[Music] the sold out exact tech arena at stephen o'connell center more affectionately known as the odome and gainesville florida a key sec game especially for the florida gators welcome everybody brad nelson with clark kellogg and clark i say that because we know kentucky's going to be in the ncaa tournament not so sure about the gators well the gators have work to do brad there's no denying that they've got to handle their part of the equation by winning games and that guy there you see oscar sheboy player of the year candidate in the midst of 12 straight double doubles 24 of those on the year this big fella right there next to him that he's going to deal with colin castleton has been outstanding against conference with polemics battle of big men today kentucky comes in ranked seventh in the country the gators looking for their 20th win of the year they've already beaten auburn when they were number one can they beat kentucky number seven our officials byron jarrett todd austin pat adams has got the ball in hand for the tip to start the game and the tip goes to keonta johnson and i think a lot of you remember kiante a year ago he was the preseason choice as sec player of the year he suffered a medical emergency in the december 12th game against florida state that ended his gator basketball career since that time he's stayed with the team basically as a player coach and now he's in the starting lineup for the final game on senior day as he kisses the court a great player that we maybe will never know how great he could have been as he goes it embraces coach calipari as well a nice gesture by mike white and florida have him in the starting line no doubt about it brad i mean back on december 12th of 2020 he collapsed we still don't know exactly the diagnosis but he's made a nice recovery but has yet to be clear to get back out on the court but a terrific young man and a phenomenal college player and to your point what he could have been right as a player was pre-season sec player of the year going into that 20-21 season but man what a nice gesture emotional start and now the real restart if you will and it's florida and tyree appleby with ball in hand [Applause] hasselton out on top to feed inside fleming missed a layup and the rebound comes off to keon brooks high tide washington up off the window off the feed from wheeler that's one of the first things mike white talked to us about at the shoot around this morning transition defense and we can't afford live ball turnovers the extra feed washington to brooks and a quick start for the wildcats they are so lethal are the wildcats in transition you make live ball mistakes they're running it down your throat right away and we're gonna have a bump on wheeler first foul of the game for those of you who wanted to see the conclusion of the alabama lsu game go to cbssports.com andrew catalan and steve lapis have got it for you here early one turnover by florida kentucky turned it into points [Applause] you are in overtime [Applause] fleming on the outside is going to take the three and the ball tipped out to brooks bobby wheeler and brooks bring it for kentucky washington in the starting lineup for kentucky today came off the bench in their game against ole miss earlier this week sheboy underneath left hand a little too strong good look though nice penetration by wheeler who averages seven assists to gain this is where i think florida has to try to attack some before kentucky's defense gets set up pushed away by shibuya but he made that an awkward shot at the baseline wheeler is going to try the outside jumper and got it xavier wheeler for two he's been good from the perimeter shooting back right about 50 in his last two games fred that's the shot opposing teams want to give him is derusi back in the lineup after missing a couple of games because of injury gets the gators on the board wheeler and traffic got it out to brooks medium range jumper is a little too strong pulled off the back side by fleming good old pass castleton waits for the traffic to pass brad i think florida has to push the ball whenever they get an opportunity to and score early and they also got to make a bunch of threes they average about eight makes a game they've got to be at that number or better i think to have a chance to win here today they only have five against kentucky in the earlier matchup this year that was a route by the wildcats 78-57 back on february 12th [Applause] john calipari talked about his team needing to be emotionally even keeled 40 minutes of being machine-like is how he phrased it they've had times of that this year this is the fourth time i've seen kentucky in person in previous three they've been machine-like in stretches but not for 40 minutes exactly [Music] need inside trying to go over sheboy and it'll be a push of the foul on florida well they obviously are going to let them play here early you mentioned that castleton appeared to get bumped by shebway on a prior possession that time that's just a good no call contact both ways and castleton just overshot it you know when you're playing a physical opponent you've got to expect the physicality but then you still have to be able to soften up your shot right when you get into it in that time castleton didn't do that that foul was on you by the way [Applause] [Music] wheeler had it swatted out of there by castleton trying to save it on the sideline good hustle but still be a kentucky ball [Applause] well this kind of effort is what you're going to need if you're the gators and going to knock off one of the top teams in the country good work that time by mckissick b mack they call him [Applause] washington around a pick gets it back to chigwei nice dish by ty ty washington in the first basket by oscar shebay excellent work in the pick and roll that time i love the poise that ty ty plays with the lie right yes exactly belies him being a freshman he's got tremendous poise and feel out there castleton nice spin good looking shot came up short cheap way will clear it washington dishes back to wheeler brooks had it knocked away florida looking to push it jones in some traffic and let's see [Applause] ball out to florida 15 37 to go first half [Applause] [Music] kentucky with a four-point lead as we go to gumball back now to gainesville and rejoin brad nessler and clark keller hi greg thanks 8-4 here early kentucky got out to a 4-0 start let's go gators trying to win their 20th game of the season and add to their resume jerry palm had him as the last four in right clark that's right exactly and jp is usually right on top of that stuff between him and seth davis we've got some pretty serious bracketologists in our group we know kentucky will be there and they're going to have a double bye as will arkansas tennessee and auburn next week in tampa in the sec tournament and here's what we were talking about florida 19 and 11. part of the last four in according to jerry a lot of uh big ten action over there in the first four on [Music] category athletics students be our american campus communities rowdiest reptile today i for those of you want to see the conclusion of the alabama lsu game go to cbssports.com they've got a good one going there in overtime one point game in overtime with 38 seconds to go florida meanwhile we'll have it under their own basket trailing by five boy that game in front of us certainly bodes well for what's going to take place in tampa in the sec tournament right brad i think it's going to be chaotic across the country castleton trying to back in on shibuya that's not easy no double long hook good job by big o there oscar shebway able to keep him from getting keep castleton from getting as close as he wanted to on that shot washington long fadeaway got pushed before the shot this is where kentucky is really tough because they've got two points of guards out there virtually they spaced the floor and give those guys washington and wheeler opportunities to put it on the floor it was one of the things mike white was concerned about we've got to keep them out of the middle off the dribble without fouling you talk about having two point guards on the floor when wheeler was out due to injury ty ty washington had one gamer had 17 assists yeah so i mean you're right they can both handle it they can both dish it and they can score when they need to fade away by grady [Music] i don't think grady shoots enough that was his first shot today i would agree with that he struggled recently but he is lethal 43 from behind the arc and he's got more than just a catch and shoot in the three-point game he can put it on the floor and get to the bucket and to your point i think he may need to look to do a little more of that inside the arc which would set up his three-point shot more easily here's applebee to hit the back