[Music] [Music] hello everybody and welcome along to the Michelin countdown to green as we bring our Pappas Burak sure to an end down on the pit lane it's John handoff and Jeremy Shaw is the insert broadcast booth lovely to have you tip me out of we'll be down in the pit lift for us it's time to go racing a Canadian Tire Motorsport Park the cars are rolling out of pit lane under the two and a half miles of classic road racing circuit at ease Canadian Tire Motorsport bar for the Mobil 1 sports car Grand Prix the Canadian round of the aims of WeatherTech Sports Car Championship it was a radio and TV are together for the next three hours are also and it will be Ricky Taylor in the number 10 Cadillac that leads of the field ten corners on this serpentine pavement that wraps itself around the countryside of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park celebrating 50 years of Grand Prix running this August 1967 the big race here that everyone still talks about the cars are rolling at the far side of the circuit welcome to you here at the track on 90.7 FM and scanner frequency four five four also to our listeners around North America on XM 201 serious one four five and around the world on intercom the ins are up and MZ dot TV Adam first item of business do we have a clear pit lid we have a completely empty pit lane John the red light is on a pit out so anybody who comes in at this point would be stopped but there is nobody left keys to the race Jeremy Shaw this is a 160 minute race two hours forty sprinting with strategy that's what I've said there I got to get the balance right pushing without risk in traffic keep it clean in the bits any penalties are going to be very costly and tired and emotional what is the strategy for changing tires or not changing ties traffic is or always going to be an issue on a short circuit like this and it will come up within the first walk three laps or so for the guys at the front of the field yeah it won't be very long certainly before the faster prototype cars are lapping the back end of the GTD field with more than that perhaps but they will come up or through fast and from there on to the end of the race it'll be a traffic traffic traffic for the leading contenders and they've got to work their way through the government at times because being aggressive but passive aggressive if you like don't be over aggressive if you do that can the end up in you can end up in the fence very very quickly indeed on this super fast race Frank [Music] is the end of the first formation laughs coming past our broadcast center here the Marshalls with their flags out making sure that everyone knows where the flag points are and even if a wave from one or two of the drivers and thanks once again to our volunteer corner workers flag marshals our intervention teams as well as track services recovery and all of our volunteers for this weekend and every we games it's John Hancock Jeremy Shaw and out of around the circuit as well as around the world here for insert radio with the cars on their second and final warm-up lap this is too close to call in three of the four categories I think I've got a handle on VC but all be just the 38 car hop favorite there in terms of pace but it's got to get to the end of the two hours and 40 minutes but for the other three classes Jeremy Shaw threw a dart board at the end we had throw a dart at the end release quite frankly yeah absolutely right yeah I do think the Lexus had a glance of a daunting screen there they're looking super strong at the moment they made great strides with that RC F GT 3 car in recent weeks the cars been fast in Europe and they've made great progress here as well and they're both of those cast should be competitive this afternoon one of them was gonna start from the back that's Robert along he doesn't have nearly as much racing experience as his teammate Jack Hawk to it but Jack is fabulously fast and anxious to make up for a mistake yesterday in the practice session of course a lot of damage to that car and the 15 car so when he gets behind the wheel he's going to be charging and he wants to bring a home result for that for that team insert the motor racing series built for aliens because you need three heads of three pairs of eyes Unleashed to keep track of what's going on in that the different categories the Cadillac safety car this car as it is now safety type we see it again it's clearing off the lights are out the white cts-v heads into the pit lane as we wait now for Ricky Taylor and Misha goid Berg in the black number 10 Cadillac in the 85 or again the curb rounds the bright yellow car on the outside might get the better run to the first corner but only if we get out drag the big 6.2 liters which I don't think it will do no lap according to our friends at Mazda this is a quick circuit it's an unforgiving circuit and these early laps could be absolutely crucial in all of the three classes in gtlm the two BMWs have gone to the front first and second 25 and 24 from the 911 and 912 then the 2/4 then the 2 Corvette so it is Noah's Ark formation BMW Porsche Ford and Corvette for the first eight positions of that field and they are separated by nothing at all as they head round in team formation 25:24 nine eleven nine twelve sixty six sixty seven and three and four that's how they stand in gtlm sage Karam holds up the lead in gtps order from