hey guys this is darren benton again with performance motor coaches out of texas this is a follow-up video of a video we did about three weeks ago picking up this unit at the factory uh we've brought it back home we've done our customization in regards to powder coating wheels building the front bumper and the rear bumper uh we've also done a few little key interior pieces to kind of tie everything together this will be a final video we have about two three more things to go through on it but pretty good representation of the final product this is one of six units that exists the seventh one is coming down the road here about another 30 days this is a four wheel drive show hauler very unique product it's built for somebody that wants to go halfway between you know more of an expedition vehicle and a true rv so lots of ground clearance on this um but lots of redundancy like you would see in some of the overland vehicles definitely not intended for extreme off-road use it's designed to be able to get you up to ski hill and up and back maybe get down to the river and so that's the sole intention for this vehicle this vehicle is actually sold we sold it in the production process so it'll go to its new owner on wednesday of this week pretty happy to have him on board he he's a second time show hauler owner he's also an earthroamer owner as well just wanted something a little bit bigger to be able to accommodate his family out on the road and just you know more water storage more room inside this is a truly a vehicle that you could put uh you know two or three grown guys you could put a family of four to five and still have ample room to be able to get around so pretty proud of it let's get to the basics of the chassis itself this is one of the few four wheel drives you can actually get from the manufacturer so this was ordered as a freightliner m2 with the four wheel drive conversion from freightliner the nice thing about that warranty wise there's not fingers pointing upon fingers other people and such so it makes it pretty nice to be able to deal with freightliner if you have any concerns with chassis cummins engine this is a 350 horse it's a isl cummins 8.9 liter been around forever we drove this thing back three weeks ago did great plenty of power you know no problem running 70 to 75 miles an hour i do the speed rating of the tires about 68 i really don't recommend over that 70 to 75 so all in all really good package for somebody that's not wanting to drive across country but some somebody that wants to take you know long longer journeys and be able to experience the outdoors uh be able to have a unique vehicle uh have great resale so there's a lot of benefits to a vehicle like that i'm happy to say that we're the only dealer for show hauler that can even offer the four wheel drive conversions so that's pretty special for us i've done well with the product it's a product that i always love getting my hands on and unfortunately most of them sell before they ever truly get my hands on them the next one that's coming down the line is unsold so you can make some inquiries about that it'll be pretty cool a lot of first on that one coming down the road too uh crew cab configuration i mean lots of wow factor just saying i have a crew cab i have four doors obviously if you're trying to accommodate uh four people for adults and not having to isolate your friends passengers from the cab uh so four air ride bucket seats uh you could probably accommodate some some bench seats but then they're they they're not air ride obviously this is a rougher vehicle because of the size because of the tire and wheel combination but i really feel it's unique for that for either a family or you know a group of guys wanting to go hunting and such uh the conversion on this is about 23 foot so roughly we're 36 37 feet overall from front to rear a 23 foot conversion you know bunk over lots of lots of good sleeping area we'll get to that once we come inside for people that don't know about show haul they're one of the few manufacturers that starts with a solid steel frame and then that framework is all welded to the frame of the truck so you have a true cage here versus most other manufacturers there's some kind of fiberglass composite wall that's glued together it's screwed together so if safety is of you know of dire concern show hauler is hands down the very best uh i've seen these units on their side and they put back up most in the other rv whether it's you know a vacuum bundle wall on a normal custom rv or some of the uh composite boxes that are being imported for some of the expedition vehicles there's just no structural integrity to those and you know it's debatable on you know r-factor and whatnot luckily we can spray foam these this is spray foamed uh lots of insulation below the floor on top of the floor so that's the only real argument you know that you get well you know there's not enough insulation but these walls are thick uh safety obviously is the number one concern there in regards to the construction of the box the sheet metal itself actually it's a it's aluminum sheet metal 063 aluminum that is adhered to all your steel uprights we get a lot of people that seek out the show waller product because of the safety factor of it we'll kind of go through open up some of the cab doors didn't do anything wild and crazy inside just basically factory interior tied all the power locks together air ride seats this is a factory colored cab right here that's typically how i like to do it whenever i have time so this is basically kind of a toyota concrete gray and then we have the conversion to match conversion painted to match the cab itself really easy to get in and out of you know if you had higher end bicycles you could stick the bicycles there you could obviously pull those seats out so lots of different possibilities lots of different you know potential configuration we can build them on extended cab we can build them on a regular cab the next one is actually will be built on an international regular cab pretty happy about that pretty excited about it uh cool factor you know we run online all this stuff we powder coat all the steps so it looks completely different than it did three weeks ago when we picked it up