#377 First Load in 15 Days The Life of an Owner Operator Flatbed Truck Driver Vlog

so today is the 18th and I haven't delivered a load for 15 days so last load I've delivered is on the 3rd of February so hopefully I could do this all right after taking two weeks off over here in Richmond Hills Georgia at the ta truck stop and for you guys that have been following me for a while this is the truck stop that my wallet got stolen at we left the house on Friday it's now Monday president's date days on holiday we left the house on Friday and we've been didn't get it since we got over here we just got over here about an hour ago originally this load was supposed to deliver today but because of the holiday can't deliver till tomorrow military base anyway it was kind of a mess but they ended up paying me to sit in a day so that's why I busted my black thinking over here but I did stay home or Valentine's Day and everything and had a good time - Teresa was home for about two weeks now I got a list of a little list of things I got to do first thing is on my generator there's a little hole where the air filter is and I buy some of this foam stuff to stick in there the second thing that I got to do is is I have been lazy procrastinating I need to change my if the stickers I have my new if the stickers so I got to put those in let's go over here I'll show you what I was talking about on the generator so I have found this this is the air filter for the generator and it's got a little hole right there and it's got a big hole here but I have found if I take a piece of foam and stick in that hole right there the generator runs a little quieter it still gets enough air out of that little little hole right down there but the old piece of foam was starting to deteriorate so I just stick that piece of foam in there and it helps but little generators dirty you could use a bath but everything looking pretty good I'll double-check the oil so the only thing next thing is here this is the old that's the old piece of foam that was in there it makes a difference it's not as loud with the let me go over here it's not as loud with the piece of foam in there and then to get the stickers off I use a little razor blade thing here and let me just flip that around let me go over here let me see if I can do this with one hand so just take this I'm getting the razor blade ready so that's the razor blade and then usually what I do is I just get in there and [Music] get it to peel off and it might leave some of the sticky I'll put some wd-40 on there and then that should help it so all right let me peel these off and then we'll put the new ones on all right we got one sticker on it's the new sticker 20 now I'm one of those guys I don't like to put a whole bunch of the if the stickers on there cuz the reason being I know it sounds weird but it kind of it's a giveaway of how old your truck is like Snyder over there now it's not a very an old truck we see all the IFTA stickers on the side there and then this guy here has only got one on his but I I don't like putting the a whole bunch of hip to stickers on air because in my it's like a giveaway of how old your truck is I've seen guys that have like 10 of them on there I just like to have all right so let me do this one here finish that one and I'll double-check the oil in the generator but that should be good and that's our load right there we're gonna deliver that tomorrow's just a shipping container about fourteen thousand pounds now I did make a little video hopefully I made a little video about the my do-it-yourself lift axle and I went ahead put the axle down because it supposed to rain tomorrow and I have to crawl under there to get it up and down so anyway alright let me get this done I'll try cue guys in a bit fine good morning we're still in Richmond Hill Georgia I managed to make it without losing my wallet this is a truck stop my wallet got stolen a door I lost my wallet however you want to say we're on our way over to Fort Stewart Georgia it's about 30 minutes away I'm gonna deliver our shipping container it did we're going to deliver our shipping container and then make our way down to Brunswick Georgia which is about 60 miles away and we don't reload until tomorrow out of Brunswick posed to be picking up they call it casting powder first I've never loaded over they're supposed to be super sex trying to get out of the truck stop here so not easy to get to there is no major road that goes there so we gotta run through the woods for about 30 minutes I've never been stationed at Fort Stewart I did field exercises Stewart thousand every stop in funds we there I'll spin you around angle si I have not been here that's the fuel law right there I have not been here in a really really long time and don't usually because I usually don't come down this far south but anyway uh yesterday we got the if the stickers put on I got the little filter thing in the generator and you know I've been talking about my fuel mileage hasn't been that good so I started doing some research online and somebody mentioned about the turbo boost sensor which is on the side of the motor and this is part of it that it will clog up with carbon up in there and that can help our deck can hurt your performance and your fuel mileage so yesterday I tried to take this off to clean some carbon out and as you can see I broke it so I had to drop the trailer run over to the Kenworth luckily Kenworth had to part because of the pack our motor I can go to Peterbilt or Kenworth I called Peterbilt they didn't have it they way put the new sensor in and seems to be running a little bit better we're gonna load tomorrow we're gonna be heavy tomorrow we're loading 43,000 so I'll get a better idea of how it's doing with that new but yeah this thing was all caked up with carbon the other thing on my list today to do is I got a do receipts I got about a month and a half of receipts that I need to do I use a program I use quick book self-employed it's an app and you take a picture of the receipt and it automatically categorizes it it's pretty cool if you look for it make sure you get the QuickBooks for self-employed it's it's the app version not the other QuickBooks I made a mistake and got the other QuickBooks the big quick I called the big QuickBooks but find them one that is for self-employed and it's an app and it's pretty cool you just take picture it a categorize it the more you use it it remembers the receipts so say like you buy fuel it loves it it knows you bought fuel it loves when it reads the receipt and it automatically it categorizes it as fuel so it's pretty cool so do that today and then I think I'm gonna do one load of laundry so I have some clean clothes and I want to wash my coveralls because they're pretty dirty so anyway that's it easy day today so tomorrow we're loading it costs four six foot tarps but we'll find out it sounds like it's going to be super sex is what it sounds like alright that's it easy day
