is Boomtown and this week part of that explosion is Barrett-Jackson the world's greatest collector car auction you know we used to call Las Vegas Sin City these days well we're calling it wind City because of the great sports teams the golden knights just won the Stanley Cup Playoffs the aces have already won a WNBA Championship ah but this week a lot of the big winners are going to be up on the auction block with bitter cards getting the winning bid on some of these great cars that will be crossing the block and we've got what a collection I mean everything from classic American Muscle vintage American Iron modern American royalty and Hyper cars from Italy an sf90 Ferrari capable of doing 0-60 in just over two seconds and once again when those bitter cards go up we're going to have yet another winner here in Wind City and of course we've assembled the best team to bring you all the information you need to know about all these cars starting with Mike Joy thanks Rick and hi everybody on everybody's biggest list of racing badasses Parnelli Jones is right at the top he won the Trans Am Championship he won the Indy 500 sprint cars midgets but off-road wow from 1970 to 74 he ran the big ole Bronco sponsored by Olympia Beer and had great success with it this is a full-on recreation of that vehicle and this has had all modern conveniences added to it but it is Faithfully styled just like the original and these folks have had a lot of fun with it it just completed a 75 thousand dollar restoration and the craftsmanship here the workmanship is fantastic and you would love to take this out to the dunes and go off-roading wouldn't you well the highest bidder will get to do just that let's go right across the aisle to my block mate Steve mignante well thank you Mike you know there's a lot of variety here at Barrett-Jackson from Broncos to Mopars and of course Hemmings are where the bear Jacks where the hemis come out to play and bidders come out to pay for cars like this a beautiful restored 1968. now the Roadrunner was originally born to be under 3 000 bucks so high school kids with a strong work ethic could buy one well when you added the hammy for about 900 bucks you had a street sleeper of the first order this one here is low content car but perfectly restored even has radio delete in other words all the better here that 425 horsepower Hemi under the hood bench seat interior and even the headrests were optional a beautiful example of the breed right here you're going to see across the block at Barrett-Jackson let's throw it now to Tyler the YouTube Creator Hoover well the two most famous Mustangs in film have to be Steve McQueen's Highland Green 68 Mustang and of course the Gone in 60 Seconds Eleanor the 67 GT500 custom it was birthed from Chip Foose he painted the design to really make the GT500 pop in the 2000 Nicholas Cage film and boy did it because everybody wanted one including Las Vegas Entertainer the late Danny Gans he commissioned this in 2002 so a very early build of an Eleanor replica we have right here and you can see the iconic body the side pipes basically a really cool looking sort of an update a custom GT500 nowadays we see plenty still being built they're still very popular with Coyote motors supercharged Strokers but this one a tried and true 351 Windsor what do you have April Tyler I'm with this beautiful truck this is what Barrett Jackson's all about she's going across on Saturday 19 74 custom rusto mod Bronco I love what Builders do these first generation Broncos the painted white Grill you got the red Ford lettering red pinstripe all the way around LED headlights it's just so cool to see that the heart a second gen 5 liter V8 six-speed automatic and get this she is Riding High with a three inch body lift and a two and a half inch suspension lift two shocks on each corner so you can jump right over traffic if you needed to now inside is stunning you got a full digital screen beautiful tan leather tan padded custom Dash custom wood wheel I mean I just love these first generation Broncos like this I'll finish off in a very elegant earl gray paint man this is beautiful Merv can you tap that yeah April I think I can top that you know how I love a good Defender well I have found an absolute Beauty this is like 779.1 and 1992 Land Rover Defender 90 custom SUV have a look at look at this satin olive green is the paint and on the top high gloss black just sets it off beautifully with the custom Pro Comp wheels and then if you come around here have a look in the interior here saddle tan interior which I absolutely love it's so organic to this vehicle and the look of this vehicle this one well it's a five-speed manual with a 2.5 liter turbo diesel and what I really love as well the instrumentation they've maintained the original instrumentation on this vehicle so you feel like you're in a classic Defender yet this one well it's had a complete top to bottom restoration from Big Sky Defender this is a little beauty crossing the block Rick on Saturday well thanks a lot Murph all those cars we just previewed will be crossing the block on Saturday but we have plenty of great stuff that we'll be going across today and tomorrow as well now we have five hours of live coverage today on FYI going all the way until 8 PM eastern time tomorrow we come back starting at 3 P.M eastern time going away the way to 9 p.m on FYI and then on Saturday but we have seven full hours on the History Channel starting at 3 P.M eastern time once again what you just saw was just a sampling of the amazing Machinery that will be crossing the block during the course of our three days of Barrett-Jackson collector car auction live from Las Vegas [Music] thank you back here in Las Vegas the first of three days of coverage here of the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction all these cars of course crossing the block at no reserve and we're going to start with a Corvette in this case a 1988 35th Anniversary Edition well that was uh RPO regular production option zero one it's the 35th Anniversary Edition car with pearl white paint and wheels and interior power steering power disc brakes of course uh the glass roof on this one the very special badging here on the sides and a TPI tuned port injection motor yeah the white paint on this of course plays back to the idea that back in 1953 35 years before this car was built all Corvettes all 300 were Polo white with a red interior this one is of course an automatic but it packs the tuned Port injected 350 under the hood 330 foot-pounds of torque these are pretty quick cars for the 1980s aftermarket stereo added and the seats I believe have been changed out or at least recovered in a black Tweed kind of material and Steve you just bought a C4 didn't you this is your second round on the C4 what do you like about these cars well you know it's true I bought an 87 with the four plus three manual transmission and 73 000 original car from my friends at high octane Classics in Auburn Mass and I love the car you know it's a little hard to get in and out of I'm 58 years old but a tremendous bargain for performance again the C4 Corvette really revolutionized Corvette getting away from the Antiques in the 1960s and 70s and truly a world-class car for its fine even now cheap inexpensive cars to buy a lot of value [Music] what a purchase this is I'll tell you what we're in serious deal money right now like Steve just said only three thousand dollars the current bid for an 88 Corvette 35th Anniversary Edition Just 2 000 of these made well there's always a reason why the number is high or low and often it has to do with numbers on the odometer in this case 157 000 miles on the clock these were made in Fairly fairly High numbers like 20 to 25 000 per year but again this has the Chevy small block the 700R4 automatic these will go a couple hundred thousand miles with maintenance they're pretty much like a pretty crisp example despite the high miles and the great thing is you join the Corvette wave Club Corvette owners love to drive by each other and give a wave and it doesn't matter whether it's a c one two three four all the way to the C8 and this there are so many of these made there's so many of them out there so many parts available for these if you want to get into the Corvette World honestly this is a perfect place to start come on Exotica under that fiberglass skin fiberglass transverse leaf springs forged aluminum upper lower control arms rack and pinion steering I mean these are very much Advanced cars world-class stock for 1984 when it came out and kind of to this day they're still pretty modern [Music] and the C5 that followed this was truly revolutionary taking it to the next level but once again they've built this for an awful long time there's so many of them out there and it's just a fun fun car find one in as good a condition as you can because frankly you know that it does take money to repair them why not spend just a little bit more and we're not talking you know thirty thousand dollars here you could buy something fun for less than 10 grand the great part of these These are great daily drivers a lot of utility the glass patch on these things does live these are about as voluminous as a classic American sedan massive area in the back and again remember from 1977 76 onwards 78 armored that hatch on the back of the C3 or C2 did not open so with that said uh this is actually a very functional car this opens up you can put a 55 gallon drum in the back if you wanted to a lot of room yeah once they went to the hatchback it's amazing how much you can put into the back of these especially if you're going on a weekend trip I used to have a C5 Corvette well I could put tons of stuff in the back golf bags to luggage and go on a nice weekend trip this point is slowly but surely for a while it was languishing down around 3000 3500 now we're up to 11 700 the current bid and that is where the hammer comes down for this 2000 probably 1988 Corvette and with that let's check in with Christian Murphy and a couple of special guests thank you very much Rick I think I'm the lucky member of our broadcast team I get to speak with the head honchos here Craig Jackson chairman and CEO Steve Davis the president gentlemen congratulations 15 years here in Las Vegas tell me about where it all began and what was it like back then Steve you want to start on that one well I'll tell you in the blink of an eye it's 15 years ago but in another in another way you look at this thing and it happened an hour ago it was incredible we came to Vegas anticipating something special uh we happened to time it right when the financial meltdown literally was taking place in the midst of our auction we had lines out the door we had a record event it was absolutely phenomenal every way and kind of set the stage for every auction that we've had in Vegas since it's Vegas is spectacular and you can always expect the level of excitement to be off the chart as it is today Craig absolutely yeah you look back over these last 15 years some great moments uh selling great charity cars the people all the entertainers like Siegfried and Roy up on the stage selling Danny gant's cars uh they're no longer with us having the royalty of entertainment of Las Vegas Wayne Newton Mr Las Vegas we've had so many great moments I think Baron Jackson is very much about the experience and that this auction your 15th or 15th year you have a new addition that's going to really take the experience of Barrett Jackson to another level which is the fan Zone tell us a little bit about that so the fan zone is uh using our new partnership with the WME Endeavor they own UFC PBR so there's a fan zone so you're going to be Fighters there and the fan Zone bull riders we also have a area over there for F1 and you have live entertainment uh two of the members of the Gin Blossoms will be playing today so it's live entertainment autograph signing it is really integrating us into all of the other properties with Endeavor yeah it's wonderful to be part of that Barrett-Jackson experience Steve was standing amongst the headliner cars Ford GT has Stephanie over here but tell me how the week lies out and today really is an opportunity for anyone to get into the hobby absolutely by Design at Barrett Jackson we want everyone to experience what we call the Barrett Jacks experience as we've just seen with the Corvette those two guys bidding you get to that's the same excitement we're going to see is Saturday at four or five o'clock in the afternoon that's the key Thursday is designed for people to come maybe they don't have an unlimited budget but they want to buy the car of their dreams or maybe it's a starter car or something to build with the family the son the daughter the absolutely opportunity to buy something affordable this is your day this is all about coming to Bear Jackson spending time dreaming about the cars you want and actually bidding on the car that you want to take home with you without spending a million bucks now I don't want to get ahead of myself but Saturday is going to be great give me Just One Last Word on each Saturday what are you looking forward to seeing Craig I think this row here so I've done pieces on several of these cars you got the Brian Frank collection more cars uh coming out of his fantastic oh you said two truckloads those 409s that He said but this uh Ford GT lightweight you just mentioned the SF Ferrari Aventador and we have across the board great cars in every single category and it Peaks there on Saturday 30 and then selling the demon for charity that's going to be historic uh the largest highest horsepower car ever made out of uh Detroit and they're sold out being able to order it in a one-off color all the money going to Christy's house that's going to be a great moment too stay girl set up for a great wake one last word well again just going back Las Vegas is like our second home we've lived soon lived through some incredible exciting moments we've also lived so through some really tense moments uh no need to revisit those we all know what happened in Las Vegas the one year that our event was coming in but we overcame all those adversities we're looking now uh reflecting on those moments with with deference and respect and looking forward to excitement in another Viva Las Vegas Viva bear Jax experience rock and roll auction congratulations on 15 years here's to another 15 to come Rick take it back up to you all right thanks a lot Murphy we appreciate it enough of the block modern stuff a 2005 Audi S4 Quattro convertible when I heard the term Quattro I think of Walter roll and Audi Sport quattros but those had inline five-cylinder engines back there in the early to mid 80s this is a V8 and yep Audi got into the V8 error as you entered the 20th century and the 21st century and here's a great example the top goes down yeah the S4 in Coupe convertible and four-door sedan was a very good very strong performance car but without ease kind of muted three-piece suit styling it didn't Stand Out visually from the crowd this one shows damage on the vehicle history report to the front left side left front left rear right side right front right rear isn't that kind of everywhere and no details on how badly the car was damaged though it does appear to have been rebuilt redone and refinished to a high standard but that vehicle history report is so important as to the provenance and history of the car and in this case that'll hold the number back of course it's also remember that Quattro means all-wheel drive and indeed unlike a tire smoking two-wheel drive V8 type car this works with all four tires and surprisingly entertaining to drive yeah think about it 340 horsepower coming out of that 4.2 liter V8 engine and remember this is 2005. at that point solid money and solid numbers for that kind of horsepower and a pretty relatively light car current bid on this four thousand three hundred dollars [Music] and blacked out not sure their Factory but again dual exhaust out the back V8 power up front they backed the bit up just a little bit to four thousand dollars those folks there come away the winner on that 2005 Audi S4 Quattro convertible I'll write the number on the sold sticker we will take a break here in Las Vegas [Music] uh back here in Las Vegas when the convention center the West Hall plenty of cars so many to see let's check in with April who's found a great one correct yes I'm in my absolute favorite place to be here at Bear Jackson I know the block is cool but the staging Lanes is where it's at these are where all the cars get their last looks and bidders and consigners can clean them up and just take a closer peek like this really cool 1983 Land Rover Series 3 Santana 88 just a really sweet boxy look and that traditional metal Grill changed to a plastic one on the series three now inside you're going to see lots of bare metal now molded plastic is used for the dash to make it a bit safer and those gauges right there they used to be in the center in the past now they're right in front of the driver this has a 2.25 liter four-cylinder diesel four-speed manual and they're made in Spain by Santana under the Land Rover license so they have a little more culture they're a little neater what do you think Rick Gotta Love a Land Rover right you know or no matter where you go in the world the furthest corner there's Land Rovers out there because these things you could just be eat them beat him beat him and they kept running that'll be up at the Block before too long don't forget just go to barrett-jackson.com that's where you can find the full list of cars that will be crossing the block over the course in the next three days remember you can always make an arrangement to bid online or you can bid by phone so make sure you head over to barrett-jackson.com pick up on the truck on the Block uh 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 right now well this is a V8 truck but it's not a Hemi let's remember of course the 4.7 liter single to hit cam Intec V8 was also available and the Hemi 5.7 would have been a step up from that this is the 4.7 [Music] and away it goes five thousand five hundred dollars for that very modern Ram pickup I should say Dodge Ram at this point in time all right we've seen several Corvettes crossing the block now another C4 this one's from 1985. and red over red now on these C4 Corvettes you had a choice of roofs you could get a solid roof in body color or you could get this plastic not glass but plastic root which would let some of the sunlight in or you could order your Corvette with both roofs and the roof stores underneath the hatch there are some nice receptacles for it right here inside the luggage compartment you know my favorite party trick on a Corvette is up front The Hideaway headlights are nicely tucked away for great aerodynamics but when you hit the headlight switch which you get is a really cool little trick where in the doors rotate into the up position very cool yeah it's kind of a shame that the need for aerodynamic efficiency and fuel mileage killed Hideaway headlights a couple of generations later for Corvette I like the C4 I had a 94. by then the car was very well had its six-speed manual transmission the easily disabled skip shift feature on there was really terrific and I didn't know I bought an economy car that thing would get 28 miles to the gallon on the highway I was surprised and gratified under your point Mike I had the Doug Nash 4 plus 3 transmission and we all know that the whole point of those things the skip shift and the four plus three was to get away from the 750 gas buzzer surcharge you would have paid when that car was new in 1987 so they have their place for sure but it was mostly about satisfying Cafe emissions afraid of 80s styling in this C4 the dash is just Acres of plastic looking all of a piece and the airbag of one on MGS they called the pillow Dash the airbag for the passenger uh right there up front the way that one goes at 13 500 all right let's take a look at what's about to cross the block under McGuire's on Deck cam here in this case it's going to be a 1987 Cadillac brome sedan a big 5-liter V8 engine only 65 000 miles that'll be up to the block before too soon but right now something very interesting luxury from a different era shall we say a 1966 Austin princess limousine is up on the Block right now kind of like Mercedes or even General Motors Austin had cars from the mini which was the smallest basic four-seat compact car you could buy all the way up to this princess limousine all in production at the same time 1966 four liter six-cylinder engine stock but this car loaded with power steering Pearl Dash leather interior and it's a car meant to ride in not to drive yourself not to play into a stereotype if it's a British car with a positive ground and of course the Lucas electricals we saw a second ago the hand crank provision under the radiator so technically yes if you're battery died you could crank this baby over by hand the provision is absolutely still there and that's what it's for Acres of room in the back seat of this two rows of the footrest down up there so you can ride in just relative luxury now many of these were trimmed in Connolly leather this one uh in a very nice beige cloth with that great burnled wood surround now the greenhouse of this is unusually tall if you're used to American glow in wide cars but again it was all about being able to wear a top hat or a formal dress and not take your hat off when you get into your limousine on the way tour from the Opera [Music] everybody tell you what this is easily the top seller of the day so far here on Friday thirty thousand dollars that gentleman right there just bid for a 1966 Austin princess limousine just a six-cylinder injury very stock but also presents very well once again thirty thousand dollars the hammer price easily the top seller of the day so far A little while ago we showed you the on Deck car this 1987 Cadillac brome sedan and now it's up on the Block well this to me is really growing on me I love these especially in a two-door the Coupe DeVille but again this is Cadillac's first downsizing of a full-size car 1977 through 87 a 10-year run and again this is Cadillac's D Body which is their luxury platform and again final year for rear wheel drive on this it would go to front wheel drive in 1988 and again large American car body on frame construction the other thing that was downsized was the engine Steve from way over 500 cubic inches this one just has a 305 it is a four-door sedan and previously this was known as the Fleetwood broom and the broom refers to the top of the line luxury interior and padded vinyl top you know the more years pass and I don't see these on the road I really begin to appreciate the taut body styling on this it's not too big not too small great looking cars especially as a two-door I dare say these will be coming around and be much more than just used cars in the very near future full power windows and one thing you'll note that every