2020 Football Indians host Brantley

a little bit of color commentary as well we're excited i want to welcome sammy to the crew tonight also we have matthew spradley down on the sidelines he's our csn photographer for this evening tammy is tied up out at our store so she couldn't make it tonight but matthew spradley has stepped up this evening senior at tarleton county high school he'll be with us this evening for photography sammy really enjoyed it i was kind of looking forward to this day it's going to be a lot of fun we're excited by indians football tonight you folks at home it's going to be a little different than normal as you can imagine with the covet and everything they're doing uh a limited i would call it a limited pregame ceremony nothing like what we're used to but you see the camera shot there with the seniors are going to be recognizing the seniors in just a moment leading the way will be number 57 then uh 55-57 is uh let's see here 57 is mason warren 55 is burroughs khalil burroughs 12 is wittenberg 17 is football man i am ready i'm glad they're doing this so i'm adam the first game just in case some aw i think happens they want to have council in the season at least the seniors will be recognized i'm excited i know you are too man it's gonna be a lot of fun we were right up until just a few weeks ago we weren't sure if we're gonna be bringing football this year but uh the ghsa they they stayed on their september fourth date and it looks like everybody's starting actually had a ball game start last night in georgia and uh so we're we're very pumped for that before they get started down there i want to mention our thoughts and prayers go to the family of tommy palmer voice of georgia high school football for many years over there on radio for the georgia high school scoreboard show just want to send our thoughts and prayers from charlton county and csn out to the palmer family yeah that's all that ominous quite sad prayers to his family all right right now i'm going to turn my mike turn council at this time i would like to recognize the seniors members of the 2020 indians football team tony cobb to quan harrion dj martin tristan herron braden wittenberg brad the following are the senior members of the 2020 2021 cheerleading squad kinsley mcdowell a member of the kansas of christ chloe morgan taylor murray taylor is also a member of the band of pride brook's body the following senior day got here seniors would be recognized so that's i agree with that's a good thing happening you certainly don't want what what happened last spring when everything got shut down all of a sudden and those seniors you know they didn't get recognized until basically till the virtual graduation and stuff you know the spring war you know our spring athletes right that's you know that's a good thing so i'm glad you're doing that yeah charleston getting ahead of the game on that lord willing we won't have to worry about it this year but uh it's good that they got that out of the way mr tommy palmer who was the founder and former host of the georgia high school school board radio show and if you've been a football fan in georgia over the last few decades then you probably listened to him on the way home from away games he passed away last night we want to honor his memory this evening uh number 69 for brantley out at midfield board of war coming up man yes sir it's it's turned into quite a robber last two or three years too they've been trading blows with brantley county there's been a lot a lot of good hit in the last two or three years between these two teams a lot of good hitting i know we had a long run of dominating them in the last few years they've their program's caught up caught up and uh we've got to do a little vengeance from last year samuel i think they've gained a little bit we may have dropped back just a little bit as far as size goes but right a lot of good hitting county will start out on offense indians will receive the opening kickoff the tribe has the ball first we'll get to see dusty phillips new offense right out of the gate we'll remind everyone that these seats that have numbers on these middle section seats with numbers on them ago for the indians we talked about nathan a little bit on the coach murray show the other night 44 on the punt for the herons that is cameron allen deep to receive is 22 jamari hamilton and four there's a snap no pressure good puck hamilton fills it about the 24. jamar has got to hold that far side still on his feet oh gets back to midfield for the indians hamilton hamilton a freshman sammy i they're playing with more life tonight you know last year they do they really everybody's moving there's a lot of energy on the field a lot of energy in the stands going to his left shoulder down to about the four maybe about the five yard line third and about a long one adam for the indians parents had hit pursuit that time from the inside looks like he's gonna have a first down easy but they stopped him short king takes the snap hands off the cub up the middle still on his feet tripped up he's gonna have a first down down to the one first and goal truck that was a good play a little bit 12 carries and only 30 yards no touchdowns so the run defense for the indians is really sticking their helmets in there and i got three receptions for six or sixteen yards passing game for the brantley county herons uh brandon they would get one first down in the first half one first down on the charleston side in the passing game i got jalen king down for 19 90 yards and one touchdown 9 for 16 for 90 yards and one touchdown rushing jaylen king three carries for