hello everybody and welcome along to our F fourth event of the 2024 IMS of WeatherTech Sports Car Championship season I'm John hindol in the Ford performance Global broadcast Center Jeremy Shaw is with me and our crowd strike pit Lane reporter is Shay Adam and we'll be bringing you all of the action in the first of what we call our normal length races this year 2 hours 40 minutes on the clock for the motol course to Monteray Power by Hyundai and uh that interestingly comes after our two longest races of the season the Rolex 24 at Daytona the mobile won 12 hours of Sebring and our shortest race of the Season which was on the street of long beats a couple of weeks ago the weather has been absolutely brilliant and very kind to us with virtually no chance of rain we're situated just off the coast uh Monteray the closest major Center of population or selus I suppose just down that Highway the other way two and a quar miles 11 corners on what is a phenomenal race circuit it's got a bit of everything over the top of the rise down into the already have turned two then through three and starting to climb up through turn four and five six up the rear H straight which is a little bit of a curve actually to turns eight and 8 a which nobody calls turn eight and eight hey that's the cor screw it is one of the most iconic pieces of racetrack not just here in the US but anywhere in the world then plunging down left-handed through rainy through turn number 10 which has got a real huge amount of banking in it and to the slowest corner on the circuit down at turn 11 which uh leads back on to the start Finish Line and we will be breing records uh today let's get down to Shay Adam our crowd strike pit reporter to make sure that the pit Lane first of all shade is all clear it's all clear and it's just me and the pit Lane officials down here and oh yeah the teams and Co drivers and all that stuff too but yes no no cars so hopefully we stay that way until our first round stops and everybody makes it in clean and green so that is good games Jeremy Shaw Sebastian BTE has another Cadillac pole position and what a pull position that was yeah great lap yesterday in a thrilling qualifying session it was just just a tenth of a second he had over D to so to break the Brazilian string of poll positions that he had this season all three other races he started from the poll but he didn't win a race so the wheel wheel and Cadillac racing team count number 31 they're hoping that second place on the grid will transfer into a victory at the end of the day the other car the the rivals at Cadillac the other Cadillac of course they started third in the last race at Long Beach but came through to win it and they are also the defending race series champ race winning champion here at this track as well so they're looking for a repeat so since the last time we were here the whole circuit has been repaved and plus we've got a new bridge over the start Finish Line as well tell those of you that are here that you're already enjoying the new infrastructure but it has seen a huge change in the lap time so here's our Porsche keys to the race it's a relatively short lap penalties will hurt you here it's about 28 30 seconds for a driveth through plus anytime you've got to stop on top of that as well it is our first two hours and 40 minute Race So a slightly different strategic look for this race having patient in traffic is going to be really important the racing line has rubbered up with the Michelin rubber uh this weekend but offline it's a little bit dicey and the tires well the tires amazingly enough there is more grip more mechanical grips so they're not working anywhere near as hard as they would have been in the past and Jeremy and I in Mion and cown agree were just debating whether we might see some people not change all four and therefore give themselves a little bit quicker turnaround in the pit Lan that will all depend on how much VP racing fuel is going in of course because you can't feel and tire at the same time it's the two Cadillacs on the front row 01 and 31 Sebastian bour and the Very rapid Brazilian port durar then BMW in the shape of Philip a in the number 24 the number six match Jam the best of the Porsche pensy Motorsports the 963 in fourth position rule three BM W again with the 25 and the number seven of Dan Cameron is the second of the PPM 963 Porsches uh Ricky Taylor and Lou delra 10 and 40 are the two Win tayor Racing atur as they share road number four and finishing off the GTP Field Time and Vander Helm for the bright yellow jdc Miller 963 alongside Ben viscal making his debut for proton competition in the black and gold number five Porsche and GTD Pro Nikki catsburg has a Porsche lock out on the front row with Antonio Garcia four and three alongside and in GTD it's Danny foral for Wayne Taylor racing in the Lamborghini uran number 45 with the record breaking 557 Patrick Gallagher Turner mport BMW when they cross cross the line Will Turner and turler Motorsport will have the most professional race starts of any team in the history of the BMW brand that's a few moments away they'll go green in a moment as we go green at the front of the field and the two Cadillacs streak away down towards the first corner and they're still too wide nobody breaking ranks there and turn of Motorsport have started their 557th race they become the te with the most RAC starts for BMW in history as at the front of the field Sebastian bour has converted from pole position in third Philip a looking pretty racy there and the two Porsches battling between themselves as well as they go through turn five to climb the hill for the first time nice clean start there John but Sebastian bour he was having to work rather harder than he would have liked to keep p d behind him just manages to do so but Dan they're still weaving around as a as a got the Bobby Rayle straightway up towards the cors crew try trying to get some proper heat into those Michelin tires coming down through rainy for the first time over 100 miles an hour through turn nine ra curve up to nearly 130 before breaking down and going all the way down the gear box to first for the left hander at the end of the lap well I'm encouraged by that but I think that was a pretty decent opening lap little bit wide for bour in the cor screw but the leader managed to keep some semblance of his Michelin tires uh on the track just about yeah that's going to be all right still had uh the uh left hand side Michelin on the red and white curve uh a 1195 off the start Jeremy I suspect by the time they come round next time uh the 116 lap record is going to be under threat even with tires that are still coming up to temperature and pressure and a full load of VP racing fuel yeah true that and uh it was interesting to see those two uh Pensky Pensky Porsches very very close together as well huge battling going on in GTD it looks like the Lamborghini has Still Still M maintained that position at front Danny foral really good effort by him to run behind those top six GTD Pro cars and then a big battle for second Patrick gallager just about holding off Russell Ward uh the guy lost out at the start in GTP was KY Filipe who uh contrived to lose three positions on that first didn't quite see what happened there I'm presuming he got shuffled a bit wide at the mar mar and Dre hairpin but I didn't see it and indeed so that is a new lap record a one minut 15. 676 on the first flying lap the old record 164 so put Sebastian B's name in the books again but I fancy that probably won't be the fastest lap of the race uh no and in GTD Pro Nikki catsburg goes to a 1223 at C above comment I think that was a 244 wasn't it uh in the past Antonio Garcia has gone even faster uh and in GTD Danny foral Who start from po position in the Lamborghini uran number 45 has done a 229 so I think that's the full the full set kaching on what is effectively the first proper flying lap after the green flag don't count the first one because you're not fully up to speed as you run to the line uh We've smashed all the existing lab records J yeah and RP might have smashed that record because he was I believe he was at the WC race yesterday so he's it back here yeah so uh he's he's here to cheer on his two cars running fourth and fifth at the moment in lock step but uh already they lost a fair bit to to the top three and in fact already Sebastian B is extending his lead 14s Now 1 minute 14.8 fiveanimalsmedia and uh then uh restarted with what was left so they didn't finish till um well after 8:00 they should have been finished at 7:00 didn't finish till after 8:00 uh so RP uh obviously uh being able to dictate his own shedule little bit of bump and grind for Mike SCH as he was trying to go by frankly Monte calvo in the vas Sullivan Lexus RCF GT3 and has in fact got that pass done as Martin kofer now has the best time in GTD Pro great run for faf Motorsport in the new livery for them for this weekend the McLaren uh wearing red and white that number nine c and a 121 924 kof has been pretty good all week end Jeremy really impressive for the Canadian te yeah indeed so I mean he first time here and that team did not test here so yeah you know even for the drivers who've been here for many many years it kind of feels like a new racetrack because of the amount of grip that it now has compared to what it used to be like so it's not such a dis disadvantage as it might normally be for a driver going to the track for the first time I mean experience is everything in this Sport and certainly you when you go back to a track for a second time you're always going to find a bit more speed and learn some of the nuances of the RAC track but now all those nuances are different to what they've been historically in the past so for someone like Marvin kir particularly if you're as good as he is as he has been throughout his career either in owh or since making the move to sports cars uh you know it's uh it's it's just like um it's a lot easier for him to get up to speed compared to some of the other contenders through the put Lane for our first drive through penalty of the day was the Forte racing Michi goyberg driven Lamborghini UR and that was for blocking and he looked like he was pretty quick down through the pit Lane as well that's already been served then for Misha goyberg also instant responsibility 32 Mike SK for that uh hip and thigh H and shoulder uh with the uh number 12 of Frankie Monty calvo however he's got away with a warning on that but that presumably will be his final warning hello to Chris suku who's watching and listening in the UK Steve tadman how great to have IM back uh good to know that you're on and guess what my eyes did not deceive me uh the fourer racing car was plus 20 km down the pit Lane uh 20 km hour so he'll be he'll be back in for that so he saved no time at all ad himo if you would like to get get in touch with us confirmation that the liqu money 557 then has started the race Patrick Gallagher second in class under a little bit of pressure at the moment from the Paul Miller Racing Madison snow GTD Pro car they're not battling in class same cars same performance potential same balance of performance just in the two different classes which are separated by the driver lineups and how they are built by the teams 557 starts for Will Turner and Turner m bort brilliant stuff it started for them in the Pro ranks back in 1998 at Topeka and Kansas when will was racing an E36 325 BMW and they've raced nothing but the Bavarian brand since and that's going to be a stop and hold penalty uh for Misha goyberg as the awe uh as the AWA Corvette gets a little bit side way as well going up the hill that's going to be 20 seconds so that is going to be um a loss of the lap the lead lap in class Jeremy and just what we've seen Porsche keis the race uh penalties can quite easily add up here that's an awful start the race for Misha gobber yeah it is not exactly what he didn't want in that car that's for sure but yeah a long long way to come back from it and um and that team always have has good strategic decisions and there's plenty of pace particular from lores Spinelli for the final stages of this race interesting up front Sebastian bour he's continued to extend his lead by Tenth or two each lap now 2.6 seconds uh last time around as he completed lap seven for our RAC Le over pipo danani who has edged just a little bit of a gap finally over Philip H who now is coming under intense pressure from those two Porsches there were more than uh more than a second or where even almost two behind the BMW but now they're caught up right with him again so the paces there you the the the gaps are evening out between most of those contenders there was a new F this lap of the race however a couple of laps ago that was by Conor D Filipe who lost that ground on the first lap at number 25 car running in eighth position but has set the fastest lap at the 1 minute 14.3 that's Jeremy Shaw I'm John Hof good to have you company for performance Global broadcast uh Broad Center bringing you all of the action from the imer WeatherTech Sports Car Championship here at the tech Raceway Laguna sea down through the g box for Dan Cameron then into the final corner all the way down to First and the Front Runners are already in traffic Sebastian bour with 1.1 second of a lead up over 150 M an hour for the 2 Porsche gtps before they head to the back of the Sheena monk driven 66 NSX Honda JG went with machine so they're carving their way through the back of the GT field at the moment now we'll talk about energy for the gtps as well this is the combined uh this is the combined electrical and petrol power and each of the cars as part of the balance of performance have an amount of power that they can use within a stint from Pit Stop to Pit Stop Now remembering that the electrical Hybrid Power doesn't boost the engine it takes over from it and so it's a question of balancing that through the stint so we'll be talking about how much energy there is remaining that's not just fuel that's the whole energy coefficient if you will for each of the cars and at the moment the ellr has 81% left of his energy now if you want to see exactly moment there's also live traces for gear shift for their speed and whether they are on the throttle or the brake or indeed both and when they're in the pits it will show you whether they are changing sail at the moment over two seconds ahead of danani yeah he he's worked his way working his way through the traffic of course now in in GTD and that Gap is fluctuating as it is amongst all of the leading contenders here as they work their way through it's really interesting I mean traffic taketh and traffic giveth giveth away as well you know you're going to lose some time and then you're going to gain some time relativ to your rival hello to Johnny M one of the orange Army in the UK to right turn lover as well saying 557 such an impressive number for turn of Mor sport who was the previous record holder um well we mentioned that that was Schnitzer BMW the late Carl Charlie Lamb's team much missed in sports car racing in now a couple of moments ago second third and fourth going past the cour of 32 green AMG and it looks like people Duran just caught the front edge of that GT car people down the inside and the 32 turning into the Prototype this time for my money and that was Mike SK just misjudging that one he's on the other side of the car as he turns into turn three so we're not going to blame him that much it has been a bit of a COR CRA recently pigani of course having that spectacular accident at sabring from which he walked away though the car was upside down on the tire wall and on Saturday yesterday a similar car from Chip ganassi racing at Spar clipp the back of a Ty Porsche WIP the nose of a of the 31 wrt BMW and got Airborne halfway down the camel straet with Earl Bamber on board Earl's fine by the way the car needs some uh remedial work and Earl's been assessed to five grid Place penalty for the next wac race which of course will be at lamon so still running with a decent bit of margin at the front of the field in fact even threw traffic Jeremy Sebastian bour really showing his worth because he's made that two second lead to 2.3 even though he's hitting the traffic first and that's always the danger isn't it for the leader that you kind of and I I'll say this I don't mean it detrimentally but you kind of wake up the traffic cuz you're the first one coming to them yeah I mean you know they all the the GG drivers know that there's a GTP car coming behind they have spotters out there plus they have uh you pretty good systems on these cars to alert to traffic coming up behind them faster traffic coming up behind them but still it's it's certainly you know the the driver of the passing car I bour as a leader he's he's always a little bit wary as to whether or not