Andrew Davies in the Audi number 57 in second and Jeff Segal in the 86 accurate in third position no changer the front in GTD but the lot of first shuffling around in GTL n those who say the BMWs both making strides there's North the front a great effort by those to the to Ford's changing positions as well on that opening lap great start there by number 55 Johnson Tom wheeler to get ahead of your hands and over back in the mid sand so Ricky Taylor he's got an advantage of about one one just over a second at the moment that is is very very early on and the race will take a few laps yet to properly settle down yeah tell up the guys in the midfield they were scrapping and Duvall built muscle having to have a owl-like neck in the moment to see what's going on around everybody Ricky Taylor has opened up a 1.1 and second lead over Michigan burg the gloss-black Konica Minolta DP i VR racing team so if I call it the gloss black Cadillac you'll now understand why 85 trick in GT disorder moved up to fifth position on the start there in behind the Lamborghini a brain cell as the black and red number 48 is in fourth then Katherine's teammate Jeff Segal in the indy 16 third Andrew Davis 457 Stevenson Doughty in second and still leading that Lexus of sage Karam and the front of the field on the both oh it's not it's not a 90 car again is it Marc Goossens it is that Marc Goossens car with less than five minutes down and the bad look that has pleased the visit Florida number 90 the blue car with the pixelated side pods for the last couple of races he's dropping down the multimatic chassis has hit problems early on now the car is pulled over the drivers right coming out of moss corners he's going to go a lap down when Ricky Taylor comes around this time which is about now to go by him how he's got going the 90 has got going it is not under the mobile once I saw a slow-moving number 90 trying to make its way back around the circuit it's coming up GT disorder Lexus OD Acura um Lamborghini Acura Ferrari are your top six with Christina Nielsen championship leader in that sixty three along with Alessandro Paulson for Scuderi a courser 63 car has not won a race this season but leading the GT did tour the championship on consistency and through force of will it would seem some time and the goose has come to a halt again the 19 car enough thing almost the same part of the track Jeremy certainly on the noise further back down the circuit at turn three inside of turn three the headlights are flashing so he's got it going again he's going to have to bring that one into the pit lid I'm sure risk control will be seeing guys you got to get that car in and have a proper look at it no headlights on that car now once he's got it going he may have started on the pit lane speed limiter which is why they were flashing when he got away heads up towards Voss corner now awful awful starts to a risk in a season that has been not of what they were expecting or desiring the number 92 they tied the bar for the lead going over the skyline down to the tip at the bottom of turn number two and they are side by side for of orbits teichberg was challenging Ricky Taylor would have to drop in the light and already now among some traffic on lap 7 completed on lap eight right now and working their way through the talent of the field in TTD and that's a given going boom opportunity to close up and how much does this traffic affected them well last lap around was a one-minute 12.04 Ricky Taylor you've been lapping in the mid mid 94 that so two and a half seconds lost when he's negotiating that slower traffic but that's what we talk about the keys to the wrists Jeremy push without risk no point in damaging the car he hasn't got another on that last time around for the two leaders almost identical lap times one minute 9.80 back to their pace now though they're gonna have to win their pass with the gtlm cars have already got past all the GTD cars and still saved our relief comfortably they're over in second place Andrew Davis but the gtlm cars they're bit a little bit more tricky this is number 90 car stopped again at the exit of turn five or other disaster I just can't believe the amount of bad luck that seems had this season or look other than bad luck Jeremy explain it absolutely passively character builder see carrying the for the broader site and everybody knows where you pull throttle and if all of a sudden you're not the prototypes you don't have to brick to slow down on these cars the aerodynamic downforce laws them down very quickly when you lift up the accelerator pedal the throttle pedal it could catch people out so I expect to see that blue number 90 into the pit lane shortly we are 50 yeah he's here the pit mechanic who had stuff himself the right side of the car is now starting to get but he is not satisfied with work that has been going on this is this might be pay over for the 90 card no now they're claiming the windshield now that I said that they're taking their time they just want to finish I think at this point John truck temperature 103 degrees Fahrenheit 69 degrees Fahrenheit in the air Ricky Taylor they head over to the hill in turn two this is the battle for the lead bit of clear circuit ahead and as soon as this clear circuit the 6.2 liter v8 stretches its legs and uses its talk we should go quick having to try and keep the power on through the