2020 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA WITH A 110 INCH CUSTOM BOLT SLEEPER TOUR

welcome to truck and travel i'm derek and i'm cinnamon today we're going to finally give you guys a tour of our 2020 cascadia freightliner with our 110 inch bolt sleeper i know you're gonna dig this [Music] [Applause] [Music] i don't know if it came out in 2018 or 2019 but this is the newer cascadia body style while this video is being filmed uh this is a 2020 um this does have the dd13 in it motor i believe it's 410 horsepower and a little bit over 1600 foot feet pounds of torque believe it or not it's an inline-six motor and the motor weighs a little bit over 2 400 pounds what's really cool about this truck is that these are not like bolted onto the bumper or anything it's like goes where like the tow hooks go so we can actually remove these to be towed towed but i think it looks cool because they stick out a little bit further and the new body style i just really like it a lot um for this cap or the yeah the front of this truck is short like our other one but it has this like really sharp look to it really nice sharp lines me and cinnamon added these uh i don't know what you call them but they're for like if your boots are dirty or whatnot you just wipe them off on here and usually that happens in bad weather whether it's snow or mud or whatever it's nice to have this and then our toolbox is instead of being on the back we have it right here underneath i'm not exactly sure how white it is but it is pretty gigantic we have a bunch of junk in there we got our snow chains in there we got a couple of fold out chairs in there so and this little door is like a pass-through door and that's where like stuff from the kitchen is so there's nothing to write home about with this one this door has it's where all the electronics are you got the little heater right there and then the inverter is right there as well and this is for our little plug that we have like right underneath so that way we can power this thing without the generator this is one of the 80 gallon tanks we have for diesel on this truck there's a matching one on the other side i kind of wish there's like you know 150 gallons on each side because then we could drive across the country no problems but it's it's okay it gives you a reason to get out of the truck and stretch for a little bit these are our two uh axles right there heavy duty um we do not have the lift uh axle we have the standard fixed axle and i'm pretty sure they probably handle a lot more weight not real sure but i'm pretty confident that this is where the switch is for our lifting [Applause] in order to use this there's another switch on the inside that has to be powered on otherwise this thing is dead which is really nice and nobody messes with it but i feel like this one moves a lot faster i don't know it looks more heavy duty than the other one so i'm not really sure if it can handle more weight or what but it feels pretty legit pretty cool and this one it doesn't have a bumper down here um it has i used to step on the other one's bumper that's why i say that but it has these little flip out things so we got to make sure that these bad boys are up before we lower the liftgate otherwise we can rip this off or whatever which they're pretty handy and i really like this truck a lot i think it looks really in the times it has a bunch of clear led lights up and down even the brake lights clear and then this is the backup light and then on the side it has another backup light so that way when people are are facing your side and they can't see this light they can see the white light on the side which is really cool we also just got done with a 30 over a 3200 mile run which is why it's not spotless clean sorry about that guys [Music] all right on the inside we got roughly 12 straps and i think we got eight bars we normally don't use all the bars we might have used all of them like one time um i think we've used all the straps before in the other truck i think we used eight six so far in this truck surprisingly back there we have a bin full of moving blankets and there are a ton back there we also have a pallet jack and we have another uh we have a dolly back there and what's the other thing called that you put stuff on and roll we'll call it a dolly this is a 20 foot long box and it's a standard width which i want to say the outside's like 96 inches so give or take this is a insulated box on the doors as well as the roof because it has a reefer you can see back there that keeps it cool refrigerated we set it for certain tips and it'll be that temp give or take a couple degrees up or down so a lot of these trucks if not all of them have landing gear in the back so that way you put this down and a forklift can drive on the inside without hurting your airbags or whatever or making a rough ride for this homeowner driver you got to be really quick to do this because sometimes those idiots will drive back there before you're even ready and we've had that happen a couple of times what i like to do sometimes is i check out the area where we're parked at and where we got back up into if it's perfectly smooth i'll go ahead and lower it down until it's about right here or a little bit lower you know and that way we ain't got that much further ago so that way we can kind of beat those idiots before they get in the truck and always we like to when this is jacked down we like to keep this out so that way if you forget it you can see it in the mirror when you check your mirror so it's like a safety net we got a couple hazard map plaques right here this one has several built on the inside and this is for the kind you can slide in and out that's for specific materials uh this is more for a broader base material so if it doesn't call for a certain number that you have to have on there sometimes it does and you have to have it in there sometimes you have to use both so it's nice that this truck has those this is our carrier apu or people call it a generator or whatever um we had one just like this on the other truck uh so far this one's been good we got around 12 to 14 000 miles on this truck as of right now and um so far we haven't