Think you’re a Minecraft expert? You already know how it goes. Things I guarantee you didn’t know existed. Part three. These are 34 secret minecraft things that
you didn’t know. Hard version. And as always if you do enjoy the video then
please consider subscribing. I wanna try to get 800k subscribers before
my school year starts in September but I can’t do it without your help. So please do consider it, it’s completely
free and just one button press. Not to mention you can undo it whenever you
want. And as usual be sure to comment how many out
of 34 you got right, I’m very curious to know. But with that said, let’s get into it and
I hope you enjoy. Number 1. In the release notes of the Minecraft launcher
there’s actually a hidden encrypted message. This message is written in the galactic alphabet
better known as Minecraft enchanting table language. It translates to the axolotls are not what
they seem. What could this mean? Well you can be the judge of that. But one thing’s for sure, it’s a really
neat easter egg. Number 2. End portals are pretty straightforward, you
fill in the eyes and boom portal to the end. Something a lot of players mess up when building
their own end portal is all the frames have to face inwards. If you place them from the outside the portal
won’t light. However if you build an end portal with the
east and west frames facing inwards and north and south frames facing outwards you’ll
be greeted with a nice feature. If you fill in the northern frame last, the
end portal will generate to the side. This bug is frankly hilarious and I think
it’ll definitely confuse even the most veteran players. Number 3. Something cool that you might not have known
about Minecraft is the zombies’ ability to call their friends to help in battle. In all difficulty levels damaged zombies,
husks, drowned and zombified piglins all have a hidden ability to call all zombies within
a 100 block radius to help in battle. Once this call out happens even if a zombie
is over 60 blocks away it will still agro towards the player. A really interesting mechanic that even I
didn’t know until now. Number 4. If you’re willing to wait a bit for turtles
to hatch you can craft the legendary turtle shell helmet. This helmet while not being as good as diamond
armor provides you with the power to breath underwater for long periods of time. Many players have asked and been denied a
full set but that wish might be closer to reality than you may think. There actually exists code in the game for
a full set of turtle armor, it just hasn’t been implemented. The defense is as good as iron armor and as
for any more bonuses well they haven’t been programmed. Still a cool little feature and maybe something
we’ll see in the future. Number 5. Defeating a raid is pretty cool and yeah the
reduced prices and totems are a nice benefit but there are more potential prizes you might
not have known about. If a player has the hero of the village effect
they have a chance to get gifts from nearby villagers. Shepherd villagers have a chance to throw
wool at the player, mason villagers will throw clay, toolsmiths will throw stone tools, farmers
can throw bread and fishermen can throw raw fish. This is actually the only renewable way in
the game to farm clay and terracotta. So if you’re in the market, this might just
be the way to do it. Albeit it’s a bit slow. Number 6. Although the fox appears to hold items in
its mouth, according to the game’s code it’s actually holding them in its hand. Therefore whatever you give it will affect
how it acts. A fire sword will cause your fox to blaze
its prey, and a totem of undying can save your furry friend from a frightening fate. Number 7. Obsidian and bedrock are pretty famous for
being tough blocks. No explosions can get through these guys. Except that’s not really true. The blue wither skull is the only natural
explosive in the game that can blow up obsidian. According to the code it’s not actually
strong enough to do so however this is a specific expectation programmed in as a hidden feature. Not sure what you would use this for but it
is something to keep in mind. Number 8. If you have a gullible friend that’s new
to Minecraft this trick is just for you. If you press f3 and and control and c, not
only will you crash minecraft you’ll crash all of java. So if you really wanna make someone scared
that they broke their computer, use this secret keybind, it’ll definitely give them a shock. Number 9. Something cool, cute and slimy is the following. If you name a slime or magma cube with a nametag,
killing will result in offspring with the same name. This is a very cool but useless way to duplicate
name tags I think it’s kind of cool how it splits among the children. Like father like son huh. Number 10. Something that you probably don’t know and
might save your life in the future is this fact about piglins. Piglins have three different tiers of aggression,
some of which can be soothed and others which can’t. Tier 1 is light aggression and occurs when
a piglin notices you aren’t wearing gold armor. You can sooth this tier by either putting
on gold armor, losing a line of sight with the piglin or distracting it with gold. Tier 2 is medium aggression and occurs when
you break or open a chest near a piglin, break a gold block near a piglin or damage a nearby
