[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the city of Atlanta is primed for one of the great rivalries of college basketball and it happens on the sweet 16 stage Deanna and Kentucky meeting for the second time this season and on this occasion for the right to go to the Elite Eight to battle with Baylor on Sunday afternoon here in the Georgia Dome hello friends Jim Nantz along with Clark Kellogg first off it's been a nervous night for you your son Nick in the Ohio Bobcats took North Carolina to overtime closing seconds there you be hanging in there partner I am it's been a valiant effort by the bad girls but he gets out giving it so much short to it if he did it but still very talented Carroll energy the effort I saw on the time and I can watch as you continue to multitask let's go back a little bit now the december kentucky number one and indiana with Watford [Music] that second half but this was a catapulting win I think with this program continue to me former Indiana basketball is back and let's go over to Tracy Wolfson Tracy thanks so much Jim I'm here with Kentucky head coach John Calipari and John you have downplayed the revenge factor of this game all week but what did you stress to your team about this rematch well Indiana knows they can beat us they already have or have to play 40 minutes a terrific basketball let's make it hard for them let's have a ball playing basketball we're prepared to play the game they're gonna play some zone early they'll do some things I think we're ready good luck thank the large all right Thank You Tracy and how Anthony Davis how do you deal with him and that's dangerous because all the Kentucky players can get it there and he for guys like Marcus T so he puts all right North care North Carolina's gon final advancing we've got Indiana Kentucky coming up on CBS coverage of the NCAA men's basketball tournament is sponsored by infinity dish [Music] Greg Gumbel in New York with a tournament update it is all over in st. Louis they went to overtime tied at 63 Ohio went Oh for six in overtime from the floor threw the ball away North Carolina moves on 73-65 Jim the whole studio cheering for the Kellogg family yeah no question about it it's been quite a night here just sitting alongside the great man here you're doing okay yeah I'm holding up I thought the exhibit was exemplary what I was able to see open a terrific fight by Ohio and I'm really proud of my son in that team yeah you should be and that's shot right at the end of regulation from midcourt very nearly went into the wind pulse starting junior will a Depot she/he watford and seller the incredible freshmen for the Hoosiers and eras Kentucky at 34 to with T glam kidd-gilchrist Jones and Anthony Davis already named on several fronts the National Player of the Year settle in for Indiana Kentucky and eternal in the NCAA on the first such occasion since back in the 80s [Applause] people missing a shot of it to give us with tea and the paint picking up an account [Applause] Jacquizz rain that sounds created by the penetration and quick thrust with Marcus T has really been outstanding over the last month and a half Jim running the [Music] Prem's team sees anthony davis pick up a foul on the Kentucky side cream just rebuilding the program really from the ashes from sanctions and big man driving though the centerpiece is starting to move forward in a big way Cody Zeller and one of the things to look for Jim is his ability to do just that take Davis away from the basket and dragging or be able to knock down the mid-range jump shot [Applause] now Jones by the way he had two points in that game at Indiana penny already has he's put up I actually have four points in a rebound that's it that was put up five now in this one there's one of those bad days for Terrence generals but you can tell he's come out ready to be engaged and effective from the scarf and a foul call on TV of Indiana push it off the screen bought a moving moving screen and that's five to Kentucky such tremendous balance for this Kentucky team guys averaged double digits most all of them can make plays off the dribble got a really B sound defensively and then on the glass good box out there in holes dangerous in transition if you don't tag [Applause] I like that quick attack Jim one of the best ways to negate an outstanding have a fort defensive team is to beat them down the floor Davis will get him show the outside shot which is no surprise anyone has been watching Kentucky to sees in the form of a speed guard [Applause] his way for the basket I like this early on [Applause] has taken the role right Anthony Davis off the dribble here's Anthony Davis working at the other is just a little deity called it comes in on the trip of the China destruct the post player Jones lost it on the way up and just tapped it toured around Indiana comes out [Applause] for the first time at nine to seven the best three-point shooters we have in the country Jordi halls percent from distance I am inside of the past from Davis eyes the game at 9:00 [Applause] this time with chain racing up the floor Oh mister and Jones had the rebound for Kentucky here you can see early on - both of these teams very comfortable playing a full-throttle up-tempo game both excellent scoring teams Indiana does it a little more week to three but they'll hit you in transition and both teams get to the free-throw line a good number of times about 24 attempts per game for Indiana right about 23 free-throw attempts on average per game from Kentucky that foul was on hauls his burst waise expected to see that pretty much the distance [Applause] [Music] it's almost like he was saying where are they he just went ahead took it in and jammed it that's a major breakdown there you can't leave the ball I don't care what your defensive game plan or scheme is you got to stay on the orange putting minutes here your impressions it's a big time atmosphere though to big-league teams story programs annalee take birth dead state the revenge factors though even though players downplay to gently the Kentucky Wildcats it's all about a collegiate you get beat by a team it's your first regular season loss your only decision loss and you get a chance to play them again you want to get them back Davis blocks the Watford shot Kentucky's up in Zeller on the day to watch her walk out the halls it snaps at Cheney and is a painting outside Walker to the shot that beat Kentucky in December can at 7:00 all the glass cutting afternoon Rosella much like shooting the three off the offensive rebounders a tough defend ting the same Davis again getting a piece of it on the floor it's into the arms it's a hockey got numbers got land he is fouled as he launches it toward the basket [Applause] is called on hauls an apple be his second we reach our first break [Applause] [Music] the big six conferences and their report card the Big East has to into the Elite Eight the rest of those teams that you see doubled up have teams to in action tonight Ohio State ended the end on this floor [Music] oh yeah a Kentuckian slaughtered both in action right now as well as Kansas and North Carolina State so here we are 16:11 and the Wildcats lead it and very intent start to distinguish five minutes into seconds in the second foul on Geordi holes a concern for Indiana remy abell comes in to replace and the freshman is been getting it's more and more