to start off the list we have like a dragon infinite wealth this game continues the story of Ichiban kasuga and he teams up with Siri favorite kasuma kiru and if the trailers are anything to go by this is sure to have an emotionally impactful end now what's really cool is this game is set across the Sun soaked islands of Hawaii and it's full of insane mini gamess like running around on a bike delivering food and all kinds of other crazy stuff that is sure to keep you distracted for hours on end now the turn-based combat system from the original game is back along with a host of new jobs like kind of like a fire spinner a Samurai and tons more they look absolutely wild to be totally honest with you I've been sleeping on this game and I haven't really been following it since it's announcement but after doing some research for this video it looks like an absolute must buy as the first jrpg dropping in 2024 after years of delays and developer changes this highly anticipated game is finally coming out hopefully you'll take up arms as a captain of a sky fairing crew as you sail with a colorful cast of crew mates on your quest to find a legendary Island said to live beyond the sky end now this game is packed with a giant single player story as well as a big four player co-op mode something similar to what you might find in Monster Hunter so relink is sure to keep you playing for hundreds and hundreds of hours with some of the highest production values and slickest action combat we've ever seen in a jrpg this is sure to be one of 2024's very best this remake to the groundbreaking PS2 jrpg is coming this February and no it's not some simple remaster oh no it's a full-on remake done right it has enhanced visuals on par with Persona 5 totally reworked combat so you can finally control all your party members more social Sim elements than ever before and tons of other quality of life updates that weren't in the original Persona 3 and of the three modern Persona games this definitely needed a definitive version more than most because the original game had combat where you couldn't control all your party members and then the PSP version did have that but then you were just a DOT moving around the screen so now we finally get a great version that everybody can love unfortunately the timing couldn't be worse as it's sandwiched in between Grand blue fantasy relink and Final Fantasy 7 rebirth so I'm afraid this one might get lost in the wash but other than that it looks incredible and I can't wait to play it now I don't know much about dungeon travelers to Heart 2 in another world but apparently it's pretty Infamous apparently it got banned on Steam but now it came back however it does have a big warning that says frequent nudity and sexual content so yeah got to watch out for this one from what I can tell it's a Dungeon Crawler with some visual novel elements that said I feel like the gameplay doesn't look anything that special and honestly we all know why anyone might want to play this game the second half of the cold steel Saga Trails of Cold Steel 3 and 4 are coming to PlayStation 5 this February now if you're watching this video you probably played that game already but if you're the ultimate collector and really need that PS5 version this might be for you especially because it's a double pack with both games coming in one package however if you want to buy it digitally you can buy them separately now it's a shame that the first two cold steal games are stuck with another publisher and probably won't receive switch or PS5 ports that said if you were waiting for these two games to come to PlayStation 5 well here's your chance probably the most highly anticipated game of 2024 is Final Fantasy 7 rebirth this covers the exciting middle chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 remake Saga full of pivotal moments from the original game not to mention there are so many questions to answer like what's going on with Zach and his timeline what new additions will they have here how will they make things even bigger and better and how is it going to end and set up the third and final game everything they've shown so far looks absolutely mindblowing and to be honest I've been doing my best to avoid all coverage and new trailers as to not be spoiled I just want to go in this game with as little information as possible because I know I'm going to enjoy it the first game absolutely blew me away and wrecked me emotionally and I'm ready to be wrecked all over again now a surprising game on this list that I didn't know anything about was Goblin Slayer another Adventurer nightmare Fest now to be totally honest with you I'm not familiar with Goblin slayer at all but this game looks really cool it's a tactical RPG set in the goblin Slayer universe and it has an original scenario by the series Creator Kumo kagu and apparently it revolves around a small box that is said to hold the power to raise the dead kind of a cool setup for a story now the visuals are a mix of HD 2D Graphics something like you might find in Triangle strategy and 2D visual novel segments for the story now to be clear this is not an official English release but it's a Japanese version that happens to have English language options from everything I've seen so far it looks really cool and I love me some tactical RPG so I'm probably going to check this one