from the factory back up camera gps incredibly easy to operate 3000 series allison six-speed transmission so effortless to drive it is air brake uh check to your corresponding states for air brake endorsement most people just getting these things and drive uh tenor windows uh do a lot of different things you know you could do do full custom on the interior but kind of my opinion is people are going to be out you know they don't want carpeted floors they want things to be easily cleaned and wiped off so definitely cool kind of skipped over the front bumper here this is something exclusive to us so these are actually custom made here and we just put some of the rigid dually lights there just kind of gives you a little bit tough look obviously if something's out in front of you you know deer wildlife whatever you do have some pretty good protection uh the nice thing about this bumper is you have a lower steel frame a lot of framework down below and then if you did damage this upper portion of the bumper the whole upper portion can be removed just off of a few bolts there so pretty cool pretty cool setup factory led headlights these headlights are phenomenal for people that have some of the m2s like some of the older jayco products and such you really need to upgrade your headlights don't buy the bulbs just go with basically the truck light oem headlight they do a phenomenal job it looks great you can see all the way to oblivion at night so pretty cool we'll come down the side again did a little bed liner there to kind of protect it from the rocks the emissions device right there we've got a 50 gallon fuel tank right here there's an 80 gallon over on the other side along with some batteries so kind of the kind of the push on the crew cab initially was to be able to do more than 100 gallons of fuel or more than 60 gallons of fuel because of the four-wheel drive you have to have the emissions device there you can't do dual fuel tanks on the four-wheel drive come here start compartments just i do the simple topspin baggage doors very easy to get into not much adjustment or anything like that of course we combine these storage compartments right here so if you had some longer items pretty easy to get into they are rhino lined their bed line we won't use that word again they're bed lined to be able to rinse out wipe out and such pretty simple dometic awning on it weather pro the idea back behind this awning versus a lateral arm just tougher there's some shocks and such built in it so if the wind kind of whips up it won't rip the awning off that's the bad that's the downfall to the laterals they look really cool but they are very unforgiving whenever it comes to any kind of major wind super robust entry door just standard three position three point step there able to squeeze a little compartment there there is a hook up there if you want to hook up a tv or whatever there is a hook up up there if you want to do like an outdoor cooler makes it pretty nice right here more storage you know we'll obviously get off in a few tangents here but i wanted to be able to talk about um this particular system right here most of the people that are looking for this this type of vehicle are pretty familiar with a boiler type system uh most of those will be like either uh like a bosto or s bar uh this is a domestic company right here very easy to deal with very easy to get a hold of you know i've got their cell phone numbers uh we can it's always easy to deal with them if there's an issue we can call them we can text them we can email and they respond immediately most other companies very difficult to deal with especially whenever you're dealing with manufacturers outside the us so pretty cool this is itr they're based out of washington and canada up in the northwest this is a 30 000 btu heater basically it's a boiler it heats coolant and then it cool is circulated inside the motorhome for heat and your domestic water actually runs into it as well so nice hot hot shower super hot shower a very efficient system doesn't take up much room uh it is plumbed to the engine so the waste heat from the engine will keep the system warm driving up and down the road so if you had a total failure here and you still can run your engine you can run the system uh there is a third aspect to this it there is electric heater in there well as well obviously the electric won't do it won't be nearly as efficient as the diesel or the waste heat off the engine but kind of the idea is you drive down the road and turn the system on and be able to keep the inside of the coach warm this will stay warm you'll have hot water and such uh very very it's a once you become accustomed to the hydraulic system i don't think you'll ever go back to a regular forced air propane especially a vehicle you just can't distribute that forced propane air very efficiently in any kind of vehicle so happy with that and one last feature of this because it is plumb to the engine itself you can actually preheat your motor so if you're in crazy crazy cold environment flip a switch inside and this will reverse cycle coolant back to your engine to uh basically pre-heat your engine it's a pretty cool setup there well guide lights right there we have some extra security lights down the side makes it super handy at night if it was any later than this i mean it would be lit up all on the ground here obviously a little bit darker as we go through the night here come around the back side of the coach obviously you know you'll see windows there's three windows across the very very back of this coach that is your bedroom my intention was to be able to experience as much of the outdoors as possible but still have a really really nice bed to sleep in so we'll get more to that once we go inside but pretty happy with that framed windows the frame is they look really cool they have lots of issues in regards to uh you know becoming unbonded and such so these windows you can open them up be able to get a lot of cross breeze with them so we incorporated underneath the bed here large storage compartment so you know obviously if you're you know an expert skier you're going to be able to put some you know some 250 skis back here but snowboards and such this is fully insulated so if you do leave