the guy has seen him coming so it is a bit more difficult from that perspective but the Gap certain from first to second it's fluctuating uh but he's now uh going to have clear clear laps again having negotiated all of that GTD traffic for the first time with now 12 laps in the books and uh and all the GT Cars one lap down he's now going to have a few laps or quite a few laps actually of clear running again and already the last lap time last couple of lap times were an 182 and a 171 then immediately now even though he passed a few cars on that last lap a 161 last time around so uh you know he'll be grateful for that and the Gap it it had gone out as much as 2.3 seconds it came down to as 1.6 but as you just said John out to well over 2 and a half seconds now got the number 86 Porsche off the circuit between turns three and four Kang Lee for MDK Motorsport in what is it very elegant that dark red metallic and bright yellow color scheme he's back on the circuit he was running down in 14th play ahead of only Misha Gober for MDK and I'm pretty certain he's got out back out ah head of Misha as well so he'll hold on to that 14th uh position in class Let's uh check in on the GTD Pro action and the first of our VP in race updates Nicki catsburg leads by about half a second with Antonio Garcia sitting in behind him his teammate that's four from three the two Chevy Corvettes then it's uh Marvin kofer the McLaren of fa Motorsport about two seconds behind he's got three qus of a second on Jack Hawksworth in the fast Sullivan Lexus number 14 and SE prio for E racing in rexi the bright green Porsche 911 number 77 and he's got about a second on Mario Farmer for Heart of racing team in the Asen Martin That's the top six in GTD Pro Runing in those positions from 11th down to 16th on the timings uh scoring mon Danny foral from Paul leits for Lamborghini and for Wayne Taylor racing with Andrei Global the 45 car has second on Patrick gallager for Turner Motorsport in that l m 557 and then Russell Ward for Winward racing his 3 seconds further back and with the GT Pro behind the top six in gtt made up by cof the 32 that just had that little ding with P durani Spencer pompell for Heart of racings number 27 car and frankly Mony calvo for the Lexus RCF number 12 Lexus back to running one C in each of the GT categories GTD Pro and GTD after the course they ran two cars in GTD at Long Beach because there's no GTD Pro hello to Ren deur listening From the Terrace after a beautiful sunny Sunday listenting and watching Rene good to know that you're online see you I'm sure in the next month or so at one two or more RAC tracks around the world getting into a very busy serial now for international sports car racing with the uh next round of him are coming up in Detroit which is the same round uh the same week end as the Leon test day excuse me no it's not that's the same weekend as the nerb ring 24 hours then it's lont test day which is the same weekend as Mid Ohio for imza then we've got lemon uh then there's the Watkins Glenn IMS race and then there's the nerur ring 24 hours as uh The Spar crowd strike Spar 24 hours excuse me uh the we end after uh no peace if you're in sports cars at the moment isn't that fantastic the Ford Mustang running its tribute libery this Livery this weekend Jeremy which is an homage to uh Champion ship winning Ford Mustangs of the past yeah a whole bunch of them and uh I think the car looks really cool actually uh and what whatever corner you look at it it's a different color uh which is makes it a bit bit complicated particularly the fact there's two of them out there and the only difference I think I've found is the is the uh the window strip the the winds screen strip which is black on the 65 car and white on number 64 so it's really difficult to take to tell the two cars apart if you can't see their wind screens but I think it looks stunning and as you say I mean there's been so much success for Mustang over the years over the past 60 years the uh the liery this liery was actually unveiled in Charlotte 60 years to the day after the introduction of the first road goingo forward Mustang back in uh in uh 64 so uh that that in itself is pretty cool but yeah I love particularly I love that that orange on the left front fenders which goes back to the pelli Jones and and George uh George former Mustang days back in the TransAm in the early 70s really cool yeah that birthday was uh the 18th of April uh if I think sorry 17th of April see I knew I would get that wrong um 17th of April and this there's a lot of a lot going on in this anniversary year as you might imagine that car has had a little bit of a makeover as well technically uh in the early part of this year you'll remember um we had a couple of incidents in more than one series actually where the the re boot lid the trunck lid kept folding up and causing them some aerodynamic problems and also it was it was a little bit of a safety issue and also they couldn't keep the diffuser underneath the back of the car on the car now that diffuser was designed to be quick release and it was rather releasing itself too quickly if it got a little bit of a tap and Ford had applied a multimat could applied to Ima and to the FIA AC for the wac to change the homologation the homologation is like the technical passport for all these cars and they have to comply to that every time they come to the track that is put before the uh that's put before the series and the sanctioning bodies before the car is allowed to race and there is a process it's called a rata um having made a mistake an era uh where for safety and reliability issues you can make changes within the homologation and that's what fora multim maning applied to do there's been some strengthening on the boot lead the truck lead there's been some extra is put on there and there's been a change in the way that the undertray at the back of the car is fitted to uh try and mitigate the problems that they had early on and In fairness since that's been done there's been no recurrence of that problem let's check back in with the front of the field for a moment as Sebastian bour is now 8.2 seconds ahead of the similar car of the Wheeland Cadillac racing team the 31 of p danani and in GT Pro it's called Corvette from Corvette 710 of a second how many times down through the years Jeremy have we seen this with these guys putting in uh lap times that we within half a second or so of each other that seems to be the Pratt Miller and Corvette racing way it certainly does doesn't it and uh they're running in kind of lock Step at the moment and looking very very strong here in the early stages that he tested here of course as did quite a few of the teams uh a week or two ago and they're clearly reaping the benefits to that but tell well out and Danny foral doing a really nice job in that deck's Imaging uh and wtr andred Lamborghini still leading in the GTD section pulled out about a second and a half over Patrick Gallagher so those two positions unchanged from the start uh at the front of the field however Sebastian bour has clearly L lit the the blue touch paper because he is just firing off into the distance he said a new uh personal best lap four or five laps ago and then a new fastest lap of the race on lap 16 we just completed lap 19 on a 1 minute 14.19 and all of a sudden now he's 7 and 1 half seconds ahead of pipo danani that is a surprise just looking down the top 10 25 BMW the team rlll con Filipe car dropped down from the start uh and Shay Adam might be able to give us a little bit of a crowd strike pit L update on that car the crew members are limbering up for the 25 BMW so Conor kipi looks like he's going to be coming in to get four new Michelin tires they say Tech D6 so this is the final set of the weekend for this team or at least the last one that they allotted there were six sets for the weekend three that you were allowed to use between qualifying the race this doesn't mean that they're out of new tires it just means that they're using set six next um the other team that was just up on the wall which was a little bit interesting for Super Mario F Walker sticker Michelin tires no sign of a helmet in Ross gun as of yet oh no wait nope there is they are going to put Ross in on their next stop and it looks like that's going to be soon minimum drive time was only 10 minutes for the two pro classes so we could see driver changes ASAP yeah good point just uh 10 minutes in the Pro classes there Jeremy for dve yeah correct and I think for condia I think he knows that car is faster than it's showing so he he's looking for some clean air I think he's he's tucked up behind the two Acuras uh now all of a sudden there's a big there's a train again the cars from second through to eighth position which is colia pretty much nose to tail separated by less than a second each of them uh and I he feels like he's been held up so bring him into the pits get him on a probably perhaps a fresh C ties um and um and trying to turn some fast laps so that he can can undercut those other contenders if he comes in makes a pit stop now turns some faster ear laps than the Cs he's racing with by time they come in the pits you're ahead of them that's the theory waiting for pit stops to start then and we're hearing har racing the number 23 will be in the pit Lan next time around Philip a ahead of the two Porsches of match jamire and Dane Cameron third fourth and fifth down into the andred Hain with traffic ahead one of those two Mustangs that Jeremy was talking about just easy to drive his left and looks like there's going to be a re uh a reasonable amount of cars coming in uh and also hearing that the wind tailor racing Acura has been pinged for over power using too much power now at the moment that is a warning we've seen this before so let's keep an eye on that uh and make sure that they're done there are torque senses on each of the uh on each of the gtps not yet being introduced into the GTD class as it has been onto the GT cars in w see and basically that will that will give a real time reading to imza and to their technical department about how much power is being used at an instant not through the stint through the instant and Def filipi has peeled off into the pit Lane Shay will get to you in the moment as the Porsche is right it's number seven Porsche right up behind delr saw Dave Cameron and had a little incident there and the number 10 car has been black flagged so a warning for wi tiller racing number 40 Acura and for the number 10 car that's a tire pressure issue that they have been H having so they will have to come into the pit Lane immediately sh Adam with BMW and con fbe drama with this Carn they've done the fuel they've done the driver change but the right rear wheel refused to come off now they're able to put a new Michelin onto this car dropped the car off the air jacks and Nick yellowy taking it back out so that was yellow helmets getting into both the 25 bmwm team rlll hybrid and the number 23 hard of racing team who had an excellent stop Mario farer got out Frost gun got in so that number 10 car Jeremy will have to come in straight away now what happened to Dame Cameron it was up the top of the cork screw oh and he got a bit of a hit check as well from Lou deatri and that shuffled the pack at the top of the hill and is the car okay oh and then clipped the green numbered uh GTD number 12 Vasa Sullivan RCF so it's getting as we thought Jeremy in this uh in our keys to the race in the michion countdown AG green our Porsche Keys race patience in traffic uh GTP drive is not showing much of at the moment looks like they're all driving for their jobs at the moment and we're not even halfway through the season yeah true that and uh well they are because it is so intense everybody wants to be driving these cars don't they I mean not every professional driver wants to be driving a GTP car or a or a hyper car these days so there's there's a great future there for these drivers uh and proper pay being banded about these days and here's a number 20 second place car coming in for a pit stop as well he lost a lot of ground however to Sebastian bour and we've got what 29 minutes remaining these cars can do if they're on fuel save I believe GTB cars can do about 65 minutes of all green racing so from here to the end they can get there on one on one stop but they will be having to save some fuel they need some caution in order to be able to go flat out to the end and that's why I think Sebastian bour will stay out probably another 5 or 10 minutes to give himself much more of a buffer for those uh the timing of those final two pit stops final pit stop I Shay Adam is watching the pit stops for us our crowd strike pit Lane reporter F on right side tires for p Don he stays aboard the Wayland engineering Cadillac fuel and four tires as well as a driver change for the number 10 kuk minola arra the Wayne Taylor with andred crew did a phenomenal stop they got all four tires changed before the car was even close to being done with the refueling that's exactly as you would like a pipo waiting for the refueling they had time to do four tires for the 31 they elected not and now it's Philipe aluer in the 10 this one to the end rejoining through the first corner and onto the back straight or onto the short straight should I say uh between turns two and three and so the strategy has begun Jeremy and don't forget that number 10 had to come in because they had to fix the tire pressure so presumably what they have done have is taken off the offending set of tires Jeremy and put on a new set of Michelin that were pressured correctly yeah presumably so that's a um that's not what that team needed and um and yeah TI presses Acuras yeah let's not go into that one from Daytona last year completely different issue um presumably um but U yeah that'll be costly of course that that pit stop I mean you it wasn't it I don't think it was a a fact that they couldn't do other service so it might not be too costly from that perspective correct yeah absolutely they are right now at the tail end yeah it's it's a it's effectively a mechanical Black Flag um so you can do the other service there so long as you fix the bit that needs fixing and Sebastian P then putting a lap now on Philipe aluer as he goes through [Music] and as they go through the early part of the lap so B has not stopped Philip a has not stopped this is the o one the 24 the six Porche pensy Motorsport Matthew Jam the better placed of the two Porsche pensy Motorsport Porsches Lou deatra in the 40 has not stopped so I reckon at the moment the best of the stoppers in GTP will be Pete wani won't he in the will and Cadillac guy yes it is down in eighth position yeah and that going to play out yeah and the MW car number 25 they lost a lot of ground dra on that pit stop because they come out 18 uh yeah 18 seconds behind even the number 10 car so very very costly miscue there or problem in the pits for number 25 car it's really they got no luck at all this season I mean that car was really fast at Long Beach last time out Nick YY qualified that car on the front row of the grid the first time a BMW has qualified on the front row and a really good strong race too until the timing of a full cause caution in the middle of the race just killed their strategy and then after that they're involved in an accident as well so the race went from things went from bad to worse for that number 25 team but other than that they were super strong there and they've been looking really strong all this weekend as well as evidence sced by Philip H but he's now 16 seconds nearly 17 behind a race leader Sebastian Bo that's assist car number 24 for Philip and Danny foral continues to lead in TD and he's been pushing the outer edges of the envelope for the last few laps down at the right hander at turn 10 at least on the exit of that he's put his Mell and ties in the dirt at least a couple of three times that I've seen so bour by 17 seconds from BMW's Philip in second all one from 24 from Javan in third for Porsche in GTD Pro it's the two Corvettes four from three separated Now by on a Second Marin Marvin k offer for uh faf motorport is 3 seconds further back and a further 4 seconds back in fourth Jack Hawks Smith for Lexus number 14 set preo for AO racing makes up the top five in GTD Danny for mile by about two seconds from Patrick Gallagher who has the fastest GTD lap of the race for Turner Motorsport 557 the LI Bing car and third in that class Winward racings Russell Ward that's your VP racing in race update with just over two hours and four minutes to go and it's hotting up again behind Sebastian bour he's gone I mean he has checked out but for second third and fourth it's a lot more interesting with the uh ma jamer Lou deatra Dan Cameron and Philip a all having a bit of a battle at the moment yeah I mean bour is just