piglin. The only way to sooth this tier is to use
gold to barter and distract them. The final tier, tier 3 is heavy aggression. This occurs when you hit a piglin, the one
piglin you hit will agro onto you and will not lose it’s anger until it dies. You can’t even barter with it. So the next time you’re in the nether, keep
this in mind. You might just be able to avoid a pointless
peril. Number 11. The phantom is known for its insomnia attacks. It’ll attack when you haven’t slept for
a while and it is fittingly named a creature of nightmares. However this nickname may be more true than
you thought. The sound files for the phantom were actually
taken from mojang developer Samuel Aberg’s son screaming in and out of his sleep. The nightmares just got a whole lot realler. Number 12. Something I only recently found out existed
was mood. If you open up the f3 menu you might be able
to notice a little text in the corner saying mood and some %. This % represents your progress
towards getting a cave sound. When you’re in a dark space or cave surrounded
by non-transparent blocks, your mood slowly increases. And when you’re not in such a space it slowly
decreases. Once the mood bar hits 100%, a random cave
ambience noise is played, and the % resets to 0. There’s a very interesting and complicated
algorithm for determining the mood, however I won't bore you with it. Still a nice mechanic that you probably didn’t
know existed. Number 13. Ghasts are one of the more terrifying mobs
in the game and are also voiced by screaming cats. However that is not the fact I’m gonna be
talking about. Programmed into the game but unused is the
ghast sound effect, affectionate scream.ogg. This file is coded into the ghast’s ai but
is never used in game. However it does appear in the final seconds
of the nether update trailer. The only place in all of Minecraft where this
sound effect is used. Quite an interesting trivia fact. Number 14. When riding a mob you probably noticed that
it’s hearts are a weird orange color. And you might have asked yourself why they
aren't normal colored. Well these hearts are specifically made to
mirror the saddle texture. I should have made this connection years ago
and now that I know it definitely does make sense. Number 15. Using the /replaceitem command you can add
a bunch of different items onto your head. However, one easter egg you might not be aware
of is using a lightning rod on your head places it on the side like a snorkel. A nice little feature if you ask me. Number 16. Flower pots are a great way to display your
prized herbs. They are super useful decoration blocks that
can add a lot to the atmosphere or interior of a build. However, something interesting is that they
have the power to change and warp the texture of the block inside them. For instance the warped roots change textures
when placed in a pot. While previously it had this spread out and
kind of grassy look, now it looks more like a chorus plant. A singular sprout that diverges as it grows. Number 17. One of the seemingly dumbest design choices
in Minecraft is the fact that you need a diamond to craft jukeboxes. I mean why, what’s the point. Why on earth would this music device require
a diamond? Well the answer is more rooted in fact than
you might suspect. The jukebox in Minecraft is based on the Edison
Phonograph which famously uses diamond tipped needles to better play its discs. So while annoying, this crafting recipe isn’t
completely absurd. Number 18. Strange occurrences and finds happen all the
time in Minecraft, and this is no exception. If you look closely there’s a connection
made between two of the most different blocks in the game. Shulker boxes and ancient debris. They both have the same spiralling bottom
texture when you look underneath them. Whether this is intentional or not is up for
debate but if it is it opens up a whole new world of lore. Number 19. A small feature, a little headnod if you will,
that you probably didn’t realize is that netherite tools are the only tools in the
game to have a crimson shaft. Hence their nether origins. Whereas all the other tools have regular wooden
sticks. Additionally now that I got you looking you
probably also realized netherite tools have grips as well. A nice tidbit of separation from the normal
kit set. Number 20. On the topic of nether wood these logs have
another secret you might not realize. Crimson and warped logs are the only two wood
blocks that have an animation. If you look closely these two pulse with light
and have a small animated sequence on their texture. The same can also be seen in sea lanterns
if you look close enough. Number 21. Something that you didn’t know you could
do and probably never needed to know you could do is lock a furnace with commands. Using creative commands you can create a locked
furnace that will only open if you give it the right key. Granted what loot would you ever store in
a furnace. Well that’s up to you. Number 22. We’ve all had that one moment when we’re
trying to bomb a friend. No just me? And we’re shifting with the tnt and accidentally
end up lighting the tnt on fire, but not igniting it. Well while it might be a very roundabout way
to do so, but this does actually work. Granted it does take a significant amount