this open it won't won't cause any concerns with your bedroom your bed or anything like that but just um you know the idea is to kind of maximize space obviously we're starting with a smaller unit and we wanted to maximize every single square inch for more storage a little led light in there just a simple bumper here just for a little bit of protection uh there's a two inch receiver on it uh that hitch is rated at ten thousand pounds just my idea is somebody that is pulling or somebody is driving this particular rig right here is probably not gonna be towing anything uh substantial we could build this with a full forty thousand pound hitch wouldn't recommend it went ahead built it with a buddy plug on the back so the idea is you know if you were using this tailgate or hanging out outside or maybe your friend had a travel trailer of some sort uh they could actually plug in here uh 8k jane 8k onan gin will get to that but makes it pretty handy for somebody to be able to plug in there keep on coming around all led lights back up camera right there so that's basically mild storage you have to transfer switch you got your 50 amp connection in there we'll roll up here uh lots of capacity this is probably the highest capacity you will see of a vehicle like this any kind of four wheel drive most of those have cartridge toilets they're all fine and dandy if you're in an area we can actually dump those cartridge toilets uh we use the unit for about 10 days uh this summer it was very difficult at times to be able to find areas to be able to dump those cartridges out wish we would have something like this 72 gallons of gray 72 gallons of black very easy to operate this will be basically your entire wet bay for like city water connection black flush very easy to operate and very easy to to winterize flip one switch here or one valve inside flip one valve here and all that manifold will drain out makes it definitely handy we went ahead and slid the slide out out just so it wasn't in the way um right here decided to port the exhaust through the body panel there just didn't want that large four inch exhaust hanging down there obviously we you know we had to deal with the generator hanging down there but that four inch we thought would have definitely caused lots of issues additionally this does have uh full hydraulic leveling all the way around obviously because it's a taller vehicle and because the hydraulics jacks themselves have to be somewhat elevated if you were extreme angle you would you know you would need to carry some blocks but when we powder coated these wheels we just stuck blocks underneath it injected all the way up off the ground does it does a great job but it makes it super handy i'm very ocd very picky so it drives me nuts to sleep where i'm going like this so in other vehicles that don't have jacks i'm always using rocks and and so it makes it pretty cool just hit a button auto level go from there we did add a washer dryer to this that's a little bit right there for people that are just kind of you know interested that's the 8 000 gin we talked about it feeds off the same fuel tanks as the engine you don't have to worry about any additional fuel you got 130 gallons on board here you got 130 gallons for the uh for the generator so it's not a problem there this will be the last this will be the last even though the new owner won't be happy about this will be the last rig we're going to do with agm batteries we finally got on board uh with battleborn and dragonfly to do their lithium ions and we will locate those inside uh because we got a little bit more storage inside feel more comfortable out running those lithiums inside so right here we have a dual uh these are 8d agms believe these are either 425 or 450 amp hours per unit um once we well the next one we did seven or eight of the uh 100 amp hour lithiums but obviously you know a little bit of cost cost difference there but uh pretty excited about having those lithium coming on board here we'll get back to the electrical bay here uh this is one of the first or people that have seen my videos and me complaining we got the inverter we didn't get it all the way up at the top but at least we got it over the side so you can use this for a little mild storage that's a 3000 watt magnum hybrid inverter basically run everything inside the coach with the exception for the air conditioners plenty of power there got some different solenoids and such here very easy to operate and pretty cool they've incorporated just a regular battery switch so if you want to shut this coach down completely very easy uh one switch inside one switch there and one switch there and this coach will be completely shut down no parasitic power loss whatsoever the next probably just some of these open the next is where we had to locate the def tank just because of the amount of items we had underneath the cab itself and that large fuel tank obviously new emission it's just just the way it is i'm not a fan of no admission but we've been dealing with over 10 years this is what it is 80 gallon fuel tank right there you'll see uh the chassis batteries obviously put this this uh you know just located the hydraulic jacks where we could but it will jack up the the entire unit not a problem i did change the mirrors as well just kind of tried to black out everything obviously we didn't want to spend the time just to rattle can all these all these bolts for the you know for the paint to peel off so we we thought that that amount of of stainless would be somewhat acceptable come around the front again some of the first units we did were michelin tires they just made a lot of noise they really they had a cool factor a wow factor to them but they were just too darn noisy i mean they had that womp womp driving down the road went to these firestones uh super quiet i mean yeah they're not crazy aggressive but um you know if it starts affecting the ride quality that's whenever i've got a got a major issue with that you see that hatch open there pretty cool to be able to access that you know view a wildlife dust off your solar panels whatever keypad here that will lock the entry and also it's wired into the cab itself it's a key fob or keypad to be able to do all that take our shoes off