welcome to Athens Georgia SEC on a Saturday night 44 degrees don't be worried about that little freeze warning nearly 93,000 on hand how long will that six be next to Georgia as Missouri comes to town what's that we take it evening a pleasant Saturday night with Brian Griese I'm Steve Levy can you control destiny no one really knows for sure but Missouri wins out they'll likely have a spot in the SEC championship game Greece Georgia wins out they're sitting there with a playoff spot yeah in just a month ago everybody was you know piling dirt on Georgia after they lost to South Carolina but they've come back they've gotten better on the offensive side which they needed to get better defensively we know they were good but last week against Florida Jake from and some of these young receivers made enough plays specifically on third downs to win that football game that was impressive they need to back it up here tonight against the total quite possibly this is taking Fromm's last second of last home game they got one more date here between the hedges has for the quarterback from Missouri tonight here's Todd Shea and I talked to coach Barry Odom right before the game and he really wanted to play Kelly Brian Kelly Bryant was begging him to play unfortunately the medical staff just doesn't think it's the right move he's got a hamstring injury they're worried that Brian is gonna if he plays tonight gonna wind up being injured for the rest of the season if it's not Bryant then we go to Taylor Powell a redshirt sophomore he's going to come in and coach told me he's got a bigger arm he can make all the throws and he knows he can make all the throws he's just got to try to temper it tough tough spot for young Taylor pal we're getting set for the opening kick Molly McGrath on the way it's Missouri awful bye and George off the cocktail party victory a week ago against Florida [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you're watching the SEC on ESPN presented by Hampton by Hilton let's go back in time to ours so how do you walk into a large room there's Molly McGrath this is where you want to be pretty gaming happens thousands of fans lined up to send the team into Sanford Stadium and I get to walk in alongside senior junior off like you're Army soldier man going about on the best part is the fans up there on that bridge cheering y'all this right here is what we love about college football if this is any indication the atmosphere is going to be incredible tonight fast forward Marlina present time and it is a gorgeous night bucket ten in the house his house if we get you ready for Georgia and Missouri Georgia won the toss wouldn't even know they chose to refer Greeks to get out their first foot of 94,000 under the light now is a nice walk in for GRE might not be such a nice welcome for Taylor Powell well I got gladiator Georgia night can you wonder the effects of any letdown for Georgia off the rivalry win over Florida 24:17 a week ago in the cocktail party in Jacksonville Rodrigo Blankenship kicking away Tyler Beatty and we are underway from Athens here's Beatty with a nice return and that's where we introduce America to Taylor Powell the redshirt sophomore Fayetteville Arizona he replaced Kelly Bryant a couple of weeks ago against Kentucky played the majority that second half so he got his feet wet what's he feeling right - huh Cruz yeah well he probably can't feel his feet right now you know he's played a lot of football at the high school level this isn't high school anymore this is big-time college football and your tie I think Barry Odom had the right approach don't try to do too much too soon in his football game expect to see some conservative play calling and on first down handed off to Tyler Beatty and rush ahead for a 1-yard take a look at our chick-fil-a impact players Todd well Taylor Powell is going to have to rely on his tight end Albert of Kui Buddha who is probably their best player in terms of offensive skill guys on the on the Missouri side defensively Richard will account is a big-time hitter he's got big speed he's not going to be all over the field here's the throw out to baby trying to take it on the terminal oh is it incomplete mass but GUI fooled him a week ago or two weeks ago before the pie was targeted twice didn't catch a single ball that can't happen for Missouri yeah and then when they played against the Kentucky and a quagmire as well so he give them a little bit of a break but certainly way cooler on has to be a target especially in third down situations like this did not want to see third and nine for the youngster but here it is first series of the game Taylor pal dumps it underneath the beatty and he'll come closer to the marker be taken out short give them ate on the plane needed nine Tyreke Stevenson the true freshman making the stop it's fourth down that was the right play the right to throw there from Powell Bailey just hoping he makes one guy miss and gets a first down but a three and out for Georgia's defense Tucker McCann does all the kicking I mean kicking off hunting and place-kicking got to be the most active right leg in America from his own 20 Dominic Blaylock is back deep for Georgia from the 22 still on his feet and he has dropped out of a pony yard line as a 45-yard foot it's an 18 yard return [Music] [Applause] last week take from went to a cocktail party and start to two touchdowns to beat Florida clutch all game especially on third down the emotional wallet for Fromme and his head coach Kirby smart he said don't have heard out Don Jake from I'm just so thankful I got a head coach who believes in me and believed in this team I'm so thankful to be one of the many things we love about college football right there there's no question and they had launched over the break and they talked a little bit about kind of where Jake from is and his career in the offense they didn't have a great outing against South Carolina followed it up with not a great outing against Kentucky in the last three games their average at only 20 points game but I think Jake Fromme has has found his niche with this offensive it's a it's different than a year ago there's no Ridley no miko' Hartman no Holloman kid no Holyfield he's got a lot of new pieces a lot of young players that have had to grow up in this offense and I think he and James choline on the same page and they're getting better on that side of the ball thirty and six all time is starting quarterback for these Bulldogs second down and eight from their own 42 but of a high snap it's the Android Swift the second carry of the night take a look at tonight's chick-fil-a impact players now you just mentioned Swift I think he's one of the most underrated running backs in the entire country he's going to be one of the top three running backs drafted coming up and I feel like we overlooked him the other player to keep an eye on number 15 wide receiver Lawrence cager he is unbelievable in 50/50 balls going up and boxing out defenders graduate transfer from Miami he is the top target we take from it we see him here on third down and six [Applause] from sideline got a man it's cager [Applause] Cody - on the play top we just mentioned cager and this is what he does he is a vertical Brent he's a player when you put the ball up your quarterback frog was going to trust him to go make a play there he didn't have to use his body to box anyone out but that's what he does best he is the edge you said become the go-to guy for Georgia he really didn't have to do anything wrong Nepal was put there right on the money all he had to do is stick his hands out first down in ten o'clock at cook out of the Wildcat and he has picked up and thrown down in a big way Tyreke Gillespie all off the water on the play yeah really good recognition by this Missouri defense we've talked a lot about Georgia's defense tonight but Missouri comes into this game playing very well on the defensive side led by number one right there in the middle screen Jordan Elliot Easter redshirt junior six for 315 pounds he is a tough assignment for any offensive lineman he's got to wear uniform number one yes number one you know you're an athlete when you were number one reaaahhr pounder [Applause] but the 25 of Mizzou hears from trying to set up a screen too strong pretty Andre Swift couldn't haul it down you see this Georgia offense and James Coley their offensive coordinator you get into the red zone fringe here they try something different a wildcat there you see James Wildcat with cook on first down second down you come back trying to get the screen out to DeAndre Swift but he just wasn't able to get past the trash in there with the defensive line if he was able to he had a play third down and 11 now single setback is Swift [Applause] when a young star in the making George Pickens these Georgia's number one bottom of your screen here's flopping the flow coming across the middle in his Pickens he flashes over that star paddle right away touchdown Georgia [Applause] well you knew something was coming huh you're diagnosed someplace now calling out touchdown does he watch as much film as I watch well when he wants to film with George Pickens he flashes he's got the speed he was probably their biggest recruit in the offseason because they flipped him from armor at the last minute on signing day he decides to come to Georgia and he's contributing as a true freshman and he can't share with one hand or two not to him because that's significant when it comes to him he loves hauling in those passes at one hand definitely in practice anyway there's blankenship on for the extra point got it through tremendous talent gets downfield when he gets the ball in his hands nice job securing it reaching up through the touchdown puts Georgia up 7 up [Music] you're watching veterans week coverage on ESPN brought to you by USAA indeed veterans week on ESPN brought to you by USAA and you're watching the Dr Pepper championship drive game of the week last drive by Georgia six plays 60 yards nickens a 25 yard touchdown catch from Jake from 7-nothing dogs [Applause] blankenship will put in the air baby let it bounce out of the back of the end zone second crack from Missouri with the ball young Tyler Taylor Powell yeah you would expect Missouri to try to get the run game gone that's the the best part of their offense right now with Roundtree and Beatty ins take some pressure off Taylor Powell now in last year's game against Georgia they ran the ball well and over honored 82 yards rushing and four touchdowns on the ground now we know that Georgia hasn't given up a rushing touchdown all season but I think for Missouri to stay in this ball game they're gonna have to get some production on the ground Missouri comes in without their best receiver Jonathan Johnson they hope to have him back from Florida next week Taylor Powell from the twenty with Kelly Bryant watching him Georgia Russian for shall across across the middle and it's can update from Matt berry Steve Levy good evening after an Alabama touchdown LSU put on a play calling clinic Clyde Edwards allaire fourth touchdown of the day and LSU takes the lead late in the fourth quarter 46:34 what a game going there never expect to see Alabama treated that way at home here between the hedges Georgia up top seven nothing Roundtree's first carry of the night pick up a lawn mark web to stop the third down trying to get that run game going I like to pass on first down they get on GUI bulletin and stay ahead of the down in distance and now it brings up a third manageable situation where they can choose to throw it or more likely Hanna to roundtrip gonna throw nearly intercepted JRE try to step in front of Buddha and its fourth down [Applause] [Music] Tucker McCain on to punt Dominic Blaylock back to receive a couple of three and outs from Missouri tough way to start on the road here in Athens Cam's been a pleasant surprise as a punter that one goes for 40 yards Jake frog will take back to the field and though these are valuable snaps valuable plays at home the people who love him hear so much I don't know how many more cracks they're gonna get to see this kid I'm not here in this stadium yeah he's got a decision to make at the end of the years not thinking about that he's he's a guy that's living in the moment but certainly this is his 36th start you know for years starters had an unbelievable career here in Georgia and these fans have been spoiled they met some great quarterback play the last decade between him and Erin Murray both of them but given their heart and soul they wear it on their sleeve and you know you're gonna get everything from Jake from every single time he touches the grass and you know he's gonna be ready to go he's gonna be prepared flip the swift crash is out beyond them 30 really Oliver but tackle k-25 Todd we've been doing this for years when we meet with most quarterbacks every single week Brian I don't know about you I think he was the most impressive young man I've sat down and talked to in terms of just understanding and loving the game but also just being comfortable in his own skin and you can see why they've got a bunch of five-star guys that have come in here and they've shipped off a couple of them Fromme has just he's the guy and its really impressive to sit down and talk to him there's no question Todd you know Justin fields Jacob piece and they were the heralded guys and they were supposed to take his job and he just refuses to not be on the field and really is a joy to to talk with him you know I always go back one of my favorite things that Steve Young talks about quarterback play it's a craft but it's not a job not just out there throwing the ball making plays it's a craft and that's how Jacob phrom that's how he approaches the quarterback position it's really fun to talk with him to understand how much football he knows he challenges the coaches in the meetings James Coley says I have to come to meetings hopes are prepared otherwise I'll get exposed by a question from Jake's rock right and to get a sense from sort of dumbs it down a little bit those will make the other guys in the room feel bad here's Harriet got the first down Tyler Gillespie brought him down gain of seven here's Matt berry and you guys thought Alabama was out of it ensuing drive to attune Avante Smith 85 yard touchdown to get within 5 they did not recover the onside kick LSU with the ball