happy Friday everybody this is the Andrea Mueller here at our headquarters in Springfield Missouri we did a live video with an international truck up at our Pittston Pennsylvania terminal a few weeks ago and we wanted to redo that video and capture this guy who are you come on over gonna be in the video no he doesn't okay so anyway we wanted to give our international truck reps a chance to be in a live video since the other one we did was with our associates up in Pittston shout out to Richard to help to that video always changed his mind you coming back yeah you wanna be any no he does okay so we're gonna show you the International 2020 truck model we have Jana and Steve that are with us from the International company and we're gonna walk over there now so behind you behind me you can see our headquarters here in Surrey from Missouri it is a gorgeous day and the Sun actually came out which is perfect and we are going to walk towards the truck here so let me flip this around alright so if you're just tuning in we are about to hello we were about to see the 2020 truck international truck with our reps Janet and Steve if you have any questions about the 2020 model you can comment below and we will have them answer them hey guys how's it going alright what's your name Janna Meyers and she is our fleet for fleet Support Coordinator I knew is a big long name and you're in and you're with summit and you're being a far building down awesome so you said on-site it's been Springfield great well we already have our first question Matt vana said do the trucks come and standard or are they all auto and you know when you're backing up there's none of that lurching none of that lunging so there's a world of difference okay great so tell us about your truck you got here okay fantastic so this is the 2020 model International LT tractor the first thing that you'll notice am I too close now you're getting it the first thing that you'll notice is a lower profile on the truck than previous models so they have completely redesigned the front end of this truck line of sight out of the window for safety reasons and ferd in for drag much better in this model than it has been in the others the other difference that they have committed attractiveness instead of 100 run to the back you can three uses doesn't sound like a hook line 50 yeah you're good doesn't sound like a whole bunch but where they gained the room is they were able to move the engine forward a couple of inches by doing that and that gives you more room inside the cabin of the truck inside the cab itself so there's at least two two and a half inches more legroom which makes a big difference great so the other things that we've done to this model over other models they've changed the business here they're much nicer much more aerodynamic and a quite a bit solidly than the way they used to be on a three point system these are a lot nicer the other thing that they've done is we went from C glued mirrors on the outside of the doors and we went to the single pedestal mirror now our competitions been there for a while with those but I know when they first come out we were elected to the way they were fastened in the truck but these are very sturdy if you get a hold of one of these things I mean you can shake the entire truck mentality so they are very solid very sturdy no vibration going down the other thing is the deeper front bumper to push the air down below the truck and you'll notice underneath here there's a plastic air dam that keeps that air you know from getting caught up inside the undercarriage of the truck the other thing that Prime did and this was their choice we had chrome grills a couple years ago now they've gone to this black outlet I was a little worried about that but now I like it yeah I like a temp we get a lot of good feedback on it several of the colors look really sharp new headlight design on the trucks these particular headlights are halogens these and the fog lamps are halogens there is an LED option my understanding is though that the halogen on high beam and the drivers could tell me better than I know that the halogen still cuts through fog that will get a lot of feedback on that see that's actually they also changed on the trucks before it was a rubber strap that you had to kind of horse down get the hood open now it's a damn walking hook on the on the hood so it is much easier to close much easy and on the on the drag or the aerodynamics of the truck you know you can see now down the side of the truck they come all the way down here they change these extenders from 18 inches to 22 inches and this is a much more rigid composite material here than past models so when it is flared out to move the air around the trailer and then they also did the same thing on the fuel tank skirts they flared it out right here so it would also leave the air we have access to the batteries you can get to your AC and batteries right here and obviously if you needed to get all the way in and take them out you would be taking off the skirts but this is a way to at least to get to the post on the batteries additionally back here best advice jump start studs right here on the frame so we've got the JumpStart studs JumpStart studs on the back of the frame rails the other thing that we've done on this model is we've moved the CB antennas to the back of the cab now they were on the pedestal of the near County in between the mirror and the Lindo but what we run into that that especially on the passenger side is that meant that that antenna kind of whips in the wind and it's just a constant movement in the corner of the road so moving them back here takes away that distraction they're actually mounted higher in the air and the drivers tell me that they get better reception we have a question from John Schultz he said did they fix how hard it is to backup in the automatic I had a 2017 extremely difficult felling thanks John for asking that question so Eaton made the equal advantage and now they've gone to the Eaton endurance the