of the rim castle in there to clean it up collins got four cuts the lead to three if at one point you looked at the score and you saw eight four and then we came out of a commercial during the commercial they changed xavier wheeler's two-pointer to a three-pointer so it's not our truck it's not us it's the scorer column and the referees way to clean that up partner missed the jumper somehow got his own miss oh it's up with his feet but yeah good work by that young man oscar shivway here you take a look he's got it and there's the shuffle right there he had possession even though a couple of florida guys got their hands on it cheaply had full possession and shuffled his feet good call [Applause] [Music] [Applause] andres fleming on the dribble one of the many seniors of senior day here in gainesville [Applause] sort of an emotional time for those guys playing their last home game here's the outlet the grady what a pass wow i didn't ask john calipari if this was his best transition team but he clearly is one of his best yes it is because they don't waste any time you missed a shot they defensive board they're looking ahead and again it's beneficial to have basically three point guards out there i mean davion mitch is out there mince is out there now but when washington and wheeler are there they're really looking to push it with the pass and the dribble the mince was their leading scorer last year and he comes off the bench so that's not bad and this is a much more veteran team than we're used to seeing from kentucky ty ty washington the freshman the only guy in the starting lineup but they averaged almost 21 years old for this team and that's really old for a kentucky team it sure is very seasoned and talking to davion mintz this morning he said it's the best team he's been around or been on because of the camaraderie and how well connected they are as a group everybody is about the team and pulling for each other to succeed i asked john i said what's the difference between coaching guys like this and guys that are 18. he said they listen and they show up on time maturity we called it yeah right castle nice looking hook he's got six i'll tell you he's got the look of a guy who wants to get busy in there the gators need to make sure he gets a touch every time down awkward looking left-handed shot but it goes for jacob thomas love his game brad he's such a versatile player topping didn't play in the first meeting but he defends multiple positions he can finish at the rim as he showed you there he's got a decent feel can handle and pass a little bit mike white's going to take a timeout 12.06 romantic here in the first half [Music] [Applause] a white out at o'connell center today for the most part except the kentucky fans in blue kentucky looking for their 25th win of the season and trying to stay with the possibility of winning the sec regular season title auburn is in action right now auburn's got a share of the title we know that kentucky looking for a share of their 50th sec regular season title and we're going to throw it back to greg 80 to 77 over alabama back to gainesville brad in special k all right greg thanks it's always fun clark and i are sitting here watching one game we're doing another game it's march it's marching serious that's exactly what i was thinking partner multiple screens drama everywhere man we got monitors all over the place and then clark's got his ipad over there we got another game going over there that's arkansas tennessee they just went finally the ball's held on after a big lead they end up winning by four well closing in on a win it looks like meanwhile here florida trailing by five sheboy clears off the miss you gotta get back if you're the gators mints going straight up with it got it see fast breaks are not just about running to the rim especially in this day and age right it's about a quick hit and getting a quality look at a three for a good shooter and kentucky does both they run to the rim and they also hit you with the transition three [Music] florida comes back with an answer inside sheboy missed in close got his own rebound and put it in that guy's just so persistent and has such a nose and knack for pursuing the ball right now brad they're getting hurt defensive transition and on the glass that's the two areas that mike white told us we're going to be the must do's for his team so far not good enough kentucky one of the best rebounding teams as far as rebounding margin over their opponent in the country plus 10 actually even more than that wheeler the lob is over the head of everybody up but a push underneath and it's going to be a foul on lane [Applause] [Music] [Applause] reeves goes out [Applause] thought about taking that jumper gets it back from topping wheeler crossover dribble and then a high arching layup with a left hand savior wheeler at five nine you've got to be a little bit creative and he's pretty good at getting it off the window like that tell you what he loves this building in two and five games at george he averaged 14 points a game against the gators biggest deficit so far of the half [Applause] for those of you that were watching lsu's overtime victory we welcome you to gainesville another sec matchup here second game of our triple header on cbs i'm brad nessler my partner's clark kellogg this is a florida team desperately in need of a 20th win and a quality win against a team like kentucky and right now kentucky has outplayed him here the opening 10 minutes of the half and have a nine point lead here's the guys on the floor right now for the gators and the wildcats including a player of the year candidate who's about to go to the free-throw line first time either team has been to the strike oscar a 69 free throw shooter and the best rebounder in the country when he gets that mid-range jump shot worked out clark he's going to be tough to handle watch out now he's got excellent footwork tremendous hands and he's really improved his finishing in the post and he's having an unprecedented year in terms of rebounding and double doubles a historic year 24 double doubles this year alone so far and that ties the great dan issel in the kentucky record books for the most of a single season and of course we got a long ways to go i just talked to dan the other day and didn't realize he had 24 double doubles until they did some homework but uh you get put in that category that's a high cotton man that's major high cotton and he's had 12 double doubles in a row iron jones just stuck one on the back of the rim [Applause] here we go that ball has a little extra stick him on it and there it got jammed right between the goal and the glass and so far brad florida has not been patient enough offensively they've taken some questionable shots early have not gotten back defensively and kentucky is rolling kentucky does not live by the three-point shot but they shoot it better than anybody else percentage-wise in the sec when you get guys like mints coming off the bench and all of a sudden getting hot you got problems and vince has got back-to-back threes quality looks as well one in transition and that one in the half court [Applause] it looks like alphabet drew a foul in the act of shooting i believe yeah he's going to go to the line that's where guilty party applebee has yet to score and he's been on the tear recently 20 points a game in his last four but he's taken a couple of quick questionable shots here in the early going and has not found any kind of rhythm [Applause] [Music] i'm not sure calipari may be arguing that that shouldn't have been it in the act foul that perhaps it was on the floor but from this distance i'm not quite sure over there with a headset on the scorers table to take a look at the replay that clearly could have been on the floor particularly at the college level as you officiate well no he had already gathered that ball was up i could see that being a in the act foul yeah that's enough of a going into the motion there where it warrants the shooting foul in my opinion yep one more look from a different angle maybe he did get him before if the whistle was blown as he was on the dribble then [Applause] that was really close but i thought just looking at an industry that he had gotten into the gathering right as the bump was occurring and whistling the shooting act foul was the right one you start slowing this stuff down and replay it you can start changing your mind on it so applebee goes to the line shooting three and shooting very well from the line 87 free throw shooter one of the seniors started his career cleveland state jacksonville arkansas and that wasn't an 87 free throw there well i tell you what john calipari has to be pleased with the start by his team he wanted them to be locked in and even keel [Applause] two misses in a row