it's like you're playing a video game it feels like you're flying yeah yeah how neat that is interior they did a good job it's a definitely uh uh yeah an upgrade there's a screen in the back too so tesla is nice but the finish is not there but this is pretty nice but you're king of the road with this the seat no one you know what is charging stations yeah yeah they are front and back oh man i doing like a 40-60 roll and the steering gets light in your hand the front comes up it's crazy so but you're using the gas right you're not using the steering wheel for that so you push down to go forward you pull back to stop yeah i'm just kidding that doesn't work like that if anything is a plane something let's go up and down that would be pretty cool all right pretty cool can't put it past uh it's in the suggestion box it's in the suggestion box you know what definitely i'm so happy now i was like got doubts man i don't know or whatever moisture this car trapped 152 in the quarter mile when i saw that it was crazy right i mean this is it yeah i mean but even though you watch it happen it doesn't look that fast you're kind of like oh yeah look at that but then when you feel it then you understand are you happy you ordered it now yeah yeah oh yeah i mean where are you gonna get this performer you gotta spend thousands of thousands of dollars to get something the bugatti doesn't even feel like this no but the guy does not feel like this crazy well it's very different it's a complete different car the bugatti feels incredible in its own way you're not getting that punch you don't get a thousand foot pounds of torque it's different at 20 miles an hour it's a 16 cylinder engine it's not good consistent speed that doesn't slow down this will beat that sheeron i will bet you ten thousand dollars from zero to the top speed of this car you will not pass me probably not what's the top speed of this car right now it's 163. but wait a minute it does make 200 an hour it's gonna go 200 when that with a software update they're not done validating the higher speeds on it yet oh okay so yeah um but i guarantee you won't you won't beat me 163 miles an hour do you see the they don't want to go faster because we gave two dangers or what what's the threes they're just there i i heard they are about the super sport i i don't bring it no this didn't destroy any car it probably hooks too much yeah i mean how fast cars before the thing in the street doesn't hook well what do you do with a thousand 1500 or nothing nothing hooks yeah the shoe run does okay you know you can play millions of dollars with this thing 3.5 million versus 150 partnering each 30 grand that car is like a masterpiece i'm definitely comparing it no my performance yes forget it there's nothing like it yeah price dude look at this man any crappy car costs 80 98 000 this thing's nice right up in front here for uh lamborghini bugatti broward all right so that's a wrap out here at lamborghini broward Despite the editorialized headline, it’s a really fun video. Their over the top reactions are contagious.

One of the guys in the car has a modified ICE that does 1/4 mile in the 8s range and even he was blown away by 1000hp coming on like a light switch.

Obviously the Chiron isn’t exactly competing against the Model S in anything other than some acceleration numbers, but the fact those guys were even having a debate at the end on which car would be quicker to 160mph is a testament to what Tesla accomplished.

The Chiron is a piece of mechanical engineering art and it’s no easy feat to build a car that goes 300mph but also has the cabin of a private jet, but sooner than later all those ICE hypercars will be bought like the Pateks and the F.P Journes meanwhile a $500 Apple Watch will do every objective thing better for 1% the price.

And I say that as someone who’s dying to get a F.P Journe Chronometre Bleu lol.

The take away for me in all this is that EVs, like the 3P or S Plaid, reduce the relative performance advantages of supercars, and do it in an affordable, daily driver, sedan format.

Now, many car buyers can afford previously unaffordable performance.

In response, you hear many people defend supercars by saying that it’s not just about performance.

They aren’t wrong, but it’s one hell of a capitulation.

It's not this league but last year we bought my wife a Hyundai Palisade. Sales guys asked what I drove, so I said Model 3. They all came outside to sit in it.

Hyundai is doing arguably the best in EVs of the OEMs and their sales guys are more excited about a Tesla than their cars. They might as well just close now, it's over

Thats the thing though....if Tesla advertised and got people to actually test drive their cars their sales would 1000X(not that they can meet demand as it is)....i was one of the Tesla doubters for years, focusing on panel gaps quality control, reported poor customer service and range anxiety...until i decided to actually go test drive one, ordered one on the spot, my other gas car sits in the garage in case of an emergency, maybe used once or twice since in blizzard conditions. You could tell all 3 guys in the video were like, yeah, this is the shit! An their idea to push forward/back on the steering wheel for speed control is actually brilliant.

People who are able to buy a Ferrari or even a Bugatti have no reason to shit on other cars. They already know their cars are top of the top, so they tend to be way more positive when it comes to Tesla.

It is fun to see the reaction from people for whom "seriously fast" and "exotic performance" is the norm. However, customers for Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Bugatti want the cache of exotics which is a different thing. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the new Roadster finally comes out; I think it will make a dent in their sales - it'll have blistering performance at a fraction of the price, but will also have a footprint they find more appealing than a 4-door sedan.