because i'm a neat freak kind of peer inside the door here so you can catch it without having to catch me as well all of your controls right there your solar panel control that's just a 30 amp controller there are 390 watt panels up top there this does have the firefly multiplex so basically all your lighting controls uh so very easy to get to we'll come in like i said the slide out is slid out even when the slide is in the in position it comes in about right here very accessible so you drive down the road and need to make a sandwich or somebody's laying on the couch or hanging out watching tv you can still you know this is a fully accessible coach for the slide out in uh if you were crazy cold you know temperatures and were super icy outside you didn't want to have to mess with you know pulling all the ice off the slide just let it slide in really not an issue and wanted to make sure that this was a usable coach with the sliding whether it was in or out i'll talk about the overhead monk obviously you can see the hatch from here the bunk itself is 60 inches wide so obviously you know two adults two adults that liked each other wouldn't have a problem sleeping up there we got a small bunk here just kind of designed for kids it does flip up makes it pretty nice jackknife couch right there um i actually integrated this support into the top of the couch right here just to try to maximize as much space as possible 40 inch samsung smart tv right there's a little bit of storage back there nice it's really well lit the we've gone to a newer style light about the last year and a half and it just makes these coaches so much brighter you know you go into some of the older coaches i walk through my service department all the time and i always try to upgrade people to the leds because you walk in those older coaches they're so dingy any of this newer stuff i mean there's so much more well lit the two panels right there you see up top that's actually intended to go the smaller ones intended to go in that hatch opening extreme cold or extreme heat that's going to make a huge difference there and then additionally that larger cushion will block off the cab the manufacturers just simply do not put enough insulation in the cabs i don't it's nothing against the manufacturers themselves but if you're trying to stay in this whenever it's 100 degrees you won't be able to keep this cool because everything's gonna you know all your air conditioner will be heading out that direction same deal in the wintertime uh you know it's crazy you can open that up you know even on a 75 80 degree day and it's just like an oven i mean just you you pull that cushion out and it you know just almost takes your breath away very easy you know the simplicity you know we could have came up with little roller shades and whatnot but just you know to me that was it's a real simple thing you pop it into place you pop it out you don't have to worry about it ladder will store up there a little privacy curtain right there probably something i would never use to kind of notice this elevated portion right here and that's the reason why this is actually a standard height show hauler because it's a four wheel drive and this we could get away with doing this much of it elevated right here to make it easier to get in the bunk you know if you're you know adults to be able to get in there and not have it so incredibly tight went ahead and put another tv over here the idea is that you can watch tv wherever you wanted nice large storage underneath each one of these uh we went ahead and mounted some seat belts there they come factory equipped with seat belts on this side this customer has some small children and he wanted as many seat belts as possible lots of overhead storage this is just a natural maple very very light clear coat on it just nice clean i was never a fan of the natural maple and i saw a few coaches and then wanted to do something different just to make them feel more open and modern uh you know so many people are going the country french and all the white that's too far gone for me but i really like this is nice and super nice and clean uh you know the contrast of the colors and such down the floor we have basically just a vinyl plank floor because it's four wheel drive didn't want to do tile uh because it's an rv really didn't want anything that had any wood products in it whatsoever didn't want to have to worry about any kind of water intrusion and buckling or anything like that and a lot of those wood products are really susceptible just a difference of humidity i've seen units that i've been in florida their whole life and then we bring them out here and everything shrinks up or maybe they've been out here their whole life and they go to florida and they actually buckle up not because of any water but just because of the humidity in the air itself we'll swap around talked about maximizing storage you know this was a dead space uh that we really couldn't do anything else with and so made it into like a little pantry there put some cans and such there storage storage surround sound we'll talk a little bit about the refrigerator itself i have a really difficult time with the rv refrigerators any of the gas absorption i think they're death traps i think they're fire traps and then you got horrible customer service from the manufacturers this is a unit that is actually made in italy it's a vit frigo i've had great luck with them very simple 12 volt compressor you can plug it in it'll operate off of 110 but ultimately it converts it over to uh to a 12 volt so the idea is you don't have to run your inverter to run your refrigerator the inverters even sitting idle just have so much power consumption so they pretty hard on your battery so this is just a nice unit eight cubic foot uh but to me that's all i need i'm not i'm not putting turkeys in there i don't need to put you know a thirty pack of busch light in there anything so storage storage for people that saw the video about a year ago of another basically twin to this coach uh i wanted to make it uh very very convertible to the to the to the new owner these things do take about a year to build and so i engineered it we designed it with a drawer bank here that was removable to be able