by appleby you can gear up with new cases of ncis and ncis hawaii join the teams as they solve mondays for you ncis and ncis hawaii new episodes monday at 9 8 central on cbs tyree i talked you up about your free throw shooting hit this third one would you there you go only got one of three well one of the other things brad you never know how the emotion of senior day is going to cut and oftentimes it can lead to a funky and flat start and i think we've seen some of that with florida not to mention how good kentucky's been stopping can't get the jumper to go florida wins the battle for the rebound talk about emotions if you weren't with us because of the previous game it was an emotional start fiance johnson started the game the player who was pre-season choice for player of the year a season ago and then in early december suffered a medical emergency on the court against fsu and hasn't played since obviously and so his career ended here today but he was in the starting lineup and they had the ceremonial tip went to him he took a couple dribbles standing ovation for about five minutes and then we had a re-tip to get the game going for real so a nice gesture by both teams uh great for kiante and his family being here and being part of the ceremony and so the emotions of that i think have kind of taken the gas a little bit there's what he was and here he was today and the fans reaction that have sold out o'connell center as he kisses the court and it was it was pretty cool gave you chills watching it a second time no doubt man what is your eyes that young man still has not been medically cleared to play basketball what his future holds remains to be seen although we do know he will graduate which is a heck of an accomplishment and great to see him out feeling good looking good had a chance to visit with him just briefly at the shoot around this morning outstanding player and young man and i wish he'd been the best whatever yes exactly i do hope basketball is in his future but if not he'll have a successful and productive life going forward [Music] [Applause] knocked it down just inside the three-point line grady history doesn't go oh it did go i take it back i'm not sure how get every part of the room it could possibly hit a drop through for grady that's his 85th three-pointer of the year not a smooth one but a good one they all count and he had been struggling here recently in the last couple of games he'll take whatever he can get jones on the extra pass his long threes a little too deep here comes wheeler running with mints wheeler by himself with a scoop shot absolutely lethal in transition in part because he comes at you at such speed and with such control while going 100 miles an hour that will be way off in his three minutes is going to pull up take one of his own and castleton clears off the miss i think florida's really got to idle down the offense is fed into the quit opportunities for kentucky because the shot quality hasn't moved the defense the ball hasn't really moved and as you said castleman should be getting to touch everything i agree that's exactly right he's he's got a lot of game down there and they need to put some pressure on the defense by going to him garuji has been their offense [Applause] has it knocked out of bounds it'll still be kentucky ball when we come back [Applause] a 14-point kentucky lead with 6 19 remaining in the first half let's take a look at the jersey mike subs game summary and this is about as good as i've seen kentucky play in the opening minutes so far and you've seen them what have what three or four times yeah yeah this is a fourth time i think but yeah they're doing everything right transition opportunities so lethal because they push it ahead quickly with the pass or dribble ty ty washington two assists back to back operating nicely in the pick and roll kellen grady getting behind the defense a lot of the transit a few of the transition opportunities have been fueled by florida's impatient offense and the lack of good quality shots at that end they haven't moved the defense in order for florida to have a chance to get back in this game they've got to feed castleton get him going in the post and then they've got to make threes and get quality shots move the defense move the ball can't settle for quick well-defended perimeter shots this would be a huge win a feather in the cap and the committees look at florida obviously if they could pick off kentucky but they're going to have to rework some things here at the end of this half of the beginning of the second half to even get back in the game four stops and then you've got to force misses and then rebound them but as you just talked about if shebway adds that to his package that little 15-footer makes it a lot easier for him and makes it much more problematic for the defense got a big smile on his face because that outside jumper he's been working on that he hit one early against arkansas and then took a few that he probably shouldn't have but that one goes and gives him eight points and he continues to swell nice backside rebound by castleton and he's fouled terrific work that time we know most shots that are taken typically come opposite on the miss so here's jones looking at the three not a bad look well contested by washington and that weak side board castleton was pretty much over there by himself other than lane his teammate in the mix so good work colin castleton last six games he's shooting 88 from the line that's what you like to see where you're heading to tournament time 6-10 6-11 senior michigan florida native knocks that one down cbs tuesdays are all new three teams three shows one night of justice the original fbi the global sensation fbi international and the twisted crimes of fbi most wanted tuesdays starting at 8 7 central on cbs and streaming on paramount plus [Applause] [Music] second one no good but the rebound picked up by lane trying to get it back into castleton and they throw it away we approached the five-minute mark in kentucky by 15 looking for the 25th win of the year washington on a runner castleton one hands it with the rebound nice job defensively that time a little drop coverage force a tough floater and rebound the missed jones had it blocked and rooted still went brooks got a hand on it i thought it dropped in anyway with a rejection [Applause] [Music] good defensive possessions ignite opportunities in the open court and a real really nice job by mckissick to beat wheeler in the open court and get that ball on the glass and get the bucket so they cut it to 10. because they got down into single digits at any point before halftime they'd be lucky or happy [Applause] exactly washington way outside and it'll be florida ball so they've got an opportunity right here to cut into single digits [Applause] those six straights has florida back in striking distance anyway jones part of that with that long three for the baseline think jones has to try to take sheboy off the dribble get a big guy on you like that you got to try to move him and she wave pulls down the miss of lanes his ninth rebound clark so he's heading to double double-double number 25 maybe before halftime remarkable washington law balance and there would have been an offensive rebound [Music] a 10-point lead 343 remaining first half all kentucky wildcats so far that's when my partner really shines as much as i love him next to me during the game when he starts calling out where everybody's going who's in who's out who should have been in and who to watch out for right oh yeah i'm always looking for those teams that you need to have in your bracket as potential upsets but yeah a great time of year and obviously looking forward to next week and then the tournament afterwards and florida is one of those will they make it and so far in this half they haven't looked like they wanted to here on their final home game before they head to the sec tournament in tampa next week this would be a quadrant one big time win if they could kick off kentucky but so far it's been all wildcats in this half [Applause] man-to-man defense here by the gators you got to keep that ball out of the middle and you want to try to keep wheeler from going left because when he does he makes things happen they got to stop with the steal pass ahead and lane drops it down and they've got it to single digits and they got the crowd back in it and brad you look at this lineup for florida it's a defensive centric lineup with mckissick with reign with daruji with rim protection with castleton and there you see jones late recovering and picks up a foul but good defense here good activity by mckissick and a beautiful pass left-handed bounce pass off the dribble right in stride and lane did the rest of the work but that was a terrific play by mckissick to come in