enduring is the 12 speed the old one was a 10 speed so am i understanding and I've never delivered a load of freight but I have been with a lot of drivers over the years and they got in this truck including many of the prime drivers and they got into this truck there was an immediate difference in the ship the clutch plate is made out of the soccer [Applause] materials you'll notice an immediate difference when you get in courage everybody get in the truck we're hiding the truck you'll feel the difference the things that you're going to notice immediately but the fact that I did is visibility out of the windshield because of the change in the eight colors in the mirrors much better visibility the thickness the size have inside speaking of that sebum Bollinger said what his size of the sleeper so we have a 56 and a seventy three inch now this one is the skyrise which goes all the way up inside of the gap we also make a mid roof which is some that we will head run it several years ago in your white wings but this one's the 73 much okay and then Jeff Johnson said what are the options for a lease driver with this truck to my knowledge this group is five hundred units in this room and I don't think that they're making any options on that they'd have to run that perfect Eugene Darren Liu said did they fix the issue with driving down the road and when coming through the door jambs yes Eugene Eugene thanks Eugene so the door is much stiffer when they designed this door on the track they doubled the stiffness of the morning it is a significant difference the other thing that they did is they doubled the size of this this gasket around the door and they cupped the top of the door forward so when you shut this door now you'll notice it immediately it is a much tighter big difference yeah okay all right so you're just tuning in we're in a 2020 international truck model with the international truck reps Steve and Janna and if you have any questions just comment now we are gonna look at the interior of this truck okay why don't you get in the driver's seat yeah can you see us yep all right fantastic so they have completely redesigned the dash of this truck the new LT so what they did is Navistar got with a few hundred drivers and did an interview with these drivers and they asked him give us your top issues with the truck the improvements that we can make so the drivers you know of these few hundred drivers they come up with thousands of different ideas of what they would like to do some of those ideas was you know canting if you will the wing panel here where it comes around and they can see it just a little bit better and by picking up an extra two inches inside the cab with the longer bumper to back a cab it allowed them to do that and then they moved a whole bunch of the switches and you know switches that you don't use multiple times an hour you know like your like your air brakes air braking and your service brakes those they moved further away and the the knobs that you have to move the most they put much closer just a driver centric approach they put different buttons on the steering wheel so you got your cruise control up there you've got all your bluetooth up there all your interrupter lights are up there prime specs the virtual package so we've got that five and a half inch display which there is a smaller model of that but the five and a half is the deluxe model so that display in the middle especially for drivers that have that you can toggle through an assortment of virtual gauges one of the gauges that's on there you toggle all the way to the right side it's truck you click on select for the truck and then it'll take you down it'll take you down that toggle switch will take you down to where you can see your axleload at the time of the truck and I know that they put in you hear it crying you guys put in a smart way gauge that also does that but we have a virtual digit takes care of that also another thing that they did that the drivers wanted they were constantly you know setting something up here cell phone sunglasses and they slide across the dash whenever you're making a turn they put an actual tray right here and you can set stuff inside the tray keep it at hands reach it's very nice the rocker switches on the panel and all of the index switches they click very tight can you hear that mm-hmm yeah there's there's a definite click to those so in the past models it was more of a rotary dial without that so the indexing is very nice on the switches the other thing they do is they're all backlit so at night all the switches light up in addition to that in the past they were not laser etched these are laser etched clean through the switch so it will never wear off you'll see some of the aged trucks where they have touched them so many times I start to show wear that is not the case on me yeah very very nice so we're very happy with it good we have a couple more questions and walt jenkins said is the highway horn still on the steering wheel the when he says highway horn there's a city horn on the steering wheel I think this is a good horn if you look up at the top of the a-pillar there's a cable go ahead and pull that so Navistar has gone back to an air horn with the lanyard up on it which was another one of the things that the drivers asked for what's the regular boring something sad for the drivers really wanted to lanyard with the air horn and that's what they got you'll also notice in the a-pillar they put a speaker in there for your bluetooth oh so before that was over here on the other side and you kind of had to you kind of had to talk pretty loud now it's up here where you can just talk at a normal tone and you can hear it quite well the other thing is right above Jana's head is a speaker for the CB so that that is dedicated to your CB which we put as a weak Prime Radio accommodation packing CB radio accommodation package in every trap we do have another question from Matthew Roberts he said is the axial load accurate or can it be calibrated if it is off