late in the fourth Matt let us know what it goes final whoa I mean what competition from Alabama the you could have counted them out twice in that football game they just keep coming back now let's choose outplayed them but it's it's been some mistakes LSU defensively but it looks like they're gonna escape 46:41 you see that coming in to help no fluff it'd be a little more defense there déméter white here the crowd will chant Zeus it's a pickup of five on that play it's a great start for Georgia offensively you know I think they had some some time to kind of regroup after the Florida game and that was a tough defense Kirby smart understood listen just get out of there with a win no matter that we only scored 24 points you just want to win but this offense needs to continue to grow they need to continue to get better like I said the last three times out they've only averaged 20 points so tonight's a great opportunity for them to put their foot on the gas boat [Applause] second and five this frob great protection put some air underneath it and cager couldn't haul that one and had it in his hands and could not hang on third down gives you a sense of the touch of jake fron he knows exactly what he wants to do on this play watch it from behind him I'm not freezing right when he decides to make this throw he's right there okay this ball has to be out here and it has to be not a bullet but he has to put air under it for cager to run under it you can't throw that any better that's it's great anticipation and touch from Jake from cages gonna make that catch two ninety-nine out of a hundred times third downs have been the key for Georgia last week 12 of 18 against Florida three for three so far here tonight third down and five picking the top of your screen see if throb looks that way again coming across them don't know Tyler Simmons could not come up with it DeMarcus AC the captain that Missouri defense had the coverage and they're looking for somebody outside a cage or to step up we seen it from George Pickens already with a touchdown but they need Simmons to step up he's their veteran receiver coming back he and Demetrius Robertson and he dropped the ball last in overtime against South Carolina which was intercepted and now another drop missed opportunity Jake camarda is back to punt been rather inconsistent kind of week to week I'm not sure what you're gonna get again at a Kamara Rashad Floyd signals for the fair catch and nearly muff that that's a 37-yard punt will step out seven up in Georgia Missouri's got the football we come back [Music] it's all over in Tuscaloosa it might have been over in that first quarter Wow LSU beats Alabama 46 to 41 in this year's game of the century banjo woulda king joe pro had 457 yards and three touchdowns but to me in the fourth quarter there was stress alabama was coming back and they had to make plays on offense and it was Jo poore running with his feet I think they really sealed on first down at 10 here's Roundtree Missouri trying to get something going on the offense case you're just joining us after watching that classic Alabama here's the only touched out of this game that's George Pickett the true freshman who by the way went to Hoover High School where in Alabama had they get him out of the state they wanted to go to Auburn and he flipped on signing day to Georgia Jake Robb looking good early Roundtree stop my take router for no gain the other news for Missouri Kelly Bryant ain't no go injured himself hamstring had to leave the game in Kentucky a couple weeks ago replacing that game by Taylor he's in a difficult difficult spot already trailing seven nothing and ready for third down and four how good strong thrall just missed the mark this Tyler Beede and it's another three and a third possession for Missouri and they're about the putts for the third time tonight Georgia the 7-nothing cleats d-league along with Brian Griese so Alabama's out of the mix right yeah you would think so I mean I wouldn't never say never with those certainly outside the top floor in my book you know the committee can always rely on the eye test and there's Alabama with one loss when they lost they did talk about how close was the game right like I think LSU handled that football game pretty much start to finish yes Alabama teeth come back and they fought give them a lot of credit buttons an LSU certainly when they flex their muscles in that I have never seen Alabama place so poorly in the first seven eight minutes of that football game at home if anybody looked tight but like Crimson tie they made a bunch of mistakes early but you're right came down to the fourth quarter game anyway referee tonight is Mark curls there is no foul on the play disregard to flag it's the best news I've heard in a long time great start 50-yard punt seven of Georgia the fightin frogs have the football mayhem moment Illinois was down 31 to 10 in the fourth quarter to Michigan State Brandon Peters to Daniel Barker down 25 at one point completed the biggest comeback in school history to beat Michigan State [Applause] [Music] lovelyz got him going god I'm going in champagne you can check out our alternate angle Xfinity Skycam coverage tonight's game streaming live on the ESPN app that's the dreaded you know athletic director saying the coaches safe game check back tomorrow definitely Monday here's from on first down I'll hand off to James Cook Kobe Whiteside stop so what I hear from you Greece every single week coming out of meetings and interviews hey they don't ask this quarterback to a lot Jake Robb is the total opposite yeah he really is and and you can't give him enough I mean he just he he'll study it he's in the film room all the time and he wants to know exactly what everybody's job is on the field he spends most of his time mentally in the defensive mind right he's looking at the defense he knows exactly what his guys are doing and he's the thing he does best is getting them in the perfect play on a consistent basis now he's got to deal with a potential injury to a center tray he'll be right back you're watching the dr. pepper championship Drive game of the week Tradehill being helped off the field the youngest player on this excellent offense is live for Georgia coming out Kobe smart set of hill he's the most athletic 350-pound man I've ever seen and now Cade Mays George is lucky to have him he's played right guard right tackle tight and we're told he could snap and he's about to snap then Cleveland will take Mays spot and right guard as he slides over in the center position snap on the exchange is fine the Andre Swift second down and seven might might be one of the biggest changes the Kirby smart era before he got here they really didn't have a whole lot of depth on the offensive line but Kirby Smart has made it a priority in recruiting and now not only do they have five up front that are really good starters but they have reserves like Ben Cleveland who has started 13 games of his own Cade Mays and and folks like that that can that could pop in there for an injury and they don't have any drop-off it's the biggest offensive line in George's school history that's saying something third down and three protection breaks down Rob gunner run for it's got the first down and more takes a shot up high they're gonna push them behind and in the Missouri territory [Applause] great read here from Jake from doesn't like it downfield nobody's open he sees a lane and he's he doesn't get enough credit for this you know he's not gonna make a whole lot of people miss he's not gonna outrun anybody but he is gonna finish runs with a physical nature and trust me that offensive line they watch that right and they they will assume the attitude of the quarterback a lot of times the whole team will and the fact that he doesn't just slide everybody actually get some contact I think that energizes this squad 21st rush of the season for from we approached three minutes left in the first quarter here's from roll into his right a lot of green in front of him and he'll just throw that one away Tyler Simmons in the neighborhood this Missouri defense comes into this game they are number one in the SEC against the pass and this is a unit in Brian Walters a defensive coordinator that they know their system it's a little bit different yes they're gonna play it a mix of three four four three but it is a pressure defense they are not afraid to come after you and I think Jake from and James Cole Ino that and that's why they're moving the pocket a little bit to take the pressure off and there without kale Garrett who was their best linebacker maybe the best defender on the team he's lost for the season sort of taking all the role as a coach trying to help out where he can in the building every single day as if he were playing here's Harriet on second down and ten for two or three and bring up a third down the other thing that Missouri is gonna need to do defensively has moved their defensive line and their front a little bit can't just stay static and allow this big offensive line for Georgia to come off the football Jordan Elliott he can handle it but they don't have for Jordan Elliot's up there so they're gonna need to move and they're not gonna need to try to confuse Jake from in situations just like this third long see if we can get an update on tre he'll throw down in seven now at forty four and a half of Missouri its cave your bottom your screen from put some air in the deep core it is Laura's pager with a catch gate a 15 first down below you can just see the confidence that Jake Fromme has in cager and at any point in time he's willing and able to just throw this ball up before he throws that pulse from I mean he's back here off his back foot and just lays it out there the same route he threw earlier in the game to cage that he dropped now out the 28th Missouri changer took a long and winding and fascinating road and get to athletes good protection now from runs out of time and it's cager on the other side the graduate transfer from Miami had a relationship at Miami with the offense coordinator James Coley Kirby first recruited him to Alabama when he was there and they went back and forth and back and forth the action played from Mark Richt at Miami former Georgia head coach and then Coley got a text from cager cage the Kohli replied I can't talk to you this is after Miami yet coaching change and then cager said I'm in the portal now I could talk to you and Coley what the Kirby smart and said hey I'm going to be late for this meeting yeah they were actually in New Orleans at the Sugar Bowl and that all went down and half of them they were fortunate to get him yes Harry he swung around by a keel Byers gained a four on the play we're talking about cager he's a quarterbacks dream because the 50/50 ball as I mentioned earlier take from Trustin and he's earned that trust because he's as good as anyone in the country at going up boxing out defenders and using his body to make plays and unbelievable leaping ability as well so that he's a special talent and this has been a perfect fit with with Fromm and from trust them and it's going to give him opportunities there's third down and six final minute of play in the quarter whose cheek from underneath - pickings down to the 20s gonna be shy of a marker de marquise ICI made sure that if the gate of horror and there is a flag down that's why I get the area of holding her hands to the face but what a great play by DeMarcus AC personal foul roughing the passer number nine he finishes to the goal first down Markel up see junior from Little Rock Arkansas got Flay Wow you got you know this Missouri defense and then this secondary AC makes a great play tracking perkins all the way across the field and comes up and makes the tackle and just an unnecessary hit therefore muttsy he took three steps look at the effort there from AC they had forced a fourth down and would've been a field goal attempt and an undisciplined play from us he gives Jake from another chance pups T really bailed out Georgia there but from itemid limping definitely got up slowly first down and ten from just outside the ten so that can get a first down brah quick throw its cager to the five being a six Jarvis we're forced him out well you know that Missouri is going to play predominantly man-to-man and they'll they'll switch it up with zone every now and then but it's going to be predominantly man and it's gonna be Jarvis we're whoo Troy Walters feels is their best cover guy against cage or right now cage was eating him alive that'll do it quote heed and they are knocking on the door again [Music] kick off your NFL Sunday tomorrow with the countdown crew this week Peyton and Eli Manning relive the helmet catch NFL countdown tomorrow 10:00 a.m. then on Monday night the NFL's last unbeaten team didn't we see the 49ers of the preseason number awful they were there the only unbeaten team in the NFL let's be a dandy Russell Wilson the Seahawks I'm conflicted on that one big game in Seattle white why is that you know I'm a big fan of the Shanahan family good man right I'll but also I need the last undefeated team just to lose one game so that 72 dolphins are preserves got it yes you are conflicted but saying that about you for a long time here's the Andre Swift down to the three yard line Devon Nicholson makes the stop it's a gain of two they made the long walk all the way down the field to open up the second quarter Steve Wiebe Brian Griese Tom McShea Molly McGrath we Molly and Todd are actually between the hedges we are high above them I think the guy between the hedges that I would target here on third down is cager he's the one that got you down here and if he gives man-to-man here on where I'd take a shot on the fade ball promise completed just five passes to this point before the five have been on third down and here's a third and two out of the gun from the three low snap pressure Rob off of fingertips charlie Rael Perkins had the pressure came unhinged I think Fromm missed that one he had deandre swift wide open on on the out route he's gonna come here cagers gonna clear it out and he and have thrown the ball to the tight end but Swift was the one that was wide open there's nobody there I mean that's that's where the ball is gonna go you don't see from Miss many times but he missed that one Rob took another hit so Missouri doing what they can and this drive stalls out