35 Dollar Store Organization Hacks & Ideas (REAL LIFE HACK IDEAS you will actually use!)

hey it's Megan welcome back to another dollar store video this time we are doing dollar store organization hacks and ideas and let me tell you if you are looking for some inexpensive organization but you're not looking to spend a lot of money then my friend this video is definitely for you and these are ideas and hacks that are realistic like I legit use them or have used them in my own home vertical storage for the pantry or for a linen closet can get really pricey but if you want a cheap hack go to Dollar Tree snatch up some of the corner shelves they're made for a pantry I believe like in the cabinets get some zip ties put zip ties on the corners then grab some picture hanging kit it's found in the tool section or automotive section at Dollar Tree and hang that on the wall super easy super simple and these little shelves hold a decent mount away so I have like full bottles of cleaner here and they work really really well plus they're great if you don't want to spend like $40 for closet maids wire shelving then Dollar General sells these little s hooks two for a dollar and these are paired up perfectly with our little shelf hack or any wire shelving really these fridge storage bins from Dollar Tree I'm sure works super great in your refrigerator but I don't know I just don't do a my like refrigerator that way anyways I love these because you can use Expo marker right the expiration date on them right what you're storing on them and then four of these could easily fit on one $1.00 trays little storage corner shelves now I don't know if I'm the only person in the world I feel like I am sometimes where I cannot fit a box of cereal in my pantry unless I tilt it sideways Dollar Tree to the rescue again they have these a three litre storage bins they are machine washable and I can easily fit two storage bins back to back and a full bag of cereal in each one but I use these for my flour and sugar also for my rice and pasta and before I get comment saying like why you label everything I label everything because these are accountability labels it's so my family put stuff where it belongs in the bin that it belongs Dollar Tree also sells these step shelves which are cool on their own but if you bend the legs backwards slide it into a drawer or to a little tray like I'm using this works really really well to store your medicine or maybe even your spices totally transformed my medicine cabinet so I can easily pull it out see what I got push it back in and there's no like knocking bottles over or anything now these dish racks also from Dollar Tree are my all-time new favorite find like new to me they sell two kinds one that is like short and wide and one that's skinny and tall it doesn't matter which one you use take it bin the little use or double use looking thing upwards grab yourself some command hooks or Dollar Tree has a version too depending on what you're hanging I'd probably get the legit command hook brand you can find those at Dollar General all the time this is great to store your mail and I have two of these hang in my house one as soon as you walk in one in the office it's also paired great what dollar generals s hooks where you can hang your keys and your sunglasses I do that works out perfectly but I'm also thinking you can use this for Tupperware lids cutting boards maybe maybe even pot and pan lids if you use some strong heavy-duty command hooks although for my Tupperware lids I don't use that hack but I do use a Dollar Tree item which is one of their book pens and then for my cutting boards I also use a Dollar Tree little skinny container I can pull it in push it back it works out well it keeps them from toppling over on to the pans another idea using the dish rack grab some larger command hooks name-brand or dollar trees hang it upside down and now you have some under the Shelf storage and last idea because these things are amazing there's like a million of five purposes hang it upside down just one side two hooks you can store some contact paper or you can store your trash bags you can store a luminol file you can store a million five things but if you are like a total crafter like I am and you love wreath making this is also a great way to store your faux florals and if you saw my last hack organizational video you'll know that I took one of dollar trees paper towel holders slightly bend it upwards use some the picture hanging toolkit to hang it on the wall and that's how I store my seasonal wreaths that go outside and my wreath forms but shocker it also works to hold paper towels so this is like a sorta hack just bend it upwards put on the wall and now you can hold your paper towels on the wall I also use the tool hanging kit with the Dollar Tree bin to hold my trash bags for the garage one more garage storage idea is to take some Dollar Tree clothespins you get a boatload of them for a dollar hot glue them on to one a dollar trees cheap little MDF signs and now you can easily store your garden gloves or your work gloves or cleaning gloves outdoors and it takes up very minimal space I've mentioned before that Dollar Tree is a universal tool hanging whatever they want to call it are one of the most underrated Dollar Tree organizational items ever you get five for a dollar it comes with everything you need to hang them and you can store anything from tools to children's balls and bats to even like cleaning supplies like I use these for my brooms and stuff too these cabinet locks are also from Dollar Tree and they were great when my kids were little now I love them to store stuff and organize my home including tape and wire or you can pair these up with a little hook on the wall and store your seasonal lights they're also great paired up with some a dollar trees over the door hooks or on the wall hooks which also comes with the stuff you need to hang it on the wall and you can store your scarves or your belts or your purses and by the way if you are totally against plastic which I get it a lot of people are the extra-large clips from Dollar Tree work in a very similar way this next hack I've done for a very long time it's using these toothbrush cases also from Dollar Tree you get two for $1 use these in your purses or maybe like the middle console of your car to store your pins to keep them from busting and it's just easier to find this in your purse my purse anyways my purse is like never organized then these are little containers you get two for a dollar at Dollar Tree and they have these little clips that are on the side that hooked each other so little Jay hook hooks to the opposite side but if you don't care about the color by the way in the teachings section at Dollar Tree you can get a three for a dollar and they do the hook and lock to each other just the same pair those up with some velcro or dollar trees version of velcro hook hook and loops I think they're called two little things on the bottom put those in your drawers and then watch me