Honestly seems like Toyota understood the assignment perfectly
Happy Hachi-Roku Day!
Sounds like a big win for Toyota. Honestly the GR brand is killing it.
It's awesome that we have both the twins and ND2 for lightweight manual sports cars. Since the performance between the two on paper are so similar, it looks like it comes down to preferences in other areas:

I'm just glad folks can enjoy a lightweight MT NA RWD sports car for 30k in this day and age.
Ah, the embargo's up. Funny intro they got.

The GR86 got a faster lap time than the MX-5, Veloster N, Golf R, TLX Type-S and even the Challenger Hellcat Redeye. It's just a few milliseconds off from the Mustang PP1, and <1-second behind the
A91A90 Supra's lap time. Good lord. Also, Track bRed is just too good a colour name.
So far every video review I've checked out has featured massive shit-eating grins.
Looks like an awesome step up. I look forward to reviews where they can take it on some regular roads and review at as a DD too.
this performance paired with the last gen GT86s looks would be perfect for me. Wonder how close you could get an old one to this in terms of driveability with aftermarket parts?
I'm fairly surprised at the overwhelming positive reaction this car has put forth. I'm planning to get the 2023 model(give it a year to breathe to see if there's any problems with the car.) Just I am really surprised that Toyota still hasn't listed an actual price other than sub 30k.