to accommodate a a washer dryer combo unit so this consumer decided that he wanted to do that obviously you know he loses a fair amount of storage there but that was important for him and there's still plenty of storage elsewhere you know you got storage just pretty much anywhere you could possibly imagine a little bit different sink we came up there and then obviously uh you know instead of doing like a corian sink cover we wanted the nicer butcher block there gives you more room or you can just do one side cut vegetables and such just a simple this is not an induction cooktop just because you have to deal with the cookware that's associated with it so just a simple electric cooktop nothing wild and crazy pocket doors here got crucified in the past people i guess don't understand the pocket door i will show you the pocket door this will isolate and for people that really want to know there's two pocket doors we were able to come up with two pocket doors unbelievable so guess what if i'm sitting on the toilet here someone's back there complete privacy unbelievable so i get off my soapbox about the pocket doors but very frustrating so there again it's all just about trying to maximize every single square inch of this guy and it you know some of this stuff it is what it is you know the door comes here i wanted to be able to put storage here so i'll show you that whenever we come back inside a ton of storage all back behind the toilet you know you can you put a lot of stuff in here if you start stacking it in little nooks and crannies um basically this is kind of like a medicine cabinet i don't know if you can get that probably mess this up large medicine cabinet but you could even roll up towels and stick it in there same for this guy just a ton of room and i'm pretty proud of this a little cubby hole back in there can you see him much storage as possible um we will we'll go through it and then we'll come back to the firefly that's the firefly is almost like a lesson in itself fiberglass shower there again the moving the jostling and stuff didn't want a tile shower didn't want a solid surface shower you know i'm 200 pounds a little over six foot tall i have no problem getting in here there again make it simple basically you can turn the shower head on and off without actually having to shut this and so you can basically you know you can conserve a fair amount of water there if you've seen some other videos i'm typically not a fan of the skylight the reason why i did the skylight is because of the lower height so you know if i'm six foot there's obviously guys that are out there the new owner he's about six two six three so he'll appreciate that imagine being this tall shampoo in your head and you won't touch anything you'll have a fair amount of room there hit your head on the way out nice storage here there again there was really no other way to get this done so the pocket door we'll run into that so if you have a tough time with trying to get your wardrobe and going to the bathroom maybe this coach isn't for you convertible here there again i want to just i wanted to be able you know i thought well my likes aren't necessarily what somebody else's likes are so all those shelves can be pulled out and ultimately this is deep enough where you could probably stagger you could probably do two different hanging front to back but all those shelves can be removed nice large drawers here this is something that i really take for granted you see the dovetail most of the rvs you can go with the ultra high end rvs you know five six hundred thousand dollar diesel pushers even million dollars to push you'll see staple drawers so pretty cool to have that all soft close door glides um another set right here obviously this this is a corner bed this bed is 60 inches wide itself so the idea is you know once you get these corner beds you know i don't mind sleeping right next to the bed so uh you could you could potentially do this with a larger bed but 60 inches is just fine for me if i put myself all the way against the window i'm going to go ahead open these to maybe see out because it's gotten a little bit darker outside and you can access over here so we got a closet there and a closet there so the idea there the convertible as well all the shelves can come out but a ton of storage all the way around here and very easy to very easy to service this coach all of the water lines and drain lines are run above the floor itself and get this little guy right there so that chase there and then that's access to the water tank and the water uh water pump below the uh below the bed itself we'll come back it seems like all these videos about the last five minutes i kind of get a little tick on my throat but try to break through it uh firefly system uh not a new system by any means but new to show hauler um instead of doing all these independent controllers for lights and inverters and whatnot this is all basically all in one has the ags auto generator start all in this as well so that's your home screen turn your water pump on water pop off run all your lights turn your generator on say your ags uh your ags will be triggered your auto generator start will be triggered off of low voltage or air conditioning demand which is pretty cool so if you left this coach was relatively cool came back to it at night uh when it got hot it would actually keep the you know the coach nice and cool inside a very easy system to operate had great luck with firefly come back around here all of the uh integrated light pads all tie in with that and basically anywhere you're sleeping anywhere you're sitting to be able to do that uh be able to operate your lights um also most of them will have a master light control so if you forget your lights and you go to bed hit one button and be able to drop every light in the house i guess this little tickle is not going to go away so i'll kind of wrap it up very unique coach very happy to have it sad to see it go to its new owner but glad you guys are tuning in make sure you guys like and subscribe try to make more videos we've got some really cool videos of like 10 of the truck chassis uh motorhomes here at the dealership today so make sure you guys take a look at that keep on coming back appreciate it