um making everybody look silly quite frankly I mean he's uh he just pulling away at will at 1 minute 15.0 last time around for him nobody else well the one other car was in the 15s that's Ben visol actually in the proton car number five did turned to 155 everybody else in GTP turning 16s or 17s some them working their way through traffic admittedly but still uh he's just uh leaving everybody far far [Music] behind yeah that uh little battle that I was referring to that was Lou deatri uh Dane Cameron tyon Vander Helms just a little bit further back and in there is Nick y actually he's a lap down now to the leaders of GTP in the number 24 BMW as is Philip aluer in the number 10 at your ARX 06 they will be looking to go very very very long here and try and get a lap back who will uh the the uh those uh those two they've already made their stop obviously and the others haven't but yeah Nick Y is is pretty quick his last half around 152 and he's he's closed in the last two laps he's closed almost three seconds on the number 10 car Philip aler both of those two cars then one lap down to Sebastian bour it's a one horse race in GTP but in GTD uh Pro it's a it's a one car race at the moment although the McLaren is hanging in there fairly well it's two or three seconds back to Marvin Kirk offer who's pulling away from Jack Hawksworth the gap between third and fourth now has gone up to 4 seconds and Hawksworth instead having to fend off that Porsche of AO racing and St prio but the two Corvettes running in lock Step at the front of the field in GTD Pro as they as they were yesterday in [Music] qualifying Jeremy Shaw he's with me John hindol for the four performance Global he's got pass time and vanderhelm uh and those two are they're running about the same interestingly the Gap back from them to pipo durani hasn't changed since pipo danani made his pit stop it's about 43 seconds between the seventh and eighth place cars so people D making no ground whatsoever on those two private pores that's kind of interesting to me because they the two pores are about 27 seconds behind Sebastian bour of course is the class of his own he's 17 seconds clear now of Philip B in second place who's still being tracked by Matthew Jamin in number six Porsche so that little flurry of action in the pit Lane said to a crowd strike pit reporter uh Shay Adam and find out who is looking most likely that's clearly strategic early on for some of those GTP teams uh sh they have taken themselves out of the of the fight for the moment they'll be looking for that to come back later on what else are you hearing down there on the L I'm waiting for Rexy cuz our favorite dinosaur is supposed to be coming into the pit Lane and poor Lauren HR has been standing on the pit wall for about five laps now as well as the rest of the AO racing crew with honestly tires in hand the fuel gun about 7 Seconds ahead of him actually he's not he's about 15 seconds ahead between those two Ford Mustangs and the the Privateer Mustang of Cory Lewis is only three or 4 seconds behind Dirk mu so it's been a struggle for them but here now is our gcd Pro leader into the pit Lane and Sh ad is waiting for him it's a full service stop fuel tires and Tommy beler installed behind the wheel at number four Corvette that started from the p position these are sticker Michelin ooh good catch they almost installed the wrong Tire on the right front that would have been a problem once they had left the Michelin RFID readers that would have been picked up and noted they're doing a windshield tear off for Tommy as well the good news is no harm no foul the fuel probe is still attached so Corvette racing has not lost anything Pratt Miller with this team the name proudly displayed on the car at every fire suit we go there's Tommy mner out on the track Rexy did in by the way it was fuel tires and got Mick granny ready to jump off the- wall for the KPM Mercedes the number 32 taking over for Mike SCH Fuel and new tires both of those cars as well and then Winward the team that won the first two races of the season the 36 hours of Florida that's Russell Ward who is done and it's now Phil Ellis who's taking over this team two dnfs in the last two years at this race they're looking to put that behind them as they give Phil four new michelins we've got sper pelli in the lane for Heart of racing Aston Martin he will be staying in the lane because it's time for Roman d'angeles to take over and the wall and still Sebastian bordo continues to circulate late 167 last time around he's getting towards 20 seconds here J I mean this is an absolute Master Class by the B from Leon yeah it is it's uh it's remarkable uh last time around a one minute 15.6 for bour the second place car Philip B 1 minute 17.2 so there's another second and a half there as you say 18 and 1 half seconds between the two leaders at the moment and uh yeah it's a one horse race and he can dictate whenever he want I mean he can come into the pits anytime he likes quite frankly and I wonder whether we might see the car in fairly soon they can the GTP cars can run about 55 56 minutes at full chat flat out uh without any energy save uh and um so from from here to the end they can do that and I would I would fancy we might see bour into the pits fairly soon because if there is if there were to be a full cuse caution the pits would be closed and he would lose all of that advantage that he has gained let's go back to sh Adam she's got the 554 Mustang in and that is Cory Lewis coming in at Fourth position and you've just had to CH turn Molly car as well Cory saying aboard getting fuel and four new Michin tires but it was a very near Miss between e and the Turner Motorsports BMW who was sent out of his pit box just a few seconds before as the two of them cross paths in perfect synchronicity it worked out just well but now it is Robbie award the turn Taco machine and for new Michelin tires they did have stickers on still into the PS also fa Motorsport that is yes and Driver change Olie Jarvis is taking over for Marvin K Chopper and they are doing four sticker Michelin tires and also right Motorsports was into the pit Lane Adam addon doing a great job in his opening s for the 120 Porsche handing over to Elliot scare just a little bit of fun for you gentlemen if by chance this car makes it onto the podium this weekend they're uh strategist genius biggest brain in the universe BBY will'll have to wear a mullet for the next [Music] [Laughter] week I love that sort of stuff path then the red and white number nine is back out again and that mol uh sponsored that new liery for this race only they're going to have a couple of uh specific liy oh we got quite a big piece of debris out on the circuit this could be a full course yellow and chance to get into the pit Lane here the pits are closed this is a turn two and there's an L-shaped piece of deut this is a disaster Jeremy for Cadillac racing and Sebastian bour um yeah actually it is and um if there's any good news number 10 number 25 are a lap down and so uh well they can stay out and they should be able to get back on the lead lap I suppose but yeah no this is not good news uh for those who who have not pitted for those who did Pit earlier on Mana from Heaven because this is going to give him the track position that is so important uh at this racetrack I'm surprised that Cadillac racing didn't bring bour in I mean the last couple or three laps they could have brought him in he could go flat out to the end uh with no fuel concerns whatsoever and it was a risk they were taking by staying out there and it's uh it's backfired they yeah it will if all of the guys you need to p p people or danani will be leading try and work out where the bit of debris has come from it's substantial uh and it it I I can't work out what part of the car it actually is it oh my goodness the 86 car ran right over it right over it with the front of the Porsche and and now I don't know where it's gone it's completely it's stuck right on the front of the kerang Lee 86 car and it's dragging it along and we think it's a piece of Porsche piece of Pensky Porsche at that um that has now is now right over the left hand radiator intake oh now it's moving to the middle and the right now if Kang re just breaks really quickly he might spit that off the track somewhere uh whilst that is going on let's go down to Turner BMW Patrick Gallagher did the first part of the race he's out of the car now because Robbie Foley is in which means we can take this crowd Tri pit report and hear from him with Jay Adam Patrick you did exactly what they needed you to drove out drove as hard as he could and kept it toward the front you feel like this is a BMW that'll actually get you guys to the Victory Lane today yeah our liquid Molly Bell Haven Investments Turner motor sport BMW is really fast uh that Lamborghini is not slow either I was able to keep with him I felt like I could hold Pace with him but he was just a little better catching the traffic just getting lucky in traffic uh but him and I kind of ran away and hid it looked like so I don't know I I just sat down on the box so I'm not sure if this yellow is good or bad for us but uh you know we got the best guys in the business here at Turner Motorsport and his BMW's fast it's our uh 557th race hoping for some uh Lady Luck to get us in Victory Lane we'll see you good luck thank you shay well that piece of bodyw workk was spit out at turn at number 11 um slightly less of it uh In fairness it's a fairly substantial piece of carbon fiber as I said which seems to have come off air Porsche and ironically um or coincidentally it's been picked up by another Porsche this time the uh Porsche rapid response vehicle a new 2024 Porsche cayen wave Buys have just happened or should I say pass arounds Jeremy explain that for us please yeah so for those of you not familiar with the MW Tech Sports Car Championship multiclass racing uh and in order not to inconvenience or destroy the races of uh cars in in the lower classes from GTP uh cars that have not been lapped by their respective class leaders uh and I that's anybody trapped in between the safety car at the front of the field and the class leader which in GTD is number is the number three car all those cars in between can go past the other GTP cars past the safety car and pull around to the back of the field to take up their rightful positions where they have earned during this race so they're not inconvenienced by the timing of this full course caution so the cars from number 557 the Patrick gag we just heard from Patrick gag he was trapped behind the safety car but that car now with Robbie Foley at the wheel and all the cars behind it or a bunch of the cars behind it m goyberg Philip Ellis Michael ginier uh Roman d'angeles and uh at least I think not sure about Roman deangeles actually he might have been lapped by the uh by the number three car but all those other cars can go around to the back of the field and then the pits will be opened which is the case right now and GTP cars come on to can come onto the pit Lane those that were lap down in GTP Philip aluer and yellow Le likely will stay out so they can go past and then before we go back to green again what's the pit stops are completed they will be back on the lead lap with the other contenders in GTP shair Adam our crowd strike pit reporter has eight of the 10 GTP cars in the P Lake and it is fuel and tires for for everybody down here Michelin is going to be very happy because everybody is doing new rubber seeing a couple of driver changes I did see the number 85 did quote Richard West be the wheel so jdc Motorsport with time Vader hel out it looked like Jimmy bruny's helmet jumping aboard the number five for proton competition first car back off and away no surprises to anyone it's wh and Engineering with pepo who had needed less fuel than anyone else and he did take left side tires that time I do believe I think my eyes were not deceiving me last car in the pit Lane though very rarely that I say say this it's a Pensky Porsche uh also H coming in for a second time the uh number 31 wh and Cadillac and they put jack aen in that car that was one of the cars that stopped really early but of course Jeremy they'll get out quickly and they have I think got out first because they needed far less fuel than everybody else exactly right yes and uh that's you know they um yes yeah I I expected them to be leading I didn't know whether they would risk coming in to the put Lane um so what they've done and that's really clever um they they've what what they've done is basically put themselves on the same Pit Stop strategy now as everybody else but because they were in uh just 18 laps ago um then um they've been able to turn that car around a lot quicker than everybody else correct and now they have track position and as you say they're on the they're good to go with everybody else all of the GTP cars will have to make one more pit stop before the end of the race uh the number 10 number 25 car still a lap down uh they will get the the wave around before we go back to green then they will make their Pit Stop uh so they at least will be back on the lead lap but they'll still be right at the back of the pack and potentially depending on when we go back to green might not even have caught up to the back of the pack before we go back to green frag racing but now full scale pit stocks for GTD and GTD Pro a lot fewer cars down the pit Lane this time as we had the number three Corvette Alexander Sims was on the wall before we got to that yellow he is now being installed behind the wheel of the number three Corvette there are sticker tires going on that car as well no damage to the front of the 86 the MDK Motorsports Porsche that picked up that little bit of Dy that cus this yellow so that's good news for them they have done their driver change it's Sanders F back board now Caroline Lee is out also in for a driver change was Forte racing mberg out Loris Finelli in new tires for them first car in the pit Lane was the number three Corvette first car back out will be the number 23 part of racing Ross gun as then comes the Corvette and then the 45 Lamborghini so that's Kyle marceli taking over the pole sitting car from GTD fuel tires and the driver change for them I think we can confirm that the piece of debris was from Philipe nazza Porsche Pensky Motorsport 963 the number seven cut from uh the the back clip effectively they replaced the whole rear not the engine deck but the rear Parts the bits behind the rear wheels and the rear wing all one bit and that got a new one during that pit stop uh the 01 Cadillac getting all four tires and that was a second of scrubbed melins that were going onto that car also a set of lightly used tires that went onto the BMW and what did Jack aen get they look like they are yes they are well there might be new actually they as they are pulling out of the pit Lane a moment or two go uh Richard Wy is a big Porsche fan in Cape Town hello South Africa nice to know that you are watching and listening so a green flag pck stop early on for some of the gtps that's now all being leveled up with a yellow flag safety carpet stop and back into the pit Lane again for the number seven now I thought they'd already changed that rear clip but it's coming in and the right rear of that car is still broken Shay very much broken and yeah they're using this opportunity to change the rear clip they're going to pull it off wow that came off the smoothest I have ever seen a rear clip from a Porsche 963 maybe things are finally going their way putting the new one on let's see yep the tail lights click into place it goes and it fires up and leaves the pit box that's actually good luck for the number seven yeah um extra time down the pit Lane um for them I actually thought they'd done that in the original stop this all happened uh with uh some contact earlier on um it was it clipped the was that the car that clipped the court off uh the court of AMG uh earlier on and that eventually fell off oh no that was Pap wasn't it um it was number six car that was right in behind the deck's Imaging Lamborghini so which car did the number seven uh clip as they were passing I can't remember now um somebody could let me contact before uh the AWA Corvette was in and the right Porsche was in only for fuel they fell off at turn five uh we've got a B situation again we've had this before it was at Indianapolis wasn't it where we've got two cars behind the safety car side by side uh presumably we're waiting to find out where they should be Nick tandi and Jack Akin uh who will know each other very very well uh have been going side by side as I say they I presume they're waiting for uh race control to confirm who should be at the front of the field but there's been a bit of passing and repassing there tandi was in front now Jack aen is