seating position gets its own ashtray and cigarette lighter because that's the way things were back then now this one is powered by an Oldsmobile 307 and indeed we all know that in the late 70s it was a class action lawsuit folks said hey Mike Cadillac doesn't have a Cadillac engine so there was some changes in descriptions but again olds 307 power in this Cadillac you see these in a deteriorated state in inner cities this piece is often Amendment it is made of a plastic that deteriorates in ultraviolet or sunlight so you'll see steel and chrome and a gap of five thousand dollars is the gap price for that 1987 Cadillac Brougham sedan coming up in just a little bit we're going to take it back about five decades to 1935 at a Chrysler Airstream uh this was a car before its time 93 horsepower three-speed transmission we'll see it soon [Music] [Applause] welcome back to Barrett Jackson the world's greatest collector car auction I love the very beginning of the auction because it's an Eclectic mix of fun stuff like this a 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia you know maybe about 10 years ago in Scottsdale we sold a Chrysler concept car called The d'Elegance designed in Chrysler by Virgil exner in Detroit built by gear well this is a 7 10 scale version of the d'Elegance yes indeed designed by Virgil exner but no hit me up front this one has a Volkswagen engine on the back and a Beetle chassis a little bit of mismatch here between the quarter panel and the engine cover not quite sure what happened there but what I'm drawn to on this car are the wheels are American Racing silver Stones that's the U.S company's take on the eight spoke mini light wheel you can tell a Silverstone by the recesses here for the lug holes the mini lights didn't have those many of these wheels were sold for Volkswagens by the company empi so they're also known as the MP wheel but correctly they're silver Stones now one detail about the Karmann Ghia unlike a beetle which had the same basic edge with an air cleaner up top again the lines of the body are so much lower the common view gets an offset air cleaner otherwise the same basic engine now the yellow color coding in here is not Factory kind of a cool little Custom Touch twelve thousand dollars the price on a 1972 Volkswagen Carman Gear with that 1600 cc engine the summit racing sticker goes on twelve thousand dollars the price and away it goes let's check in with Tyler Hoover well I'm with Lot 37 and it's pontiac's last attempt to give us a little bit of driving excitement here with a 2006 Pontiac Solstice of course these were the sports cars last chance with Pontiac to try to save the brand before their bankruptcy in 2009 it did work I think it's a cool car designed by Franz von Holzhausen he went on to style all the cars for Tesla and of course this was shared with the Saturn Sky Roadster another brand orphaned by General Motors in the bankruptcy in 2009 but these were really good tight handling cars finally we had an alternative when it came to Auto Crossing other than a Miata sort of priced in between a Miata or a Honda S2000 you see that four cylinder in there nice little engine they had turbos optional on these as well this one being a six-speed manual or a five-speed be the one that I have criticism to these well the Interiors they were a little bit lackluster in the quality and then of course with the top down here when it goes up we have almost no trunk space but this is the end of the ERA this is the last of the Pontiacs and well I think it's a future classic what do you think actually I agree completely even the fact that it is a Pontiac it's a very unique Pontiac not a lot of those built of course you can also get the Saturday Sky version but I love those things nine thousand five hundred ten thousand dollars the bid on a 1983 Land Rover this is the one today for previewed just a little while ago well the odd touch about this again it was built in Spain and the big giveaway there is the 140 kilometer power speedometer again this won't go 140 it's a turbo diesel something we never got here in the states the East Germany had a gas four banger or in some cases the aluminum GM V8 but again by way of Spain this is an import if you will uh the Santana well instead of a JDM or a BDM I guess we'll call this an SDM Spanish domestic import ten thousand dollars for that 1983 Land Rover Series 3 Santana 88. all right if you'd like to test your collector car knowledge and maybe even grab a great prize in the process you're going to want to play Fantasy bit brought to you by Dodge go to promo dot Barrett jacksonfantasybid.com to register and play you're going to try to predict the winning bid of Select auction vehicles that will cross the block on Saturday June 24th this Saturday the winner at the end of all four of the 2023 barrett-jacks and auctions is going to win the grand prize it's a 2023 Dodge Charger and if you're really on top of your game this week and you can predict the exact final bid of all 12 fantasy bits you could win 100 000 it's the perfect 12 jackpot so make sure you register to play now turn terms of conditions apply you have to be 18 to play all you have to do remember is visit promo dot Barrett jacksonfantasybid.com for the official rules [Music] yep it's Las Vegas all kinds of great things to see and do here and of course one of the best is Barrett Jackson we're here at the Las Vegas consent Convention Center West Hall place is packed with cars that'll be crossing the block all at no reserve and up on the Block right now got a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass custom kind of a NASCAR retro throwback kind of thing sure this is a Dave Marcus tribute car it's got the arrow Wheels they would have run it's got the side exhaust got Marcus number 71 on the side Auto Meter gauges on the dash the four speed it's had an engine transplant a lot of NASCAR stuff up under the hood I would say the powertrain in this car is worth more well more than what's currently bid what interesting detail that has nothing to do with modifications is Stone stock the front grills are designed to be flat they're spring-loaded both sides that's Factory stuff part of the federal mandate for five mile per hour impact oh invisibility if you will that's Factory stock stuff this is not a 442 or Hearst old but otherwise a G-Body very popular today with uh everybody modified or stock [Music] we see some expensive goodies on this one four-wheel District Moser axles of course Greg Moser his company makes axles that are upgrades from Factory stock but bolt right in the stock location this is the bargain of the day right here the engine and drivetrain in this car is probably to recreate it you'd spend twice what is currently bid so here's the question does it need a little more NASCAR show on the outside a little more flash to make it sound yes it needs it needs something it needed more bitters Rick that's all five thousand five hundred dollars congratulations to those folks right there all right rolling up on the Block we got a 1966 Mercury Comet custom Coupe and it's time for some Haggerty fast facts now this was originally planned believe it or not to be an Edsel model although by then Edsel was gone so it was based on the Ford Falcon and of course in 1966 it went from the Falcon chassis and shifted over to the Fairlane chassis but right now we've got this Mercury Comet custom up on the Block so the Falcon was a compact the Fairlane was a mid-size Scoops like these were available with the high horsepower and Sport trim levels which this was not American Racing five-spoke mag wheels bucket seats and a full console in the interior which is very nicely done it's had to repaint and resale red the chrome bumpers are now flat but that's okay that's just one Enthusiast interpretation of what this car should be yeah to your point Mike something unique about that hood that would go on a cyclone and that's fiberglass one of the first instances of a mass-produced car with a fiberglass hood on it 65 or 66 and seven and this car was born as C code which means it was a 289 two barrel but now has a 347 small block from blueprint engines one of our sponsors out in Kearney Nebraska but a nice little hot rod and at this price buy it and drive it even if a quarter mile at a time you know whatever your fun level is take it on uh the ice take it out for ice cream at this price it's a very nice entry-level collectible I was gonna say this is a perfect way to get into the collector car world you're not breaking the bank less than twenty thousand dollars looks good it's something unique I'll tell you what I think that's an excellent Vine as Mike said an excellent way to get into the collector car hobby let's check in with April Rose hey Rick I'm with us 1990 Bronco Eddie Bauer edition now this is the fourth generation for the Bronco and they got a little smoother you see the flush headlights and the bumper kind of wraps around the front here also the Eddie Bauer call out on the side the cool Swing Away mirrors and check it out inside of course the Eddie Bauer edition you get these super comfortable Captain's chairs with armrests just all cloth even the gauges actually right up front there they got smoothed and rounded as well thicker carpeting just all around more luxurious now this one's got the big 5.8 four-speed automatic really cool two-tone black and tan look now these came with three trim options you get the custom the XLT or the Eddie Bauer edition Rick I think you're kind of a high-end guy I see you driving this classy Eddie Bauer edition what do you think absolutely I'm a designer guy all the way that'll be up on the Block before too long love it can't wait for it all right this is the car that Tyler Hoover previewed a little while ago 2006 Pontiac Solstice I like these Rick this was pontiac's last attempt at a two-seat sports car as Tyler pointed out and every time I go to cruise night in Depot town in Ypsilanti Michigan there are always half a dozen of these beautifully preserved and their cousins the Saturn Sky because these cars were offered to GM Factory employees at very deep discounts I think these are absolutely future Collectibles and the time to buy one is right now these are a pretty decent engine this is not a turbo there was a 260 horsepower turbo version of this if you wanted if this is the 2.0 liter Ecotec V or inline four not even use an EcoBoost that's a Ford engine but again this is variable valve timing which is to say that behaves like a high RPM engine or a low RPM and I can't get through it over but again variable valve timing on that inline four pretty good stuff for low and high RPM Power note the sculpted Dash and that black surround kind of cockpit light very ferrari-esque styling on the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky 8 500 for a 2006 that first year Pontiac Solstice well don't forget to watch our live coverage of Barrett-Jackson Super Saturday which terms and conditions apply check it out save some money buy some fun stuff 1984 Chevy El Camino this is the final generation of El Camino and 82-87 they had faces or grills like this with the quad headlights this is the sister that Conquistador just conquist the up level trim version the seats have been recovered some wood has been added inside a chrome mag wheels a bed liner the coffin rails on the bed the gentleman's pick up truck if you didn't want the harsh ride of a pickup truck well it's a car in the front it's a pickup in the back I have them and I love them you know it's about that ride these actually ride on a unique frame with a longer wheelbase than a wagon or a Tudor or a four-door so the ultimate has its own frame but with that said these all have Factory issue air shocks we can see right here behind the gas filler door the super lift shock absorber that's the air fill valve right there standard equipment on all El Caminos pretty cool foreign well there used to be a little plate right here and a little valve to fill the air shocks uh that is not present on this one I guess it gets relocated underneath yeah 77 back he was behind the plate but again the beauty of that is that if you have a heavy load up to oh 800 pounds just air them up you're riding a level or let the air out and ride level with an empty bed which most of these things actually were used empty and again the beauty here is when he's downsized in 78 they actually have the same volume in the back as the full size 77. thanks to that long wheelbase ten thousand dollars for a 1984 El Camino it's a conquistador 305 cubic inches they wave it away and off it goes into the Las Vegas Convention Center where it'll sit that's a great thing about Barry Jackson you can walk around see the cars that have yet to cross the block and the cars that have already been sold 2000 Jaguar XK up on the Block oh beautiful car a V8 power this was the modern 40 years later interpretation of the original Jaguar E-Type the car that kind of stole everybody's souls how many miles on this one 79 000 miles so that will certainly affect the bidders here uh I guess you'd call this black but it appears to be a very very dark metallic green almost like a midnight green if you will those Wheels alloy wheels are Factory Seven spoke beautiful car and very highly prized in its day and this is a cousin to the one used in the Ford Thunderbird which was reborn around the same time again jaguar and Ford were cousins corporate wise at this point they shared some parts the burled wood inside this and the leather is just gorgeous and yes the car has a lot of miles it's been well enjoyed but still a lot of miles to go here well a lot of miles but remember this is a 20 79 000 miles in 23 years not too bad I hope it's been you know slowly but surely driven over the time so it was kind of added on a regular basis [Music] so that puts a bow on our first hour of coverage here in Las Vegas but we are just revving up four more hours of live auction action are headed your way [Music] welcome to Las Vegas and the world's greatest collector car auctions Barrett Jackson 15 years we've been coming to this town and enjoying a great collection of cars as they cross the block and we've got another fun collection all filling the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center check that out we got a Cadillac we've got an interesting E-Type Jaguar with a Chevy engine in it we've got a 69 Camaro all those cars filling the auction Arena and they'll be crossing the block selling it no Reserve over the course of the next three days we just saw 2 000 Jaguar XK AC cross the block and sell for eighteen thousand dollars now we've got a 2007 Lexus ES 350. so the question raised by this car is why is it here the ES 350 was the base Lexus sedan at the time it has the bones of a Toyota Camry but is a lot more luxurious it has 23 verified service records and 80 000 miles on the clock and it's here because the consigner believes that this is a future collector and then somebody's going to snag this put it away in their collection and as time goes by Lexus if you want one here you go yeah the Lexus line as we know is essentially Toyota however they did a very wise move from a marketing standpoint to Rebrand and their thing was quality control and build quality the Gap lines on these things are virtually on free of wobbles and high points you might find on a link and that was their whole thing quality in construction high value taking on BMW Mercedes and what do you know it worked we just saw a Jaguar across the block and had 80 000 miles and yeah that's kind of a lot of miles for a 2000 Jaguar but for a 2007 Lexus ES at 80 000 miles I got news for you this thing is good for another 100 150 000 miles and this car has been very well cared for the paint is still gleaming and looks showroom fresh somebody enjoyed this car a whole lot and hopefully it's next owner will as well this is still front wheel drive Lexus would also invade the rear wheel drive Market transverse 3.5 liter V6 under that hood when you watch all of Barrett Jackson you realize you don't have to have a hundred thousand dollars to buy a car there's all kinds of stuff that cross the block and truly something for everybody a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo SS this is a Dale Earnhardt Intimidator Edition so this is the front drive Monte Carlo uh which came along long after the passing of Dale Earnhardt but it was done by Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton North Carolina as a tribute Edition it has The Big E logos on the headrest and the Intimidator badging along the lower body side the Chevrolet bow tie and SS badges are in red because Chevy for their racing used the theme beware the red bow tie so this was unauthorized by Teresa Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet dealership Tribune Edition and best of all under the hood while this is a front-wheel drive car which some people bulk at a little bit the SS was the only way to get the 3.8 liter supercharged and with 240 horsepower we got it right here and this body shape was raced in the Nascar Cup Series in the early 2000s you'll see a lot of I believe Dale Earnhardt Jr won his first NASCAR cup race in a car bodied very much like this one it is interesting to know that that push rod 3.8 liter Buick V6 goes all the way back to 1962 and in fact the tooling was actually owned by Kaiser Jeep for many years GM bought it back in 73 put it back to production 75 but when they put superchargers and turbochargers on that 3.8 liter V8 it became a modern Legend although it goes all the way back 60 years [Music] and if you wonder the Buick Grand Nationals 3.8 liter is a cousin to this transverse mounted supercharged 3.8 liter both push rod engines very similar in many ways not identical but similar probably the best feature of this is the embroidering in the headrest the Dale Earnhardt Victory pose as that's Dale standing Atop The Car in which he won the 1998 Daytona 500 with the Big E behind less than 85 000 miles on this one just sold for four thousand five hundred dollars and speaking of Chevrolets at Palm Beach this year we saw a very special Chevrolet something very new across the block and get everybody's attention coming up on the Block a Corvette that's going to sell for a great cause here at Barrett-Jackson we've sold a lot of important Corvettes here but this is really a game changer going for a great cause the petroleum engine in the rear is not coupled to the front it is Electric in the front Petroleum in the back you can run it in emote if you want it is truly an amazing car a turning point and this is VIN number one this is an opportunity [Music] thousand dollars one million dollars for a 2024 Corvette e-ray the first ever to come off the line it's going to be Vim zero zero one what a great moment [Music] an amazing car and once again all the proceeds went to a great cause we see that so often here in Barrett-Jackson all right now we got a 1986 Nissan 300ZX third generation for the car that started out as the 240Z and by this time it had acquired a lot of Tupperware body cladding and t-tops and was being successfully raced by Paul Newman and Scott sharp and Bob sharp racing but third gen Z car here this is the generation went from an inline six to a B6 and yes turbocharging was certainly possible now if you were a kid back in the 80s like iOS this thing was was new if you saw four lug nuts okay that's a standard naturally aspirated five lugs turbo car look out this week we're also going to see the Next Generation 300 ZX cross the block and sell here at Bear Jackson that one just sold for six thousand dollars barrett-jackson.com is the place to go to you can see of prices for cars that have already sold and most importantly you can see the full list of cars that will be crossing the block over the course of our three days here in Las Vegas 1997 a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am this one is a WS6 and those last three characters are very important Rick because that is the ultimate performance package on this the fifth year for this generation of Camaro and Firebird you got better aerodynamics you've got all the horsepower available and I dare say of the malays area era which was coming to an end about this time this was one of the best performance cars you could buy this is just before the LS1 arrived on the scene and again these are interesting cars they have plastic fenders doors the rest of the body is steel that was about reducing weight and again reduced power and power to weight ratios are improved by getting out the metal and of course no rust on doors and fenders on these this is a WS6 six-speed car and so this was just about as much fun as you could have if you wanted to buy from Detroit in 1997. end of the line for the uh the second generation small block Chevy of course 1998 would bring the all aluminum LS1 and a whole new chapter in performance but again this one's got a manual transmission switch sets it apart WS6 Cold Air hood very desirable car Dan is now [Music] Pontiac would be around for another five years after this so they were still in the throes of doing things and thinking that they had a future at this point [Music] these are glass which is pretty cool they don't fade or craze mandated as of 1986 and Beyond but nicely integrated into the tail spoiler not an add-on which some of the earlier cars had that ugly add-on Lookers Mike likes to say the Tupperware effect I like that I'm going to use that [Music] tell you what seven thousand dollars for a WS6 Trans Am Pontiac from 1997. congratulations to that gentleman right there I'll wave it off once again it'll just go on to another location here in the convention center it's a car that April previewed just a little while ago the Eddie Bauer edition 1994 Bronco so Eddie Bauer the noted uh Outdoors firm with stores and malls all across the country let their name to Ford for over a decade to produce outdoor themed luxury versions of cars like the Bronco and the Explorer so these were very high trim levels they were often done in a two-tone as this car is with either a gold or beige two-tone and uh yeah very striking we had an Eddie Bauer Explorer great great vehicle this one is uh very much stock the aluminum wheels were certainly part of the Eddie Bear package it's pretty understated the tan and the dark brown this is a four-wheel drive of course but it still has manual locking rods what that means is if you get into the mud you have to get out and lock in the Warren front hubs your Eddie Bauer boots might get a little messy but again no inside four-wheel drive you had to lock them in by hand but otherwise a very luxurious off-road type vehicle yeah so again the numbers the high one on the odometer 129 000 miles is going to hold back the number on the screen this one has been well enjoyed but this is really in the collector range this has gone beyond being a used car it's more of the collector range I think it's you know a lot of people were going to buy this are going to think well