corners take a little bit more corner speed than the black Cadillac ahead of him yeah on that last lap Ricky Taylor slapped on a 115 car evenly is the good work is not letting team together with a great wife Aisha he's staying exactly where it needs to be in the early partners of this race 20 laps now completed those to pull the way now to row about six seconds over the third place car of Scott sharp and continues if his turn now to work his way through a bunch of traffic Jonathan Bomarito is right behind him as well so battles the first and second and third and fourth and this is thought about concentration here now at this stage in the gap of these guys they're a little bit more than halfway through their stint that are well over how quickly happen till most records worst in done now so you want to make sure though going first point of view we'll see as close as we can to the race leader when he comes in for his first pit stop and let's not forget Jeremy these all of these cars are starting the race on the tires with which they qualified on Saturday so they've got a bit of work in there before we're back the michelin's in gtlm which version of those slick tires that they're used in terms of where they thought the temperature would be right now it was a little bit colder than we've seen earlier in the week on Saturday but we have had some nice clear blue skies with that temperature over 100 degrees Fahrenheit on the track but it's clouded over a little bit now and what we will keep an eye on is how quickly that track cools down which might just mean that they have to make a change when they cook for their first pit stop surge current doing a grid job at the head of Zhi Jing dibs on it as the battles at the front of the field are now for third position with Scott sharp seeing very spelt and swooping dark red metallic number 55 that means it's the master of Jonathan Bomarito very different look to the front end of that racing car and just a few moments ago very close indeed there was a touch between the 93 of Katherine Legge coming out of turn number one [Music] the term of the left-hand side of this drifted back to take a line through turned the Mizzou Scott shot squeezing through the gap and create considerable nudge right front of the GT car facing yet accurate to left rear of Scott shafts broader type and that would have been dish I food for Scott there because a week ago a similar contact albeit on the other side of a GT car to Scott sharp out of the lead of the race at the seal and six hours of the Glen yeah good point your leaders by the way they've got clear traffic they're going to be enjoying this for the next lap or two or perhaps even three before they catch up with the next car and the Ricky Taylor is now laying down some queer laps he knows that the pit stops are coming up not too long away we've got how far most are where we are 20 master 4228 minutes and race but not ten minutes or so before we have the first pit stops 10 minutes being somewhere in the region of eight to nine laps nine laps really isn't it at 70 seconds a lap and the leaders laughing in under seventy seconds now they've cleared that traffic here we can have two or three laps here where it can really put the hammer down down into the nines both of both of our class up when I 109 87 - from Ricky Taylor that's within a couple of tenth to the in fastest lap of the race Michigan 109 nine on that last lap as well but every traffic turned ten with the cou two Corvettes trying to find a way past the number 28 Allegra Motorsports GTD for sure serious 145 XF 201 that has been the Wimbledon Channel all week put it to rest at the oil England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club at the Championships today so we've got the 201 channel on Sirius helot the lead triggers he's tuned in there thanks for your support as ever still those to me I'm w's in the head of the field book now do it Verna and Lawrence Vance who are working through traffic are beginning to claws on the two BMW m6 GT LMS at the head of the field was further but the other two pair of manufacturer GT cars the force of the Chevy they're together as well with in traffic coming onto the Andretti straight now and Joey hard the first of that quartet is trying to drag past the number 15 being the Lexus of Robert a lot it wasn't easy even for that very law very svelte prototype esque Ford GT to get by the Lexus these GT cars it quick in a straight line Jeremy yeah they certainly are quick in a straight line and the mixing is very very difficult for the quicker cars to get past all of a sudden Ricky Taylor is a bachelor eke out quite an advantage now is over three seconds in first to second as is beginning to encounter some traffic once again well we'll be starting to think about those quick stops now named head of the field no penalties in the pit you've got to be clean here with just two three pit stops for the classes that will be three for the head of the field possibly two for the GTT tour this just depends if you get a little bit of help I'm not sure if Stephen Simpson can hear me you'll be watching me ceviche koi Berg now one point six seconds behind the leader number ten Steven a very proud Springbok South African and tell them that England have won the first test at Lord's South Africa all out for 119 chasing a little over 300 more an ally six wickets on a fourth