playing time as the seasons going on he'll have to step up big here in this first half it's very good too good quickness and a capable defender on a floor jump all belongs to Kentucky coming up AT&T at the half Gregg couple Greg Anthony Kenny Smith Charles Park little taking off for a live look at NC State and Kansas on TBS and the latest NCAA tournament news and a Naismith watch presented by AT&T all coming up on AT&T at the half [Applause] Kentucky it in battle again get get crush driving in let's shoot the jump shots you don't want to escort into the way easier said than done but we're defensive angle that time I think by she he [Applause] he is excellent at getting to the rink gene he got a hand on at the forest Kentucky's first turnover Rockford into the paint she heat bounce pass Paul is valid and Calipari can't believe it [Applause] - on him by the way Mark Harmon stars in a new NCIS June America's number one network CBS oh that's a big headliner here Davis with two pulls on the Indiana bench with two well you know Davis had four fouls in that first meeting and since then Jim he's not had more than three in a game that's going all the way back to December so how he goes Darius Miller Kentuckian in his senior year will he's seeing a lot of minutes no doubt again tonight coming off of 35 minutes when the win against Iowa State - made but with Davis on the bench it certainly affects what Kentucky is defensively but offensively it takes away ones of the weapons that they like to use throwing the ball above the room for a minute he gun able to get the finish kentucky becomes a tad more explosive because miller can shoot the three and he can go off the drip drip and he's also a creative for other people he's really able now who's out there in plays some holes and that's a foul call on Oladipo the illegal screen Jim yeah easy call he wasn't stationary and he made too much contact with the defendant [Applause] [Music] another away from the ball situation they got gonna get on the depo might have been Zeller [Applause] it is on summer and that's his persona we've already had three fouls called away from the ball handler 16 pounds on Indiana gym kidd-gilchrist just such a great job there's a second foul on zealot Bob - two seconds apart [Applause] that is a huge huge thing this this game at the 1323 mark just when I thought they had the advantage with Davis down two thousand four seconds off the clock like to see that played to be slayed on though there was contact there but no real get advantage disadvantage it moves fairly well laterally incidental contact again that is a 16-valve a bold pass pritchards on the floor for seller number 25 and here's 25 of Kentucky drawing another one on Oladipo nope hold on a minute that's unable [Applause] watch every 2012 March Madness game live on your computer your iPad your iPhone or select Android phones with NCAA March Madness Live visit ncaa.com slash March Madness for more information tip will shoot two well keep an eye on this gym we're at 13 11 Kentucky and the bonus already he gets to two free-throws he was in the act of shooting but every comma here on out Kentucky shoots free throws and the Wildcats a pretty good free-throw shooting team 72% there's Matt Roth the I dubbed him the allen wrench because he's got one specific purpose the audience that's knocking down triples have you ever used an Allen wrench by the way music for it's anything but one purpose been a while you can use for the wall time task specific ponies in like Ross took Abel nice looking young player here Rainey Abel a table there to defend it as Indiana comes out of a wrenching moment and Zeller picked up two thousand four seconds I think what you brought with your toolkit here tonight yeah you don't miss a trick I don't a Miller [Applause] [Music] Derek Elston also on the floor for Indiana right now another 32 yet you're recording in for Kentucky a few moments back here he is he can shoot at freshman from talk Walter and a game earlier this year we went for 24 Jim he's got a nice stroke and as he gets stronger and more confident he's got a really good match no for Oladipo on the run to the rim a lot Depot took him right to the basket to get to back kentucky's up 21 19 look at that differential points in the paint started with three Drive by Cody Zeller who was now on the bench with two five he will try to make Kentucky settle for jump shot wow he's really do a good job though of attacking the paint off the dribble water tap my Miller who follows up his own miss [Applause] the trick gives it up a lot depo and wants to drive it again doesn't drop but draws a foul on Kentucky [Applause] on wealth jerk Kentucky hasn't 23-19 Jim Nantz Clark Kellogg and Tracy Wolfson here in Atlanta what do you see here early Clark excellent basketball both ways Jim I tell you both of these teams are really good offensively now it's a matter of how they handle the fact they've got key guys out we take a look at the Wildcats lost in transition here Hall's pushes to the head the nice thrust we aro will see Michael kidd-gilchrist let's went fine but that's all created by the quick thrust spacing the floor by running away Kentucky's inability to tag guys running in transition Oladipo at the line Wiltshire hen tell them as we went to the break two shots Indiana in the tournament for the first time since 2008 but in the sweet 16 in this spot for the first time since 2002 it was ten years ago this week in this spot they defeated the number one ranked Duke Blue Devils on their way to making it here to Atlanta to this berry building all the way to the national championship games with Maryland be them for the title this back Prichard up and took his time and finished even though Kentucky doesn't have much of the bench the versatility of it six is like having nine guys [Applause] [Music] [Applause] but can they stay tight with Center off the floor here Rockford hit the floor after the shot no call up to Jackie no and he is fouled on the way up it's a good play above the rim by both James and Oladipo by Kentucky coming at you and make Terrence Gerald Jones earned it from the line that's a good effort by Oladipo but it's his second foul it is and they're already over the limit I mentioned it a while back so here's the question as Jones goes to the line look at 10:42 to go in the first half the best player on each team down with two fouls Davis fielded Kentucky Wildcats Zeller for the Indiana Hoosiers plus they got poles who's down with two fouls really see any of them again in the first half I don't think so as long as the game is manageable and I'm saying within a six to ten point window and if Indiana's doing the things it needs to do getting good shots they've got to rely on the guys that are that are available without the foul trouble so where you miss a guy like verbal Jones to third oh yeah lost this boss the rest of his season tearing his ACL on the Big Ten Tournament the la Depot is also taken out the 2000 she he returns to the pool holes is gonna check in by the way close it to becoming back in this Miller's up back is paddled the basket counts [Music] [Applause] for no reason for water to commit that foul you gotta use discretion and let it go [Applause] Rochard had no chance to really make a play here and you could tell he backed off at the last minute he was trying not to foul but he got himself in