2021 Jayco Jay Feather X17Z Walkthrough

hi everyone it's trevor olynyk from gnr camping world we are winnipeg's only rv care dealer and we have winnipeg's largest and most experienced rv service center uh today for our 50th anniversary sale standing next to this jayco j feather it's 2021 jayco jayfeather x17z i will let everyone know this is one only this is the last one we have it's all we have right now um and that's the case with a lot of the stuff that we have on sale for this event it's one of we have multiples of some but the supplies are extremely limited right now so i just want to make everyone aware of that i'm going to go through this unit show you some of the features and benefits that that this unit has and i'm going to start at the front work around the side here we'll go inside check it out you'll see what a great unit this is i'm also going to talk a little bit about the construction of this unit and what makes this uh jayco j feather a very well built with and comes with the best warranty in the business first of all i'd like to point out right at the front here the power tongue jack with the light on it as you can see power tongue jack is great you don't have to crank it up uh you know you just push a button it comes up back the truck under push a button goes down and if you're hooking up at night you got a night light in there a lot of times you don't get out of the city you had no camping with the family until after work and you get to the campsite it's dark here you got a little bit of light here okay what i'd like to the jayco jay feather my hybrids the bunk ends on these are second to none first of all they're rated at over a thousand pound capacity you can't see in here we'll probably look at that inside but there's aircraft cable in here rated over a thousand pounds on these bunks so that's that's a great thing for sure the other thing is is set up of these the material all your tent material is attached at all times right it's all attached here there's no bungee cords no velcro to worry about the setup is simple as drop the door down put one hook out and you're done it's that easy if this takes you more than two or three minutes to set it up you did something wrong it's really that simple the seal on this the size of this seal if you look at other brands cheaper brands i hate to say it but a lot of times the seal is half the size of this this is what's keeping the water out and keeping everything fresh and clean and dry inside so very good system here for sure and you just put that down you got the rain flap to keep everything away okay the hybrid and why do people go with hybrids you know what if you have a smaller tow vehicle these are a lot lighter they expand quite a bit they could sleep up to eight people in this particular unit anyways and still don't have to have the big massive three-quarter ton truck so that's why people like to go to hybrids plus you get a washroom in here don't forget to get the washroom okay you can go to the pop-ups pop-ups are great too we sell a lot of them but no washroom this is very family friendly and again you don't have to have a huge tow vehicle propane tanks two of them again some of these other brands out there they're putting one propane tank and no cover on it this has the hard cover of course we fill them that's part of our service to you we fill them here you're going going home with full propane tanks battery in the battery box right there again we put that in some of these other brands or other dealers sometimes they'll put a low price and doesn't include a battery doesn't include the full propane tank spare tires things like that there's the spare tire right there you can see that battery full brand new deep cycle battery in the in the case right there protective case storage a lot of hybrids have very very little storage this is wide open under here and you can't really see it but it is quite a bit wide open right under there so you can put lawn chairs barbecue barbecue comes with a barbecue by the way this actually comes with a barbecue i'm sorry we didn't set it up here but it is under there and it does come with it included that barbecue is actually plumbed right into the propane system so you don't need a separate bottle or anything very very handy magnetic latches right this is oop that's it there you go it's done close it down lockable as well right to protect your investment by the way all these locks on this unit and all jayco's nowadays key to like one key operates the top lock the bottom lock on the door the storage compartments everything one key you remember i used to have this big ring of keys and five six different keys for one trailer one key does it all here again back to the quality fiberglass there's a lot of different ways to build fiberglass some brands do it very cheaply and very very poorly and and have lots of problems jayco uses vacuum bonded technology i'm not going to go into a lot of detail but basically they're sucking all that air out of there it's the strongest most durable longest lasting sidewall in the industry yes you pay a little bit more for it but it's a true statement when you get what you pay for because it will last longer okay dark tinted windows safety glass right if something happens and this windows breaks it's really goes into tiny little pieces very dark tinted you can't see in here in the daytime it is very dark okay very handy and again that safety glass the awning the power awning so you just push a button this awning comes out you push a button