just a okay it's live cool so was I gonna do our supposed to rename this livestream let's go and let's do this I think that's actually working what am I supposed to be doing I have so many tabs open right now yeah I was checking out this guy's I was about to steal some other ideas from him what are you doing today I felt like doing this product here we're gonna try making a non shitty version of this we'll see how that works but I first need to make sure that this YouTube nonsense is actually working I should really get an properly encoder for this and stop using shadowplay for streams it'll be so much easier to manage but such is life okay I just need to bring up these chats you know so I can actually see them and don't forget how did I bring up this chat last time remember I had a whole whole page dedicated to this chat section which was cool how did I bring up this chat last time remember I had a whole whole page horatii um think I'll have this reference on the other screen it might not be best for you guys but don't hold me so I'm going to do that and let me just download it this one save it to the desktop cool I'm in California I'm in South Africa I almost typed this thing to respond which would be really stupid if I just responded by typing I stay in Cape Town South Africa I'm from India that's a variety of you hey you don't all come from the same place I was really shocked huh I was on tinder once and mashes this one chick and then she told me that she washed my YouTube videos I was the creepiest thing I've ever experienced but yeah I don't often get people that are in South Africa mostly from America India not too much in Europe actually but a lot of Americans some Asians as well what am i doing okay so we're gonna try and make this I haven't bit more time today so I don't need to need to rush too hard but at the same time I don't waste time so this thing looks like it needs tall subdivisions can this keyboard work thank you and I'm recording the right screen cool we're set to go can I have a chilled Sunday I'll see I woke up about an hour ago so today's a chilled Sunday my dad's out until 3:00 so we got time to do nothing I wish I could do more interesting stuff but I just have nothing to do I was thinking of doing my thing is I do want to do more bigger projects when live-streaming cuz they're more interesting but at the same time I can't work the same if I know someone's watching and I have to do other things like respond to comments and make sure all the things are going on I just end up not being very efficient at it so I ended up doing small stuff like making products and stuffing out and when I'm nice trying but they're so fun to do a lot less pressure than making a YouTube video a YouTube video at least five people are gonna complain about something a livestream people don't care so I should be measuring this thing I don't know it's wrong with me what's the best way to measure this thing in terms of it is a bit of an angle so it's a bit tricky but I guess we can always just fix it later so we're just gonna go and insert this as a reference like so and then scale this down I don't often do this but just to save me time in long let's do that that the best well thank you so you can secure it up like this and then hopefully I'm not whispering to myself but sometimes do that and then we can push this up you like my workflow shots mate I appreciate you I appreciate you and then I can also see there's a dot here that should be going up like so let's go copy paestum endo and then what's actual scale of this object this I guess would be 10 centimeters Janssen you me just feels a bit too sure let's go with a good solid I should use a ruler but it doesn't really matter if I'm a few centimeters off let's go with 12 centimeters in height scales down told 12 centimeters cool sweet beans and this is actually what product grinding is so easy this is actually quite a simple model to do I think the cap is the most difficult part and even that's not that tricky and we need to go and push this up the thing I'm worried about is getting the lighting right and those drops do look a bit complex there are some bubbles in there which I don't think I even want to attempt I should be doing that stuff because it obviously will improve the realism of my products but often they don't the clients don't even care I don't even notice actually I do care but I don't notice I think my latest client no I'm not my next climate but my latest video is that watch one very dark scene watch didn't look real but he said it looked good so I didn't have to put in more I fit I didn't put any more effort than I had to okay now the whole sky can use this reference anymore let me just go and delete this reset to default and then there's a little bit of a bump here so let's just go and fifty percent your dumbest similar bottle in wine tutorial er I have done that a lot of my product rendering is pretty much the same thing over and over you get different types of bottles and bosses and stuff I got the i7 87k is the best viewport performance best for pupil performance it depends I am NOT expert in terms of hardware but it depends on what your actual computers using when doing viewport things like After Effects cinema 4d cinema 4d only use one course so just less cause at higher something called less cause at higher my mind game like no less cause and higher not bitrate why am I thinking and recording let me go Google this is frustrating me CPU core clock speed there we go that's cause that higher clock speed is better if you want your better view performance just because things like cinema 4d only uses one really things like After Effects uses around 4 to 6 I would say 4 and then the more cores you go that sort of just fades out in terms of performance like the log diminishing returns but I shouldn't be doing this yet we are generally things would flow up CPUs with less cause and higher clock speeds work in terms of viewports and performance depending on the soffit way obviously and Intel generally has less cause but higher clock speeds MD generally has more cause at lower clock speeds so something like a 7k would have a fairly high clock speed even though I think it's only six cause or last time I remember it was six cause and something like I don't remember what the clock speed for that was so yeah it's pretty good yeah Bri my final video will be posted the slide stream will be posted I'm not going to delete it so you don't even have to watch right now you can go do whatever you want and I'll post this later okay I should be paying attention to what I'm doing so this thing should be a bit more round I think will delete this line and they'll push this down and then I'll smooth it out again and see and then we'll save this to many folders 2018 have I done a Heineken thing before no how do you spell this thing no it's fine I mean I can't it was right yes shhh [Music] this is not looking right at all we need to push this up and and this needs to go and I feel like this bump in here is too high as well it's just going to x-ray this thing it's a joy always not I think we should push this down slide in like so cool beans that I actually like the way this looks here it is round in the reference but I think I'm gonna keep it like this this looks does it look better what is it look worse I think it actually looks worse I'm not sure this bump here feels too small but I guess it's actually the same size it is on the reference and then this top cap here actually has around the top not a straight top so let's just go and do then I think I'll just bump this out slightly so we'll go and do that is that let's go higher and then let's just drop this Thanks no that's too much I don't like that let's go that's really throwing me off I mean think I need to drop this light Oh it's bugging me [Music] okay I think that's fine let's leave that gonna say that don't touch it yeah because I get the Trib I used a thread ripper and it's really bad working with bigger projects in cinema 14 I try night yeah I was really going I had such a debate with myself for such a long time between AMD and Intel I was gonna go for originally I was going for a for GPU build and I was gonna get a thread Ripper because of the PCI lanes but I knew my video editing well video editing apparently it's actually faster with a thread repair just because of the amount of cos but I knew things like I knew I'd have a what's it called I forgot the word again no clock speed on the COS and stuff and I would lack in some areas and eventually I decided not to go for a 4G people are probably I'm going for a a to GPU build with the option of getting a third card but now I'm going for Intel route with higher clock speeds and lower CPU cause I think that's the best option in my opinion depends what you're doing if you're just doing 3d stuff and you're working with huge scenes thread rip is great if you're not really doing that working with smaller scenes and you do a lot of video editing and other stuff you want viewport performance and I think Intel is the data route but I'm no expert in this stuff so it all depends on what you're doing what else do we need to model we need to model that cat I think we'll just stop doing this live viewer here as well just so we can speed things up a bit what kind of company let's go with a widescreen just cuz it makes my life easier you can drop this down products generally have a looking up sort of motion make themselves feel good you have to look up at me like I'm a special so we're gonna go and have this thing sitting close to the floor pony up and I don't want it to be too telephoto I think portrait lens is fine but if I move closer let's see how this gets affected I guess it's fine product feels big now though that's my issue I think I'll go a bit more telephoto and let's go 100 millimetres three six it's writing me off okay I don't know what to do with this let's push this back even further we used to going for the whole Instagram vibe but I know that does annoy me with the viewport so what am i doing probably go on its door I put this in this background is quite interesting I think they're going with something like plane let's go and lock this camera here and I think they're also bending it so I just go and reduce the size get rid of that thing 200 200 let's go 115 then we can go and bring in a bend let's go 90 oops I feel like I'm betting wrong way let's push this up just down oh there's no subdivisions that's why don't I turn to time let's go 150 here as well and we can just push this back oh we can go push this back so you got something more like two one seven five actually won 7-5 7-5 Arats we've read a good start this bottles throwing me off the proportions are not right this high part yes I think should be thicker my reference with my reference image is it a bit of an angle so I need to take that into account and we need to change these settings and rot I don't mess with this I think this is right it doesn't look great but I think it's correct this part is wrong that I could spend years trying to fix that I think it's mine you need to be pushed down a bit and the rest of the bottle is fee a cura this might be a bit too thick but I think it's this part yeah that needs to be wider let's go and do that let's take another look uh Mindy I think is starting to feel that better let's go make this minor let's go and maybe push this down lightly and then here we can expand this out as well if I could select the right lines I'll be great oops let's go and select these pushes down a bit okay that's bit better and I want a section here to be around a bit I hate doing this part here this part could take forever to get right I should probably add an extra line they'll probably help me but let's do that and see what happens right in the line here and smooth it that looks slightly flatter that's gone I think it is a bump yet that's good enough I don't think I will be touching this model again so let's go and save this save unless we can only just go and extrude it then we can deal with all these lines so how thick is this bottle it's not that thing I was at a bar last night and these glasses they would