had any problems with this sucker but the other truck uh we had to replace the capacitor a couple of different times and there was like we had to take it to carrier a couple different times just to have them work on that sucker but luckily it was under warranty so far so good here's the other 80 gallon tank that we got on this side there's some side markers i think people are calling them chicken likes i really don't know why i heard that from somebody else's video i was like what so in order to use these lights there's a toggle switch on the inside that we have to turn on just to turn these lights on it was nice on the other truck because they just came on when you had the parking lights on so you have to worry about it so this is where we fill up our water we added this hose right here just so that way we could reach a little bit more uh spigots whatever you call them there's two different water tanks in here i'm thinking this one's for the toilet and the sink and then there's a separate tank somewhere that's hidden that is for the shower and uh here's two different levers for that and they're currently off so that way i was just told that you need to have one off when you're filling up the other one so that's what i do i keep them off all the time and then we also added this little doohickey to the end of this hose we got from a nards where you just screw this on the spigot that you're using you screw it on there then you just slide this sucker on there so it's that easier otherwise you got to turn the whole dang hose and it sucks because you about cut yourself on this thing and then it's just hard to turn the hose because sometimes it undoes itself so this just saves a lot of time it saves me about 5-10 minutes because yeah that's just how it is also got our triangles in there it's even got a fancy light in there so if you're doing this at night time it helps you see what you're doing and also i believe that is the water pump right there all right this is our little cassette i think they call it not really sure porta potty thing the thing for the toilet pee catcher well wisher i don't know what you want to call this thing but this is what we use to dump out you push this little lever and then pull this sucker out and then it dumps out right there and then this is where we add chemicals for the toilet and a little bit of water and whatnot we push back in there and she locks not really sure how many gallons of pea this holds but it holds quite a bit i think we're good for about three days to seven days not really sure just depends on how many how we're doing on our fluids okay and uh we try to use the inside truck stops that way we want to dump this out as much because it's not as easy to find a place to dump this all the time and you just can't go to somebody's yard and dump it because i'm pretty sure that's illegal and you can get a big trouble for that so we don't do that here you can see a little bit of insulation that they added on here it's about an inch thick so it's probably about an inch thick all the way around the sleeper which is really nice on this sleeper because it really blocks out the generator a little bit and a little bit of the reefer unit so it makes a little bit nicer it's still pretty dang loud but that helps out a little bit and we'll take it the front part inside the cab it's totally redone the steering wheel has a lot of similar buttons as the other one cruise control except for this one has like bluetooth phone which we do not use because we have a headset and we hang it up on one of these things we got we added a bunch of these we absolutely love them we're not sponsored by them but you would think by all the crap that we have that we are but it's kind of cool it's like a tactical dash and we can put anything anywhere but yeah that thing's awesome but that's just the site now anyways you know there's actually a light for the headlight so you just hit the light and it turns it off just blinks it off uh so that's nice instead of turning your lights on and off and then it actually has the same thing for like your uh parking lights so when you uh go in front of somebody they let you in front of them or whatever you can thank them so that's pretty cool this one's for your brakes right here so whenever you press the brakes it tells you like the pounds of pressure and then this is the airbags for the box where you know your back axles so there's four airbags back there and when this is empty it'll say zero and we can turn the air off and on so we can have them filled up or take the air out and uh the only reason why we take the air out is for certain shippers the docks are a little bit lower than our truck for some reason so we just let the air out and that's why we do the things got power windows power door locks and uh power mirrors it even has heated mirrors just like the other one which is really nice we have a cd player and we actually it has serious satellite capabilities and we actually have a subscription so that way we always have a radio station and we're not distracted by trying to turn tune in to a radio station since we drive across the country so much you know we'll lose that station right away so at least this way we always have the set stations we know what number they are if we want to listen to it and there's a nice place for the cat to lay down they only lay up there though when we're stopped so it's convenient for them we have another gps up here this is the newer gps but i screwed it up when i tried to update it and take off the the dash video or the dash cam vids or whatever took off the voice and so that's why we keep this other one right here because it has the voice and we noticed like if we're not paying attention to this we'll miss our turn so that's why we have to have two and sometimes one or the other will have different directions to a place and sometimes the old one gives us better directions where it'll be a shorter distance and we're getting paid by the mile so it's good to win on both fronts so it's and you know uh it's kind of nice too when uh the co-drivers up front and they're able to help you out find like a truck stop up ahead for some whatever reason or if they need