2024 Razer Blade 16 OLED 240HZ Hands On Overview! i9-14900HX, RTX 4090, New 240Hz QHD+ OLED Display!

what's up and welcome to another episode of gizm tech today we're looking at the blade 16 240 HZ OLED display variant and this thing is very bright very vibrant and definitely my display of choice in the blade 16 I think it's a better combination of resolution display stats and a vibrant display Razer has a few different display stats I want to mention real quick it is a clear Mr 1100 certified it's like a Clarity of the display in slow motion by vesa and then you also have true black certification over a million to one contrast ratio of course OLED most OLED displays are extremely contrasty and this one's no slouch then this is also calman verified Superior Color so basically it's like color gamut checking and calibration checking that's a uh certain level I don't think it's that important but it's a nice thing if you're maybe like a video professional gives you a little extra boost in terms of confidence knowing that your colors are going to look amazing amazing and great uh and match probably what the other high-end displays have out there on the market now the blade 16 just in general has an I9 14900 HX 24 core 32 thread up to 5.8 GHz on a single core and um I imagine the TDP should be pretty similar to last year they did say they increased the uh thermal limits by just a little bit by improving the CPU paste and so they actually Rich to Honey wealth uh I believe PT 7950 for basically improving the thermal conductivity now I don't know what that's going to actually translate to real world performance temperatures anything like that until we actually do full testing but in theory it should be just a little bit better according to the razor product manager now in terms of actual performance I have tested the I9 14900 HX in two laptops now the MSI Titan 18hx and the scar 18 and both of those laptops had very small performance improvements compared to the previous gen 13th gen so obviously extremely fast CPU but don't expect like a huge light speed increase to CPU performance from the 13th gen to 14th gen now we do have a 490 in here up to 175 watts of TDP Ste so that is great for a 16in fairly portable system also very good speakers in here we have a nice webcam with Windows hello and we have a webcam shutter up here we can block the webcam that will stop Windows hello from working so keep that in mind and uh overall I think the blade 16 with the OLED display is just a nice Step Up in terms of display uh balance and Clarity and combination uh there is no Thunderbolt 5 on the blade 16 that's only going to be on the blade 18 and that's kind of I guess a trade-off you'll have to make if you want to go with the 16 instead of the 18 uh no F not as future proofed with without that Thunderbolt 5 now the ports on this are still very good you have a headset port Thunderbolt 4 on the left two USB A's and a reversible razor power plug there on the left on the right side we have another Thunderbolt 4 USB a 3.2 and then an HDMI 2.1 Kensington loog port and then a full-size SD card slot which is just great for a 16in some of the best sports that you can get in a 16-in form factor considering it's two Thunderbolt fors it's is Awesome g-sync with Advanced Optimus on this blade 16 so really fantastic overall potential uh and obviously a very good device now this has gone up for sale already so links in the description if you want to check out the blade 16 and potentially pre-order one of these to get it in sometime soon here I believe they're they're delivering these already here in January so that's awesome to see so release date already released pretty much uh and I can't wait to get my hands on one and test one not sure when that's going to happen though but uh yeah tons more CES content coming up here blade 18 overview and blade 14 overview videos coming for 2024 as well as tons of other CES overview videos so be sure to subscribe and check out the rest of the channel for all of the CES content for 2024 see you in the next one Brandon [Applause] out