out at some point maybe the most overlooked game on this entire list is unicorn Overlord yes it has a bad name and some weird gameplay but it comes from story developer vanillaware so you know it's going to be good the game is described as a tactical RPG with Overworld exploration and an Innovative battle system for a unique Epic Fantasy experience in the iconic vanillaware style now recently they revealed a sort of marriage system for the game so if you like those kind of mechanics then hey it's going to have that ready for you if this game looks or sounds interesting at all definitely check it out because vanillaware never disappoints the sequel to The underappreciated 2012 action RPG Dragon Dogma 2 comes in March from Capcom now this open world fantasy RPG it has a huge variety of classes tons of crazy monsters and in this one it looks like it's going to have some absolutely monolithic ones like this and of course it's going to have new areas new playable races and it's going to be current gen only which I love I love that we're finally starting to get games that are going to be current gen only and really take advantage of this new hardware now if you never played the original you have no idea what you missed out on and how much of a treat you're in for with Dragon's Dogma 2 the combat is absolutely incredible when it gets at night it gets really high stakes because the monsters get more dangerous and overall it's just a blast sadly I might have to pass this one up on launch as rise of the Ronin is releasing the same day however I will be playing through it at some point this year because it looks incredible the 3DS Hidden Gem jrpg the legend of Legacy gets an HD remaster this March the game is your basic traditional turnbas jrpg but it has this really cool storybook visual style where as you walk around the world it kind of pops up around you it's really really neat Plus in this new HD remaster will get enhanced visuals it'll run better look better and it'll even have some new gameplay quality of life features so it plays even better now if you missed this on the 3DS this might be a game you want to check out uding Chronicle 100 Heroes the SED in spiritual successor made by a lot of the original staff that we've been waiting a long time for is finally coming this April now the game features three main characters all with unique goals but they team up together to build this big base and the game has tons of cool features much like the previous games you will be able to recruit a 100 characters all with unique skills that they can offer your team whether that be in combat or with setting up shops around town and that is a big part of this game you're going to be building up your town whether it be shops or doing mini gamess or tons of other things and what's cool is in combat you can have up to six characters you have a front line of three and then a back line of three but what's really neat is in some of the gameplay I've seen there's sort of like terrain involved so you can hide behind stuff in the middle of combat it just looks really cool and of course it has that large scale War mode where you kind of have big armies fighting against each other so I'm excited to see how that has evolved and it has this gorgeous new HD 2des visual style that looks fantastic from all the recent previews they pretty much had nothing but praise for it so it's shaping up to be one of 2024's best games if you like giant robot action then Megaton moushi wired is the game for you the premise is that in 2118 99.9% of humanity has been obliterated by an alien force called the dracor our hero Yamato Ichi Dai is among those staking their lives to Pilot megat tongue class giant robots called Rogues in a last ditch effort to recapture Earth from Alien Invaders now the game mainly has hack and/ action combat you'll be fighting aliens you'll collect resources upgrade your megatons and then do it all over again now what's cool is this game supports cross- save and crossplay so no matter what system you're on you can play with friends in online co-op or in versus gameplay I've said this before I'm not the biggest fan of giant robots but I know there's a ton of you out there so this game is probably right up your alley a brand new entry in the The Saga series Saga Emerald Beyond comes this April and what's cool about these games is that the story changes based on your choices and it has tons of endings so there's definitely plenty of incentive to play the game over and over and it has a really cool turn-based combat system in that not only can you see the turn order at the bottom of the screen at all times but also characters will spontaneously learn abilities like in the middle of battle it sounds really neat now the game does have six main characters all with really cool designs in this really neat cell-shaded art style I've never been the biggest fan of the saga games but I'm happy for the fans of this series that they're getting a brand new entry the original Fantasy Life was one of my favorite games on the 3DS so I'm super excited for Fantasy lifei it pretty much has everything you'd want from a sequel it's basically more the same but just bigger and better of course it has enhanced visuals now that it's coming to Nintendo switch more lives to choose from more enhanced gameplay options like being able to jump up Ledges and