it's easy to rebuild these have more or maybe just have fun with it and drive it around just the way it is now later in the weekend we're going to see on O.J Simpson style Bronco that was actually used in Los Angeles for tours of OJ land if you were if you know if you will no shortage of Broncos here this weekend that's for sure everything from 1966 to the modern versions powered by the 351 Ford V8 kind of a nice thing I'm a little bit shocked here really because you know the Chevy Blazers in the square body which is a cousin to this certainly a warrior a competitor on the showroom floor this is a very solid purchase at this point in time for this money that's a good thing somebody's getting a deal I think they've tried to keep it original but you know we've seen so many lightly customized Broncos bring more money it's one of those interesting phenomena's where it may be that a little customization would go a long way well this one falls into the Survivor category and after all it is 33 years old just sold for eight thousand dollars that 1994 Bronco Eddie Bauer edition [Music] is one of the many spectacular Broncos we're going to see crossing the block but there's so many more things to enjoy no matter what kind of car you like it's here [Music] a lot of Cadillacs cross the block at Barrett-Jackson like this one that's in the staging Lanes waiting its turn on the Block in fact a disproportionate number of Cadillacs to the number of them that you see on the road today why because when many of these cars were new Cadillac was the standard of the world Rick De Brule takes us for a ride in the Wayback machine [Music] for Cadillac 1941 was both a big leap forward and a grinding halt at the same time the leap forward it was the new design completely different than 1940. they left that swoopy 1930 style behind and went to something much more modern these big outboard fenders yeah still had a big tall Hood over the engine so what was the problem of World War II ground Automotive production to a hall which is why when you come over here to 1947 this Cadillac is essentially the same as that 1941 model yeah they've changed the hood a little bit put this big b into the Cadillac emblem also added some style down the side but ultimately when you look at these two cars they're essentially the same all the way down well to that tail light and then comes 1948 and the true beginning of Cadillac's post-war design now this particular car is a 1949 Cadillac but very similar to the 1948. notice how the looks changed how the fenders flow right into that hood much smoother styling of course that big old grill that really is going to set the tone for the 1950s the fender well now it's not sticking out as much it's flat this Aviation inspired chrome trim and at the very back where we're seeing the beginnings of an automotive icon the tail fin inspired by the P-38 Lightning imagine just a decade later how big and bold that would be [Applause] foreign and this Cadillac carrying enough Chrome and stainless steel uh to equip let's say 20 brand new Chevy Sparks this one is headed to the block shortly a perfect example why you want to buy them restored is the nicest one you can buy because getting a hold of all those bits and pieces not inexpensive these days up a block right now we've got a 2004 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL Roadster second year for this styling cycle of the black grill with the gold part of the Mercedes emblem that's not Factory but most everything else on this is except for the three-piece Wheels silver over black uh with burled wood and this car is just shy of turning a century a hundred thousand miles on the clock we have wide and wider wheels and especially on our rear wheel drive car I always like to see more real hoop distance on the back sort of an offset versus the fronts but again nice look ready to pound sets up a nice Dynamic vibe a little carbon fiber touch on the rear is this rear spoiler and I love that the top stack for the folding hardtop is completely flush completely flat as surely these straps will hold your luggage back there and there's a pop-up roll bar which we hope is never needed but the folding hard top convertible perfected by Mercedes in this styling cycle of SL that began in 2003. [Music] These Arm overhead cam engines but the beauty of Mercedes is they're one with chains not belts as a result they're a half a year ago 100 plus thousand miles without any issues with health changes like you might find on certain exotic Ferraris care for this one I counted no less than 20. SL Mercedes 2 2003 and newer in this year's Las Vegas sales so I'm sure one's coming along that's going to tempt you this one's got the convenience package got the Comfort package so it's well optioned interesting detail there's a suggestion of a back seat even has seat belts but if we take a look here you'd have to be well very short-legged but these are hard you could technically sit back here but again not highly recommended in many countries including the United States a two plus two convertible like this or a four-seat convertible insurance premiums would be lower than if this car was a pure two-seater [Music] 12 700 for a 2004 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL let's check in with Tyler Hoover well I think I've found the most expensive car at least when it comes to new MSRP here in the staging Lanes this 1990 Bentley Turbo R which knew was around 200 000 you can certainly see why the elegant body was riding on mineral oil suspension but when you step inside it gets super luxurious the rich two-tone leather that red leather dashboard red carpets tan leather inside heated seats power everything in 1990 pretty Advanced but the most advanced part was here under the hood I can open it up you see the 6.75 liter V8 with the Bosch mechanical fuel injection on top but right here is a big giant Garrett turbo so these were uh underrated 350 horsepower they could hustle to 60 in under seven seconds and recently a few months ago I was in Jay Little's garage and he actually has one of these in his collection that he bought new traded in the Mercedes a 300 SD with 120 horsepower really cool car my favorite one there was definitely the McLaren F1 I know Mike Joy back at the Block was visiting Jay Leno's Garage recently too what was your favorite car there I would have to say one of the brace of Lamborghini miuros just The Sidewinder V12 in the mirror that gorgeous styling uh I can't believe he has two I think that's well I'd like to have one but not at what they've sold for today but they're wonderful cars all up on the Block right now we have this 1935 Chrysler Airstream reviewed it just a little while ago don't call it an air flow we got one of those coming up in a second in fact these are sold side by side with the airflow and believe it or not these outsold airflow is five to one with her less Advanced on him and again a beautiful interior on this one now my favorite feature here is this little crank right up here at the top of the dash what does that do well if we back out here and close the door and look at the windshield it opens the windshield for ventilation [Music] yeah this car again was sold side by side along with the Chrysler air flow but the airflow is so Advanced it didn't sell well we'll see one of those in a second here ten thousand dollars for the Airstream from 1935. we'll take a quick break we will come back to Las Vegas and more cars right after this [Music] watching a collector car auction from the comfort of your living room or your bar but it's great they have bitter assistance up there you're up in the sky box if you want to bid on a car they got a way to make sure the auctioneer knows you're in the game 1987 Ford Bronco open the block right now this one's currently bid at 15 500 well you know we're seeing the SUV really heat up led by you know the Chevrolet Square bodies but Broncos are coming on strong this one's very pure unrestored largely original equipment I was looking this one over closely and I saw in the front it still had the automatic hubs for the four-wheel drive rather than having to get out and lock it in a lot of people would take that off and go back to the manual because it can get a little finicky and unreliables this one retains that along with everything else looks very very original on this Bronco yeah good boy we did see that Eddie Bauer edition which I think was an 86 with the get out and get wet locking hubs but again maintenance can be in a house or these but then when they were new it was a very convenient thing of course Jeep launched that whole thing in the 1970s with select track uh no need to get out anymore but again by this point in time Ford had adopted it as well [Music] sixteen thousand two hundred dollars for a 1987 Ford Bronco it's an XLT it's four by four in its original colors actually bought from the original owner just two years ago let's take a look at what's about to cross the block with our Maguires on Deck cam in this case it's a 2009 Audi TT convertible that color it's a special order meteor gray Pearl you see if I'm blocked very soon meanwhile we got a 1987 Mustang it's a GT convertible yeah Mustang the 5-0 the mighty fire bow 1987 of course about the third year you could get the convertible if you wanted it once again and the irony is these things were all built at Ford's plant in Dearborn as conventional hardtops the top was sawed off they were sent to cars and Concepts in Brighton Michigan where they were then finished out as convertibles and then sent back to Ford for shipment to the dealer now this 5-0 has a story to sell not uh vanilla ices sadly but this one did have a little incident according to the vehicle history report it was in a flood it's a salvage title due to a flood but these cars so simple electronically I imagine if it happened a while ago it would run fine I've owned a few flood cars and it didn't bother me at all this one isn't automatic which means it has a 327 to one rear axle ratio which is specific to automatic convertibles a little better acceleration off the line and something about the Mustang 5.0 the GTS are a little bit more dressed up the ground effects kit and at the back which some call the cheese grater tail lights when he first came out people said man that's ugly and Ford said maybe we'll take it off but they remained if you wanted a less embellished get a Ford LX 5-liter convertible but again they're both pretty quick little cars you know to your point Steve about the chassis and the fact that they just took a regular hardtop and cut the top off these days the modern Mustang convertible is on a special built chassis it's not one of those where they simply chop the top off it's actually designed to be on that chassis something like 200 000 Fox Mustang converters were built that's a bunch of cars that were done by cars and Concepts they had it down but if you take the plastic away from here these are modesty plates you will see some fairly rough handiwork inside there but again they were done in mass production but what an inconvenient and inefficient little system but it's true the sn95 in 1994 went to all in-house Fort built convertible models ten thousand dollars for a 1987 Ford Mustang GT convertible that two-tone wide over Red Power convertible and away it goes 2009 Audi TT convertible the one we previewed just a moment ago was up on the Block right now generation of the TT a car that came sort of out of no ose from Audi and really made a splash these being the S it's a little bit more sporty one still a two liter turbo four-cylinder I believe Quattro all-wheel drive system so it was great for all weather driving this one a convertible really fun car and very unique styling again kind of that turtle look in my mind where it just kind of goes around and in some ways it kind of almost emulates the original design of a Volkswagen Beetle that had been originally put on paper way back in the 1930s but very unique and sold very well one thing to keep in mind is we're in Nevada Las Vegas and if this car is local it would likely be a very dry example so if you're from the Rust Belt buy something that's from Las Vegas Nevada and you're going to get a nice crisp rust free cars yeah but I would still want the all-wheel drive here in Vegas go do some Canyon carving that kind of stuff dropping the top as well they're very well insulated on these a lot of people say you want the hard top convertibles you have all-weather driving but they were doing such a good job engineering these soft tops that they are well almost as quiet as the hard tops and better in a few ways larger trunk space one interesting styling detail is the fact these have four exhaust tips dual exhaust on each side of the car but the engine is an inline four why would you need two exhaust tracks well you don't really but you need them to sell cars and you know then is now dual exhaust implies power and it also can have an impact on the exhaust note but again dual exhaust even though it's an inline four I like it so where does the name TT come from well as a race the Isle of Man TT officially stands for The Tourist Trophy and the idea was to take what is a well-known race in Europe and add a little flare to the Audi brand [Music] don't know [Music] a mark of a higher quality convertible against a glass back light you see it right here complete with defroster lines baked in you know cheaper cars like an old Mustang convertible would have a plastic glass but again generally speaking in Prestige Cars you'll look at the glass [Music] they made a very high performance of these at ttrs which was knocked on the door of the Audi R8 The Mid Engine V10 or v8 car for a fraction of the price and you can tune them up these things are very tunable when it comes to Performance as well so you know you get the engine in the front so you do lose that exoticness as compared to the R8 but a Big Bargain in comparison only twelve thousand dollars just sold there it goes so that gentleman right there up here in The Auction Block it's a 2009 Audi TT convertible that meteor gray Pearl let's check in with April Rose to me this is by far the best place to be hands down at Bear Jackson in the pre-saging lanes all these cars are rolling up about to go across the block like this 1994 Camaro Z28 and this is the fourth generation they went until about 2000 well they went until 2002 and the early ones they had this inset sort of cat eye look that I just love it's got a 5.7 liter eight cylinder engine giving you 275 horsepower automatic transmission just a really cool style with the red and black is it that kind of fighter jet Top Gun look with all glass along the roof lots of aerodynamics went into this body just very sleek and streamlined now Rick I gotta tell you I had one of these not the Z28 but I did get pulled over all the time because it just looks really fast standing still I'm sure that's exactly what the reason was it'll be up on the Block before too long can't go wrong with the red Camaro from that era 1923 Ford Model T Roadster well this is the car that put America on Wheels you know 1909 to 1927. here it is uh the Model T very simple brakes only on the rear wheels we see these are Contracting brakes no brakes on the front and again at this point in time the national speed limit wasn't even at well it was a thing I think 10 miles an hour in towns but you might be going 40 miles an hour at most he didn't really need a lot of breaks but this is the car that put America on Wheels yes April would have a really hard time getting a speeding ticket in this thing of course the lawn mowers having more power nowadays the other thing uh driving cars as far as the way the setups the instruments uh the pedals and all that stuff wasn't standardized so the driver of this Model T here volunteer doing a great job in this car across the block with all the hand controls but very different from the Cars we are used to today when it comes to the Driving Experience yeah you're controlling the throttle up on the wheel it's not a pedal down below but think about this this is a 1923 Model T 100 years old a hundred years of automotive design from this car right here now this car came out in 1908 essentially unchanged all through that range but a hundred years ago this rolled off the Ford factory line and this one does have the hand starter there was an optional electric starter which I think this one has but here's the irony Charles Kettering from Detroit or Dayton engineering Labs Delco was the inventor of the electric starter and yes Ford eventually used them but it was mostly a General Motors invention if you will but hand crank or electric you choose fifteen thousand dollars the final bid for that 1923 Ford Model T all right we'll show you cars coming up in just a little bit a 1973 Plymouth Duster it's got a 318 cubic inch V8 four-speed manual transmission and a big Holley carburetor [Music] thank you [Music] back here at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas this is a big beautiful town and well we got great big beautiful cars here that will all be crossing the block over the courts over the next three days every single one of them selling at no Reserve like this 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon Westphalia well you might call this a second generation of Volkswagen bus still has rear engine but it's liquid cooled and the Vanagon means it has a conversion for a camper top fiberglass top it pops up and you can actually live in this if you choose to again rear wheel rear engine but again more modern than the first generation Volkswagen Microbus you figure that first generation micro boss had really come out you know more than three decades before this one hit although you think about it at this point with that two liter engine they still were only producing 83 horsepower which is not a lot of power to pull around whatever you're camping with in this West Valley Edition 14 500 for a 1985 Vanagon Westphalia foreign dune buggies Myers Bank style but uh how about a 1965 Volkswagen it's a custom Baja Beetle well I saw a lot of these growing up before somebody doing the Baja style to a classic Volkswagen Beetle but you're seeing less and less of them nowadays of course they sold the kits where you could remove the fenders and have that baja style front up with the so you could fit the big tires the headlights go into the middle of the car you cut the hood of course and secure it in whatever way you want and in the back most of them including this one there's nothing covering up the engine nice cutaway at the suspension and how it works with the transverse torsion bars again very adapted to off-roading these two little things as torsion bars going across it bounces up and down you get about a half a quarter more of travel but again fiberglass goodies added on to the steel shell well the great thing about this versus a traditional dune buggy the Myers Bank style is you essentially taking a full-size Volkswagen Beetle and making it into an off-roader you know just taking off the front taking off the rear adding the fenders instead of having to chop a chassis or remove the full body much easier to make this conversion to your point Rick to make it average uh dune buggy you took a foot out of the wheelbase which means cutting a foot out welding it back together but again with this you just work with what you already have well not notorious but here are the swing axles right here notice the camber on the rear tire it's a lot of what we call positive camera the top of the tire tips out but again those swing axles when the engine goes up and down they tend to uh change camber it got Core bear in trouble with a heavier engine not so fast here but the Super Beetle got away from that with an articulated Double U joint that's the swing axle setup right there well they have that single exhaust Outlet going out a few feet past the motor that definitely would trip a few people I imagine the parking lot if they weren't looking down also see it's missing its rear glass they put sort of a grape in there and uh no rear seating they didn't want passengers and said a Subway first so they could uh crank their Tunes well I can tell you what this is getting attention in the room this is currently bid if it sells at this price as the number two sale of the day so far the only thing that's beaded is thirty thousand dollars for a 1966 Austin princess limousine it's now tied it's exceeded this is the number one sale I would not have guessed that well most of these Baja buggies like I said are on the road anymore people bought them they chopped them they drove them off-road rusted them apart and they're gone so this one survived it's been modernized a little bit but it's certainly in the spirit of those 70s and 80s kids it's very cool we're not done we're thirty four thousand dollars another countries well they backed it up just a notch 33 500 for a 1965 VW Baja Beetle to that gentleman right there congratulations a new number one sale of the day all right we've got some great collections here at this auction in Las Vegas and one of the best is the Boyd collection so here's Mike Joy with a preview the Boyd's from Henderson North Carolina specialize in original and restored to original cars here's the ones they're selling today only 21 000 actual miles on this beautiful 55 Chevy ever seen a Mercury Bobcat villager well here it is it's a cousin of the Ford Pinto Squire only 2100 were built now here's a nice Marina blue Corvette convertible this one's had a replacement engine so you might have a little bit of a bargain on this one not so this one this is the anniversary Corvette and two-tone silver and gray only 21 000 actual miles but here I think is the Jewel of the Boyd cars for today red over oyster this Corvette has only 5500 actual miles on the clock thank you Scott doesn't that look Factory showroom fresh and we end right here with this Chevy Bel Air This one is a 1954 91 000 Survivor miles gorgeous cars all from a great collection yeah it's those low mileage things that really get everybody's attention no my low mileage cars and the void collection has plenty of them a little while ago we told the story of how the styling chains and the technology chain it's been Cadillac during the 40s well this is a 1947 Cadillac series 62 Club Coupe yeah also known as a torpedo back a lot of folks think that the Fastback stunning arrived with the Mustang the charge of the Marlin in the 1960s not so fast GM was selling these things in the early 40s and again torpedo back but what a beautiful graceful style that is yes I agree and of course it's a holdover from before World War II and basically shut down production styling everything went to war production so when they came back and started making cars again in the mid-1940s they were definitely behind on the times but so was the rest of the world but of course GM was doing better than say anyone in Europe where they were set back a lot with their factories all bombed out and everything else but this is the final year or the final two years of that flat head V8 I believe 48 was the last year I love the uh the way that the two-tone of the body is reflected by the cut line of the deck lid and here we have the body camera of course you open this up up in the whole tail opens the original spare tire the Jack all that's still there nice and original 1947 cattle and don't forget to watch our live coverage of Barrett Jackson on Saturday which begins at 3 P.M eastern time it'll be on the History Channel or whether you're a true history buff or you tune in for just episodes of your favorite series the history store is your One-Stop shop for exclusive and official history gear shop now at history.com and you'll get to 25 off by using the discount code history 25. now that's valid through June 24th at midnight Pacific Time terms and conditions apply but great chance to buy cool stuff and get a fun discount all right we just saw the 1947 Cadillac go across this is the 1941 Edition that was the sporty more personal car this is the more uh official if you will family car maybe executive but the more formal roof the four-door body the same 347 cubic inch flathead V8 under the hood and it's next to a factory 1941. 