in front Dan was in front and then then Tandy and now again yeah yeah curious um so 31 and six are the two cars we're talking about this is all from when they came out of the pit Lan now Aken was definitely ahead of the six Porsche as they go to the line yeah um and they were under the yellow so I'm not sure what was going on there with Bensky Motorsport and wh and Cadillac racing however whatever it is it's been it's been resolved unless they were trying to tell the POR came in safety C they go a bit quicker the pair of them not sure yeah but I mean you're not allowed to overtake behind the safety car unless you're told to do so and uh Nick tley did um so kind of weird hello to Dave alock listening and watching in the UK he says how come your camera operators seem to know exactly what US fans want to see they are clearly using the power of their minds to read us yes and our production team uh in Nas at NASCAR Productions up in North Carolina who the end of the season I also suspect it will very much depend what happens with the we side of Cadillac racing they'll have to run two cars in wac next year if as the rumors we're talking with uh John de geese of sports 365 on midweek M spot on Wednesday the rumors of way Taylor with andreti are true about taking over running the zero1 car for Cadillac racing they want to run two cars as well well uh so we're racking up on the chassis there already so let's see if that is true uh Shay Adam is down in the pit Lane let's see if we can get some clarity about what's been going on through this extended safety car period we only needed to move a little bit of body workor uh but there's been and the safety car lights have just gone out but there's uh been a bit of reshuffling going on well the interesting thing is that the 30 one's pit box for wh and Engineering is about eight boxes down the pit Lane because of their place in the championship the six on the other hand is right behind the seven who is our Championship leader so when you leave your pit box you're supposed to go from the transition Lane back to the fast lane the six doesn't actually have enough space before the pit exit to make it all the way back out to the fast lane so perhaps when leaving the pit box Nick Tandy stayed in the transition Lane and felt he was fully ahead of pipo Don before the Michelin RFID readers any car that's in the trans transition Lane if there is any overlap must yield to the car already in the fast lane but then it gets messy because what if you can't actually get to the fast mon calvo led the gtds to the line having leap frogged all of the GTD Pro as we will have a penalty for working outside the pig box that's not the first time we've seen that this weekend this one's been a set on MDK Motorsports Porsche of the 86 yellow and red car and Anders fback will be back down the pit Lane in a we while so nice reach by tandi hello to wait a minute what happened here yeah the swap round before we went back to green they've switched again though I missed that no they came to the line with Nick tandi leading correct oh sorry they Jack go back past him now has he correct that's not on the timing screen is yet oh there it goes yeah you're right sorry apologies it's the second of the um cadillax that's behind him now I'm thoroughly confused by all this swapping and changing behind the the safety car um the uh timing screen which um I actually rather like does only change at the start Finish Line and so if we can't see it then it hasn't happened actually um so Jack H then back at the head of the field after all those Shenanigans behind the safety car it was Nick Tandy that led them to grein however uh drive through for the number 70 sorry Jeremy go ahead what happened number 85 car got shuffled out as well as well he was running in sixth position at the restart all of a sudden he's last in that train that's rich Richard Westbrook he got shuffled out got pushed offline got pushed off line at the restart by one of the BMWs bour past Nick tandi at the cork screw that's rang of Vander excuse me of course there's number Z1 car yeah yeah um uh Richard Westbrook got pushed offline on the restart at Happ him by one of the BMWs uh Loris Spinelli's been down the pit Lane for 4 because they didn't do the minimal minimum full refueling time that was his drive-thru so a couple of pit Lane penalties there we'll sett it down and just get back racing in a second or two the Jack Aken then with Nick Tandy struggling to in fact both of the Porsches struggling to get back the pace they do um seem to take a we bit longer to get their tires back up to temperature and pressure also a big sideways moment there for Philip aluer in the number 10 Acura coming through turn number 10 all a bit untiy at the front of the field at the moment yeah pretty much the same in GTD as well because Parker was leading at the restarting car number 12 in the nonpr car and he's not now got shuffled a long way back Frankie mon carus surely it's Parker Thompson driving that car isn't it this is the number the number 12 car we're talking yeah Robie Foley leading that category so yeah because he's got because because Parker got Shuffle back a whole bunch of positions at him radio if you want to be in touch with us the 01 now back into second place then so it's the two Cadillacs Parker is not in that car he's still sitting on the bench in the pit lanee what so timing is correct so they they'll make one further stop presumably as they will have to with an hour 27 remaining so frankly Monty calvo is in that number 12 car she has seen the Canadian with her own eyes I was told you was going to be getting in the car that's weird and Jimmy vasset has confirmed that as well thank you Jimmy call yes uh best lap in GTD has just gone to I'm sure very fired up Loris spelli after his driveth through in that four day racing Lamborghini uran the GT lap record now standing at a 121 368 and more debris more of the cheese wedge from behind the rear wheel of one of the cars and that's been broken off recently it's not the same piece as before it's turn two again though same spot on the track if we can just have the N the 86 to go and pick that up and bring it back around for us please that'll save everything uh being neutralized how far off line is it see as they come through turn two and down towards turn three I can't see it there well race controller reporting it on the exit of turn two the number 12 car didn't come into the pits at all no no it has hasn't down there yet right there we go okay new GTD prap record new tires for a all racing and Lauren Hinrich 1212 so the lap and the performance reset again driv is telling us that the tire where was nowhere near what it has been but still a new set of Michelin are still a new set of Michelin or a less used set of Michelin if you like Hello to Tilly who is watching and listening in cering in North North Hampshire thoroughly enjoying the racing so far an epic weekend this weekend with uh a 24-hour race a 6-hour race that turned out to be uh actually closer to 12 hours from start to finish uh Friday Saturday and Sunday as well as the inter racing as well for our RSL teams reg Shaw limited connect ing you with endurance Motor Racing we' got it covered for you around the world Jarvis now behind the wheel of the faf motor sport number nine leading GTD Pro for McLaren and for the Canadian team that is the first time that they have L about to put a lap on the andreti Motorsport car Gabby charz behind the wheel of that that's 11th position about to go a lap down and Sher tells me that's the first time that that McLaren from faf has led this season Loris Benelli with another fastest lap in [Music] GT he is still on the back of the league lap despite that driveth through jack Aken and Ranger Vander not making the break Jeremy from Nick Tandy Jordan Taylor and the rest of GTP as the Sebastian bour stint early on as the Mustang number 65 has just had off track moment for Joy hand and I don't think I've said that very many times in Joy's career that to turn five so now Jeremy how long do we reckon before do you see you thought the gtps can go about 50 minutes 5 Z minutes 5 six minutes they counting now at the end of the race yeah 55 56 minutes they can do a flat out okay or they can probably on fuel save you can probably do as much as 65 without yellows um so uh I I would expect uh uh pit stops you know with uh around about an hour to go so about 20 minutes from now and the gcd cars they can do about an hour as well and you generally want to try and make your final pit stop before everybody else to ward off exactly what happened to Z1 car because if there is a full cause caution the pits get closed yeah question is do you want to take a bit of a gamble uh and yeah and if if there is yellow then you can make that pit stop before that but if there isn't you're in major fuel save uh Alan prer has done his excellent work again thank you Alan um it was the uh Lexus number 12 that the number seven Porsche hit uh sometime earlier in the race right rear to front left right rear Porsche front left to Lexus Alan you are a superstar the brilliantly uh uh the brilliantly monikered at lanor camel and in fact here is the Lexus into the pit Lane with damage to that front left from earlier on sh Adam has this FR St standing in the perfect spot to see the damage and yep it's uh it's cosmetic it looks like that piece could actually just peel right off unfortunately it has dive fls on it that's not going to be helping the arrow any as parner th the resident Canadian jumps forward this number 12 leus sticker Michelin tires Frank mon Calo gets out after a job well done I do want to talk to Frankie particularly because he's got a ton of experience around this track in Lexus Machinery having raced here for several years great stop by the vaster Sullivan crew just waiting on the fuel there's just immense amounts of heat coming off the brakes that'll get those michelins nice and warm in no time as Parker gets his belt completely done plugs in his cool suit makes sure everything is good to go reaches up behind him to plug his helmet into the vent waiting on the fuel it's the most frustrating thing there we go fuel nozzles out well I mean Parker just spoke for himself there uh BMW for Nick y just been off the track the number 25 car between turns three and four bit Dusty on the right hand side he he was down in ninth position anyway but he's lost more ground and throwing a bit of dust and dirt everywhere interesting strategy there Jeremy for that Lexus number 12 with that quite significant damage actually on the left front looks like a sharp ATT take a bite uh out of it but with 1 hour 20 to go they can't go to the end they still need a pitch stop why um I just don't understand why they didn't stop in the yellow let's ask Frankie Monty calvo with this crowd strike it report Frankie that was a very long opening s for you was it part of the plan or you guys flying by the seat of your pants at this point uh I think we kind of had a different strategy going into it we uh didn't qualify exactly where we wanted so we just wanted to fall into a to a rhythm there and then save a little bit of fuel along the way to to lengthen my stint so kind of worked out with that yellow we were definitely coming in on fumes after that but uh yeah I think we have a good shot at this one our car's good we're uh pretty much damage free for once which is great and uh we got a got a long way to go but we're in it there's a little bit of damage on the left front uh after you had contact with the Porsche the GTP car you couldn't feel that behind the wheel no no the car is absolutely fine uh just he just grazed us when he was coming to The Brak Zona 6 so it's uh it's a tight spot to pass up there and he just pushed us a little wide and why didn't you guys stop during the yellow just do something different yeah yeah we'll talk to them about it so I'm just thanks thanks well there you go Jer that's pretty honest from Frank imoni calvo I think he was as uh non plus as we were about that call yeah rather strange to be honest I mean um they uh they they need a yellow now to get back into contention if there is one then uh they could be looking fairly good actually but uh that's the only way that can salvage their race at this stage because you know they they still they like everybody else needs to make one more pit stop unless there's a massive amount of caution period yeah the um and thank you to Frankie who actually spoke to Al CRI strike PR rep sh Adam before he was even debriefed that was actually a bit more of a spin than I realized from Nick y I thought he just dropped off but he actually arrived at the exit of turn three backwards um but managed to keep it going the Jack could still lead by 1.6 [Music] seconds so 57 laps now completed by the race leader Jack Atkin and an hour and 18 minutes to go so the second place car ring of Vander Zender is dropping back a little bit now from Jack Ain and remaining under pressure from Nick Tandy in the Porsche as well as behind him Jordan Taylor in the number 40 Acura and Philip anass in number seven Porsche and Jesse cron in the BMW count of 24 that's run so well this weekend and they must have had a a slower pit stop than everybody else that that round of pits up because they lost three or four positions the big Gainer indeed was number 40 car of the cork crew is genu genuinely Mesmerizing the first time I drove down at Charlotte as I was in a Dodge day van um sort of like a a a little people carrier quite big people carrier actually and imagine sitting going down that um driving something effectively on a small set of Step ladders um that was an interesting approach uh to the corks group that was in be 1999 I was there in 1998 as well but never on my first trip to the US but didn't get to uh Drive the track at that point two Porsches now running together six and seven the seven haven't got past Jordan Taylor so Filipe NASA up one position into fourth now ahead of Jordan Taylor and Jesse cron trying to hang on the best he can that pass must have been made in traffic because they now the GTP cars deep into the GTD field once again uh Nick YY by the way after that spin is closing up pretty rapidly on that uh on the tail of the group in GTP but again he's got a lot of work to do to make up for that um for the for the early pit stop that win ay and caus them to to to lose more than a lap and Lauren Hinrich has got by Ole Jarvis at the front of GT Depot the a racing Rexy Porsche has crossed the line 1.4 seconds ahead of the red white faf number nine with Tommy milder for Corvette in third Corvette looked to be bossing that earlier on and it's all shuffled around in the pit stops meantime Robbie fley leads GTD for Turner Motorsport in the 557 from Phil Ellis Windward racing taking over from Russell Ward and mck Grenier in third for the 32 the green Mercedes EMG for KPM and at the front of the field Jack Aken by almost three4 of a second ahead of Ranger Vander and then the two Porsches so two Cadillacs two Porsches and then Jordan Taylor in the number 40 the red and black accurate those top five separated by 3 seconds that's your VP racing in race updates an hour and 14 minutes to go yeah and um did I I uh didn't see how the Porsche got past the um the the GTD Pro Porsche got past the McLaren uh for the lead in the class must have happened as they were being lapped by the GTP leaders I believe yeah um I might be able to sort that out for you in a second Jeremy um we'll find out together the 077 car was right in behind uh OE uh Jarvis going through to turn five Jarvis just uh protecting on the inside goes a little bit deep and Kirk offer gets a much better exit from turn five and he got up alongside and did the inside pass into turn six that was actually a really impressive move so not traffic affected that was just the that was Lauren Hinrich going through uh into the lead on a bit of Race Craft than gu yeah nice move very nice move there by Lauren Hinrich uh to to take it from Oliver Jarvis and now he's stretching stretching away already put a couple of seconds between himself and the McLaren which instead now he's coming under pressure from Tommy Milner in the number four Corvette side by side action a moment or two ago Corvette and BMW and the BMW of Madison nor lost out there it was the number three car of Alexander Sims he was in a battle with Ross gun in the heart of racing team oh and there was contact there at the Apex of turn three that will get the attention I think of race control so things after a pretty steady and tidy start Jeremy with an hour just under an hour and a quarter still to go things are hotting up a little bit Yeah they are aren't they it's getting a bit spicy now and I think will continue to be so for most of the rest of the race in GTD it's number 557 car Robbie Foley who leads by about 3 