[Music] well good morning good morning happy Sabbath to every one of you out there as you have heard already God has blessed our little island Bermuda to make it through the hurricane and I can tell you I was on duty at the fire station through the night and that wind was certainly blowing hot my mic a few times it I did get to sleep a little a bit and a few times it woke me up out of my sleep just because of how hard that man was blowing but praise God the iron as a who has suffered very very little damage and so the church has electricity we're able to join you today unfortunately like outer Mark and out of Jovian I don't have electricity yet myself but praise God nothing will stop us from coming to his Sanctuary amen amen and we have seen your prayer requests there are some pretty serious sorry prayer requests on the chat for uh a sister and and someone who has stage for cancer and her family and we see your prayers we see your prayer requests and surely as I was even sitting there on the side I bought my head to pray to God for those prayer requests and those of you who have prayer requests on last week I pray that God has answered your prayers and we're going to get right into this lesson and I can tell you that there's some changed perspectives on my part after doing this particular lesson so I'm grateful to God for always teaching us always helping us to understand more and more about him as we go through these lessons Christ in The Crucible Christ in The Crucible in the very first thing that came to my mind when I saw this title was the fact that if Christ was in The Crucible and that tells me that he's not asking us to do anything that he wasn't willing to do himself first and so we can follow his example because Christ set the example for us entered into The Crucible of coming into this world and yet he made it through and so he asked of us to do the same amen amen so good morning again do you panel as we're about to get into this lesson I think it's simply some very beautiful points brought out here now what I saw this text and about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice saying Eli Eli Lama that is my God my God why why have you forsaken me and when I looked at this scripture I don't know these days it just seems like I have to Zone in more than I had before on a lot of these scriptures that we've read many times before and the thing that came out when I read this was that Jesus called out two times my God my God and then I realized he didn't call he didn't call out my God three times because the third person of that of the godhead was right there on the cross and had to become sin for us preach preach therefore he couldn't include himself when he said my God he couldn't include himself so he only called it two times he couldn't include himself gentlemen in the US anymore at that point you know the US that at creation God said let us make man in our image Jesus at that point couldn't include himself in the US and he experienced then the kind of separation that we will experience if we don't surrender that second death separation that total and complete separation from God the three who were together imagine this this is this is what makes that cry out my God my God why is Thou forsaken me it makes it it changed it for me it helped me to see Jesus a little better because the same three that was together at creation the same three that was together from eternity past that even came up with this solution to sin if it happened the same three that was together at his baptism after he came here on Earth same three that walked together while he ministered here on this Earth this same three at this moment for the first time for the very first time since eternity passed for the first time we're separating now you can begin to understand the pain the anguish the agony of that cry why why have you forsaken me and I could I was trying to find something that we might experience here on Earth that would help us to understand what that feels like and I couldn't really find anything but but I thought about this the videos I see all the time of people who go off to war they spent their entire family life together suddenly life is changed their loved ones are ripped from them to be put in a place where they could die at any second just imagine after going through that rough Crucible just wondering day after day night after night is my loved one still alive are they okay have they made it through this war one of the other beautiful things that I see in these videos is when that loved one returns my my mind you can't help but cry when you see people running and embracing each other after them coming back from war from some war-torn place brothers and sisters this is what it's going to be like for us Jesus in The Crucible it was Jesus who experienced the separation the weight of the guilt of every sin every single sin we feel guilty when we mess up once and we don't want to come church or we don't want to pray over was a little bit shy to participate because of the guilt of some sin we've done but understand what Christ was going through not just the guilt of one sin the guilt of any and every sin that could possibly ever be committed the weight of that on on a human mind had to be serious but I'm I'm gonna move on because I can tell you this picture of The Crucible that Christ was in the example that he said to us has truly changed my perspective of Jesus Christ and what he did it was so beautiful looking into this thing but we're going to move right on to Sunday's lesson the early days the early days let's turn to Matthew chapter 2. verses one to five and then we're going to read 12 13 and 16 the King James version I'll read it Matthew Chapter 2 verses 1 to 5. now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king behold there came wise men from the East to Jerusalem saying where is he that is born King of the Jews for we have seen his star in the east come to worship Him and when Herod the king had heard these things he was troubled and all there Herod was trouble but here's the thing and all Jerusalem with him all Jerusalem was troubled with and when he had gathered all all the chief priests and scribes of the people together he demanded of them where Christ should be born and they said unto him in Bethlehem of Judea for thus it is written by the prophet verse 12 says and being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod they departed into their own country another way verse 13 says and when they were departed behold the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream saying arise and take the young child and his mother and flee into Egypt and be thou there until I bring the word in verse 16 then Herod when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men was exceeding Wrath and sent forth and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem and in all the coasts thereof from two years old and under according to the time which he had diligently inquired inquired of the wise men the early days the early days this is powerful because what it says to me is that brothers and sisters our Christian walk should begin from early days now let's think about this if Christ had to set the example that example had to be set from the very beginning from the first time he could understand and comprehend as a comprehend as a human child he had to submit his mind his thoughts his feelings and everything to obeying God and it's a beautiful thing when we see young people obeying God but as a child he had to submit his thoughts imagine that his very thoughts so I often tell my children listen practice being a Christian no give up self no because the longer you hold on to it the harder it will be the day you finally finally decide that you want to be true you want to be a true Christian and follow Christ if you bring yourself into a habit of constantly satisfying self not not denying self not obeying God trust me when I tell you brothers and sisters when the time comes for us to decide that we're going to be a true Christian that thing is going to be one of the most difficult things to give up it will be a crucible for some people well you know I mean let's just be real for some people it's pornography I'm saying don't even start I tell my son all the time don't even start brother because the day you decide to surrender to Christ that thing is going to come back and trouble