drop from a table onto the floor onto like one guy knocked this glass over and it literally flew and hit a concrete road and the glass I don't know if there was a thickness of the glass or just really strong glass I don't know if you get different types of strengths but that thing would not break it's insane how durable the glasses they is there nothing like flying and hit the road I thought it cracked and smashed but that was just ice cubes let me check inside yeah there's generally in closer areas where this polygon wears lines and stuff close together there's issues but I think miss mesh is fine it almost feels way too thin for me actually I need to keep it take into account that I'm viewing this very close up so let's try and add some thickness to this let's go a bit off the reference image that generally happens you just stop caring about what it looks like in real life and you start caring about if it looks good I think I had a bit of thickness it would look better some let's get rid of this line this line the good times the good times we had I just think feel what is happening here okay that's right and let's take a look at the bottom thing that's also rise or gitche now we need to invert these normals and then add a material onto it I'm glad you subs too bro welcome to the fam brokenness that's right epsilon needs to go down and we need to change this to loss and we need fake shadows I don't know why that's not one by default and 0.5 to I heard the new version of octane octane Falls coming out early next year and hopefully I know some of the new versions have like render settings and stuff on default and they have a lot of these issues fixed I hope going wait for that I'll just make my life easier I don't have to do all these things that I generally take on defaults hopefully they've fix that stuff I don't even know what I'm talking about we need to make this thing green I'll probably end up changing this as the lighting of stuff changes but for now this is a good start the good times good times we had now we need to do that drops the liquid like where does the easier so let's stop there let's turn off the textures how high do you want this liquid though somewhere like there so let's go select these inside phases split and then we can add it in where do we want this line somewhere not halfway but just above all thing then these also these like bubbles on it you can see it's like some bubbles going on there that looks it looks doable but it also looks time-consuming so let's not do that this feels too low you're like this line should be higher let's go something right there I'm gonna delete these and I recently learnt that your measured actually go through the glass if you want it to look better so let's go x-ray this and instead of scaling it you want it to all expand equally so we're just gonna go and extrude it but how are we gonna know if it's going through though let's go turn on these lines just extrude it like so I think that's good enough and then we need to close this top part here as well so let's go so do this again delete that line zero zero zero zero and optimize that a good times dr. Elson you make sure that the subdivisions are the same on both three and let's take a look here it's x-ray this make sure it's all going through I got times we had we need another one called liquid that looks horrible I'm not gonna lie I have no idea what I'm gonna do about that let's turn on Sandvik shadows I should actually give the glass no the glass should have a color hmm that's really bugging me I don't like this part yeah I don't know what's going on there I guess we can leave liquid in just because we'll fix we'll fix up that stuff later let's try and start lighting the scene probably so we add an area light what's my motherboard actually doesn't want motherboard I have right now it's because my mother I had a motherboard before it died and then I my CPU so old that I had to go to some dodgy area and find this motherboard because it was the only one that would support the CPU because it was how old and I actually don't even know what motherboard it is so I can't tell you that sorry Bree broski's let's go 900 all the good times good times when am I gonna host again please I don't know hey I just sort of wake up and I'm like eh I feel like doing a live stream and here we are I'm thinking about investing in a camera though and doing a lot more YouTube content like logging and short edits Q&A stuff I got I think that would help my 3ds will as well just having a physical camera and can sort of combine the two in the future but in terms of live streams I don't know when the next one will be so here they have a light that a room lights sort of like on the side here let's get rid of this inside liquid it's really bugging me and comments 90 degrees that looks correct and then I also have softer rim lights at around 90 degrees which is wider I don't know how I'm gonna go about doing that I could do it through an HDR eye but that sounds like effort right now so how are we going to blow this light I've tried using gradients that doesn't work well you'd be interesting if I sort of passed it through a plane and blurred the plane on the fella factor I guess it doesn't have to look perfect and the HDR eyes off so you can go and work on this background now this light might be too bright let me just see call this BG and then there's two gradients in the background so let's do that first we need two gradients we could do two of them and add them on top of each other what's the best way to do a gradient cinema for these one looks like ass so let's use octane and see if this works if it doesn't work or just stick with seven or four years see this is my issue with octane so I don't like this how do we fix that let's go and make this white again make America America great again this is annoying can't I just have a sink a simple gradient so let's use the cinema forties and we radial no circular and need a position that's right I actually don't know how to do that I don't think we can I'm sure there's a transform UV transform oh that's cool hey does this work what's wrong I don't know you could do that that's cool is this thing tiling though that's a question it is that's not great but I think it's fine use the textures in the texture channel and knock tonight oh that could be an interesting idea maybe I should try that I used to add a emission texture to your plane and then had a gradient in that but it did look great this thing looks off this floor it looks very splotchy that looks awful I'm not gonna lie let's try octane light again and see I remember doing this before without change that's my issue I just don't remember how I literally the project I'm working on now literally has this it has a background with a gradient on it and I can't remember it my god it's hot all the windows are closed okay so let's see if you can figure this out let's go gradient let's go radio smoothing let all the options here keep it constant that's interesting maybe it's because of this texture projection okay that's not what you want we want to go okay so that's linear what's cubic what's the difference yeah what if you change just to mesh and let's go linear just clamp this down and see what happens I was a fine line here No okay that's weird all right I'm getting somewhere this is actually not we're not getting some way online well that's not yet let's go box get on what's happening there good times good times good times we had let's go back to spiracle because we're lazy like that so I've done this before I guess I could just go like that like that okay I can't even move this thing now how do I move this let's try moving this and like so and then we need to clamp this down slightly oh my god that was a lot more complicated than it needs to be and then we add another one on top of that can I manage three points execute Hertz with an 18 gig ram I honestly don't know how gigahertz will affect performance to be honest I don't know the difference between 3.6 and 3.7 so I would ask me about that and 18 gig ram i only have 16 so yeah 18 gigs of ram you have more than I have right now I'm upgrading to 32 but if you those lips off if you manage your stuff rights you won't need more than 16 unless you're working on huge projects and stuffing out let's get rid of this I'd know it quick let's just go and deal with a second one here turn shouts fading off at the back there it would be good this is annoying can I rotate this what if I rotate it a plane and then push this back is just making a difference or not no small great stuff and that's not what we want oh is it it might be let's go and push this back further no but no it's not going up is just going back in z space okay for this one we'll just use the cinema 4d gradient because I'm on this this plane is also too far back so we'll go and push this all the good times the good times good times we had a good time a good time spinning then we need to go and make sure that these actually the right colors so I'll make this white make this like does that right it's like so until it's nice and pixelated because that's obviously what we want and too much contrasts how do we reduce that let's go it's actually a transform node here I'm using a new view transform that's why let's go push this up and then can we scale this down no oh I could do what I was doing before make this White's make this black and then invert it why does this thing make my life difficult I honestly don't understand what I think about the RT X 1080 ri I don't know if there is an RI but I know there's a 1080 Ti and I'm actually getting one in a few months or so I I think it's um I guess this contrasts I should be doing this all in post but it's such is life I think the I keep losing my train of thought sorry I think it's a bit of ahead of its time like it's a bit unprepared and it's kind of just I think they panicked a bit when releasing it I honestly don't feel comfortable getting it but at the same time I think it's the best option in terms of 3d work just because well in terms of my work I'm doing path tracing pretty much one percent of the time and even if there's a slight chance that the ray tracing engine could improve the path tracing even if it's by 10 percent in the future I just think it's a better option it's really quick it's faster than 1080 TI so that's already a plus and then in the future if they can implement the right racing technology and just make it even 2 times faster that's already another graphics card um all right let me just do this I really hate this contrast it's annoying why is it so contrasting I guess oh I feel like an idiot why don't I just use lights I'm stupid this is how I didn't last time so I'm gonna delete all that okay let's not little that cuz I just did a lot of effort let me just create a new plane a new material sorry and let's try adding some light so we'll go and get rid of these two lights and I'll carry on with this r-tx trend just now let me just do this [Music] man it's hot I mean you're gonna open the window before I freak out lose my mind calmly if I don't think of this idea I've literally done this in so many projects let's go how small do we want this light to be though let's go three three kind of do I want to ha shadow or not so that's good 25 and then we can just reduce the power down to like ten let's go fifteen and we also need a background light so let's just reduce this down to five yes the r-tx cards remember are saying that thing I was basically saying even though they all kind of head at a time they're not the greatest bang for their buck and all but if they do help octane render in the future even if they make octane render twice as fast because they raced racing technology that's an extra GPU that you're getting it's basically more power and compact in the nest space so originally I was gonna go for 410 ATT eyes but when they are TX cards or at least I was like I could get 220 ATT eyes and have the power for 1080p eyes and so left space for another two in the future so my opinion I just think it's even though it's not the greatest greatest value for money ratio it's it is sort of that option if