it retracts and you have the led lights there as well also outside speakers so you've got outside speakers for this one if you're at the campsite and you want to play some music and you don't want to bring a separate radio the stereo is built in you can put the speakers in or out or both in and out okay even a little extra mount for a tv okay a lot of people like to use tvs while they're camping some want to put them inside some want them outside this actually comes with the mount that goes on the back of the tv also again going back to the jayco quality goodyear tires okay there's not many brands especially in this price range that are using goodyear tires these are goodyear radial tires they actually come with a five-year warranty it's unbelievable but yeah they use goodyear tires not just some no-name brand um let's let's continue on down here the other hybrid end we talked about that over a thousand pound capacity uh it's just so easy to set these ones up too i've seen some other hybrids where it's just so cumbersome and that's what takes the fun out of camping that's what makes me people want to just not have a hybrid you know what these ones are so easy to set up like i say if it takes you two minutes to two three minutes you've done something wrong it should just take a minute or two under 3 400 pounds this one is okay we got to remember that this is not 6 000 pounds seven it's under 3 400 pounds and can sleep eight people comfortably the aluminum steps right these fold up nice aluminum lighter and and doesn't corrode and rust you got the step tread on here for safety right it's a lot those steel ones some of those steel ones they're slippery as heck so this is very very safe and secure for the family for the kids to be going up and down well let's head in and check out and see what else we got inside come on this way the very first thing i notice when i come in is we have a fire extinguisher okay all of the units we sell are fully equipped with all the safety features fire extinguisher smoke detector carbon monoxide detector leak detector propane leak detector the queen size bed sleeps two people comfortably i can't stress enough remember over a thousand pound bunk capacity with those aircraft cables a lot of other brands they don't rate their bunks but this is rated at over a thousand pounds storage in this unit you've got cupboards all over the place there's even a cupboard behind you here cupboards under here even storage in the bathroom storage up here excuse me storage up here storage under the sofa storage under the booth and accessible with these doors right most of them they have you have to pick up the pick up the the bottom of the cushion here and get under there here you've got access doors speaking of doors and back to quality this is wood real wood real hardwood mortise and tenon joining amish built right in the factory at jayco a lot of other brands they're again there's price differences for a reason a lot of times what they're doing is they're taking particle board it's wrapped in paper to look like wood let's be honest how's our manitoba roads pretty rough aren't they this is why we stock the good stuff right jayco bouncing up and down the roads it's going to last a lot longer with real wood than particle board let's just be honest when you lift up the bunk and the booth cushions here you know what that's plywood not particle board okay that's very important this is why jayco offers double the warranty uh than any other brand this is a full two year warranty plus three years on the structure right most other brands it's one year that's it it's done of course we've got all the basic amenities any hybrids that we sell travel trailers that we sell you're gonna have fridge stove furnace air conditioning microwave again we talked about the power tongue jacks we have the big fan in the in the kitchen area here that moves a ton of air so if you're somewhere where you're camping and maybe you don't have electricity you can't run the air conditioner this will draw out a lot of the hot air so it's a very very nice feature to have but that's the other great thing about hybrids you zip down all these flaps here you got an incredible cross breeze it's a very very nice very nice feature of hybrids for sure what else well i mean you know we've got the pleated shades here you pull down the pleated shades remember i said it's got the dark tinted windows outside that's great in the daytime you don't need to put these shades down even because you can't see in but at night time if it's dark out and light in here well now maybe you have issues you know people can see in pull down these nice dark out blackout shades nobody can see it very nice easy to operate too not those rattly blinds that are rattling all over the place either and fall apart after a while um stove we've even got a not just a cook top we actually have a three burner cooktop here with the nice you know work surface here fold it up now you've got a backsplash you know you're frying up bacon whatever and it's not going to get on the wall three burners not two and it does actually have the oven not just this cooktop we got an oven so we can do you know the pizzas whatever on a rainy day and he's even a light in the oven they're all backlit lights there can use that at night time for a night light as well so that's a good thing how do we sleep eight people in here two on each bunk end two here because this folds down to a bed and then this folds down to a bed very easy to do too it's just pull the