there are players that break out each and every NFL season in 2024 will be no different players that broke out during the 2023 season include guys like Jordan love Nico Collins Germaine Johnson and Trey McBride there were plenty of rookies that had great years too like CJ strout puka nakua jir Gibbs and you get the point and there will be several guys that break out in 2024 whether it's a player stepping into a role left by a former teammate who left in free agency or having a guy ahead of them on the depth chart get traded this off season there will be several new bigname players by season's end and we will break down a handful of them in today's video a quick note before we get started is I wanted to include Jets receiver Garrett Wilson in today's video because I think this sky is the limit for him with a healthy Aaron roders considering he's had back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons with poor quarterback play but I think winning the 2022 offensive Rookie of the Year award kind of excludes him from being in a video like this and I do think he will take his game to another level this year but with that preface out of the way let's Dive Right In we are starting today's video with Titans running back Taj Spears Taj had a solid rookie season All Things Considered he finished the year with over 830 total yards of offense and even had 100 carries in his rookie year despite Derrick Henry playing all 17 games in his final year with the team now at first glance with taji and entering 2024 or more specifically his situation entering 2024 you may think well they signed Tony Pard in free agency to a three-year $21 million deal and that he will probably be the guy getting the majority of the carries you obviously wouldn't confuse Tony Pard with derck Henry or especially Derrick's production but based on a money game and how NFL franchises operate you would think Tony would get more touches and yes he may get more touches than Taj Spears but I don't think it's going to be by an egregious amount or that the Titans are going to run a now 27-year-old Tony Pard into the ground in one year Pard is coming off of backto back 10,000 yard years with the Cowboys but what needs to be remembered about Spears rookie season and why I like the projection of him entering the 2024 season is he averaged 5.5 yards per touch in 2023 and didn't have a lot to help him during his rookie year obviously we saw what will Levis went through during his rookie here from the offensive line and it was bad but that also applies to the Titans Run game too typically when you have a bad offensive line it's usually not like Madden where you can spend all your attributes on run blocking and have a team that can Maul people in the trenches in the ground game but be terrible in pass Pro no it's usually bad on both parts now Derrik Henry having a near 12200 yard season is dueing large part to him being Derrick Henry but I have no doubt with a much improved offensive line that Taj can have over a th000 total yards of offense this year one thing that will also benefit Taj entering 2024 is the improved receiving play the Titans will have this year now I have said before that I have questions about the Titans long-term Vision at the receiver position as all three of their guys in DeAndre Hopkins Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd are getting older but for 2024 specifically they will be an upgrade for what they had last year and at times opposing defenses would play a lot of cover one or even cover zero and basically dare the Titans receivers to get open which didn't happen a lot of the time outside of DeAndre and either forced derck Henry to make an insane play out of the backfield or will Lis to fit a ball into an impossible window by having these guys on the roster now those days are gone and not only will will Levis be a beneficiary of using all 53 yards across the field to give the offense an actual chance this year but so will Taj Spears I don't think the duo of Spears and Pard will be as productive as the duo of Montgomery and Gibbs in Detroit by any means but this should be a solid one-w punch in Nashville Derrik Henry had 308 touches last year to Spears 152 and if 460 touches is the number their backs will receive again which is 308 plus 152 then I would expect the number to be split somewhere between 260 for Tony and 200 for to a if he stays healthy for all 17 games this year I would be surprised if he doesn't have a 1,000 total yard second season to the Big Apple to discuss Kon tibbido of the New York Giants KT was the number five overall pick during the 2022 NFL draft and showed flashes during his rookie year while he only had four sacks he had 40 pressures and showed potential at 22 years old and when you were in a defense with a physically dominant guy like Dexter Lawrence like Kavon is it's pretty easy to project him being a good player for the next several years now I have voiced my concern with Kayon before and I have brought up how the 11 and a half sacks he had in 2023 weren't the same from an impact standpoint as lions pass rusher Aiden Hutchinson also having 11 a half sacks last year and the pressure numbers showed that Hutch had over 100 pressures during the 2023 season while Kavon had 43 but there 's a few reasons why I think Tibido can improve in 2024 and why I think we can see him take the next step as a player and hopefully be a good starter for the Giants for years to come the first of course is the situation and when you look at the 2023 Giants and you look at where they finished in points allowed per game as a defense which was 26th by the way you probably start to think well how good of a situation can it really be which is completely valid but the Giants allowed 80 9 points to the Cowboys in the two games they played last year and if you take away two clear outliers meaning the only two games they allowed 40 or more points in all of 2023 that 23.9 points allowed per game goes down to just 21.2 points per game which would have had them between the Jets and Browns for around the 12th best points allowed per game those two outliers game make up nearly a field goal allowed per game difference now I know you can do this with every team especially the Broncos who allowed 70 in a single game but why we bring this up is the Giants were in a lot of games last year it didn't help from a media narrative that they played at San Francisco on a Thursday night game for the nation to see and a game they would lose by 18 points and it was only an eight-point game entering the fourth quarter by the way but we bring all of this up with KT because the Giants are going to be in a lot of games in 2024 they're not going to be push and finish with a 2 and 15 record hell they didn't do this last year with a worse roster and now they also have Brian Burns on the other side to Aid with the pass rush and from a situational standpoint there's never been a better time for cavon Tibido to break out than this year and there won't be he'll turn 24 in December and he's entering the point in his career where it's put up or shut up time now I don't think KT is going to be a 15 sack