seconds he's pulled out now over Phil Ellis in the wi Ward uh Mercedes so a really good run once again for win Ward have had a fabulous start to the season with wins in each of the first two races and then a Seventh Place finish last time out on the streets of Long Beach so they got a pretty handy Championship lead coming into this uh four fourth round of the championship so where is the next strategic move coming our BD o Nails strategy award needs a home for this rate and on Wednesday coming 8:00 UK that's 3:00 Eastern noon here on the West Coast we'll have all the data from our crowd strike endurance teamwork and strategy Awards that's all fed into the algorithm takes into account pacing qualifying fastest race laps positions gained and time in the pits and that will spit us out a winner hopefully be talking to a representative of the team on Wednesday evening for our crowd strike inurance teamwork and strategy and speed award excuse me crowd strike and Jance teamwork and speed award on Wednesday position change for P5 in GTD Pro Alexander Sims just been overtaken by Ross gun in number 23 harder racing as Martin so the Corvettes having been dominant through the early parts of of the of the race uh the number four car is now running in fourth position and now pretty much right behind Oliver Jarvis in the faf Motor Sports McLaren but the other car slipped back down the order now down to sixth position in GTD Pro yeah that was the two that were having the battle when they came up on Madison snort and got the little Hitman shoulder onto the number one car which is now dropped back a couple of places and he's having to deal with Harry tinnel in the number 64 Ford multimatic racing team now Lauren H who managed to get to the front of the field in GT Pros just reset the lap record for that class with a 211 as Alexander Sims has come to the pit Lane the number three car with an hour and 10 minutes to G Adam there's a brand new set of Michelin ties for that car yes there are right side tires as they are splashing this car remember it was the last Corvette to come into the pit Lane the four made it in before the caution also into the pit Lane the gradient racing Acura stepen back in for a splash of fuel and four tires so are we seeing people gambling perhaps that we go to Yellow toward the end of this and maybe just maybe they can stretch this load of fuel to get to the end of the race what you reckon Jeremy an hour and 10 minutes for a GT3 car yeah you're going to have to save quite a bit of fuel to make it to the end from here but having lost all that trap position it's perhaps worth a gamble uh for the number 66 car they they're out of in any case they're a lap down to the rest of the field so it's not going to really benefit them I don't believe but the the interesting one there was the number three three car are the first to Blink they can do an hour a bit over an hour on a tanker fuel in full chat running uh but an hour and nine minutes that's going to be pushing it Jimmy bruny is picking up the pace in the proton Porsche the black and gold number five car seventh position just done his fastest lap a couple of laps agoal with a 114 822 he's back that up with a 14847 next time around and now he's within two half seconds of Jessi krun in the sixth place BMW from bmwm Team rll the number 24 car uh top six well top six rated by eight uh nearly 9 seconds top seven by still only top eight in fact by 12 seconds a dozen seconds then between eight out the 10 of the GTP field after we got closed up of course under that safety car but the pace is really interesting this suggests to me fuel saving at the front of the field Jeremy because nobody's making a break for it although Jack Akin just done that car's fastest lap of the race and he stretches out to oh 1.11 seconds of lead in the zero one yeah that's right I mean certainly pit stops coming up fairly quick fairly soon now for the GTP cars I would expect them to be in um yeah I mean if they come in with um in in the next lap or two it's a bit of a gamble they're going to be need to save fuel uh more safer would be waiting for another seven or eight minutes uh at least and I'm pretty sure that's what the zero1 car will do I think that will probably try and stay out a little bit longer because the car has had the pace and we'll see whether it still has in the hand in the hands of rang of Vander Zender I would wouldn't expect him to be much uh off the pace of Sebastian bour because he's very very accomplished indeed and loves this race track uh and I think that's about their only hope is to go a bit longer turn some really really quick laps and then make that final stop and hope that there isn't a full course caution in that interim uh we've got into the pit Lane a Ford which will be Harry Tel we've got Paul B racing and the Ford she has missed its pit stall it did and they noticed in Tommy the pit official signal to them push back before you do any work the 64 crew did so they will not be receiving a subsequent penalty for working outside of their box you and four tires for Harry tinnel and this is a Ed stop because Larry Holt is on the wall with the stopwatch monitoring every single thing they do I did check with Corvette racing by the way as the Ford rumbles back into life and gets going it was planned service for that number three Corvette when they came in into the right sides only they're rolling the dice because their strategy got thrown out the window when they did not make it in before the yellow making it in now though is Rexy and Lauren Hinrich is staying aboard that car fuel and new tires for what was the leader in GTV Pro and let's see if it will be a time stop or they are going to do right side tires and yes they have left sides up on the wall as well but where am I looking Don Sal Lama he's the guy that everybody needs to look to he's the guy that everybody has looked to and right now the trer Motorsports crew is up on the wall but sitting on their tires so they're not quite fitting just yet the 65 Ford Mustang is also in for their final stop this will be Fuel and four sticker Michelin Tires no driver change for Joey hand well this is the strategy beginning to play Out Shay and Jeremy because that is a very long way to go 65 minutes yeah that should they should be just about okay there I mean they're they're in better shap number three car as I surmised a little while ago that was a kind of a hell Mar for number three car they do they're going to need a caution period And even better for them would have been a that caution period to come before about round about now but it hasn't so uh you know they've got to play the hands they dealt with from this stage onward at the front of the field the two Cadillacs are together again and harving into sight Nick tandi has pulled them back in Jeremy after being dropped just a little bit he's carving his way through traffic goes past the number 78 at Lamborghini the Forte car here's turn of Motorsport and this is Don salana who is the one of the Tactical Wizards there as much talent on the wall as there is behind the wheel in IM we've said that for a long time and that was a four tire stop sh Adam four sticker tires for Robbie Foley just waiting on field for the 557 now he's 10 out let's see where he filters back out it does mean Jeremy with the GTD pros and the gtds is with all these pit stops we are going to have a proper proper battle for the better part of an hour and that that makes me quite happy to be honest yeah I agree and it's going to be fascinating to see H oh yeah number that's number 24 car goodness gracious me it's all going wrong for BMW isn't it I number 25 car of that car big there's damage at the back of that uh 24 car um it's been off the track left re damage it's picked up some sponsor Loos and boards on the front of the car but there's damage on the back left so that's been a bigger off than just picking up the the sponsor hoarding it's coming out of turn number three again and I think that cars hit the concrete wall on driver's left by the walk over Bridge there's definely a big chunk I don't say that from the the look on the inside that we get here in the Ford performance Global broadcast Booth but it's brought a flurry of more pit stops and in comes the faf number nine OE Jarvis sh Adam is with you in the red white McLaren Oly Jarvis is staying here for the remainder of the race because they did another driver change Marvin kofer took back over Fuel and four new Michin tires four new tires for Phil Ellis as well as Windward racing leaves its pit box we're waiting on KPM to finish the service with their 32 Mercedes it's Fuel and four tires for MC graner Fuel and four tires for Laura spelli and the Forte Lamborghini and who was the other one oh yes Fuel and four tires for Ross gun in the 23 heart of racing that's the pro entry man this is going to be difficult to decipher when we go through the the numbers on this after the race because this is not your standard 2hour and 40 minute race Jeremy there's all kinds of Str being playing played out here as in comes again from the lead on the pit stop SLE this is the Corvette of Tommy milder making what that car should be it's pass off she will keep an eye on that what you Reon this Jeremy we haven't seen a race like this for quite some time we haven't I'm surprised that these other contenders aren't coming to the pits so okay the number 14 car stayed out that's ja or with f suan running some Curious strategies in this race because with all the other contenders having already pitted if the full cause caution comes out now they're going to go right to the back I don't I don't get it I mean they um they they've made their point and they they're in a great position now but they need to get that car into the pit Lane because everybody else is already making uh taking their service I think everybody I think that's the only car in GTD that has not come in for a second time apart from number 70 car which is a lap down to everybody else yeah that's the Inception Frederick shandor uh McLaren down in eighth position in GTD 24th overall Sher was watching that stop that looked like four tires but again Shay just enough fuel to top it back up to the top they had to work quickly there to get the tires done before the fuel was finished they did and it was a very clean stop for the four Corvette this time around Tommy Milner stayed aboard we also had the 34 Conquest racing Ferrari and field and four tires and Elliot skar very very happy three racing at what their Tech race P going to S it gave me a little waves he went back down the pit Lane Fuel and four tires for him is in comes Lexus they listen to you Jeremy they heard you getting irritated and there goes Jack Hawksworth which means that he should be handing over to Ben Barnet and indeed I do see a yellow helmet well actually I see about six yellow helmets up on the wall most of them being crew guys but one of them representing Ben who has already implanted himself into the car waiting on the four tire change for this 14 Lexus and a lot of fuel uh the 85 is in the jdc Miller Motorsport Porsche again overshooting the pit box needing to be pushed back into their box before they could begin their work that's something that we've been very cognizant of all weekend in the IM officials have been all over it waiting on the fueling to stop for the 14 Lexus there goes Ben barut starting his first laps of the race and up on the wall I'm seeing action from the 45 that is the Dex Imaging wtr and Drey Lamborghini looks like they're going to be coming in to give Kyle marceli moriel and four scuffed Michelin busy time down in the pit line for our crowd strike pit reporter Sher Adam under an hour to go now and here comes the leader of the race spot on 59 minutes Jack aen comes to the Lan now we have seen them put people toan in for the run to the flag Shay Adam are they going to do that this time no no they're not uh p danani is still sitting on the box not with the helmet on they are doing right side tires now remember they did this earlier on in the race not changing the lefts car drops off the air jacks right sides again so wh and Engineering being a bit creative in a more NASCAR style of how they are changing tires for this race waiting on fuel so once again they had the time to change all four but elected not so clearly they think having the hot left sides is more of an advantage than having new left sides right well now Jeremy that should set everybody off shouldn't it because we've seen what's happening in the surely the zero1 car aren going to get caught again no but they they need they need a couple of quick laps here as Jack Akin locks up at the marand ready Happ on the pit lane exit uh need a couple of quick laps here from Rego Vander taking advantage of the the lighter car with lot less fuel on board that car now of course uh and they need a couple of really really fast laps and then we'll see what shapes out after that now you can follow along with how much energy is still available in this bruny firing back up the 963 the proton competition took cor SC M for the number five so we are going to get a dash to the flag let's hope we are at least as the new leader has just taken over the lead last time around so Nick tandi will go to the lead now here comes Ranger Vander for what should be the gold front at Z One Cadillac first up no tires for Ranger we've got Philipe Nasser in the number seven also in no tires were believed they were going to do fuel for the number seven until they saw that the 01 was not doing fuel so very interesting strategy play ah now we are getting tires we're getting rear tires for the number seven very uncoordinated very un Pensky like stop but that's all right they have time to play with a new tear off coming on to that windshield as well as four tires for the number 10 conic minac here this is the team that did the pit stop demo a little bit earlier on they are good and fired up and ready to go as into the lane comes the number 24 this was the car that qualified third yese Crone getting a new tail section on that BMW they did Fuel and four tires fuel four tires and a driver change somewhat unexpected Danny foral getting back aboard the number 45 Lamborghini for wtr andred and also into the pit Lane for for ooh sticker tires for Roman d'angeles the number 27 part of racing ason Martin uh just to go back on what here said that all of the cars took fuel including the 01 but the 01 did not take tires uh in that excitement and thanks to a number of people uh uh the Porsche took re 31 only took right hand side uh thanks to F by infrared and a couple of others that BMW uh that we said and to Alan prer that we said went off the track that had already had damage uh and that was done by hitting the marker board sideways uh he said uh the sbag started him radio.com right Jeremy are you ready for this I think now we can settle back we need to have Nick Tandy into the pit lane and then everybody's done it he's being held up just a little bit at the moment as he comes around behind going to the top of the hill and he's oh he side by side and gets hit by Jimmy bruny but man just to get through on the black and gold car I think T's headed for the pit and he wants a good in laap that's why he was hustling through to try and pass the Mustang sampling car handed down the B of the Hill the bottom of the hill now no he's staying out so tandi then leads by 15 and 1 half second but owes us a pit stop back to Nick yel for BMW number 25 Jack Aken is 44 and a half seconds back on on the leader so that's what Nick Tandy has got to think about at the moment because y will be coming into the pit and he does so for what is his third stop Nick Tandy yet to make his second this is pora pensy Motorsport really rolling the dice here Jeremy yeah uh not quite sure to what uh why to be honest because uh you he he wasn't going particularly quickly the last couple laps was 16 168 and 166 so he's not making any ground on anybody else um and um yeah he'd already fallen uh nearly 5 seconds behind a pair of cleats before the round the pit stops so uh yeah not quite sure what they got to gain by that by that one more side by side action at the exit of the andr Hain with the 64 Ford Mustang with the white shade band and that is the Lexus that he's having a battle with that's the number 12 car so two different Class Cars seem to come into close contact there Parker Thompson and Harry tinnel in 26th and 27th position the number 120 Porsche of Elliot skia right Motorsport the third position has climbed nine places in GT it's the biggest it's been a tremendous G for those car that's made a very quiet but stealthy brilliant run by that team Jeremy yeah I mean after the restart they took the the uh they they were in what 16th Place of all of the GT cars um and now um have made up a lot of ground I mean they they would