2019 Street Glide Special Review.

what's up and welcome to the channel my name is headshot and thank you guys for joining us today we're gonna be doing a full review on the 2019 Street Glide special I'm gonna tell you what I like what I don't like pros and cons you guys know how we do our reviews by now no different on the motorcycle and I'm gonna tell you everything I know about it through the first seven hundred mile specs features things I would change all that good stuff and an overall grade at the end so make sure you stay tuned hit that subscribe button and let's go ahead and get started alright let's talk about some specs here really quick starting right here you have a six gallon gas tank one Touch system from Harley you can see right there there's your fuel tank door horse all right you have a 26 inch seat height right here of course it does come with the passenger seat as well which is kind of nice weight in running order is 836 pounds so she is no light weight let's go up to the front where you're gonna see the brake system are you can see up front right here you actually have a 19 inch wheel this will Harley calls their Talon wheel and you have floating rotors up front here four piston caliper Brembo brakes which is nice up here you can see we have a blacked out look so everything is blacked out this one thing with the specials everything is black very little chrome on this on this motorcycle I see you have your handles right here for the saddlebags they just lift right up and you can see what kind of storage I'm going to take that out for just a second what kind of storage you have and it goes down up in there the first couple of times I use this I put my phone over there couldn't find it you realize there's a there's a quite a bit of space back towards the back of that thing and these things are really easily really easy to open and close which is nice and one other nice thing is that it already comes with the docking hardware for your bar or tour pack whatever you want to do there of course you have your antenna right there and the bullet style tail lamps back in here alright one cool thing about the specials here is that you have a you have stretch bags and I like how they kind of come up and over the pipe the standards are just gonna come they're gonna level off and they're going to be about right here above the pipe this is one cool additional feature that the special is going to come with and it's going to give you a little bit more storage alright so I didn't want to show you guys it is a keyless entry it's got security but the alarm is optional optional and then you have a barrel key pour your saddlebags all right again why the power lock is not an option on the specials is beyond me it is an option on the CEOs though but you do have that right there you know which is kind of nice you don't have to put a key in to start it and then these are right here the saddlebag protectors I actually added those on those did not come with it so one other nice feature is this lamp right here a lot of guys were adding this but now on the 19's I think it was on the 18s as well I'm not sure I have to look into it but it's definitely on this one it comes with that that third lamp right there so let me show you guys the infotainment system here really quick I just started it up and as you can see you're already there so it is quick I don't have an experience really with the with the 18 but from what what horley says it's a lot quicker it's six and a half all touchscreen alright so you have your home alright you have your audio settings right there power button it's pretty loud one annoying thing about this bike is that whatever the last station it was on actually you know what it doesn't even it tries to connect with the phone first but it takes a minute to connect with the phone so as soon as you start it up hopefully you turned it down before you turned it off because it's going to go to whatever radio station which is kind of annoying this screen right here is kind of cool so if you put in like a destination that's going to tell you the time the time it's going to take to get there it tells your elevation temperature outside over here it's going to tell you when you're gonna arrive at your destination all that kind of stuff which is cool check engine oil AIT m/s which we'll talk about here in a minute service information you know all that kind of stuff and I think this screen restarts every everytime you turn the bike on so you have four gauges right here and this is a color match fairing which is nice I say color matches its painted that's what it is not color matched six and a half inch speakers all right you get two in the fairing course your mirrors on the outside and then your four gauges right here which are blacked out I believe the standards are going to be all white but on your toggle right here you can see total miles I have that's actually my trip B remaining until I run out of fuel total miles on the bike trip a right there low engine you're gonna see ABS right there that's gonna stay on until you get to like three miles an hour and then it'll shut off volt meter and all that good stuff I'm going to turn that into accessory which will turn off the headlights over here you have high and low beam you have your horn which is loud check this out all right it's very loud left turn signal you can speak to talk or play