42 they made him right until about January and of course they stopped because of World War II but we noticed here in 1941 even a vestigial Tail fan but that rear tail light lens is made of glass as it would be until about 1949 glass not plastic series 62 sedan same flathead V8 under here and 41 and you can see the styling difference not that different between 41 and 47 when at the time dramatic changes were happening pretty much every year but once again because of the War uh a big gap in age but uh as far as the look not much different yeah but this was a huge step forward over the 1940 the 1940 model was really just kind of the continuation of that 1930s styling that 1930s technology if you want to call it that 1941 a big leap forward for Cadillac these engines were actually used in a variety of military vehicles I believe certain versions of light tanks used three or four of these Cadillac V8s and ranged in a sort of a radial effects so again this engine was very successful at war end at Play we've got a bitter on the floor we've got a bit over the internet you have the camera inside right now you can see the faux finish they were doing that in the 1940s on the dashboard really cool art deco Dash love these things nine thousand five hundred dollars the final price for a 1941 Cadillac series 62 sedan all right from 1941 We're Gonna Roll the clock forward to 1999 and the Dodge Ram this is a 2500 custom pickup well I'm from Kansas and if you pull up in one of these old Cummins you are the bell of the ball right here this body style of course iconic I think one of the best looking ones this one is the updated though the 24 valve Cummins they had the 12 valve in the early 90s and before this one was a 24 battle they're trying to give an even more performance but this one obviously customized lifted four-wheel drive but I believe this is a factory color I think this is the original color if it's been repainted it's it's gorgeous but I think it's an original color option yeah you know the Cummins turbo diesel engine arrived in the late 1980s and had been available for about 10 years by the time this 1999 was built new and you know it really spurred Ford and General Motors to step up their diesel game and stop using Automotive diesels have been upgraded to uh to gas engines to diesels but again the Cummins diesel was a tough engine and the first of many serious diesel engines which we all of course have now thousand foot pounds but the beginning was right here Cummins well a lot of people where I'm from they won't give these up because it's that simple mechanical fuel injection there's no diesel exhaust fluid to put in to make them more efficient emissions wise a lot of them now have EGR issues where they'll clog up the motors as far as bringing this back in the engine trying to make it cleaner but it gets everything all carbon and gunked up so they can't go for millions of miles the newer ones like they can these they're pretty much Invincible the only thing is rust that can really start eating these things up but otherwise the drivetrain's pretty much invincible and to your point the consigner says that this car has lived its entire life in Arizona and California out west relatively dry probably not a lot of rust underneath so it's got an advantage there I do a little thing called the YouTube junkyard crawl my series and everything I find in New England is from 1999 is crunchy and rotted away but here we can see the original plating on the backing plates of the discs and this is a nice crisp Rusty example from Arizona that's what you're doing fourteen thousand dollars big lift kit 22 inch custom wheels and away it goes all right coming up Saturday we got one very special car that is going to cross the block and Greg Jackson's here to give you a quick preview [Music] we have a 2021 Ferrari sf90 this is Lot number seven 41 this 2021 sf90 is a groundbreaking hybrid Supercar that represents Ferrari's leap into the future of automotive performance blending a twin turbocharged V8 engine with three electric motors the sf-90 delivers an impressive total output of 986 horsepower making it the most powerful production Ferrari ever made this Hybrid drivetrain enables lightning acceleration propelling the sf90 from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds I love the beauty of this car it has little carbon fiber accents on the outside you have the carbon ceramic brakes with a little over 4070 actual miles the best part this sf90 is selling at no Reserve [Music] yeah and that's just one of these mini spectacular cars that you'll see crossing the block on Super Saturday here at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas a little while ago Tyler Huber previewed this 1990 Bentley Turbo R and it's now up Center Stage yes amazing 6.75 liter V8 with a giant turbo mineral oil suspension so it's rides like a cloud amazing popular interior and of course that Regal body style where you look like a baller this time on a big budget I said 200 000 new well now we're only at 10 000 here 20 something years later 30 years later you know and I just ran the number just for the fun of it two hundred thousand dollars in 1990 177 000 today essentially a half million dollar car in its day I would be stepping down the pit right now but I have been there and done that with this car really really enjoyed the experience at an 87 Turbo R and they do feel properly quick for a car this massive and heavy it really gets up and close you can feel that turbo wonderful Driving Experience what a bargain thousand dollars for a 1990 Bentley Turbo R congratulations to those folks good Applause we're gonna take a quick break we will come back to the bear attacks and collector Car Auction Las Vegas Edition [Music] what flavor Mustang do you like we got them all here at Barrett-Jackson up on the block now a 1992 Bronco custom SUV well look carefully because a lot of changes have been made here to accommodate these big huge on off-road tires the fenders in the back have been blistered with some pop-on body panels and the front fenders are fiberglass this has a 3.9 liter Cummins turbo diesel five-speed manual transmission those are 35 inch General Grabbers fiberglass Hood as well special front and rear bumpers and ready to go on or off-roading as you choose [Music] no shortage of changes once again from the engine all the way to the uh big huge massive tires and wheels that are on there and we have no shortage of custom Broncos here this week and in fact it seemed like custom Broncos and sometimes do better than the regular Broncos so we've seen a couple already crossed the block this one has three rows of seating so plenty of room for the kids and back it also Rick has 234 Thousand Miles showing on the odometer and the question is at what point did somebody go that old engine we need to get rid of that let's put a Cummins diesel into this because I'm going to guess that this engine didn't have all those 200 000 miles on it now this has been refurbished from top to bottom it's uh it may have that many miles on the odometer but it's not they're not showing that much wear every place else fifteen thousand five hundred dollars makes it into our top ten of the day at least so far for this 1992 Bronco custom with a 3.9 liter Cummins turbo diesel engine let's check in with April Rose hey Rick I'm just hanging out with this 1978 Corvette now they say a lot of things are iconic but I don't know if anything's more iconic than this color this is called red core vet and it's a factory color now 78 was the 25th anniversary they all got this 25th anniversary badging on the front and the back as well now this being the C3 or the third generation it's actually the longest running generation 15 years of this body but 78 is special with the new rear glass there's more than three times larger than before just better visibility overall you also feel less claustrophobic from inside now this one has the lm2 three-speed automatic I just love the look of the C3 with a fan vendors curving and the body line sloping to a point up front there I mean Rick I go between the C1 being my favorite then the C2 then I see the C3 it's just so hard to pick a generation what do you like you know what I like them all I love the C5 for example the C4 which is a much cleaner shape and of course who couldn't love the modern C8 the mid-engine version really it just boils down to pick one on any given day it's a beautiful car up on the block now we've got a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited well this one with a little customization it's a 3.6 Liter V6 four-speed automatic transmission has the plastic Angry Birds uh looking Grill and a bit of tread plate in a whole lot of places and I think I'm seeing 142 000 miles on the clock but the body on this presents as a much newer looking car so this one has been well kept yeah once again there's no shortage of people who are willing to do the modern modifications or major modifications and this is pretty minor in comparison to some of the ones we see crossing the block at Barrett Jackson [Music] to my mind I like that the third brake light is kind of the Jeep emblem the seven slat Grill and headlights uh used for a third brake line that's a cute touch not sure if that's Factory or not but I like it no shortage of aftermarket parts that will make your Jeep a little more fun or a lot more fun eighteen thousand dollars for that 2016 Jeep Wrangler let's check in with Murph thank you very much Rick what if I told you I'd found a truck that is masquerading as a fighter jet well this is lot 189 it's a 2001 Ford F-150 Lightning custom Coupe and it is beautiful this one well it's been painted by artistic Mayhem and a fighter jet color and for those Aviation historians you may recognize the yellow stripe here that is the f-86 the machine guns up the top here absolutely beautiful beautiful job now this one well it is powered by a 5.4 liter V8 supercharged to deliver 380 horsepower it's been lowered with 20 inch wheels it's a one owner car and the current gentleman who was driving it tells me his motherboard which I cannot imagine what he was doing in this car it's just a great story but it also has some other provenance this one is signed by fast Jack Beckham he was a 2012 NHRA Nitro funny car Champion he's also the driver of the infinite hero nhr fan uh funny car I should say and there's an infinite hero tie in here the owner is actually going to donate 100 of proceeds of this one owner vehicle to infinite hero Foundation they do wonderful things for many many veteran causes a super cool car fighter jet car going across the block all for a wonderful course all right look forward to that thank you Murph appreciate it enough of the block now a 2002 Thunderbird convertible one of the Retro styled cars of the turn of the century with a lot of 55 to 57 styling touches uh including the porthole hardtop here seen in white although the car is black with red and black upholstery these cars were interesting when they came to Market because all they lacked were the tremendous total performance of the early baby birds and yet a lot of these found very receptive homes as somebody's second or third or occasional cars the nice thing about this one Rick only 36 000 actual miles it's a 2002 which was the beginning the first year for this retro Thunderbird they've taken a five-year Hiatus and they came back 13 000 the hammer price for a 2002 Thunderbird the well I guess technically it was probably like the 11th generation and this one finally came around 1994 Chevy Camaro Z28 I think this is the one that April previewed as well well the Z28 began in 1967 as an option to homologate the Camaro for the scca Trans Am racing series the name Z28 continued on and on through the generations so here we are in the second year of this styling cycle now the engine block actually extends to back here this is pretty much a front mid-engine car this one with the t-tops and the black basket handle red over black automatic transmission AM FM really nice supportive bucket seats so here we are at the end of the malaise era Rick where horsepower certainly uh was about third after emissions and safety in the minds of automakers in Detroit but although this didn't have all the horsepower you might wish for these were among the very best handling cars of their era yeah and even though it was the end of the malays era if you grew up during this generation you were lusting after the Trans Ams you were lusting after the Camaros it had cool styling in its day A nice aerodynamic look and you know it definitely was it's the car to help bring you out of the poor performance range [Music] now this one's in great shape and it's under 22 000 actual miles remember when these are new on the dealership these are future collector cars right here to the point we were talking about with performance when this came out it had finally bumped up to 275 horsepower for this Edition you got the base Camaro you're down like 160. but 275 in this era was pretty decent power and mainly a two-seater yes there is a vestigial Back Seat but these are hatchback cars so they are very commodious for hauling lots of stuff if you wanted a high performance car and it had to be your only car this was one of the better choices in 1994. I just sold here at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas for 14 000 for a 1994 Camaro Z28 we're going to take a break here in Las Vegas but we will come back because there are so many cars yet to cross the block all kinds of great stuff you're not going to want to miss a minute [Music] foreign just moments ago we got a new top seller here in Las Vegas it was a 2005 Bentley Continental GT 552 horsepower coming out of that six liter engine 41 000 miles on the odometer hammered sold at 50 000 easily our number one seller of the day over the block now how about a dune buggy Bank style for 1970. well you take your old Volkswagen Beetle you throw the body away you use the pan the steering and the suspension the engine and the drivetrain and you put a fiberglass body on it and then you've got a performance vehicle because it weighs just about half what the original did open air driving and tons of summer fun for sixteen thousand dollars a lot of fun for sixteen thousand dollars you know one of the cool things about being at Bear Jackson is walking around and looking at the cars and if you're ever going to do that the two perfect guys to do it with are Tyler Hoover and Steve manyante so we're going to give you the chance to do just that well I don't know about me but Steve and yante basically I don't have to Google anything if I walk with him to go look at the cars but we are very far from doing a junkyard crawl we're doing a walk here and we stopped first with the Steve McQueen bullet car of course this is a recreation of it but uh are you more Steve team a Mustang or team Chargers I cried when they crashed the Mustangs and when that Charger RT goes up into the gas station you can see the Dana 60 rear axle hanging out and the fireball oh broke my heart yeah for sure but uh of course your expertise Mopars and these are two beautiful ones the options here uh Sunburst orange or burnt orange I believe metallic and of course the panther pink too wild colors different Motors too right they are this one here is a 383 that's a 440 but you know the beautiful thing is how the new Challenger takes this style and brings it into the 21st century you vote some Challengers The Late Model LCS a few yes driven a few I actually rented one in Vegas the Hellcat a great car haven't had much experience with these vintage Challengers though I have I've owned a K5 Blazer once done some wild things with that this one much cleaner than what I had actually this is a GMC Jimmy so the GMC version of the K5 really clean too I gotta say I've been around a while and I was born a long time ago these were just used vehicles but now they're blue chip and I understand I sort of think that the collector car Spotlight eventually everything comes under it and has its day and I'm glad I'm glad for that rather than junking them or throwing away people love these cars no matter what they are yeah well of course here's the mid-engine Corvette which uh at the last auction we saw the first e-ray the first hybrid all-wheel drive Corvette sell for a record over a million dollars and what a moment that was huh yeah Corvettes are amazing I mean they've always been sort of the tour de force of General Motors engineering and man what a car that is they'll take on Ferrari Lamborghini at Le Mans Etc and kick their butts just saying yeah this is pretty wild too another mid-engine here of course a Ford engine in the back with the day Tomaso Pantera and the Beautiful gear styling that's a little wide body styling here with treatment there yeah a little Kunta action going on the tail some Lamborghini meets De Tomaso if you will but again a lot of folks forget that you know the Corvette the C8 is a mid-engine car but so too was the De Tomaso Panter and the magusta before it so it's a great way to build a car put the engine in the middle like this Ferrari yes yes beautiful V8 Ferrari 360. I I actually got to drive one of these in California as a rental one of my first exotic driving experiences and it was amazing these are great cars pretty simple to maintain compared to the older Ferraris as well but then we end here this Bentley somebody made it into a crazy custom race car I know you're launching Exotics but look at this custom build it's uh you have to say they're it's a V8 muscle car all-wheel drive on these things even a V12 or W12 right yeah yeah well it's a lot of fun to hang out with you but I know you have some work to do back in the blocks yeah see ya thanks Tyler well I'll tell you what I've walked around with manyante at the auction and that is literally exactly what it's like because you walk around and he is just spewing out all kinds of great information it's really fun to do that with both of them actually everybody's got great information there's a reason that they're a part of our team 2008 Mercedes-Benz SL550 Roadster well I said you're going to see a lot of these and this one has 78 000 miles on it it has the AMG styling uh where the grill slopes this way instead of that way a little more purposeful and note this this is solid it is not open uh like you usually see the Mercedes three-pointed star that's because this car has distronic an early form of radar following so it'll apply the brakes if you get too close to the car in front of you uh the AMG styling apron on the rear but no AMG badging and no AMG Wheels which is a little curious because they were part of the package black over black uh 70 some Thousand Miles car that's been well enjoyed but ready for its next adventure yeah 382 thousand dollars I'm gonna guess when this was brand new the price tag was a lot closer to a hundred thousand dollars compared to the 17 500 that's bid you know with that active control suspension it's a very very sophisticated car in 2008. it was Rick 382 horsepower seven-speed automatic transmission from that twin cam V8 the folding hard top uh that stores exactly flat the luxury touring car of Beverly Hills and every other upscale neighborhood in America okay what 17 500 for a car that cost a hundred thousand brand new and will still get a lot of attention on the Block yes car has a clean Carfax and has it's been it's probably if it's 78 on the clock now it's probably got oh another 20 30 years to roll okay eighteen thousand dollars for a 2008 Mercedes-Benz SL550 Roadster with that 5.5 liter V8 and 382 horsepower here in Las Vegas inside the West Hall the Las Vegas Convention Center plenty of cars all sitting there hoods up you can check out the engine look underneath it's once again it's a great car show if all you want to do is go run and look at cars it's a wonderful opportunity if you're interested in buying something well there's a great chance you can look around find exactly what you're looking for and one gets up on the Block raise your bidder card and you might come away the winner here in Wind City 1990 Harley Davidson soft tail custom well an interesting build here because it's been this V-Twin has been customized to look like a very old-school bagger with those long Forks of Big Springs up front nicely done sixteen thousand dollars for that 1990 Harley Davidson Softail 1989 Chevy s10 custom pickup truck right behind it this is very cool if you know your Chevy pickup truck iconography you look at the grill you'll see a 350 usually and a half ton or three quarter never on an S10 well this is the S10 with an aftermarket 350 installation aftermarket meaning it's a hot rod and again Chevy never put VH in these things but they're a perfect little home and here's a great example right here I like the Billet tubular Grille I like the blackout trim on the red the air dam for better gas mileage and those cast Sports style wheels from Vision a very sharp there the biggest uh engine call out this ever would have worn stock is 4.3 the 4.3 liter V6 that was really it was three quarters of a small block 350 V8 with two cylinders chopped off again remember the S10 arrived in 1982 was sold side by side with the Isuzu based Chevy LUV but again the S10 was America's first American built compact pickup to basically take on Nissan Toyota love and of course these would have begets competitors from Ford and of course the Dodge Dakota which was a mid-size pickup at a very historically significant pickup truck right here with a V8 punch now when this was new Chevys corporate colors were red and black the red bow tie that you saw in a lot of high performance Chevrolets so this fits that bill very nicely and at fifteen thousand dollars I don't think we're close to the cost of building