position by running up on Darius Miller there and joining halls has returned to the game after that turnover by maple till Tom Crean feeling like he needed to get his starting point back point guard back out there that trying to settle things down a bit here before it gets out of hand Kentucky with the last six [Applause] whose holes bouncing it down low she he has to come back out with it and it's off Indiana it's off Prichard now hold on it's going the other way it's off Kentucky Jim you can see Kentucky really trying to put the hammer down here now they're picking it up defensively where Indiana has to use its cut space the floor would be strong with the shot there Watford able to hit it though his first points of the night got to get back in transition [Applause] you can't give a high octane team open court opportunities at the gold [Applause] tea Kentucky's nine [Music] Terrence Jones as talented as in the country rather and this year showing you his full package the header using his dome right there enough times it's gonna hurt so Davis still sitting down as is Zeller I'm gonna stay [Music] summer is coming so they're gonna go ahead bring Zeller back on the floor well it's more desperate for Indiana right now than it is for Kentucky general but just by the score but by the way things are going Indiana continuities instability with halls out for the time he was out and then Zeller as well so I like this move quite honestly I mean you've got to go for what you know that now the top screen you got a trusted Zeller can be aggressive and smart and play as much time as he'll be on the floor to last 9:45 without picking up that third foul Lloyd Vargas who has not been seeing a lot of playing time lately but he's out there and he picks up a foul only the fourth team foul on Kentucky martha's number 30 Kentucky is defensively this team does not [Applause] this one's on lamb his first this year enjoy more Madness with Coke Zero text camp to 2653 for a chance to attend an ultimate basketball camp with three of your friends so here is Zeller at the line 42 611 freshman and younger brother of Tyler Zeller who's on to the Elite Eight tonight with his North Carolina Tar Heels overtime victory over Ohio Indiana's top scorer and rebounder hits both free throws but already paying dividends by getting him back on the forum you saw what he did Jim drove right at his defender and drew the foul [Applause] tough matchup here from Matt Ross giving up an awful lot of sound we'll just short with the shot look at Vargas this fires it up toward the basket wildly and Indiana comes out with his sheet he took it off now schools going after Miller shuts down the lane [Applause] like zero Zeller turned his face it's not a bad look at the jump hook but I think he's got an advantage of he turns and faces his defenders so he can drive them Indiana it's the least bad holes when they were away hehe and timeout Kentucky named coach Calipari is looking at his point guard Marcus Teague in saying what's going on out here [Music] two of the winningest programs in NCAA history here in Atlantic was UCLA with the 11 titles Kentucky with seven championships Anna was five in 87 North Carolina with five in a couple of titles turned down in the Big Easy basketball royalty right there [Applause] [Music] nice little mini surge here by Indiana Jim the reinsertion of holes in Xela coinciding with this river run so Tom Crean give him credit recognizing that things were starting to slip away and got his two starters back on the floor even the land the two sole have a jumper yes and it's down to three as Davis they committed to keeping him out the whole first half the rest of the way [Applause] be interesting to see if this game continues to be fairly tight will Tom Crean elect to try to get Cody Zeller back off the pool yeah we'll really risk picking up that third here in the first half well you've got immediate turn up coming up here shortly and there's that a backing out the gems right there miss fatal shot to pull away the head smashes up the base wine [Applause] and a turnover committed by Indiana [Music] brings us to the other eight sign out [Music] coverage of the NCAA men's basketball tournament is sponsored by coca-cola zero [Music] new enterprise plus john deere [Applause] back here in Atlanta there's coach Scott Drew the Baylor Bears and they are watching this one trying to scout the next opponent in the regional final will be here on Sunday after 75 to 73 tonight against Xavier an explosive start 22 to 4 at the beginning of this women Quincy Acy putting on a show to lead the way for the Bears in their victory yep he sure did and the Baylor Bears able to keep Xavier at bay most of that 40-minute period Jim Baylor got out to that big lead and never really seriously threatening in that game earlier tonight Zeller is come back to the bench Richard takes his place in the lineup 25 solid minutes Rosella gay got out there and got him back in the game they were down nine that's right Hammond Jordy holds both guns you see both Castro's Jordan still out there as he's still on the play with the two Gilchrist and that's going back to Indiana pelvis Hoosiers to inbound here [Applause] got a signal that that way it is Kentucky's ball he's sitting on the wrong into the floor love that young man Cody zellers demeanor much like Tyler even-keeled gathers display the game play hard fundamentally sound never see him flustered just really really enjoy watching between the lines there's land you can't leave him open he is such a great shooter [Applause] a little in town to keep the confidence stoked it was an errand shop but it wasn't a bad shot in terms of quality quit kidding transition for a pretty good shooter smaller GE gave that ball up too early [Applause] Darius Miller ball donkey you got to see both man and and be below the line the ball that's an Miller got way up to a two-point shot gilchrist no one there um defensively over the Rockford is able to end up in over kidd-gilchrist of that end of the floor that's where you missed the presence of Anthony Davis man picture Dan mid Gilchrist [Applause] much puts be for Tom Prichard who's been that stuck with you [Applause] with a chance to add to it at the line Teague on the bow on the smaller Teague about six inches difference unless he got him with the body I didn't see much contact there Jim certainly not up top here is Watford at the line he has made he hate to do this we had the one-on-one in the first 33 straight you got to give it [Applause] you're gonna have the whole Hoosier nation now on the octave I got the Kellogg nation on me something off the top numbers if they can push it foul on Kentucky in the backcourt [Music] this team is get again with such balance the Kentucky Wildcats and multiple weapons they get a pretty high percentage of the system it's one-on-one now Derek Elston we will have the chance to trim it to one last repossessions Gemma I get the sense Kentucky is just in a bit of a hurry here get back to halls this could tie at Auckland and a three-pointer please gonna come back out [Applause] five minutes to play in the first half Indiana's come back from down good built this tough angle and there's a foul on Elston 4 he's just relentless Jim that's to be relentless almost hand the rebound for a moment kidd-gilchrist took it away from him Elston picks up his first so again to the