$3 Million Diamond Ring - How It Was Made!

my name is Bobby white and today I'll be using this three million dollar pink diamond to our make an incredible ring for now let's put this diamond away I'm taking this piece of platinum which I'm warming up to soften the metal making it easy for me to work with [Music] [Music] I'm now Milling the metal to get the right size and shape for the ring [Music] foreign [Music] cutting down to size and I'll start bending the ring into shape [Music] I'm now tapping it around to get a perfect circle [Music] I'm now marking out where I'm going to need to cut [Music] I'm now cutting to get more of a shape I need [Music] as I'm cutting I keep applying oil to my blade to make the cut smoother [Music] [Music] now I'm filing to get the shape perfect [Music] this is the buff stick and it makes the metal a lot smoother [Music] at every step I make sure it's perfect before I move on to the next stage now I'll finish the shank I'm going to use this piece of metal for the bottom bezel [Music] I will be using these tools to create a curve [Music] foreign cutting out the shape for the bottom bezel [Music] I'm now drilling a hole so I can put my blade in and cut out the middle [Music] I'm now getting the two pieces ready to be soldered [Music] this is flux which is going to help the solder to flow I'm applying the flux with a piece of solder [Music] I'm now using my flame to solder the two pieces together [Music] I'm now buffing the joints to make sure the surface is smooth using this piece of metal I'm going to mount the top bezel again marking out where I need to make my cuts [Music] Daddy [Music] as before I'm cutting filing and buffing [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'm also using pair-cut diamonds for this ring I'm now making the collet for the pears [Music] this color is what the diamond will sit in foreign [Music] all the collets together [Music] [Applause] [Music] I'm now marking out for the inside cut [Music] foreign [Music] before I put these pieces together I'm going to pre-polish the inside parts [Music] if I wasn't to do this step now it's impossible to polish these pieces after foreign [Music] before I solder these pieces together [Music] [Music] [Applause] I'm now going to start making the claws for the ring using this gold wire I will pull it through the holes to get the size I need each always slightly smaller from the other [Music] foreign [Music] buffing a slight taper into the claw and making sure I'm happy with the size [Music] with the pliers I'm bending the claws into shape [Music] perfect now time to solder [Music] [Applause] [Music] I repeat these steps for the other claws [Music] I start with setting the pair diamonds under the microscope I will gently start pushing the claws over and cut off what I do not need [Music] and repeat it for the other side [Music] I'm now filing the claws into a point now ready for the big one setting the pink diamond [Music] hit the diamond level I'll push slightly on each claw and keep spinning the ring [Music] I'm now cutting the claws to size making sure I do not damage the stone foreign [Music] before I start filing I'm going to protect this Stone similar to setting the pair cut diamond I'm now frying the claws into a point [Music] given that claw the final buff I will now do the same with the others the diamonds are all set the next step is to laser engrave [Music] I am calling the ring the pink one which is now being engraved inside I and of course as well my logo [Music] I now take the ring over for its final polish [Music] [Applause] [Music] this whole process took me three days the Center Stone is a five carat cushion cut pink diamond the pair-cut diamonds are 60 pointers each and their D color vvs1 Clarity the claws on the pink diamond are made from 18 carat rose gold and the rest of the ring is made from Platinum I'm Bobby white this is the pink one and thank you for watching [Music] just hold up [Music]