and get the steal and then to put that pass right between the defender in stride nicely done vincent hit a couple right side he's missed his last two mckissick working against wheeler and now working inside the cassette and castleman got fouled [Music] coming up on att at the half greg seth and wally will have the latest predictions for sec teams in the tournament plus get you caught up in all the scores and highlights from today's action including an overtime before us we've still got another game to go in our triple header that's all coming up at t at the hat jones gave up an open three [Applause] castleton left-hand hook pretty for castleton leads cut to six on a 10-0 run until right there shebway flushes that down he's got 10. that quick attack and then the pilfer careless pass by castleton there that was an assumption passed [Applause] you got to throw the ball to your teammate and away from the defense tough shot people think that's easy try that a few times grady not a runner well a good response here by kentuckian john calipari talked to us this morning talked about we need to be a machine for 40 minutes no real peaks and valleys emotionally and they've pretty much been there most of this half they've been solid from the start florida made a little dent into the deficit but kentucky responded jones let fly off the mark on a three she with an easy rebound and that should give him a double double i think wow and that would be number 25 on number 13 in a row i think he's got 10 and 10 right now we're checking george hill my famous statistician tells me that is the case a 10-10 for sheboy here in the first half [Applause] look look away from the defense there wheeler's three no good cheap way keeps it alive though wheeler might get another chance in close and now castleton off the miss a minute to go first half i thought wheeler had a nice little mid-range jumper there and tried to get that parking space a little closer to the door that's right and it cost him [Applause] again florida with a chance to cut it down to eight or seven here in the final 45 seconds mckissick three and mitz with the rebound wheeler turns around has a look at coach calipari slows things down about a six or seven second difference on the shot clock in the game clock sheebway in close and a foul in roots [Applause] and it's going to be on daruji nice job here by sheebway castleton was out there off balance a bit he drove the clothes out and as a result got himself to the free-throw line i think castleton was saying oh daruji if you wouldn't have gotten him i would have gotten blocked instead it sends the vick fellow to the free-throw line his first two looking for his 11th point to go with 11 rebounds and he's got it fairmont plus a mountain of entertainment stream now head to paramountplus.com to try it for free and sheepway is heading to the bench not sure if he's got something possible yeah it must be on his wrist [Applause] to think that he has another double double and we're not even at halftime and most people 25 double-doubles in a if you stayed four years in a career you'd take it that's right 25 in a season his relentlessness and his motor and his disposition he's such an upbeat energetic effervescent guy they love him as as a teammate and his rebounding and you know most outstanding rebounders you've been around for a long time are not the tallest guys they're usually between six six and six nine have a great nose for the ball are relentless in pursuing it have enough physicality to battle with bigger guys and that's who and what he is there'll never be another oscar robertson but with all due respect they call him the big o his teammates do the kentucky fans do and i guess anybody that doesn't know that hasn't watched kentucky basketball but right um he's a good one he is he deserves a nickname he does still no question and it fits i mean his first name is oscar big old fitch you know i like to cut people's names short on occasion so big o works and he's doing big things oscar shebway and there he just blocked the shot [Applause] leads this team in points steals field goal field goal percentage and blocks yep that's quite a bit that's what we call stuffing the stack supremely exactly there's a turnover florida didn't need mince at the buzzer oh [Applause] an opportunity to get it back down they cut it from 16 to 6. but now here at intermission they're down double digits down 12 and it would have been 15 if that would have stayed in really impressive half for the wildcats on the road started fast and finished strong and the end of the first half 38-26 will send you to greg gumbel in new york with the att at the half right after these messages seven seniors making their final appearance on billy donovan court here the o'connell center in gainesville today including chianti johnson who actually started the game and then we restarted the game so we take a look at our first half statistics brought to you by sonic kentucky doesn't live by the three florida does and they're not doing enough of it right now yeah they typically may eight make eight a game brad they need to make at least that if they're going to have a chance to get back in this one they've got to come up with some stops wally made a great point about kentucky's defense i thought florida's looks from the perimeter were really bothered and disrupted by the kentucky defense and then the big fella in the middle too much cheap way just like in the first game he had 27 and 18 and he had that kind of first half again he sure did and doing a great job here ty ty washington operating in the pick and roll beautiful pocket pass and shebway doing what chief way does bagging his own groceries you miss it and go get it knocking down the mid-range day and then when he seals you they do a really good job brad kentucky does of passing angles into the post as a matter of fact john calipari said don't you throw it in there unless he's in the paint right and he does a great job of getting himself into the paint excellent work by john calipari's team here on the road doing exactly what he talked about being machine like they did it for the first half can they do it for another 20 minutes in florida somehow put a push together like they did when they cut it down to six this is a much needed game four mike white and the gators as far as their tournament resume is concerned well they'll have to start this half better than the gators started the game exactly they've got to make sure they get quality shots move that defense get open threes and try and knock them down and then defensively you've got to try to be able to keep kentucky out of the paint and out of the middle jones an open look that was a good start now castlevania but see that's why you move the defense brad even if you miss you've got now the defense shifting and you've got one lanes to possibly get to the offensive blast castleton the first florida player in double figures now at 11. chibway had the pass swatted away kentucky turnover jones will try another one and the follows missed would have been an acrobatic finish by doruji [Applause] nice start thus far for the gators after good ball movement a good open look and great work by daruji on the glass to give colin castleton a dunk and he actually almost had an and one there also looking for double figures if he hits his free throw nice to have him back in the lineup he missed the last two games and was a game time decision today and mike white glad to have him back on the court had a huge game against mississippi state and he had 18 and it was 22 in the second half they could use that kind of performance out of him in this half got one or two from the line they get it back to nine washington double team gets it to shebway on the drive way up on the window too high kentucky a man short right now defensively if they get at the castle can they do what a pass that was a look off by fleming junior right to the chest of castleton and just the start you want if you're mike white john calipari had seen it up a little over a minute into the second half florida doing what clark said they needed to do they're back in the game [Applause] [Music] take a look at the fast analysis presented by att 5g well the gators showing a little chunk jump to start this second half [Music] now we take a look at pushing this ball ahead take a look balls here defender there and then right there rim running is colin castleton and you can't see it from behind but fleming looked off he looked to that left corner and then drilled that pass right to the chest of castleton with a little more bite here from the gators defensively on the glass to start this second half kentucky's had an answer each time florida has made a push let's see if they can do so again chibway off the feed from washington that's