you day after day until you have the victory it's not going to be easy so young people in your early days surrender to Jesus and I would I think about this when he came he didn't come in loftiness he came in poverty his parents were poor imagine they had to run flee to Egypt then he went to the end to be born he couldn't even find room for him when I thought about that I said do we have room for Jesus still is he still trying to find room to be born in US and there's no room to be found for him we need to pay attention closely to these things surrender surrender every day and as soon as we do it the better it is out of Mark I saw your hand up brother go ahead and shine right in the lesson he brought out a question how sensitive am I to the sins that exist all around us and when I think about the early and it made me think I never really thought about this before but Jesus it reminds me of this movie the movie was called The Boy in the bubble and he couldn't he was surrounded in plastic ventilation and he couldn't be exposed to all the elements and if he went outside he gets sick and he you know he couldn't have a love life he you know he just lived this lonely existence and it made me think did Jesus go Jesus must have been like the weird kid you know like sensitive to sin like I can just imagine what Jesus went to um having you know to be the the purest in the room sensitive to sin it's just it's just amazing yes sir I love that question I love that question come right to your brother David I love that question because actually I'm going to read the whole question on the bottom of this lesson it says ask yourself how sensitive am I to the sins that exists all around us do they bother me or am I hardened to them if you are hard into them could it be because the things you read things you watch or even the things you do think about it think about it and here's the question that I I have with this question Are we more comfortable being around Satan than we are being in the presence of God what do I mean when I say that because even that even us Christians need to to ask ourselves that question think about it how often have we experienced being at work or or anywhere even at lunch on the Sabbath I don't know how often have we experienced being somewhere and as long as people are talking filth or foolishness or nonsense the conversation goes on all day long we can laugh and joke and join in them conversations all day long but the minute Jesus name is mentioned in that group or the minute the Bible is brought up oh God or Christianity all of a sudden is I I think I heard my mama calling me I gotta go I'll see you guys later how many of us have ever experienced that certainly we've experienced that even in our own families right the minute Jesus is mentioned the minute the Christian walks in the room and starts talking something nice about God all of a sudden nobody's comfortable how is it that creation we will create it to be with God yet today it is an uncomfortable feeling to be in the presence of God how many people come to church they sit through the sermon and the second the pastor starts making the appeal they get up and leave I start to feel a little bit uncomfortable I don't feel good in the presence of God but yet you send them out to a carnival or to a party or anything to do with Satan settles in and comfort brothers and sisters if we are more comfortable being in the presence of sin and evil and it doesn't bother us and something is wrong by the building I think you had to come back over here yeah when I when I looked on the Life of Christ you mentioned that he was born poor he was a peasant there are also questions about whether or not he was born of fornication just imagine people always taunting him in that culture because that then you weren't supposed to be born outside of marriage so that's something he had to face as a Young Man [Music] he was also ridiculed by people questioning his authority on the scriptures who are you are you not The Carpenter's son how dare you come with your little self want to tell me that this is how it should be I have been a priest I have been this and I've been not for all these years and you're a little boy yes sir sit down and know yourself people didn't like him he suffered loneliness his brothers didn't believe him his disciples fell asleep on him then they abandoned him he died alone on the cross even God turned his head away from him but yet still he did all this for you and I but as he said a while ago we find it more pleasurable more easy to be in the presence of Satan than in the presence of God the one who loves us I mean we think about that I see people on a rainy day playing golf going to the sporting events but if they're invited to church and One Drop Falls well it's raining I couldn't make it they'll find they'll travel through ice snow and sleet to do their Sports and the different things that their parties or whatever it is but ask them to sacrifice a little bit for Christ suddenly we can't do it even some of some of us as Christians can't sacrifice a little time for Jesus Christ but when you get up it's six five four o'clock every morning to make that money but we won't sacrifice one hour for Jesus Christ I'm just saying I don't want to get into anybody's business but I'm just saying we have to ask ourselves the question or something else I'm glad you meant this direction too brother divin because we have to understand that what Christ did was experience what some of us question why we go through it Christ became poor right even at his death Herod tried to kill him I mean it is death it is birth I'm sorry Herod tried to kill him not too many of us have experienced that when we were born having to flee and run to another country because someone's trying to kill us but Jesus experienced it he had to flee with his parents into Egypt and then be called out of Egypt even at his birth Christ was examplating to Israel the same what he asked them to do he was willing to do he ran into Egypt they went into Egypt that he was called out of Egypt they were called out of Egypt Christ was called out of Egypt to go back to the promised land so was the Israelites he exampled the same life and he was called out of Egypt into the promised land he chose he chose what because see they were called out of Egypt into the Promised Land butchers to disobey once they got there Christ said no let me show you how it's done I'm going to go into Egypt God is going to call me out of Egypt I'm going to go into the promised land but the difference is when I get into Promised Land he chose to obey God's Commandments he chose to submit and dedicate himself to God from his very birthday dedicated him to God as a child and he fulfilled every bit of it all the way to the end and those of you who say well you know what well it's harder for me because I was brought up in in the hood I came from a rough side of town I was brought up in a place that was nothing good that could come out of this place so I I have a disadvantage Jesus said no I'm going to show you something because even Nathaniel said Can can any good thing come out of Nazareth and Jesus stood up so to speak and rightly said yes indeed good can come out of Nazareth so Brothers and Sisters Jesus came out of the hood and if Jesus could example how to make it out of the hood and make something good of his life what is he saying to us you can make it out you don't have to submit to what's going on in the hood something good could come out of your neighborhood and that person is you it's you you got to show the good that can come out of that neighborhood Jesus example everything for us everything he example for us and for the first time I believe I guess I could say this it may sound strange but for the first time I really have a different understanding of what it means to study the Life of Christ to study his life is to become everything he exampled it's not just good reading everything he did was for our learning our examples so we can follow him we can follow everything he did and I hopefully as we get on into this later on in this week something else will come out that we need to follow that Christ did it's very important we'll come out later in the lesson but let's move on to Mondays last night or tomorrow Monday's lesson take us to John chapter 8 verses 57-59 the King James version John chapter 8. 