blankenship this is an Essex extra point all the way and it is good marigo Blankenship has made as 180 six consecutive extra points earlier in the game and their nails that feel good good to that Georgia defense yeah this defense that has just been all over offenses throughout the course of this season saw him against Notre Dame song against Tennessee they've kept this team in games at times because the offense has been growing it's been the defense that they have built this seven to one record on and the only thing they haven't done is forced a whole lot of turnovers they only had nine on the long the season but that's that's nitpicking cuz everything else has been what's interesting to me there's not really a big-name star on the defense it's team defense and it's the way they've played as a group obvious and very good coaching but I just appreciate and watching the tape the way they play with discipline and if it's the second or third strong defensive lineman coming in he's going to provide as much as the first three and Todd I think everybody talks about the rush defense and no TDs but I think the key to this defense are the two safeties junior Reid and Richard the count both of them experienced they're able to handle what Kirby smart puts on their plate baby let it bounce out of the back of the end zone and Kirby smart asks a lot of them as you see Hill gonna go back into the locker room but he asked a lot of the secondary in particular Kirby Smart is a secondary coach by trade he handles these guys himself watch the adjustments - you got two safeties in one motion changes the whole defense the check goes to man-to-man you get pressure off the edge this is preparation knowing that that whip that short motion they're gonna run the ball to that side so let's bring pressure with Reid and this defense and this secondary in particular they have four checks and more reads than any defense in college football other than Alabama because it's the same system that abandons but let's watch them on this Drive will watch how much they have to communicate first down in ten Taylor Powell to thrall and completes Barrett banister has the first first out of the night for Missourians a gain of 11 maybe a little confidence finding throw but a Laval so watch Kirby Smart watch how he he communicates to the secondary summer wait wait wait he's looking he now he's telling him what personnel is on the field and make sure they know and he will check the secondary he won't mess around with the front seven in the front but he when he sees a a formation of motion he himself will check to the secondary that's very unique in college football with protection to Powell off the fingertips and it falls incomplete cam Scott the intended target Todd I know you found this interesting too and that you know Kirby is so involved down in and down out basis with this secondary and you know they have to get him back just like they what a defensive coordinator he's a head coach there's no question about he runs this whole program but when it comes to game day he who loves it he who loves these opportunities to get it secondary in place could him Yellin he's wearing these guys out as a player he still ranks fourth all-time of Georgia in interceptions incomplete Powell was off the mark trying to find Beatty and this defense will look even better against the inexperienced quarterback making his first star their suburban smart interceptions he knows how to find the football that's for sure that logo has not changed at all nor should it no perfect perfect drop down to six he's fading fast you know all about that Greece [Applause] top ten lists yet burn 2010 Michigan with a body today here's Powell threats has picked up now Palatine a scramble for it take it a look around sort of an awkward slide maybe Quay Walker the tackle to gain an ID on the blood and it's put them great Lane here for Powell just needs to get a little rhythm get a couple of completions and get in rhythm and I think right off the bat you see Barry Odom he's gonna go for here on fourth and short on his own side of the field knowing that we need to stay in this football game they've got to possess the football a little bit and I talked to Barry before the game he said you know what this young man he's got a lot to learn this is a brutal spot but he's got all the confidence in the world look see look all the snap first charge timeout Missouri [Applause] see if they change their minds about going for it on fourth down with [Music] ceci on ESPN was headed by Hampton by Hilton [Music] this is Veterans week on ESPN ruff to you by USAA and you're watching the dr. pepper championship Drive game of the week Ted nothing Georgia with some question as to which team took the timeout as if both took it simultaneously the timeout is charged to Missouri and they were going to go for it and they have fought that but better that now are in punt formation yeah that's the right decision I think very Odom has had a minute to think about it no reason to take that chance this early can a short punt Blaylock that's Mookie's kid by the way fair catch after the 33 yard punt there's Matt berry Steve Levy did you know Mookie Blaylock was the original name of Pearl Jam neither here nor there Clemson NC State first possession of the game Trevor Lawrence gets in over on ABC up 7 nothing the Tigers see making that stuff up with I actually didn't know that you didn't know huh that was not aware Eileen I only knew that because our director Mike Schwab told me yes got big Pearl Jam fit yeah Mookie Blaylock I know Schwab knew before Bears I think Pearl Jam was a better decision I think they made the right move who worked out first down in ten ten nothing Georgia starting from their own 23 [Applause] here's from Honda pressure will be dropped taken down Nick Bolton on the sack along with Jarvis where it's a loss of nine Florida Dinh sockem one time a week ago in Jacksonville Missouri gets to here they're gonna see Bolton the end where they bring the corner that when the back picks up the corner Steve that frees up the linebacker who had Swift and coverage to then come after the quarterback they call that a green dog he's reading the back when he blocks he's green to the quarterback that was perfectly executed just the fifth sack this season of Jake from the fewest among FBS quarterbacks with at least 200 pass attempts and three of those five now on the season came against South Carolina and that ugly ugly loss as Lawrence cager on the receiving end where the stop there's Molly well see Georgia Center tre Hill had his left ankle taped so heavily that he had to have medical training staff go get him a baker shoe he hobbled back to Locker and still can't win full weight on his left ankle but before he left the field he gave a thumbs up earned right Molly Trey Hill has a lot of experience with Jake from actually blocked for him in high school didn't snap for him but he was a starting offensive guard in high school here's Fromm now to throw under pressure again nearly taken down Thompson off her swift forward progress it might give him a yard an extra sharp or two on that sideline Missouri not going away they don't look afraid here though especially defensively and why would they they come in with a lot of confidence in that time Whiteside got in the backfield he's not the tallest defensive lineman at six one but he's got quickness in between Whiteside and Elliott they feel like they can get some pressure on Jake from tonight and that time they did first three and out of the night for Georgia [Applause] camarda back to punt for the second time think twice about rushing the punter with these two big guys back here huh that's been Cleveland Jamari Salyer okay nobody wants to hit those guys they do pressure neither takes a Missouri bounce so the Tigers will start first down in ten and at their own 46 yard line the Georgia season had we get to this point way back in September I remember watching on TV The Gatehouse electric here with Notre Dame in the house playoff champs rose to 46% couple weeks later also here lost the double overtime to South Carolina and then last week bouncing back in a rivalry game beating number 10 Florida and George's odds was making the playoff one up just four points we asked we asked Kirby snart smart if they got better from the loss to South Carolina he said there's no question he's made them better yeah they would have loved to have won the game and still learned a lesson got the wake-up call but thankfully for Georgia didn't knock them out of anything everything is still writing for them in the SEC and beyond good time to town time for a cup of coffee still time and now we'll throw it away that must have been great coverage in that Georgia secondary miss Georgia secondary we talked about it on the last Drive they communicate so well the count read Daniel who's been filling in for an injured Tyson Campbell who they now have back healthy there's just nowhere to go with that football and how about having to play this defense in this house as a first-time starter tough one for Paulo dump that one down to Albert Oh across midfield and a sniff farm to get out of bounds Eric Stokes forced him out listen pal has summa accomplishments but the wall at the high school level he was the Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year for the whole state a two-time state champion and the MVP and both championship games - look he's won at whatever level but now he's at a different level and he's playing here in Athens tonight again it's the tight ad everybody's favorite target Ocoee bounnam for a gain of ten down to Maui [Music] Steve on the sidelines Mizzou coaches were telling quarterback Taylor Powell be aggressive and stop playing scared don't be afraid to throw it down the field you can't win by being conservative and Powell looked overwhelmed on the sidelines but teammates were very supportive saying calm down trust us we got to get those saucer eyes going down there Molly definitely understandable off the play fake and he's had a ton of time to throw here's pal and incomplete might have been out of bounds anyway okay boredom though went up high Monte rice he's running with him on the cover Kui bounnam got away with a push there to rice was in great position right there he pushes rice down surprised that didn't get called but it was incomplete anyway coming down out of bounds that's that is the matchup that they wanted that is in favor of Missouri Okoye bounnam on rice rice is 6 105 Odom 6 5 and he's their best receiver second down in ten quick thrall and a strong one to cam Scott he's got the first down and you can see Powell developing some confidence yeah he's thrown the ball well on this Drive this is a confident drill coming right at you cam Scott off coverage he hits his back foot and the ball is out that is a sign of a quarterback that knows exactly what he wants to do where he wants to go with the ball with a efficient drop [Applause] fifth play of the drive [Music] so it's not saying much but it is their longest drive of the game so far under nine to play in the half was he looking to cash here with the great starting field position here's round three lowering the helmet you hear the crash from Eric Stokes in the contact gain of three the confidence of Powell will link to the receiver hey nice shot kid not his first year in the program he was Drew locks back up for six games last year red shirt in 2017 top 20 highschool quarterback coming out second down and seven in the 24 of Georgia how loads up and flows and it's intercepted Richard look out down the shoreline he's got blockers in front of him Richard lecount we'll be taking down there are no flags Jonathan Nance the wide receiver on the tackle it's a 72 yard interception return the coaches on the sidelines made have told Taylor power people are aggressive don't play scared but you can't force the ball like this I know you want to get the ball to a Coue pulling and he tried earlier on on the drive but here he is right here this is the definition of double coverage protection was good he forces it in in the count is too good of a football player in a safety to be laxed with the football he will make you pay second interception for a Richard look out Kirby smart bulges him up really really hard because he sees a lot of potential look out and it pays off there giorgia off the sudden change from would not hook up quieres Jackson a see on the cover yeah really nice coverage from DeMarcus a see the weakness of that defense was in the middle of the field and AC head coverage on Jackson all over the middle of the field and he undercut that route and forced in an incomplete throw from frosting Brian Walters a lot of credit to the defensive coordinator from Missouri he's giving from some different looks tonight and usually it's very difficult to get Fromm off of his game well on these receivers are having a hard time separating Todd from man-to-man coverage [Applause] bad snap frog will scoop it up back at the 30 [Applause] crowd not appreciating the treatment by Trey Williams on their star quarterback this ball comes up to the left there I remember it's Kade Mayes not the starting center Trey hill and watch me watch Williams come up and hit front right there in the head we've seen people flagged for less yeah but a costly error therefore Georgia offensively they are second down and manageable and after the sudden change now it's third and 22 that basically took any chance of converting a third down off the board you see see see Kirby thinking he's got a lot going on in mine I might take a timeout no I'm gonna take it down don't waste it on third and 22 right there's a lot as a head coach going through your head 13:22 just got worse delay a game the play clock at zero that's this is the kind of stuff that drives the coach man right we practice these things all right Trey Hill gets hurt injuries happen all the time and we've got to overcome you got a veteran that comes in there at center and now now the quarterbacks a little bit flustered the play clocks going down he sees and he says no discombobulated [Applause] how about 3rd and 27 doctor let's get back in field goal range from the 35 [Applause] throw it a cager caught at the 30 Blankenship has a rocket for a leg as you probably know it's a gate or four on the play say Blankenship and I have liked a few more yards there