this truck I will say I have about a 1999 GMC Sonoma with an LS motor under the hood and when you punch it you have a tiger by the tail there is no weight back here so get ready for some oversteer understeer Etc but again a fun little truck and again Chevrolet never offered these with a V8 but why not It Bolts right in note there's a roll pan there instead of a bumper a lot of cute little styling nice styling touches here hiding in plain sight I like this build a lot and Mike when I see this era of S10 what it really reminds me of is the scca truck racing series remember that when they were road racing before NASCAR came up with a big truck series they were running these the mini trucks the S10s this type of thing I think Rick that's where bump drafting was claimed to be invented because boy did they well I'll tell you what solid money for this 27 thousand five the current bid if it ends there that's the number four sale of the day let's see where it can go [Music] where it goes a 27 500 so that gentleman right there we've seen them before and I think we're gonna see him again [Music] here in Las Vegas at the convention center the hoods are open and the engines are on display because we are at Barrett Jackson the world's greatest collector car auction and up on the Block right now we've got a 1973 Plymouth Duster now this is the car we've reviewed just a little while ago yeah the duster of course is an evolution of the Plymouth Valiants and arrived in 1970 a semi Fastback begat the demon in 1971. this one's a G-Code 318 car with a four-speed manual transmission but it has the gold duster decals on the Finish which was a special edition with an Upscale Interior half final top but a nice little hot rod well they've really done a build here they've got an oil cooler behind that license plate recess in the front and looking under the rear bumper we see a fuel cell so someone no roll cage but somebody intended to do a bunch of racing uh with this one it has the 318 board 60 over with a four-speed manual big Holly four barrel on an Edelbrock intake eight and three quarter posi rear end with 355 five gears aluminum radiator custom exhaust and headers and a center Force clutch so this one's ready to go Steve quarter mile at a time yeah the disc brakes all the way around are also an upgrade and I don't see the original small bolt pattern wheels these would have been born with a five on four inch pattern this has been upgraded through five on four and a half by way of those aftermarket disc brakes [Music] yeah the great thing is all the work that's been done this to this so it's taken you know what was a nice fun car and taking it to that next level as as Mike was describing all those things and I love the fact it's got that modern aluminum radiator and fans you know it's got those headers everything has been done to give this more power and more drivability at the same time there's that fuel cell that Mike Troy referenced at the bottom here's the sump and of course the beauty of this is that acceleration causes the gassing in The Surge right into the pickup and right into the line and up to the edge where the fuel pump pulls it to the carburetor [Music] go wing on the deck lid which was an accessory on 340 cars and 7172 area [Music] and of course this is 1973 you know I mean it's the end of the muscle car era essentially but what they've done is they've taken it taken a fun muscle car at the end of that era and added the muscle that it needed that's right Rick the duster went away after 1975 replaced by the Plymouth Volare I believe they sold some dusters in 76 but the Volare would replace this as Chrysler corporation's mid-size offering not surprisingly we don't see a lot of Volaris here at Barrett Jackson 24 000 for a 1974 Plymouth Duster as I mentioned we've seen that guy a few times and the Summit Racing Soul sticker goes on and away it goes for twenty four thousand dollars 1954 and up on the Block this is the first of the vehicles we will see from the Boyd collection all right so uh this one has been repainted it's a 91 000 mile car but restored to all original look at the patina of the bumper of the stainless trim of the Gun Sight style hood ornament Brandon Boyd told me they tried to get a replacement bumper for this car was going to be almost four thousand dollars so they demurred now the interior of this car is just gorgeous this car is Baffin green over Willow Green and before we put that card inside let's have a look at the interior which has been redone that is new interior and carpet now I say this car has been repainted how can you tell often the answer is in the door jambs see this Striker plate here and the door latch you can see some overspray there these would normally be bare metal uh but here they have been painted and that's the sign of the repaint that said this car is in in gorgeous condition for being darn near as old as I am pretty sharp something important under the hood from 1932 until 1952 Buick is all about big straight eight engines well for 1953 the fireball nailhead V8 would arrive here in its second year this car does have the fireball V8 and this is a special which is to say it's not one of the more upscale Road Masters so we only see three ventaports in the front fender the upscale cars we have four some people call them portholes but again 1949 first year for the ventaports we see him in the front fenders and again three means of mid-price car four means the more expensive vehicle well I'll tell you what getting love in the room it's now the number two sale of the day still moving that's the question [Music] automatic transmission to go with that fireball eight plenty of room for the whole family 1954 Buick Super sedan 37 000 and once again that gentleman's been a busy bidder here at Barrett Jackson and he gets the privilege of taking this 1954 Buick Sedan away on the number two sale of the day all right check this out coming up before too long a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle it's got a 1300 cc four-cylinder engine and of course a four-speed transmission but the good times role in the world-renowned destination of New Orleans for the inaugural Barrett-Jackson Auction September 28th through 30th we're bringing all the high octane action energy and entertainment to consign visit farrahjackson.com today and add your vehicle to this year's incredible lineup [Music] Barrett-Jackson world's greatest collector car auctions here in Las Vegas at the staging Lanes where all the cars come just before they get up to the auction block that Volkswagen we previewed just a few moments ago no matter whether you want luxury sports it's all sitting out there right now [Music] in this 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 just sold here at Barrett Jackson in a way it goes into the arena 1992 Camaro Z28 up on the Block oh a great car again these are starting to heat up this one is a two-port injected 305 manual 5-speed transmission this is the one you want very clean and unmodified example and that is a pretty rare combination given this is the final year of the third generation uh Camaro fourth generation to come for 1993 color matched Wheels I'm not sure if that was Factory it was for a couple of years add-on rocker panel extension for aerodynamics but I think the big draw here are those letters Z28 and the five-speed transmission debuted in 1982 a full decade before this there were really a revelation a downsized vehicle about 700 pounds lighter than a 1981 second generation Camaro these were really excellent handle cars they never got the big block but the 350 was certainly a possibility but only with an automatic so if you wanted a five-speed stick this 305 was the the best one to have but again the only thing that holds this back is the odometer 101 000 miles on this 92 Z28 here we go the only thing better than this would be a 1LE of course which was the road racing special a quick way to tell those is they no longer have the road lights in the front the little fog lights one LEDs would have bare openings right here but again uh one Le would be the royal team but still this these are coming on strong and I get it people like these cars one other big Advance with this third generation of Camaro is that huge back window is also a hatchback the first and second generation Camaros had very small trunks which got a whole lot smaller once you stuck the spare tire uh Jack and wrench inside so this with a hatchback much more useful car for all purposes than a gen14 gen 2. Neptune port injection logo on the left-hand side right there references the intake manifold which has long ports for Mid to low RPM torque not high RPM Power but again these are a good torque of little engines and they run really well not a lot better than the 140 horsepower base motor that you could get with one of these back in those days 10 500 for a 1992 Camaro Z V8s well if you're a racing fans you will want to check out racing with giants Porsche at Le Mans now it's narrated by Patrick Dempsey and racing with giants features some archival footage with first-hand interviews of Le Mans winners Jack e x Derrick Bell Alan mcnish and some others racing with giants poor [ __ ] Le Mans premieres this Saturday June 24th noon eastern time only on the History Channel I've seen it and if you're a fan of them all racing it is great to watch going through the history of Lavon Porsche up on the Block right now a 2004 Thunderbird Pacific Coast Roadster well the Thunderbird came back with this retro style strictly a two-seater like the baby boot of bird of 1955 six and seven and yes V8 powered I love how they even paid into the hood scoop of the original bird with that doesn't do anything and at least there's a V8 under the hood and it's got rear-wheel drive so they made one thousand of this Pacific Coast Roadster Edition a Monterey Mist green and an ash metallic hardtop and light Ash or light gray convertible soft top light and dark gray interior for this special edition Thunderbird 16 spoke wheels pretty sharp and this one has only covered 46 000 miles little porthole in the hard top again as a throwback to the 56 and seven baby birds and you know smartest out card they actually the only downside the thing that would make these cars as popular as they could have been no manual transmission no supercharger no Macho version but again V8 power plenty to go down the road with now note that emblem of the Thunderbird words wings that light blue or Aqua turquoise is exactly as it was in 1955 6n7 just another of the Retro touches brought back and no matter the exterior color the Thunderbird looked just like that yeah and I think ultimately they did a good job with it it just wasn't the right car at the right time for a variety of reasons it just kind of fell flat our top consigners buy with confidence you could this wouldn't even be sales tax and license on anything could go by today buy a collector car drive it enjoy it come back next year at Barrett-Jackson and you'll probably be surprised what happens when you run across the block a year from now I'm with Steve Davis on this one I have never seen a Pacific Coast Roadster edition of this and the Monterey Mist green and the light Ash hardtop I think great combination on this car [Music] fifteen thousand dollars for that 2004 Ford Thunderbird and they're doing high fives up in the sky box they're glad that they came down here and saw that one and once again it is unusual yes we've seen more than a few of these modern retro Styles but nothing like that well let's take a look at what's about to cross the block on our Maguire's on Deck cam in this case it looks like that 2001 Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck that cool paint job by artistic Mayhem 380 horsepower out of that 5.4 liter supercharged engine we'll see that on the Block in just a moment meanwhile we've got a 1978 Corvette L82 it's a great year and a bad year inning the L82 of course was the high performance version of the 350 extra cost here but the first year for the hatchback look of the rear window but again this would not be functional at all until the 1982 model in only on collector edition so again the window is there to tease you but there was no way to get into the back but that was cured on the C4 Corvettes for 1984 where it did become functional that emblem on the nose signifies that this is the 25th anniversary of Corvette production I believe that's the first anniversary they celebrated and have done so every five years thereafter with special badging uh this one with the removable panels roof panels which will Stow in the luggage compartment but no hatchback here not on the regular production Corvette and of course the 25th anniversary badging again on the tail and of course these are often enough overshadowed by the Indy pace car silver and charcoal it's the same here and again they weren't all Indie pace cars an awful lot of Corvettes right just like this year but again no roadsters by this point in time so the only bought a straw you're going to get was this Fastback right here four wheel disc brakes of course optional aluminum wheels on this one here the standard wheel would have been the tried and true steel rally wheel but that was an extra cost item right there first scene in 1973 on a handful of cars and had taken out of production but became a full option by 75 76 77 and eight like we have here optional engine but the automatic transmission so in the eyes of purest lack of a third pedal that clutch pedal being a very modern anti-theft feature most Millennials don't know how to drive a standard shift car so I think the automatic transmission May hold this back a bit you know one detail about that L82 is that Chevrolet built this Engine with four old main caps believe it or not this is not going to hurt them but they're all ready to add at least a special block fourteen thousand five hundred dollars for that Corvette L82 and once again as Steve pointed out not a 25th anniversary edition as we know at the pace car Edition but absolutely a 25th anniversary of the Corvette Edition all right this is car we previewed a truck I should say we previewed a couple times with this cool patriotic themed paint job a 2001 F-150 Lightning custom well of course Ford produced the lightning pickup as their super performance pickup and uh you know did it with the composite bed and the high performance V8 and big wheels and tires but this one as we've explained has been reimagined as an f-86 the P-38 was the first lightning of course I think the f-86 was the original saber jet perhaps back in the Korean War era and you see this one with riveted panels and the cells for the Gun Barrel [Music] great of Air Force Combat 5 all the way back and all of the proceeds of this sale are going to be donated to Veterans groups I think it's fantastic the infinite hero is what this is called Bell Tech lowering Wilwood disc brakes 20-inch wheels and tires and it is a one owner vehicle dedicated to Air Force General James Murray and all proceeds go to the infinite hero Foundation thanks to Steve and Margaret Harcourt the owners of this truck for making that great charity gesture here at Bear Jackson it's where of course lightning was more than just a name the initial lightning was at 351 and a half toner okay by this point in time it was an overhead cam supercharged 5.4 liter V8 with 380 horsepower in a half ton two-wheel drive pickup so these were meant to uh very quick Vehicles not a work truck by any stretch but of course the modern condition of this is the Raptor which has more of an off-road or go anywhere right but these are strictly Street trucks very cool the SVT wrapped bike I love the paint with all the rivets from what the body panels would have been on the plane so this is painted in a couple of different shades of silver and then very brightly clear coated kind of a candy red and blue for the emblems beautifully done there it goes twenty four thousand dollars for the pretty cool F-150 Lightning and the money being donated by the consignor to a good cause so it's very impressive as it rolls away here at Barrett Jackson the 2023 Edition remember we've been doing this up here for 15 years now who knows what we're gonna have across the block and get all our attention in the next few hours [Music] thank you if you come to Las Vegas you'd better be prepared to move plenty of things to see plenty of things to do yeah the strip is always a highlight no matter whether you're in a car or walking there is so much to see here in Las Vegas and especially when Barrett Jackson's in town like this 1941 F1 pickup truck that's up on the Block this is a great 50s hot rodder vibe let's say you've got the all the body done on your pickup and you've got it in Black primer but you're not quite ready to paint it so you'll have the pinstriper come over and add a bit of his Artistry to the truck and that is what's been done here I really love that flat black look at Von Dutch stuffed paint that's absolutely nicely done 14 500 the sales price Barrett deskjackson.com is the place to go to for the entire list of cars that will be crossing the block during the course of this Las Vegas auction great thing is you can also look at cars that have crossed the Block in previous auctions as well let's do a little bit of research [Applause] 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL 500 Roadster well this one in silver over black this also has the AMG front end styling apron the grill has been blacked out and so have the base wheels on this one I do like the red interior with the silver exterior 5.5 liter V8 7-speed automatic and this one has been enjoyed for 81 000 miles thinking these wheels are stock but the blacked out effect is certainly not something from Mercedes-Benz it's a nice Sinister Vibe well at least Steve They Carried that through to the tail lights which have been blacked out and all of the jewelry also carries that theme and they got a silver car yeah that looks pretty appropriate [Music] 302 horsepower enough to get up and go remember this was 2005 pretty solid seven speed shiftable automatic transmission you know it's often forgotten most any car that weighs like say 3 500 pounds with 200 net horsepower will get your attention you know 200 horsepower is a fair amount so 300 is is a bunch foreign car auction this is Barrett Jackson Las Vegas here's our third auction of the year we start off with Scottsdale we went to Palm Beach now we're in Las Vegas and don't forget for the first time we're going to New Orleans later this year wow but that's then let's talk about right now in this 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Roadster up on the Block 300 horsepower silver over red some customization touches blacked out Grill and emblems I like the red interior with this one it's been enjoyed for 81 000 miles has the AMG styling package but the stock uh throwing star wheels painted in Black seventeen thousand dollars the hammer price on a 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL 500 Roadster all right something a little older but uh pretty darn cool in 1999 Bentley Arnage owner and a village near Le Mans France but it's a famed corner on the Seven Mile Road Course where they recently rammed the 24-hour race 4.4 liter twin turbocharged engine five-speed automatic transmission zero to six in what was then a jaw-dropping 6.2 seconds 170 mile per hour top speed and of course as a Bentley just all the luxury you could ask for [Music] complete this one with some very dark tint on the Windows all the way around and again keep in mind this was 1999 so you took your luxury car down to the local wheel shop and you had your stock Factory Alloys chromed if you had a Bentley a Mercedes or one of many other luxury cars just to make yours a little bit more distinctive this one has a couple of very very minor little body imperfections paintless dent removal might be able to take care of those I certainly hope so but that seems to be all that Mars your enjoyment of this beautiful Bentley [Music] fourteen thousand dollars for a Bentley Arnage 4.4 liter twin turbocharged engine thumbs up the guy getting to take that home let's check in with Tyler Hoover here at the end of the line when it comes to the square body Suburban this 1989 Suburban uh pretty much the best of the iteration I believe because of that fuel injected throttle body fuel injection 5.7 liter V8 which got you a lot of reliability but this one well it's converged you can see the giant top up here I mean back in 1989 there was no Cadillac Escalade there was no Denali so if you wanted a luxurious uh Suburban you had to go with the aftermarket or a conversion company and that's what this is take a look inside it looks like a living room out of the 80s with that pillow top leather there the Golden Oak Cabinetry all over in the cages and everything else but because of that high top when you go in the back that's where you have all this room for activities the two buckets which are pretty standard today and luxury cars but and here more Golden Oak can you look up top there's those cabinets there you could have optioned this with a giant well not giant a deep TV a little itty bitty tube TV to put in those cabinets but uh yeah what a goofy reminder of how conversions used to be back in the 80s pretty cool I look forward to seeing that pretty soon meanwhile this is the 1965 Beetle we previewed just a little while ago wow the body on this is done to a very high standard now as we got into the middle 60s the VW Beetle got a larger windshield and a larger a rear window and bigger tail lights a beetle Barn has redone this one aftermarket luggage rack on here hey I was looking at this one earlier I absolutely love this build 1965 a really important year for Volkswagen Beetles I think somebody got themselves a good deal for that eighteen thousand dollar 1965 beetle [Music] back here in Las Vegas you know the great thing is while it can get a little warm outside in June in Las Vegas all the cars are inside the convention center you can walk around enjoy yourself weather's been a little milder than we had a couple years ago it was pretty scorching here but right now inside here oh it's nice and cool sixteen thousand dollars the current bid for a 1984 Toyota SR5 yeah this one's lightly modified A 2.6 liter stroker kit under the hood but otherwise looking water stock it look at the lift kit but again these are great looking trucks and the beauty of these is that they have a beam front and rear axle which means lifting them a simple matter of either changing the leaf springs or adding lift blocks and we see an awful lot of 1985 Toyota SR5 pickup trucks because that was the one from Back to the Future that Marty McFly drove the big cab version but this is a 1984 the year before and it's not dolled up the way that might bigger cab but boy a strong strong car from its day that 22r engine is practically indestructible and there's that live front axle right there at this point in time Nissan went to Independent