six t Bas they made up seven or eight positions uh in uh in GTD so brilliant run there by Elliot skia taking over from Adam ad who did his usual good job in the first stint and that's what he's got to do he's got to stay there on stay on the lead lap and he he more than achieved that and since then Elliot skia combination of speed guile and little bit of strategy they are genuine contenders at this point Jeremy yeah true that uh they really are and uh good LP better lap there from Nick Tandy by the way one minute 15.3 which pulled out P himself a couple of seconds ahead of Jack Atkin who is about uh more than 5 Seconds ahead of Ring of Vander so that strategy didn't work out for the Cadillac racing team and having dominated the early stages uh the number Z1 car is going to have um a tall order to catch that number 31 car so I think starting second might have worked out in their favor but uh some Curious strategies going on today as well and there's various people that won't be winning our strategy award I can tell you that ha the BDO nose strategy award will be announcing that before the end of the race and at the end of the race in 50 minutes or a little bit beyond that actually uh it is our Michelin post Race Tech show where will wrap up the weekend it is the original listener he's just completed lap number 80 he's been out there for a very long time and he's sitting at the moment with a lead I think I said on Jack akum was about 45 seconds it's hardly changed at all that late so there's no gain no lost although in fact as I say that tanies did a 148 and AK did a 152 last time around 146 actually to a 152 so tandi towards the end of his VP fuel Lord is actually speeding up a little bit yeah he is and considerably so and that uh that is exactly what he needs to do of course two quick laps there in succession and um it takes about 25 seconds to roll down the pit Lane here he's got 47 seconds in hand over Jack Atkin and uh 54 over rang of vender so he could this could now be working into his favor uh two or three laps there weren't particularly what he needed but the last two or three have been and if he can keep that up he's got a good opportunity here to to perhaps Le frog himself up into at least second position Porsche are the most successful manufacturer in GT class here can they write some history for GTP sh Adam has the breakdown she loves the numbers what you go CH sorry it took me a second to Fumble for the mic switch there uh in 20 start since the GT3 spec of cars in the GTB class they have won four times they have been on the podium eight times they have finished in the top five 10 times so 50% of the time perhaps the most exciting Stat one dnf out of all those starts so it is a phenomenal average only beaten by Ferrari with a best average finish of Fifth and BMW current leaders with the best average finish of 6.1 47 minutes to go now countdown is properly on Lauren hinich leading for AO racing and for the Rexy team having taken the car back from Sebastian prio 8 seconds to Marvin kofer who also took the car back over from his teammate Porsche McLaren Corvette Corvette Tommy Miller and Alexander Sims playing catch up at the moment and the gaps between those cars and just seconds and here it is Jeremy the last Pit Stop of the gtps it was 49 seconds at the last timing point the gap between Nick tandi and Jack aen Shay Adam will watch this one how much fuel when how are they going to get out and are they going to use some tires I don't see tires hereit no tires just waiting on fuel we're at about 12 seconds worth now so just waiting for that magical moment where the refueler is told that is enough he's also got a screen that he can watch and see the refueling time going on uh Nick T's just re-engaged the brakes so must know that with this very steep uh incline he would be rolling backwards if he didn't have that going on now I'm going to look back toward the corner behind I won't be able to hear the force fire up unless I keep an eye but where's Aken there's Aken he's on the front straight there goes Tandy it's going to be Aken beating him out on the RAC trck but of course it's a tighter line through the pit exit need to watch the following cars as well because there's a decent gap between Jack aen and Ranger Vander about 10 seconds and I think Tandy is going to drop in a second Jeremy sure yes he is because the 01 of Ring of Anders is only just coming out of the Andrey hapit now so Porsche Pensky Motorsport have played an absolute Blinder there and Nick Tandy did his part as well particularly in those last three or four laps when he stretched the lead by about four or five seconds yeah very much so and uh he it was a lot more than 12 seconds though um to that uh the fuel nozzle was in so um yeah if it was supposed to be 12 seconds that that could have been really really good for the pens team but you they're not going to win the race from from there I don't think but no no tires you going back to to tires or no tires back to Long Beach you remember the uh the winning car didn't change tires I think yeah the number 01 didn't change SI where number 31 car did but it wasn't that necessarily that that them the race it was the fact they went one lap longer than the number 31 car and that extra lap on on hot tires particularly at Long Beach is absolutely critical that was what the difference was between the two cars not the fact that they didn't change the rubber but that the fact that Pap D got block going into the pit Lane by a GT car as well let's not forget which cost him uh a few seconds um the good news is I can tell you the difference between Jack Aken and Nick tandi they're both on 75% at the moment in terms of their stint energy so it would appear that porensky Motorsport got it pretty much spot on Ranger vand is on 80% Philip NASA for portion number seven in fourth place is on 80% as well Nick yel is the best off but he's down in 7th with 85% and he is almost half a minute behind the leaders and I don't think that's going to help him um I'd be very surprised if anybody had to save too much fuel going to the end of the race now you would expect ni to have been told to go flat out to the end of the race Jack K could stopped a wee bit earlier of course but there should be I I would I would have thought Jeremy when everybody stopped there should be no uh no energy worries for those cars no number 31 car I think would need to save a little bit of fuel I reckon they could do about 50 uh 6 minutes flat out uh and they came in with about 58 to go so they got to save a little bit of fuel but I I don't think it should be too much of a problem for Jack akin to get to the end from here even if there isn't another full course caution which we hope there will not be of course let's take a VP racing in race update aen leads by 3 seconds back to Nick tandi they are fueled to the end of the race no more scheduled pit stops for that 31 wheel and can L the red and black car and the number six Porsche Pensky Motorsport machine one with the white pin stripes and tandi is gaining ever so slightly corner to corner on that car ahead of him in third eight and a half seconds or so further back is Ranger van desander for the gold fronted Cadillac the 01 car that had a huge lead at the start of the race but then had to relinquish that they got the wrong side of the safety car coming out and they lost all of the advantage that had been built up by Sebastian bour in fourth it's the number seven Porsche with the black pin strike swoosh on the side they're another 2 and 1/2 seconds back or if you prefer 14 and 1 half seconds away from the lead and that's got Filipe nazza behind the wheel Jordan Taylor is the first of the accurus for Wayne Taylor racing with Andrey the number 40 car the red and black machine she's carving it way through traffic on the front straight at the moment and that car is a another 1 second behind the porser in fourth then there's a bit of a gap back to Richard Westbrook the best of the private porous once again for jdc Miller Motorsports the 85 car in sixth position is 25 seconds off the lead and half a second ahead of Nick yeley in the number 25 BMW team rll hybrid V8 they've got four and a half seconds on Philip aluer the number 10 car is in eighth position ninth is Jimmy bruny in the black PR on competition Porsche he's another 3 and 1/ half seconds further back that makes him 34 seconds away from the leader and yes cron is the last of the gtps all still running in the second of the BMW he the number 24 car 44 seconds off the lead and 10 seconds away from the car ahead quick look at the classes Lauren heinr for E racing is in 11th position and leading for the 77 green Porche by nearly 8 seconds now from the faf McLaren number nine the red and white car that's just on the front straight at the moment being passed by Nick tandi and Tommy Milner and his teammate Alexander Sims are third and fourth for the two Corvettes but there's 11 make that nearly 12 seconds now between them Robbie Foley and Turner Motorsport could be celebrating their record-breaking 557 start as a BMW pro team in style their lead GTD uh and they've got just about a second and a half over Winward racing Phil Ellis who's in second in the dark blue 57 car also they've got Ross good and the Heart of racing Aston Martin Pro car between them in third in GTD Elliot SK for right Motorsports uh in that Porsche that's how it stands for this VP racing uh update and we have got 39 minutes to go the Gap at the front of the field has come down to under one second it's 810 of a second second out Nick tandi making the the uh Porsche Pensky Motorsport V8 sing there and more problems for Jack Akin got a little bit bottled up behind the McLaren from inception as they came out of the final corner and now it's down to half a second Jeremy game on game on absolutely right um I mean the Gap after around the pit stops was 3 and 1 half seconds from first to second it's now as you say about a half a second so Jack Akin was being pretty conservative there through the traffic I think he definitely has to save some fuel hopefully for his sake he's done that by now and he can keep the pace going uh up where it needs to be to the end of the race last lap around for the race one minute 15.8 the previous lap was a 174 as he had more traffic to to negotiate and a 16 and a 17 the two laps before that so uh it's not been a great few laps for him but still you plenty of time left and he can get into his rhythm now and if he's been given the the all clear from I wat the technical director at action Express racing Weeden engineering Cadillac then he can go flat out now and fend off that attack from the Porsche just had a drive through this is uh minimum fuel time violation for Gabby charz and the number 43 and dry Motorsports Porsche they've had a character building race and that car uh it has uh that car is uh just coming to the end and also coming out the MDK Motorsports Porsche as well I think that was just a standard pit stop oh is that car coming back out just Anders F back go in no uh he's just driven through as well so Jack Aken now with Nick tandi in the H wheel tracks he's put a little bit of a gap into the man from the center of England Bedford CH as the traffic has played its part but as you said earlier on Jeremy traffic giveth traffic taketh away various battles developing in perhaps in GTD right now Lauren hinrich's got a very commanding lead in the AO racing Porsche Rexy in count number 77 over Marvin kirhoffer in the McLaren uh but he has now been closed in right behind kirkov now is Tommy Milner in number four Corvette that dominated the early stages of the race Alexander Sims a long long way back in fourth position B Bar could just a couple of seconds behind him in GTD Robbie Foley uh has a buffer of one car in between himself and Philip Ellis but uh not much more than that uh that's between the TN what BMW 557 23 car is ggd pro then the number 57 win Ward Mercedes who's been tracked who has been Tracked Down by the simil by the U by the Porsche of Elliot ski you talked about him a little while ago running really really well in that right Motorsports car number 20 that green and yellow car and not too far behind him either is another little battle that has developed between Mel Grenier in the Mercedes of cof Preston Motorsports car number 32 and the 4te racing uh green or purple depending which side of the road you're watching from Lamborghini that's car number 78 back down to 1.6 seconds it went back to two seconds a moment AG go at the front of the field and the leaders are catching the lead car in GTD Pro this is 11th position and they are back together out of the final corner it was 2.1 it came down to 1.8 and now as they cross the line to start another lap it is a car and a half's length that's all the time is insignificant Jack Aken and Nick tandi battling it out out at the front of the field well actually John that was the that was the other pair for third and fourth the Cadillac and the Porsche number 01 and the Seven car that are together uh Jack Akin has pulled out a couple of seconds I think over Nick tamy but that battle for third and fourth is very much on [Music] again and the the best of the acurus cup which is now which is again number 40 Jordan Taylor uh he's he's he's only a couple of seconds behind uh that battle for third third and fourth between the 01 and number seven car too so Jordan Taylor looking to have a good run here Richard Westbrook again a great run by the jdc Miller Motorsports teams they ahead of both Nick yelly admittedly had problems and the number 10 car the second of the way Taylor racing Acuras in eighth position those three cars battling away 85 25 and 10 oh okay fine so aluer then has got past Jimmy bruny over the last couple of laps number 10 ahead of number five off track Excursion at turn 10 for the third place Corvette in GTD Pro Tommy Milner and again that b traffic related it has been busy out there and fair play to all the drivers there's been very little Argy and bargie down the inside there the uh number 10 Philip aluer has just taken Nick Y and improv position into into the ADR hairin so that was a change for position and also further up the field a change for position as well Jeremy yeah for third position Philip NASA has got past ring of anderzander so all of a sudden the POR shensky Motorsport team have come alive haven't they over the over the course of the last 20 minutes or so with Nick tandi briefly at least pressuring the wheel and Cadillac of Jack Atkin although now that that Gap has extended well it had extended now all of a sudden come right back down again but Philip NASA now up into third position ahead then of the Ring of Vander not far beond Vander is Jordan Taylor too backed out to T of a second at the front of the field yeah all of a [Music] sudden slow lap last time around for [Music] JA 149 for Nick tandi 1165 for Jack aen that's the traffic giving and taking it's that e and flow uh top two now then just on a second in the classes 12 call it 13 seconds between the red and white faf Motorsport 720 to the leader [Music] so all of a sudden the two Acuras are making some progress in the latter stages as well with Jordan Taylor in that c of 40 closing right in now on rang ofer Xander uh looking for fourth position and the the sister car Philip aluer he's on the charge as well because he's just got past uh Nick yell in car 25 having already overtaken Jimmy bruny's Privateer Porsche just a couple or three laps before GTD Pro meanwhile Lauren Heinrich a comfortable lead now it's over 13 seconds over Marvin Kirk offer in the faf Motorsports McLaren and then the two Corvettes which are spaced out by quite a long way in third and fourth positions Ben Barnet un unable to make any impression on the two Corvettes so having to settle for fifth place it would seem at the moment meanwhile up at the front heading into the final Corner as a both the two leaders barge past number 32 of uh ml Grenier game very much uh game on for in this battle for the lead with 95 laps now completed half a second now Target acquired from tandi the right Motorsport Porsche of the green and yellow machine is right in harms with they've gone by turn five then climbing the hill and jack aen for the first time feels the need to go defensively into that right hand corner he's weaving about on the straight he's blocked once he's blocked twice as they go through turn number six now this is us racing and he made more than one move there down the inside at the cork screw T's letting him know he's there trying to force him into another move they're carving their way through traffic here down the hill now they'll I'm sure the team will be on to them they've got the uh heart of racing AA between them for a moment Here Comes Tandy late on the breaks down into 11 and halfes the distance between himself and