make it a little bit easier but this is well within his range the Rose Bowl record holder 55 yards I know Rose Bowl records if you do former MVP of the Rose Ball I would imagine you would 55 is his career lon there's a chippy for him 48 yard attempt for Rodrigo Blankenship and the hold of camarda 20 good so George is able to cash in the interception by lecounte the 72 yard run back drive stalls and penalties but they add the field or make it 13 nothing for the home squad [Applause] [Music] ESPN college football brought to you by USAA let's thank our veterans join us at USA a.com slash Veterans Day as part of veterans week on ESPN we'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the men and women serving in the Armed Forces and around the world you see a veteran you're out and about we'll shake their hand say thank you very much for your service I want to buy him a cup of coffee or cold beer that would be nice too we certainly salute you and say thanks for everything you do and have done in the past 13-nothing Georgia Missouri to get the football back maybe a little go out of the back of the end zone there's Matt berry gentlemen checking in on Notre Dame and Duke over on ACC Network Ian's book the chase play pull easy play there 14-nothing Irish and in the first quarter on the ACC Network you know these Georgia fans are rooting for the Irish you don't make that strength of record a little bit stronger for the Bulldogs but I don't think they're gonna need any help the only thing they need to do is win football games they don't need to worry about anybody else because if they can win out and next week is a big test too and they go to the plains and play the Auburn Tigers in that defense and they're gonna go to the land on the SEC Championship finish up against Texas A&M and Georgia Tech that's baby back to the line Molly well Steve Mizzou's wide receivers coach Gary goonie not angry with Taylor Powell after that pic saying it's okay we opened it up you don't look afraid anymore keep up the confidence and don't be afraid to keep throwing it they just you see how Paulo responds on this Drive they'll keep it on the ground a baby again patiently picking his holes take Crowder the stop getting on the bike bring up a third down outside of Alberto Cooley bounnam Beatty is there other big-time playmaker he's the guy that can that can take it the distance anytime he touches the football you see him running the ball but but really where he's most effective is as a receiver comes into this football game with 20 catches on the season and you'll see a lineup in the backfield but also out as a wide receiver as he's doing here on this third down at the top of the screen had a 74-yard touchdown catch they have a loss at Kentucky 29 to 7 third and six whistles and flags see if Wallace Sims jumped before the snap off star number 75 still third down that is trade war Wallace Sims senior from st. Louis and Barry Odom that tried to get his his offense ready for this this environment but it's it's different yeah you go on the road at a place like this it's going to be loud the communication stuff the offensive linemen are under pressure and stress and experienced quarterback Missouri already the most penalized team in the SEC coming into this game so it's lured down to the level they're backed up again get some pressure how able to get rid of it and it will fall incomplete nolan smith had the pressure nearly brought him down and powell is trying to get everyone lined up he can't hear a thing down here on the field it's so loud especially on third down and it seems like he's in control and knows what he's trying to do but he there's two or three players almost every single play that are lining up in the wrong spot so there's a lot of miscommunication pre-snap this is the kind of game you have a player like Kelly Bryant who comes with all and Clemson experience might have been able to handle some of the adversity for the hamstring unable to go here tonight hope to get him back shortly Tierra's Jackson on their catch after the 40 yard punt [Music] 4:11 left and a half move gene nothing number six Georgia [Music] little late for breakfast Reese isn't it don't miss a college football edition of detail hosted by Alabama's Nick Saban detail extreme - now on ESPN Plus sound today at ESPN plus comm I'd like to know what Nick is saying right about now actually it's not wonder if that's live then Tuesday night 7:00 the exclusive reveal of the next college football playoff top 25 rankings right here on ESPN the ESPN app recent the guys love coach's reactions and a live interview with the committee chair Robb Mullins look forward to that each and every Tuesday night the rest of the way on 1st down and 10 it's harrion the ball carries them so where do you think Alabama drops down to not very far not very far you know I wouldn't be shocked if they're ahead of Oklahoma just based on who they lost to right Oklahoma lost to Kansas State right and I know I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't drop a low organ or Utah either so that right in there it's just so bizarre like a Clemson being at five makes sense and I get that you just talk about your own eye testers you're not used to seeing a 5 next to Clemson that must seem so far in they don't have to worry about that so you know Dabo was all worked up this week you know this is one week you know just a little bit of humble humble pie for him and he'll be right back in number four next week you see the remaining undefeated how about Baylor needed a field goal late to force overtime they were nine nine going overtime well and roll the bow roll the boat certainly LSU took the day but roll the bow is right behind them because there were a lot of doubters of pj fleck and in that group but that that offense Tanner Morgan and those wide receivers they played outstanding today hey this rattles rocket if Stadium was great and many good for them like see the programs have been down for a long time these their best start since 1904 not sure what the playoff committee looked like back in 1904 little probably was different his fraud to throw and airmails it over the head a Dominic Blaylock and it's a fourth down so that's a reoccurring theme here for Jake from and and you got to have receivers that can separate in yet Blaylock there he's not separating in the middle of field Simmons not separating I think Georgia and talking with the offensive coordinator James Coley I think they're at a point where they need to get guys that are running back Swift and hairy and those are the guys that can consistently beat man-to-man coverage against linebackers they need to get them more into the passenger well it's been a problem all year yeah they getting down the field vertically this this passing attack has not been what needs to be its cager or or bust right Floyd the fair catch credit to Missouri's defense for the last three times Georgia's had the football - four yards - 13 yards just another four years on that last Drive I [Music] met Barry coming up in the mercedes-benz halftime report will discuss Georgia's playoff chance dispense with what happened today and LSU Alabama going down to the wire plus they're still row in that boat in Minneapolis Jesse Palmer Joey Galloway joined me coming up in fact Minnesota tweeted out an application Steve Levy to get on the bandwagon of the boat wagon at this point so you can print what out in the press box and sign up that more coming up on the Mercedes Benz halftime report DJ fleck they already gave him the extension last week and i want to lock him up a little longer than valance that's a way to follow it up right get a contract we'll see if they can sustain now right they're gonna go to Iowa next week that won't Keys Roundtree out to the 15k in a three while we were away in commercial they got the phone to call somebody you love and you see some frustration there James Coley and Jake from long distance yeah they're just kind of talking it through and you know I think what's unique about this this is a partnership you know most times we look at coach to play a relationship coach tells the player what to do this is that's not how this works these two are on the same page they're on the same page mentally with this offense and they're we're trying to work it through say listen we're having a hard time separating from man coverage so let's get some crossing some rubs get our backs out and start getting some receivers open against this Missouri defense we documented earlier how good this Missouri defense is and Georgia's feeling the effects of that right now I'll start number 81 offense five-yard penalty there's no second there this is something that that Georgia has been doing a lot more of his de-stemming by their defensive line watch them they're all stem together there's a move from the linebacker and when they shift sometimes they'll get an offensive lineman or a tight in in this case Ocoee bounnam to jump off they've done it consistently the last couple of weeks it's been effective Missouri offense scored 31 points or more in each of the first six games of the season they were off to that great 5 and 1 start and then only managing 14 points and seven points each of the last two you Jay there were a lot of people that thought that Missouri coming into the season could potentially be eight no come down to this game they've been favored in every single game season prior to tonight expectations were high and we've seen coach autumn they've started slowly have great second abs yeah his November record is outstanding this season kind of the opposite they get off to the big start he's been great you know coming off of tough losses and I went into Florida last year and got a big win down there they stumbled right out of the gate as you see against Wyoming but the two losses that Vanderbilt and then at a Kentucky those are games are supposed to win okay and and those were embarrassing losses and look what they did the South Carolina the team that nearly destroyed Georgia's season right here but I won't but the bye week came at a good time for them this past week so they've made some changes and they've come out and competed in this room second down and 12 there's Powell for his own goal line shovels it to Roundtree with some Running Room and get out to the 18 yard line pickup of eight DJ Daniel forged them out you got to be careful with the football back here for Taylor Powell and I know that sometimes things break down and then then you go into the back yard mode but you're right before half it's still a two score game down 13 nothing really careful and living in the shadow of your own goal line still two timeouts third and three thing they got Georgia to jump might be a free play why not take a shot Oh in the outstretched arm Zack and Scott got a hand on it couldn't get two on it that's a great job by Powell recognizing that he had gotten the defense to jump and Scott has to lay out for this you have to do everything you possibly can to catch that football for your team and your quarterback five that's poor effort five-yard penalty results in a first half that's the play Missouri needed cam Scott sophomore from Texas broke in in a big way his first career reception was a 70 yard touchdown last season and nearly made the big play so you know receivers you got to get two hands on the football there's no reason to put wouldn't even try back there you know and you see receivers that will dive with two hands out he didn't even dive he didn't he didn't try to get two hands on it it's like he wanted to go after it with one hand 90 seconds ago on the half Missouri's run of the full bullet Roundtree Aziz OCHA Larry made the stop another flag now stop the clock and the Georgia player hits the deck and guess who second flat out yeah it's it's Cam Scott that's in there instigating you know after he gives poor effort on one plate comes back and he hurts his team on the next and he's gonna get an earful from Barry Odom I can guarantee you that and coaching staff told us about Scott but he is emotional he wants to win and that you hear him before you see him well Barry Odom doesn't want to hear anything from Camp Scott right now as they sort out the penalties and there's the conversation you can say he said look at me it doesn't matter what happens you got to keep your cool and you know he's trying to implement a program here that has discipline that's who Barry Odom is and he coaches defensive guys and now he's coaching his offensive guy to say listen I need you to mature I need you to roleplay unsportsmanlike conduct number thirteen offense penalties 15 yard and crachit half the distance to the goal it is second down that is not a 13th first unsportsmanlike conduct of the game yeah they're brutal back-to-back plays for Cam Scott it's frustrating I get it you know and you just can't continue to come on the road like this and he's got a lot of fire to him which which is good but you got to be able to harness that at the right time and have discipline and Cam Scott's trying to learn that just sophomore he will learn from that experience and actually what the officials gave him a lot of rope he threw four or five pushes the punches and finally got flagged in the last one well you know what happens when you drop a pass like that then then the defense gets in your ear so it wasn't just what you saw probably what he heard there tipped em off breakpoint clock coming up on the final minute of the half now second and 19 draw hand on a for an upstream lowers the shoulder take on some people and in that about the 22 I would college my count here folks if I was Georgia good idea Georgia's got two left Todd did you see that hit from Richard the count I mean he's not the biggest guy 190 pounds when he comes back he didn't get him to the love around tree on the ground but he certainly delivered a blow this is a guy I think he's going to play a long time at the next level and talking with Kirby smart about him said he's very instinctually diagnosis routes he loved him to communicate a little war and be a little more on the B's and cues with respect to his assignments but he's kind of like and then read sometimes he will add live and go do something crazy but he'll make the play and Powell will spend a time out with a play clock down to zeros George you didn't have to take a time out there cuz they went out of bounds