Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
The headlight and taillight design is very 1980s. The rectangular headlamps and pixelated taillights specifically remind me of DeLoreans, Camaros, and Porsche 944s.
I saw one of these in person. It looks very good and I am all about the styling. But it is a larger car than photos of it suggest.
Hyundai, please say you are coming out with an N version even though that's a silly thing to do.

This is a CUV? I deadass thought this was a hatchback ๐
The long wheelbase enabled by a battery-electric powertrain gives a lot of these new EV โcrossoversโ hatchback-like proportions. And I like it. I personally think this is way more stylish than the Fiat 500L or Mini Cooper Countryman which look like inflated versions of their inspiration. Iโm excited to see the new and unique ways designers make use of these new architectures.
u/Doug-Demuro, you opened the trunk storage compartment and there was another handle in there that said โopenโ. What does it open?? Iโm dying to know!
Two things
1) The "thigh support" is a leg rest for when you are charging. The whole seat will lay back like a recliner.
2) How on earth does the Model Y Performance have a higher "Cool Factor" score than the Model 3 Performance? A fast crossover is not exactly "cool."
I love this car's styling. Although I'm already a Hyundai fan, I honestly have to say this is the best looking car they've ever made. Nothing they've previously made has ever looked amazing, but this does. And I agree with Doug that the blue/teal color is perfect and the color I'd have it in. I think retro futuristic styling is the absolute best thing happening in the car industry. I hope more brands go forward with styling like this. A few things I'm not crazy about are the wheels, but of course that's for aerodynamics. I also don't like the gauge cluster and infotainment display. They should have made one giant screen or significantly shrink the bezels.
I will be in the market for an EV pretty soon, but I just can't justify spending so much on something that isn't a Tesla and it pains me to say that because I don't even like Teslas that much. If I were to own an EV as my olny vehicle, Tesla is the only practical option. If I were to buy another brand's EV, I'd have to keep my Elantra for long distance trips.
Other brands need batteries as big as if not bigger than Tesla's since nationwide fast charging for non-Tesa vehicles is such a convoluted mess.
Of all the strange shit Doug has seen over the years I'm not sure why he's so hung up on the square pixel design detail. It's really not that outlandish?
