.25-06 Rem Federal 115gr Nosler Partition Review

[Music] [Music] hi y'all welcome back to alaskan ballistics this is chuck today we are shooting 25 out six grain nozzle partition now as usual i've got to say we're not advocating you go buy this ammunition we're not trying to highlight this ammunition for sales purposes nor are we trying to highlight the firearm for sales purchases this is a savage axis 25.6 all firearms are unloaded until it's time to fire and we are following all safety rules and we are shooting in a safe place and that is a controlled environment like a shooting range the 25 odd six this is the 115 nosler partition 115 grain and it is loaded by federal premium and let's see right here on the box we've got 3030 is the muzzle velocity that's advertised we're gonna test that over the chronograph see if we actually get that and then here's a close-up of the ammo right here basic nozzle petition 1951 technology great bullet still let's see how this thing does over the chronograph and then we're going to do our ribs and water jugs penetration test we got 25 odd six today and we are shooting the 115 grain nozzle partitions five rounds over the chronograph and then we're going to do a ribs and water jug penetration test here we go i hope to not have this on 12 power 3033 there we go 29.90 well 29.76 29.23 oh that's bad and then i have one more round here supposedly for five rounds 29.74 so very inconsistent we actually had over 100 feet per second spread so federal you might want to think about your powder charges there all right let's see how we do doing the penetration test though so our 25 odd six here is the add-up slide for the numbers this is one of the worst standard deviations we've had on rifle ammo so again federal premium hasn't always been that premium to me personally you can see the average muscle velocity and the average muzzle energy there almost on par with the box probably it would get exactly what the box says if we had the proper length barrel for it this week's shout out goes to the crazy scotsman the crazy scotsman go check him out make sure you like and subscribe link in the description great guy great to a community supporter all right here we go 25 odd six nozzle petition 115 green and we are shooting at ribs water jugs wet new savers to catch the bullet behind it here we go [Music] all right let's see how we did [Music] so i aim for the smaller edge of the ribs here that was a seven mag this is a 25 odd six very small entry hole again big old chunks blowing out that's great of course it blew right through the jugs dead center here's the third jug put some leaves or part of pork into the third jug fourth jug and it looks like it went into the newspapers here or and looks again once again it's stuck in the first or second looks like it got peeled all the way back there that's what we found of it nozzle partition got some stuff broke off of a pedal or two let's peel it all the way back we will definitely put that on the scale when we get home okay we're back at the house let's see how much weight this little 25 odd six bullet actually retained i don't think it's to be that much so there we are ooh about 50 weight retention 63.2 and that's because it peeled out all of its jacket and lost all the lead atop the partition water jugs test with some ribs not that great on this particular bullet however it did penetrate really well and it did share a lot of its energy with the target so if you would use this for hunting put it in the comments below let's measure it now and here we are let's measure it so 0.321 there [Music] spin it around a little bit 0.323 the widest part of the jacket 3 2 1 there three two two three two one so not very much expansion produced well it was going extremely fast it shed a lot of its weight still penetrated very deeply tell me what you think in the comments would you use this for hunting what type of hunting would you use this for if you like the test please subscribe share 25 out six not as popular as a caliber these days but still a very very good caliber for lots of medium game and up to some large game even people use it for i have lots of stories of people taking moose with 25.6 up here god bless take care support us on instagram patreon subscribe star facebook we will see you at the range [Music] [Music] you
