well guys we're gonna put Paul's pick it back together here and get it round again then I get it I had a problem in the totally integrated power module and the relays not it's latching and unlatch and the power to the compressor costs and we you know so I got to fix that and figure out what I'm gonna do there but anyways we got to get run first I got six boss reman these are factory boss hell yeah factory boss Rheem and injectors from working fuel injection I got six new feed tubes anyways I'm gonna start putting this bastard back together okay so the first thing you want to do obviously I I actually got I you can use motor oil on this or whatever your preference is I actually like leaving that all until I'm ready to put my I has before damage these studs trying to torque and stuff so I just leave them on till I'm ready to put the wires on learn my lesson ain't having to buy injectors that I didn't you know having to buy something that I didn't need to do just I don't know man it's just like it seems like I'm the only guy that stands behind anything these days I mean I don't know I mean naming any names but I know there's a guy around here that you just don't she's won't even get into it rebuilt some and it's always somebody else's fault first thing up and some over there did it you know and I don't know just done I should have bought all these bolts over there but I cleaned on my rockers uh so these in there okay what else we're gonna need our feed tube nuts okay I'll start the back working away forward cuz it's definitely the worst to do here I'll do the easy one here so you guys can see it let's just do that so everybody can see it the back hole sucks for visibility especially for the audience make sure you're putting these in make sure your hole for your feed tube in is on the driver side I just kind of put my heel of my hand over that that there and shove them down so just for a quick run down order a sequence of tightening on these get it in tighten it down to 44 inch pounds then back I'm off to where bolts both both loose kind of torque them evenly that's why I'm running these down my hand so they both the shoulders hit the the injector hold down arm and then kind of go a quarter turn they're quarter turn their back and forth kind of do it evenly to give them two 44 inch pounds then back them off where they're just both loose and then stick your feed tube in tighten your feed tube hold him that there tighten it to 11 foot-pounds don't back it off and then tight knees alternately to 89 inch pounds then do a final torque on the feed tube 244 foot-pounds they used to tighten them to 37 and for a while I was tightening them even tighter at night I was tighten under 40 but the new spec I have found is 44 foot-pounds unless somebody else's gut unless somebody else has got a different torque spec that I don't know about 37 was too loose they were prone to leaking 44 I'm already on 44 okay that one's tight no one's tight that was loose that was loose okay let's get a feed tube ready I use this translate all that stuff's really good stuff you can use motor oil to you you want I'll use that too and it works just fine oh all right see these this is what lines it up so stick her in the hole where you really can't go wrong it'll pop in eleven foot-pounds this one set up or do i I don't have set her up yet and if you don't have a foot time torque wrench it'll go low low enough just get an inch pound and take 11 times 12 and that'll get you there there's 11 foot-pounds now take your inch pound torque wrench again and go to 89 inch pounds [Music] nine late that's 44 for courage just over to 89 [Music] there's 89 inch pounds and then do a final torque forty-four foot pounds on that I'm gonna use this care for that [Music] okay boy the hill that goes hey there's 44 foot-pounds own one my sockets hanging up on there they must have a burger or something on it okay anyways and put your exhaust we'll go ahead and put the exhaust rocker lever on there I should have put those in the cart too but then you go to 27 foot pounds on those and then we're gonna once we all the injectors and I'm gonna run the valves intake and exhaust valve lash on all of them see that's the first hole so we'll put that make sure you put your valve bridge on here so you don't unring it without the bow bridge on [Music] twenty-seven foot-pounds I'll get a pretty good busy day tomorrow I had a 4858 it blows up underneath the cab it was kind of a hard one to get to but we got her out this morning I'm gonna do that I got an 80 200 with a no sart's and out in the middle of a strawberry field you sit here then I got a another 580 super rail back hold it at the tire rod in something I think now might have had one radiator out of it hey there you go that's pretty much the whole sequence right there guys and these these nuts on you put your valve cover back on these nuts be real careful with these those are 11 inch pounds okay well let me get my damn socket off of there and anymore I'm gonna go ahead and put the rest of them in and then I'll could be back with you when I'm doing the valve lash all right guys show you what I do on these things this is up to you I take it you'll see on the crank mapper TDC I take a yellow paint marker and Mark that you want that at the 12 o'clock position I want to do is I got a mark right there that I made on the crank at just 6 o'clock position well that's at the 12 o'clock position that way I kind of know where I'm at I don't have to keep guessing and climbing back up back and forth to figure out where I'm at now damn I gotta suck it there but what you want to do is climb up there and make sure I was already I already turned it 360 because I was at number 6 I wanted to show you guys I'm starting out on number 1 okay we're gonna go off the valve cover valve cover says 10,000 for intake 26 for exhaust okay so for those of you that I'm sure there's plenty guys out there not around without wash some of you guys that don't ok so what you're looking for you're looking for valve overlap basically valve overlap is when the intake and exhaust valves are open partially the way the cam profile is it'll open the intake and