeasy cocktail bar we couldn't find it at first it's located in a very small alley and seems like they have a broken light outside for atmosphere on purpose it's quite hard to get into it we had to ask a friend to do us a favor and look a table for us it's a very small place and they don't even take walk-ins the cocktails are delicious and the mysterious experience was an awesome way to finish the day we are leaving rome we are so sad to leave but we couldn't stay here forever we both absolutely loved this trip the itinerary was perfect and