a good answer 14 points 12 rebounds for oscar shibley things get a little squirrely home team making a run let's throw it down to big o [Music] [Applause] [Music] fleming and into some traffic through it up there anyway and drew a foul i like what florida's doing i mean i know they i think they still need to make some threes but the fact that they're attacking getting inside scores this will be the second opportunity at the free throw line in the first two minutes of the second half [Music] they've got 253's on the season but they're going to need some more as you said in this half as swimming goes to the freezer line wednesday march 16 nine celebrities trade their world of luxury to live in the jungles of panama it's the most dangerous celebrity adventure ever attempted beyond the edge series premiere wednesday march 16th after survivor those are the first two points for philanders fleming one of the seven seniors playing their final game on this floor today and they kept the lead down to seven fleming coming off a two-game stretch where he had totaled 43 points and made big plays at the defensive end too and there's oscar shivway again he does such a good job brad of getting his body between the defender and the ball and it just makes it tough for defenders to get around him once he seals him and there's just a little bit of a push on castleton you couldn't really see it it wasn't an offensive foul but those big arms and that muscle he makes his way inside i'm telling exactly his teammates do a really good job of creating the angles to throw it in there applebee that's a nice angle down to castleton in low block by shebway ball comes out to washington didn't catch it cleanly that cost him left hand hook got it that's a wrap it's a wrap if he catches it in there and you don't have time to double him well i love the way kentucky has responded each time every time every time they just have not allowed florida to really build on any positive momentum and there's the steel's leader oh boy this is going to be a finish my goodness this young man is special now he's got 20 points and he's got an and one coming how about the hands though and then the dexterity not a bad handle in route only to take about three dribbles but they were good wrong foot he did that was a wrong foot throw down that's nice you very well could be looking at the player of the year in the country although i think it's between him and johnny davis and either one you can make a strong case for but what he's doing historically right which is unprecedented in the last 40 years on so many levels may give him the knowledge [Applause] continues to add to his offense and the lead swells right back to 14. well it's basically been oscar sheblade giving the gators the heisman exactly and there are the two guys i think have separated themselves from the other legitimate candidates for national player of the year johnny davis of wisconsin how about the badgers having a phenomenal year they clinched the share of at least the big ten regular season title the other night and he's been big in big moments he's had a lot of moments of magnitude i like to call them but this young man here number 34 has had his share as well by the way we want to congratulate bruce pearl and auburn for the outright sec regular season title they won the game earlier today and i'm sure they're probably just getting done maybe with their press conference and all of that but uh you talk about a team that put it together after a bad year auburn and kentucky are two of the biggest kentucky was nine and 16 last year they're looking for their 25th win and trying to chase auburn that sounds weird because it's normally everybody chasing kentucky but auburn winning the outright crown it'll be the number one seed in the sec tournament in tampa next week yeah bruce pearl and his staff and that team an outstanding job thus far as myron jones gets one to go down but can florida find enough defense to build consecutive stops to give themselves a chance to get back in this game that's the question [Applause] [Music] [Applause] come by for the rebound [Music] [Applause] that will be only as one point in the game g rimmed out a three the follows no good either castleton third time's a charm passer then hung with it 15 for collin castleton and we're almost at the 15 minute mark well i'll tell you what florida's doing enough in the paint to give themselves a chance but they have to complement it with [Applause] chance again get it into single digits here for florida [Applause] and a whistle before the shot uruzi was out of bounds very few turnovers that's a costly one there 15 23 remaining here in gainesville [Music] [Applause] here in march madness is just around the corner here's the standings auburn has won the outright title in the sec by virtue of their win earlier today we congratulate them tennessee kentucky trying to stay right there with 14 wins we know that auburn will be the number one seed as you look at the top seven around the sec and uh they're hoping that all those teams the conference hope and all those teams has a date in the tournament florida hoping that they could pick off kentucky today and add to their resume but they got some work to do down 10 with 15 to go yeah i think the six teams other than florida are in the tournament fred i think it's a matter of whether florida can do enough to earn the spot and this guy is just he's got all kentucky's points in the half so far yeah he's just going solo 23 for the game he had 27 the first time they met and he's doing it a variety of different ways it's not just slam dunks that three won't go rebound cut off to somebody other than shibuya let's put it that way grady's got the miss and mid step down the sideline it's only the fifth kentucky turnover and florida's only got four so how is this going to play that way you had just made the point that it's been a low turnover game and cleanly played not a lot of fouls or free-throw attempts right kentucky has been in control from the start machine like is how john phrased it with the shoot around this morning they've been that anytime florida's threatened to make it interesting kentucky has maintained its poise and played through sheblade [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] that was unlucky pretty good move that time from flanders fleming jr got right into his sweet spot and now kentucky will take its time look to penetrate off the pick and roll and try to get it in the paint kentucky's biggest lead was 32-16 and a double-digit lead at halftime florida made a push to cut it to seven and now castleton rejected by shebway fans are looking for a foul call on that one before the gators didn't get it mints from about 16 drops it in and a 14 point cushion again kentucky just won't give in 13 36 to go john calipari up there as far as active coaches and victories and with all those wins and a fact that he's a hall of famer look where mike szyszewski is closing in on 1200 and his final game at cameron indoor is coming up tonight against north carolina and that's a remarkable list bob huggins up for has been nominated as a finalist for the nate smith hall of fame cliff elvis has had a phenomenal run i don't know if many people would realize that john calipari would be where he is on that list and having done it in far fewer seasons than the guys in front of him his last national championship 10 years ago and uh you know everybody in the world would love to be at cameron indoor including you and i tonight what's up that's going to be quite a scene wish mike uh the best i remember first time i met him four decades ago and i was doing georgia tech radio and he was getting ready to play georgia tech and he was not having the greatest of time in those first couple of years and i sat down at practice we sat on the table together i introduced myself and i said we talked for quite a while actually and i finally said mike i gotta ask you one question and i'll never ask you again how do you pronounce your last name he said it and i said i'll never learn how to spell it but i'll always remember this moment we have together and now it's 40 some years later man what a career yeah unbelievable you know what stood out to me as i've had chances to be around coach k and do games over the years obviously his coaching acumen is phenomenal but it was always his perceptiveness and his thoughtfulness and how he would coach and lead he always seemed to be adding to his layers of how to effectively lead different teams and that to me always stood out he never rested on where he was he was always thinking broadly and deeply about how do i become a better leader right and that to me stands out significant not only with all those duke players and all-americans and future nba type players but the nba