you're doing 3d rendering if you're playing games and stuff that's a whole different story but I'm not really worried about gaming performance so I don't know I've been trying to figure out if you can do spotlights inside of oh you can you can just use in IES light so let me do that oh yes where's my lights go with this one cool beans you could have just created a spotlight behind the bottle and adjusted to fall off get that effect I know I don't know why I didn't think of us in the first place I was trying to do it through a gradient like an idiot oops I'm doing really bad things right now let me undo this do you want your own idea cool let's add in this is light again and I think I'll do one for the floor as well just delete this and replace that there you go [Music] and and this floor has a bit of reflection I think I need to reduce this to your darkest floor maybe 20 let's go with green let's go fifteen twenty five and then we can make these lights brightest so you can go 15 or five and then 25 it's an actually agreeing this is more of a yellowish color yellowish tint I don't want to mess with that though I guess we can change it we can go up with green and floor what would it look like with the reflection we can add a reflection to just the floor so we're gonna go probably gonna do this Oh pop in our edge to our eye again and then we can go gradients no gradient [Music] the good times good times good times things are not going well today I'm not going to lie this is not working out at all okay let's reduce this brightness down to one percent and then we can get rid of these two lights these lights here we can I'm up to 25 let's just get rid of this gradient so long it's off to 50 let's go 100 this glass is also being a bit of an issue in terms of lighting getting some hot pixels going let's go 1000 if I bring this grain back in does that affect much no let's go I think 1000 is good soon as I add this fight in no things just go crazy 2500 and we can go 150 can push this one push this 10 minute 10 minute then we can reduce this fall down 125 and then this lights brightness we can drop that on to 50 not 25 I should really add in this other stuff like the lid and the graphic and stuff before I even mess with these settings but I think we'll do that because this is horrible let's bring in Photoshop a window I don't know what Bex means bro various video shot brewskis you mean specs probably it always lost me my specs and it's really annoying because like just copy-paste and my specs aren't all that great I literally just have a 1080 Ti that's the only thing that's good in my PC but I'm gonna open this window oh I'm gonna die of heat kind of wish I didn't pick something with gloss in because things are tricky so we need to make this graphic and the graphic kind of fills in this perfect little space yeah so I'll just go it's like ring-ring-ring mesh split graphic no-no-no let's bring in Photoshop and it's download this texture a beer that's also green Oh are you asking huh no I see now making Heineken this thing I needed to strip this off the internet where's this logo and there we go you ask broski's I don't know I pick something so complicated because clearly I can't do it we need to get rid of this transparency yeah or do we actually how do you want to do this we could either make a PNG make a transparent now we could mask it out in octane did I see the tip I don't want to be talking about Brown can I keep spelling signal Anakin okay so we need this this white and this wanted to be transparent we can either do an alpha in I think we'll do that we'll make it transparent and Photoshop and then inside of octane I think I'll just make it off did I see that tip an octet did I see that tip it's very useful with what I can graphic label you didn't give me a tips I don't why are you pointing to that anyways let's go and I just think it work I'll be sick okay my good times good times we had the good times [Music] [Music] I think I'll make my life easy and not make this section here transparent so think we will get rid of all of this so I can just roam in you can just go and paint this back in all the good times good times good times we had good times [Music] what's going on here that's not good I kind of want to undo all the snow if I wasn't in such a rush I wouldn't be doing this in such a sloppy way but since this is just for a live stream I honestly don't mind what happened so you bring this thing back what does it look like in the background we don't need this I honestly feel like just lighting this whole thing with an HD alright because these lights are annoying me [Music] you put a youtube link and I didn't get it it probably deletes the links for good reasons and the last time I watched the tutorial was like 10 years ago so [Music] image texture work every day is I can PSD now let's not do that undo that you can go cylindrical bring that in fit object yes and then we'll rotate this graphic 90 degrees and then we'll go alpha and [Music] copy-paste normal I think this thing how can we do this let's go kind of scale this thing down without messing up the smoothness I can't save I should be kif okay that is reload all guchi then we need to make this thing small away all good times good times we had let's go reload now looks too fat I'll go up in the hundreds of pixels let's go 148 and reload I wish this thing could just update instead of me having to tell it to update let's go 200 pixels mall 3 ring I think I was good enough doesn't feel like it's rewrapping around but I guess that could just be the whole perspective of things I might actually change this camera angle think we will go portrait lens and then I think we'll make this thing throw so let's go to I feel like I need to I need to better that I feel like I need to redo the whole scene it's just get rid of some of our necessary stuff right now this bottle is not looking that great same it feels too fat so I might scale some of the stuff down but because I have gone and made it thick and added a graphic and everything that could be tricky I could do it the lazy way and just scale it all down together it's got an add-in and all just put it all in there that's good 90% let's bring this up another 5% let's go 105 yeah it's still often I guess you could find it by youtubing these keywords tip 186 false placing labels alright broski's this graphic should still be bigger to know I scaled it down let's reload this this thing looks so off I don't know why it's bugging me I might because its diffuse texture and this is also bugging me that I have to press this every single time okay that looks slightly better now you know the graphic is different to the one in the reference so that could be part of it mmm this puzzle is annoying me that pot looks off and this section here's a bit off I don't know I'm striving for perfection right now what do we need to do we need to do this lid I think we'll just skip to that these side bars are annoying as well let me just get rid of them let's go with 12 after you need to count good point five this thing has I'd say one two three four five six seven eight nine mmm let's go with eight eight times two three other side sixteen and then those bumps as well couldn't easily be a thirty-two does this feel like too much though how do we want to do this let's go with 16 and then what we can do I don't know how I want to do this what we can do is we could scale these it could add some lines and extrude them that could be a good option I think we'll do that I'm using a ten atti brewskis oh good times the good times like ok that's all something's clearly not right here let's try that again carrots we had how do we deal with this problem if I added a line here and then try that I can't do anything good times the good times we had what was I doing I was meant to go and okay so the actual lid it's quite a bit smaller so it should be like that and then how did I even start with doing this I was meant to add in a line somewhere up here stop snapping somewhere yeah and then I believe I was meant to go and extrude some of these in somehow I don't remember though okay I remember now I supposed to do this I think yeah let's just make sure that it'll probably be off that who cares [Music] God is off and if I go all the good times to get times to get [Music] mm-hmm that looks ugly as this shading there's something wrong here okay we do this and that's is it yeah [Music] like good times good times [Music] honestly I'm a bit over it so I'm just gonna leave it and let it do its thing I almost forgot I was dreaming for a second there okay so we need to go and make these faces I shouldn't be worrying about perfection now so I think I'm just gonna let it be what it wants to be and just extrude this that's gonna screw this and give it a bit of thickness that's actually too thin that's I guess it's fine and then you know we can just sloppily play around the sizing and stuff this top part here needs to be more round if I go all the good times good times ticket times we had so this actually goes and wraps around its top section here so this lid is even higher than I thought it was that's why things have been feeling off so we can go and actually extrude this up and let's turn off these caps before that ruins our life and let's go and add some lines and here cool and then the lid can sit on top of that but things still not high enough just go push this up even more push this down and then we can scale this and my ears are getting sore I think it's these headphones how long have I been streaming for like 30 minutes [Music] ouch it's been an hour and 15 minutes Jesus help me please this needs this is extruded too far in and I could go and fix that but I don't want to sign books my main issue is lighting stall I still live in I haven't haven't even done the drops I don't even feel like doing anymore that lead is so bad see you our projects take days and days to do instead of just a couple of hours a lot of people have asked me to make a commercial from scratch and do a tutorial on that and like people don't understand how long these things take this thing should be green though and this thing isn't even that methylene let's go on point three and make this a greenish color and then we can go maybe three no so much let's go 1.6 1.6 and let's go 40 let's go this direction no like this let's go let's go 30 something Marie off about these deflections I think it's so sexual HR I need to be brighter and if I go a good times the good times good times we had ok so I think this lighting would look better if it wasn't lost I think that's the main issue right now maybe I should change it to a glossy you while I'm doing the lighting no it looks different but it being gloss is making a huge difference on the preview times and stuff right now what if I drop this down to 10 okay and let's bump this maybe up to 64 and we could rub these down 230 not only this will make a huge difference but there are quite a lot of light bounces going around on this floor here for some strange reason let's just go and make sure that this actual reflection channel is correct because I don't feel like it is let's go and copy paste yeah so there shouldn't be any specular on the background but there is there what if I paste is in the roughness channel as well [Music] makes no difference to my life apparently it's clearly something going on with the lighting and if I go so the graphic we can go and add some roughness to it and I guess we can add some drops on we'll do something very basic for now just so we can get an idea of what it will look like um yeah point one let's go what just Rob look like that's almost too much that's good let's go ten that's what's good actually and then we can go and make a Collider out of this thing and if I go do the drops are only up to where the liquid is that's interesting so we need to bring this liquid back in and then we need to go and make a line here all the good times good times don't know why the song is stuck in my head I woke up and it was in my head and I've been singing it ever since 2015 drop drop my spine and don't want to make this editable I feel like I should [Music] [Music] turn