viciously shake my drawer and they don't go anywhere I do the same thing in another drawer with these little clear bins also from Dollar Tree with the batteries and these are stackable so you can have additional storage now these little magnetic clips are from Dollar Tree for $4 and in these little plastic containers you get three for a dollar this is a hack I'm not doing anymore but when my kids were little they were tall enough to reach the drawers and open them but not old enough to understand like hey you don't touch that cut your hand off this is actually how I stored my knife so I hope this will help somebody out and watch me as I slam my refrigerator door way harder than I probably should I just want to show you that this is safe it's gonna stay on the refrigerator and it's not gonna go anywhere sometimes just got to do what you got to do you don't know saying it may not be pretty but it works speaking of not pretty but it works these little J hooks are magnetic also from the Dollar Tree super strong magnet and they work great to hold stuff on the refrigerator just the same now here's what I do not recommend these are two for a dollar the lid falls off at Dollar Tree don't buy those things I hate those I'm so mad I bought one but these larger magnetic containers the lid does come on super tight those are good and we use those to store a headphones and chargers then one more idea about magnetic so these sure fresh ten pack for a dollar at Dollar Tree I mean that's a great deal the lids go on super tight pair those up with some adult Rees a little magnets hot glue those in the back I used a three to four because I'm storing nails and screws a heavy stuff but this works and it's really strong you see what I'm saying I'm trying to test it out trying to show it to you I'm thinking though if you wanted to sport Spore if you wanted to store spices or something like that you would only need like one or two magnets and by the way I have an update for you so in my previous hack video I showed how I took the paper towel holders and used dollar trees version of command hooks to hang them up this was horrible it did not work out after a few months dollar trees command hooks started falling down and it didn't work the idea was good the command hooks not so much but so to update you what I am using now are these little spice tins they're not for a dollar store they're from world market but they were only $1.99 totally worth it to me I paired those up with some of the magnetic J hooks a Dollar Tree tray and I took my spice cabinet from looking like that to looking like this and it's crazy because I actually have so much more space now I can actually fit more stuff here I also used one of dollar trees tear trays and I utilize the storage underneath to store my olive oil and stuff like that and yeah it works out perfectly so there's an update on that in case you cared now here's a newer hack I've been doing and I love it if you have to share a shower with somebody and there's just not much space in there like mine dollar trees toothbrush holders paired with some Dollar General s hooks once again this works really good and the suction cups on the toothbrush holder is actually really strong so you can like slide your razor in there I have my face wash I'm able to have two little loofas and my foot scrubber and it works out well just make sure you get the toothbrush holder and not the tall soap dish the tall soap dish does not have like the holes on the side now if you use dollar trees brooms or any broom make sure you save the broom handle because there are so many ways that you can use this for DIYs storage organization more recently what I've been doing is pairing it up a dollar trees poly rope and using it to dry like towels when we go outside and play this slip and slide or like we did today the kids made tie-dye t-shirts and we used this as a makeshift clothesline but if you use one a dollar trees plant hangers you could use I'm thinking I know it would work when a dollar trees broom handles in place of a clothes rod I actually just used one of Walmart's like 97 cent rods but a broom handle would totally work too then these little containers found the office section at Dollar Tree and more surprise surprise one dollar hooks in Dollar Tree and you have yourself some really nice hanging vertical storage for office supplies or these metal bins from Dollar Tree easily be spray-painted to the color of your choice match your decor can also be put on the wall for storage for I'm using tangs but you can use whatever but I also want to say like just try to look around and see what you have so most of my storage this is a old crib crib frame I'm using the little Springs from the crib and I just use a few of the garden hooks but if okay I know not everyone's gonna have a crib frame and hang stuff on you can go to Dollar General get a few mug hooks and then go to Walmart to get one of the dowel rods like I used in the closet and like I used in my previous hack video and you can use that if you want to do some hanging storage with the cups or the baskets you feel me okay now this is totally one of my favorite hacks use one in dollar trees laundry baskets or any type of basket you have on hand Dollar General has these three dollar plant trolleys with wheels all you have to do is mark off where the plant trolley will go poke some holes and if you're using a Dollar Tree laundry basket you can omit this step and just skip right to adding some zip ties you feel me this seems so simple but it is such a life changer so I have this in my pantry which by the way I don't have any type of linen closet or anything in my house so like my pantry is pretty much my only storage so we do store our toilet paper in here but it just makes it so much easier to pull the bins in and out to clean behind their suite behind there and just everything else then Dollar General sells these really cute brown tags 20 for a dollar or dollar tree has $34 and it comes with the little string to tie it these work great for labeling and they're paired wonderfully with dollar trees larger cube bins which by the way fit perfectly in targets 9 cube storage solely $40 the absolute cheapest I could find in a really good deal for cube shelves that's what I'm using I bought two I'll have that linked in the description and this is how I'm storing all my craft supplies now earlier I mentioned I only label on a needle label basis well I have so many bins and I can't see in there so yes I do label these because it makes sense lastly these little lunch containers from Dollar Tree are super cool these are great for so many things and my daughter uses them to store her beads and her twine for like bracelet and necklace making but more recently and I have not filmed it but you're gonna get the idea I've used this in the car for like an emergency like emergency kit you know with like tampons band-aids ibuprofen and stuff like that hey if you're still here you're amazing and to everyone who sent me a message asking how I'm doing