front suspension which maybe gave you a better ride but there's a real nightmare to try and lift so these were the Darlings of the uh the import pickup trucks in the 80s for people who wanted to hot bottom up and lift them very easily done well I was talking about the 22r engine that originally came in now it's got a 2.6 liter EFI it's a pro stroker engine package it'll pop out 147 horsepower so it's been nicely modified the way it goes at 19 000 all right now that is pretty pretty pedestrian compared with a car that's going to sell this Saturday it's a movie star car as a matter of fact and Craig Jackson has more we have a movie car this 1972 D tommaso Pantera is from Fast Five the fifth film in the Fast and Furious franchise it was made famous from the iconic train theft scene that included Paul Walker and Vin Diesel the car has been restored back to its movie condition Mike tell us more about it absolutely Craig it's powered by the 351 cubic inch Cleveland engine it's been fitted with an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and a Carter 750 carburetor the engine is bolted to a ZF 5-speed manual transmission it's also been restored to the movie correct brilliant black paint with the white Graphics the owner acquired this car in 2013 from the Universal Studios and then had it cosmetically restored to match outlooked in the movie [Music] tell you what Panteras are cool cars by themselves and that one has a movie car from a great movie franchise I think is going to get a lot of attention 2005 Hummer H2 custom the great thing about the H2 is of course these were made for civilian use and they have a lot more horsepower than the H1 even though they're much smaller this has a V8 engine with 325 horsepower again these are not armored or capable of being used for military application and they sure look the part yeah they do have that industrial military look to them as you mentioned but not nearly as big they fit into a garage much easier I mean yeah they're still pretty darn large but not quite as big 325 horsepower four-speed automatic transmission it's got full-time four-wheel drive and a leather interior so today you go off-road with it and you can enjoy the luxury at the same time it's just too big for you don't forget the H3 which is sort of a 7 10 scale of the yes which was a 7-10 scale of the H1 so you pick your size as a homie Hummer for you you know it's so interesting because when those went away we thought well that's the end of an era of excess work you know we're never going to see those big beasts ever come back and now the new Hummer EV is out there big huge vehicle with electric power and amazing horsepower one thing you'll see under the back of this one is a live axle made by American Axle not the portal drive and big old tunnel found on the military spec H1 again this is based on Chevy pickup truck underpinning from some areas and again it's a live axle right there nothing wrong with it but again if you are in a war zone that would be a problem going over rocks and other things but again this has the look of a military piece but it's from Main Street USA I'll tell you what per pound not a bad deal fourteen thousand dollars for a 2005 Hummer H2 custom let's check in with Christian Murphy thank you very much Rick I love how cars evoke such fun memories of the past when I was growing up in a small rural town in Australia my best friend's father was English very very English and he had a Rolls-Royce just like this we used to drive around town and people would turn their head around and go what an Earth is going on here well Louis lot 116 it's a 1986 Rolls-Royce Cornish 2 convertible it is absolutely beautiful that paint it is called cinnamon with a dark brown leather interior with cinnamon piping this car is absolutely beautiful it was delivered in Canada but it is fully U.S compliant it's just such a great car now off the mark these are probably not the fastest cars you'll ever drive but 6.8 liter V8 when you get up and going on the highway I just remember sitting in the back with my best friend and thinking this is really great guys what do you think of the Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible I'm just drooling over this thing it is so buttery smooth driving too that mineral oil suspension the engine not powerful like you said but very very smooth and it's such an icon as well really it's a beautiful spirit of ecstasy hood ornament right there and I love being in Vegas so many famous people have owned this like Dean Martin Frank Sinatra Elton John I mean just the list goes on Paul McCartney but you know the famous story was Jaja Gabor when she got pulled over by the police and she actually got arrested you know you're not familiar with it no what'd she do can I can I show you okay all right she goes darling how dare you you could have just told me oh boy you learned the hard way the rule thanks a lot uh April we've all wanted to do that at one point or another oh that 1989 Suburban custom that Tyler previewed just a few moments ago just rolled off the block that was sold in a way it goes all that great work on that 5.7 liter V8 engine but I love the car right behind it a 2007 Ford Shelby GT the uh the 2005 Mustang when it came back really reinvented the Fastback the Retro styling and here it is in its third model year 2007 with the Shelby name reintroduced don't confuse this with the GT500 which was Ultra new for this period which would have had the four valve four cam 5.4 but still a 4-6 300 horsepower engine under the hood of this one here you know it's been great today watching the history of cars just a little while ago we had a 2004 Mustang which was the end of that generation and now we're seeing the 2007 which once again as you point out this body style started just a couple years earlier we've got so many Mustangs here you can really watch the evolution of that car as we go through no gotta say if you like the Dodge Challenger and the Chevy Camaro the modern ones without the success of the 2005 Mustang I don't think the 08 Challenger or 2010 Camaro would have followed you know success follows success and these things are great cars and they re-lit the pony Car Wars of Detroit yeah I tell you what I went out and bought a 2006 Mustang of this generation because the look was so great you know it just really brought back that look of the 1960s styling they did a great job of making it modern with an old touch [ __ ] imagine back in 1988 I think it was Ford almost turned the Mustang into a front-wheel drive car which became the probe but again the Mazda and the the 626 were going to underpin the Mustang and of course there's a right and no please don't do it and Fort listening thankfully kept the fox Mustang going but it almost happened of course we did go through the entire Mustang 2 era which was a uh you know I mean Mustang 2 the thing is really sold very well but when we look at him today we go yeah not quite the performance car we wanted true when the Mustang 2 debuted in 1974 I think 300 000 sold that year so it was the right car at the right time we could get them with a 302 V8 but again the big engines were but it kept the flame lit tell you what not a bad deal twenty thousand dollars for a 2000 Ford Shelby GT and coming up another Mustang and I love this one I was looking at it earlier in 1973 convertible 302 cubic inch V8 engine three-speed Automatic Transition we'll see it pretty soon [Music] back here in Las Vegas those are the staging lanes and all the cars yet to cross the block plenty of American Muscle we got a Corvette we've got a couple of Mustangs some American Iron in the back no shortage of fun Machinery that will be crossing the block here at Barrett Jackson right now the 1955 Chevrolet 210 four-door sedan from the Boyd collection read over Ivory the great GM two-tone six-cylinder automatic at only 21 000 actual miles it has been painted uh the interior looks great what a great car to start a collection with an opportunity [Music] Jackson knows his cars I love that they've named this The Little Old Lady from Pasadena now he she had a super stock Dodge but imagine this is what she started with well this car was sold new in Pasadena California and one way to tell a lot of these cars had three-piece bumpers but California requires one piece bumpers and that's what we see here hey it goes at twenty five thousand dollars and away we go to April Rose Taylor I am in the pre-staging lanes with this very pretty 1973 F250 now back in the day these were the workhorses but this one didn't really work too hard because it's in really good condition nice nut and bolt restoration now it's got a rebuilt 390 with Holly sniper fuel injection four-speed manual four-wheel drive very pretty Frost green two-stage base coat clear coat paint and the truck bed was sprayed with a raptor spray so you can get a lot of use out of it now the interior is all new it actually looks better than when it was brand new I mean you got to keep an eye on these old trucks they're becoming a very big collector in the market trucks here at Barrett-Jackson always do well up on the Block right now a 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque well the evoke is the baby Range Rover before this you would have had the Freelander which was a mechanical disaster when they came back with the entry-level baby Range Rover uh with Land Rover it was actually combined with Ford so under the hood is a two liter turbocharged EcoBoost basically a Ford engine but this is very much British very beautiful styling on these small Range Rovers although this is a Range Rover and of course it Harkens to the Land Rover Heritage these were more Mall finders than they were mountain goats very popular in the in wealthy suburbs and again very compact compact shape and presentation now this one the Carfax shows a damage report in 2012 minor damage the car went off-road and hit a signpost damaging the left front corner we'll see it has been off-road you're talking about this but when they came out with these The Styling it was actually a two-door they offered it as well which was not a very practical setup they didn't sell any of those and then they even came out with an evoke convertible which is even more ridiculous nobody bought those I haven't seen one of the mirrors most of them were sold as this four-door that one goes to those folks right there that 2013 Land Rover Evoque with a summit racing sicker sold sticker goes on and away it goes for 13 500 dollars 1990 Porsche 944 S2 convertible well I like these this is my favorite spec of 944 the S2 this one does have a standard transmission they were offered with automatics I always wondered about the styling of these and their failure to conceal the top stack when the convertible top is down covered by a boot cover it sits way proud of the deck lid this one looks like it's really been squashed down a lot of them sit a little bit higher other than that well obviously an afterthought with Porsche because they did come out as Coupe so engineering it was probably a challenge but they did a great job re-engineering the drivetrain on these with this refresh of the 944 S2 you get the twin cam for sale and that's why they call it the two for the twin cam I look at this car earlier in the weekend and I thought boy this would be a fun edition of the collection and then I saw the odometer in the first digits of one 110 000 miles this one has been well enjoyed well that's not too bad for one of these they are pretty simple to maintain and of course the weight distribution wonderful on these the rear mounted the Transmissions you have the torque tube going up to the pore cylinder so a great balanced car they are very very fun to drive and going to Tyler's point it is 33 years old if you average it out per year and I always go back to as long as it's been driven regularly to achieve that I don't think that's too bad now you know is there a work that's probably going to have to be done yeah but you know that's where you're buying it you're not spending a hundred thousand dollars on a car the current bit 17 000. one improvement with these because I used to have one with this engine I believe it was a timing chain engine there was one little uh guide in between the two cams that you need to watch out but you didn't have to worry about a timing belt like on the older cars seventeen thousand dollars for a 1990 Porsche 944 S2 convertible with that three liter four-cylinder motor we'll be back [Music] first day of the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction not even done yet 58 000 the current bid for a 1973 Mustang convertible yes of course the Mustang was restyled in the early 70s and there was a long time where this body didn't get a lot of love but it certainly is now wow at the end of the line for the big mustang right before the Mustang 260 000 strong money for a 1973 Mustang convertible but to be honest with you Tyler out Tyler was out looking at this earlier I love it I love what they did with this car I was thinking this is a car I'd like to own for a little less money than that so now that that's the number one seller let's take a look at today's top five sellers brought to you by Hagerty with the Mustang in the lead we got a Bentley Continental GT right behind it a Buick how about a Volkswagen Baja Beetle imagine that in our top five right now at 33 500 we've got a 2007 Mustang Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition well that top five of you just really shows the variety of Thursday it's just an incredible fun group of cars to look at and now we got something really cool here with this uh Parnelli Jones edition Steve Celine built the 500 of them as a tribute to the legendary race car now the Jones drove in the 70s did a blueprint of 302 cubic inch V8 you can see that shaker hood there and the colors sign on the dashboard by both of them as well so the color is said to be the color but more used on its Trans Am race cars in which barnally Jones and George Fulmer won the Trans Am championship for Ford in 1970. there was also a Dan Gurney Edition so two of California's most famous race car drivers ever uh immortalized in these special edition Mustangs you don't see these come across the block very often no and you at the very beginning of our broadcast today previewed another Parnelli Jones connection a recreation tribute to the big Oli off-road Bronco and when that crossed the block on Saturday that's going to get a lot of attention but there's no question Parnelli Jones one of the great stars of racing both on track and off center of the dash signed by Steve Celine the car builder and above him carnally Jones I like the wheels on this because they hearken back to the eight-spoke middle light wheels that were used on the Trans Am cars they started with American Racing 200s wheels and then switched to the mini lights mid-season of course that louvered rear glass there or the cover for it Harkens back to the 70s as well if you didn't have air conditioning that kept the Sun out of the back but this one has air conditioning this body style of Mustang did such a great job of throwing back to the Retro styling so when they do it even further like with this Parnelli Jones Edition it looks so good all right Tyler what was the first car to have these slaps over the back window oh I did it's one of your favorites the Lamborghini Miura oh of course that makes sense there it goes 32 thousand dollars for that uh Celine Parnelli Jones Edition now at each bear Jackson auction we pick one year to Spotlight some of the cars from that year and since we're in Las Vegas we decided to pick 1967. why is that well something significance happened that year that everybody remembers this guy right here Evil Knievel decided to Jump The Fountains at Caesar's Palace yeah it didn't end so well but it got everybody's attention put Evil Knievel on the map so let's go back and look at a car from 1967 and Christian Murphy's found one [Music] in the 60s Chevy sold a ton of Impalas they were roomy well made handsome and the Mechanicals were very durable which made them easy to repair by the late 1960s well they were really hitting their stride with the Impala which is why this 1967 Chevy Impala SS convertible well it is a rare and beautiful bird the 1967 model year introduced a number of Firsts four-way Hazard warning flashes GM's energy absorbing steering column and folding front latch seats on the two-door model this Super Sport convertible features a recent paint job of this beautiful blue over a white interior front bench seat well this one is very rare and lots of fun it features a 327 cubic inch V8 turbo fire engine generating 275 horsepower it's mated to a three-speed auto power steering power brakes and a new ragtop only 56 000 miles this is a car you can buy today take out drive tomorrow [Music] well there it is out in the staging lanes and that is one of my favorite body styles from the 1960s the big beautiful Impala and in the convertible boy it just shows off so well this would be a fun car to own fun car to drive around in fun car to take to the auto shows current car is a 2007 Shelby GT custom at 27 000 bit so this car left the factory as a Shelby custom GT Mustang and then went back to Shelby to have the supercharger installed so it's now a Shelby gtsc the SC stands for the belt driven kennebel supercharger yeah initially this would have been the step down from the GT500 you got more or less the stock engine but a lot of the Shelby look suspension brakes this one hopped up a lot though 29 000 makes its way into our top ten with that 67 Shelby GT custom all right we've talked about the Boyd collection we're gonna get a number of them crossing the block right now this one is very special the 1977 it's not a pinto you know you think that this is a Mercury Bobcat villager where have you ever seen another one they made 2100 of these for Mercury dealers so they had something to sell opposite of the Ford Pinto Squire it has the vertical bar Mercury Grill it has the wood grain trim it is just unbelievable the youth like the exterior just wait till you see inside look at this blue plaid that is the factory interior and this car spent 20 years in a museum near Charlotte Motor Speedway uh then went into Morris Boyd's collection 37 000 actual miles on this Bobcat Village Your Wagon well you said when have you ever seen another one I've never seen one period I didn't know this is to be honest with you if it's only a four-cylinder under the hood so not a Powerhouse but of course Mercury there's the Villager that came back later as the van and then the Squire of course the wood paneling but I had never seen a combination like this before it's awesome and you know what I love about this we're at 24 000 bid this was a car in its day that got very little respect and now it's bringing more money than some really impressive names have brought earlier today what a special car the Mercury Bobcat villager Rodney Dangerfield no respect four-cylinder overhead cam three-speed automatic transmission buy it drive it and enjoy it I'll tell you what it just sold over the Internet so it's probably gonna go someplace else 1977 Mercury Bobcat villager wagon when was the last time you saw one of these driving around anywhere with a two point three liter overhead cam V8 three-speed automatic one of the cars in the Boyd collection all right let's take a look at what's about to cross the block on our Maguire's on Deck cam it's this 1973 Corvette convertible three-speed automatic transmission oil let's see this is this is the 1978 I should say it's a 25th anniversary Survivor Edition so that'll be up on the Block very soon I got a little confused because right ahead of it is a 73 Corvette with a three-speed automatic transmission it's Corvette time another one out of the Boyd collection well right at the end of the all chrome bumper Corvettes now this one also has the three-speed hydramatic transmission this was born with an L82 350 V8 something happened along the way and the casting marks on this engine indicate that it's a replacement of 327 but otherwise our convertible top AM FM radio air conditioning love that blue yes I have the Nassau blue at home which isn't too far off of my 66 Corvette I don't know what they called it in 73 but this one the fiberglass looks like it's in great shape there's not much Spiderwick cracking it presents really well even up close which is hard on these older Corvettes with the paint warping on the fiberglass [Music] so that one just sold for thirty thousand dollars now remember that's a 1973 edition of the Corvette it's kind of fun to look at the 1978 that's rolling up right behind it five years difference and look at what they've done from The Styling yes the mako shark body style exists the way it did but have changed the rear end they've changed part of the front they've kind of smoothed it out great styling unfortunately 1978 just didn't have a lot of horsepower now earlier we had one of these and we showed you the 25th anniversary emblem that came on every 78 Corvette this is something very special this is the anniversary edition so you got the two-tone silver and gray you got those great alloy wheels the oyster interior and just 22 000 miles on this one one of 6500 special anniversary edition Corvettes produced in 1978. well the 25th anniversary Right Here and Now Corvette's celebrating the 70th anniversary with the Z06 option pack so we have one of those selling on Saturday 670 horsepower this was back in 78 maybe it was a 200 maybe there's 109. [Music] removable t-tops of course again this is an automatic you could get this car with the four speed and it would be worth more I you know these Summit tires this is an off-brand a discount store brand I'd like to see some good years or BF Goodrich Tires here and I think this car would bring more money because people look at those kind of details as an indication of care of the car how much did you care how much did you want to invest when you had to replace those but they're easy to take off and replace and the next owner may do just that now one thing I would always check too that doesn't work that's one thing where a lot of people will not check to see the power antenna works if they wouldn't bother to fix it unless they cared especially on these older cars they've been sitting a lot the tires the power antenna two little weird things to check I suppose is this way it goes 22 000 for a 1978 Corvette a true 25th anniversary edition just under 22 000 miles don't forget to watch our live coverage of bear Jackson Super Saturday which will begin at 3 P.M eastern time on the History Channel and whether you're a true history buff or you just tune in for episodes of your favorite shows the history store is your One-Stop shop for exclusive and official History Channel gear now you you can shop at historydor.com this weekend and get 25 off you use the discount code history 25. now that's valid through June 24th at midnight Pacific Time terms and conditions apply