this off let's bring this in here oh I've been really thinking about doing more real life videos and really tempted to think that would even improve the quality quality of tutorials I do but it also takes effort so let's go rent instances let's go make this small at point four and then we can go and two thousand and then where's this thing P P P P P P P pushpots one scallop on point one point two is that too much I feel like it is one five three then here we can go and call us liquids [Music] only issue of dealing with a lot of transparent materials as it takes forever just to preview it a lot of this should be done in Photoshop but such is life all the good times okay so this light is our top light I believe let me just try to organize this better okay so this is the BG ice-fishing lights and let's bring in an all and we'll go lighting this is our cap this is our boss oil these are our drops this is the top light I think yeah top thanks key lights room lights and this can all go into lighting so now I'm not so confusing I'm flicking around seen here this BG needs to be brighter let's go mm this floor needs to be brighter let's go 200 feel like the lights could use more power as well I don't overdo it though let's go fifty a rim light could be a bit brighter as well 50 on that side and background light I think I'll make more of a tall thin type of light if I'm looking at it it should be Taunton yeah and just to make my life easier I think I should not go more of a squarish composition let's not do it that way actually let's go on to 8-0 so in 20 just to keep our camera and everything the same oh good times good times good times we had don't shut down today now I've got less to render and now we can make sure this is rendering collect correctly let's bump this up to 256 let's try that again okay so the floor needs to be more of a greenish more of a yellowish color that could be the lights themselves they may be more in the cooler areas of the colors I could drop these down to 6,000 it's got a 5/5 and then we can play with this floor again if I drop this down to the yellows oranges am i editing the wrong thing I am great stuff so what's this oh that's the lid ruffle I should rename this to lid and then I'll rename this to floor okay now we can try changing this color here let's go 100 okay we're getting more into that yellowish greenish color which is what's on this reference yeah and then the bottle as well a glass is more of a yellowish greenish what am i touching those things no okay so this thing should be let's go and mighty I could go and do condensation and roughness maps and bump maps and all that but I honestly too lazy to do that this texture here needs a what I would do if I felt like Danis right now I'll probably go and fix that cap firstly that thing looks horrible I would probably add some metal metal wear to the edges of it add a graphic on top even though you wouldn't see it I'd add some sort of papers texture to this graphic here slight scratches and slight fingerprint marks nothing noticeable where you can actually see it but just tiny amount so it's there and the bottle I would add a tiny maybe some I'll probably overlay a texture some slight fingerprints and that's pretty much it then probably take this in a Photoshop and do a bit of color grading and stuff but other than that I don't think I do anything else depending on what my plans are for the scene but I think I'm done for now too tired for this I can go and bump this maximals up to 2 0:48 it is still so hot what's the temperature right now I feel like I'm gonna sweat right now I am in a blanket but that's just as comfortable so don't judge me what do you guys think about me getting a proper video camera like a like a proper proper one like depth of field and all cuz I'm really tempted to do mix of logging slash tutorials like and Andre LeBrock does octane tutorials and he does that as well it's very interesting Peter McKinnon does photography tutorials and it makes it look like a vlog slash toriel vibe I do I mostly want to do it because I in the future I'd like to have the option of going into film things like The Avengers and stuff with after composites 3d footage of real-life footage it would be helpful to know how actual camera works not just a 3d one but also also have the benefit of improved with YouTube video qualities and stuff like that and stuff just something I've been thinking about getting since I have nothing else to do with my money 24 degrees it feels like 50 this this is really bugging me I think that has to do with these minimum samples being too low let's go still run the buffer and re do this and see if that makes a difference good times good time just get I'm just be heard I guess I have like another 30 minutes kill so I might as well just add bit more to the scene on if turning off the depth of field is not for now would improve the quality of this preview here guess a minimum samples I'm barely making a difference so let's drop this down to 60 again let's turn off our depth of field and see if that's what's doing this it could just be a lot of sample counts but that's all I can think of so it's not the depth of field it's probably just no sample count what was this one for though I think he was on five point six okay let's do some layering I haven't done this in a while a lot of my recent work if you add some dirt and scratches and stuff they actually say oh it has to look perfect and shiny no realism it has to look like a generic advert where everything's perfect and it doesn't look real at all so haven't been doing that much lately but it'll be fun to do it now so I might as well do it now it already looks like it has dirt on it all let's start with a bump map all the good times the good times have all these dashes and I used like 10% of them repeatedly wow that actually might be perfect let's just drop this down 0.01 0.02 and then we can go copy that's even too much actually let's drop the stones or point 0 1 5 paste into our maybe that's a tricky one let's don't know that's about let's duplicate this and let's go and add this do you want to add it or multiply it I think you're gonna multiply it what multiplied node is tricky though I just deleted the wrong thing let's go multiply it and see if we can do this correctly bring up the power and like so then here we can drop this down to two right and then this thing needs a normal map as well [Music] that looks wrong let's try different paper let's see what does this look like let's try this one I think that's right let's pump up this pot to 25 and ci3 even though on my reference this is a plastic and it's not like a paper texture I'm just going for paper because I can ain't nobody gonna stop me doing what I want to do I should come up with a song like that I'll be sick like I need to restart 740 because it's being annoying I'll open up the texture and everyone update let's go add in some fingerprints boy can hear my computer cranking right now it's making some noise I'm actually worried about getting multi-gpu set up because of that I have to go for hybrid cars oh she does don't even have a choice because it's already loud now and imagine having three different graphics cards it'll drive you mad that could be a cool texture concentration if I was going for that what happens if I apply that on the bottle that could be interesting let me just duplicate this and keep sailing that did we get that as well and then and then in here I'm just go say with that but for this one I think we will go with the black one then you're working on pump this power up to 25 I forgot about this alpha Channel what happens if we copy this alpha channel and paste it in the diffuse of the channel that works my boys and then this fingerprint oh my god can you just okay so this fingerprint should actually be more of a dark brown [Music] and then here let's go reset the gamma and let's just drop this opacity down to like five so it's there it's not noticeable gonna say and then we can try and see what we can do about this bottle yeah I wanted to do some condensation all of a sudden I've been inspired so this thing should have a glass underneath and the fingerprints on top but now we have to worry about UV mapping I think we will go try cleaner [Music] [Music] and we can just go to unsettle use yeah let's go 15 let's go 25 let's go that's good enough actually I just need to scale this thing down so in here we can go UV transform scale no that's too does that too much no and then we can use my favorite texture of all time which is those Oh max this one let's go with the 2k texture and make sure that the scale is right again I can't even tell let's just go copy this scale and then we must drop it and see too far maybe not too much do we want to put the sinner Roughness channel or do we want to keep it the way it is so many hard questions think we will go and just drop the opacity of it to keep it the way it is make life easier let's go point three point one and hopefully doesn't look horrible it isn't a condensation he enough for me I should be layering these things on top of each other but I'm kind of feeling super lazy right let's try layer one more I don't want to spend ten years on this project because I'm probably going to delete it right off to the stream stone but we'll go and layer one more on top we can copy this and bring in something that has drops on it like this one then we need to make sure that the scaling is correct as well so let's just go replace that let's just bring this back up to one reset the gamma and take a look at our scale Oh it also has tri planar mapping so I need to go and do that too and if I go I should be mapping this only to the outside of the bottle that's what I should be doing I think I'll do that let's just just to make things tiny a bit more realistic so here we go let's go the selection select set selection we'll put this on the there and then we'll just bring in the glass and then set the glass to be the inside cool now we're gonna have to deal with one side of this face so I think the scale is fairly accurate it should be maybe a bit smaller let's go five let's go for or let's go three okay and let's try and combine these together what's the best way to do is let's try multiply and see how that affects it let's bring this power up let's bring this power down what if we pump this up to 50 what if we replace these two around ania does anything okay so we want a strong one like this and then we want a multiply node let's go with the white version and multiply it a I think you know I'm getting what I was looking for let's drop this down to five because I'm trying to get it to look like the drops actually getting rid of the condensation I added condensation on top and we just can you get so I'm just messaging my dad to bring food because as hungry and I don't feel like cooking so if I bump this power up it should know something that let's play like gamma okay so the gamma is affecting it more now I can reduce this condensation amount maybe down to 3 2 let's take a look here so you can see these droplet streaks sort of coming down the bottle it doesn't look great to be honest this thing needs more work but I think it's good enough let's bring everything in the scene and see what it looks like [Music] these streaks should be think the droplets is making a huge difference and what the scene looks right like right now and that's an issue because droplets take a while to get right what if I turn off the surface brightness oh I don't have to deal with these huge numbers let's drop this down to 50 and this thing should be a lot thinner I don't know why it's not I don't know why it's still oh that's weird you know this thing should be a very thin light but it's not doing what I wanted to you know if I drop it down to zero but if I make it taller you see that it's like a big flash in my face just now um ouch that's bright let's go 5 1 no I don't know what I'm doing what was I think so let's just undo everything I'm doing right now oh it could be because this is an IAS light no I feel like an idiot so let's get rid of that let's go one let's go five let's go five and let's drop this down if