57-59 then said the Jews unto him Thou Art not yet 50 years old has thou seen Abraham Jesus said unto them verily verily I say unto you before Abraham was I am Mercy then took thee upstairs to cast at him but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple going through the midst of them and so passed by Mercy take us into this lesson be spies see he just despised by itself is awful enough and rejected mercy of men take us into that lesson here it is Jesus the divine the creator of Heaven and Earth his has now come down to sacrifice himself for the sins of the world and everywhere he goes he's despised and rejected of men this text in Matthew chapter 12 22-24 says then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil blind and dumb and he healed them in so much that the Blind and dumb both spoke and saw it and all the people were amazed and said is not this the son of David always they're questioning is his his upbringing you know this is isn't he the son of David and another time they said is this not Joseph's son wasn't this wasn't Joseph wasn't Mary having an affair she's a wasn't she having a fear it's not this Joseph's son how how does he do where does his power come from how is he doing this the next another another text in found in Luke chapter 4 21-30 um verily in verse 24 Jesus says verily verily I say unto you no Prophet is accepted in a certain country and it's another further in the text it says Jesus is talking about the lepers and he's talking to the people and to the leaders in the synagogue and he said many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elias the prophet and none of them were clean saying saving Naaman the leper and all these all day in the synagogue when they heard these things they were filled with wrath again Jesus despised and rejected and they rosed up and they thrust Jesus out of the city I don't know how they got their hands on them this is Jesus and led him into the Brawl Of The Hill whereupon their city was built that they may cast him down headlong they wanted to throw Jesus head long like a like a header head first head first but he passing through the midst of them went on his way and Jesus said in another verse that I just read very very I say unto you before Abraham was I am and they took up Sterns to cast at him but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple everywhere Jesus goes he's being rejected he's being despised and people are trying to kill him the question is his his birth the question his his background where he comes from you know leaders and the common people they were all questioning Jesus and here it says this is what I found interesting Jesus says before Abraham was I am so Jesus was around before his before his birth yeah and even it's interesting to note that Jesus was an angel took the form of an angel in heaven and the angels in heaven um Satan rose up and he was jealous of Jesus he wanted he said why does Jesus why does Michael the Archangel get to visit the father why can I and you know sin rose up in Satan and spirit of Prophecy says that he had he actually had won over more than 50 percent of the Angels but through repentance those angels reversed their decision and only a third of the Angels were cast down so wherever Jesus goes he's being he's being despised rejected he goes he's in heaven you know his his angels are rejecting him he comes down to earth um the people of Arsenal rejected him as a as a boy his friends are rejected him everyone's rejecting Jesus is there anyone out there that would accept Jesus as their personal savior everywhere he goes it's like a parent that's raising a child away with child um you do all you can for your child and this child is acting the food sometimes when my my son I have to be I have to hold back my anger on this kid because he reminds me of myself and I hate the quality somebody some of his his qualities it's it's me yeah he's a mini me yeah and when I see a mini me in in him I'm like and I have to hold back and um I just have to love him you know and use different methods yes you know what I mean to deal with them you know some kids you some kids no problem other kids if they're gonna be like me they're gonna need a whooping yes sir they're gonna need a whooping some guidance spread the word spoil the child as a last resort as the last resort Church I'd like to leave with you this last text this quote if Jesus was despised and rejected we too will be despised and rejected as we separate from the world and as Customs we shall meet with the displeasure of worldlinks the world hated the one who was the very embodiment of virtue because he was better than they were the servant is not greater than his Lord it is always if always please God the world will hate us if the world does not hate us it probably means we do not please God if the Majesty of Heaven came to this world and endured a life of humiliation and death of Shame why should we shrink back because obedience involves the cross if he was persecuted can we expect better treatment I point to you the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world he will comfort and sustain all who look upon him for help Mercy I and think about again this title despised and rejected of men of men and you can't miss this point that Jesus also experienced being rejected By Angels whom he created at the cross he even experienced being rejected by God is father that is more weight than any other human Minds can handle I can assure you if I had to be guilty about my sins is one thing but I can't take yours too I'm stressed enough in my life with my own problems imagine if I had to take on yours too Mercy and on top of that my daddy my my father my mommy reject me on top of that my children betray me reject me on top of that how much do you think the human mind could handle yet Christ did all of that for us don't make no mistake it wasn't a simple task I would have right at the mic go right ahead where are we today if my life if I'm just going through life easy and I call myself a follower of God and I'm just going through life easy and everything is just easy do I need to question myself I need to question myself because we if we are living for the lord the devil will fight us and if he doesn't fight us he will send someone to fight us so if life is just going too smooth and just easy we need to take a serious look and take stock where we are absolutely that's a beautiful point and I and I tell you what brothers and sisters Satan is even using the church to get us into that mindset ah what we call it the Prosperity Gospel Christianity should be easy if you know God if God is in you everything should be easy that's a lie from the pit of Hell I could tell you that brother dovey you look like you wanted to jump in there go right ahead when when I read this lesson the verse in Luke 28-29 stood out to me when they rose up and took him to thrust him over the precipice why people don't just get up and hit somebody for no reason we always love to paint this picture of Jesus that he was this nice soft soap person who didn't step on anybody's toes I already didn't get on get under anybody's skin but it's not quite so it is because he was getting all of your skin why they hated him why they rejected him let's bring it to today's Hamilton Church adventism overall in the current day if Jesus were here on Earth today would we reject him or despise him just as the the leaders back then did if Jesus were to come today and just per chance tell us about makeup or jewelry not to mention even the cholera on the nails would we have some people who wanted to remove the church and say hey no this is that new their new church those things won't apply anymore yeah would we get upset at Jesus if he came to us and told us about dress reform Health reform when it's something you can see some some people the men come in church in some tight pants the women can't focus the women come Church in some tight short clothes everything out the men can't focus would we get upset if Christ came today and told us about these things would we reject him if he spoke to us about how we find it easy to watch a three-hour movie or binge online on a series but we can't find 15 minutes every day to read the record the list would we reject him if he told us that you're going to you go to work you'll go to everywhere early but you can't come to church early and when you do come come late