the Cadillac 29 minutes to go cross the line complete another lap and heading into more traffic is this an opportunity for Jack aen to put a gap between himself and the Porsche or is it the chance for Nick Tanny to go down the inside it's the ladder as they go to turn three the LLY Turner car just held up the leader for a moment absolutely nothing that Robbie Foley could do he was right on the racing line he did exactly the right thing and for a moment Nick tandi had the front wheel of his number six Porsche Pensky Motorsport red and white car alongside the leader he backed out of it and now again they're about half a second between them Steven B is the next car that sees the lead battle go by as they head up the hill towards the corks scw 28 minutes to go down through rainy and into turn number 10 and for a moment a bit of clear roads it's about half a second there's a question of tires here as well Jeremy because remember that number six Porsche did not take any tires at its last stop sh will remind me if the 31 did the 31 do re only or is it one side only sh right side's only for the 31 thank you so a slight Tire Advantage for Jack aen man that was tight last time around at the end have been the Robbie Foley driven liquid Molly BMW I mean he can't just beam up there's nothing he can do Tandy tried to go up the inside and then wisely backed out of it good racing from everybody there Jeremy to be fair yeah it really was heads up driving of course by Robbie Foley uh he's last year's Mission pilot challenge champion of course and uh had a lot of success in this series as well he's now the team leader at turn mport with Jeremy this could be this could be interesting Roman to Angeles has looped the heart of racing Aston now can he get that out the gravel yes he can yes he can that was coming out of the Andrey hapin that's not been a stellar race for them today to be honest they've not been a contender sitting in seventh at the moment so what happened there oh did he get a wee bit of a side swipe yes he did from Jimmy bruny in the number five on competition Porche Jeremy yeah and uh Richard Westbrook in in the uh the banana boat number 85 car for JTC Miller MP he lost a couple of positions about three laps ago he was overtaken by by both Philip alook and Nick yel and coming under pressure there as we saw from Jimmy bruny who tried to make a lunge down the inside to keep up with Westbook and not lose any ground unfortunately bruny made contact with that uh GTD car and pushed it off as you say it's not been a great day for that hard racing running in seventh position in GTD and sixth in GTD Pro so not what they used to wow hell of a LP net last time around from Jack anen 1149 remember he only took two tires last time around the only people anywhere uh near his time actually nobody's near that time 154 from Nick tandi the 25 BMW Nick yelly he took four tires he did a 154 158 for Philip Albert Kirk they took four tires at the last stop but it's still only half a second at the front of the field as a01 now coming down the hill and he's got Jordan Taylor ping interview there as well as he goes past the 120 Elliot scar driven right Motorsport Porsche who's just been off the track and consigned another couple of WeatherTech advertising boards uh to the dust bin after the race still 25 minutes of this to go Jeremy we have not we have not seen the headlines written here good yeah I mean you there's there's certainly uh there's no more strategy to be played out at this stage because everybody has made their their final pit stops final schedule pit stops at least and um but as you say there're still 25 minutes to go and uh Jack Atkin one would one would hope by now has saved the fuel that he needed to save because say he came in with what 50 uh eight minutes or so remaining in this race uh so he needed to save uh at least a couple of laps worth of fuel you can save four or five fairly relatively comfortably uh well when I say fuel I mean energy in actual fact because it's the uh it's the sensors on the rear wheels that that uh that account for all the energy that is been used by the by the car and that is what is monitored by the technical team at IMA but it's still a fascinating race at the front two different strategies they playing out between number 31 car and the number six and uh you know we still plenty of time to go in this race for all sorts of things potentially to happen aandi nazza or aani on 40% Felipe nazza on 50% up into third position as Jeremy said ahead of rang of Vander who is on 45% the two leaders still only a second apart this is a cracking battle that's going on at the front of the field and they are coming down to the final corner at the moment they've got a huge amount of traffic right in front of them again including the 27 hter racing Aston Martin the number 77 Lauren Hinrich St an air or racing machine that is leading its class also in that gagle of cars that's the 64 Ford of Harry tinnel leaders through turn three and into turn four Tandy still holding on to the back fastest lap of the Cadillac race last time around and Jack Aken all of a sudden finds himself one and a half seconds he's used to traffic nicely there Jeremy but that was a 1145 he took uh pretty much a full second out of tandi last time around 810 in fact yeah so that uh suggest to me that he's done what he needed to do in terms of saving that fuel and he can go flat out from here 101 laps completed by the way now by our race leaders as we see what happens here with Elliot skier and the uh number 25 BMW trying to go around the outside of him at turn 10 that didn't work out nothing's worked out for the 25 car in this race it seems and yly they're losing some more ground uh where I was going that though was last year uh this race was there were 102 laps completed by the race winners uh so we're already we've just done that now 102 laps completed we still got 20 minutes to go Jimmy bruny has been given instant responsibility for that hit that we saw a few moments ago with Roman to Angeles and that will cost him a drive through they're in ninth position at the moment for that protan competition Porsche 963 yeah and finally that pair being caught Now by number 24 BMW has been running pretty pretty uh nondescript since uh since it its last Pit Stop which was uh which lost a fair B of ground but he's now about a second lap quicker than the two Privateer Porsches ahead of him but certainly disappointing day for BMW that started out so strongly this weekend particularly following very very good Pace at Long Beach just a few weeks ago now what has tandi got left can he close back down matches the leader to the 10th last time around 1.1 seconds at the line at the end of lap 10 or2 at lap 103 as they go across 1.1 seconds and off again at the exit of turn six that is such a high commitment Corner always has been it's even more now excuse me that was turn five for the Lexus number 12 and they've had a funny old day today as well with Parker Thompson down in 10th position for Vasa Sullivan it's not been their day as well absolutely indicative Jeremy of the competitive nature of the GTD field between all of the manufacturers that you could be the winscreen one race and absolutely be the bug the next yeah very true and uh but odd decision by the vast Sol team not to come in in either before the the earli caution period or at least during it and that's just been really really costly and you there's no way they can come back from that very disappointing for that team and the other car that looked pretty good in practice but uh it's no match certainly for the for the Chevys and in roast trip either the McLaren or the Porsche which is leading for a racing Lauren hrich doing a really really nice job he's uh lost some of his lead it was over 13 seconds between Heinrich and K kirhoffer the two Germans there running in first and second number 77 car and then the number nine McLaren that Gap knows down to less than 9 seconds uh over the last 10 laps or so so the McLaren getting a little bit closer but still I don't think is really under threat battle at the front of the field in GT Robbie Foley in that record breaking 557th Pro start for Turner Motorsport making them the team who has done more races with BMW than any other in the history of the brand and Philip Ellis in of all things an AMG Mercedes no love loss between the two brands from Germany and well there was there is a fairy tale on offer here isn't there for the 557th race to be a race victory for Turner Motorsport and that total will keep on going Don Sal and will turn a saying in michelan countdown to Green how many will we get to a th000 maybe they started count in 1998 the first year I came to America to work in sports cars I have not known American sports car racing and the championships that I've called down through the years without Turner Motorsport Jimmy bruny by the way has come in to do his drive-thru and we've now got a review of an incident between Steven Mia and what car was that that sidw Steven the number 12 apparently so that is under review at the moment B was par Thompson so those two came together in 10th and 11th in GTD let's see what happens there but for the moment the L Molly BMW leads the teet AMG it's only about 5 Seconds further Back In fairness to ell skiing that number 120 right mot Sports Porsche so they can't afford to mess about these two with 16 and 1 half minutes to go no that's right Johnny I mean the good news for for for the two leaders there Robbie Foley and Philip Ellis is the fact they do have the the pro car of Ross gun in between themselves and Elliot skier in third position but certainly a brilliant run for Elliot it's that's so cool to see I mean he's a guy who's hustled really really hard to make opportunities for himself he won the pors the gg3 Cup Championship one is now effectively the Porsche careera cup North America won that back in 200 uh uh and uh and 6 excuse me 2015 so it's been a long long time and he's been you know had odd rides here and there but since hooking up with Adam Adon a couple of years ago uh he's his career is right back where it needs to be and ellot SK taking full advantage but this this battle for the lead is really intense now between Robbie Foley and uh the second place car Philip Ellis bit further back with another Mercedes which is ml Grenier in fourth position and Danny foral the pole sitter in the Wayne Taylor racing Lamborghini battle fourth and fifth Steven M into the pit Lane that incident between he and T Parker Thompson he's been given the uh inent responsibility so Mia and the gradiant 66 Accura with their drive through Al Porche keys to the race try to stay away from penalties get your strategy right for the first 2hour 40 race of the season I I tell you what everybody's just have they just been picking ideas out of a hat because we've seen so much difference but it's kind of worked and we're the Stagger is unwinding now patients in traffic well sort of but not everybody the tires well everyone's had different ideas of tires as well we've had four tire stops two Tire stops on the working side which is the right side re only and none at all as far as Nick Tandy is concerned and he's still making that work on the Porsche is quite light on its tires now that car takes a we while for them to get warmed up but they're uh getting good longevity out of them and still just a second between the leaders and in fact they're coming through the battle for GTD now as they go through rainy and down to turn 10 is this the opportunity for Nick Tandy as he hes back onto the rear wing of the wh and Cadillac they'll go either side of the liid B BW Nick that was just a little bit I think that was a little bit optimistic there was a thought from tandi there that he might get both of them and block past them into turn 11 but even Nick tandi couldn't make that one work this is a great battle between the two British drivers Jeremy yeah it is isn't it and good respect I think between the two of them and the GTD leaders as well uh so those two battles unfold all at the same time same corner at the same time uh so fascinated there meanwhile just a little bit back in the pack in GTP number 25 BMW yellowy uh he's just got into his stride because he's made up a couple of positions over the last few laps he's just got past Philip aler so that number 25 BMW salvaging something from the day running in sixth position now he's about 7 seconds behind the other Wayne Taylor Acura of Jordan Taylor so we'll see he can if he can Whittle that gap down somewhat yeah he did get four tires at the last stop Jeremy so um he he did have a little bit of grit advantage that he might be uh working on at the moment yeah and talking of tires I think that decision not to change tires it's number uh number Z1 car decided to go with no tires didn't I think that's not working out at all in their favor because Ranger Vander now clearly is struggling to hold off Jordan Taylor and we'll see whether the Nick YY BMW can catch up to that pair Conquest race ing Ferrari with problems that's been in the pits for 20 odd laps now uh some they went back to the garage quite some time ago remember they'd been off the work and there a mistake from the leader as they were coming through traffic turn three and four claims another victim and Nick and Jack aen has lost the lead just a fumble in traffic as they came to turn four they were line of stern and he picked the wrong side simple as that with two cars ahead of him the gtds blocking the road and he had to make a decision he went to follow the Corvette and that was the wrong decision the MDK Motorsports on the right hand side the Porsche was the right decision and that was Nick Tandy goes through on the extreme right and Pensky with that number six car Porsche Pensky Motorsport lead at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Sega as Nick tandi with a split second decision Jeremy my goodness how many times a lap has Jack a had been making those decisions since he got it the car and how many times has he got it right that one I mean it was literally flip a coin to which way you go but he's doing 120 30 miles an hour at that point and he's given up the lead yeah there goes the pass yeah for fourth position and Jordan Taylor getting past ring of Ander Xander he's going to try and fight back as wow that's got some grunt coming off the corners isn't it and he'll Edge ahead as they go across the line and he has the inside line into turn two but no grip I mean there goes the the the better tires of the of the Acura told there as Ranger vaner had to get on the brakes and clearly no problem whatsoever for for Jordan Taylor to make that pass on the outside and now look right in Evander Zander's mirrors is the BMW of Nick yellow Le just one other quick note by the way John the lap before that incident for Jack Akin he just set at a 1 minute 14.7 which is only a tenth of a second or so away from that car's fastest lap of the race so he was pushing really really hard and just to tell you how traffic can affect things that was a 122 for Jack aen on the lap in which he on which he lost the lead and Tandy has got five and a half seconds all of a sudden now with just 10 minutes or so to go that is going to take a lot of pulling back the word from the number six picked I think to tandi now will be uh easy easy everybody's roughly the same on energy tany didn't take tires at the last pit stop that didn't really affect the time of the pit stop it was fuel only and that's that was the time I suppose they thought that they whole field who has worked what they have got better than anyone another little touch at the top of the cork screw that was the number 40 of Jordan Taylor before he got past Kanga fond desander he just took a chunk out of the left rear of the gold fronted kadillac the move itself was pretty decisive down into the andreti ha in but earlier on uh there was just a little love tap so it could be that Vander struggling with aoll balance and now he's been caught by Nick YY as Jeremy suggested and yelly is dragging Philip aluer those were the two cars that both took four tires so there there is a grip Advantage with those two cars and the leader has now caught yesi krun to put him lap down only Jimmy bruny in the proton car of the 10 GTP is not on the lead lap Tommy milder by the way has caught Marvin Kirk offer in traffic as the leaders are going through jack Akens just passed them both and Kirk offer has got a bright yellow Corvette this is for second and third in GTP uh GTD Pro sorry and the other big battle that we've been keeping an eye on is Ry for Turner and the LI Molly car and the Winward number 57 that's first and second in GD still plenty to play for in some of these big positions Jeremy yeah absolutely right there are uh the uh the gap between first and second had been coming well since the