dear pitch that deteriorated rapidly saw England lose seven wickets 443 earlier this seconds as they came across a line to complete lap 26 and the Lexus lead is about two seconds now over Andrew Davis doing a super job there to hold on in that second position and the gap from him back to the third place car of Jeff Segal is about six and a half seconds old-style circuit 21st century endurance racing Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with the Mobil 1 sportscar Grand Prix it was racing and it's absolute zeniff here this weekend magic stuff in all of the classes and the Burnet just trying to put some pressure on the two BMWs of the leading Porsche at the moment I was closing in and it's dropped in the traffic back to a couple of seconds further away it feels just a second or so at the head of the field sage Karam Andrew Davis and Jeff Segal seven seconds between them or from Jeff Segal back to Katherine Legge which includes Brian sellers in the middle of the maps 86 Acura portly at Lamborghini and 93 Acura just two and a half seconds and then eight seconds back to and not as far around the circuit as I thought the timing stranger taking a moment to catch up that my apologies but it's now nine seconds the gap between Ricky Taylor the 10 car and me should go plug car teams you know still learning a little bit about that number 85 car it's not you know anything like that it can't compare to budgets let's put it this way are those two teams not even close but be trying to get her drive time in as quickly as possible that promotes the 73 Porsche the park place car that's the dark grey and red stripe car apartment Lindsay up into third position ahead of Robert a lot who's yet to make his first it's top as well in the 15 like this in fourth position you fastest lap of the race by Michigan Burgin Conover so sixth gear through the sixth gear on the number 10 car a problem at the moment and some kind of gear issues meanwhile a new fastest lap of the race by Michigan bug in that car number 85 in second place we said you each trying to track down Ricky Taylor I'm women at 9.25 for us all seconds inside the existing track record and a magnificent effort by Michigan when we first qualifying lap yesterday was a 108 point five is was in the three pit stops is now 11 seconds behind this is all bet in the pit yeah it's young Magnussen and this has been a great run from three and four we talked about sprinting with strategy and these guys have got a huge amount of laps more and they've now dual save out those 58 minutes that they have done and the four car will come in next time around that means they can't do this with just one more stop Adam is watching the Chevrolet number three stop Antonio Garcia has one win after this race turkey is really really hoping to add to that today yeah Magnussen walks very calmly back to the pit wall lasat drop balls ugh and the head of the field goal this battle is absolutely spellbinding Michiko Berg has pulled away to about a second now is there tactics being played out here Jeremy the number the car directly behind the safety car so when we go back to green we're going to have what I don't like is the GTD car leader at the front of the pack and the race leader's right in the middle of all pitch of course you're right so you leave them out and hope that the risk doesn't go back the great yeah because he's if he come if he's not going to go into the oven the pits anywhere and if the daughter flippity if they're not opening the pit then he comes in he gets to have a drive-through so you leave a mountain absolutely you leave them out and hope the risk doesn't restart that's the we gotten very very dark indeed can't tell what's going on with the 911 but the driver's door has just opened I think Patrick pilet is getting out of the hole the number 10 hit this marks goes up on the air jack the crew immediately begins ripping the old piece off the tail section that they have on the car they're not doing any suspension work on the car John is able to tell me that as I look back down to the 911 the driver door is open Patrick fealy gets out that cars day is done they are pulling the engine cover area off trying to get the bodywork removed the panel from the deck now they've got the deck off now they can get to Chen's tail off put the new one on as the leader comes by that's one lap down or the number 10 of Jordan Taylor 85 goes by as well and the number two of Ryan Dalziel now he's down to fourth behind the Mazda and the gtlm field shirts come through they have the new tail section ready they are just lining it up and they're doing a new engine cover as well on this car it now shows the number seven on the side of it John as they secure the new tail feeds into place well we were told as a Glenn that at some point they were going to start thinking about this championship employee that's what we are seeing right now as the rain starts to fall heavier on the pit lane John could there be one more turn in this race the opponent will he detain cameras in his best lap of the race the third place car on DL to send his lip best lap of the race that was noisy Shabba poser in behind the 911 Porsche which I think was having a problem but he's got a car alongside of Jeremy you can't just pull aim like that the ferries down and aware and keep Stephen Simpson he's - he gave about this much room as he could