of time for the TNT to actually light, however eventually it will ignite. So if you wanna scare your friends in the
strangest and most anxiety inducing way possible, here’s how. Number 23. If you’re in survival mode you probably
know that you can only enchant things with the proper enchantments. You can’t add sharpness to sticks or protection
to a grass block. However there is one strange block that can
be enchanted. Jack O'Lanterns to my knowledge are the only
non wearable or usable things in the game that can be enchanted. And the thing is, you can only do so with
curses. You can’t curse a single other block however
for whatever reason you can curse a jackolantern. Maybe it’s trying to tell us something. Number 24. Now this is a secret feature just because
it's so, so, subtle. When you pick up a fish in a bucket the texture
of the bucket actually goes down by one pixel. No this isn’t a glitch, it's an intentional
feature. According to Jappa, a mojang designer, the
weight of the fish causes the bucket to be pushed down. Quite a strange and useless easter egg but
hey, now you know. Number 25. Speaking of odd and random texture choices,
doors. At first nothing may seem wrong with doors. They look and behave perfectly fine. However if you look closely you may notice
an extra hinge on the opposite side of the door. This is again intentional and Notch has yet
to disclose why he designed doors this way. If you have any ideas I’d love to hear them. Number 26. This one sounds so unbelievable I can’t
even take myself seriously when I read it. According to Jappa the texture designer from
before, a lot of the villager outfits for the village and pillage update were inspired
by 2018 Gucci fashion shows. I mean how could I not tell before, the villagers
look absolutely stunning. Number 27. Again on the texture side of things here’s
a few cool facts that you probably subconsciously knew but never thought about. Most of the items crafted with sticks and
planks resemble the oak texture regardless of what wood was used. Item frames and fletching tables mirror the
birch texture. Cartography tables and grindstone use the
dark oak texture. Barrels resemble spruce and Smithing Tables,
Composters, Chests, Trapped Chests, Jukeboxes, Note Blocks, Stonecutters, and the backs of
Paintings don't resemble any wood-type whatsoever. And fittingly that leaves jungle wood as the
only wood used in no textures. Number 28. The April fools day update snapshot 20w14
infinite included a block called the swaggiest stair ever. This hidden easter egg is the only known netherite
stair, an item that can’t be normally obtained in game. But in this specific update you can mine and
use it to your will. Maybe one day we’ll get netherite slabs
and stairs. They’d be expensive but they would be cool. Number 29. Back on textures huh. Well here’s a cool fact for you. The textures of stone and deepslate change
depending on the coordinates of the block. For instance if I place a stone block right
here and stone block right here, you can see that their textures and orientation of pixels
are considerably different. These subtle details definitely add to the
scenery without us even knowing. Number 30. This one isn’t really a secret however it’s
most likely something you didn’t realize. If you’re ever in the market, you can smelt
sea pickles for green dye. A much easier and replenishable way to get
this elusive substance. Number 31. Speaking of elusive properties, we all know
that chickens can fall much slower than other mobs. However this does not change when they die. If you kill a chicken mid-flight, you’ll
notice that it’s corpse also falls just as slowly. A horrifying yet somewhat beautiful phenomenon. Number 32. Maps are a great way to mark out locations
for your builds. They allow not only to keep track of your
possessions and territory but also a way to make art. However if that art consists of lamps, you're
outta luck. For whatever reason, redstone lamps do not
show up on maps. They are completely transparent. So if you wanna send a secret message to a
friend, try setting it up beneath a wall of redstone lamps. To an outsider it will look plain weird, however
once your friend takes a map of the area, the message will be revealed. Number 33. Pillagers are definitely one of the most aggressive
mobs in the whole game. Heck they’ll even turn to face you in creative. However if you want to nullify that aggression,
simply use this command and boom. A completely neutral and harmless pillager. No crossbow and no will to fight. Just like I like em. Number 34. Some things in Minecraft may seem to have
strange names but upon further inspection make complete sense. For instance Nylium is just a combination
of the words nether and mycelium. Additionally according to Mojang the word
shulker comes from the two words shell and lurker. Hence how the shulker lurks in its shell before
coming out. But hey that’s that. Those are 34 more secret minecraft things,
you didn’t know. If you made it this far, thank you so much
you’re helping me a lot, and again let me know in the comments how many facts you knew. If you did enjoy the video please consider
subscribing. I really do appreciate it. But with that said, thank you so much and,
and peace out, I’ll see you next time.