exhaust on the exhaust stroke that way that number six see this one's on top dead center compression number six cylinders on top bed center exhaust and both of those valves will be tight you are on number one when both of these are loose you should be able to grab these and they should be tight and they are that's when you know you're on the right stroke okay and then these are run kind of like a cat you'll do you'll do one two and four intake and then you'll do let's see one three and five five exhaust yep one three five exhaust one to four intake one three five exhaust okay so let me get it let me get an allen wrench and a feeler gauge here and thirteen millimeter and we'll sort adjusting these valves okay and did I grab the wrong size yeah shoot they're like yeah yeah sorry can you remember dick that up okay be that one right there 14 millimeter okay so let's do the intake make sure you're on the right one look at this here exhaust valve there's lining up with the exhaust valve port on the exhaust manifold the rag in this hole here I'm gonna make sure don't get trapped in there alright kind of easy to remember on these sort rockers are the intake and the long rockers are the are the exhaust your finger gauge out and get into the valve button here ten thousands ain't much you don't hardly ever see that our try a piece of equipment that tight of a well blast you know okay then 26 on the exhaust so what I do is I just getting my usually what idea is that Huggle just down the intakes and I'll keep that feeling gauge out and then I'll go do my exhaust one two and four sometimes you can take them and just kind of check them see what they're like and they're tight I can't I can't get it in there that's what she said yeah somebody's got a motorcycle our rice rocket I think a lot of guys and obviously on these comings it's this is overlooked quite a bit and there's no run down against guys but they don't realize it you know in the automotive world they're used especially the gas guys are used to hydraulic lifters where they don't have to just vowels or not used to mechanical valve train let's truck guys you know we're used to adjusting bowels and this ain't got a hundred thousand miles on its its do I mean you should just them not sure what coming to spec is on these little motors but I mean a lot of the truck sir two hundred thousands when they adjust them you know Detroit and a 60 series they used to they told you on the twelve point seven I remember I used to tell you fifty fifty thousand or no it was a hundred thousand and we always had problems with the intake valves on the 60 series getting tight on isn't taking the cams out see how these are tight and can't well see now that I got that LAN there I think too bad but they change their Detroit went and changed their service bulletins back then well it's been a long time ago but they went two hundred fifty thousand on the intervals instead of a hundred because 100 was too late they kept taking the cams out on him and that 50 then we didn't have much troubles named Detroit 60 series in 12 seven they weren't powerhouses or nothing but good fuel economy and very dependable very reliable trucks engines had a couple customers had him and I had one one customer he's dead and Alvin he was one of OCD type of guys I mean he never everything had to be exactly right I mean just you know what goddang and I said that 27 but oh well 1,000 things nothing what the hell I was thinking should be 26 you dumb he'll the matter with you so I know you got to reset that 1000 think you know if you read the service literature right here I got it on my phone you can follow this here's the valve last limit chart you can be anywhere from 6 to 15 thousands on the intake come and says and you can be anywhere from 15 to 30 thousandths on the exhaust so if you're under 15 or over 30 or if you're under 6 or over 15 you got a problem so 1,000 don't worry about it had a couple kibou detractors look at tomorrow with their conditions don't work on that all kinds of to do back over there and Lando Valley and that guy's a good customer he's a good dude man he likes dicks and right try to be fair about my billing and my travel time and try to be as fair as I can I don't like the gouging let's get our away just to get to did five exhaust and then you'll do three intake sometimes even I got to get my deal and remember I might take my ratchet off on my last crank revolution so my dumbass doesn't forget it and start the son of a and something up I've done that numerous times on I've done I did that on a big cam 400 one time huh baby how are you good looking you want in the truck you can lay down the truck you want huh what's this ducat you want in the truck siesta there you go sweetheart turn this dumb line on and you can do with it how are we gonna fix your pillow but lay it out on that seat over there and I'll fix your pillow you're in a little while anyway what was I saying ah I remember so let's do this other half here okay so now you'll have both valves on if you're in the right spot also be tight on number one okay number six both of those should be loose yep kinda hard to tell them I want a tenth out if you good sometimes you little throw me off you've got somebody that hasn't run their valves ever on something I've run into it before to where their valves are really tight or really loose can really kind of throw you off thinking you're in the wrong spot and you'll search second-guessing yourself so last one we did one two for intake so now we're gonna do I'll see here it'll be an exhaust we'll do three five and six intake I'm trying to find my ten thousands again and then I'll start putting fuel lines and all that good stuff back on there and we'll fire it up I'm kind of curious I want to do my fuel pressure override test again and see if it holds real pressure he's probably never been adjusted so I've got a nice actually they don't turn on while you're trying to tighten up a bucket truck this morning out those and adjusting screws roll got slack and slop and you tighten up the jam nut and you got to back it back off and readjust it because there's so much slack in the threads and yeah