you want to leave early would we reject Jesus that's interesting that's interesting go ahead so the thought of get sentiment on the cross it did not bring Christ to tears but it was the fact that Jerusalem for whom he was about to die had rejected him that is what pierced his heart so today just imagine Christ saying that he said and cried over Jerusalem Hamilton Hamilton them which are sent to you whole often would I have gathered you as children together even as a hen gather her chickens under her Wing yet and you would not behold your house is left you desolate are we in danger of having Christ leave us desolate because we will we have rejected him constantly and his beatings to us to change and become more like him Mercy beautiful beautiful daughter I'll tell you what I can guarantee you that if Christ will come today there are some things that we do and if he talked to us about it he got up on that Russian and preached to us about it uh some of us will be saying you need to get him out of here right clicking in the heart I tell you come on yeah and one of the reasons why they rejected Jesus is um when he said before Abraham was I am there is one other place I could think of where in the Bible where I see that language and that's with Moses who shall I say sent me I am that I am so then Jesus said before Abraham was I am they understood that he was claiming to be God and you know and I I thought about this years ago and I said like what if somebody I grew up with claiming to be God how would I personally react to that would my reaction be you saying this to these guys or would they take a deeper look and see where he's coming from so um uh um and that's why I like even going on that was the problem did you just always having was that he claimed to be God but he was God you know um they you know they said you know you're not even 50 years saying oh there you claim to be um uh uh how do you claim to be God and have known Abraham for thing is he did know Abraham he created Abraham and even us in in the lives that we live as you guys are saying she'll rather be accept um Jesus or we reject Jesus do we do we accept an sdim or the reject him as the I am absolutely I would hope that all of us are accepting him as the I am because um there's this place called heaven and I already meet all of us there amen because we all accept him as being the I am amen and a brother I'll tell you what and what you talked about we don't even have to say now listen we don't even have to say anything to people in order for that to happen all you have to do is live like that around people and they will hate you all you got to do is not steal when they steal not you know what I mean oh you got to just be in their presence and living a christ-like life that by itself because you ask yourself well why are they why they hate me I didn't do anything to them what you don't have to your lifestyle will prick their conscience it'll Heap cause a fire on their head when you're kind because after they've treated you better Jesus is saying everything I've been through you will go through not because you're a bad person not because even you necessarily deserve it but because sin will respond to Holiness and righteousness the same way every time go ahead write to the mic you know in this lesson this spies and rejected what I see here is unselfish love because that being me experienced that degree of rejection I would have said goodbye I would say okay you all save yourself yeah the cross is still in front of Jesus I mean he knows what it is like what it will be like because he has seen all the Romans have crucified others before him you know the pain the physical pain yet he continued he persisted right and we're going to get to the lesson where he has God why you why have you forsaken me at this point here Jesus could have changed his mind okay because he's been rejected since a day now he's an adult right is performing his ministry and the Very people that he came to save you and I we have rejected him even today over and over okay hence I've always said you know regarding my children I can't turn my back on them because they're only doing they're only doing what I have done um listen it says in the lesson Jesus life Acts and teaching we're constantly misunderstood constantly misunderstood leading to rejection and hatred from people he came to save like a parent who sees away with child Mark in need of help and though the parent is willing to give everything for that child the child spurns the parent heaping scorned and rejection upon perhaps the only person who can spare that child from Auto root brothers and sisters we often leave church because we're misunderstood once Jesus was constantly misunderstood and yet he still went all the way to the cross for us he set an example that is not something that Jesus alone was to do Jesus was Paving the way showing us whatever stage of the path we're on how we should live and respond to it and thus Jesus is telling us you will be constantly misunderstood how many of us when we get around certain groups sometimes it could be our family groups and they're drinking and pride and everything we're there and was scared scared to behave like a Christian so we join in how many of us let our job parties or whatever we get wrong people the astronomic people whoever you know the High people and all that and we get around them but we're scared to say well I'm a Christian we're scared to say well I don't eat that because we don't want to be rejected or misunderstood we don't want to be cast outside of the group and the conversation at the time how many of us are afraid being despised and rejected I can tell you brothers and sisters there are some people out there and this is an example I hope you understand it there are some people out there like young men let's pick on the young men there are some young men out there who would see a young lady who he likes and he will go to talk to that young lady and lo and behold she rejects it and oftentimes many young men as a result of that rejection begin to treat the young lady with disrespect I'm saying thank God that he helps us to understand that listen if you have the mind of Christ it wouldn't matter if they reject you or not you will still have their salvation in mind you will still have think of them better than yourself that will come out in this lesson so brothers and sisters don't start to treat one another badly because someone rejection or someone says something bad about you this is all a part of this pet this path this journey to Heaven you will be rejected you will be persecuted and Jesus didn't mince any worse like it might just in case he said you will so don't give up don't stop coming church because somebody rejected you don't stop coming church because they didn't invite you to lunch don't stop coming church because somebody didn't come and visit you don't stop come in church because somebody made fun of something you you were today don't stop this is a part of the journey if you give it up you're essentially saying God I don't want you either don't stop coming to church let's move on to uh Tuesday's lesson Jesus in Gethsemane out of Mark you have this one again Mark 14. let's have Mark 14. look at that order marks of Mark 14 chapter 33 to 36 in the NIV take us into this lesson Jesus in Gethsemane he took Peter James and John along with him and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled my soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death he said to them stay here and keep watch going a little further he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him amen Jesus in Gethsemane show us that oh so I could help I apologize I have a father he said everything is possible for you take this cup from me if it be possible take this cup from me yet not what I will but what you will yes sir Jesus in Gethsemane show us show us show us this pain show us this pain verse 34 it says Jesus Soul was exceedingly sorrowful unto death it sounds like when I'm thinking about it sounds like a suicide watch the only thing that can give you relief some people on suicide watch they feel that the only thing that can give them relief is a quick death Jesus says Terry ye here and watch for all Jesus 33 years nothing compares to his last hours before the cross The Plan of Salvation that had been that have been planned before the beginning of the