rest of the half when Kentucky goes to the line double bonus [Applause] he had a strong game against Indiana back December 10th Evy 18 points 9 rebounds the first-team all-sec player has one more to go he's only had 16 points and 10 rebounds total in his last three ball game the only two points against Iowa State last Saturday night pranam both electric [Applause] 39:37 Kentucky terrific job by holes to set up tea curls he meant to the lane because tea was chasing him coming off that screen and they'd had the little short jumper in the run they'd give us getting out the chocks and that's that's my designer Jim they don't want him to drive so they're baiting him into settling for that perimeter shot he's not become proficient it again holes the floor general setting it all up [Applause] 19 to 8 stretch [Music] Anthony Davis has been sitting since the 1405 mark so now over ten minutes sitting out with two fouls [Music] and you just saw the point differential [Music] Anthony Davis back on the floor and maybe Don Calipari has just resigned himself to the fact that I can't afford to have him with three going into the second half I'm trusting my team until we get to the second half t-shirt with a shot rebound bounces over Nelson Jimmy jr. Kentucky settling for too many quick perimeter shots here in this Ridge where Indiana started to seize control of things gets the bounce in Kentucky has its biggest deficit of the tournament in three games without for the court of get Gilchrist it going 200 miles an hour for no reason you see John Harbaugh on the Ravens coach right there and there's Jim Harbaugh to the left of your screen Greg Gumbel in New York for the term an update for you over on TBS in st. Louis North Carolina State got off to the quick start against Kansas Richard Howell offensive rebound there 12 minutes to play in the first half NC State leads Kansas 17 to 11 Marvin Steve back to you [Music] right North Carolina in that regional final to take on the winner of NC State and Kansas and a ball belongs to the Hoosiers with 323 to go in the half full-court pressure here man-to-man in trying to trap got to get it to the middle of the floor and then attack [Applause] pressure Kentuckians to slow down on offensive ly jump and they've been much too quick in their shout attempts the last couple of minutes and after starving seven of ten they've gone 8 of 24 cents and also seven points down to go the scoring since Davis went to the fist tough pass in there by picked about a foul called on kidd-gilchrist now this time we showed you the Harbaugh brothers going to the break Tom Crean is their brother-in-law and you see Joanie right here is Tom Green's wife Joanie Harbaugh cream manor two brothers AFC and NFC title games this year with the Ravens and the 49ers cheese at that free-throw line you want to try to catch him and take advantage of every opportunity with Anthony Davis on the bench are you see in the end only five of nine strike then that was the front end of the warning on now the senior call things down for a moment for Kentucky [Applause] Tom Prichard is primarily a screener he can catch and finish at the rim doesn't have the versatility the cold easily to take his guy the presence of tea got him off balance and inside of two minutes to go Davis is going to ride it out to a halftime with the mm clears T gets free [Applause] to tie the game at 33 [Applause] stop pitcher pitcher it's a handle on again a stand on the corner Kentucky in a sprint this guilt gross sit in for the lead while they just keep coming at you even though they were out of kilter and kidd-gilchrist Jim [Music] last six points to the Wildcats [Applause] what forgets through I rejected it but they say you got a piece of the hand [Applause] we're doing a good job taking this ball to the hole well I thought he got on ball but it was body second foul on Jones yeah maybe lower body the tendons a heck of a play good Terence Jones Wow all right so we're gonna send Watford back to the line and after the 33 consecutive he's missed the last two [Applause] [Music] the person ouncers curves dirty holes I was able to do a nice job with the two fouls they played in sure did Tom just Tom Crean just got the kid in for coming on the floor and credit Jodi holes for getting things done picking up their third foul the gamble that paid off [Applause] Anna Hoosiers those points allowed in the first half this season by Kentucky this pace it's been wild from the start 45 all last minute first half kidd-gilchrist [Applause] kids is the big-time winner and he just continues to go at people all the time pritchards doesn't movement speed and by the time he does he's got his body into him to commit the foul first foul on pitcher Miss Kentucky the three-point lead 49 seconds to go and a half and Elston in for Pritchard [Applause] Anthony Davis John Calipari has been able to a wildcat [Music] slipping away nicer too close to have perhaps outside the call is against Miller of Kentucky now I make that on kidd-gilchrist give him two man again double bonus so two coming fall Wofford's been terrific this half Jim really attacking the basket he's made some tough shots [Applause] Jones for Kentucky should be last shot time for Kentucky here's kidd-gilchrist going to sit down with the two fouls [Applause] four straight makes plugins when starting on the street after you gave him the a mounted rehearsal rehearsal where the rehearsal see if Kentucky runs it down yes sure not too crazy Tom cranes over there in the defensive stance almost [Applause] than that way coach it's all him right now to push off their land with its and blows off the rim in a foul call on Indiana [Applause] well I thought lamb may have gotten away with the push-off there at the top of the key areas second foul on Pritchard just a reminder Kansas and North Carolina State playing over on TBS and check out the action there as lamb chew at the line Tawes reinsert it for the final seven seconds he chess moved by cream hit the floor general back out there the lamb he's a big part of the Kentucky Final Four team of the year ago will shoot one more a team that took Kentucky to the promised land for the first time in 13 years from 98 until 2011 final seven seconds [Applause] whoa [Applause] Atlanta with Kentucky leading it 52-47 and the cats close it out 11 to 4 to come back from spore down three point lead at the intermission and a well-rested Anthony Davis set to return for the second half let's go over to Tracy Wolfson thanks a lot Jim coach foul trouble an issue in that first half can you talk about your decision to keep Anthony Davis on the bench for the rest of the head important for us and we played without him this year our issue became defensively you know they ran us into some pick and rolls we weren't connected to the ball handler so they get a free run but Indiana is a good team this is a good game what will be the key for the second half for you guys that we guard somebody I think they're shooting about 97 percent right now so not giving them layups we're falling asleep hopefully we'll get a little better rotation because we'll have a full team thanks a lot Tim all right trace not quite 97 percent but it is 58 percent both teams and allowing a season-high first half total will go to the New York studio and we continue on CBS and the road to the Final Four coverage of the NCAA men's basketball