but it's a great chance to buy fun stuff and get a good deal at the same time all right Corvette number three we just saw a 1978. now it's time for a 1979 an l-82 Survivor underneath that 350 cubic inch L82 V8 engine the three-speed hydromatic transmission you want to buy a brand new Corvette from 1979 how about this one look under hood this car has only 5 500 actual miles and everything about this looks brand new the red over oyster interior is a fairly rare combination that's very rare to be preserved a lot of people would put away the pace cars or the special editions this one being a normal 78 although the L82 really cool to see something preserved as well we were talking about tires earlier I checked the date codes on it they're 2012 tires so they have been replaced even though they could be riding on the original pulse with that low mileage and you wonder what's the story how did it get put away with only 5 000 miles on it remember this was the start of the malays era when horsepower was down handling was great but safety and emissions were the priorities in Detroit to your point Mike the exhaust pipes are almost dead yet they're asking for permission to appear they're not emphasized with chrome tips nothing like that this is also the time when Corvette actually had a single track exhaust both Banks fed into a catalytic converter and then out through dual Muffler so it was actually a single exhaust system dark days indeed the only thing that holds this car back perhaps is the automatic transmission enthusiasts wanted to shift for themselves with the four-speed please twenty seven thousand dollars for that 1979 Corvette L82 with just 5 000 miles on the odometer barrett.jackson.com the place to go to for all of the information you want about the auctions once again it's got the full list of cars it's a great way to look at cars that are going to be coming up through the course of the next couple days and even do research on sales that have happened in the past 1954 Chevy Bel Air up on the Block well very early in the two-door hardtop s of Chevrolets if you know if you window and the back sweep of this rear window something we'd see similar again in the 63 Corvette in the 1958 Impala had the same beautiful roofline I love the two-tone it's not really a two-tone it's a white roof on a red car but the Bel Air call out like the Impala call outs later were also of the contrast in color it's a very honest car 91 000 actual miles restored to as original spec as nice as this car is it's remember 1954 was the Calm before the storm 1955 brought a whole new car and for the first time ever a V8 under the hood of course we'll ignore the 1918 Chevy V8 but with that said the 265 revolutionized Chevy one year away from this car's birth India Ivory over Roman red a 235 cubic inch six cylinder with a three on the tree manual transmission top of the line trim level for this year and it had one owner in Kansas Missouri for over 6 years history this car has enjoyed Mike you might have mentioned this but this is a hard talk in other words when the windows go down there's no there's no feel of a convertible to a degree but again not a sedan this is a hard top it was the most exclusive body style short of a convertible in 1954. the Bellaire name had just come out a few years earlier you know we're so used to talking about it but it didn't even exist until 1950. this was the end of the first generation of the Bel Air car so what is Bel Air it's a very exclusive neighborhood in Los Angeles right alongside Beverly Hills I literally grew up in Bel Air only because my father had a paper route and we would drive around Bel Air all the time I lived a long way from there but we got to go see it every day and as you point out the end of this line but when you think about it this was pretty significant in the early 50s this body style the technology it just got eclipsed by the 55. so your dad delivered fresh prince in Bel Air exactly fresh printed papers twenty four thousand five hundred dollars for a 1954 Chevy Bel Air that came out of the Boyd collection 92 000 original miles we're gonna take a quick break here at Barrett Jackson in Las Vegas just a little over an hour of our coverage here on the first day but don't forget we still have two more days Friday and Saturday after this [Music] foreign Jackson in Las Vegas what do you like you like Camaros how about a Z28 yeah we got those or if you like Mustangs check this one out a 2015. it's a GT 50th Anniversary Fastback well Ford saw how much Chevrolet was getting traction with their anniversary cars so this is the 50th anniversary Mustang celebrating the launch as all the first Mustangs were 1965 models thirty four thousand dollars for that 2015 50th Anniversary Edition well if you'd like to try and sharpen your bidding skills maybe snag a great prize in the process you want to play Fantasy bid brought to you by Dodge and right now April Rose is going to preview one of the cars on which you are going to try to predict the price that's right recognized 94. when Lincoln Continental beautiful two-year restoration I love the look in 64. they sort of have this electric razor style Grille now this is all metal there's no plastic in here this is heavy metal baby you got the quad headlights and stainless steel just running all the way down such an elegant look now the interior has been completely restored great two-tone black and white leather all original gauges I mean you got to love the preserved look of that now it's got its matching numbers 430 V8 automatic transmission and the suspension is all ACC air you can actually control it from your phone it rides on Mob steel wheels with baby moons and of course the best part are the suicide doors I mean if you're in Vegas this is style you want to go down the strip in one of these and everybody is going to be looking at who is driving this I love it well thanks April that Continental will cross the block on Saturday so what you want to do is you want to register right now to play in terms of conditions apply you must be 18 to play visit promo.barrettjacksonfantasybid.com for the official rules who knows you could walk away with a grand prize a 2023 Dodge Charger all right Murph previewed this car a few moments ago 1986 Rolls-Royce Corniche 2 convertible born in Canada rather delivered to Canada when new repainted when 12 years old then kept in preserved in underground car stores its entire life rolls didn't care about the top stack it's up there look at this truffle interior all of the burled wood on the dash the console and the doors the front hydraulic suspension lines were recently replaced 93 000 kilometers that's 58 000 miles on this rolls I always pay attention to engineering on cars of course shoulder belts are mandated in order to get the hard points out of convertible Rolls-Royce came up these towers right here into which the shoulder harness anchors kind of a cool touch thirty six thousand dollars for the spirit of ecstasy in the car that goes with it makes that the number four sale here at Barrett-Jackson on Thursday 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 custom well the S550 was the top of the line the S-Class sedan a number of companies like lorenzer have add-on body kits and so did Brabus this has a Brabus grill a Brabus front valence and the fenders uh have been pulled it's either an add-on or a replacement under to give this a little extra width front and rear triple black is the theme here and it extends to the Barabbas five-spoke three-piece Wheels as well you know I'm amazed really at how far automobiles have come I do a thing called the junkyard crawl on YouTube and in about two days due to a piece on a 240D Mercedes Benz from 1974. how much horsepower that had 67 horsepower the diesel 240D this has about 10 times that the S550 only came to America in the long wheelbase version in the back seat of these for the family this one is a little well it's a little interesting it wears a Brabus Grill in the front and a lorenzer badge on the back so apparently it has some styling enhancements from both of those aftermarket companies uh like maybe this little rear wing above the rear window or the rear spoiler at the back edge of the trunk Lane you know Mike it's kind of interesting it's got heavy tinting on those rear windows and when we took put the camera into the back seat it was very dark inside until we turned on the lights so if you want to get uh you know taken around in privacy not people looking in on you this car you want to make money I think at this price we have reached the price of the body kit and maybe the paint prep so well bought there well there you go sixteen thousand dollars for a 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 custom sedan with all that great work on it well we have some sad news to share with you Brian Rayne the cherished member of the Barrett-Jackson family passed away last month Brian was truly an integral part of the Barrett-Jackson world for more than a decade he survived by his mother his brother two children and two grandchildren our thoughts go out to his entire family Brian will be very dearly missed foreign Jackson auctions you get to know the people you build relationships there's a bond a trust that is formed with people like Rick made perfect all right good to see you good man tell me about this the Challenger wide body what makes it so special we got a challenger wide body here making 717 horsepower 650 foot-pounds of torque on this but we're good right we're good there's trust here yeah we're good yeah I mean I trust you do you trust me I don't know all right Murph you ready for that you are losing it what is that okay now you're being silly Ricks our friendships on the line here Rick don't do it [Music] we're absolutely done I'm not sure I'm gonna be friends with Rick for very much longer foreign medicine before he took that little Adventure 2010 Camaro 2ss custom up on the Block right now well the third of the three-way Detroit Pony car party of course we had the Mustang in o5 the Challenger in 08 and in 2010 right here the very first year for the Camaro and the beauty is the SS came with either an automatic or a six-speed as much as 426 horsepower stock which is a bunch this now has a supercharged engine and 600 horsepower I was going to say 606 horsepower according to the consigner that is a massive jump so Camaro is going to continue through the 2024 model year and there will be a build out final Edition being produced in January of 24 and then if we see the Camaro nameplate again it will likely be on an electric vehicle from Chevrolet so I think these cars they're going to have their time I'd call this a future collectible and the future may not be that far away yeah I think there's absolutely going to be people who appreciate and enjoy they remember the Camaro and they're going to look at the Next Generation which is going to be very different it may even be an SUV you know Chevrolet has been saying the name isn't going to go away we just don't know what it's going to end up on and as we've seen with Ferrari Lamborghini and other exotic Banks once they stopped making stick shift three pedal cars the value of those cars went up and I think a car like this with a manual transmission is going to be an investment yeah the interesting thing you were talking about with the final editions that they're creating I love the fact that they're giving it the panther name which was the original code name the internal code name used for the Camaro I'm sure owners of full-size Crown Vics and Mercury Marauders will dispute the panther terminology but again what's in a name yeah that's interesting that was the code name for that chassis as well as team points out but the panther name was never registered with the automobile manufacturers Association which meant it was fair game anybody could use it because it was never applied to a production car well thirty thousand dollars for that production car with a massive custom engine underneath the hood and 606 horsepower we'll be back [Music] back here in Las Vegas check these cars out these are the cars that will be crossing the block on Saturday that beautiful Corvette Resto mod the Ford GT lightweight Edition that Ferrari just beyond it the sf90 amazing cars that'll be crossing the rock all bringing big big big money you're definitely going to want to be for here for channel coverage on the History Channel and this truck just did well forty one thousand five hundred dollars for a 1982 Ford F-350 custom pickup truck that is now the number three sale of the day here in Las Vegas a little while ago we had a little spotlight to Murphy previewed it and talked about it and now it's up on the Block yeah this is a super sport with the SS in red but a bit of a dichotomy when it comes to the Chevy Chevelle in 67 SS means big block well not so fast on the full-size cars you could get a six cylinder but this one is the 327. we'll have a look at the chassis cam underneath this full-size Chevy here's the underside of that 327 backed up by an automatic boxed frame on convertibles left and right single exhaust on this one interestingly 10 bolt rear axle and again just beautiful body on frame construction knowing how they continued the triple tail light theme of the Impala and uh in 1967 even though it was no longer round tail lights hadn't been since 1965 but they are triples the wheels are interesting they're a later 14-inch rally wheel and the interior the seats have been replaced kind of a free-form design not exactly like what was on this car in 1967 although the door cards do appear to be of the original style I never did see this one with the top up but it does have a brand new convertible top boot these are the original door panels from 1967 original style carpet but again the seats have been redone and freelanced in 1967 was a new body style for the full-size Chevy Garden was the slab sided look for more of what you might call a fuselage effect or a bloated or bulging side it's not as big as it looks but this would last 67 8-9 in this body style you could get this Impala SS all the way up to a 427 which came with distinct badging and a distinct Hood good luck finding one of those today for less than a couple of grand the hood I mean not the car but how weird to imagine one of these are the 250 Cube six a super sport Impala yeah they made some three-speed manual too base car on a beautiful body that's the thing I love about this car this styling is spectacular 24 000 let's check in with Christian Murphy thank you very much Rick I'm down here in the about Jackson fans on lots of great things the UFC guys are over there Professional Bull Riders over there but formula one is here I'm here with Jocelyn Garcia every conversation I've had here in Las Vegas they talk about the F1 coming to Las Vegas incredible excitement building oh the demand has been incredible the interest has been incredible we're so excited to be coming to Las Vegas what better place than to bring Formula One to a city that's so Lively so exciting has everything that sports and entertainment is all about lots of unique aspects about this starting with a night race for for beginners it's a street race night race I mean how exciting is that for you it's well if we knew we were going to come to Vegas you had to do it justice and do it at night that's when the neon lights are glowing that's when the city is buzzing so we knew we only could do this at night but we're also doing it on Saturday night on November the 18th so it's one of the first times that we've ever had a Saturday night race which is also pretty different um from the rest of the calendar the build up to this is going to be unbelievable where are you at in the build and the planning what can we say what does a paddock look like what does the stripe the grid everything exactly so when we actually started right when they knew they were coming to Vegas and Liberty Media said that we're going to be promoting this race we immediately started building on the paddock building we're about 75 on our way so that's going to open for race weekend but as far as the track goes we've been doing I mean everybody in Vegas is probably talking about it right now we've been rebuilding the the track we're starting with the pavement getting everything ready so that we can race on Las Vegas Boulevard which is going to be incredible Justin we cannot wait to see this is going to be a really special event thanks for joining us here at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas and we cannot wait to see Formula One take over let's see everyone there back to you Rick our people around the world looking forward to this Las Vegas race of course not the first time they've raced here in Las Vegas they did that back in the 80s by the way for more information check this out go to F1 lasvegasgp.com that's where you get more information about this race coming up in November and remember it'll be the third Formula One race in the United States this year with Miami Austin and Las Vegas Shelby [Music] Beach stock or modified but this is actually a 2008 GT500 convertible very special cost of four valve four cam 500 plus horsepower but it's been hopped up as a body kit with one piece carbon fiber or injection molded fenders a wide body effect pretty cool it's a custom but it's a rare core vehicle to work from boy I sure would not want to try matching that paint it's a custom candy apple red with lava red striping Fading Into the base body color toward the back of the door a very truly unique wide body Shelby Mustang here we will say the purest might say this is the same thing as taking a 67 GT500 and customizing it it's either regrettable or okay but with that said there's enough to go around to do both belt-driven Whipple charger of Whipple brand supercharger on this GT500 [Music] I will say the quality of the execution is nice the fenders the quarter panels are one piece there's no body work on a undo down the road so the work is to taste but again it's well done I like it well it's worked its way into our top five our top four right now at 39 000 bid [Music] this remember of course the 5.4 liter dual cam or two four valve was not shared in any other Mustang strictly GT500 stuff see it here antics of that gentleman he likes the custom look and he gets it and the Summit Racing sold sticker goes on and away it goes for forty thousand dollars and that makes it the number four sale of the day so far here at Barrett Jackson 1986 Chevy K5 Blazer custom while the K indicates four-wheel drive and the Blazer is a shortened up version of a Chevy pickup truck with a permanent semi-permanent let's say fiberglass cap added this is a two row of vehicle two rows of seats uh front and rear I like the gray and the red two-tone the only wrap on these big Blazers is that four highway driving the short wheelbase gives them a pretty choppy ride you might be more comfortable in say a Tahoe or Suburban you know when these were first launched in the early 70s that fiberglass talk was absolutely removable however it took about an hour but 14 Fasteners couple of buddies but as you get in 1970 567 it was bolted down and really not meant to be taken off although if you really want to yes you can remove that top but Shelby doesn't want you to do it I do look like the two-tone treatment on these as I do on the full-size Chevy pickups pick Silverado badge that denotes the high-end trim level and the two tones separated by tape stripes as they often did in the 1980s at GM in elsewhere [Music] one of the things that made the top removal difficult for General Motors was the Mandate for shoulder harnesses and when you have a convertible or something without a top it's tough to find an anchor point for the third belt that goes over your top so they had a couple of fits and starts but the B pillar is fixed that's where the shoulder harness goes to 22 000.86 Chevy k Blazer custom let's check in with Tyler Hoover well here's the end of the line for the Bandit Trans Am a 1981 the special edition package you can see all the stripes but this one really really special and I'll show you here by coming in tight you can see it is a one owner car that is the original title or title or a copy of it there but then also the windows to you can see in 1981 this cost you ten thousand dollars only that much for a special edition Trans Am the package for it 1430 this one only has a little over forty thousand original miles on it the interior as you can see totally original and absolutely pristine the exterior they say 90 original paint you can see the original pinstriping and Graphics especially the creaming screaming Chicken on the hood has kind of a cool sort of flaky patina on it but you didn't want to replace it because it's original but being in 1981 well it's the last Wheezy breast of the mouse muscle car era here 305 V8 not very much horsepower but after this this body style the Bandit style Trans Am was gone replaced with more of the Knight Rider the modern looking Trans Am cool piece of History yeah very neat especially since it's the end of the line thanks a lot Tyler all right coming up check this out we've got a 1964 Pontiac Catalina this thing has less than 33 000 original miles at 389 cubic inch engine is part of the Brian Frank collection we'll see it soon welcome back to Las Vegas the Barrett Jackson collector car auction all inside of me Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall so many great cars yet to cross the block three days all selling at no Reserve here in Las Vegas had a fun day so far and now we're seeing the first of the Brian Frank collection this is a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser and it's the first of these that we've seen in this year's Las Vegas sale uh Brian Frank another like the boys a multi-generational consigner at Barrett Jackson but the Frank family owns a restoration business and they restore a very eclectic group of cars we'll see some today and more the rest of the weekend here's a four-leader dual overhead cam 24 valve V8 four-wheel drive automatic transmission last year the Toyota FJ here yeah the FJ was basically a retro design and if you really look at it and squint you can kind of see elements of the original fj40 but again no V8 power back then but yes today in the modern version Oh this is 10 years old it doesn't look it looks very fresh 67 000 actual miles on this one and a clean Carfax tell you what the Toyota FJ Cruiser hit the right the right tone at the times had a really strong market and remember reading a few years ago this is one vehicle that has held its value very well since they were sold and this is a perfect example I mean look at the current bin we're 35 36 thousand dollars the detail on these I think is pretty cool they have three windshield wipers try that on for size but it's all about the Mandate requiring swept area and it's best done this way here but pretty cool triple wipers just like an E-Type Jaguar yeah I haven't seen that since the