player and have 80 pressures and become a second Team all pro but I think he will be better in 2024 than he was in 2023 I really do think the Giants defense is one of the more underrated units in all of football and with them it absolutely starts with the front seven we often hear about quarterbacks being set up for success and then point to a team like the Bengals for example but with Dexter Lawrence on the interior and a multiple Time pro bowler on the exterior in Brian Burns this is as close to a situation like that as you're ever going to have and when push comes to shove I think Kavon Tibido will have a breakout year this year to Western New York to discuss Khalil Shakir of the Buffalo Bills I like Khalil Shakir a lot entering the 2024 season for a few different reasons the first of course is at least for khalil's personal development as an NFL player both Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis are gone and whatever you think of those two players at this point whether Stefan is watched or Gabe was never really that good to begin with or whatever the case may be they combined for 241 targets last year it's understandable to get caught up in the Keon Coleman hype and to think Keon will have a good rookie year and it makes sense great quarterback plus a good receiving Prospect drafted early should in theory equal a successful rookie season and a good NFL player but Keon's not going to get 180 Targets in year 1 and this is where khil Shakir comes in whether you know this or not khil actually had 536 yards over the course of the final 10 games of the 20123 regular season which included three 90 plus yard games down the stretch now what needs to be remembered when discussing khil Shakir as a breakout player is what he can be as a player and what he will not be as a player now if you expect khil to have 13 or 1,400 or even 1,500 receiving yards this year or any year in his career I think that's incredibly lofty expectations for the player he is not only that but you also have to remember the situation he's in moving forward Kio will have to deal with Josh Allen's rushing yards which naturally is going to limit the type of production his receivers are going to have he's also going to have James Cook in the same offense Dalton cancade in the same offense and now Keon Coleman realistically speaking I think Kalo can get to 1,000 yards in 2024 and for multiple years after that but I did want to mention that part about his limitations moving forward because I don't want this to come across as Koo is going to be the next Stefon Diggs and that he's going to effortlessly replace him because I certainly don't think that's going to be the case touchdowns are always going to be a big variance in Buffalo's offense due in large part to how often Josh runs the football Josh had 15 rushing touchdowns during the 2023 season and while that was obviously a career high for him I think that will prove to to be an outlier over the course of his career and I don't think he will have quite that many this year and I would also be shocked if KH Shakir and Dalton concade combined for just four receiving touchdowns which is what they had last year now what needs to be remembered is Buffalo had a top 10 scoring offense in 2023 and that was with not a lot of production at least from a touchdown standpoint from both Shakir and K Cade I'm not going to give an official prediction in terms of what I think KH Shakir will have touchdown wise this year because he could have 11 and if I predicted three the numbers would be way off and again it's going to be affected by how often Josh runs the football in the Red Zone but I do think Kalo will be around the 75 reception and around 1,00 to 1100 yards in 2024 and I think he will prove to be a player that Buffalo wants to keep around for the long run and it's going to start with a breakout year this year now from Buffalo to Kansas City we go to discuss Chiefs line backer Leo Chanel Leo played sparingly in his rookie year defensively and took on an increased role in his second season he was a late third round pick back in 2022 for the Chiefs and has gotten better as time's gone on when Leo came out of Wisconsin back in 2022 he tested very well in the pre-draft process as he finished in the 85th percentile in the 10 yard split 90th percentile in the 40 yard dash 96th percentile in the vertical and 94th percentile in the broad jump now the prerequisite for playing linebacker is not just being a great athlete or being good in the underwear Olympics 2 months before the draft Leo is obviously a great athlete but not only is he a great athlete he is very instinctual as a player and it showed during his time at Wisconsin and it showed during the 2023 playoff run this past year we will break down more of the chief's depth chart and what to expect from certain players during the 2024 team previews but there was a reason the chiefs were completely fine with letting Willie gay leave in free agency and Willie was a player who started 47 games over the past four years after being a second round pick back in 2020 Leo is also a bit of a throwback player in the sense of him being a thumper as a linebacker and we mentioned his percentiles in all of the pre-draft measurements and while yes those are impressive numbers Leo also benched 22 5 34 times 34 for reference his teammates guards Trey Smith and Creed Humphrey did 32 reps and 29 reps on the bench Leo's power as a linebacker I don't want to say generational because I think that word is used entirely too often but he has extremely good power and is a big outlier in today's era at the position not only that but like we discussed with Kavon Tibido of the Giants Leo is in a great situation for him to succeed in not just 2024 but for years Beyond too the chief's Dynasty hasn't happened strictly because of Patrick Mahomes Andy Reid and Travis Kelce this dynasty has happened due in large part to the defense the 2022 Chiefs draft class alone netted them Trent McDuffy George caraus Leo Chanel and Brian Cook and technically yes Isaiah Pacho too and all of those guys are currently on their rookie contracts McDuffy and car lsts have already broke out and especially McDuffy but I think Leo is next in line and I think there is a very good chance he will be a pro bowler or very close to it by the end of this year there's also a very good chance he would not play in the Pro Bowl by the time the game was actually being played Trenton Simpson of the Ravens is another player I think is in a good situation to have a good year as he will replace former Raven Patrick Queen who is now a member of the Steelers Simpson will play alongside Quan Smith and should be a key contributor to the 2024 Ravens defense Cardinals Receiver Michael Wilson should get close to 1,000 yards this year as he is coming off of a 565 yard rookie season and will receive very favorable matchups in 2024 as he will be the number three receiving option behind Marvin Harrison Jr and Trey McBride I hope you enjoyed and if you did please like And subscribe as only about 36% of people watching are subscribed and helps the channel tremendously until next time please