also there's this sort of Animal Crossing s customization system where you can not only customize your home but the island itself I lost myself for dozens of hours in the original I can already see myself waving goodbye to my free time when this game launches for Nintendo switch in the summer of 2024 and now we start moving into the realm of games that have just general 2024 releases with a game you've probably never heard of arisen Force vomir now I wanted to talk about this game because it has some absolutely gorgeous pixel art and what's interesting is with these kind of HD 2D games a lot of them are turn-based but this one is action-based now I will say the animation looks a little clunky but the combat itself does look pretty fun especially because you have a wide variety of combat styles now to be honest they haven't shown a ton more but from what they have shown I'm pretty excited and I can't wait to see what it has in sore for us one of the weirdest games that I've seen in a while is a game called The Girl Who Kicked a rabbit Yes you heard that right now in this stage based turn-based puzzle jrpg you'll be hopping around fighting different bunnies and trying to figure out the best order to fight them in now it's a bit of a stretch to call a jrpg but if you like turnbas combat and puzzles this might scratch a very specific itch the game also has some pretty pretty crass dialogue as well as some pretty solid pixel graphics and shout out to the four-person team working on this madness it's pretty wild so if anything about this game sounds up your alley maybe consider checking it out next up we have atellier wrestler Rana one of the hardest names to say now this is not a Mainline atellier game but instead it's atellier diving head first into the gacha craze that said it does have traditional atellier gameplay like Gathering crafting and combat just with gotcha elements thrown in and it'll feature tons of popular characters from the series story history now I follow quite a few people online that have played the Japanese release and really enjoyed it so we'll see how the full release looks when it comes out in English sometime in 2024 now one Indie jrpg that I'm super excited for is bloom toown a different story the game described itself as a narrative jrpg mixing turn-based combat monster taming and social RPG elements set in a seemingly Pleasant 1960s Americana world the setting and visuals are super unique at the same time kind of giving me an Earthbound Vibe and from what they've shown there seems to be sort of this like otherw world something like you might find in stranger things and I love that kind of mixing of elements like that so this looks like it's going to be a must play for me and hopefully it will be for you too the long Delayed Action RPG blue protocol looks like it's finally set to release in the West in 2024 now it's already released in Japan to High Praise from players so I'm super excited to see what it has in store for us in the west now the game is an online open world action RPG with deep character customization a ton of classes to choose from mounts and so much more visual sty is stunning one of the most crisp anime art styles I've seen in a long time and the combat looks like an absolute blast now the only problem with this game is that it might be a little too late there's a lot of these online action RPGs with an anime art style and of course hoyse kind of has this Market cornered but we'll see how it does when it releases sometime in 2024 the followup to one of my favorite games of 2022 dark de is set to release in 2024 now for now it's only coming to PC however the original did get a Nintendo switch Port so I imagine some sometime down the line it'll get a console Port now this is a tactical RPG heavily inspired by classic Fire Emblem games and from what I can tell it seems to be more of the same just in a new setting with different classes it's sort of an East Meets West setting with Cowboys Native Americans and a lot of Japanese inspired architecture now as far as I can tell they've only shown one trailer but even if it's just more of the same bring it on because that first game was excellent the recently delayed but highly anticipated RPG Deca police is set for a 2024 release in this game you play as a detective of solving crimes but it has a unique twist in that there's a fully realized virtual copy of the city you live in where anything goes from everything they've shown so far it looks incredibly stylish from The Talented Folks at level five it also has some unique turn-based combat and it was seemingly delayed to make the world more rich and more full from what they've shown in the trailer it looks absolutely huge so if they add more things to do in the city or just more content sign me up I'll always take a delay if it makes the game better so I'm excited to see what level five has in store for us with this one now another cool look looking Indie RPG is demon School the elevator pitch for this game seems to be Persona with tactical RPG combat I'm in now as I said you'll fight in turn-based tactical combat and then you'll manage your school life and relationships outside of combat it also has this really stylish art style that kind of has like a comic book twist to it and the story also seems to be based around horror with a lot of horror elements I love tactical