tournament is sponsored by the US Postal Service autotrader.com [Music] Buick [Music] and by bug light [Music] the Indiana will be inbounding here to start the second half let's go over to Tracy coach how important was it for you to get Deller and hauls back in there even with two fouls well it was important for us because we got more confidence from it and then we were able to get them out especially Cody and we played time and score as much as we could and our guys did a great job of Christian Watford was phenomenal thank you so much yeah Watford Thank You Tracy 15 points in the final 555 of that first half terrific just absolutely brilliant play by Walker and that were squeezes in there with Davis defending and it's the basket underneath this is he the 49 Jim just the way he started the game took it right Anthony Davis and it's a good strategy he's got two fouls go right at it Miska third well that's point of attacking fence you got to contain the ball better than that so he doesn't get right to the rim [Applause] holes with a jump shot short Sheehy though and right to the spot anticipated watch out the holes much bigger man on his join us in that blast by Davis it'll go back to Indiana well the Davis you know he set down the last 14 minutes but it was over if you went in real time it was over an hour since he was last on I was just gonna make that point you know sometimes you're getting into foul trouble Jim and it disrupts the rhythm of your bold consistency of impact it is and then Stephanie outlet overhead the teacher took it the rest of the way [Applause] good matchup here kidd-gilchrist against all the depot Zeller no challenge again this again is just a shot long so we'll go to the line second one on she he masters livestreams exclusive video abatement corner 15 at 16 and featured group go to cbssports.com / masters at masters calm yes that tradition unlike any other the Masters on CBS is fast approaching [Applause] well he is so good in the open court gym because he can go both ways and he really attacks that back peddling defender and he gets it in transition I've always felt if you're a good ball handler and finisher and you get him in the open court he should get to the room because defenders a back peddling and in a bad situation and he makes you pay if he catches you in transition and a foul is called on Terrence Jones his skirt so he becomes the first to reach that number of fowls and he'll sit down right away yet Darius Miller he bounces off the bench and takes his place [Applause] Indiana get some additional offense and some other people Rockford was a gap primarily throughout that first half Victor on the depot's dangers when he's got an open lane he was driving at scoring Victor are Depot he's got nine on the game even-steven points in the paint everything about this was practice and evens him and he looks at the stats for the first half backwards when they shot it to answer it back we offered no Oh tell she he helped influence that may have gotten a hand on it told wingman home much needed as Kentucky enough to lead to eight that could have been double-digit say they converted at the other end so good in transition there one of the ways you try to negate any disadvantage you have inside is getting scores in the open court [Applause] althought there should have been a call on that opener when I'm laid out by to open or trip draws the whistle this time on Watford Watford his second it's country music's party of the year the Academy of Country Music Awards fly that's next Sunday April 1st only CBS [Applause] you're on the first it wasn't after long what it was it was the Mary sits down yeah [Applause] oh you get experience and gentlemen's only a sophomore but he's as experienced as anybody on this Kentucky squad over the devil sometimes as a coach you just expect you guys to be able to play with files [Applause] and that's certainly the case here [Applause] Sawatdee poll again driving just the tiniest little opening and exposes it doesn't need much just a sliver or he's really improved when he adds a consistent three-point shot to his game which he can do over the summer watch out for Victor Oladipo they say he's a tireless worker and a student of the game threes here in the recent going as it should be I know people might talk about the defense or lack thereof but these young fellows are putting the ball in the back CS you don't see many games like this Oladipo Organa knows Kentucky brings it to this end and we can render the shot clock useless here tonight yeah Miller Miller has scored the last eight for Kentucky on the baseline I'm able to get it to Zeller for the save but why people get bounce pass down [Applause] one of these teams is gonna have to offer some resistance for two or three minute period at the defensive end and that's gonna turn that twos gonna come out on top or it could be last team with the ball seen that before haven't they kidd-gilchrist though by six [Applause] they lost the handle eight players in this game over they in double figures four on each side including Oladipo 6660 [Applause] boy what a game this is now the first two slots in the final four will be billed tomorrow full slate of college hoops beginning with the infinity tip-off on truTV you got the Division two championship on CBS and look at this Florida Louisville Ohio State Syracuse I'm sure minute you saw that interview earlier tonight out of the studio Greg grumbles great interview there with coach Billy Donovan coach Rick Pitino twenty-five years since those two teamed up with Providence to New Orleans to the final four coach Rick on the sidelines billy the kid' on the floor number 34 now they'll meet tomorrow for the right to go to New Orleans and you'll see it on CBS Billy the Kid was spraying threes and Rick Pitino the coach coach embrace the three-point shot as a way to win where boy did he ever it was right when the three-point shot came into play and he had it figured out ahead of anyone else they use it effectively a defendant traveled no basket six rookie cops in one gritty City NYC to to premiere Sunday April 15th only CBS Taylor which I'm Levi now called by kidd-gilchrist on the floor and have been a tie-up it would have gone to Kentucky but he took the time out 13:37 to go [Music] the edge of this app to the Wildcats a family of three is up to eight [Music] both teams shooting over 50% for the game Kentucky's Davis with two points but his cats are up by 8 with possession Jim Nantz with Clark Kellogg and Tracy Wolfson here at the South Regional Sweet sixteen at the Georgia Dome and that goes through the fingertips of the one lamb first turnover in the last 10 minutes of action for Kentucky that makes it 12 assists on four turnovers Christian Wofford comes back and replacing whoever left was Nelson Nelson sit down after just a brief snack back into the game of putting up to there's points of 1/2 to Watford after 17 in the first half Evos on the floor calls [Applause] Davis Justyna thinking he was going to draw the foul but nothing there all those first half out concerns for the big stars nothing more has been added to Twitter and the reason why it's not an ottoman we heard John Calipari tell Tracy Wolfson about why he elected to keep Anthony Davis on the bench in that first half he said we play take this before other guys to rise up and Michael kidd-gilchrist certainly did some