2021 Football Swamp War Charlton hosts Clinch

[Music] [Laughter] [Music] from champ bailey field swamp war tonight we've got cameraman bro rylan down there he's on the field with the tribe you can't get any closer to the action than that ryland doing a great job down there on the camera this is he's flying solo tonight so rode nice shots tonight indians huddling up [Music] and telling don't get too close yeah i told him don't get too close now how about that footage right there you got the quarterback club there's a shot of the quarterback club they're down there beside the field house quarterback club you go down there and join pregame and i think they have some goodies and all over there as well right they got some stuff going on down there so go down there and support the quarterback club and from what i understand from jeff posted on your page that uh they also have a booth set up as you come in the gate that's right yeah they get so they have a booth set up on with a table which t-shirts for sale and some other goodies when you come in the front gate so we got a lot going on swamp or sammy how you doing man i'm doing good i'm fired up i'm ready yeah i'm trying to get this it's going to be a communication we did a coach murray show the other day where indians actually were ranked haven't been ranked in a while or number nine according to gpb but like coach murray said you can throw the records and everything out it's region play now it's time to get busy that's right you know it's kind of like he made mention to us kind of or you may mention to it kind of like the georgia florida game one team can be eight no another can be an o and eight but you can't go by records on georgia florida you can't get my records here we're trolling a clinch so would it be a good one yeah it's a new season tonight indians are 4-0 clinch comes in at 1-3 which is surprising to me but uh all that it doesn't matter is everything from it used to matter when we had the power rankings those previous four games were as big as the region games but now with no more power rankings top four go to the playoffs so it's our season starts tonight that's right it's almost like the first three four games you know non-region games almost kind of like scrimmage games because they don't really matter they matter in overall standards but it doesn't matter in the region standing so it really starts for real tonight you're essentially thank you you're uh this is the clinch roster you're essentially playing four pre-season games now that's right yeah yeah for almost just about it you know you're getting a good four-game warm-up before the for the real ones start so ryan's doing a fantastic job down there man he's you can't get any closer to the tribe than he's than he is right now he's right there at him yeah i thought he would kind of stay away a little bit he's doing doing good so far yeah he's doing a good job he was pumped up yeah he wasn't glad to have him they're really excited about it and uh finally getting to utilize that camera man i've just been we're a week week five and i finally get to put it to work full-time i like i mean it's got a really good picture really good really good video that's a beautiful yeah it is it really is i'm excited we've got our uh sister station you know we're part of the back road sports network and uh creek box is on the other side of the field so i'm gonna welcome baron sutton and his crew that's right yeah place we we do a lot of stuff together so it's a yep it's a rivalry but we're still friends that's right glad to have them here yep so what we've got going on tonight we know we know uh on running game jaylen lilly the last two ball games in particular he has just gone off offensively and defensively yeah as i was looking at some some numbers the other day for the first four games and i think he's close to 600 yards rushing um he's had over 100 and i think 110 or 20 yards the last two or three games in a row um offense line has been doing just a great job blocking um even with you know one of our starters been out the guys would come in and step in on the lovey kid uh just doing a just doing a great job of blocking and you know along with the other four guys and jalen's doing a good job running i mean he's not just running through holes he's running hard and he's hitting people and he's not getting tackled on the first first contact how about king he uh he's getting it done with his feet and hitting key passes when it's time to hit him i mean not hitting a lot of passes but it seems like he's hitting the ones that turn out to make the difference in these ball games yeah that's right i mean you know he's he's been averaging about 10 to 12 passes a game 10 through the game and he's been about 50 to 60 um but i said he's doing most of it with his legs um he's you know he's had some really key throws on third downs and four let's downs and get that done especially with his legs yeah some huge runs the last couple of weeks out of out of king out of the quarterback spot that's right you know he got mentioned you mentioned in the coach murray show the other day if he ever gets behind you you know he's tall six foot three but if he gets behind you it's going to be hard to catch him he's he's fast yeah yeah how about elias elias williams he he was uh he's going to play for an all-star team here um freshman i guess he's a freshman team i'm not sure what exactly it is but he's been selected to play up an all-star game up north yeah i've seen that um i'm sure he's proud of that you know that's a that's an honor i mean as a freshman and he really hadn't you know he's been really good on defense and he's starting on the offense but he hasn't really caught a lot of passes but somebody sees what they like and um their congratulations to him that is a tall young list and here coach murray on the coach murray show this week that we did from maidens field that uh he's looking for elias to be a defensive end yeah i heard that yeah so he's gonna hit that weight room hard man and he's done good i mean you know he's played a lot on defense i think i've seen him defensive end and maybe some linebacker or maybe a down lineman he's done a really good job yeah he's a and well i'll tell you what if he can put that weight on he's only a freshman yeah can you imagine him at six six and you know 260 something like that on defensive thinking my goodness he's gonna terrorize people yeah when coach stones get through with him get through with him in that weight room he'll he'll gain weight get some muscle on him he might be charlton's version lawrence taylor might be a couple of years a real big kid by his junior senior year there's a lot of excitement around the ball team but we're in region play now there you see the indians are huddling up down there i'm excited about that shot man i know i'm a geek when it comes to this stuff everybody knows i i'd eat drinking sleep csn yeah my wife doing a great job down there he'll be down there for a pre-game and band of pride at halftime that's right so yeah he has to come back up during the game we don't want to get get anybody in trouble down there on the sidelines we're working on it though maybe uh maybe we can get him down there like maybe the fourth quarter or something yeah and if the game's tight hopefully the game's not tight hopefully we're running away with it and it's over by then but if not we've already been in two tight games we have two top games you know we've had the lead first couple quarters of games and wound up either get being tied or getting behind in the in the third and fourth quarter and bowed up and really play some good ball what do you look for out of the panthers tonight they they've uh they've adopted the spread this year they have i mean you know i really hadn't seen or heard a whole lot about their offense other than going through the spread you know they've always been pretty predominantly a running game so i'm expecting them to probably throw it in and try to run it tonight rudder will run and try to throw it some i think uh i think our defensive front i'm hoping they have a big game tonight yeah they've had they've had good games all year on renfro and we get oxford we get ogbarr back tonight so that's gonna help out on the defense oh you know he was out last week he hurt his leg a little bit he'll get him back we got some studs back too yeah so a good time to get him back right before that's right right before region play i'm watching the uh panthers do warm up down there that is so weird seeing them in a spread yeah yeah we're used to that five play offense they've run forever that's right yeah down there watching them on the field or you know they're going through some of their plays and their quarterback looks like looks like he's got a pretty good arm he's been pretty accurate through uh also throwing the ball a coach said they'll go back to that old offense every once in a while yeah that's what he said yeah if something's not clicking i guess they go back to it go back to what they know right yep one thing about the spread it spreads the defense out but you definitely have to have a quarterback to operate that thing that's right yeah you do you gotta you know you got options of throwing the ball running the ball um you got to be opponents from class aaa and class a the indians come in with a 4-0 record and has the number eight composite ranked team in class a public the winner of this game is going to take a big step towards securing a playoff spot and potentially a region 2a football championship dating back to 1952 this is the 71st meeting between these two teams the indians lead the series 35 wins to 34 losses with one tie the teams last met in 2020 in home reveal and the indians pulled off a thrilling 18 to 14 win and they looked to start a streak tonight with a win in the swamp we welcome clinch county high school