players themselves on the olympic team you start getting kobe and lebron and all those guys together you got to coach differently and not just the game but his impact in influencing the game and speaking up for the game and being an ambassador for the game he was always thinking in my opinion in a broad and deep and holistic way and that's part of his uniqueness as he concludes his coaching career and they've got a chance i mean they're one of the yeah eight teams that look like from a personnel standpoint championship caliber now we know there's all kind of craziness that happens but kentucky is one of those teams auburn would be in that group gonzaga obviously and a couple of others but duke is right there top tier you know if they added a sixth banner that said national champion on his final season you can't put you give that to a movie director and they'd say you're crazy that wouldn't happen but it could happen he sure could but anyway it's going to be a special night tonight for mike and uh of course capping it off with carolina at home with cameron even if i had your money i couldn't afford tickets to that game oh you're getting way out of bounds with that derussy on the outside and a push [Applause] lance ware picks up the foul that's three unaware well florida only has two team thousands kentucky now has six so anytime you're trying to crawl out of a deficit one of the things you want to do is get to that bonus in florida a pretty good free throw shooting team 74 from the line if they can take advantage of that it might help them chip away but i still go back to what i've said a couple of times you've got to be able to knock down some threes if you're florida to knock off this kentucky team you can't just do it from the foul line and layups you've got to get some threes to go only two today they only had five the first time against kentucky and for instance their come from behind win over vanderbilt and the game that they won earlier this week they had 10 so those are what the kind of numbers they were hoping for here's appleby restoration 3. and he was well defended there and that's part of the reason they've struggled from the line now three of 15 because of kentucky's defense on the perimeter it's one of the things john calipari talked about as being a priority make them uncomfortable and don't give them good looks at the three [Applause] washington is fouled on the run by black oasey reeves appleby with the shot clock winding down hits a big three to make it a single digit game here in gainesville [Music] we're up a 78-57 route by kentucky they have threatened to run away with this one at times today too but florida keeps fighting back they've cut it down to nine with 11 52 to go they trail by as many as 16 in the game they've never led kentucky's led from the opening tip as the wildcats look for their 14th win in conference play to stay with tennessee in the number two spot in the sec standings as auburn has won the outright title by virtue of their win earlier today they already had a share of it going into that game but then they won as well this afternoon for their 15th win well the release resistance level has been what six or seven that's about as close as florida has been able to get when kentucky pushed it out to a double-digit lead now let's see what they have out of this timeout though they typically don't look to score on the initial thrust with the baseline inbounds they'll usually set it up and try to get something into sheepway and the post out of this so they do have one or two sets where they run grady to the corner and he might shake free for a three the closest they've gotten in this half was the opening minute 20 seconds of the half for john calipari to call a timeout because they cut it to 38-31 so seven is as close as they've been [Applause] again ty ty washington running the point vince out there for a long three is short washington keeps it alive grady and a runner got it see that's why i think he's got to use that more because everybody knows he's a laser from the three and they're crowding so expect that and take it off the dribble tough floater again and back to double digits he's got 2369 career points a whole bunch of those came over 2000 at davidson before coming to kentucky appleby hit his last three not this time to ruji with an athletic final but he missed it and chibwei's got his 14th rebound floyd has had a couple of those putbacks that have cried and gone wanting and afford to miss those and now kentucky will just go into the half court set try to get something with oscar in the pick and roll perhaps [Music] chibley 17 footer and he buries that one too he's got all but two of the kentucky points in this half tell you right now brad you mentioned it earlier if they start being able to rely on that it's going to be a real problem for opposing teams because big guys don't want to go out there nope [Applause] applebee ran into some traffic got it over to daruji extra pass was almost one too many and now the layup goes for mckissick well he's giving him a nice lift v-mac always brings great energy that one's short he short-handed that himself didn't hit the rim so the shot clock continues seven to shoot brady with a little finger roll he's had three of those floaters that he's knocked down and exactly he's taking what the defense is giving him they're running him off the line so you got to have something else in your tool kit to go to and he does just like that kentucky again with the answer they go back to 13 up as mince picks up the foul and florida's going to be shooting three throws [Music] i was just going to say savior wheeler hasn't played a lot this happened here he comes and washington will sit so take out one guy that can handle it a freshman you bring in a junior that's your true point guard and leading the conference get assists it's kind of a nice luxury to have it sure is that's a nice three-headed point guard position one field goal that three-pointer earlier took a shot to the leg not too long ago and it seems to be just a touch really good free throw shooter but not today he's one for four [Applause] well half will be not moving very well and he only played seven minutes in the first place right had a thigh injury took a knee to the side only had one rebound and one assist and no points in that game mints with the miss and sheba trying to save it look out everybody [Applause] brady goes up and over trying to keep the ball in bounds and that wasn't a great landing [Applause] well you applaud the effort there and he bumps in the lane here see lane just kind of holds his ground and boy that could have been uglier than it ended up being [Applause] i don't think there was enough there to warn the whistle he was just holding his ground he didn't really back into him lane slipped in the lane and still got the hook shot to go [Applause] wheeler and vince weaving it out on top kentucky using some clock here we approach eight and a half minutes five to shoot mints topping a runner and it didn't hit the rim so the shot clock went off but they got the rebound the gators anyway [Applause] they finally get a stop on one end can they get a good look on the other end and foul on mints will send fleming to the free-throw line don't miss a missouri valley conference semifinal drake takes out missouri state for a chance this year's conference title game tip-off starts at 6 eastern on cbs sports network top four seeds advancing in the mvc championship action tomorrow right here on cbs that's always a terrific tournament yeah it is arch madness florida 7 out of 12 from the free throw line today they're the fourth best shooting free throw shooting team in the sec but they've left some out there today especially applebee's 87 free throw shooter and fleming likewise misses one he had hit his first four [Applause] kion brooks comes back in top and goes out for kentucky and savior wheeler has a word with coach calipari [Music] [Applause] got the second gets it down to the 10-point mark at the eight-minute mark [Music] brady way back out to wheeler wheeler with a left-hand runner got it wow that's tough you're right he likes this floor like you said no he does i mean there's some buildings you know you play in certain teams match-up favors you you just have good confidence and a good vibe and you do work in this place and this team is that for a wheeler try to feed castleton florida turns it over here comes wheeler in a hurry [Applause] quick ball movement by kentucky to get it to grady but they'll have to bring it back out on top [Applause] momentarily lost the handle and got it up dropped it off the back of the iron savior wheeler back-to-back baskets at one point only sheboy had scored but then grady added a couple vince hit one now wheeler back-to-back buckets