pass a couple of tents in each of the last three laps for Jack Akin but that was negated last time around Nick Tandy as you suggest John with less than seven minutes remaining is certainly in control of his Destiny here but to the battle for what is now fifth place ring Vander struggling like mad to hold on to that his tires clearly shot and he's struggling to hold he's been overtaken obviously by Jordan Taylor he's got Nick yellow and Philip aluer and the other accur right with him now as well sh Adam in the pits get to you in just a second just want to review the Tandy pass for the lead my goodness these guys their brains are clocked at a different speed Nick tandi was able to tighten the car through turn number four in that traffic whereas Jack a can try to open out and go the long way around and ultimately that might be the difference between first and second sh Adam has been our crowd strike pit Lin reporter for the the feature race today and she has a nominee for our BDO nose strategy award what you got Che it's amazing what happens when people get the right incentive isn't it in this case the incentive happened to be a hairstyle right Motorsport coming into today's race starting outside the top 10 knew that to get to the podium was going to be a big ask but if they didn't it would mean that Bobby B would have to have a mullet for the remainder of the week and the remainder of the week by the way is another race week for them in a different Series so that was the incentive that was laid out they're currently P3 looks like Bobby's going to have a mullet they're my nomination yeah very good very good indeed n as a oh problem for the leader in GT under steering off the circuit that is Robbie Foley at turn again turn three into four and it looked as though Jordan Taylor put him off the track there now that is huge they had been running so well and it's all great going into oh yeah absolutely well now how are the stewards going to see that one did Robbie turn in or did Jordan CL uh get in the Gap and close him down that's a tough one could be a racing incident not every contact has to be a penalty Jeremy no that's right and I mean the acur was clearly alongside him going into turn four there quite frankly and Robbie just turned in I think not knowing that the Acura was was right there alongside him I don't think you can pin it on the Acura quite frankly I think it was just really unfortunate for Robbie Foley I mean they were absolutely side by side I think it wasn't I don't think it was a late lunge we can have another look at it from a different angle that's another that's the off of the Forte car they've ripped some right rear Bodywork off again that's uh coming through turn six and there's a bit of the rear Arch that is sticking out at a jawy angle movable aerodynamic device it's not chaparal esque but uh certainly it's not as it came out of Santa Agata tandi holding the lead at 6 seconds at the moment here all racings luren Hinrich leading in GTD Pro Marvin Kirk offer has had the hurry up and has pulled out a second on Tommy Milner Phil Ellis for Winward recently to the lead with Robbie fley off the track and now only what is he a second ahead of Elliot gear for right Motorsports so shar's nomination for the BD NOS strategy award could be even better than third let's hope there's no damage to that BMW the with Molly car Jeremy your thoughts on a strategy winner yeah I mean look they they've uh I'm not going to argue against that I mean they they they certainly earned it they've had a brilliant day for right Motorsports has and uh I think they would be well deserving of that of that call I think you up at the front of the field in GTP there's nothing been any I don't think there's been any Stellar strategies I think it's just more strategic Mis calls quite frankly it's made made the decision there more than anything what rather than the other way around yeah I'd say definitely from me the strategy in GTP that has work best is actually for the leader uh we were wondering if they were chancing their arm a little bit but those last two or three laps where uh at the end when the car was getting light uh the Nick tandi added five seconds I saw to the lead and then didn't change the tires um that was great confidence Steven M off the circuit at turn three as Nick Tandy will see the White Flag next time around so that is our BD o newse strategy award then for the Imp and Weather Tech Sports Car Championship here at WeatherTech Raceway lagon sea it is going to the 120 Porsche the right Motorsports car and Bobby V will be wearing a mullet for at least a week but they will be collecting a very nice trophy excellent run to third at the moment mean time Nick tandi pretty decent on strategy and on speed the captain takes another Victory through goes Porsche Pensky Motorsport on the weekend where Pensky took their 100th po position in sports cars excuse me that's the white flag at this time around on the weekend where Roger Pensky organization took their 100th pool position in sports car racing over at the wac it looks like they are going to convert this one into a win this race into a win as Nick tany has 2 25 miles 2.23 miles his energy has been absolutely perfectly managed as well they will come to the line spot on their energy Target he's in behind the Privateer run Richard Westbrook car those two know each other very well no need to pass that car Nick 6.2 seconds on Jack aen he can drop away from the yellow car as he comes down through raining for the F final time now through turn 10 and it will be Victory this time tried to give it to them a bit early my apologies and it is Elation on the wall for Nick tandi and Matthew J the Luxembourg licensed driver with Nick tandi from Bedford in England they win by five call it six seconds in the end dramatic overtaking traffic that won it for them it'll be the second Porche Pensky Motorsport comes through to the final step of the podium behind the Cadillac and here's Rexy this will be a popular win Lauren Hinrich and Sebastian prio take the win for AO racing and that's a Porsche in two of the three classes with it will be Marvin K offer finishing up a good weekend for faf Motorsports Tommy Milner third for Corvette racing and just waiting for the leader soon to be winner after that side by side contact at the end of the race we had a really good battle going on between Phil Ellis and Robbie fley and here comes the Winward racing car Russell Ward and Phil Ellis cheering the car home there at the opposite end of the pit Lane he goes through the Checker now and that will be the win for Winwood turn of Motorsport in their 557th race in Pro Racing for BMW comes second they'll be hurting that they lost that one and right Motorsports in the Porsche ah BD no strategy award for this race takes third Shay Adam our crowd strike pit lanane reporter is down at Porsche Pensky Motorsports waiting for an opportunity to drive in with celebrations is just having sorry Shay go ahead oh that's all right I'm just waiting my turn as our colleagues at NBC Sports get a quick word with Mr Pensky before we were able to but quite a weekend for him and uh glad to see him here as a matter of fact because uh he had many different options of where to be uh between Indianapolis or spa or indeed here in montere and he chose to come to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna sea and he was well rewarded for that uh I see mat gin and actually no one's paying attention to him so I'm going to walk over and talk to our race winner really quickly Matt second win here how's it feel uh when was the first one 22 oh it's true yeah with Matty yeah second one uh obviously yeah we came short last year um it was close to came short again this year uh it looked good until the restart and last couple of spots but uh yeah Nick Nick kind of wake up and uh did an awesome job afterwards and put the pressure on and then yeah mistake from the 31 so uh yeah awesome day for the team P1 P3 and for us finally we get the season going and uh we are slowly coming back in the championship congrats on a big win thank thank you thank you see if I can find Captain uh he's gone back up on the Pratt perch which I'm going to have to climb up on and he's congratulating the uh Engineers who were able to get the car into Victory Lane so I'm going to go up into the Forbidden Pensky space and see if I can interrupt really quick congratulations sir on another win win number 100 in sports cars big weekend for you did you ever think it was going to happen here after the start of this race well I'll tell you was uh you know qualifying we maybe didn't have the speed but it looked like we had long run speed all day long and uh which was good great pit stops great strategy by the guys and fantastic driving by the guys in the car six but uh for the Porsche program to come here and wind is a big deal for me I won this back in the 60s if you can believe well in having the ren sport reunion board still up around the track Porsche's pres very much felt so I imagine that makes it even more special well I can tell you there's a lot of pressure coming from Porsche because they expect us to win and I think the guys have done we got a deep bench here we've been through some lot of stuff this past week couple of weeks but uh hey we're on the roll two out of four wins this year good luck racking them up not bad drama on the very last lap as well here's the unofficial results straight away confirming uh that it was Porsche Pensky racing in first and third sandwiching the number 31 wheel in engineering uh Cadillac at the end there the margin of Victory uh just under six seconds uh and just off the podium a good drive back by Wier racing in the Acura uh the four tires for the Acura in sixth position as well made a big difference Lauren Hinrich wins uh with Sebastian PR for a racing in GTD Pro in GT Phil Ellis with the dramatic win for Winwood racing with Russell Ward and right on the last lap the car that was leading the Truman Aken award Frederick shander Inception racing ran out of fuel and dropped all the way to the back of the GTD field extraordinary stuff just one retirement or one car that didn't make the end the conquest Ferrari went behind the wall uh uh partway through the race about 23ds of the way through the race Jeremy some quick unofficial points whilst the celebrations get underway yeah in the GTP the uh leaders will um Remain the number seven car on 1357 points unofficially 50 points ahead now of number 31 car which with another a third second place finish out of four races will have 1307 third position will be the Cadillac 01 that had a a really difficult end to this race on 1269 in the manufactured Championship Cadillac will continue to lead from Porsche but by only 10 points now 1450 to 1440 speaking of Porsche another Porche victory in GD Pro end plate at the back of the winning Porsche that Nick tandi wanted to have a look at when he got out of the car not sure where that happened but that looked like the Leading Edge of that wing it had a shark bite out of it uh let's head to our winners in GTD Pro sh Adam has this crowd strike now Paddock report first win for both Lauren and sebie guys finally Rexy a race winner you guys were able to do it did you ever dream that this would happen Lauren I mean it's it's a dream come true for sure uh together with Rexy to get a first win in GT Pro against all these tough competitors we were really close in Theona we were really fast in Sebring couldn't get it over the line but now we made it and I think we didn't have the fastest car today but we just excelled on strategy seed a awesome start kept the nose clean of rexi all teeth still play and I brought it home SE how nervous were you watching the end of that one yeah I was feeling really sick I would say but this guy did an amazing job the team as well absolutely awesome like like Lauren said the car wasn't the quickest today but we did the good best we could I'm so proud of this guy it's great to have our first win it feels amazing so yeah I'm really happy you guys nailed it first of many hopefully good luck thank you very much ah well done for them that will be a very very happy team uh indeed abbd o no strategy award the number 120 right Porsche they stealth their way up in onto the podium uh before we leave you on International feed let's take a couple more interviews he's going to Janette also from AO part of that program since its Inception this will be a very emotional gun to Janette with share gunar You've Won many of these races yourself but now doing it as the guy behind the program you've been with this since the beginning what does it feel like what are these emotions uh I'm a little bit flabbergasted right now um no I mean we we knew this was coming um but it's certainly nice to to get the first one done and in the bag and um I just I couldn't be more proud of all of the the AO staff that we've put together to for this program um who just put their hearts into this and and for all of the re see fans out there for all of the support for everything that people have been giving us I mean we're just so absolutely grateful and um yeah we're we're so excited to just keep building out the AO Universe um Rexy Roxy Spike I mean there's there's more stuff coming and and hopefully much more of the success it's a perfect appetizer for Lama isn't it yeah yeah I mean we're we're going to hop on a plane and fly over to France to do the the test there uh in a couple hours got to have to see if we uh can delay our flight uh and we might need a bottle a couple bottles of champagne for that congrats yeah thanks guys thanks and before we turn uh uh ourselves off the TV around the world and head to rs2 for Michin pors Race Tech hash Michin M uh p uh Michin PT here's Jeremy Shaw with the class points as they stand yeah in the GTD Pro uh the uh the leader coming into this weekend isn't even here this weekend that's AA COA did see only for so taking a lead today with the the victory will be AO racing on 981 points to the 925 of Vasa Sullivan let car number 14 and in third position will be Paul Miller Motorsports in car number Z1 car number one on 888 manufacturers Championship Porter again will lead that one also in GTD Pro in GTD non-pro well that's easy at Winward racing has won three of the four races in the seven and the other so still a very commanding lead which of course they extend now but to well over 200 points 1367 for Winward racing uh with a second position today turn Motorsport will retain its second place in the points manufacturing Championship again Mercedes leads from Lexus and Porsche well it's no wonder that these guys are leading the championship because they've won three out of the four races this year Phil first off what did you think you're actually going to have for Robbie at at the end if it was a fair fight to be honest I didn't have anything more than uh what we showed um that's all we had I was actually lucky that Ross let me byy at some point as well uh to actually give Chase to Robbie cuz I I wouldn't have a way by him already and then it was the same with Robbie I think uh if we were out in front we might have been a little bit faster than them but it's just uh yeah it's just not our track where we really have a car to overtake other people uh it might look good on lap time but it's definitely not great to race uh so yeah I think uh what ended up happening is that I simply put on the press on Robbie um and then he got in a little fight with the one of the prototypes so it was unfortunate that it ended that way I would have liked to do it myself of course but to be honest uh we didn't have it today you'll take it I'll take it for sure yeah I'm I'm happy that it happened I'm not uh happy about the way it happened but uh yeah we'll take it and Russell this was the sight of your first pilot win way back when now you get another GTD win what does this feel like compared to that man I mean this this the momentum we're having this year is just incredible I mean we feel pretty much Unstoppable but still a long season to go ahead and and you know we've won a lot of races we can win anywhere we go but we really we really want to bring that Championship home and that's goal number one so you know hats off to the crew what an amazing job and but we're going to be back Monday and in the shop and making it go faster you forget about it very quickly uh congrats to you guys both from John as well he's just said in my ear he's really pumped for you awesome thank you very much hi to John and Happy Mother's Day hi Mom oh well remembered hiom oh very nicely done by Russell Ward who takes the win with Phil Ellis in GTD Lauren Hinrich and Sebastian PR in the GT Pro C category for Porsche but what a victory for Nick tandi and Matthew Jam Porche Pensky Motorsport come out on top after a nearly an hour long battle with