a song or whatever but you have to have the headset to do all this and from what I know you have to have anything yeah that the wim which is not installed cruise control right there if we come over to this side these buttons right here would be where like your power lock bags are which is not available on this which is really really sucks over here on this side hazards start if we were to start it up there's your run switch it's not in neutral so that's not going to work right here is pretty cool you got a back button alright so if you're in throughout the screens or whatever you can just press the back button and do what you need to do there left turn signal and then this one allows you to go throughout if you don't want to touch the screen for whatever reason you can use this on the fly and search or whatever you want to do and then pinch-to-zoom which is pretty nice and some cool little features like this shows exactly my bike it shows me up again I honestly the maps on this is pretty nice I really do like the map set up we are right next to the river right here and it shows the river flowing so it is really nice and you can kind of click on a spot if you want to do that or if you want to let's see if you want to pick like a location alright you have the HD app so if you're on the app you can actually send a destination of this and it'll load which is which is cool points of interest so pretty much anything you want of course they have Harley dealers in there to place its asleep so it is a really nice system one thing I noticed is that it doesn't recalculate very well but you know maybe they'll do an update or something I don't know in the future so the infotainment system is definitely pretty nice coming over to this side you have your horn cover of course twin cam the spike is liquid cool which is nice and then it also has that rear activation which is that EIT M s so basically once you get to a stopping point you're at a stoplight or a stop sign or whatever the bike is going to shut the cylinder off when you have that mode enabled and it's going to act as a air pump to cool the whole thing down and this is a really nice feature something that I really like because it keeps a lot of the heat off of you and it also allows the motor to stay a lot cooler down here regular shifter keel shifter floorboards I don't know what the name of these specific floorboards are but they're pretty nice it does come with the engine guards and then you have your oil cooler up front and then all the specials for this year come with the 114 motor that 114 motor is about 123 foot-pounds of torque and it's right around 80 85 horsepower one more thing I want to show you up here and the dash area is this right here I have a garage door opener in there but it does come with the USB and this does have apple carplay but again you have to have the Cena harley-davidson headset and I believe you have to have the whim module to be able to use all the features as well so next we're gonna talk about how it rides now the reason I went with this particular model is not only for me but for mrs. heck shot because she loves to ride and the iron and softails Sportsters just were not enough okay it just was not enough for me and her going down the highway so I wanted something bigger if we want to take a trip and we don't have the kids for a weekend and we can go to the mountains or do whatever we can do that on this bike and one thing I want to say is the power from the 114 is awesome all right it's amazing how quickly an 860 pound machine can get up to 60 miles an hour and it's also very smooth and this one issue I had with Sportster man is because I I Drive I Drive the interstate every single day and that bike sucked on the freeway it was great around town but on the freeway it just was not good with this bike I have a lot of options I have a lot of wind protection and it's very stable and one thing I really like is how this you can see this chopped windshield okay it does there are there some head buffeting but you have the option to open and close this and I keep this open almost all the time because when I close it especially at 70 80 miles an hour I get a lot of head buffeting when I open it up and almost equalizes the whole front end and it's just really nice also the suspension is pretty good too I was almost expecting a Sportster style suspension out of this bike when I would run over bumps and stuff like that and it takes the bumps very well so that was something that was very pleasant especially living in a South Carolina where the roads are not the best alright I'm just going to turn this on just for a second just to talk about the controls and the ease of use it is very easy to get to these left and right turn signals are very right where they should be navigating around this screen is easy to do so I do like the controls one thing about it is the friction zone it has a hydraulic clutch the friction zone on this bike is pretty much so this is all the way in friction zone is like right there okay so it is pretty much all the way out there are some things you can do to change that but that was one thing to get used to throttle response and everything just as far as using the bike on the road if I need to get in my nav I'll press the home button go here you know this something you should do off of the bike but if you need to do it on the fly it's really easy