world was now coming to pass Jesus in Gethsemane was Jesus in a crucible the spirit of Prophecy says Jesus went a little distance from from them a distance where they could steal hair and see Jesus and Jesus fell prostrate upon the ground have you ever felt prostrate on the ground it's not pretty you could be in your bathroom and you just want to on the dirt on the ground wherever you are just Jesus just felt on prostrate on the ground um he felt that his by his sin he was separated from his father the gulf was so broad so black so deep that his Spirit shuddered his Spirit trembled the agony Jesus was in agony because he could not exert divine power to escape here it is Jesus has all the power in the world he could call upon the angels to to deliver him and he has to hold that in check in the midst of his of this of the suffering and exceeding sorrow unto death but as a man he must suffer the consequences of man's sin as a man he must endure the wrath of God against transgression Christ Our substitute our Surety saw what Justice meant Jesus was an intercessor for others no he longed to be an intercessor he longed for someone to be an intercessor for him this part Jesus asked the question in the beginning of this lesson that I would uh Smith mentioned it said my God my God why has Thou forsaken me at the cross Jesus said my God my God why why has Thou forsaken me and spread of Prophecy says in the Desire of Ages that in that deep Darkness God's presence was hidden he makes his presence he makes the darkness his Pavilion and conceals his glory from human eyes it says that God and the Holy Angels were beside the cross so when Jesus when Christ had cried out my God my God why hast Thou forsaken me God and the angels were beside the cross and they were hidden they were hidden and the spirit of Prophecy says that if God will have flesh if God would have revealed himself to to Jesus to to Christ every everyone who had been everyone would have been destroyed they would have been destroyed by the bright by his by his glory every human Beholder would have been destroyed and in that Dreadful hour Christ was not to be comforted with the with the father's presence he tried the wine press alone and the people there was none with him he said why has Thou forsaken me it's amazing because right after Christ died um the spirit of Prophecy says that there was an earthquake there was you know there was a little storm okay can you imagine can you imagine God having the hardest presence higher it is sorrow and all you see is a storm God's love he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe in him shall not perish God's love it's it's Untold and as we comprehend the lesson brings out that as we comprehend the length the depth and the height of the love that passes all knowledge our love for God awakens is not it's not our love for God it's his love for us and as we as we see more of Jesus as we learn more of Jesus our hearts melts and it subdues our hearts and transforms us as we become a child of Heaven in conclusion God does not compel us with compulsory measures what he he love is his agent which he uses to expel Sin from our heart God's Love Changes Pride into humility enmity into unbelief love and faith if you want to change someone let's love them yes sir beautiful thought beautiful thought because this this this idea of Jesus in Gethsemane really gives us a different perspective of the pain and and and in my small human way if I can give you a a some more of that perspective of what he was going through because it's not just a physical thing that he was dealing with you're talking about it was completely mental it was something that was so heavy on his mind that it affected his body like drops of blood he's he was sweating imagine being stressed to that kind of level I don't think we can we can't imagine it he think about this he asked him to tear a little while here it is Jesus saw it put yourself in this position he sought human companionship human support at the time when he was stressed hurting the most right at his lowest point he sought human campaigns to think about that he sought human companionship so it's not odd for us to seek human companionship at the time and we begin to struggle and suffer that's why God put the church together because he knew he would need it but just imagine this at the minute he needed that companionship not wanted he needed them to be there for him they weren't so those of you out there whoever experienced that that when you needed your friends the most when you needed all that they weren't there Jesus understands that he understands it and he did all of that with the rejection with being despised with every sin the guilt of every sin not resting on him as as if he did it himself yet he was completely innocent he knew he was completely innocent yet he was ex it's like being accused of something you know you didn't do but you say Okay anyway can you imagine a mental anguish of doing that knowing that that you saying okay will destroy your life it'll destroy your family it'll destroy your marriage it'll destroy its all that just you saying okay to that Jesus knew that he was innocent but said okay the brothers and sisters were Jesus my words can't even describe what I'm beginning to visualize understanding a small way of what Jesus actually did I get stressed in one week if things start going wrong I get stressed impatient short all of that if things start to go if it's one thing after the other after the other after the other by the end of the week we're completely mentally exhausted we fall with something that's only our own Jesus is saying I had all of your sins I don't read that to Mike yes I was standing there in this last few seconds you touched in many of the points that I intended to me I'm sorry I'm sorry that's all right but you know when we think about Jesus we have to understand that from the day that he was born as a human being we're not going back into eternity right the day he was born as a human being until this very minute as he was in The Garden of Gethsemane he has never ever sinned in his holy is righteous and here it is the sin of the fornicator the sin of those people who indulge in in a what's it called again looking at naked people what is it called so okay so I say that again when people look when you look at naked people and what is it called there's a term pornography yes I don't know I don't know the sin of those who indulge in pornography this scent of those indulge in drug trading and murderers right those who um assault children yeah the pedophilers all of those sins are bearing down and someone a being who had never sinned Mercy right it's not a mental issue it's not a physical issue it's a spiritual one right that's why Jesus I took him in the flesh because God cannot be in the presence of sin the two doing that's light and the Darkness don't work together and this is Darkness has the same that's just bearing down on him that's imagine one of your burden one burden that you have that is oppressing you to the point where you feel like you would just want to get away from this world get away from everyone no it's the sin of the entire world that is bearing down on him at this point right to extend to the extent his perspiration his sweat because it became drops of blood yeah right it is veins no begin to rupture cause blood to come out right he said my God if this is possible this could pass from me there are times there are times in my life when I wish that certain experiences that I've had would pass from me but Christ had to face it the father and the Holy Spirit are to let him go through it because if they had intervened Yoon Hai would not be here this day sure amen appreciate that morning morning everybody well then I run our brothers and sisters we have the Dapper Deacon vacuum from you to her with us at the mike that's right so um as I was going through this lesson it brought back to memory there's a parallel in this story actually and it's actually found in Genesis with Jacob when you wrestled oh my God he wrestled and there's a similarity he Jacob at that point sent away his family Jesus sent away his disciples but in that moment where he was alone where it was there by himself he wrestled with God and God actually helped him delivered him forgive him forgive him of his sins and it's the same thing that happened Jacob was there thinking