yes great great question it can be calibrated it is it does give a two and a half to three percent variance which on a 34 thousand pound axle rating you're looking at about a thousand pounds that it can vary but two to three percent it's kind of an industry standard so that's not far off but that's that is what it is so a good question let me point out some storage real quick great so they've got storage up in here oh my gosh live video they come and they come with shelves did fall that you hold that because I can barely see in here that's the beauty of life yes there it is a paper towel holder in here which has been very very popular here Ivor spill anything they can access the paper towel holder they put storage all along the top they put netting around it they've put storage right here that the driver can reach without having to move much as long as you're not driving I understand but at least they didn't reach up there without taking their eyes off the road additionally Andrea back here in the back whoa we got more stuff for more in the new truck doc you switch spots here yes so they've put tower wardrobe cabinets on each side we have a lower tower wardrobe cabinet down here this is the one with the hooks in it on the top side for your hangers they've also incorporated the steps inside of this one to get up into the bunk Oh interesting yes well some of the other models you know they've got an add-on ladder or something like that Navistar didn't take that approach this this is actually built into the truck with a grab handle here and you just step up so it's completely reinforced it's got the tread plating here for that and most people will tie down a microwave on this side is what we've seen in many of the trucks on the other side they've left this blank this is a prime request they put dorm size refrigerators in here instead of the small ones that come in to cabinets I think the drivers prefer the bigger ones yeah so that leaves them the ability to do that what we also do is we put the TV antenna and power source up here so they do have that already wired into the truck then we've got tower storage that goes all the way up here you can take the shells out as we did on the other one and there's also clothes hangers up there or hanging bar up there on those they've also put storage underneath here and on the other side so you can get a lot of stuff inside that interesting there's also small items storage on the back wall if you can see that cubby back there that allows you to set stuff on the top there's a lot of different stuff yeah they've they've put a lot of storage in these trucks in fact the only place that's left is where the microwave and the TV would set on top of this and they got stuff in there yes that is true so this is one of the largest bunks in the industry and a seventy three inch sleeper this is a 42 inch mattress on the bottom it's a 37 inch mattress on the top now Navistar went away from and I'm going to open it up just a second but Navistar went away from the flip up bunk you could push it up having the larger mattress you could not flip it up without hitting the ceiling so that stays like that all the time it stays like this all the time it is rigid there's no rattling it just doesn't fold up but even with a mattress on here when you sat down I mean there a significant difference you know distance up here yeah yeah so and it looks close to the video but it's a good amount it's a lot I mean there's guys in getting here six five six six they don't hit that's what I john Ogrin send that I'm six six and could stand fine in my midriff international lightweight and he also likes a paper towel holder he said yes in the mid roof I can't wait to the day that he gets in this new LT with the skyrise and all of that you'll really like it you'll like the ride you'll like the visibility he'll enjoy the truck Lorenzo Riedel said you sold me I loved my freight liner but this truck is very nice man no we paid him to say that you know it is cool I'm kidding another thing that Prime does they put the controls for the sleeper back here so when you're in the back bunk you can turn up the HVAC you can turn up the radio you can change the channels you can do the lighting back here so they put a switch back back here in the back they also put the premium sound in with the additional speakers back here so Prime has done a really good job I mean there are a lot of options that they've put on this truck that are special options also on the lighting they have the low whip so that was driver turns on the light and you are sleep hit that hit the one that's got the foot on it over there yeah so that'll turn on a red light down here can you see the red I think you're gonna say this but the storage is just right there here and then you've got storage on this side in both places the guys already have the APU and everything in it huh no no no well it may have the APU mounted outside prime mounts the APU they do that in-house okay I know in another video somebody was saying that some of the storage that that truck was showing was actually gonna be filled up with them yeah now they may do that I haven't been through their install process over there on these trucks particularly the only thing that we have back here is the HVAC system so it uses up some of your storage now it's all about you know how many cubic feet do you have in this cab area so I know some of them put it underneath here or the where our clothes go so it doesn't matter where you put it the HVAC gotta go somewhere they just like to put it right there gotcha somebody asked sorry I lost you asked it but somebody said where would DTV go so so what we've seen is they put a refrigerator in here and then I set that on top okay now if we start ordering a cabinet it comes with a place to secure it right onto the cabinet there's also an option for a flat panel that we can put in here that you can move the flat panel around and it'll hold like a okay um Gregory and Christopher asked is the qualcomm mounted on the dash