that's aggravating so three five and six there's so much fun yeah don't check on him what the hell he's dude let me go check on him make sure he's not chasing somebody down the road he's usually pretty good he don't bite but wait is being a mechanic Makarov some more eventually we'll get her in there okay he's awesome there's even further back so that's even more fun in there maybe where I can see but then it's in the way once you get it where you can see and then how it always works my flashlight alright alright I always grab them and check them okay oh okay I'm just gonna grab my 26 right now I'm laying here I'll do that exhaust on number six dirty son wouldn't teach you anything you know yeah I feel like they had the secrets to the Space Shuttle or some thing and they were gonna keep all that information of themselves and no one else could ever have it and I just kind of despise something to be honest with you I mean they I went to when it was I spent six years in the Navy and submarine service and as a mechanic and I went through a lot of schooling in the Navy they were we were very well trained in the Navy and then I went to Wyoming Tech after I got the Navy because I wanted to get a good job and I scored really high in the class I think I was number two in the entire school and so I worked in Gillette Wyoming for a while there and for Black Hills trucking and then that was a very sour experience my shop foreman was there it was just like the the ones that I went to up here in climbeth you know they were and now that I look back on it and I'm not really floating my own boat or nothing but I mean I work on a lot more than just trucks like they do that's all they work on his trucks it's all they know you know and I look back and now I know more than they do about most stuff you know I don't know everything I'm not saying that but just amazes me you know how they just think that they wouldn't teach anybody anything anyway I got off subject here I'm talking about the prereqs bit anyway that did some stereo from bricks on my kitten worth long time and I was getting pretty young and I was still on drinking beer and partying and doing like that you know and the guy left and looked down her last break I did I don't pickup off I was telling me about my grandpa my grandparents name on my mom sighs Lutz and he it's kind of a you don't see very many Lutz's it's kind of a real name like my grandfather his his little pantywaist you have no clue what adversity is what them guys went through back then not just Germans all of them during the war I mean there are some hard times hell there was some you looking start doing a little bit of history and start looking at the great depression and how the people in this country here were starving to death you know and on the bread lines and these people these days dollie he said something to hurt my feelings and unemotional oh god the world's gonna end and it just it's nothing I know I'm rambling I'm rambling I get to rambling but yeah we just you just can't believe you you just think what's this person going to do if something bad really does happen and we ever do get into another world war or something there are another great depression and which is very possible I'll tell you one of the things that's very possible and I do a lot of studying on things and one of the things I like to study is I like to study economics and one of the only thing that saves the USC we've got 20 trillion dollars in debt and the only thing that saves our ass is we have what they call the world's reserve currency and that means if say say some country let's say you Bekka Stan wants to buy oil from Saudi Arabia they have to buy it in American dollars they have to take their currency and trade it you know for American dollars and then buy the oil that's what it means having the reserve currency and that's the only thing that really saves us is having that status once these other countries and they're trying to do it if they come out with their own currency we're finished if somebody tide takes foothold as their own currently that we're done you're gonna see hyperinflation it'll be just like Germany after the war or even before the war it'll take you a five-gallon bucket full of money to go buy a loaf of bread because of hyperinflation because the currency will be so devalued it won't be worth anything and I don't think I don't think a lot of these people have a clue what can happen you know this whole thing where they just keep printing money and out of thin air with no solid asset to back up anything that they're doing it's just the whole the whole economy is just rigged it's one thing Trump's exactly right it's all set up and rigged the whole damn thing is it's all monopoly money when I took us off the gold standard I know you know the government every time they well let's have a debt ceiling you know I don't see what she could do that at home just you know I'm gonna raise my debt ceiling you know I uh I can't make my house payment or anything like that you know I'm just gonna tell the bank I'm gonna raise my debt ceiling and not pay my bills yeah don't you wish we were all like the politicians I know people oh yeah yeah and it's both sides I think once people finally start realizing that both sides have been playing us for all this time they'll finally open her eyes and realize that both sides have been playing the game he might be voting Republican or Democrat but you're voting for the same thing it's all your doing that's what I liked about Trump he was different he was going against the grain I done the world work for over the years for his family they were ranchers here and he's a the kid there he's the County Supervisor now and I was giving him other day I said oh you you got figured out a lot better than the rest of his doing he says why is that I said you actually found a occupation that makes money even his dad gives him all the time it's kind of funny all right so I got to work from last time it had a peel 148 when I was doing the test that would be either deal with that she'll smoke a little bit before she gets cleaned up guys I just got a text the code we're gonna start it