RPGs and horror games and Persona so mixing those alt together could be something really really cool this is certainly one of 2024's most unique RPGs and I'm excited to see what the full release looks like one game that was supposed to release in 2023 but went totally silent is guns on Darkness now silly name aside this is a futuristic strategy RPG in the vein of valkyria Chronicles it was kickstarted by Shi megaro the Persona 5 composer and he will be directing this game now much like a bunch of other games on this list they haven't shown much so there's not a lot to say but the premise alone has me excited as I love valkyria Chronicles and I love Shi megaro so this could end up being something really cool next up we have lost soloc side a game that started as a oneman Unreal project clearly inspired by Final Fantasy 15 caught the eye of Sony's China hero project and Sony is now publishing the game you know what's funny about this game is I actually had a chance to play it back in 2017 at the PlayStation experience it was kind of a fast Souls light game think something like Neo it was very challenging but fun now I have no idea if that's how the full game's going to be that was such a long time ago I mean that was like over 5 years ago now so who knows what it ends up playing like now however every time they show the game I get more excited and it looks really really interesting the world in combat alone just look fascinating so I'm really looking forward to this game finally coming out sometime in 2024 Lumen tail memories of Trey is a beautiful looking monster taming RPG it has a really Charming pixel art style and some unique twists on this subg genre first of all you can battle with up to four monsters in battles which is really really crazy I've never seen that in Pokemon or anything like that and also you have this yo-yo like device that interacts and catches monsters and it's also useful for plenty of other mini games again they haven't shown much but what they have shown looks really really cool and I'm excited to see more also amongst the most anticipated games of the year is metaphor ref fantasio now this is from the team that brought us the three modern Persona games and this is their unique take on a fantasy RPG and from everything they've shown so far it looks absolutely incredible somehow they outdid themselves with the menus and the user interface and the in-game visuals look insane as well everything about this world just looks so creative and new and the combat looks really interesting it's kind of this mix between real-time action and turnbas combat however the action combat might just be the way that you start battles but either way it's cool that they have both to be honest I don't need to see anything else about this game just inject it right into my veins now despite what the name might imply Neptunia gamemaker R evolution is not a game engine tool it's just another Neptunia spin-off now in this game it stars older Neptune trying to revive a dying game Studio this appears to be another action RPG building off the sisters vers sisters action combat and it's also a bunch of other new gameplay features like a motorcycle that you can ride around and there might even be some sort of town building SL Studio building aspects it's kind of hard to tell they haven't shown a ton of new footage for this game I know I've traditionally been pretty hard on this series but this game actually looks like it could be pretty cool so we'll see what happens with it one of 2023 best RPGs octopath traveler 2 will be getting ported to Xbox consoles in 2024 now this is pretty weird because the original octopath traveler got an Xbox Port but it didn't get one for PlayStation then with octopath traveler 2 it was on Playstation day one but then xBox wasn't kind of a weird scenario here with what system got which version of the game but anyways this is one of the best jrpgs that came out in 2023 I absolutely loved it so if you only own an Xbox and you somehow missed this amazing game you're in for a real treat when it comes to Xbox in 2024 one of the most beloved GameCube games Paper Mario the Thousand-Year Door is getting a remake in 2024 now they've only shown one trailer so far and they haven't really said much about it but from what they have shown it looks visually stunning the 2D characters set in that colorful papercraft 3D world have never looked better and if you enjoyed the combat and the recent Super Mario RPG remake then you'll be delighted to know that in Paper Mario they build off that with that same timing based combat system now I've personally had this game in my sits for a really long time I've never played it but I'm super excited to dive in for the first time later in 2024 another game that hasn't shown much but really caught my eye was Project mugan it's described as an urban themed open world RPG where players will act as the investigato with the code name infinite trigger and explore the world here you'll meet different partners and together deal with chaos the abnormal phenom that threaten human safety you can also enjoy a colorful urban life with characters creating beautiful memories on your own how flowery and wonderful does that sound now there hasn't been much gameplay shown I don't even think there's like more than 10 minutes of gameplay out there so it's kind of hard to tell