or where's that mountain no if you come here Andrea today again prime installs this and there's where they put the three different things on here for the security for the right way gage and then your Qualcomm and your army tryouts so and they haven't tied up the wiring and this one they just brought it out here yeah that one's yeah well one other one other feature yeah I've seen a mounted in multiple places but again that's done by Prime when they bring it over so also in these trucks another add-on that they order is the curtains the privacy curtain that goes all the way around the windshield okay so you got a privacy curtain that comes from both sides and it meets in the middle and that gives you this entire cabin for privacy in addition to that we have a curtain that goes across here if you've got people in the front and a co-driver in the back great yeah that's a big deal to people you vent gives them additional privacy the other thing that I know about this vehicle and again I've never delivered a single load but when I get in with other drivers and when I deliver trucks this engine is significantly quieter than the previous models this is the a 26 engine it was specifically developed for the day emissions technologies it's not a bridge in and it was built for this I don't know the exact numbers but I know we're on the top of the list for fuel economy I know the averages are mid eights I know we've got drivers getting anywhere you know Midnight's too I'm even hearing tens now I know those are one-offs but we're getting outstanding fuel economy out of this engine and this engine is several hundred pounds lighter than the previous engine so the 826 has done a fantastic job and I believe Prime's got some well over the two hundred thousand mile mark at this time because they started taking delivery of this engine in 2017 and Janet can testify to this with with her hell and the new products they've cut the dwell time in half so the well time being when you go into a shop how long does it take you to get out gotcha these trucks are going in and getting out of the shop and half the time of the previous models so great the engine is doing a great job Jan and her team are doing a great job I'm sorry Curtis Wilkinson said where's the CB connection so you could pointed that out really good question though right up here already pre-wired and ready to go great and then Joseph said autopilot for those hard backings you know Joseph if there's autopilot on here I'm not aware that is probably a future technology they're working out the joke oh okay oh right good oh yeah show me that again one here one in the stereo and then one down here and anybody else on top of your regular cigarette lighter that's great yeah here one here and one on this back wall here by the microwave and one over here by where the TV would go so you've got five of those in the cabin that's awesome yeah yeah because when I travel for when you get rental cars sometimes they don't have those and you're like how what yeah I need USB and those come it at different wattages so one will charge at a different rate than the other one okay Nathan Rojas said how many leaders twelve point four leaders so it's classified as a 13 litre and and I know that you're running 15 liters and 13 liter engines so this engine develops 450 horsepower it develops it's called a smart torque engine it'll go from fifteen fifty to seventeen hundred pound foot of torque so it develops the same torque as a fifteen liter engine develops I'm told by the drivers you cannot tell the difference between this engine and a fifteen liter now we'll probably get some feedback on that but I got to tell you that the percentage probably 60% of the engines that we sell today and we sell other brands of engines 60% of them are going to the 13 litre choice they sure are fuel economy weight savings payload increase lots of good reasons but we really see a shift towards the 13 litre great alright you have anything else to show us in here no but it's plenty warm in here yeah it is very you know that's a good point Jana just brought up in the past there there's been the the Qualcomm panic button so I believe the one that says emergency SOS on it is where they've put that and we've had some other drivers ask because in the past it was a red R and red button now it's in with one of the rocker switches so who does that call Prime goes through goes through your Qualcomm system so I don't know who in the building gets it but yes they do get it inside heard people ask about that before another guy yeah yeah I don't know who gets the call but yes it is inside so with this engine and this transmission these are the best riding best driving trucks that Navistar has ever produced awesome well let's look outside if you don't anything else is chosen here you bet oh and talk about that for you I got it um talk about the seats real fast this is standard they come with a fabric yes absolutely so you got these are national seats the only other ones that we offer are Sears and they're really on the high end of the spectrum so these seats right here are the cloth seats which Opena the standard we can get inserts in them and we can go all the way up to a full leather seat we can also go to seats that are the back cyclers and again those are just options that you can order these are captains chairs so big question for everybody because I heard this misquoted yeah or these swivel they they do swivel so you slide it forward pull it forward and then you turn it right here this round and you can you know sit here watch your TV do what you want to do but they do have the driver's seat is a captain's chair gotcha Jon oghren said any chance the light weight will make prime specs in the future not yet but after this video we're delivering a lot of the lt''s and we're very happy with that cool Gregory Christopher said is there an armrest for the passenger seat there there is Gregory they did not spec them on this group of trucks we've had a lot of requests for it so I believe you will