47 Ford Truck Rat Rod - More Top Chop

yeah that's just video I've done a while back a front suspension so the new subscribers can get an idea of what the chassis front suspension on his trucks going a little like okay well done when done put me a relief cut on each side of the front to the top and got me a little plate welded back together there just got attacked here for now because I got to get I don't know how it's going to be here yet I get the back part on but yeah relief cuts yeah it's right at my house [Applause] so I took the jack and blow broom handle and propped up this so I could Jack it up to get it right high above the Bale and get some relief cuts in the backboard cab on both sides and uh spread it out and inoffensive vice grips are clamped right there before welded and I measure from this edge and I will oversee and I've done the same on the cab from here to the other side I made sure this is the same width so then I attack these little tabs on here so I should go set the back for it all now and see what we got okay I got the back part of top hanging on there a little bit and what I've done I took this little half inch square tubing what I've done I bent it we're gonna match the curved top that door you see that the top of doors curved little bit so I curved it to match the top of that door already done this one so in a clamp it down now to keep that curve right there where it's supposed to be so I'm put one other side and like that yeah still working on the top of course it's a rat ride so instead of cutting metal to fit perfect makes move and I miss gone I just put me a band strip over the seam I'm gonna just stitch it put stitches and I'm gonna do the same for here for here you see already got that across the back ruptor all right guys still working on a chop as you see I do things probably a lot different hit by elbows instead of getting a good tight fit on all those cuts I just put me a ban on there just no way oh I ain't got I ain't gotta worry about getting old fine fitter any things it's a rat rod anyway even if I had a good fit I'm gonna put stitches on it so yeah do it this way I'll put some little radiuses on the end each per second of something different basically all out of here just something different yes as you can tell I'm not near about finished up just getting started good so yeah don't never let nobody tell you that it's easy to chop the top on old truck like this cuz uh nope ain't easy I've got so many things going on that you wouldn't think about til you get started with it did uh makes it not easy not easy job not easy I see no internet interweb YouTube or some guys a bit probably has five or six guys anyway they said we chop the top three hours on an old Ford truck well I doubt seriously the three hours they've finished it completely they've probably cut it up got to cut tack back together but I don't know I'd be surprised they completed the job completely doors windows everything in three hour I don't know anyway they're gonna take me about three weeks just to get it just to get it stuck back together or not even close to finished not problem won't take that long I still have to cut a band put a band here on these same as I did up here to put a ban on all that so by the way if you wondering yeah I just went with a two inch chop it's good enough for me two inches of work yeah I'm just getting a long tacked together right now but uh I'm gonna come back put stitches I'm gonna be seeing some other bills but I like stitches so when I get it all tied together I'm gonna come back stitch all this stitch it every for everything go get stitches alright we're getting it just ain't got it yet appreciate you see you next time [Music] [Music] you