smallest guy on the floor still doing some big things for the cats [Music] our game summary of kentucky coming off an ole miss win earlier this week when they shot 60 percent shooting well again today at 52 the gators uh missed some free throws that they could certainly use don't forget coming up next final game of our triple header and the pac-12 oregon takes on washington state right here on cbs spiro dd's pete gillen will have it for you when we're done and arizona the top team in the pac-12 in the conference regular season crown i am part of a group of teams that look like championship caliber you look at the size and the athleticism across the front line and the perimeter for arizona tommy lloyd in the conversation for coach of the year along with bruce pearl and ed cooley at providence but yeah you look at the pac-12 oregon much work to be done if they're going to be part of the field of 68. how about if tommy lloyd will coach of the year in his first year as a head coach that would be something that would be impressive he's done a terrific job being the long time assistant of mark few at gonzaga doing a terrific job this season i had them earlier this year and while they didn't play great in that game you can certainly see they have the makings of one of those teams that might be there at the end for sure and florida just hasn't been able to crack through in a way to put any real pressure on kentucky it hasn't quite been a jog in the park for the wildcats but it hasn't been a real all-out sprint either i mean it's basically been a comfortable day doing what they came in here to do jump on the lead early execute be efficient and import every rally that the gators have tried to make it was cheap way initially this afternoon and now wheeler has gone on his own little solo spurt ability for six straight points in this half for kentucky shebway's got 13. wheeler's got six grady four mints two but at one point it was just all after sheboy and castleton now takes it outside he's had a really good game but it's just not quite good enough well the gators just haven't been sharp enough from the start and you wonder about the emotion of senior day but give kentucky credit defensively they were locked in executed offensively early and have had a comfortable eight to 12 point lead pretty much the whole way [Applause] [Music] [Applause] mints tipped inside battle for the rebound and he won it and they'll start all over bring it back out on top i think that was shibley in there keeping it alive on the initial miss no need to rush take your time but stay aggressive [Applause] wheeler will take it off the window missed this time and hustle trying to get his own rebound that's going to be out of bounds to florida these are some of the teams you came up with that you don't want to play maybe well you certainly don't i tell you what this team right here any of those teams that are out there on the stoop they want to see them win their conference championship tonight because that team is in that large team in my estimation murray state seton hall has size saint mary's is tough i mean the memphis tigers if they find themselves in the tournament the athleticism and depth that that crew has those are teams that you'll be seeing if you see them in your bracket you know they were taking some heat and so was their coach earlier this year because they weren't putting it together and he kept pleading then he kept saying please these guys are young just give us a break will you and all of a sudden from that point on they've been playing really if well ever figure out how to squeeze the orange consistently they're winning games throwing it away 15 18 19 times vince thought about a three [Applause] now he's gonna kick it back out to sheboy three to shoot somebody's gotta have to hoist it radiating strip nice job by applebee i think we got a violation of the shot clock there and uh you'd like to see it's hard though you got if the shot clock expires you got to stop it but sometimes you take an advantage away from the defense going the other way exactly that's what the gators are pleading but right here's where the whistle was blown and appleby had a guy in front [Applause] so that's being explained to castleton right now which is going to be the inbound guy over to our right it's going to be a substitution first jones getting back in there the lane to come out solid crew on hand here calling the game and it's been well officiated for the most part pat adams despite what the rowdy reptile oh yeah handling this one quite well castleton has scored florida's last six points make it eight well he's really come up here in the second half is it going to be enough though down to eight again [Applause] gators need a stop right here with three and a half to go a stop and a shot on the other end of this place will explode problem is they got it to sheboy so much for that idea the execution though the spacing brad the angles i mean that's what makes that happen and then shibuy does his job he gets his body on his defender and holds him off but got really good hands too yes that's the other piece yeah that is the big piece because he catches that idea you talk about squeezing oranges he's got juice out there when that thing is in his midst three minutes to go three pointer and rouge castleton battles with shibuya the two big guys with a tie up possession error will be kentucky's ball with 251 remaining 10-point ball game in gainesville [Music] [Applause] and now the capital one rewarding performance gee i wonder who this might be clark who else big oh oscar [Music] every time they needed a big play he was right there 27 points 15 rebounds three steals two block shots and his 13th straight double-double and his 25th overall on the season that breaks the kentucky single-season mark of dan essel he had done that at halftime right yeah he had the double-double by halftime i just love his mother and you mentioned it too brad the hands outstanding scores particularly in the post don't have average hands they usually have exceptional hands because they have to catch not just the good pass but you have to catch some that are low and exact target and he does that and then he's efficient in his finishing his footwork is really good his positioning is excellent and then he knocked down a couple of the elbow jumpers today which just were making that much more difficult to deal with kentucky couldn't get the ball in forced to call a timeout so we'll take one right here as well [Music] boy you take a look at these teams here dangerous if they're dancing now there's some obviously most of these teams are going to have to earn their way into the tournament but north texas is on a winning streak look at the quad one and two wins not just the wins but the number of games these teams because it's often hard for them to get quad one and quad two opportunities so good numbers exactly and yell even though one in five from james jones has a team that's quite capable although they'll have to get through pin or princeton i think to when that ivy league bid unless something strange happens here in the last two and a half minutes for florida they got some work to do in the sec tournament i think to assure themselves agreed and of course the selection show is six eastern a week from tomorrow wheeler outside had to take that three with a shot clock expiring [Applause] foul on the rebound [Applause] castleton who's that a really good game trying to box out sheepway and there he is pushing off yeah you get that arm away from your body that much now if you've got it close to you the chicken wing in tight in your pumping they'll allow that but once you get it out extended that's an easy foul call colin's about 240 and he's taller than cheap way but she weighs about 255. so that has been a battle all day long has held his own i mean he's done a terrific job today it's been effective for the gators he's got 23 points exactly that's my point not an average game by anybody's stretch but it's pretty tough against number 34. it's only the fifth floor to foul and then number 34 has had timely help from his teammates all game they love it to him again this time castleton knocked it away though nice defensive job by colin castle yeah i thought topping forced that when he had a wing pass to grady but he's kind of locked in on throwing it over the top a three would be big but that three short and washington's got the rebound and the outlet to wheeler those two will do some dribbling i'm sure of this possession as the clock is not [Applause] a gator fan right now [Applause] they work it under 10 to shoot [Applause] wheeler trying to lob it underneath and so back-to-back plays by castleton to come up with the ball but they need points on the other end in a hurry reverse layup won't go [Applause] plane gets it into fleming who draws a foul been a tough day for fleming as well we've been playing so well but in kentucky the majority of the credit i mean they stepped in here and started fast defensively were on point collectively didn't give florida much opportunity for good looks in the early going from the perimeter under john calipari when kentucky holds an opponent to 55 or less they're 83-0 well they didn't hold florida to 55 because he just hit the free throw but you get my meeting they can play good defense and they can score from a lot of different angles and people [Applause] check back in and castleton will come out just over a minute remaining some full court pressure here from the gators trailing by a can they come up with a steal washington runs by everybody and then he's fouled then he took a look got tripped up on the ankle he doesn't need any more of that [Music] he just had that look on his face as he walked over and dribbled past us as if to say no not again yeah they just get their feet tangled up here that's the rougey just an awkward and then he's got to push him with the right hand as he tried to break his fall seems as though ty ty is walking it off okay he hurt that ankle in the auburn game at auburn and then it was a lower leg injury against florida right against florida right in the first and then john calipari says i shouldn't have played him against tennessee as early as that hit i should have left him healed and then he did leave him out of the lineup for a couple games so he's still working that leg over right up right and now now is shooting free throws florida 17 foul jones comes back in and neil's lane goes out at the free-throw line as jacob topping he had a sensational [Music] 360 dunk in the auburn game of course his brother won the dunk contest at the nba all-star room that's right [Applause] [Music] [Applause] now the reptiles at least got something to cheer about airball just under a minute to go jacob alligator armed that one [Applause] [Music] i don't recall ever doing that as a player an airball no from the free-throw line shot airborne but not for now nice drive by applebee well it's still a game wow 51 seconds left don't go away that was florida's final timeout they've cut it down a two possession game kentucky hasn't scored in two and a half minutes and you and i were talking about it during the break partner kentucky just kind of it around took their foot off the gas and the flow of their offense is just kaput right now yeah driving the car with the parking brake on there's no way to finish a game strongly we saw it a little bit earlier you've got to continue to be aggressive but smart now in this case i don't think you need to foul right away if you're floored you don't have any timeouts give yourself a chance to force a turnover pressure and then after that within eight to ten seconds if you don't get something then you're gonna have to foul and at that point you really don't have a chance to choose who you would foul and brooks just threw it away but that's what you that's why you don't foul right away you try to create some type of mistake and now that you have the ball i think you've got to try to get the ball inside you're in the bonus you've got an opportunity to put pressure on kentucky see if you can get a basket inside or draw a foul brooks thought that wheeler was going to break to the outside in front of the florida bench and he put the brakes on and brooks is trying to explain it to his teammates over on the kentucky they're going to take a look at it brad in the last two minutes they can take a look at any type of change of possession so the play is under review 51.3 seconds oh this is a real bonus because no time went off the clock right from the florida standpoint [Applause] maybe that's what they're reviewing is the clock not the whether or not the ball was touched well it was never touched well there's no reason for the clock to move i don't think it's got to be touched before the clock can move yeah maybe they were trying to see if they got a finger tip yeah so three turnovers in the last two and a half minutes [Music] that one just went straight to the florida bench so still 51-3 yep but florida ball and you got to be fairly quick here if you're florida you don't have to be in a rush but you need something reasonably quick and i think you try to get it in the paint applebee gets it right back and he's going to try to drive nope he's going to kick out to fleming for three a little bit short the rebound is washington's and then a foul i didn't dislike that because you had penetration first compress the defense and you get an open three for a pretty good three-point shooter nice job by appleby and you can see fleming disappointed with himself but he draws two defenders and that's a great look and it just was short and that's been the story of the day for the gators when they've had they haven't had a lot of good looks at three but when they have had good ones they haven't knocked them down they went five for 22 the first time those two teams played and they're still trying to get the five today washington at the why it's a crowd well the two things mike white talked about at the top of the scouting report for transition defense and rebound and after the first part of the game they did better in both of those areas and he said we needed to make some threes and not have live ball turnovers the only thing they didn't do better after the start was knocked down the threes the other stuff they did at least at a reasonable level they got behind early and it was a struggle for him really from the get-go and now kentucky looking for a run out their wheeler but he's going to wisely bring it back out and use some clock and they're going to foul washington again anyways jones wow [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] got him when he went in and got that ball [Applause] [Music] [Applause] tyree one of the seven seniors playing on this floor for a final time today [Applause] mike white goes out to have a look at him along with dave warren of the trainer and on the other end ty ty washington who's not been big offensively today but he hasn't had to be he's played a good floor game he played a lot of point when wheeler wasn't in there [Applause] a smooth performer for a freshman he really is arizona first arizona player ever to play for kentucky for those of you expecting to see oregon washington state game it's available right now on cbsports.com we'll get you out to that game as soon as ours is over which is 27.8 seconds in regulation as washington hits another free throw and the second one by ty ty can make it a 10 point game again with under a half minute to go would be kentucky's 25th win of the year they're 14th in conference play [Applause] [Music] and they're going to be heading to tampa in the sec tournament with a double bye along with tennessee arkansas and the league champion of auburn tigers and with probably a couple of days off before they have to play on friday brad which will give players an opportunity to refresh and reset yeah so i imagine they might have a day or two off in the in the near future and then get back to a couple of consistent practices and really be set and ready for the postseason davey admits to go to the free-throw line [Music] his first trip 10th floor to foul so vince's got a couple and we'll put kentucky in there at 14 and four because it looks like the final 18 seconds gonna belong to the wildcats as the majority of the game has they'll go to 25 and six really an impressive workmanlike effort by the wildcats here today brad sure was on both edge of the floor yeah and then when you got number 34 in the middle as your anchor man oscar shibley who was brilliant again today almost matched what he did in the first game this year when he had 27 points and 18 rebounds today 27 and 15. so really an off off day on the boards right really he gets so many rebounds that when he doesn't have 18 or maybe even 20 which he's had five times this year hey 20 rebounds in a college game is a bump that's a bunch that is a bunch because you only got 40 minutes i mean 20 in an nba game it doesn't happen very often that's right with 48 minutes with eight extra minutes and far more possessions [Applause] maybe florida one more shot but it won't be enough that is the final shot [Applause] and kentucky an impressive win on the road today 71-63 our final will florida make it to the tournament we'll see we know kentucky will be there that's going to wrap it up for us for clark kellogg and gene sterritor brad nessler saying so long from gainesville final score kentucky 71 florida 63 coming up next oregon washington state this has been a presentation of cbs sports we'll get you to pullman right after these messages