seven yards tony cobb five carries 12 yards and one touchdown receiving kamara williams two for four yards kyla williams three for 30 yards tony cobb three for 11 yards and naji smith one for 30 and one touchdown also in there you got a 91 yard touchdown return there as well you got 27 craig carline 44 and nathan johnson involved in the safety for the indians yeah with a tackle in the end zone also tony cobb with a 60 yard kickoff run for score for the indians so the the stats there and the scoreboard mirror one another uh great great first half for the indians just on the brandon county side just not able to get a whole lot going so far so maybe these stats will carry over to the second half and and they'll stay like they are well it's been a stats game tonight haven't it yes i'll tell you what after last year with the first game wasn't sure i didn't think we'd do 30 tonight i thought felt like we would win based on what uh what we did during the soap game with the offense and the up tempo but i sure didn't i didn't see 30 points on the board one half what a night for the indian so far yeah it really is i mean you know you look back last year and we pretty much took a boat whipping down and we did it down there last year and i think they probably coming out a little revenge on the side tonight and i'm gonna tell you that offense i've been kind of keeping the seconds in between each play for trolling about 11 seconds is what it's taken so that offense is really clicking and you look at the players there seems to be no confusion at all yeah everybody seems to be on the same page the coaches the players offense is really just running smooth tonight and i think we can look forward a lot of big plays in that passing game we've had three three wide open draws tonight or three that's right with that 91-yard kickoff return and they haven't let off the gas that's right it's been it's been fun tonight for sure defensively defense has been tough and offense has been wide open and doing pretty much what he wanted to do tonight yeah dusty dusty wasn't uh trying to sandbag on me the other night when he told me he said we're gonna play fast and score faster and that's exactly what they've done so far in this first half how about the defense man that i mean they're pitching a shutout right now it's still still a whole half a football to play but the defense is playing aggressive they're going after it they're gang tackling they really are i mean they're in the backfield every play the quarterback backs up and he has he has no time back there to set his feet and do anything he's having to scramble for his life on every play because defensive defensive line is really getting through the line of scrimmage and putting a lot of pressure on that quarterback i know killed kill kill burroughs has been in the backfield nathan johnson's been back there with some huge place talk about nathan again i know you had some stats over there on him with the tackles and so forth i got nathan for eight solo tackles so far in the game and i got braden wittenberg um five tackles with a former recovery and craig carlisle and i believe it was nathan johnson involved in a safety as well so nathan johnson's been everywhere leading seven tonight over there he is leading the team with a tackle so far he's having a career or not now the indians they have next friday night off so we get all pumped up and we gotta take a week off and then they go uh then they travel up north to long county we'll we'll be up there live for that one as well so i haven't seen anything on long county night but i do have some other scores sammy got a glenn over macintosh at the half 14 and up savannah christian over uci to have 21-7 and making over clinch at the half 14-7 yeah that's some interesting scores around the region that's clint's game sound like was a pretty good app first half anything stand out to you here in the first half i mean they've been clicking on everything i really like that offense i mean there seems to be no confusion at all i mean they're when the play's over with the line of scrimmage gets back on the line quarterback and the receivers get set and like i said about 11 10 11 seconds what it's taking to get a playoff and there seems to be no confusion it seems like everybody's just on the same page and they're just about been able to do what they wanted to do really really surprised and yeah and the seat offensive runway it is it is surprising because last year you know we were in a different offense this year we come out in this uh fast-paced spread that coach phillips has brought here from cartersville and uh they've really well they had they had the covert break so they really didn't have a regular offseason to learn this offense they basically had when they could were allowed to go back what in early august that's right when they were allowed to go back they've been they look like they've been doing it all year that's right and you know just like always the defense needs to be really fast again this year yeah real quick not real big but here real quick he's uh i know coach phillips and coach murray have had a short amount of time to install this offense but they've made it simple simple enough that these guys can execute it quick and fast and that's exactly what they're doing yeah it's really really impressed me so far i give a lot of credit to the quarterback as well mr king you got a pretty good arm just been a couple oh i'm sorry you know what i just got corrected on that i thought i was uh that's not khalil that's assad akbar number 50. i'm sorry i just got corrected on that ricky ricky carter corrected me