that stopped the clock I was gonna go Troy Polamalu yeah yeah you know just a guy who you're watching the news what's he doing what's he reading and then he goes and makes the play Polamalu was he was around the line of scrimmage a whole lot look count to me plays deeper and Ed Reid nobody is Ed Reid okay I'm not comparing him ed Reid but I'm just saying that sometimes I remember when I would prepare to play at Reid he would be in positions he wasn't supposed to be in and I would think to myself how does he know that I'm trying to throw the ball over there I threw the interception to him one time and he was completely on the wrong side of the field and I asked him after the game was how did you know he's like well man I mean everything right well that's what that's what the count is he he sees things and he's instinctual and that's what you need is a safety was that was that read the player the Tom Brady had written down on his wristband with the plays to check where Edie Reid is on every single play smart yeah third down and 11 out of the Mizzou timeout still in the ball game here down 13 nothing final minute and a half trying to set up the screen to baby and he will not get back to the line of scrimmage it's a loss fourth down it's great effort there from the George Benson lime and Trayvon Walker yeah Georgia will spend the time out here to keep the clock is right here number 44 he's a true freshman and they are excited about him because he's a big man 65 290 pounds but he can really run and you see him run down the screen here he actually runs down on kickoffs Steve he's to my knowledge the only defensive lineman to be on a kickoff team that is how talented Trayvon Walker is he's an athletic marvel and they're really excited about his future here well the fastest guys on the team at 6'5 290 and get redshirt freshman he's gonna get bigger I get faster too but he missed the Kentucky and South Carolina games with the wrist surgery he's just a pup I mean if he looks young 18 years old and he's gonna be a heck of a player there's McCann [Music] standing at his own six so we get some pressure from Georgia here 47 seconds left and all they back off and set up for the return laylock hit immediately at the 38 yard line great play there from Khalil Oliver on the punt team getting down and making making that play if you give up a return there all of a sudden it brings in a field goal potentially before half into play but Georgia hadn't been able to get much going on on offense give credit to this Missouri defense they have been aggressive Troy Walters their defensive coordinator told us yesterday that they were going to come into this game to win and they were not going to change who they are which is being aggressive and coming after Jake Fromm and they've been able to cover the receiver to the total yards the second quarter that's interesting - six for Georgia how you want to play this for the Bulldogs here with one timeout left try the draw with Swift on first down Jordan Elliott to stop and timeout Georgia will take their last timeout well Kirby smart says if I can pop a draw here and maybe I'll make a decision to get more aggressive but if it were me I would give I have a hundred percent confidence in Jake from I would be aggressive this is a two score game thirteen nothing you you know that Missouri's defense has confidence but I would give cager a chance because you know Missouri's gonna play man-to-man and if he's matched up against Jarvis we're just give him a chance down the field and get into Roderigo blankenship range pretty quickly and Georgia will get the ball to start the second half there's no risk there speaking of blankenship I think the the South Carolina Blues are gone from him I've been impressed with the way he put that miss in overtime behind him he's moved forward and he has really gotten back his rhythm he was wearing those pink cleats wears pink at home silver bullets on the road past a grouse to respect the specs here's Rob exactly greased justice get a big playin a cager for 30 yards taking virtually no time off the clock yeah why not put the ball in the hands of your best players Jake from and Lauren's cager it's not man-to-man instead it's too deep and a great read from Jake from to know how to throw that ball in the hole and now cager is down at the 33 yard line after making that catch he took a hard hit from Gillespie Tyree Gillespie the safety and you hope that he just got his wind knocked out of him great concentration you know you're gonna get hit as a receiver when you throw that whole shot in too deep and Gillespie comes up I think that's a clean hit there's no issues with that right in between the corner where and Gillespie the cager grab gives Georgia their first first down of the second quarter I think how much Lauren's cager means to this offense if he didn't if he didn't decide to transfer to Georgia where this offense would be and for that matter Eli Wolff the tight end who's our leading receiver at the tight end position look at the transferred in as well and I don't think that's the wind knocked out of him a lot of things fortunately yeah and the reason there were opportunities for cager and wolves really Georgia lost five of their top receivers from a year ago a couple of guys left early for the NFL me call Hardman and Riley Ridley including Isaac Nauta the tight end is among their leading receiver yeah actually swifty understood the running back was their top returning returning receiver of the wideouts they had just 13 catches coming back so that opened up spots for the transfer to graduate ranchers and that would be a huge loss if they lose cager he wasn't moving that left arm at all 24 seconds left his frog and Pickens went up four with one arm Jarvis we're on the coverage yep there's that one hand right we mentioned it earlier the coaches are autumn because all these guys want to be Odell Beckham jr. and make the catch listen this this tries me crazy okay it's it's becoming a problem in football and Kirby smart selling the same thing like listen you got two hands you know God gave you two hands use both of them to go up and catch the football and Lawrence cager doesn't follow him he's the one that leads this this unit and you're right it's become such a problem with Perkins that they actually tell him to do push-ups when he doesn't go up with two hands in practice he's got to do 20 push-ups every time he goes up for a one-handed grab even if he makes the catch and only only 20 because they need them for the next super easy and there's yeah there's the one-handed yeah it's an epidemic it really is everybody wants to be on SportsCenter top ten and make that play I tell you this I wouldn't throw the ball his way okay like that that that will cure it okay if jake from says listen kid I love you you're you're you know high recruit all these things but I need you to give me max effort and do things the right way the details as Kirby smart loves to say and that is go up with two hands maybe to go up with one you better make the Odell Beckham jr. catch and hang on your crowd loading up just too far the ami outstretched arms of Kiara subjection he gave you the full a perder it was a great route from Jackson and just thrown a little bit too far great effort there look at these layout right compare that to Camp Scott on the other side no comparison right I mean that's how you do it you give everything and just a little bit too far 47 yard field goal attempt Kirby won at six let's see B settles for three here [Applause] Blankenship's on the way and it just curves in and good and that'll do it zeros on the clock Blankenship connects and Georgia will go to the locker room 16 nothing lead 16 point lead but the big thing that the dog nation is wondering is what about Lawrence Cajun set you back to Matt Joey and Jesse fellows take it away you're watching the SEC on ESPN presented by Hampton by Hilton welcome back Athens Georgia Saturday night in the SEC and the home team number six for now Georgia with a 16 to nothing lead over Missouri and LSU likely needs an opponent in the SEC championship game upcoming as we hit December but for now still November 4 I agree see I'm Steve Levy and look at that second quarter Georgia had just 26 yards offense and now their top play maker the number one go-to guy for Jake Brom could be out yeah certainly a concern because he is their top playmaker and really they haven't had consistent production from the wide receiver position outside of Lawrence cagers so we'll see if he's able to come back in this football game kind of an odd play he got hurt on made a terrific catch down the sideline chuk yuen moly see if she has anything to add on the injury georgia doesn't get a whole lot of sympathy from folks around the country know what they wanted and the Bulldogs forget the ball first to open up the third quarter Jake Cromwell starting out at the 25-yard line here's the play which Kaiser was hurt Oh that's the first couple of catches that was in the first quarter he was making plays downfield and he was going after where this is the last play he got hurt on and it's tough to tell what happened he got up and then he was walking off and he and he kind of caught himself and went back down and he didn't move that left arm a whole lot you know that could be that could be anything he took a hit in the ribs maybe but it's hard to speculate but he's not out there on the field right now six catches 93 yards for Lawrence cager in that first half from the 25 Fromme on the ground of the Andres Swift on first pad has got pushed down yardage and running away from people on the Missouri side of the field that he spins down to the 26 [Music] [Applause] it's a gain of 47 on the first play from scrimmage look at this cut two cuts first one right here on the inside and then another one a shallow cut on Gillespie the safety and that that is the talent from D Andre Swift and you know Kobe's smart was in that locker room he sent it to Mali on the way in we got a run the football and on the first play in the second half that's exactly what they do especially now with the injury to cager more emphasis on the run game on first down and ten and swift again why not here's Molly McGrath Rossi Georgia wide receiver Lawrence cagers left shoulder was hanging by his side when he left the field at halftime and that is the same shoulder that he separated earlier this season I'm told that he is out for the rest of the game with the left shoulder injury he has not returned to the field and also George's starting center Trey Hill also out with a left ankle injuries to big-time players on this Georgia offense now that is that is not a good sign for Kirby smart and the UK drew if you go back and look at he did come down on the ground on that left shoulder second down and six here's hariom he's taken for a loss Nick Bolton the top tackler in the SEC threw a two-yard loss I can take one last look at Cajun when he comes out watch his left shoulder when he comes down on the sideline right there it wasn't it wasn't a whole lot but after you've injured that shoulder already this season it doesn't take a whole lot to reactivate that and we wondered all week Jake Fromm and the trusting of his receivers there's cager and who's behind him and now someone will have to emerge someone that Fromm feels comfortable throwing to in a big spot like right here third down and eight at the 26 of Mizzou from left endzone looking for Pickens Jarvis we're on the coverage there are no flags boy you see the speed of George pickets he runs right by where but where does it give up gets back in there just gets a hand up there is no face guarding that's a great job of recovering from Jarvis where there's Blankenship 43 yard attempt he made all but all nine points in the second quarter on his three field goals three time grows a semi-finalists Rodrigo Blankenship and no good missed it to the left the school remains 16 the nothing now this is exactly how he missed in the overtime against South Carolina he missed just to the left it's been such a consistent quality kicker for so long here talking with Kirby smarty he says he doesn't know what he's gonna do next year after he doesn't have Blankenship he's never not had a great kicker here at Georgia at his time because he's been here off for years and he really doesn't know what he doesn't know when blakenship graduates Blankenship the fifth on the all-time scoring list from the SEC came into this one with 389 total points and again he has three field goals but misses they're keeping Missouri in the game Larry Roundtree ball carrier it really is amazing that Missouri is in this football game with that with zero offensive production they have not been able to get anything going and then we knew there was going to be a challenge with Powell subbing in for Kelly Bryant with that hamstring injury but is there some way for them to find some kind of offense they haven't been run it and they really haven't had a lot of consistency thrown at either Roundtree ran into his own player ran into tight-end Daniel Parker who has been so important in that Missouri running game for a loss of too it hasn't been pretty tonight yeah guys falling down without being touched talk about tailor power and how difficult this environment is he's not getting a whole lot of help from his teammates either [Applause] Georgian rushing just for not gonna matter Powell is dropped for the sack Aziza Lauri and Clay Walker combined on the sack [Applause] there's tight windows there are some throws to be made for Taylor Powell he wants to throw this ball out here to debate II it's really well covered the ball should end up coming right here on the shallow cross it's not a big window it's just enough but that's his only throw that's a tough assignment for Powell to go from 1 to 2 to 3 in this environment v 3 and out for Missouri Tucker McCann punting for the 7th time Blalock in the thirty-seventh Dominic Blaylock across midfield little stutter step and he's forced out on the Missouri side of the field 43 yard punt 16 yard return Taylor foul welcome to the SCC at night [Music] you're watching veterans week coverage on ESPN brought to you by USAA [Music] night's meeting all-time between Georgia and Missouri first ever hook up in November Georgia leads seven to one they met first in 1960 the orange fall the Bulldogs on that game 14 to nothing