that doesn't work I'm gonna cry I feel like I'm wasting time right now let's bring this IES back in I should actually play out play around with these IES lights and see what's the best effect let's try a different one what does this look like nope so we want something sharper okay so now we're getting different shapes yeah so I think this is too wide and that looks horrible let's go at six I guess that's fine I'm being picky right now this thing should be smaller though so can i scale this is light I don't think I've ever done that before that's scaleless no I can't get it that way can you scale it using you could transform oh you can interesting I should play around with these things more good to speed useful in the future let's go - 35 you love Heineken oh I don't think I've ever drank it before I've obviously seen it a lot because it's advertised everywhere you love this tutorial shot bro we don't really call it tutorial but thanks anyways you hundreds or below this channel this is what I want to learn great stuff I'm glad miss as begetting Serbs on the daily I think I don't think adding any more drops will make a difference well if I added a lot of smaller ones I think the shape of the drops I need to be more there - perfect right now they need to have onion at least 10 different instances of different drops and that's what's making this thing look like ass right now condensation is also well I guess if I worked on it more could look better but right now just making it look worse it is making it look good so I need to go maybe drop this down to 0.5 and I wish I had the actual graphic I could go and create it I guess but we need a logo here we need a star need to fix this lead I think we can go and play around with that so what am I looking for I'm looking for cap scale us down and the biggest issue right now is these points here how can we select these points without being going to be lazy about this select oh yeah there we go don't the good time to get time to get times we had and scale these out that does not look right okay so our actual Alex off there our actual skill point needs to be centered and then if we scale this if things are going wrong here I guess that's fine I feel like this top part should still be a bit more round and this inside section here I can select this as a professional would I recommend beginner start starts what do you mean by start you mean learning finding work depends on what you want to learn I guess is this normal map the wrong way it's been like this the whole time that's actually annoying let me just scale this down that could have been why this whole lid looked off in the first place let me just go and take a look again it still looks horrible think I need to make this thing twenty five and I need to add some scratches and stuff before it drives me mad so what I can do let's go to let's go add some scratches let's go box and it scales down and then we can turn the spout on zero on and then we can ooh this looks horrible which is just fantastic trying to figure out why this lid is annoying me so much there's something strange they're doing with their colors on on this image here I don't know if it's a fall-off map or if they're combining two textures together this is a photograph I'm pretty sure but there's something about the green that just looks so good on this image and I can't figure out what it is must be something like okay it's not it's more of a bluish tone that's why what if I viewed it from far away how does this look that looks a bit better than I did yeah let's bring in everything and see it's still not great but as professional when you so if you mean you want to make you want to work with commercial videos it depends on the type of commercial videos if you want to do cause then you'd have to learn about cars if you want to do products you'd have to learn about products those things too this thing needs to be thinner like so commercial videos are quite tricky to be honest there's not just 3d there's a lot of different topics there oh it's quite difficult to do depends on if you but also depends on if you want to be a generalist or just a specialist you get modeling texturing animation lighting rendering if you want to be a specialist in those then you need to learn that subject if you want to do commercial videos you need to know all that plus video editing compositing visual effects you need to know how to storyboard and direct and all that nonsense it depends on what you're doing to be honest the way I did it is started well I actually started in graphics design and then I did a bit of 2d animation not anything crazy just like basic stuff then I moved on to video editing I have quite a few like Call of Duty video edits on my channel did a tiny bit of compositing and VFX just like lens flares and dirt and stuff I got nothing crazy color grading as well then I moved on to 3d doesn't even know where I started in 3d I think I started with yeah I guess I started with tiny bit of modeling tiny bit of texturing a lot of learning about rendering global illumination stuff my renders used to take like 30 minutes a frame so I spent a long time learning how to optimize scenes then when I got in then I started yeah I think then I went into modeling so my modeling was trash so I spent I did a 30 day challenge with my cousin we picked a different model every day every day it was a bit more tricky the first one was a bench I'll actually show you what those look like the haunts I didn't use this website in year so let me see if I can actually find it 30-day managing modeling challenge yeah so I started off in graphic design you'll see how this is pretty much the amount of graphic design I could do back then texts and pictures of cats for a while I did actual graphic design like banners stuff like that I really enjoyed the stuff banners wallpapers things like that for gaming or organization did a tiny bit of logos I wasn't great at this as you can see and and I did some more advanced graphic design stuff like adverts of different products but this is pretty much just text and shapes as well then I did a more 3d modeling challenge with my cousin here so it says my 3d projects are being quite amateur for a while when did I make this 2017 February 2017 so beginning of last year 3d projects have been quite a mature for a while I want to be able to model light animate texture and amount of scenes and basically just talking about how I'm doing a challenge so I can improve my link you can see what my first one looked like this is literally just one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirty forty fifteen cubes pretty much and I'm just slapped a texture on it and rendered it out this is before I even you octane existed so then I modeled this pen that's actually quite impressive is this the second model let me see if I label these by days I don't think I did yeah I wish I labeled him by days cuz when he could see how long it took I think I did one a day so first one the second one this is also part of the second one but there's tutorials on these things so Mike Holmes is a good one I was learning how to model in Maya and he illustrious tutorials on a lot of these models that you want to do so if you want to learn how to model pen really elaborate tutorial on it but that's literally what I did I just copied his tutorials and then how I didn't like coming up with all of it was bought so yeah he has lightsaber adorn very very basic things that you'd find in scenes see he also doing a 3d modeling challenge but if I could find these things he had a section where I was like a whole list of them from his channel scattered with so [Music] yeah as a sword here a tennis ball tennis racquets chair a ball a gun very basic assets that you would see almost you call them props in a way here he has a knife a hammer a table light I can so if you have a list of things that you want to model you could literally just copy his tutorials and then you'll learn how to model these general things pretty much every day I learn how to model something new and that's pretty much I learnt the modeling side of it yeah they say k37 took six days while doing other models on the side so I spent six days modeling this and every single day I still model something else so this ak-47 I learned a lot in terms of modeling and then also I tried to do texturing not great but I did this in substance painter it's a more modeling a bit of leaf generating all that and here I started to get a bit more into texturing this is still a still the physical renderer didn't octane render existed yet but yeah and you pretty much just follow the same steps everything I guess texturing is a bit different I don't even know how I started on this trend but yeah so modeling that's why did that 30-day modelling challenge you could learn that in a month depending on how advanced you want to go if you want to go into sculpting and stuff like that I'll take longer but you really only need to know basic modeling if you want to do commercials like most products and stuff don't have much in terms of modeling most of the models are quite basic texturing has to do with it depends on the renderer using but if you're going with octane render how did I learn octane oh yeah so I got octane and I decided to make a 20-17 showreel so in about two weeks I learn octane really quickly and I just made it 20 2017 I made a show reel out of projects I made in that in those two weeks so technically I made them in a year but they were all made in two weeks they went out throughout the whole year and that's how I learnt octane render just by spending like 15 hours a day learning it obviously different sources I don't think I don't remember if I watched any tutorials on octane render I don't watch I don't watch a lot of tutorials I mainly go through things like manuals so here I have the octane render manual that's where I learned that learnt a lot through this manual here there's another guy what's his name as too many people met frozen I think I learnt quite a bit from him so yes octane render and you know says optimization so here if you want to learn optimization see an optimization here you'll get a whole blog basically written about the layer manager that was really helpful in my kitchen seen so many objects need to be able to organize them properly and then you have proxy setups which is what I use quite a lot in term if I'm doing a lot of if I'm doing a video and it has let's say it's a it's a watch and it has a lot of polygons in it you can actually setup a project a proxy set up so you have a project with your watch in that has millions of polygons in it and you have a very basic project with a few few few polygons but they fairly look the same and then you can set up a project proxy set up so that you animate with a very low poly version so you have a snappy viewport and everything and you just click one button and then when you're rendering you just click one button and then I'll swap it out with a high poly version you render it so it has information on proxy setups here how to make a viewport faster and your run times faster go into all your polygons and stuff I got you're going about how generators affect your scenes and you can use instances save RAM things like that a bit of mograph here as well and deformers point level cache the stuff I got and dynamics but I don't really do much dynamic so and then you you also show you how you can set your defaults I've actually been trying to find that I wanted to set my default of a cylinder yeah how did you do this I wanted to go 22 let's go edit set as default I learned something new today yeah okay and that's for optimizing scenes texturing yeah I was going on about octane render so yeah he does have a blog on octane I believe as well not too much in terms of actual how to's but just showing you what it's like having I've been looking for this image what it's like having octane and how it's affected his work stuff I get what it's like having four GPUs boobies and things like skin tests stuff like that and then there's also the octane render mania which is where I learned most of octane there are tutorials which I learned