tax on the gold he's got 15 points right now Jim and a handful of rebounds as well Kentucky 13 out of 14 at the line and has made its last 11 you trying to go two for two lamb said you man yeah now T gone good Gilchrist out well you look at this game Jim and you just see the explosiveness and the number of weapons that Kentucky has driving to the ball to the goal knocking down threes can in the end outscore this team and now good offensive team I don't know if they came somehow they've got to find a way to come up with stops she wanted to get it this summer people didn't get a clean handle till the shot was never ever going to be a confident one [Applause] showing you the bow skills that he possesses significant growth [Applause] what six-three six-four go planners they will even tell you six to just two years the power Venus will help as we touch it up Alex - right he's trying to draw cody zeller understand attacking a guy in foul trouble but you have to do it judiciously Miller collects his first [Applause] have spectacular [Applause] let's go back to our latest technology virtual madness well we're going to talk about the length of Anthony Davis but he's got a block this shot under the rim but he's got an eighth he probably got a nine and a half ten-foot wingspan and able to deny Cody Zeller there [Applause] this year enjoy more madness with Coke Zero text CA MP camp 226 53 for a chance to attend an ultimate basketball camp with three of your friends [Applause] so here's a look at Davis first game against Indiana only six points and four thousand in the early foul issues here six minutes in action first half been on the floor the whole second half hasn't scored in this half hit one jumper early in the game right two points he's got five rebounds two assists and two blocks and 14 minutes Jim [Applause] Pritchard able to get off the hop the depot not to be denied and the Harbaugh's are standing throughout what they're used to standing on the sidelines a coaching family of course Major Tom Green's father-in-law Joe Penhall legendary college football coach in his time and labeled again put up two more for the threat of the three-point shot forces you to close out on him and if you don't do it on balance he'll go right by you he's got 17 for Lottie Pro decided a fire for three Kentucky became photography entertain inside in the Chuck pause the arrow belongs to Kentucky [Applause] though Kentucky to embalm underneath largest lead it's had in this game is not that came in the first half it's just a couple of years ago really only offered a scholarship initially by one schools Cleveland State your hometown of Cleveland that's right my keys waters doing an outstanding job there then the growth spurt change everything get go Preston reach in on Indiana [Applause] nepo on this now his third fourth team foul on Indiana so still a couple away from the penalty he said he armed Oladipo again [Applause] for him drives to the basket really compromise your defense even if the shot is missed because is really difficult to get block out responsibilities handle defense has been compromised off the dribble penetration the third point of the night Oladipo has to go out yet he he comes in so does Zeller but also send back to the bench raw Kentucky on the verge of perhaps cracking this open Jim well that's the biggest lead of the night it's up to ten Deanna's tickets deficit although some juices attained they were down nine the previous biggest deficit second half against Virginia Commonwealth came back to be Shaka Smart steamed in a drawer we're down nine here earlier than the first one the first half is well Jim I remember 3122 yet did took a four-point lead for a brief while on that first half and the 11 pull a run by Kentucky to close the half [Applause] John Calipari says any coach in America to catch kidd-gilchrist and you see why this relentless and persistent third foul on Watford yes got a timeout coming from the Indiana ten point lead and a free throw all the way see real stories of human achievement featured on the Buick human highlight reel at ncaa.com slash Buick so kidd-gilchrist will go to the line the day that he announced that he was committing it's a Kentucky the man who really raised him his uncle Darren kid didn't show up at this the party that followed the announcement he bombed the st. Patrick's High School there with Kyrie Irving turns out it had suffered a fatal heart attack that very day then he committed the Kentucky when he showed up the school just last September he took on the name Michael Gilchrist to Michael kidd-gilchrist as a salute to the man who made such a difference in his life [Music] as a young man roll with this Indiana with this Kentucky team good play by Anthony Davis up top clearly all pumpkin so the Hoosiers now down 11 his 169th block of the season Kentucky single-season record Wofford too strong with the shot three blocks on a five days you're sensing a danger zone here for anything the ground is starting to crack [Applause] Vegas Indiana [Music] couple times but Kentucky relentless ended up getting and that tries to get the basket [Applause] see the dilemma that India has here gentlemen I made the point a little bit ago the best way they play is up tempo and high octane but Kentucky is excellent in that game as well and perhaps even better in it than Indiana ideally you would like to try to be able to slow Kentucky down some way with maybe a more deliberate style but that doesn't play into the hands of what Indiana does best second down number thirteen pound make quiet of of as you said getting some minutes here at tournament time I see this young man having a bright bright future with this Indiana club I mean you look at his body is explosive for the book of rebound Jones missed his IQ I mean he handles himself [Applause] Kentucky contingent wanted the charge call as Jones hit the deck the receiver handle guarantee and I know one thing Persis from Kentucky that guarantees watching this one right now we know that's for sure [Applause] [Music] that's a travel call go back to Luke back back to Indiana Phil's from Louisville now he follows of course Morehead State this school [Music] there's Zeller scoring at the other it'll go back to Indiana out of the break they're down nine [Music] Greg Gumbel in New York with a tournament update for you on TBS in st. Louis Kansas trail NC state by one at halftime but have had the better of it so far in the second half Jeff with the underneath for the bucket Kansas leads at 42 35 just under 16 minutes to play Jim and Clark alrighty thank you Greg and love just think about those two possibilities there in st. Louis on Sunday North Carolina North Carolina State they played in the ACC tournament a tight one yep for North Carolina Kansas and it's going to be a beauty either was right that's right meanwhile paper is all set here in the South regional final after its victory earlier tonight on this stage against Xavier will it be Baylor against Kentucky hold on they're gonna let spawn on the floor so you stop the action or Baylor Indiana Indiana will try to mount the charge here at 7:45 to go Indiana made a nice little comeback against VCU Shaka Smart steam and Rams had another standing Caesar this year saw glance there again at coach green strong National Coach of the Year candidate plus 15 wins this year which is like approaching record