that all right these band of soldiers Esau and the men are gonna come and kill me and it's the same thing that happened to Jesus in this time also a band of soldiers came to actually take him away to persecute him but this is a nugget though this is the part that I want to actually leave is that when we're going through those times of tribulation there's someone there called Jesus beside us saying look pray to me and I will give you this time because that's what he did here when he was there feeling all that anguished saying look I don't know what to do Jesus sorry the father sent angels to strengthen him and lift him up at that moment and I could attest to that that sometimes when I was here alone because I was here alone for a year or maybe sash is watching this she knows yes I speak to her about it you know I went through Temptations and just as any young man of course I'm here alone and I remember one day I was walking home and that Temptation came over me and I run home I didn't even give into it I run straight home fell on my knees in that closet moment and prayed to God and I did not get up until I feel Angels Lifting me right now walk in faithful brother from that moment onwards Temptation has gone amen beautiful thank you thank you thank you thank somebody out there needed to hear that today amen appreciate that get out if you notice in the text that we just read in mark 14. Jesus knew the measurement he disciples could go through if you know this verse 32 it talks about it went into Gethsemane with his disciples and he said sit here while I pray but he go further and he take it Peter James and John and begun to be amazed and be very heavy and he said my soul is exceeding this exceedingly sorry for it unto the entirely here so in Split I mean two groups and that is telling us something that the Lord know and of the measurement what some of us can hear and what he put on some you won't put on the other but all of us got to go to something as you see there the disciples was being split into and he still living magualing foreign disciples he studies us and he won't give us more than what we can bear amen amen beautiful beautiful beautiful I tell you what this idea and just for somebody out there because I know there are some people out there who are always helping other people just in your nature you find it easy to do you help people all the time but then you get to a point where you think who's going to help me nobody seems to come to help the helper if you're experiencing them Jesus understands Jesus was the one who was constantly helping but when it was time for him to receive that help at least not from human human beings when it was time for him to receive that help they abandoned him nobody can help to help they got what they wanted but then he wanted something all of a sudden there's no time I can't stay awake I can't do it so brothers and sisters if you're experiencing that Jesus understands you keep you keep pressing you keep pressing forward I knew it can be difficult we're going to move on to Wednesday's lesson brother delvian take us to Matthew chapter 27. verses 50 to 53 in the King James version the crucified God Jesus when he had cried again with a loud voice yielded up the ghost and behold the veil of the temple was the rent in Twain From the top to the bottom and the Earth did quick and the Rocks rent and the graves were opened and many bodies of the Saints which slept the rules and came out of the Grave after his resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared unto many take us into this to crucify the crucified God Mercy I start with the text in Isaiah 53 verse 4 and 5. surely he has born or griefs and carried our sorrows yet we did esteem him stricken smitten of God and afflicted but he was wounded for not his own transgressions but our transgressions he was bruised for our iniquities not his own iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his tribes we are healed Jesus the innocent God suffered and died not for himself because he was perfect righteous but he suffered and died for you and I the question is though why did Jesus have to die when man sinned in the garden man was hopeless thought to sin and death death was to be his punishment God said to them in the day you eat of this tree you will surely die Romans says for the Willies of sin is death man had sinned there was a connection between man and God but no that connection was broken there was a road just imagine a bridge between somewhere and the hurricane came and washed that bridge out sin came and washed that bridge out man no had no way of getting to God God had to know Institute a plan to reconcile man to re-establish the connection between himself and man hence the only way how that could have been achieved was that the sinless Spotless Son of God had to come and die because man could not have died for himself hence Jesus had to die for him no there are a number of things which came out in the lesson and we see a lot of types and anti-type one of the things which happened there we saw where they veil in the temple was rent now everything in the Earthly Sanctuary pointed to Jesus as he hung on the cross and he cried it was finished and on scene hand ran the veil from top to bottom the lamp that was to be crucified or that was to be sacrificed in the in the in the sanctuary that time got away and the knife fell from the hand of the priest signifying that by Christ no dying on the cross he had no replaced this Sanctuary system hence there was no more any need for the blood of bulls and goats but no Christ's blood had replaced all of that type type admit anti-type Christ at his death defeated sin at his resurrection death and the grave he also defeated and as a trophy he took some of the Saints from the grave and raised them with him now to better understand this we need to look back on the type again let's look back on the type in the Jewish economy in the Jewish economy the Feast of first fruit was celebrated some days after the Passover when this happened when the farmers would take the first sheaves of ripened greens and give them to the priest and the priest would take them and wave them before God these by this they were saying God we are thankful for the Harvest which you will give us when the when when the full Harvest is is come no Christ when he died get this those who were resurrected with him they were resurrected as the first fruits of the Great Harvest of Souls which Christ would take back to God when he comes the second time but these who were resurrected first when Christ went back to Heaven he took them with him and he presented them to God and said God here is a sample a product sample a wave she's offering of what I have gone and accomplished no God when we have finished the work of salvation and Redemption we have a great harvest to go back and get now many denominations teach Elder that the work of Salvation was finished at the cross but the Bible doesn't teach that in the Hilton we understand that when Christ left the Earth after his crucifixion and Resurrection he went back and he entered into the holy place with his own blood and there he continued the work of redemption for The Souls of mankind amen amen I mean listen I have to say I hope that we were really listening and paying attention to what our brother devian just went through in terms of the sanctuary and what it all meant Rave offering and all of the sheep offer and all that because it's important for us to understand the work that Christ is doing for us why he did that why because a lot of people may have that question why did he raise those people you know these particularly if you don't know who who all of America exactly were but why did he raise these particular people when he was resurrected and taken with him but now you understand he had to present them as first first fruits to God Amen so thank you thank you so much for explaining that because sometimes that can be a difficult thing for for people in terms of the sanctuary and understanding so thank you for explaining that but imagine this Imagine This feeling the weight of every sin that you've ever committed it all comes back just comes back and you and mentally you feel like you've done them all over again every single one of them from the time you were young to right now every sin you've ever committed imagine feeling the weight of the guilt of all