quite a bit from when I was starting octane render when I was starting I think the I watched this video I learnt a bit from that I learned a lot of my octane from blender tutorials actually I think blender guru has quite a few tutorials on them not octane bits blender guru hey guys and welcome to all 3d software is translated into each other it doesn't matter if it's blender if you're interested in making Edith [Music] see our he has bunch of textures on photorealism stuff I got it all translates into oxygen render you can guess tutorials and how different types of texture channels affect your things your textures it's all in blender that literally applies to octane I've watched a bunch of talks what's this guy's name I remember emailed him once Simon Fiedler why should a bunch of talk seminars things like that oh I'm sweating it's wrong fiddler here he has a tutorial on how he made a Nike commercial in octane render and if you want to learn how to do commercials he has a tutorial on how he basically created a whole night commercial that's a good way of learning them you just watched our long videos on these things Jerry shows yeah he rigged the car animated it's he goes into texturing this was done see here he says he also watched blender Guri guru even though he rendered this using octane render it all translates there's multiple ways of doing it general rule is as with everything you have to be smart about it and put a lot of time in it work hard I suspend like 10 to 15 hours every day learning the stuff for a solid year or so so it depends on how much time you put in it really animation is a lot more tricky you only really need to know basic animation if you're doing things like products you don't need to know anything too complicated so that's not really an issue and then that's all the 3d stuff then you go into actual rendering and video editing of Sofia which is a whole other story but overall the best way to learn is just by doing a lot I would suggest you find work that involves the type of work you want to do let's say you want to do you said you wanted to do commercials if I were you and I was starting what I do I would pretend that you've been hired to do a job so let's say you want to do commercials this is what I act this is what I've actually done if you look at my channel and stuff you'll know that I posts portfolio pieces that of I'll make I'll make like product videos of companies even though they haven't told me to do it I'll just do it because I'm pretending they've done it so let's say you want to do [Music] commercials I would find a company that you would like to do commercials for so you do coke let's say hey we'll pay big bucks so now you say okay coke commercials there's a ton of videos if you want to do real-life footage you could look at those as references if you just want to do 3d stuff you can find a lot of 3d commercials coke has a lot of liquid so I would go and look at real flow or whatever real flow simulations that they do what no liquid simulations real flow has some demo reels which you could use as references here and I believe somewhere in the stem area [Music] yeah there's a bunch of liquid references you can use in terms of doing a commercial naked learn real flow or X particles or whatever you want to use for liquids but that's coke so if you want to do coke commercial and you need an actual if you're doing 3d rendering you need an actual model you need to learn how to model can you learn how to add a coke texture onto the can you need to learn how to do the drops google cinema 4d condensation you'll find it tutorial mats you need to learn how to light it you can go into googling product lighting I actually have a some subscribe to this guy here what's his name I know the logo I don't know what his name is work flow things assume this guy has a bunch of photography product lighting translates into 3d as well he'll show you how he just uses one key light to light everything and you can think of it as having one area light that you just duplicate over unseen I'll show you how it works in photography translate that that's lighting animation if you don't want to do anything crazy with animation you're just starting out just animate the camera my coke tutorial my latest coke video for my portfolio basketry the only things that emitted is the camera and the drops you don't need to do anything special to make it look good and then for video editing you can make it really basic you just have four different scenes that are a few seconds long and you just put them side-by-side don't you do anything like transitions or visual effects and stuff like that and you just do that like 20 times for different brands different companies and you'll learn and once you get comfortable with it you go into freelance websites like well first you need like a portfolio sofa cat but you go into Freelon websites like up work see what jobs they have there try apply to a hundred of them hopefully someone hires you and then you'll actually start to get into the groove once people actually you build a name for yourself and companies will start coming to you and what someone hires you and you'll learn a shit-ton Bree anyways that was a hour long ramble let me just go up to see all these messages I missed captain beer bottles and mostly metal so you should probably send in the next one turn off the diffuse and create a green vessel probably look a lot better I tried have index of eights and I didn't like the metal look it actually doesn't look the in the image she doesn't look too madly actually it looks worse if I turn up the index oh I decided not to try to knock to know that I was ten years a mochi mochi my man I haven't seen you in a year dude sadly I wish the ten years only working with Vegas Pro Premiere Pro and a little bit of visual effects not direct so I was actually gonna ask about liquid and something out thanks bring it up yawol um you worked ten years working with Vegas Pro fix your tabs you know I got even more tabs every year barosky's what am i doing I just messed up thanks dude I just messed up my whole setup here shot for making me do that where's this image was on this other screen you know monkey dude I haven't seen you in yes bruh it's been ages yeah so what I did is I found someone that does something I really want to do and then you just look at what she has in their videos or what he has in every his videos and you try and figure out how that's done so where's a good example click quick fibers ass quick four is a good example so all this one's a better one this one so I find it funny that people actually look up to me now and try and say that they want to do what I do because I was the exact same with this person yeah so she did call commercial and you can literally just see you can say okay she's doing videos like this it may be client work I may not be if I want to do that type of work what I need to do first I need to know how to model depending on what type of videos you doing here she has a warehouse you need to know the model of warehouse you need to know how to model cause you need to know coffees X you need to know to animate them as well and you need to texture everything lighting is quite basic I'm just insert a Sun something like that yes yes the mountains the background you can google tutorials on mountains can google tutorials on how to do roads here you can see the roads are horrible texture quality there so you don't even need something super great on that this is mostly animation and once you model the cause or the works also done could probably just buy the cars or just get some free cars on lying you don't need to spend months and months learning how to do this because in a lot of situations clients will give you the models anyway so they're not gonna tell you to model call themselves they'll just give you the actual model um don't don't worry about characters yo that's far ahead and yeah that's pretty much it so just pretend you find someone that does something you already do and then you try and figure out how they do it and then build up a portfolio people actually see that you can do it and then they'll hire you and then just a steamrolling from there Yannick HD is like my she's the whole reason why I got into 3d in the first place so that's where I learnt all my stuff pretty much just by watching us you are you taught me HD seen Nick Mulkey knows I've been it's writing about her for a long time he so loved her stuff I still do cook video song portfolio isn't made from scratch or did you get the councilman it is made from scratch the can it's wrong my hunters I had actually a website the can was taken from the hunters edge one I already made it for this project so I just ripped it right out of there and then obviously adjusted it so that it could um fit the actual cook more the cook shape more but pretty much all made from scratch I'm always over the top of course I am bro that's how we do coke video and portfolios I made from scratch oh he isn't alright ah what else do I want to do with this project I don't think I want to do anything else with it I don't like this fringing in the background yeah I don't know if that has to do with octane let's bump this up to 8k samples just since it's been sitting there for a while anyways might as well I've been thinking about doing a 20-18 show real my dad's been trying to make me do a SpaceX video for months no seems like so much effort he's really been trying to motivate me to do a SpaceX video he thinks it'll get a lot of attention and it probably will to be honest more attention than these cook add videos or butts sounds like effort to be honest you're welcome I did so it depends it all depends on what you want to learn I do product rendering because it's easy to do you'll find more work that way you'll find more people that have you'll find a lot more soda brands and you'll find coal companies looking for through you work that's just the reality of I know it's easy to do it ran as quickly it doesn't take months and months to do as well and you're more likely fine work in that area that's why I do this originally I wanted to do things like make HD does like full-on animation cost like that I realize it's too difficult to do especially if you have a shitty PC so I'm just trying to reach down fix this plant yeah I used I for the longest time I rendered with physical renderer so that wasn't even option and even when I switched octane I only had a 720 770 GTX 770 so render times were three times slower than they are now so I couldn't even render those things in time so I decided to do products and I think that's a great starting point in the future I'll probably move on to bigger things like cars and maybe bigger brands but right now I'm pretty happy doing products right now how much how many GPU for render I only have one 1080 GI in beginning of Jeon I plan on getting a 20 atti and then maybe 2 months after that I'll probably get another 20 T 20 a GTI it depends my new CPU my new PC is arriving on Tuesday or Wednesday and I think that all already fix up all the bottlenecks that I'm having right now with my CPU and motherboard so that'll already improve all the rent times but yeah what else don't want to do this I don't think there is anything else these drops look like ass though I think I'm gonna add in another cloner and this one I can change the seeds add an another number here and let's turn off the spot and that scale was down 2.2 I'll point to you now these things too small I think they might be I almost feel like starting another project right now but I'll probably get fed up with it oh what's happening here I think this graphic is in the way can i scale this down how far can I see all this until it goes inside the bottle what's the question let's turn off this bottles transparency and let's give it a color how can we give it a color let's go or the whites now you see that that's what I was get on I think that's fine and let's take a look in here but enough to even showing I think that you're smaller but working as a freelancer for good commercials have good income depends on what you define as good in Cumbria I don't know what your