again we sued all our veterans all week and weekend long and publisher do it all year long every single H and every day deandre swift trying to turn the corner gain of three Jarvis where and be tackled we're gonna see a lot of Swift to his half yeah right Todd I've been impressed with Jarvis where he's he's been good in past coverage he's been in man-to-man on Laurens cage and on Cajuns made some plays on him but then you see him in the run game coming up and being physical making an open field tackle on on swift who's one of the most difficult guys to get down in the open field herion cheques in now second down and seven at the 44 of the Tigers off the play fake frog completes the Pickens and he has first down yardage gain of nine on the play Jake from came in completing 70 percent of his passes that improves to 79 percent off play action right there right there as I give a compliment to where he's he's beaten and I wasn't gonna say it but you could see like he's really worried about the speed of George Pickens like he was much too far off on Pickens and I think it was because of the way the Pickens ran by him on that to previous drive almost gave up the touchdown it's Tyler Simmons top of your screen Robertson they're going to give it to him Demetrius Robinson leaping over a teammate crashes down the 19 dimitra's Robert City hungover Charlie murder for a gain of 16 really nice effort from Warner you seem come from the opposite side it just gets a little piece of Josh blood so there gets another eight or eight or ten yards for Robertson running the ball that's exactly what Kirby smart wanted to do here in the second half it's been swift one pass to George Perkins on this Drive and then the run to Robertson see Jake from a lot of people think that he's just checking in the run and the pass game but he's also checking in the run game from Auto Center here's harrion the hard wrong there Tyree Gillespie Ronelle Perkins gain of 6 which is not easy to do from a quarterback yes position you know you're always thinking about protections and pass routes and defenses and coverages and not a lot of quarterbacks take the time to learn the run game but Jake from has and it's helped this team as you see that's Christian homes the corner down on the field [Music] ESPN college football brought to you by Audi and I ha pancakes pancakes pancakes [Music] legendary vince dooley the head coach of georgia from 25 seasons 1 6 SEC titles in the 1980 national championship some derek is on the other side of things the offensive coordinator for Missouri then the grandson Jay team dualism is on the Georgia staff was a wide receiver on the team last year got injured maybe wants to get in the family business that's pretty cool you know we were talking with Derek about JT unfortunately he had back surgery this this summer and he's had to kind of hang up the cleats he was a receiver for Georgia last year but I think he think he might have a future coaching here's James Cook the ball carrier I do know this at 87 Vince still he's not slowing down be active all yard work every day meet and greets right bugs there's JT signals in some of the offensive plays so he's working so that's pretty cool three generations right here tonight but he said he couldn't talk to dad this week that was the deal yeah that's a rule no texting right Derek says we go dark starting on Sunday of the week we're about to play each other and so they hadn't embraced much or they spoke we so the still picture maybe they didn't speak that you shook hands maybe a hug and they'll talk afterwards no doubt who grandpa's rootin for tonight Derek is on his own third down and two [Applause] Enzo knocked away try to go to Eli Wolfe Tyree Gillespie broke it up that might have been the first time Wolf's been targeted all night yeah it was wide open great play design it's just under throwing here is right here he's gonna come out but watch Jake from the thing that worries me about Jake front look this is wide open right but look at his feet he doesn't drive through with his feet on this throw and that's why it's short if there's one thing that I see with Jake from that that he can get better at it is really working on his lower body and driving through throws he missed that one he knows he knows 29 yard field goal attempt for a regal Blankenship missed the last one cut that one pretty close 19 nothing number 6 children [Music] field goals in the game he's got four tonight he is a finalist for the William V Campbell trophy presented by Mazda that's also known as the academic Heisman Trophy recognizing the best football scholar athlete for their combined academic success football performance and leadership you know he graduated laude last December in a 3.7 1 GPA in digital journalism he's gonna be your boss pretty soon they didn't have digital journalism back today it was strictly journalism and I am reminded by my sports in a pal John Anderson Missouri has one of the s fine fine journalism departments in all that's one of my favorite Awards of the year everybody talks about the Heisman I just loved that one right because it combines everything about being a student-athlete and Rodrigo Blankenship has done it as good as anyone hashtag respect respects get my son wears glasses right now I want my kids I want I want him to see you know guys like Rodrigo Blankenship that that do it the right way on in off the field he makes that look cool huh he's got no problem around pretty cool name to rob Rico Blankenship 98 in your program number one in your heart the Georgia record by the way four field goals made the game six phillies Bennett 2001 and see if Rodrigo has a crack at that tonight and you know Kirby smarts not happy with that the red zone offense gives power and some trouble escape and now taken down it's nolan smith the sack loss tonight on the play Smith among the top high school recruits in the country a year ago coming to Georgia well they're just trying to run a roll out to protect Powell from this rush but you can see the inexperience right and you never roll out to one side you never ever retrace and go back to the other way because you're not blocked on that side and there's nothing that Powell can do it's an easy sack second and 19 again no Kelly Bryant the hamstring injury did not heal during the week throw and catch the Jonathan Nance good lick out of bounds by Richard lecount keen to 20 on the play mentioned Nolan Smith and that gets into Georgia and they were recruiting things have been just fine and dandy in that department since Kirby Smith came along could be smarter biggie partner [Applause] Smith was the number two overall recruit behind Kavon Thibodeau out in Oregon play with those numbers alright Georgia has him as he was the more recruits but the bottom line you see the last three years they've been top three recruiting and a lot of that has been on the offensive and defensive lines and that's been I think the biggest difference for Kirby Smart he said they're kind of leaders were similar from the skills that standpoint baby trying to cut back forget about it runs in a big 99 Jordan Davis may be the biggest man on the field at 66 they list him at 3:30 we think he's closer to 350 maybe 360 and you can't move the guy I've been he's fun to watch he really is he's here classic three-four nose tackle middle of the defense and each see double teams where he literally just stands right there and doesn't move an inch third down and five mezuzah is one of eight on third down conversion attempts and that one is dropped Okoye boredom couldn't come up with that one Tyreke Stevenson on the coverage looked like a pretty good ball from Powell there yeah it could have been out on the sideline there's no Coulomb's expecting it to be on the sideline it's a little bit inside he's got to go back and that's that allows Tyreke Stevenson to get a hand on that football but again they have to match up they wanted their best player who a bounnam on a true freshman Stephenson and a more accurate ball might have got a first down here's McCann nice punt drives Blaylock back to the 14 and he'll be taken down by a host of bodies it's a 46-yard punt from Tucker McCann big fella Kirby Smart said Davis if I ran as much him my wife would be happy because I'd be skinny that's what you say [Music] Matt berry with your aid TNT best performance checking in on Oklahoma and Iowa State Jalen hurts to see Neil Am and CD does the rest 63 yards it was his 31st reception for a touchdown second-most in Oklahoma history right now boomer up 28-14 over Iowa State lady Barry just a reminder there are a lot of really good one-loss teams now around the country a lot of really good one loss to you how about there were six two loss teams ahead of Minnesota in the first rankings that's gonna change fast Tuesday night will be fascinating right Tuesday night you'll get a real feel I think you have to have a jumping-off point and we got that last unless Tuesday night with Clemson on the outside looking in at number five knowing the top four are well we're to knock each other off today and we'll meet in a couple of weeks as well so we have our Baylor in Minnesota both undefeated who would have guessed that after nine weeks game date to Baylor next week about that the weight the weight go vision very swift he's already he's not waiting to add to the game what's he eating there lady swedish fish course oh one for me one for you look at the steam come to forget to forget turnover chains fish for the big man George has been able to convert on third down to start but since they started five or six it failed to convert in the last seven [Applause] that's pickings for the first out that's a good sign there from Georgia getting Pickens involved in the passing game Jake from anticipating throwing this ball out on the sideline it's a great ball he's got to develop listen we don't know how this Russa injured cager is so Jake from the rest of this game if I'm him I'm using this opportunity to work with these young receivers give them some opportunities to show that I can trust you we were talking with him yesterday said you know there's some of them I can trust and someone working with so use this opportunity no time to wait they go to Auburn next week and no sympathy for Georgia anyway there's Harry bullying his way forward getting a push from his friends and forward progress will give him the first down gain him 11 on the play it's nice to see Brian here and get some touches he had an unbelievable play a week ago that one-handed catch against Florida now look at him in between the tackles they love his ability to catch on in the backfield and I think this physical style of running in between the tackles and takes some heat off at deandre swift that's a real asset first out of 10 from their own 41 yard line [Music] [Applause] Harriett the ball-carrier ball popped out Gosei he was down certainly looked like he was down yeah knees down then the ball comes out look like that left knee was down the right knee was on top of somebody else [Applause] you didn't have any trouble holding on the ball last week at a career receiving game for CAPTCHAs out of the backfield 46 yards to to snap it there's the clap and there's the ball [Music] from zip sit in the mat Landers that ball comes out and they're gonna say incomplete Barry Odom is going to be upset again you see that Missouri sideline thinking they deserve a better fate on one of those last two plays this is the inconsistency of these Georgia wide receivers this time Landers is a nice job finding the hole getting the football and he turns up field and the ball comes out you know heating wasn't on the same page with with Jake from in the South Carolina game which led to a big interception in that game so this is this is what I'm talking about it's just the consistency with these receivers of doing the little things that details right on every single play third down nine put up a low snap swift picks up the linebacker and throm trying to squeeze it in there and it is Karras Jackson for the first down took it off the grass 14 yards for the first this is really interesting because we're watching Jake from pick a couple of these receivers right watch Jake from here now okay he's gonna take one hitch he's gonna take two hitches and he's waiting to confirm how Jackson is gonna come out of his break you see that he just had to wait one more one more second he wasn't confident until he saw him come out of his break but he gave him a chance and Jackson came up with a first down really interesting to watch Jake from kind of picked pick and choose who am I gonna throw this ball to who am I gonna trust caught that off his facemask they're gonna take a look at that so though why they look at it I don't want to be debbie downer here at Greece and I know Georgia's up 19 than nothing and the Bulldogs played very well tonight well I think Missouri is a good defense okay they've Georgia's played great defensively now they've lost their Center and they've lost their nice one past capture so no they haven't been you know flawless by any stretch but they haven't been flawless all year on offense they've been growing and I think they need to continue to grow I think when when Kirby smart said look we need to run the ball better at halftime they've come out and they've run it better with Swift in the second half so but this is not like next week is going to be a different animal okay they get to the SEC championship game that's gonna be a different animal but that's my point they can't play this way against Auburn and and hope to be successful so but but it is the the growing maturation process that we're seeing now with cage you're down you're right early review the Robins gotta find two people first down and trauma is starting to pick his spot two different receivers that will go as a catch off his facemask they're gonna be in every game I think because of their defense and their ability to run the ball behind a big offensive line with Swift and they have probably the most experienced and smartest quarterback in college football so those are the things they got going for the downside is you know that the maturation and the skill positions it's particularly wide receiver coming up on the final half minute she George's offense so well below their season average what's still a quarter to play here is Swift out to the 40-yard line pick