territory if you go through the big six conferences like the best since 1974 we have to mount a furious rally here now because Kentucky can put points on the board it's important for Kentucky to stay aggressive I mean till still far too much time I mean we're 7:40 so no reason to be thinking about anything other than playing it the way the Wildcats have played addresses in attacking in the end has to do the same thing Wofford making the move in the ball came out Kentucky forces the turnover and slides home [Applause] 20 points with a freshman from New Jersey you know what he does so well when he goes in transition gym he protects the ball it takes long strides but he's strong enough even if they hit it he's going cold pull-up jumper lamb inside saved by Davis on the floor yeah you can't take it away from him he's got it like that these craters into Texas his shot here he waited for Davis to go by him brings it to eight was 642 to play [Applause] either hurting a little bit on 40 just looking at him he's trying to catch his breath now to get lands free a little pearl good defense that time a book Jones about the check-in leaders at Kentucky bench [Applause] is the third on Cody Zeller Sunday travel the world on a new Amazing Race that's some that's coming up Sunday after 60 minutes here on America's most watched Network so there's that's third ones took a while big and he picked up his second way back on let me see 13:33 of the first half so yeah those two fouls in the first half come in four seconds apart [Applause] kidd-gilchrist who needed a breather for some oxygen and Oladipo for Abel who led the boat with the four fouls and deservedly so kidd-gilchrist that's long all the depot try to get to the finish line without picking up that fifth foul Fixodent on TIG and the foul outside on Teague only the fourth team foul on Kentucky I talked about it in the first half on this team Kentucky doesn't typically foul a lot so they've still got a couple to give in the end already over the limit it's just the second OT to get it up and over Davis down to seven repossession even for shoot the three they feel like it's a tight game in this situation [Applause] and Jones [Applause] we're on the shot clock by the way scusa over the water Davis is out of position at Watford in a meeting 277 Indiana has responded sixteen for Zephyr [Applause] that's going to be a foul there on Indiana Oladipo and that is it for all I default in CA dot-com the coverage of the Division one women's basketball tournament in C a.com slash Final Four so they lose one of their star players and a lot depos averages 11 points a game he had 15 tonight now on top of that he's an All Big Ten defender see that disappear well you see his fire clearly disappointed that he'll have to watch the rest of this and we're trying to inspire his teammates to fight and come all the way back they'll miss his ability to go off the dribble he is excellent getting to the rim in addition to what he brings defensively and just from an athleticism standpoint so mat law replaces all the depo not nearly the defendant but he is a terrific three-point shooter Kentucky sends its terrific shooter blam to the line for a while one [Applause] people that know the history of Kentucky Indiana will tell you that probably the game that stands out the most is the time they met back in 75 to the tournament in the regional final of the Mid East Kentucky upset number one of them defeated Indiana the next year of course the Hoosiers came back and won the national championship without losing a game could have been had enough in for Scott May and a broken arm and the adequate have conceivably had time to back the championships for those that were around their team seventy sixteen by the seventy-five Tina doctor Steve all pelvic Indiana team doctors on the event she was on that seventy-five game he's Kentucky by 24 in the regular season they kentucky then beat of 92 the navy in dayton the final of rockford is off on the three and davis chases it down back to kentucky leading by seven [Applause] looking for minutes is one of the areas where Kentucky has gotten better since the first meeting half-court executions [Applause] ran it right to the basket yep that's a tough matchup for all 17 from Miller ten in his hand when Miller commits the foul at the other end it will be just the 15 kidd-gilchrist Kentucky up 9 [Music] Kentucky 86 points on the board and we're possibly gonna the most that Indiana's ever allowed in an NCAA Tournament game 1958 Notre Dame [Music] fill up 94 Kentucky led by three at halftime second half lead has been as large as 13 Indiana cut the margin to as close as four on a couple of occasions but this hole will be hard to come out of if you're Indiana you got a knock down some threes try to pressure Kentucky into some mistakes but his Wildcats team with Miller and lamb and kidd-gilchrist being able to make plays off the dribble and at the realm sixteen found on the third on T well Indiana will try to drive them and see if they can get into the bonus and that gives you a chance to try to make a comeback if you can get free throws down spoil the ball with the clock stopped holes in there helping retain possession G he stepped back free-throw lunches no [Music] it stays with Indiana [Applause] and Terence Jones Teague will come out big difference in this one gym the free throw game for Kentucky plus 12 their Indiana normally takes 24 tells a game on the 13 so far they'll get two more here though lamb commits that foul that's his second but he's done at the other end he's so smooth Jim he's got a nice well-rounded game he's got the excellent stroke which gives him another added half-step of quickness because you have to come out and get into him and then he's got the bad skills and the speed and savvy to go around you and finish as well be able with more the freshman from Louisville Kentucky Teague was only out four seconds but able is the first Indiana Hoosier basketball players from the state of Kentucky the first native Kentuckian to play for Indiana since 1970 very well after playing in the Kentucky Indiana all-star series wearing a uniform while the manhandling Kentucky talking about tea out of Indianapolis was wearing the Indiana beautiful how about a bit of irony there yeah matched up against one another [Applause] not too apparent Cole's defending bathound lamb the way up well you put a smaller guy on him actually even a bigger guys gonna have a tough time keeping him off the glass he goes like he starved me every time to that offensive grouse third on Sheehy two shots coming up kidd-gilchrist at the line you know when we were watching the brackets come down we were in Indianapolis having covered the Big Ten tournament and then chairing the committee Jeff Hathaway came over we looked at the brackets and that didn't take long to spot the possible sweet 16 matchup Kentucky Indiana you know was the game after all that of Bloomington December the 10th right at the Rockford winner was free to win it at the buzzer and all the history the rich history between these two and I gotta tell you it hasn't disappointed as far as electricity not at all it's been a great environment here tremendous energy basketball on roller skates for change and starving boots he's dead ever threaten the shot clock Jones block two holes three attempts Paul's was trying to cut it to 6 