of those sins and then imagine being rejected by everybody around you especially the people you care the most about and if that weren't it's not enough imagine being abandoned abandoned by the church people who were sticking close to you in this spiritual walk all of a sudden abandoning you and then imagine being betrayed by some of the same people now this is on top of the guilt of the sin that you have for yourself now you're being experienced the Betrayal of people around you then add to that being mocked by Wicked people just teasing you and mocking you and and then imagine being humiliated by being physically accosted and slept and spit on all this while you're still trying to get through this idea of getting rid of the guilt of your own sin and then being beaten and after all of that now they're threatening to take your life you're still trying to deal with the guilt of your own sin you ain't got past that yet but all these things are being added and added and added and I see how much could one mind take many of us experience issues mentally from way less Christ took it all every single bit of it he took your sin my sin the world sin it weighed down on his mental state on his mind he was betrayed he was mocked he was beaten he was abandoned he was rejected all at once how much could one human mind take but he took it so brothers and sisters when we start to behave like it was just a thing he died for me and that's it it's not like that what he dealt with was far more than we would ever be asked to deal with far more and yet we find room to reject him steal may God help us and forgive us for rejecting his way now tomorrow quickly I want to read this quote really quickly after all that God has done for us crucified God the crucified God Christ mentioned to Peter only one condition of service the same one condition of service applies to us love us thou me for all that I've done for you yes brother Hilton out of Hilton well Alton Highway for all that I've done for you love is thou me this is the essential qualification though Peter might possess every other yet without the love of Christ he could not be a faithful Shepherd over the flock of God love is thou me for all I've done for you that's the question Jesus Christ asked us do you love me if you love me keep my Commandments yes sir we have to I just want to encourage us when you read the scriptures from now on terms of looking at the Life of Christ and what he did slow down slow down and allow the spirit of God to to give you a true picture of what was done for us we hear it so often it's become you know a little thing oh Jesus died for you Jesus died for you Jesus died for you Jesus we've heard it for so long we have not taken the time to actually dig down deep as to what that actually means put ourselves in his place put yourself in this place when you read about it put yourself in this place when you see how he forgave enough you have difficulty for giving the littlest thing that someone done against us just littlest thing but Jesus did he forgive the most heinous horrible disgusting sins he forgive and not only did he forgive but he treated us with a kind of love as if it never happened can you do that before you think Jesus is just some regular this is just some regular thing he did put yourself deeper into what he did daily find out can I do even a fraction of that I'll put this caveat in here you can but only if the mind of Christ and the spirit of God is in you only then can we do it it can be done because Jesus exampled it meant that it can be done but we have to we have to get to a state of surrender that is beyond anything we've ever done before and I thank God for this lesson because even some of the things that I wish I could verbalize I can sitting and doing this lesson and looking into the Life of Christ and the sacrifice of Christ humbled me to a place where I I literally cannot find words to actually express it who am I who am I that he loved me that much and I struggled with some small things and find it hard to get out of it here it is he done something Beyond understanding how can we reject so Greater Love For Us brother delvian take us into Thursday's lesson second Timothy 3 verse 12 in the NIV second Timothy 3 and verse 12. suffering God it says here in fact everyone who wants to live a god life in Christ will be persecuted the lesson starts off with the quote we might as well get used to it as long as we are here in this world we are going to suffer persecution we are going to suffer as Fallen creatures it is Our Fate nothing in the bible promises us anything different on the contrary the three texts which are are there shows that we are to expect persecution we must go through many tribulations to enter the kingdom of God we will suffer for his sake all that will live Godly must not maybe not not per chance but if you're walking as Jesus did just as though they didn't like him because he lived Godly when you start standing out stop blending and stop being like everybody to stop trying to be so agreeable and start living as Christ would have you live you will suffer persecution no matter what suffering you are going through understand this Christ has been through that and greater Isaiah 53 verse 4. surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows yet we did esteem him stricken and smitten of God and was afflicted but the good thing is that because he was afflicted like that we know Havana priest who can be touched with the feelings of our infirmities we have a God who is able to secure he understands what we are going through so what is your challenge right now what are you going through think about it there are so many things which everybody is going through at your own level everyone has your Crucible but think and understand that Christ has been through worse that and worth so he is now able to understand so you don't have to be there wondering I say I wonder if Jesus even know how this feels when you lost your mama are you or your granddaughter your child or you were mustard or whatever you're going through Jesus he understands and he is the best person you can talk to Mike there's a song you guys sing that says just tell Jesus so when you're going through what you're going through just tell Jesus talk to him nobody better to talk to nobody who can understand better there's a little course where I sing cast your burdens on Jesus why for he cares for you cast them on Jesus but get this the merits are the benefits of what he has done far exceeded just him being able to understand what we are going through because of Jesus died on the cross we now have the promise of eternal life so yes he is able to understand my suffering sure but this is that's in this life and if it's only in this life that we have hope then we are of men most miserable but he no guarantees us eternal life if we hold on as I said in Winchester when man sinned man lost access connection to God but when Christ came and died he said I am the way the truth and the life by his death we now have a way back to God he rebuilt the bridge that was washed out in the storm Jesus is like the belko man he's like that utility worker who comes back to your house after you have lost power water internet he comes to your house to restore your connection and he's saying behold I stand at the door and knock but we have a responsibility we have to let him in as much as he has died for you he cannot save you without your permission so he says Behold thy stand at the door and Elder Smith if you hear my voice open the door and let me in I cannot save you from outside I have to come inside to check a few things before I can kind of report your house because if I come in the port of the house and there are some things in India which are not right the house is gonna burn down so I have to come in and fix a few things then I can reconnect you just imagine seeing Jesus standing at the door thorns on his head spear inside the wall in his hands he has died for you and he's knocking at the door of your heart how can you say no to this man considering all he has done for you so the challenge is to everyone here in the church and those watching online don't let this be just another quarter where we've come and we've talked and you feel emotional and you you'll get hyped up by some points but at the end of the lesson at the end of the quarter you go back to being the same person