see that on the next few trucks absolutely all right perfect oh and and more storage there's a lot of storage in here I'm very impressed yeah you'll hear driving there's never enough storage times if you're living in a truck I understand that yeah the reality is everywhere you can have storage and still have movement in the cab they've got storage there there's a there's a cubby everywhere and take a look out through the window I mean first in class on visibility and you can see literally 14-foot ahead of it there's no way a vehicle can stop the hearing set without yah without you you never see that it is very close so pan around you'll notice with this of course we got the door open but the a-pillar is smaller now and the way it is I mean you've just got the best visibility that we've ever had at a truck so there is a significant difference when you get behind the wheel yeah and the way they the way they built the door she's got her arm on there go ahead and put your arm up on there so that has been put up just a perfect height when you air the seat up you can rest your arm on there and it's in a perfect spot you can keep your hands on the wheel and have your arm on that works very very well okay you'll also notice as you're getting down they've got a grab handle here and they've also got a grab handle on the beat goal which is to your back this is this is on the inside and that's on purpose they used to be on the outside of the truck many years ago they do this to keep the snow and ice on it so when you shut the door this is on the inside of the truck big difference sure easy access it's got metal studs on it so this allows the driver to go in and reset the breaker circuits gives him a full wiring diagram and I think we have just had no issues whatsoever with that you know usually you have to go through the guys they wanted to make a more readily accessible in case there is a breaker that trips and needs to be reset the other thing with this is lots of people will set a drink or something up on a flat - so they've put a track around that and it's got drain holes yeah it doesn't drain out onto the ground it does drain into your floorboard but at least it's not on the breakers yeah so designed for that great all right let's take a look at the outside one more time anybody has any questions us now or forever hold your peace this is the 2020 international truck model Shawn said does this model have a glove box I didn't see one right [Music] yeah there's good news international [Music] great so international was already the largest dealer network okay this is a piston is going to be a 24-hour stop somebody their goal is to make a quick repair get them in get them out because the bigger issue will get it into a local dealer but we're gonna run a lot of trucks through there this fall when they get that program we've entered in sumit themselves companies we represent France 24 five state area so you've got any questions at all please give us a call all right we'll take a couple more questions here Brandon white said what is the engine so it is an international engine it's the 826 it still has the man block in it to come over from Europe that block has millions and millions of miles on it it's a graphite composite block that's where they saved the way and it's a proven performer in here it's been over there are many many years and and I don't know if everybody keeps up with it but you know we've had joint ventures and now Volkswagen is part of international so they've bought a small portion of it and continued to behind them so the technologies that were sharing between the two companies pretty impressive okay all right do you anything else dad Jana no and what hours are you here at the Springfield terminal and in the new Plaza right yes awesome all right we'd welcome you to give Dan a call she's got a lot of information can help you a bunch great and they can go through road assist or their fleet manager to reach out to you okay all right we're gonna do a walk-around thank you guys all right so this is 2020 international here at Prime alright Steve I'll ask your question and then we'll sign off here and the fuel economy but this is the 2020 model very nice truck I think now we've got a official video with every truck we offer we have freight liners Peterbilt and internationals and we typically use our trucks for three years or I think 550,000 miles is the yep kyla can correct me on that alright we did have one more question you briefly answered this before but what's the fuel mileage you're seeing on this truck model so we're not we're seeing averages in the eight and a half range Cody Clements said was a way to keep the airlines from getting stuck in wheel well okay great answer here let's walk back there real quick go plastic oil hoses this is back here a much better flavor this truck has not been retrofitted but it moving when they first come out Philips sent out a three pack right here positioned in one spot what they're doing now is we're sending sets of two heavier Springs and those will be double coiled it'll catch one of the loops on the first coil and then another one on the second quarter and that holds it up in the air in fact just a couple weeks ago we had a Philips rep flying into town met with Justin Coffman myself and Doug Carney our service manager and we determined that the 15-foot cable is the best cable and to put it on with a double coil and a double support spray so it's a great setup this truck just hasn't been updated with it's nice great all right I think we got them all Tim Richter said black grills on all 2020 models that is correct they're all black great which we are getting great responses and how many of these trucks are coming in to prime 500 and the whole fleet or okay having cycle through year that these trucks are scheduled take their place perfect alright see ya ok thanks for tuning in everybody this is Andrea Mueller here at prime if you're interested in driving for prime you can apply online at Drive for prime com if you have any