up a three arm plane that could very well be the last play of the third quarter Georgia rush for just 42 yards in the first half and have about 97 yards rushing this quarter three in the books the sold out Saturday night in awe at Foos Georgia the home team would appear to be in command up 19 nothing and with a football driving [Music] you're watching the FCC ESPN having a good old time there in Athens Georgia sold out as usual 93,000 on hand Julie field at Sanford Stadium you know after South Carolina one here their athletic director ray Tanner had to apologize Georgia officials Gamecock players were removing pieces of the hedges in celebration after the win here can't steal the hedges man so we open up quarter number four Georgia with the ball and the lead flip to Harriet down the sideline gain of seven first down [Applause] talked about it came out of the backfield catching the balls got good hands oh my gosh last week this may have been the catch of the year watch this I mean that's unbelievable and see Kirby smart right there in the visor he's jumping up in the air I asked him I said what you think he says the most unbelievable catch ever seen and he is a guy that that they feature on third down situations and I think can be a target and an asset for them in the passing game especially if Kaiser is gonna be out for a significant period and he comes from good stock he is the god son of the late Steve McNair great hands it's like they're reviewing the spot on this last place you got the first down marker lined the game see Big Ben Cleveland out there 74 yeah and that plus where the ball is remember him definitely looks like when he stepped out that ball may have been because it's in his right hand right there and I think that's a good a good review there I think it's a little bit short one side of the field the down marker says first down on the other side of the field it says third down that's a great look right there Schwab yeah I think that that ball should be closer to the 35 yard line right now they've got it spotted just outside the 33 if he is sure to be third down make no question if it is third down Kirby smarts gonna run this football and from him I want to run it right behind Andrew Thomas you haven't talked a whole lot about him but he is one of the best offensive linemen in college football their left tackle and just this week he was named a finalist for the Outland Trophy Award and I wouldn't be shocked if he wins it now a chance to visit with him yesterday fine young man after further review the rule against the runner was out of bounds with the ball at the 34 and a half yard line a half yards short of the line to gain every third in a half yard line crowd did not enjoy that there's some question as for Thomas he'll play on Sundays play in the NFL but they wonder if he's gonna play at left tackle me but there's another spot for him on Sundays I think he could play left off yeah I do too I think with his footwork he's got a good athleticism for his size in worst case he's playing at right tackle and doesn't really matter anymore anyway so well I was watching him run at 320 pounds watching him running practice yesterday it was he had no problem so getting out and on screens and things like that they asked me to do that at the tackle position I think that's right up his out Andrew Thomas tonight's PlayStation Player impact rating special player of the game swept pretty close looks like he got it there [Applause] Todd more on Andrew Thomas we just saw there wasn't right behind Thomas but there this is this is Andrew Thomas time where they're gonna run the football like I said he's gonna be a starting tackle in the NFL I actually think he's gonna be the first offensive lineman drafted coming up in this next class I think in pass protection he's very good across the board there's really not a negative aspect to his game and he keeps getting better as he continues to get stronger and work on his footwork Cade Mays is the injured player down for Georgia he's already been filling in for Trey Hill yeah that would be the second Center down right there's Trey Hills out of the game looked like a an ankle and here's Cade Mays right here can't really see what happened to him to get fallen on at the end of that play but without their top two centers be interesting to see what they do at that position good of a high snap and from the throw and so all you can see the official had problems getting his flag out Pickens the intended target we're on the coverage and the flags were flying yeah Jarvis wears women's stride for stride he just needs to turn back and look for the ball if you're not looking back for the ball and you have any contact with the recess interference number eight defense although it looked like Dickens had the back over here I was pulling in our Swenson where was trying to keep his arms off as I look at this again I don't I don't know what this is pass interference don't you see the right hand of Pickens pulled him yeah pulling him into her that's a tough call for that field judge but I think that was not pass interference I think where's got a point where's played a very nice game as you pointed out here tonight we need to keep an eye on that that last snap from tamari Sawyer the the third Center he probably hadn't got a lot of reps at center I know he hasn't got a lot of reps I watched practice and he didn't get any map Center so keep an eye on these snaps Trey hill and Kade Mayes both injured tonight did he come up with that he did touchdown Georgia we'll look at this a few hundred times [Applause] we talked about Jake from trying to find some confidence in these young receivers and as a true freshman George Pickens has the most talent of any receiver on this Georgia team it's just the consistency of performance that Jake's looking for that time he gives them an opportunity to go up and make a play he goes up with two hands after the conference with Kirby smart makes an unbelievable play go push up this time what a catch for George picking second touchdown catch of the night Georgia will go for two attempt to make it 27 to nothing and his teens and the back wheel to the store [Applause] Jake from his second touchdown pass tonight 67th of his career who ties Eric sire for third loads from Georgia history there are some players that just make everybody better and Jake from is that is the quintessential leader on this team that just makes everybody better you're telling me no cager okay no starting Center no backup Center we got replacements all over the field here and all he does is raise the level of play of everybody on the field that was all Jake from placement of this throw the confidence that he's showing in these young players first to a true freshman and then he comes back to a sophomore and Cooke seeing these guys grow up tonight little feel-good for Georgia and that is the first touchdown since the opening drive of the game by the Bulldogs Todd it's fun to watch him you know this is one of those games that like as a pitcher when you just don't have your stuff and it's not going well it's ugly but you got to win ugly and he's just been grinding the sidelines the whole game he's been working on all these young guys and you get to see his leadership down here that's a great example baseball Jim starting pitcher doesn't have his best stuff to grind through but he wants to go the distance [Music] alright guys checking in on Notre Dame you take it on Duke Ian book continuing to have a shark night gets in for the tougher the touchdown pass twenty eight seven there in the third quarter over on acc networking coming up we got a little Boise State after dark ten twenty the kickoff right here on ESPN hosting Wyoming that more still to come this evening here on the green between the hedges 27 to nothing Georgia here's pal to throw on first down and complete the Jonathan Nance Wow click of a for all the play is second grep [Applause] see that Georgia defense gets the quarterback making his first start as 20th then still incredibly impressive 24 scoreless quarters tied to the most along with Ohio State they got the defensive part Picard out Dawson downing off the fingers flirt down it'll be interesting to see and I know there's a big game you know next week on the plains against Auburn and they still have Texas A&M but you can't help but start to think about this Georgia team and what they would look like against that less you in the championship game in Atlanta right if those two teams continue to win out and get there is this defense is fashioned just like Alabama's defense and we saw what happened to them today try to go to Alberto Kui boredom couldn't haul that one in and it's another but I think this Georgia defense is a better version of Alabama it's the same style but I think they've got better players more experienced players right now on this Georgia defense than they do at Alabama and to me it starts in the secondary with Reed and the count those two guys really have played at a high level this season for Georgia we saw what Joe Perot did to that Alabama defense yeah if you think that's similar to the Georgia defense well nobody's gonna stop LSU I don't think that's gonna happen I the question is will Georgia Heaven us enough offense to keep up with pure objection Bobby was taken down in a good second effort and he's out to the 33 yard line 52 yard punt by Tucker McCann two minutes into the fourth 27 to nothing Georgia is there coming [Music] ESPN college football is presented by panted by Hilton college football stays here book now at Hampton dot-com and in part by RVs our beams we have the means look so it's not the black hole in Oakland to get the idea the spike squad here in Athens created in 2010 to create insane amounts of school spirit they expect some 35 40 members they pay their own way to attend Road games they know everything about Georgia sports knowledge of the Bulldog bite song some custom style Taco Bell celebrating student sections and passionate fans like these by Ward in the live ma student section of the year the Georgia Bulldogs student section and Olga you know he's already on the national watchlist you can go to espn.com slash Taco Bell see how your school can compete or get the committee's attention by using the hashtag live mas student section contest as mentioned every week you can get Molly's attention on Twitter I'd like to know what Molly thinks of the spike squad down there so Molly rates every single week does the student sections from around the country what kind of grade are you going to give the Georgia crowd next week I'm gonna give them a pretty good grade they showed up early and they're staying late despite the big disparity in this game so I love Georgia student section all right it looks like it just started with the shoulder pads and then the spikes and then then the paint we need a Molly big board they put in a fight I'm gonna go with the guys with the black hole and Oakland oh but if push comes to shove yeah but if spike squad for the black hole I'm gonna leave George the black hole anybody coming with me you had an experience in the black hole this the Chucky doll it's a scary spot that guy looks serious it's like a Georgia Captain America thing going on there what about the red visor it just doesn't seem to fit in there hey how about where the red box hurt tonight his third eleven now get back to the game [Music] some pressure coming from Missouri Rob Laughlin got a man middle of the field who else it's George Pickett for the hat trick touchdown catches that one 468 in the score and it's all torture now [Music] [Applause] and there is a flag down way back in the 31 nation five players in the back field when they are [Applause] all for not coming back boy Jake Fromm did everything there he got the protection lined up I think it's they're gonna call it right here on that on the tackle but he got everything picked up protection wise he had the perfect play call to Pickens down the middle all for naught and the thing that's so impressive I know it's a penalty and they're walking it back but just watching him managed inside the pocket feeling pressure on the outside he's a quarterback you got to climb the ladder you gonna get good up that's what he does he trusts his protection and he knows when when there's pressure coming and he just kind of had a sense about it it's very unique for a young quarterback Todd that was Pickens who was supposed to be on the line of scrimmage because the tight end was off and when the tight ends off one of the receivers to his side need to be on the ball sorry that's just to show you the they pull your hair out these young guys here's Fromm looking for Robertson there and it's incomplete and another tackle for Georgia on the stilt down on the fields that I say Wilson it is oh my goodness that would be the third offensive lineman that Georgia has lost in this game alone they go right down the line Center right guard right tackle now Wow well they're gonna win this football game but at what cost with a huge game coming up next week against Auburn is right here he gets hit by this game can't end soon enough for Georgia and you would think they'd get Jake Fromm outta there he's lost three starting offensive linemen tonight yeah Trey Hill goes down and then his backup Kate Mays goes down then Lawrence kaija right before half hurts that shoulder again so like we said this this is going to be could be a costly victory for Georgia but they're really fortunate that they've got a lot of depth on that offensive line get two of those offensive lineman Cleveland and Salyer standing in front of camarda the punter and the pressure comes it might have been some contact camarda went down like a spinning top as the ball bounced out of Babs there a couple of flags it looks like this might be the running into the kicker variety of five yards and if it is I don't think that Kirby Smart is gonna accept it because that was a pretty good punt and out of bounds around the 20 was fourth and 16 yeah personal foul though would be automatic first down running into the kicker number 58 defense the penalty is declined first down it goes to the 53-yard punt or watching for the contact [Music] yeah you got a piece of [Music] Missouri has ten possessions six of them three and outs nine have gone for punts and Connor Bay's luck is in the game at quarterback taking snaps and