currency is it depends if you're working off freelance websites my experience they don't pay that much it also depends on what you think is a high salary before I thought two hundred two hundred dollars for a project was really good because I was making jackass mani and this was only like four or five months ago so it wasn't too long ago it depends on what you're doing and what you think use what you think good income is my experience freelance websites try to people that go there are looking for a discount there on those websites because they don't want to pay a lot so generally you'll find the projects there the money is lever but I guess if you do five of those for like five hundred dollars that's actually a high price for a project on a freelance website you could make about twenty five hundred dollars if you do all those in a month which is unlikely um are generally freelance websites like $200 to $500 and those but that's just my experience it obviously depends on what you're doing it also depends on what you're branding yourself as if you're running this off as a beginner you're gonna get people that are paying low low money if you're branding yourself as intermediate or advanced that knows what they're doing you'll get medium sort of money branding yourself as a digital agency or studio whatever then you get higher you'll get more high-paying clients and bigger paying clients and then you can also go and work with an advertising agency which is what I'm doing now right salary ranges generally it's from some people make probably I don't know what the dollar amount is let me just figure this on minimum is probably around thousand dollars a month if you're working for an agency it depends obviously this is just my experience it depends on where you're working and stuff and this some people make up to four thousand dollars a month in cases you can even make fourteen thousand dollars a month in any month not a month one of my projects I did in dollars this is three tricky to translate ten thousand made around 750 dollars and about I would say five days six days and now I was on top of the salary I was already getting for the company this was a separate project so it depends but then I've also spent like a whole month on a project and they'll pay me a hundred dollars so I guess it depends on what's you're doing the money you can be a amazing 3d artist but if you don't know what you're doing in terms of business you could getting be getting paid jackass cash I make templates for now starting games cinema 4d months ago my first project with octane go for rendering in two days god only know how to respond to that is that a question anyways what was I doing I was meant to go I think this project has done that so I'm rambling on because I got nothing else to do you know let's go yeah I think this project is pretty much done I'll be going in probably five to ten minutes my dad's my dad will be back any time now and then I'll give me my food and then I can go and do nothing with my Sunday people I'm working for now or trying to make me not work I say I work too much um so they're not gonna respond until Monday so I literally have nothing to do but just sit next year I plan on maybe rebranding myself as a studio I am getting more job offers than I can do so it'll be good to not turn them down and actually not outsource it but almost find a few people that could do the work and then pay them to do it I think if you also brand yourself as a studio you're more likely to find high-paying clients bigger brands rather than finding people that are just trying to find a discount now how many so many people that have messaged me and they literally all they want to do is I want to get the highest quality work they want you to do all of the things all the work and they want to pay you as little as they can so you want to try and avoid this tea it's good if you're starting out if you're just looking for work you want experience you wanna build a portfolio go for it but eventually you want to shy away from those people do you manage to chill on weekdays I guess I'm chilling all the time to be honest I don't have hours so as long as I get the job done on time I can spend the whole day watching movies as long as I get it the job done on time I'm pretty much chillin 24/7 thing as I enjoyed this work so it's not like I feel doing it actually worked too much barony according to my people okay according to the people I work for they say I work too much and I should stop so a lot of the day they'll give me something to do I'll get it done in less than an hour and then I can just watch movies and go hiking and go out and do all the stuff the rest of the day um that's generally how my weekdays go best way to learn modeling if you skip about half an hour down the stream I went all about how to learn 3d stuff and that's just a very general term I could I could chat for four hours on learning 3d stuff obviously I like talking about the stuff so I wouldn't suggest I'll see me about that all just ramble on but this guy's very good I should start closing these tabs now Denton I need this image I need a setup because my desk is too small right now I want I have two screens right now one of the screen size shitty colors on it so I need to trash that but the main one I use I need to put on the right and then I need to get an ultra-wide on the left but then I won't have any space for PC I need to put onion you get like oh not a box but I need to get a desk that almost has another drawer here so then I'll have a widescreen this exact screen actually I'll put the widescreen there I'll put the screen I have now here and then I'll put the PC I'll move the PC from there onto a box like this because if I'm gonna go for three graphics cards I'm gonna need probably ventilation and I can't have it sitting down here it's gonna be too hot I'm going for hybrid cards but it's still better to have it on top of something where there's better cooling I don't even know how it got on that topic can you please explain a little bit a little bit about Rep salon absence actually quite basic it's basically not a good example what kind of scenario can I bring up this is actually a good scenario let's take this bottle and the scene copy mm what's the scale of the scene I think this is that's a wrap Solano okay so hold on let me just bring in this camera ray epsilon is basically your scene scale if I would look at it as that so if you have a very large scene let's say you have a building and [Music] buildings generally have like hold on my dad's here did you did you get KFC oh my god is your phone in the bedroom okay can you go get you have see ah is hungry so reps alone is basically your scene scale well it's not that I'll think of it that way so if you have like a building has lots of edges lots of cracks where light can go in and generally you don't want to calculate all the small cracks especially if you're looking it from far away or the light bounces and all the stuff that will go in those cracks oh you want a large your Epsilon it'll sort of cut those off and if you have a small scene scale where it's like very tiny crack you want the light to sort of go in there so you can sort of see what's going on and see the light bounces so you'll turn the rail on down if you're working to scale obviously so if you have a small scene scale you want to bump this down and then you'll start to see that light actually goes in there and then starts to bounce around I can see this Club illumination so I got so you're working with real world scale like a bottle like this you'll want a very low rep salon so that light can actually go in there and if you're working with a large scene scale usually your your a epsilon should be better not should be better should be higher and they'll look more accurate that way so if you if you have situations where your textures or something looks off like maybe something looks off like this you want to play around with your epsilon and just make sure that it fits your scene right so here you can see this doesn't look right so if I goes to render buffer drop this down to zero I can see there's actual light and stuff bouncing around there that's not an accurate representation that's not an accurate explanation of it but I would just think of it as scene scale if you have a large scheme or a scene with large objects then turn up your Epsilon and if it's small objects turn it down how important do you think clean topology is hmm in the past I would say it's important that these days as long is it looks right in the renderer it's fine honestly it depends if you're involving things like simulations and stuff with pod you might make a difference or if you're involving things like UV mapping or [Music] sculpting or something like that where it'll actually make physical difference then I think it might be important but if you have a bunch of n-gons all over your object and it looks exactly the same as one without it and once clean topology normally doesn't matter there's a lot of objects a lot of products have done where there's n guns and stuff but there's motion blur this movement no one's gonna notice if your reflections don't look 100% physically accurate so it depends it depends on what you can go get away with a lot of the time it's fine if you topology isn't that great but I work with cylinders a lot and their topologies or their base pickup topology is already just given to me so do you have do you have to client you have to look for clients or clients come to you that's tricky one for a long time I was looking for clients kind of stole am just because I'm so used to it that's the whole reason why I have websites that's huge reason why do tutorials tutorials get a lot of views views gets more people when people are looking for someone who can do a watch advert for example they're gonna Google that 3d software and they're gonna Google watch and then they'll find oh this guy can do this guy does cinema 4d watch tutorials maybe he can make me a watch at that and that's how they find you but they do a lot of the time they do find me but that's just because I'm looking for them as well I make myself findable in a way so what I do is I make tutorials I post a lot of work I have work on my website Instagram Facebook YouTube art station and beyond so I'm easy to find that way and I post stuff often I also post things and Facebook groups I make sure that I'm on Instagram hashtags my website attract the analytics on and stuff so I take quite seriously in terms of how easy it is to find me I run Facebook Ads before as well and then I also work with word-of-mouth I meet a lot of people in Cape Town and pretty much everyone I meet well they don't really know exactly what I do but if they're looking for something 3d related or something creative they know Isis so technically people find me but that's only because I've made my I've been looking for them and I've made it easy to find I think when I was looking for a lot of clients a lot of the time I was on freelance websites that was when I was like looking for portfolio work to do and I was also kind of looking for experience just to things to do so I'm not just sitting wasting time then I was taking for clients I was on up work most the time but when I started to get a couple of clients and when I got hired technically full time most of the time people find me so the people that hired me that I'm working for now they found me on Facebook apparently they were searching for someone Facebook and I got recommended a few times um so that's how they found me but if I wasn't on Facebook and I was just not sharing any of my work I never would've found me I've had a few clients from Instagram they found me probably through hashtags or however they found me and they generally find me on Facebook or Instagram and then my website is easily accessible it's right there and I'm I can see my portfolio and can see what I can do then they email me and see if we can work together but most of the time these days people find me I'm not really looking for work I'm actually trying to do as little work as possible because I'm lazy these days can you please go