first conference game of the season and trinity valley want to know in conference play with a 27-10 win over neo and today another conference game and this time tjc comes to town to bruce field in just a blown coverage but you could play off a little bit and give them little chunks here and there they still need eight trinidad trinity valley four down lineman bow do you think uh excuse me booty trinity valley four down lineman showing pressure coming from the left side and here he comes he has to step up and throw it away incomplete and credit that to the defense of trinity valley bringing pressure to booty's right side and i think they're going to say they're trying to say maybe his intentional grounding maybe but i believe he got outside the pocket let's see i don't know what they say they're not gonna no no flag on the field so he was outside the pocket when he threw it it's gonna bring up fourth down here marcus and six to go they got to go for it yeah they do they got to go for one more time out for the one more time out for tjc cardinals up by eight marcus at 57 ticks of the clock left and ball security is very important right here too because you know tjc is going to be here 52 seconds left here and i think everybody's booty's clenched right now 31-23 8-point game and you really hope right now that uh illegal shift is the call okay it's gonna be third down it was declined so they do save one time out here the runner did go out of bounds which you really don't want to do that you should have just slid in and stayed in bounds there certainly a run play coming here davis the quarterback davis again davis crosses the 45 to the 44. he's gonna bring up fourth down time out on the field and 30 second timeout charge to tjc the last one there well they're just stopping the clock at this point i don't think they go to the sidelines i don't think but there they go trinity valley huddling up on the sidelines here and you got fourth down and three you know right here i think i might be a riverboat gambler and go for it right here and burn some time off the clock you definitely have to go for it they have no timeouts left and the top the clark's going to keep running here so even if they do get it it would be a hope and a prayer for them to score so you know i'd be kind of curious to see what this play is going to be called though i tell you what it's one of those uh decisions right here whether you run it do you throw it you know maybe you uh let the tight end loose they're expecting to run and throw it through the tight end maybe who knows i think i'd run it i'd put montavious hunt out there and just let him go and he is out there fourth and three let's see 44 seconds left tjc no timeouts remaining here davis the quarterback davis is going to throw the ball to nathan jones just what i wanted oh and jones gets the first down that'll be the ball game right there how about that jones throws the hand up for first first i tell you what i think i i think i was in coach's mind right there oh they saying go molokov down there oh my the victory formation from the cardinals down how sweet it is take a knee the cardinals will move to 4-0 overall 2-0 in conference play and my that'd do it the cardinals will be home next week against cisco at three o'clock p.m folks don't miss that one that's going to be a key ball game for the cardinals as they keep driving forward and moving on up and in polls folks number seven and surely hopefully the cardinals move up in the polls but this is a tough conference you go week by week here as i'm sure coach potato or any coach would tell you but a great win tonight uh keeping the quarterback booty well with under 200 yards passing i'm sure maybe even less than 150 so great job tonight by the cardinals and we're going to be joined by coach reed the head defensive coach for the cardinals coach reed talk about your victory and hey i know you're going to say well we probably blew some assignments i know what you're going to say already but your your defense did limit booty the the hottest passer in the conference so far to a minimal amount of passing yards tonight how do you feel about that i feel pretty good considering we just figured out how to shoot ourselves and our foot every turn and we still came out with it i mean you know that was the game plan force him to make some decisions uh we knew that you know they couldn't put it on his shoulders yeah but they were trying to and it was our job just hey guys do what you're supposed to do you know that last touchdown i'll be honest with you that was me out thinking myself and trying to like hey they're going to run the book they're going to run the football here let's stop it because it you know what have they done every time they had fourth down they ran the football right you know what i mean we went man coverage and they ran what we had practiced all week but of course we didn't practice for that contingency with the sam linebacker having to say oh i need to go cover that guy because they were looking for the guy coming to the flat so yeah it all worked out um it's you know and a conference win another conference win and that's what i told them i was like hey guys you know hey each week i don't care from this point on i'm gonna be you know the mean guy in the building and get on you and not you and we're you know we're you know we're going to have to show a little discipline and do what we got to do uh but you know hey a dub's a dub love sir love how the offense came out in the second half and asserted themselves kind of shortened the ball game for us a little bit by running the ball uh and and i tell you what the guy that really came out and just had like a coming out party was cordell david yeah it was a hell of a coming out party for a kid that we didn't think was gonna play this week and all of a sudden he's back and he's like he's i don't know what miracle water he's drinking he looked like the energizer bunny out there to me i tell you and you know just a great job all around by you know we didn't talk about this too much but a lot of entries last week to the cardinals and you guys had guys to step in and keep positions and fill the spots and just keep going that's a big win for a team that you know you had as many injuries you guys had this week it was a huge win and you know what that's you know that's the thing about it we keep telling these guys and it's always been our motto next guy up yeah next guy up you know and and i i told the defense i said you know this is going to be tough on you guys this week but it was tough because you know for the what nobody really realizes is the last two um offensive coordinators that they've had have been professional or division one guys yeah yeah that uh and that's that's been huge you know they you know they try to come in and i tell them all the time i'm just this little lowly defensive coordinator and i am the kids do the great job they do all the heavy lifting they did a great job tonight and i i got to get down there and tell them thank you yes sir yeah and there's no saying uh you put your pants on one leg at a time just like anybody else does so good job tonight coach all you coaches great job and we're proud to be here today again and a great win for cardinal nation well thank you for h uh s h n coaches did and tonight and the players stepping up and listen just like we said losing those key players marcus the way trinity valley did and they'll be back probably for next week some of them will be gonna be on but you had players step up and fill the rolls tonight and get the job done and that's really it doesn't say i mean you can't speak enough volume about what they did to overcome those injuries and win this ballgame tonight that's what people don't know yes sir so now you know but trinity valley does it at home folks at bruce field and athens texas win by eight points 31-22 our