MGB well the hammer had come down at 36 but somebody was able to get their bid in at the last moment bumped it up to 38 thousand dollars and that's easily in our top ten for this 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser with less than 70 000 miles I think it's going to get a lot of people's attention I have a funny feeling we're going to be seeing more of those FJ Cruisers popping up let's take a look at what's about to cross the block on our Maguire's on Deck cam well it turns out it's that 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that Tyler previewed 305 cubic inch four barrel carburetor on that engine four-speed manual transmission big shaker hood we'll see it very soon but up on the Block right now we have a 2012 Toyota Tundra custom pickup truck well the tundra was a breakthrough vehicle for Toyota they said hey Ford F-series Ram Chevy GMC here we come with our own full-size truck complete with a V8 and these absolutely took a big bite out of the modern uh pick full side truck Mark and here it is but TRD always means the muscle truck like a super sport to a Chevy this one has been supercharged it's the TRD sport edition so it's absolutely the top of the line uh it's had fender flares added front and rear and some huge hoops and gigantic 22 inch 285 45 22s on here Lionheart tires four-wheel disc brakes TRD wheels and gloss black very sharp yeah very cool new brakes on there they've got a suspension leveling kit for the rear they've done a lot of work to make this go to the next level yeah for the longest time you know Toyota was maker of compact pickup trucks but again not anymore the tundra open the door to full-size pickups and here it is yeah this is I think the third generation they have the T100 they had the tundra that was a little smaller than the F-150 and then they really hit it out of the park with this fifteen thousand dollars for a 2012 Toyota Tundra custom pickup truck all right time for another one from the Brian Frank collection this is that 1981 Pontiac Firebird that we've previewed for you well into the line just about here y84 options WS6 performance package the turbine Aero wheels don't call it a bandit Edition because Pontiac never had anything as such it's the Trans Am Special Edition they just happened to loan them to uh Burt Reynolds and Hal need them for the Smokey and Abandoned movie in 1981 was the last year for the full-sized f-body it's 82 the downsized cars and of course the shaker hood on these things get into a darn thing blocked off in the back except one thing it sold the heck out of Trans Ams about a quarter million of these cars were built and every single one of them came with a five dollar check to the scca to pay for their name transient look at all of the pinstriping tape that had to be applied to this car to complete the special edition and there is four miles of gold pinstriping the gold wheels and yes I think you have to order this with the camel interior it just sets off all of the gold trim so nicely this was not a great horsepower car but it was a great handling car maybe the best you could buy from an American manufacturer in 1981. one confusing detail is the fact it says 5-0 on the Shaker what well that's a Chevy 305 you have to get that get the Pontiac 301 and of course the turbocharged 301 results a possibility with an asymmetrical lump on the hood so a lot of confusion a lot of different engines for 1981 the final year I'll tell you what that came really close to making the number one sale of the day at 58 000 that is now the number two sale for that 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am So let's take a look at today's top five sellers brought to you by Hagerty that Mustang from 1973 still leads the way now the Firebird Trans Am is in second and just a little while ago while we were in a commercial break a Chrysler 300 H sold for 40 000 and that's what it takes to break into the top ten right now up on the block now we got a 1964 Pontiac Catalina this is what we previewed just when we were going to break a little while ago another one from the Brian Frank collection all right let me just say this right here and now this is the nicest Pontiac Catalina I have ever seen an incredible restoration by Brian Frank and his family Restoration company the white paint on the roof is original it's just been highly buffed the lower body has been repainted the interior redone this is achingly gorgeous this beautiful car that roof looks familiar to owners of 1964 Chevrolet Impalas that's because the roof skin the greenhouse and the rear glass are actually identical underneath this Pontiac skin is the GMB body full-size platform shared with Chevrolet in 1964 but again underneath everything very much different frame suspension engine all different but the body shell yeah b-body shared around now this is modern base coat clear coat paint as you would expect on a brand new car so why not you want your old car to look as new as possible well this is the way you would paint it maybe it's not authentic to as it was born but look at this interior this looks Factory fresh and original this is just an incredible Time Capsule piece from Brian Frank's family restoration business just 32 000 actual miles on this Catalina this one has the base 389 two barrel nothing wrong with that however there was a 421 with triple carbs 376 horsepower at the other end of the option sheet [Music] 28 thousand dollars for that very original 1964 Pontiac Catalina less than 33 000 miles and the original build sheet as well so very special it's Bronco time coming up behind it on 2022 Ford Bronco well there's still a fever surrounding the modern Bronco and this is the first Bronco ever to be available as a four-door or a two-door and crazy thing is the four doors outsell the two doors like five to one so the vast majority are four doors like this one here well look at the big fender flares on this one the aftermarket front bumper the flares the big on off-road tires uh the lug Wheels all added to this there's a 2.7 liter Ecoboost V6 under the hood and you get a 10-speed automatic uh the Sasquatch and Big Bend package that is a trim package it has Ford advanced track finished in race red over gray and black cloth seats and apparently the consider thinks that this will be bid on by somebody who doesn't want to wait for one at their local dealer because it has just 27 miles on the clock [Music] yeah we've got quite a few Broncos here this week and some new ones that have been pretty heavily customized this is not heavily customized but I think to your point Mike they're hard to come by especially a Sasquatch Big Bend Edition so this is the ability to buy one and get it right now a lot of great touches on these in fact underneath this region right here it's a cool little tool area and just just nice packaging thoughtful from beginning to end just well done unlike the originals which were basically agricultural tools but again these are lovely creatures old and new walking hand in hand well we're now at number three on the day territory can it go the rest of the way nope it sells 55 000 for that 2022 Ford Broncos Sasquatch Big Bend addition with less than 30 miles on the odometer we'll come back to Las Vegas great cars cars crossing the block this afternoon on his first day of our auction in fact you just saw some of the cars from the Brian Frank collection go across there's even more yet to cross the block so we sent out Mike joy to give us a quick preview foreign car Brian Frank collection what an Eclectic mix of cars 30 Street Rods V8 powered Datsun Z cars a fuel event an XKE Jag a VW double cab pickup and more but within the Brian Frank collection is the 409 collection how about this 40 000 mile Impala SS hardtop four-speed dual quad positraction 409. in the early 1960s the 409 was Chevrolet's big block its performance leader and you could order that engine in any full-size Chevrolet including the very base two-door sedan Biscayne like this one that spent a lot of its time at the drag strip a quarter mile at a time or a beautiful highly optioned Roman red 62 Impala SS convertible what a brace of beauties here she's real fine The Beach Boys sang maybe you belong in a Brian Frank 409. [Applause] yeah Brian Frank brings in Great Cars here to Las Vegas I think I just said Scottsdale that was a few months ago I remember where we are we are in Las Vegas us at the convention center the West Hall watching the rest of our Thursday docket go across not many cars left but remember we're back on Friday and Saturday right now 1989 Bronco Eddie Bauer edition so the third one we've seen today the difference here is this one has the non-optional the standard styled steel wheels the others had aluminum wheels which were also an upgrade extra cost item but again the original paint on this is sort of a medium blue or green and the beige the lower parts very tasteful very Eddie Bauer yeah all the Eddie Bowers had a two-tone in gold or beige depending upon the year and the model I put this one in the Survivor categories there's a lot of patina scratches at the top of the tailgate on the left Fender and elsewhere but at this price buy it drive it and enjoy it exactly sixteen thousand five hundred dollars that 89 Bronco let's check in with April Rose oh yeah here we go here is one of the big dogs that's going across on Friday 1969 Hemi super semi Roadrunner now right there the key word is hemi take a look at that it's a 426 425 horsepower one of only 234 Hemi roadrunners built this year and what makes it even better it's got the four speed with Hurst shifter Dana 60 rear end and that rear n96 air Grabber system now take a peek inside you got the bucket seats with the wood trim am eight-track stereo I mean this is such a cool ride and it comes with the original broadcast sheet which is basically its birth certificate this is such a cool car I'm going to show you a feature that I know Mike Joy loves to do all the time you got the Road Runner horn right there Rick I need the keys please we need to figure out how to get them in my hand oh it's very easy there's a thing called a bitter pass you raise it at a certain moment and you just make sure your bank account has enough money to cover what you just bought very simple process 1960 Impala custom currently bid at forty seven thousand dollars so this is a flat top these debuted in 1959 and look at the roof line from The Sweep of the windshield all the way around the back extending past the rear window glass this is the flat top on the four-door hardtop no B pillar there El Camino used a similarly shaped roof but of course it was much shorter 1964-door hardtop Impala you had to get a nomad wagon to spend more money than you paid for this one the end of the line for the fins horizontal fins not just vertical they'd be gone for 1961. well big money 54 000 on this Thursday yeah that was a big change with the tail lights remember it went from those cat eye seagull headlights or tail lights to just the Impala look that we knew through the early 60s now I'm wishing my 60 El Camino had gauges like this one boy they are legible they are modern but they are still analog 56 000 that guy is pumped that's the number three sale of the day let's check in with Tyler Hoover well here's an incredible Survivor selling tomorrow 1970 Boss 302 already an icon right here the car after the Shelby Mustangs built to race on a handle on the track and this one well take a look at it it has had some paint work over the years but mostly an original Survivor this really cool green paint and the green vinyl matching interior the odometer may have turned over once it's showing 9 000 miles but it may be a hundred and nine thousand miles but the coolest part of this of course the small block the 302 cubic inch V8 under the hood it's a numbers matching original but also this is a one owner car the owner has chosen after 50 years to sell it and the way he's doing it is bringing it to Barrett Jackson to sell no Reserve which I can't think of a better way I can't wait to watch this thing sell [Music] special to have a car for 50 years and of course if you're going to sell it why not come to Barrett Jackson up on the block now a 2013 BMW M5 well this was the executive Express this one has 92 000 miles so somebody did a lot of high-speed commuting to the office this car was race track bred it was BMW's mid-sized sedan but it was their highest performance sedan [Music] forever big 19-inch alloy wheels on this one and it's been well enjoyed 92 000 miles on the clock that would have been a lot of fun putting those miles on I guarantee you these were great handlers they accelerated really well they were everything you would want in a total performance sedan if you think about this I mean we're at eighteen thousand dollars it's a 2013 it's just 10 years old still stands out in its styling comfort you know I think everybody's afraid because they don't want to start doing the repairs on it but having said that this is still a great Cruiser [Music] sure foreign [Music] nineteen thousand five hundred dollars for a 2013 BMW M5 congratulations to that gentleman right there and coming up how about a 1969 AMC Javelin this one is an SST it's got that 390 cubic inch engine lime green original paint it'll be up on the Block before too long American Motors fans Rejoice it's coming to Bear Jackson [Music] back here in Las Vegas Barrett Jackson what a day we've had so far in fact we want to check in with Christian Murphy who's standing by with two guys have been paying close attention thank you very much Rick wait like you say it's been a really solid first day Thursday I'm here with Craig Jackson chairman of CEO Steve Davis the president 15 years here in Las Vegas the leaderboard today lots of diversity luxury cars trucks uh moderns modern Classics what do you see out of the Las Vegas docket what trends do you see coming into the collector car hobby if any you know today is as we said this morning it's your entry-level cars people getting into them I think the as always the nice cars bring the money I think uh at these price levels people don't want to spend a lot of money fixing them up uh there was some great buys and there were some cars that shaking my head at too so you know that's what an auction's about you look at the prices overall we are above our estimates on all the cars so it's a strong day very interesting that that's a really interesting point that the market maybe is holding up we've talked a lot about Thursday we've talked a bit about Saturday but nothing about Friday what can we expect tomorrow I mean we take it up another gear right absolutely we're going to take it up a notch as always Thursday we kind of get everybody in in the zone get it get the rhythm going Friday we're going to have absolute signature Barrett Jackson the Boyd collection will continue with some really really nice stuff tomorrow we'll have several other cars that will be standouts surprise you what's going to happen with those but bustle cars Rule the Day Resto mods Classics 50s Cruisers really worked hard to make Friday a very eclectic day because Vegas is that type of City something for everybody European sports cars Volkswagen dune buggies Cadillac Cruisers if you're looking for tomorrow Friday will be your day yeah well I think it's been a great day we've all worked really hard to put on a great day but like super Saturday off the charts thank you gentlemen we'll catch up with you tomorrow back to you Rick thanks a lot Murph we appreciate it and up on the Block right now at 2003 Hummer H2 the second one of these we've seen today so this was a 12. not really a tribute Hummer launched his own brand as a consumer brand selling big Hummers then this H2 was meant for more normal driving facing the gmt800 truck platform like a Tahoe or an Escalade obviously a little more hardcore with the Hummer a lot of good one goes for 12 000 dollars we're just talking about what a great day it's been let's check out our top sellers number three sale of the day it's this 1960 Chevy Impala custom 502 cubic inch engine four-speed transmission 56 000 the number two sale how about a 1981 Trans Am only one owner one of only 932 special editions built that year 47 000 miles 58 000 but the number one sale of the day how about a 1973 Mustang convertible the end of the line of the big mustang that first generation 302 cubic inch engine the color was Bolero red but we're going to call it resale red because it sold here at Barrett-Jackson for 60 000 the number one sale of the day well so far we've still got a few more yet to cross the block like this 1968 Chevy C10 the mighty step side body not the fleet side and again step side a little narrower but a little easier to access uh murdered out as they say in the hood all flat black looking pretty missing wheels that look like they are spinning when they are well sitting still kind of reminds me of like uh pogs you know the Slammers you ever collect any of those I never did but these wheels I'm not sure if I want to eat them or look at them they look like candy I like that I'm kind of hungry I mean you missed the whole POG Slammer era I can't believe Steve missed that that was a fun my kids collected them they were kind of things you could play with they were cool little flippers I remember when they came out but I I'm a little too old for that you know but I remember they were around wait a minute we're never too old to have fun and Beanie Babies that was my error of course Joe hand model kids oh boy that's another thing right there [Music] well even if the wheels aren't to your taste I mean for the value here this era of truck make it how you want for 8 500 bucks looks like it's a really solid body wow what a deal eight thousand five hundred dollars those Wheels aren't cheap not a bad buy all right a little while ago we previewed this Nike duel let's talk about the fact that barrettnest jackson.com is the place to go to if you missed any of our coverage today you could see all the cars that have already crossed the block see what they sold for and of course get a quick preview about what's coming up on Friday and Saturday all right this is the car that we previewed just a little while ago and I know that we never get enough javelins for the American Motors fans so we got one up on the Block right now from 1969 it's very special this is a big bad green what does that mean well it's the Psychedelic paint but we look at the door tag and we see 4A this is a factory big bad green car and it's mostly original better yet this is a 390 car and again 1969 first year for big bad colors only year the bunkers were also painted this is a sleeper right here very special car the big 390 and the big bad green paint now this is quite a Survivor it's shown it's got a few Nicks and things and but look at the badging here SST this was an upper trim level level of American Motors and it stood for Super Sports touring but where do they get the SST name from Boeing the aircraft manufacturer who won a government contract in the mid 60s to develop a supersonic transport that would be faster and bigger than the British French Concord that project was stillborn in 1971 the SST Javelin continued the name lives on and away it goes you know we mentioned some of the great collections that we're having across the block here in Las Vegas one of them is owned by our own Tyler Hoover so here he is with more dude just explain today I'm going to give you a first look of my four cars so let's start with my 1966 Shelby gt350h this is the Hertz Rent eraser for 17 a day and 17 cents a mile you could rent a real full-blown Shelby from Hertz which this car is basically this is a full-blown Group B vintage race car which is how I bought it but I wanted to Street it so I added some things made all the lights work gauges and all that stuff so I can drive it on the street as well but this is a really cool opportunity to buy a race car with this pedigree but also a Hertz car and you can also drive it on the street and all the documentation is right here in this book The Original bill of sale from 1968 period photos and more recent racing all the receipts and full ownership history next to it is a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in my opinion this is about the best new car being built today and I lucked into this I bought it from the dealership I worked at over 15 years ago and I really really enjoyed this car are put almost a thousand miles on it had to get it past break-in so I could hear the amazing flat plane crank V8 rev to full song Almost 9000 RPM 670 horsepower I absolutely love this car Hypersonic gray metallic as well a great color continuing on to a muscle car Legend right here a 1968 Dodge Charger RT 440 now enthusiasm for these spans Generations whether your original Bullet Steve McQueen fan with a 68 Charger or the Dukes of Hazard with their 70 Charger that jumped everything or most recently The Fast and Furious franchise there's been every iteration of a 70 Dodge Charger in there of course the crazy green color is what I loved about it inside and out the interior is original inside it's had a repaint on the outside and of course that big 440 engine and Factory air conditioning an amazing driving car and finally the glove most certainly did fit with me on this 1994 Ford Bronco and no this isn't the infamous O.J Simpson Bronco of the car chase and all that stuff but it was a lifelong California truck before I bought it originally sold in Southern California and I bought it from somebody who used it to give OJ theme tours around Brentwood Beverly Hills where all this stuff took place that's just a beautiful example of a Bronco four-wheel drive with the 5-liter V8 automatic transmission and of course the removable top this is a great example of a modern classic they were seeing more and more appreciation at Barrett Jackson and this one being a lifelong California truck mostly original paint it is a very nice example and on Saturday so you want to tune in because we had a lot of great cars but also to see how Tyler Hoover does in terms of the cars that he's collected over the years twenty five thousand dollars for the 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500 all right this will probably be the last car we'll see roll up on the Block our last vehicle a 2003 Hummer H2 don't forget we don't see it sell you can go to barrett-jackson.com to see the final price makes our third to age two of the day a little more refined than the military version but it's got that lineage in it [Music] so that's a wrap for day one from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas but it's just the tip of the iceberg we still have 13 more hours of live auction action coming to you over the next two days that includes six hours on FYI tomorrow it's going to be a car lovers Paradise so for Mike Joy Steve manyante Tyler Hoover April Rose and Christian Murphy I'm Rick Dubrow thanks for riding along with us today we will see you back here tomorrow in Las Vegas [Music]