with direct lighting is that increasing in terms of things what do you mean can I go with direct lighting direct lighting actually should decrease render times I don't think I should increase them this look this condensation is really annoying me it looks like dust doesn't look like condensation I should bump this up even more let's go 12 since it's just saying it can you tell a little bit some camera tips when you're animating I don't really camera tips it's just like animating anything that's just another object in your scene really I don't even know what to say about that it depends that if you have to think of it as a as your what you need to think of it think of it as you're working with a real camera in real life think about how you would record the whole thing if you're want something smooth generally you would put it on something that can that the camera can move along so you could put it on like you could mount the camera on to something like cylindrical and then just roll it across that so you'd go take a camera mounted on a circle or a spline and then you could roll across that they already have something that looks more realistic you're going for something handheld you want some camera shake so you'd go and add in a vibrate tag on the rotation add a bit of camera shake it all depends on what you're doing and you can take on some depth of field depending on what sort of if you're going for something realistic I will try and get your depth of field to look real and also motion blur get some actual real motion blur shutter speeds in there but it all depends just the best way is just think about how it would be filmed in real life and that'll be better also with cameras generally you want some slight what's that thing called when you some slight easing on the ins and out points so the starts and ends just some slide even if it's fast at the start just slight easing into the fast will make it look slightly better that it all depends which options features increase render times the octane arrange meet material type or render output so which memory types of lights generally you HTR eyes generally have all they area lights kind of render longer and etched our eyes not exactly sure why that might have to do with the fact that you have more lights in the scene if you have more lights then it'll take longer until the noise gets cleaned up so it's better to have one light with all the lights inside of it which might be why it's your eyes are under faster textures obviously in cases with transports packing materials those take longer to render because there's a lot more light bouncing obviously glassy awesome materials done ruined as fast because there's less reflections diffuse even faster because there's no reflections a big thing that will increase your end times is well decrease your render times is adaptive sampling this thing will speed up your renders real quick cuz that'll turn off depending on how much noise you let in the scene if you don't add a lot of noise in it will render it'll turn off it'll render slower if you do let some noise in obviously depending on what it thinks is noise versus what you think is noise if you do let some more noise in it'll turn off the sections of the actual renderer when it neat when it hits that noise threshold and then they'll render faster so here it's on your rendering the parts that aren't green which is pretty much only rendering 40% of the scene so that's really sped up my render times by 60% so adapt to something it's a big one Boston power if this doesn't affect your visibility of the scene turn that up to one that also speed up your under times diffuse and specular depth try and get this as low as possible this doesn't have a huge impact but if you're doing animation those few seconds counts um and then GI clamp as well you can clamp it down until you actually start to see a difference and then parallel samples this also slightly speeds up your into times but a big one is the depth of sampling they'll make the biggest difference I think and then the rest has to do with actual things in your scene which is messing up your unders the big thing used to be polygon counts it's not making that big of a difference anymore it's more of actual render settings and lights think lighting and render settings is the biggest thing that's making render times long now but if you have a lot of [Music] polygons unnecessarily amount and unnecessary mark that can also speed up your own times I just noticed this thing is sitting in the floor direct lighting for a epsilon I mean well Rab Solano I don't use direct lighting so I don't know but I'm assuming ray epsilon works the exact same way with direct lighting the use of the noise paths is noise passes so you can see what your actual adapts of something's doing so the green areas means it's not rendering in those areas and gray sky gray scale areas all of the areas that is rendering so if I go and turn this up to point one you'll notice that this green will turn on really quick because I'm letting in my noise thresholds higher so I'm letting in a lot more noise into the scene so it'll turn green faster but if I turn this down to point zero three I'm just glad this thing actually turn on here you can see how quickly it's gonna turn on that's a bad example let's start this at 6:00 and then start this again so you'll see it turns on really quick green areas means it's not rendering that anymore there's obviously a lot of noise but you're telling it that that level of noise is fine because your noise threshold is high but if your noise threshold is lower you're telling it that level of noise is not acceptable it needs to render that out until that noise threshold till it till the amount of noise reaches that threshold and then it can turn off so now it's rendering the noise thresholds rendering is coming in slower so that's all the reason for this noise pause you can see how quickly those pixels are turning off and if you don't if there's no noise in the background you can say okay there's no is no noise in the background it's fine if this is green if there's noise there and you like that's not fine that should not be green you can look okay that's not green I know it's not rendering day and it's just a visual so you can see what the actual noise thresholds doing but you are I turn the depth of something-something yeah yeah I wouldn't say I'm rich but all right well my dad comes back I am going to go I need to eat I haven't eaten since yesterday so I was out until 3:00 in the morning and then I woke up at like 11:00 did you see Paula's comment on a status author come check your facebook notifications use my app so I can get some ad revenue this dude's messaging me I get some weird messages from people on Instagram it's one person pretends we're best friends yeah I think the scene is done this actually turned out better than I thought these drops though could do better work I also feel like this light's not going through this glass I feel like it should be a bit lighter I think this transmission needs to go up to 90% actually it's more like this I don't like how bright this reflection what's going on with usually fractions here is it the refraction you can see the reflection inside the gloss and I don't like that if I should just use one light to be honest I could actually look better than to render a bit faster as well I don't like that refraction reflection there I was supposed to try someone said I should do this texture what happened so I put a gradient in there does that make a difference let's go circular see it is affecting let's go look at actual light shine see if I could find out where I am and go where's this thing see I want a gradient on the slide on to be so contrasting how can I get this - yeah I could turn on the power but then I'll just affect the whole scenes brightness let's go and invert these and see if I can get a gradient reflection does it work I can't even see it what if I turn this power up will that add the contrast back in yeah that's not gonna work I'll just leave it I'll figure it out another day if I'm streaming you can focus on homework sorry I actually like streaming I wanted to do a podcast for so long but you can't it's difficult to podcast on 3d stuff if you can't actually see the screen so streaming is the better option because then I can actually do something as well I can talk for hours so it's a good thing for me to do and it's also I don't like making tutorials to be honest you have to think about it long term and you have to do it a few times to make sure you get it right people always complain about different things and you have to edit it for an hour or to render it out upload it upload it to different mediums and all that nonsense streaming I can just turn it on do it ever the I want and then turn it off again and then just give it a title easy stuff yeah I think it's a good place to end stream now I'm just gonna keep rambling on about nonsense so keen to do another one of these soon yeah I'm going to go shots a lot for watching I'll post this on the channel as soon as it's done and I shall see you guys on one soon I did a poll I don't know it's on the community section of my channel where I've asked if I should post more real life stuff there'll be a lot more content that way because I kind of want to do it anyways so that I can get into filming real life stuff and go more into the visual effects and video editing side as well it'll help in terms of going into film and stuff in the future so I did a poll asking if I should do more of that professional short edits and b-roll and real life stuff and you should just go and check that out and see some a community community section of my channel just go vote and say if you'd like to see more of that or not I'm interested to see what the YouTube community things I can do that on Instagram but most of the people there on Instagram I actually know in person they don't actually watch my youtube video so it's kind of difficult to do it there but YouTube said I could start posting polls and stuff I got yesterday so I thought I'll try it anyways can you please tell me more about which option of adaptive sampling increases around the time I think you mean decrease around the time not increase you can look at noise threshold as the higher it is the more noise it'll allow to be in a scene if this is 0.1 it'll allow Molloy's into the more noise into the scene so the scene will stop rendering faster which will obviously increase your render will obviously speed up your under but there'll be more noise if your noise threshold is lower like 0.03 it'll let less noise in the scene so you've seen more render slower but you'll still have it up you'll see your adaptive something will so beyond so it's not gonna render the background any cases like that your minimum samples is basically how long it'll take until it turns on so it'll only start working after it surrender already rendered 60 samples but if you can see on the stream but you'll see some like blocks and my splotchiness going on inside the inside here that's because the depth of sampling was turned on too early if I turn this on at like thousand samples those swatches will go away because it had to chance to render those parts before it turned on and yeah you expect to suppose exposure is basically what your exposure of your camera isn't a scene if your camera exposure is 0.5 that will affect the brightness of the scene so you want to make sure that this matches just so that I can know what's bright in the scene and what's not so generally in overblown areas of the scene or super dark areas of the scene it'll stop rendering those areas because it doesn't need to and that's why you want to make sure you expose your levels are correct otherwise you'll be rendering super bright areas without needing to but it's a pretty complicated thing to understand it just takes time and practice to learn we are I'm going to go now thanks guys for tuning in and watching I'll see you on a livestream soon enough and have a great day and good bye China's I shall see you soon are you done I need to get a shortcut for this thing I almost hit there