exactly what you're going to be doing in this game but it looks really really fun and I'm excited to learn more from the team that brought us Shadows of Adam comes quartet this game has sprinkles of The Saga and octopath Traveler Series in that there are four main characters with their stories intertwining that you can play in any any order I love that now from the trailer I saw it looks like you have four person turn-based combat and you can swap out party members on the Fly which I love I love when games do that not to mention some really nice pixel art and some cool sounding music if you love retro jrpgs this game should be right up your alley sacrifier is an action jrpg with fantastic pixel visuals and music by Star Ocean and tales of series composer Moto sakuraba obviously the visuals grab you right away and look excellent but what intrigues me is The Game's focus on platforming and cool looking action combat this was or set to release in 2023 but got pushed back into 2024 or possibly even beyond that I got to say it's really neat to see these Indie Games pushing the genre in cool ways and I'm really excited to see what the full release of this game has in store for us from the mind of Akira Toriyama the creator of Dragon Ball comes sandland you'll play as the fiend Prince Basel buub and human Sheriff Ralph as they search for the legendary spring to restore water to sandland and this looks to be a really cool action RPG with emphasis on exploration and tons of different vehicles and it has this really crisp really detail detailed looking cell shaded art style this is another one of those games they haven't revealed much about and in fact it might even slip to 2025 but I'm looking forward to learning more whenever they drop new information about it two of the most legendary retro jrpgs SED in 1 and two are making their way to Modern consoles in 2024 with an HD remaster collection now these games are known for their incredible stories massive roster of characters and addictive recruitment features s in one and two are long over adue for a proper remaster so it's great that they're coming in 2024 now while Konami has done some really shady stuff in the past one thing that they have been doing really well recently are these remaster collections here with the sting games you'll have full widescreen new character portraits and much more now I love the original sued in and I played too but I never finished it so I'm excited to dive into this collection and beat that second game for the first time the legend of Heroes Trails through Daybreak is the new entry in the trail series that comes after the cold steel Saga here we have a brand new cast of characters to get to know and a giant City to explore with it being originally developed for modern consoles the world is even bigger and easier to explore with no loading times in and out of buildings it also has a really unique and cool battle system it's sort of this mix of real-time action and turn-based you can kind of choose whichever one you want so it's up to you how you want to play many fans have already played the fan translation and if you're like me and have just been waiting for the official release this entry should be pretty exciting one of the most pleasant surprises that got announced very recently was visions of Mana now something that I had no idea about is that this is the first new Mana game in over 15 years that's insane and it seems to be following in the style of Trials of mana and that it's a third person over the shoulder action RPG and I absolutely love that game so if it's more of that just with a bigger budget and more open zones sign me up from what they've shown so far in that initial reveal trailer it looks absolutely gorgeous with a series signature pastel art style now in the game you'll embark on a new adventure with Val the newly appointed Soul guard as he sets off on a journey across the world to accompany his friend on her pilgrimage to the tree of mana and the thing that really grabs me as I watch the trailer again is is that this world just looks huge charming and I just want to explore every little nook and cranny of it thankfully they're not going to make us wait too much longer as it'll release sometime in 2024 and to bring this video to a close we end with hoyo vers newest game zenis Zone zero this will be an urban action RPG where you and a squad of three characters go into dungeons getting Loot and then trying to get out with as much as you can now what surprised me about it is that it's much more stage based than I expected especially compared to genin impact and hunai star Rail and it has a lot of dungeon crawling even Rog likee elements now in the game you work as a proxy essentially a cyber hacker guiding Brave adventurers through interdimensional Realms called Hollows now recently I actually had a chance to play the Clos beta and I had a blast with it the combat was excellent and all the character designs are really really cool now whether or not that excitement can sustain over dozens of hours remains to be seen so I'm looking forward to trying the full release in 2024 now we still have a month or so before the first of these games is out but if you want to know the best jrpgs of 2023 that you need to play check out this video right here and special thanks to reset switch Tyler kuzava and the Miyazaki man for