to go restroom right now they can grab one of the the uh gps's and they can punch it in you know i mean so and then since it's magnetic since we got it set up to be magnetic it's just easy for that person just to reach over and throw it on the driver can just mine their mirrors in the road and stay in the lane and keep on driving safely down the road and we have a dash cam right there we have a couple pin things we have a couple things to hold our sunglasses so this device right here controls our reefer we set what the temperature needs to be it records it to then on the other side on the door we had to cover up the door switches for the lock and the windows because sometimes when we get stopped um and have to uh go to the back the cats when they go up to the dash they go on the passenger side because they know they're not on the lat on the driver's side so they'll sometimes walk on the arm and hit the buttons and i've seen them open up the window so we had to cover that up so up top we've got a couple uh containers right here i'll set my hat we got kleenexes right there we got some napkins right there and the other one we have some latex gloves because the times or whatever and you know when we clean out the our little porta potty thing whatever you want to call that we have gloves for that and then we have a couple other containers up here it has like business stuff like seals for the back doors and then uh we also keep our paperwork stuff up here and then the side ones are a little bit bigger space this one has mostly like youtube crap in it jeep or gopro stuff what not and then these seats also have air ride so we can control up and down and how firm it is and it's got a little bounce to it you can make it firmer or whatnot you can fill up the back a little bit it doesn't have as many options as the other truck did but that's okay this is also a cloth interior which we actually like the cloth interior better because we had like it was either vinyl or leather in the other truck and we would get really hot it just felt like we had heated seats because there was no ac building in those seats so highly recommend ac if you're going to get leather seats or something like that because i know they've got some trucks out there like that so caleb and i are going to introduce you to our 110 inch bolt sleeper which was different than our last one which was a double a so with this one it's really cool because it's 14 inches long longer so there's that much added space and you can you can tell definitely in different places so the background we have a light gray color and our cupboards are black i think it makes for a very clean look and we really like how everything looks too the cupboards are very very deep if you can see let me actually show you this one this one has our like cat food and that kind of stuff in it and it goes all the way back here so these covers are very deep definitely you want to organize them with little totes and bins that definitely helps so just to kind of introduce you guys to our sleeper we'll start here and go around um so we have a convection microwave oven and grill which is really awesome because not only while you're over the road you can heat stuff up but you can cook and bake it it even has like a little rack that it comes with and everything so i haven't tried this one yet but the exact same one was in our other one and i did cook something in there and it was really awesome well i baked something in there so uh we have that there's cupboard space up and around so this is mainly for like kitchen stuff we have a tv over here and you actually have a little thing that you pull out so you can slide it out it's for a better view when we're laying down and watching tv and we did bring the dvd player from the other truck so because we do watch dvds and netflix and stuff while we're over the road um we do have a satellite we don't know if it's an in motion one um but it's not currently hooked up right now our sink is right over here and we do have a cover that's down there but we do have a cover for the tv for when we use the sink and in this one they actually did give us um the spout is a little close so we might later on a later date change that out so it's a little further out but we have a sink in here there's a couple of different holes on the back side uh so kind of use stuff that we would use like in front of the sink there's hand soap and hand sanitizer we have our temperature gauge over here too so it's easy to see this actually did come with a built-in spice rack and it's not totally thick so if you have like the bigger bottles they don't fit in there but we are opting not to use it just because we have a help a hepa filtered fan over here and that helps with like the cat hair and everything so we actually put a bunch of our just spices and other stuff is is in here so we've used this for different kitchen stuff we have the same fridge over here so we have a freezer and fridge combo and i have a couple more magnets then last time we've kind of showed you guys that um so we have the fridge in the freezer which is the same over here is where some of our controls are so the light switches are over here and it's kind of cool because at night this just has an led over here and then it shows up above where like the shower and stuff is as well um over here is where our inverter is so you would turn that off and on just on the corner and then we have this is where our ac is where we would turn that on and then this is for the fans and to have cold or heat over there and then we have kitty and kitty is actually since we don't use it all the time we actually have a built-in stove top that we have over here it's an induction one and so it does take certain pans on there we have this like uh popcorn a whirly pop if any of you guys know what that is and i'm so sad we couldn't use that um because it won't turn on so it's certain pans that it will work with but derek actually built this cover on here to cover it so that if the cats step on it they don't turn it on when we're sleeping or anything like that if the apu is on so we have that over there and then along this side right over here it's a couple of other controls