lunation faithful starlets sensing that the game is on hand for Sunday if Watford will send teak to the line fourth on Watford and it's 10 team fouls to double bonus the rest of the way [Applause] course you never know what's going to happen you can't you can't always go down the line of the brackets you start trying to give a little perspective and frame want a Kentucky run to the championship good good yeah for a good big s pass you gotta finish this can't look past a favor it could be the time rivalry one to the time it could be a Louisville team waiting for him in the national semis and it could be of North Carolina team in the championship that would be Indiana that would be Louisville in North Carolina there are three biggest non-conference rivals in the regular season on the way to a title just perhaps well as the story tale tell her that you are those are things that you take a look at and you know what we might have it unfold perhaps it could happen just that way it gives you strong move by she he on the other end kidd-gilchrist to the foul line he's been excellent from the free-throw line as he missed one yet I don't think so well Kentucky overall is plus 14 from the line in an 11-point game Kentucky for the night is 26 out of 28 and kidd-gilchrist now is 9 for 9 I didn't think you'd miss one Jim I thought he was oh I don't want to do what you did you wouldn't do that what good come on no there you go my critique is this way to get me out of that Jam ninety-two 81 inside two minutes he's tied his career-high with your fist with 24 watford step back yes heaps Hoosier hopes alive down to 8 and they're gonna need some help from Kentucky the mistakes are missed free throws and the foul game is in play here for Indiana [Applause] she/he has fouled out so they'd lost pull the Depot now they lose another starter and we'll Sheehy the fine south more out of Stuart Florida teamate [Applause] with a Syracuse Ohio State actually coming up tomorrow deck of a matchup tomorrow Jim the speed of Syracuse was really on full display yesterday in a game at Wisconsin Badgers I thought Wisconsin played about as perfect an offensive game as you could ball movement spacing three-point shooting right there at the end and this could not quite make enough plays credit to Syracuse beyond waiters jardine performance CJ fair had a terrific game as well guys getting huge numbers from the Shawn Thomas as you take a look at Victor Oladipo this young man's got a bright future Jim I love the way he goes about his business we've worked on that perimeter shot with his ability to get to the rim and defend he could be a major major impact player we're talking about the whole consequence of that one [Applause] his whole sped it to him down low people tried to steal the inbounds pass try to sneak up from behind on Lam well you take a look at this Kentucky team how do you beat them how can you cheat with one scoop on a tape no glaring weaknesses forget about to use non-issue from this point on and just a reminder Kansas North Carolina State over on TBS right now [Applause] I'm sorry Joe Miller picks up his fourth you know they're gonna run into a - a team here on Sunday again I'm gonna to go here right margin is 10 we're gonna run into a Baylor team that was in a regional final two years ago and they're still groaning about a call at the end of that game against Duke go their way Duke went on the monday championship it was a post game sure was and that is a very good-looking team when you see him in person all without question I mean when you talk about talent and matching up athleticism Baylor is right on par with Kentucky at just about every position oh it should be I'm assuming that well still not over who can't write refrigerant official yet piston Watford from nearby Birmingham Alabama whirs by the Ernest is a police officer there the family making the truth drive over here to see him play and timeout call by Kentucky rocford with a 27-point season-high effort the free throws makes the margin eight all right Clark Kellogg strategy me up if that's such a phrase here well it is pretty simple Jim Indiana has the foul if they can't force an immediate turnover they've got a foul and then hope for some cooperation with misses it's not anymore there's no more strategy than that as Miller gets it into Lamb who skids to a stop right in front of the Indiana bench and will head down for more free throws [Music] [Applause] so that is now the 96 is the most Indiana in his proud tournament history that's most it's ever allowed in a single game okay this team they're playing can put points up in putts is now yeah could could in fact reach the hundred point mark Kentucky's hit at the last 10 free throws [Music] and Roth returns [Applause] coach green and his group of seniors like Matt Roth and Corey Barnett Daniel Moore Tom Prichard and Verdell Jones remember Kentucky's a team of unforgettables 20 years ago this was the first five is what they call them to Tom Green [Applause] being back from some very very lean times when Coach Crean had to come in inherit the program that was in shambles clean house stuff with nine freshmen and eight walk-ons his first season that won six games out of 31 Rockford missing and Davis rebounding then Kentucky heading 12 rebounds on the night for the Anthony Davis the Wildcat nation starting to since that and Sunday appointment is on the way you can savor there's I'm looking forward to that one Jim and how about this free-throw shooting by Kentucky I mean you're talking about 32 out of 34 remarkable I mean it's everybody this is right now there's got to be near record territory internet for that many attempts I will certainly think so many better I know that is ever want to put back for two more timeout call by Indiana [Applause] Kentucky reaches the hundred point in well there's Daniel more one of the reasons cream took that time out is to give one of the first five Lucy Prichard already he's a member of that original green class a nice gesture here Jim I'm ordering and he's also gonna try to get him in there to help make a steel yeah okay senior from Carmel Indiana just outside of Indianapolis more and also to commit the foul that's right yeah so they now return to the lamp Watford then Roth Ganem or actually early in his career prominent player right out of necessity program he sure was [Applause] [Applause] in Kentucky this remarkable tunnel I'm sure 35 of 37 no crap at all sighs to fight back in the free [Music] that's going to do it yeah they'll let it go now and Indiana season the turnaround season to put them back on the map is going to end in the sweet 16 much to be proud of they beat a1 they'd be the 2 and they get a 5 this season the losers are back Jim Hoosiers are back no question and a huge recruiting class coming in to a promising promising future but Kentucky is moving on [Applause] ratchet up the heat of the second half to go on to a 102 to 90 victory [Music] on to the Elite Eights so the South Regional final is a one against a three Kentucky and Baylor but out here for the right to go to New Orleans and we'll see it back here for the south final on Sunday afternoon here on CBS you can turn to TBS right now for Kansas and North Carolina State traceywilson five tickets bought fishman all crew Jim Nantz saying so long from Atlanta we'll send it to our studio in New York after these messages
