#423 Beautiful Bus Conversion - Family of 11

[Music] [Music] [Music] so I'm Eric I'm Abby and this is our tiny home Scully what are we gonna call it traveling very schooner sweet our prairies Schooley cuz everybody to send a bus is early Prairie Schooley that's it yeah all right and how long have y'all been in the bus so far traveling or living living yeah yeah a little everything and traveling about sweet and now you're on a three-month hiatus and you're going to Alaska head in that direction so we might stops or somewhere and say hey let's just hang out here until next year because this place is awesome so we'll see sweet okay okay and now we're gonna go outside how much did you pay for it originally it was six thousand dollars pretty cool did you have to change put new tires on yes we did that was our big big expense in the wood stove so when we go to Alaska yeah so it's an 82 Bluebird it was originally red it was a church bus okay that's really butter they were the original owners and had a little bit of body damage on it which was just kind of structural at the staircase and that's something I fixed work on but y'all raised the roof yourselves oh yeah before we did anything I mean might if I went to touch I couldn't even stand on my tippy toes my head would hit the ceiling yeah so that whole booster yeah 30 Wow and 1/2 inches was the roof race swing that was a that pretty much set the bar for anything going forward anything difficult we have we can just say hey we raised the roof we can do this right that was the most hair-raising part yes and then all the rib sections that we replaced we had manufactured from a steel manufacturing company and then I bolted and welded all that and it was a ton of work but well worth it because we looked at buying a rig and nothing could fit our family and the four seasons so we're like even if we did find something like a towing one it still wasn't warm enough this one we got the spray foam we got the wood stove we got you know sleeping for everybody two inch rigid on the whole time like 15 people we can fit in their sleeping arrangements wait yes and it was a two-year process because I had a day job lots of nights late nights past night we understand enough oh it's all good here's the cockpit y'all oh yeah fancy air rides because what was in there was like a concrete bench pretty much oh really originally it was like that it felt like that when I drove it home everybody's individual cubby [Music] okay everybody's got their own box to have their their stuff in wait they got a wood stove and that curtain helps with the heat or the winter we were like if we were staying here longer we have a windshield cover we finally got oh cool yeah look how cool this is oh really look how cool this is it's austenite I mean those the eye bolts that we have threaded into the being the structural games on the bus so that way I mean these I can I can even get in the hammock that I mean they're needed lighting up in here yes this fantastic plenty of Windows I love it plenty of seating yeah plenty of seating Wow so these hold them pull out so I can have tables and then the suckit sub rice and oats and flour and all that we pulled those over those are their seats so they can do coloring or if we already snacks or whatever touch sweet we usually eat outside and in our picnics a little bit we use this sometimes and then and these also pulled out and I have more mattresses that I pull up from storage and it makes it to a bed three people on and then the two hammocks sleek too if you wanted and then two more people can sleep with that boy cockroaches fool for driving because everything that goes in the foyer isn't fair right now full-size board actually uh Wow electric keyboard and it's the size of a full size mattress is the flat area so I can put an air mattress so wait - there's a ukulele - guitars a southern farmhouse we went with the farm theme so we got the goat the hay feeder for our logs for the fire I was like that'll work Gary you don't look I'm sewing basket just shouldn't hammocks in aren't read a book and then all the silverton's you see scattered are books there's more schoolbooks underneath the couch shoes this looks sound and these two chairs go to our room and then we'll play twister the other day and then just since we parked last night this is normally in the foyer we tried our second AC because well we're parked because this is so slow it was not operating angle so this is the AC and that's the humidifier that is no I'm telling I didn't know we learned that pretty quick everywhere oh yeah I have that this is here just for driving everything's pretty much we haven't had any accidents there slide through the back and turn this in front of it but otherwise these are all velcro down and y'all look at this sink is that a major sink or what Wow yeah we didn't have a dream otherwise that's okay they have nine children was a solid rectangle correct like a 65 here in a year and we cut it just right I had that lip and made it fit perfectly I was like how are we gonna make this work and they don't it looks great it's not really well and it's so thick I was thinking about the holes and made your kitchen appliances folks I'm Sager now go any smaller but it works great yeah four burners somebody fourth or not but it still works oven oh I can't I got a fan in there so I can cook everything top down bottom right this we strap this down is nice having a big breakfast or family time exactly Wow then this is all baking stuff baking stuff pots and pans that's extra food I have drawers down here sweetie here I have these are all broken down out there but nothing all oh very nice we needed these three are all fake here I'll be stuck at pastas rice and beans and then I'm here please for the decorations I've got like vitam stuff we don't use normally like motrin so things that I have but I don't need them I keep them up by batteries looks nice but it's actually what I need so it works exactly bad hit in the fan is there by the AC to help you sound cooled off big pantry very sweet that one doesn't have drawers on smarter oils and chips mr. honey we usually don't have this much food in our rig there is potato chips in the dryer are what you would call our closet or some utility closet bloom's ladders experts on the paper just gotta find every place oh yeah compost dinner first aid and trash Clorox and ppm won and and number two in the other yes keep it separate is a sweet that's composting toilet folks what do ya'll use in your composting toilet wood shavings wood shavings also the main hallway for if we're making dinner or something so I went ahead and made this smooth just to help a little bit so I can open the closet up to step aside while they're getting frigerator food and work little bit easier include clean that dirty clothes hamper yes it's oh very good you know that's oh yeah oh yeah washer/dryer combo Oh Andy we do how guess this is the changing this way inside so this is the one room where you can post very cool if your company washer and dryer combo and y'all look major refrigeration here two of them very cool boy table during the day it's kind of wearing because they use it quite a bit with their toys also the tub that's the babies pop-up tub that's sweet and this is chalkboard paint all the way Oh y'all look look at the shower heads so they don't leave the water running we did all pull chains so that's very nice very nice and then there's also a faucet down here that I use for the baby so I've got a handheld and then the three cool chains okay and then like the other day cuz it's so hot here I have a clothesline up right now Oh - the clothes I don't have to run my dryer and make more heat so just shut this curtain and I have a mini time closure I'm a tiny little heater i plug in and I can shut that curtain and they're all hung up in here and I also have an exhaust fan over here that I can flip on its are showering or for drying the clothes and this it's already hooked up right now so I can't but if I had a property it opens up outside and you could string it the other way and goes out the door so I got it to move well don't y'all love the door I love the door we can go sit outside not coffee oh yeah very nice you get scout there's baby diapers wipes oh that's very cool very cool and this is his crib baby please miss bouncy use a very nice driving and going out rotate boys clothes girls clothes sheets and bathing suits this is our bed which is a king-size bed and fold down and lays on the tub that's why this cutout is here so it doesn't hit the baby's bed so drops right there Bama nice nice everybody's hair brushes nail file nail clippers very sweet and sour and Epsom salts baking powders goes down there Stephanie Oh shower sir so if you are taking a shower on you run out of soap you're not yelling across the house exactly oh sweet yeah very cool very cool now I'm gonna do a walk through very nice oh there's one thing we forgot I guess y'all want to know where these children sleep they sleep up here this is the children's loft very cool they have little candles like battery candles right you see these candles very cool very nice unit so see even a family of 11 can have a nice bus life very sweet [Music]