absolutely [Music] right to yell use the three who put them another lap down they did not do any suspension work on that car so he is touring around for what will be seventh position I don't think he's going to lose two laps to the 52 car so he'll get seventh position points but that puts the championship lead it's not in Germany certainly once again it's going to close everything up it's all happening in the last five minutes isn't it just doing Cameron again for a third consecutive map his best lap of the race it's getting heavier rain gtlm Sims Edwards and West will Ford again on the podium and the expensive Porsche to BMWs 1/2 the pits are closed this is the last but one corner who's hit the wall they're going slowly and it's oh this will be a red flag 52 it's on its roof 52 it's on its roof and that cars hit hard twice the race is over covering the wings for Cadillac Stevens not you'll be singing while you're going to get around the next lap where is he on the racetrack well it's yes absolutely the race will count down to zero it will be double yellows and checker next time around and the 52 car a stellar is the driver he's talking on the radio that's the good news that I can bring you and once again the intervention teams they're very very quickly the door is open and it will be white flag yeah because the time has not counted down so just going through then Cameron has to keep it on the island in the wet weather but he's not under any pressure now because he's behind the Cadillac see if you can yeah and his all-christian of cars between them as well so 25 leader in gtlm went off watching the crash of the 52 cards even Estella who managed to park it beautifully on its roof behind the tire bundle so we couldn't see where it had gone just slid off on the way under the grass and onto the roof of the Li Jie once again the Bobcat is on the scene to put the tires right but the last lap board is out there but Estella is out of the car hands on hips not a scratch even on his helmet he's talking to the docs nasty-looking but absolutely amazing the integrity of these carbon fiber tub LMP cars that's the sheriff the local driver David Isola making his first start with this team in a full-blown prototype of children from before in PC and that success he won at Sebring for pr1 masses of motorsports he just lost it got onto the grass and at that point Jeremy by as he comes through out there in the nine it's at about a 45 degree angle and just flips the car onto its roof did that with the Jaguar xj6 4 litre sport wants exactly the same Park - perfectly facing the wrong direction put on its strong Corvette thought he was hooked that is the official word let's start with GT disorder Jeremy a double for John Stevenson's team he's not here this weekend they took their mid victory in GT for yesterday they'll take GTD for the Audi here being BMW their mid victory for Audi as well this weekend's Alexander sims for BMW the 25 car and at the front of the field the Cadillac streak continues at the Mobile World Sports Car Grand Prix with the 31 wheel and engineering car meaning all three of the Cadillacs of now teeing in a victory this year in the Enzo WeatherTech sportscar championship Stephen Simpson another second place for GC Miller Motorsport ahead of a podium for the tequila Petronius empty Patricio all Ward continues the winning streak for the third year that looked in doubt and it's one two for BMW Alexander sins and John Edwards 25 for 24 Ford's on to the podium again after being really not their own pace but once again it's Richard Westbrook who penalties where two aboard him in the dying minutes that was two hours and 40 minutes of northern stop action the 57 coming across the line now it is a double for Matt Bell and Lawson dashing back they take their first victory for Audi this year the 57 gone and the delightful double for Stephenson having won in GT for the GS class yesterday in Continental toys I'm not I can think of another team that's done that let me know if you think otherwise at Michelin put a button PRT hashtag Michelin PRT at in this original for poor his tech and CT MP s or TR that's the hashtag the spirit of the risk out of down in a dump bit Lynn down here in the BMW celebration area I don't think the Overland breathed for the last little bit of that race and for somebody who's got that logo tattooed on his heart it's got to mean even more to have not only two wins back back dude but now one two for BMW and you're right in this championship thing I told you we're coming we're clawing our way back every race now I mean so you come up coda a second Watkins Glen at first and now at first it's amazing never count team rll and this BMW out this m6 has found some new life in it and it is performing amazing and what does it mean to get these two wins back-to-back knowing that your next one is BMWs home race Lime Rock yeah well hey whatever you get these winds are so difficult I mean imagine the driver line up in all these cars it's the best in the entire world I'm honored to be a part of it with them and then anytime you can get a win and get a leg up on any one of these guys are so awesome it's a great day whoo that's the thing the checkered flag is in the hand of did Cameron in the pitlane he'll never be more pleased to see a bit later at the end of the wrist extraordinary end to the risk see if we can grab some of