relief of Taylor Powell baby it's contact and the crowd enjoys that tape Crowder with a big-time lick on baby for 6 yard game Connor basil AK is a true freshman from Dayton Ohio where all the great compliments from the coaching staff says got the best arm on the roster can make every throw at the best arm of the quarterbacks right now see we gonna look at that here tonight yeah it's certainly a good place to start with a good arm and I just gotta learn what to do oh [Laughter] baby going nowhere maybe backwards even if I'm Barry Odom I'm taking baby out of this game I mean he's one of your top playmakers he in Alberto Oakley pulling them in you don't want to lose either one of those guys we might lose this battle but you don't want to lose them for the war either and I won most lives because I get the chance of Kelly Bryant was pretty close to going but they didn't want to risk him for the rest of the way so maybe they sacrificed this one a game they probably weren't going to poor games down the stretch Tennessee and Arkansas that they might be able to win but I talked to Barry Odom before the game and he of course didn't say that was a competitor just like everyone but he said multiple times that he just had to talk his quarterback out of it basically he's like I have a medical staff and they said he's not ready to go and I've got to trust him but but boy Kelly Bryant really wanted to play it was begging me to be on this field but it's the right thing for the young man and it's the right thing for our program for the rest of the year we just don't want to lose him for the rest of the season Taylor Powell was 10 of 22 84 yards through the one interception room he wasn't gonna be the difference right in this game and there was nothing Kelly Bryan was gonna do that it's gonna make a difference tonight so I agree with Barry Odom and keep him for the next three games meanwhile the baseline thrown the ball pretty good he's got two completions here one two told you the best arm on the roster was expect Florida comes a-callin to Columbia next week then Tennessee and all but then at Arkansas to finish the schedule and sir he's got some other things there were that's still waiting on the n-c-double-a yeah a ruler's their appeal which is seemingly not to seemingly actually been going on forever the approach nine minutes left in the fourth dumped it off to babies across midfield half the first down yardage I know the NCAA is it seems to be a target right everyone takes shots at them and I understand but in this case what what are we doing great question it's the age-old what are we doing probably yeah the postseason ban was the sanctions were handed down on January 31st and then they appealed and july's you see that completion and amale's got the rest of the story yeah you know in previous cases the committee takes four to eight weeks to respond after they see the appeals committee and when I asked Barry Odom about it you could tell he was really really upset about it he was extremely frustrated he admitted that it weighs on him and his team he said in a 24 hour period of time he thinks about this once every five minutes that's a lot so it's definitely taken over his mind Steve Thank You Molly second down and four Dawson downing nothing doing there and I think a lot of is because of recruiting force it is yeah the signing day is less than a month away and Barry Odom needs to know who kind of work what sanctions he's operating under and here and here was my takeaway line Odom said there are kids who were an eighth grade when this went down that are going to be directly impacted by this if the n-c-double-a in fact those come down on the program they have come down as just whether they accept the appeal and take away the postseason ban [Applause] hard hit Dominic Jacinto his first grab and young quarterback young Connor there is five four five faster yeah the Jacinto might have something to say the quarterback when he comes back to the huddle like yeah we got a first down but but might not want to lead me into that role corner next he just met DJ Daniel it's a nice job filling in for Tyson Campbell that's a good-looking Drive this is you know the number two defense pretty much for Georgia out there when you see big 99 he's still in there Jordan Davison nose guard [Applause] basil AK throwing it took out a few hedges Monti rice had the pressure just got introduced to Monte Rice hey so you know the incident belay coming down on Missouri the bowl ban is not necessarily in fact because that they don't rule no ruling it's what allowed Missouri to potentially play in a bowl game this season well there's going to be a ruling all right kids any day now it should have been a long time ago it'll be before the bowl scene they expected it a month ago here's the 11th play of the drive coming up down the sideline Jalen Knox targeted for the first time tonight I believe DJ Daniel the coverage for Georgia so though she's having to go that's an example of a young quarterback right there reading the receiver right when he's not beyond the corner you need to throw it on the back shoulder and so when he gets to this position right here you got to say okay well I gotta throw on the back shoulder not down the field and that's just experience and there's no way to get that timing down without actually having the reps so this is good for a base like to get some live game reps in this situation third down and ten caught Barrett Bannister and a host of new names are being introduced for this Missouri offense this now their deepest penetration into Georgian territory as they have the ball feed Georgia 16 [Applause] [Music] downing the ball-carrier to the ten and now cracks down inside the 5-yard line these Georgia fans they certainly want to see a shutout but a real sense of pride has been not allowing a single rushing touchdown all season get 12 men on the field on that last play I think they're just going to decline it take that run and have first Eagle fraction feet bets had too many players on the field declined when you know that Missouri wants to get some some points on the board and after scoring four rushing touchdowns in this game a year ago against Georgia you would anticipate that they're gonna try to run this ball into our bringing in the heavy package both tight ends are coming in and if you watch Kirby score on the sidelines nobody on the pill wants more than him the starters still in there on the Georgia defense on the ground downing won't get there stopped at the two and a half second and goal they did bring two starters back into the game they've brought David Marshall and Jermaine Johnson off the sidelines when the substitutions came in so there's no question they want to keep these guys out of the end zone on the ground of the previous eight meetings all-time Georgia and Missouri Bulldogs able to shut the Tigers out twice two of the previous eight keep them out of the end zone here second down and goal and a timeout at Barry Odom called the timeout and if you ever wanted to score a touchdown which I know Barry Odom does play action would be the right time right all right we'll watch for that we come back back in Athens take a look at our Buick Drive recap Missouri on the move here young the true freshman Conor basil AK with a couple of good throws conversions on third down that one to bear it Bannister and now they are knocking on the door here can they punch it in and end the streak of no rushing touchdowns on Georgia's defense they got the big back in there Dawson downing at 225 pounds he calls the play action here huh I play action - oh quit foolin second and goal then Georgia has yet to allow a rushing touchdown all season hand it off boss be this time either mati rice for loss [Applause] it's bonny rice here he is right here is just going to come off the edge Tim landing their defensive coordinator deciding to bring pressure and that not only does that keep him out of the end zone but now it puts them in a situation where they almost have to throw the football to get it in on third down from the five might be the loudest as crowds been all night they want the shutout third and goal from the five to throw for it back in the endzone off the fingertips of Jonathan ants and into some hedges let's go up down it's good throw from basil AG he gave him a chance would have been a tough catch for Nance but they're gonna go for it here on fourth down obviously surprised that anything they have okay put them in the game on the last he's back in there now I've got three wide receivers to one side of the field and Okoye bounnam is by himself at the top of the screen up here this shutouts important to Georgia you can tell about 27 nothing fourth the Gulf please lack to throw for one-handed and jacinto can't come up with it Marc Webb had the coverage and they'll turn it over on and the goose egg remains on the Missouri side of the scoreboard just sits up out of the chance at it we're talking I don't even know if you could have got two hands and talked a lot about receivers getting two hands up tonight and I think I think he needed to go with one hand just to be able to get a hand on the ball to try to bring it back down and make that catch would have been a spectacular catch but give credit to this Georgia defense they have come out they have played excellent football all night long sideline antics of Kirby smart he's got all the body movements going he just loves to play he loves the coach and loves the win and you can tell every single time he comes out what if I told you Jake Fromm was still in the game for Georgia so you expect some handoffs got it [Music] scripted Sameer white and if Nicholson closed down I could she had to prom off of this field fast enough yeah take a look at George's upcoming travel not much of it Expedia seems the dogs may be done with planes for the year next weekend Auburn two weeks from now home against Texas A&M then go all the way to Georgia Tech and if they make it to the end the SEC championship game the first weekend of December travel 72 miles to the mercedes-benz stadium in Atlanta and take it a step further if Georgia makes the playoff they could go to the semi could be at the chick-fil-a Peach Bowl in Atlanta meaning they wouldn't have to get on a plane until the championship game in New Orleans that's clean living right there there's the mira white they do something neat in the local newspaper here the Athens banner Herald I don't know how often they updated the fans Roy is curious hey where could we wind up Boeing how much would the airfare be if it's Phoenix or New Orleans how much the Peach Bowl ticket Fiesta Bowl ticket national championship ticket it's it's expensive if you're a fan of a really good team you know this guy will find the best chase young right okay yeah chase young story with a guy looking on sounds like a four-game suspension will be handed his way after missing today against Maryland but they will appeal and a herbie reported that it's quite possible that the the band will be reduced maybe even cut in half I don't know what the right number is yeah this week's college football playoff rankings brought to you by Allstate yeah interest 3 & 4 both go down and I think that both Clemson and Georgia will move up into those three and four spots I'll be interested to see how far a Bama falls you know I wouldn't be shocked if they're ahead of Oregon and Utah no don't be shocked if that that happens because you know the Oregon loss to Auburn you thought loss to SC I think Alabama's loss to LSU is a lot better than those two losses now hide his hide his Minnesota go up well certainly into the top ten they were 17th now to crack the top ten that impressive win at home today against Penn State automatically they're going to go ahead all the two loss teams so Florida and Auburn and Wisconsin who's sneaked one out against the Iowa today the question is will they jump on Oklahoma probably not give me a number on Alabama we wake up Wednesday morning with where is Alabama in the I think don't be six or seven I was gonna go five yeah and people are trying to figure out to make a case how they can still get into the college football play again the law the loss tell us who's not gonna hurt them as much as they haven't had the greatest schedule right right that that in the end that won't be all play the championship game is what might keep them out of the playoffs Dallben cooks kid brother Dalvin cook having an interesting season this season for every field goal and extra pillar made by participating universities all state will make a contribution to the university's general scholarship fund we thank you for that Austin [Music] some people have Dalvin cooking the MVP conversation the Vikings having a great year ahead of Christian McCaffrey I'm just saying he's in the conversation there are a lot a lot of players in the conversation that's why they call it a conversation so we hit the final minute wrapping up our conversation I still got three starting offense alignment in on pot [Applause] that'll take a George bounce that's kind of how the night is gone for Mizzou small down at the 22 yard line tonight after Wyoming at Boise State state super SportsCenter my close personal friends Kenny made into the manila postgame coverage of Alabama LSU and a dive into the James Harden Russell Westbrook partnership that Sports Center and the football here on ESPN I'm glad they opened up the the window there Fraga cuz it was getting you know a little foggy and steamy in there Union leaving a windshield wiper how the temperatures down on the field ton warm that wouldn't be the first time time was in the doghouse Oh sup lo what are you referring to twenty seconds left good throw on a catch parent banister on the receiving end gain an eighth and final 12 seconds of the game the nine meetings all-time between Georgia and Missouri this will be the third time the Tigers have been blanked one last hard hit to send Missouri packing Georgia was not at their best in the first half came out in the second half lost some key players to injury and in the end still pitch a shutout to the tune of 27 to nothing that's the final score between the hedges producer Josh Hoffman director Mike swath Todd McShane Molly McGrath Brian Griese and our entire crew I'm Steve Levy sending a Roy Philpott Kelly Stouffer Lauren Sicily Wyoming Boise State more football please