unconverted uncommitted to Jesus today right now at the end of this quarter's lesson I encourage you I invite you to give Jesus a chance to make a meaningful change in your life behold I stand at the door and I want to come in and sup with you but will you let the crucified Jesus in your heart amen amen beautiful beautiful God suffered so that we can have eternal life now imagine brothers and sisters how valuable that suffering was to Christ because you're talking about being able to exist for eternity in a place where everybody thinks about someone else first everybody is kind everybody there is Holy every person there is no trifling person there there's nobody who wants to do you wrong no wrong decision will a person make and it comes to dealing with you imagine every single person being like that in one place how beautiful and experience it'll be to be in heaven so yes Christ suffered immensely more than we can imagine but the joy that he saw in the future of what we will have with him throughout all eternity is what made it worth it to him we may never fully understand it but I can assure you it was worth it to Christ because if it were not worth he would have never did it and just imagine you're talking about God who did this for us God did this for us it was God who sent Jesus for us it was God who prepared that human body for him to do to dwell in it was God who died for us it was the God we worshiped the God we serve the God we pray to the God it was he who did this for us how amazing that the king of all Kings King of the universe the creator of all things would submit himself to save us I tell you I don't know my mind is just my whole feeling toward this thing is different today but brothers and sisters the worst kind of suffering the worst kind of suffering is the kind of suffering of the Mind at least that's my take on it I could be wrong but the suffering of the mind is the worst kind and brothers and sisters guaranteed this is what Satan will attempt to do because it's what he attempted to do to Jesus Christ cause the suffering of the mind to make him quit and likewise he will not spare us make us suffer mentally spiritually emotionally and he'll add physically in there too just for good measure Satan wrote attempt to do this and the closer we get to the end the more prepared we need to be to suffer it sounds like Doomsday it sounds gloomy my brothers and sisters there's just no other answer we have to prepare to suffer in many different ways and whatever button is when pushed will get you Satan will push that button if it's if you're afraid to die he's going to threaten your life if you're afraid to be rejected he's going to make people dislike you if you're afraid to be talked about oh boy your business is going to be all on the street whatever it is that he knows will get you to quit rest assured Satan will choose that one to get you so pay attention and let us prepare let us look at the Life of Christ study it take it on board and then allow the Holy Spirit to give us the power and the strength to actually live this thing out amen amen amen well anyone else want him out of Market want to make any comments this class before we go to Friday God is good yes sir suffering of God it's um just want to say that it's when I try to think about the suffering of God my mind cannot even comprehend it to be honest it's I can only view it in what God has done for me um just want to give God thanks for that yes sir praise God praise God so brothers and sisters Jesus will give us eternal life because it's his to give make no mistake and we'll be paid we'll be paid something that we don't deserve you'll be paid eternal life as a reward we don't deserve that and Jesus tried to tell us in the parable of the vineyard brothers and sisters it doesn't matter if you've been in this walk for 50 60 70 years or you've been in this Christian walk for two hours just like that Parable in the Bible everyone he asked to work in his Vineyard at the end of the day got paid the same wage so brothers and sisters we can look forward to Heaven that just because you became a Christian five minutes God forbid that should happen but just because you came with Christian five minutes doesn't mean that you're not gonna get the same Heaven as the God has been struggling in this walk for 50 years you can get the same Heaven the same mansion the same God Amen that's all right God is good God is good as we close out this lesson and by the way we have a special treat uh before we actually have our clothes in prayer today but as I close we're going to have brother Calvin come and play some music for us before we um close on this lesson but while we're while we're while we're getting prepared for that the script the bottom the lesson says but now the history of the human race comes up before the world's Redeemer he sees that transgresses of the Lord think about it this is what he sees long ahead of time he sees that if transgressors of the Lord were left to themselves must perish you wonder why Christ keeps coming after you huh it's coming after me you wonder why he keeps coming after you keep coming because if he leaves you to yourself Mercy you'll have to die Mercy he sees the helplessness of man he sees the Power of sin the woes and the Lamentations of a doomed world rise before him he sees your Lamentations your words your hurt your pain he saw it all ahead of time he beholds its impending fate and his decision is made we have to have a made-up mind he has left the courts of heaven where all his purity happiness and Glory to save the one lost sheep all the Purity the happiness the glory he left it for one lost sheep the one world it has fallen by transgression I'm going to leave you with this because I believe it's important Jesus wants us to be like him in Philippians chapter 2 it says if there be there for any consolation in Christ if any comfort of love if any Fellowship of the spirit if any bows and Mercies fulfill my joy Jesus says fulfill my joy that ye be like-minded having the same love that I have you want to know what's our responsibility this is what it is fulfill my joy and be like-minded as I am having the Same Love being of one Accord of one mind like he is with his father let nothing be done through Strife nothing or vain Glory but in lowliness of Mind Let each esteem other better than themselves Stay With Me fulfill my joy and have a mind that thinks like I do he says let nothing be done in Strife or vain for fearing Glory but in lowliness of Mind Let each one esteem another better than themselves look not every man look not every man on his own things but every man every single one of us also on the things of others and then he says let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus now it begins to make so much sense Christ is saying let every one of you practice living with the Holiness of heart being humble let every single one of you be kind to each other let every have this kind of thought that you don't think only of your own salvation but think of others let this is the mind you must let let be in you and you have to let it because he knows it's not natural for you let the kind of mind be in you that cares about other people's salvation because brothers and sisters this whole lesson we just went through is showing that Jesus did it all because he cared about others first the king of the universe humbled himself to become a servant because he cared about everybody else hence it makes sense why he said to us go ye therefore and baptize All Nations in the name of the father Son and Holy Spirit teaching him to observe everything that I've taught you why because your concerns should always be about sharing the gospel with somebody else because if you're if you don't do that you're not fulfilling the joy of Christ in verse 2 fulfill my joy and be like-minded what kind of mind did Christ have the kind that cares about other people moving yourself now it makes sense as to why he said and the second commandment is like unto it love your neighbor as yourself because that's how I think died because I thought about everybody else now you go and think about everybody else and stop thinking only about yourself this is the girl of Christ in US before we have clothes in prayer brother Calvin take us to Heaven brother with the saxophone take us to heaven [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music]