to navigate your way around and and do what you need to do alright let me start at the bike for you here really quick turn your fuel pump on one thing that's nice about this you guys can hear me but is the vibration and the motor so now you have a single cam in these motors as opposed to the old twin cams and the vibration is not nearly as severe as it used to be now some guys some of the older already guys and I've even rain it's not like a real hallway it doesn't have the vibration Bob Loblaw well to me this is nice because you you almost you get that very smooth action you can see there's a little bit of vibration still and it that little bit of hesitation is the rear cylinder kicking back on so the bike has a lot of cool features we just went over that and specs and all that kind of stuff it rides good but there are some cons and we're gonna talk about pros and cons right now so let's go over the pros the good stuff first first of all the power I think for this bike again it's amazing how quickly one of these machines can move it's very good with passenger - of course you're gonna have to get some accommodations especially being a bar which is something I got to do very soon because when you hit the throttle and you have a passenger on the back they feel like they want to fly off the back it really it really is not good in that situation but they do have plenty of room which is nice second the bike looks good they all blacked out look is something I'm into I know a lot of you guys are into but there's also a lot of people that are still in the chrome but the whole interface the interfering the batwing fairing to me looks significantly better than the Road Glide fairing the shark fairing I think it looks really good it's easy to keep clean - so with this denim paint you have a have a spray from Harley I just put on here every once in a while spot clean it no waxing or anything like that which is nice to see as far as the driver's seat my seat is actually really comfortable it's got kind of this ledge right here that keeps me planted when I hit the throttle and I've spent you know I think the longest trip we've taken so far is about an hour and 15 minutes an hour and a half and I was comfortable the whole way there so that is good the vibrations and everything this is a smooth Harley man and that's what I love that they've done with the Milwaukee eight it's they've they've smooth things out and they've made it really attractive now another thing that's good especially for somebody like me that's five seven five eight on a good day is it's got a low seat height 26.1 inches whenever you're sitting on top of it which is good I'm a hundred and ninety pounds so I get the I get to put pretty much both feet all the way down one of my feet normally I'm on the balls but it's still a good seat height which is confidence-inspiring especially when you're talking about a machine of this size also I love the vented windshield up here that how to equalize the whole thing the speaker sound good and it's got good fuel capacity so on the iron I was filling that thing up you know going back and forth to work every couple of days this one fill it up once a week and I'm typically getting about 250 miles maybe a little bit more depending if I stay out of the throttle a little bit which is hard to do on this bike I can assure you but there are some cons as well and I think the biggest one for me is no wind module so you have a twenty seven thousand dollar machine and no whim so why they didn't implement that into this this is another poorly tax that you have to do to be able to use your headset and use the entire system efficiently I think that's bullcrap also the passenger seat is not the best especially at distance you know if you're thirty minutes to 40 minutes mystech shot is okay anything longer than that she's ready to get out so the passenger seat is not too good also there's no LEDs on this bike it's all halogen bulbs regular technology we've been using for thirty forty years you know whatever it's been they're decent lights but again when you compare that to something like Indian where they have LEDs that's pretty crappy and then also you have to go with the CBO to get power lock bags why they can at least put this as an option because you know everything is an option and Harley that would be nice where you just hit your key fob it locks the bags you're good to go those things to me again on a twenty-seven thousand dollar bike not too good all right but with all that said one thing that is great is because it's Harley the parts are relatively cheap you know especially compared to Indian um and you can get them more readily so I'd say overall the bike is an 8 out of 10 it does a lot of great good things well it does what I wanted it to do which is be able to carry mrs. heck shot with some addition she's gonna be more comfortable it's got plenty of power to do those things and once I get my low speed maneuvers down on this bike I'm really really loving this thing and the way it maneuvers and even that I didn't even talk about maneuverability but for a big bike it actually will move in and out of corners and stuff a lot better than you might think so I love it 8 out of 10 on the street Glide special if you guys what ever your opinion is on the street glide or harley-davidson line up let me know leave me a comment down below let me know what you