poles out put the bed down fold this flat you still have walking room between them and still sleep eight people stereo system this does come with a stereo system it is a bluetooth compatible it has hdmi input usb input it's it's it's a nice little system there for sure outside speakers don't forget so you can put the speakers on inside or outside the hot water tank on this is gas and electric not just gas no pilot lights to light same with the fridge gas electric no pilot lights to light you set it and forget it that's all there is to it even the furnace no pilot lights you just set the thermostat where you need it and it will maintain that temperature what else we got i mentioned all the safety equipment again fire extinguisher propane leak detector carbon monoxide leak detector and smoke detector here as well so um what else am i missing curtains privacy privacy curtains here right everyone needs a little bit of privacy at night time and dark too right so if someone's got some lights on in here it's gonna gonna keep out some of that light speaking of lights lots of lights in here i don't know if you can see all these lights there's lights here lights there lights they're all led lights so they're gonna burn a way less electricity if you're remote camping and relying on the battery here again the battery we provide but if you're remote camping and relying on that battery these led lights are going to last a lot longer and that battery is going to last a lot longer the other thing about led lights look at this that's not hot the old school and i shouldn't say old school because some brands are still using them but those old incandescent bulbs hot so now your air conditioner has to work harder or if it's a hot night and you're using no air conditioning that those hot lights they're going to add heat so it's harder to get rid of that heat it's rigged up for a tv this particular one doesn't come with a tv we order some with tvs some without some people don't want tvs or care about them but i mean we could put a tv in it's not the end of the world but it's all rigged up so that's why i say we could put one end it's very easy it's all you've got all your hookups built-in antenna on the roof you can hook up satellites whatever it's all pre-wired for that so it's very easy to do um well oh storage yeah i mean i know i showed some of the storage earlier lots of storage and again when people come from a pop-up trailer to one of these that's the biggest one of the biggest advantages is storage right people get a little you know i'm not putting down pop-ups sometimes people love pop-ups and you have to tow them on smaller vehicles but when you come from a pop-up to a hybrid like this your storage you pack it up the night before you can leave your dishes in you can walk in you can load that fridge up a couple days before whatever so the huge advantages of pop-ups over or hybrids over pop-ups again not putting down pop-ups they're great but the washroom also right have we looked inside that washroom not only do you have a toilet you also have a shower nice corner shower hot and cold running water of course you have a vanity with a sink and a medicine cabinet again some of these brands they're not putting all this stuff in there it's just a toilet maybe a shower no vanity no no medicine cabinet this one has it all you know i almost forgot to mention i wanted to show this off what do you think of this modern farmhouse interior okay they've got a i tell you they got their own on staff designers did all this dark cabinetry accented by the light cream color here uh you know it's got line glazing on on the cabinet doors i don't think it shows up in the video or not the glass inserts i you know what we see a lot of trailers here not even just the brands we sell i have i personally have never seen an interior like this this this looks like we're in a high-end hundred thousand dollar fifth wheel this is a hybrid here so um lots of outlets that's another thing i find jayco does very well is they put a lot of outlets i've got an outlet here in the kitchen area i've got an outlet by each bed there's an outlet in the bathroom there's outlets down here outlets over here again some of these brands they cheap out that way oh it's cost money to put in right and we also have here look at this right here we've got all of our controls one easy spot in the command center here you've got your lighting switches right here they're also each individually controlled so if you don't want them all blazing on you can control them just have one or two come on with this switch awning lights and it is a power awning don't forget right so i don't know let's do it why not here there it goes so that's how easy a power awning is to operate you can see the led lights on the outside as well right okay and then retract just that simple it it's you know what they've taken the work out of camping it's a beautiful thing all your tank levels are easily accessible right here tank and battery you know you got full battery fresh water tanks empty black all your controls one easy spot very easy to operate so in summary we've got a very very well equipped unit the power tongue jack the 220 pound propane tanks thousand pound bunk capacity comes with the barbecue comes with that tv mount the power awning with the led lights uh fridge stove furnace microwave air conditioning under 3 400 pounds and the jayco two-year plus three-year warranty and the reason they do that they just build them better than a lot of other brands how do