that we have too so down here we have the lights and this is for the back bed part so one's for these lights which we really do like these they they're not overwhelming um but you get a clear view of everything and then the other light is for the lights right over here too and then over here this other switch this is actually where the water pump is high honey this is where the water pump is so if we are going to use the sink or anything we have to make sure we turn it on but the nice part is that the toilet that we have in here we don't have to turn that on before we flush or anything it just automatically uses the water for that but if we use the shower or the sink we do have to put that that switch on and then over here there's a couple of different outlets which is nice you have ones for your usb cables and then the different outlets this is for the satellite which like i said it's not hooked up so we're not currently using but something different than our other one we actually have with our windows on the other one the cover was on the outside but on this one you get the view of like the blind so it definitely looks a little bit more home home like so like when you lift it you have that cover and then you have uh the windows underneath which you have two of them there's one right behind derrick on that side and then one over here and they also have like a couple of small tiny cupboards over here on both sides there is a couple of vents over here this one is the functional one and then we have a couple of different cupboards which are above our heads so we kind of put stuff we don't use as much there just in case somebody's sleeping so um if you can't get to it when somebody is sleeping and then something different on this uh sleeper is the net so when we're sleeping this net stretches all the way over and it completely covers your body where the other one we had just like one belt so the cats like it they use it like a jungle gym or a hammock sometimes it's very entertaining in this truck we also have just a regular fan up here where there's no remote to it you actually have to reach up and turn it and hit the on button and so since it is a regular fan other than not having a remote with it it also does not have the sensors so if it starts to rain it will automatically close this one does not have that so you just have to make sure that you reach up there to turn it on and off over here we have a couple more controls we do have an s bar heater so that is where the control for that is and then our apu our generator control panel is right over here as well and then we do have a couple of outlets over here and there is some space on this side so i have like our glasses glass case over here some hand sanitizer cough drops if we need them so you have like that little ledge and there's also cup holders um like there's one right over here that you can put your drink in if you're sitting in bed or anything this bed is 48 inches by 78 inches so it's a pretty good size derek and i are both a little bit taller than the average and we can fit beside each other pretty well um it's not obviously a king-sized bed but it's not like a twin tiny bed either so it's a good size for both of us and definitely works underneath we have a table so when you set it up it actually folds up we're not going to do that just because we have kind of thick covered right cup or it's our thick covers right now but it does fold up and you do have a sitting area that has a table let's there as well so we actually use underneath it for like the cat litter just so it's out of the way over here we have the different switches for the shower so you have the light for the shower room and then you have the shower fan so here's a view inside our shower it's actually a pretty good sized shower i don't really have any problems with bumping into anything at all over here we have the shower here i'll go hang it in here we have the nozzle so like when you're taking a shower in here you're not going to stand in here for a very long time and have the water running the whole time this is for very quick showers so you turn on the water spray yourself off hang it back up suds up turn it on and it actually has a switch right here which is nice because um if you have the water set to your temperature you can turn it off okay anyways so you can hit that button don't forget to turn off the cold water but i think you guys get the point okay so you can do quick showers by turning it on and off by doing that little lever right there um and it's nice because you have your toilet paper right here and it has a cover so then um if you go to close it too it kind of winds it back up i did it too much sorry one second all right so it like winds it up and it covers it when you take a shower and stuff um and then our toilet is in here you have the flush over here and then you have the thing on the side that opens it and close it so you don't have that open smell of the toilet or anything which is nice we do keep our trash can in here not when we shower but it's in here so it's away from the cats and it's not moving around or anything like that and we do we did put some hooks up here so after we take a shower we want to hang up our towels they can hang up here we have our big coats up here and our safety vests are under here there's another row of hooks down here too and so like we have sweatshirts and stuff so it's out of the way and we usually keep our big bag of um what do you call it of like our clothes and our laundry is in here as well because there's still enough room if you want to just come in here real quick and go to the bathroom so let's go ahead and turn this off watch out kitty oh one more thing is that it has this when you're taking the shower if you pull this your door is obviously going to be closed and stuff this is where all the water falls and then when you open it it actually has a crease thing over here that wipes the um that wipes the door clean of the water that's on it so it's kind of like it's built in squeegee and we don't usually let the cats in there so caleb's a little bit curious derek what would you do if an alligator like came up i'll show you that is messed up
