I don't care if it starts at 4:46:57 in the video! TIME TO WATCH IT ALL!
ugh. i remember staying up wicked late to watch this as a 14 year old. so worth it.
My heart was pounding. Still unbelievable.
Ortiz in the 2004 Post Season was locked in at a level probably never seen or that will never be seen again.
Not necessarily the best Ortiz highlight but certainly the highlight of the bullpen catcher. Look at him nonchalantly catch this Ortiz bomb while still in the crouch waiting for the RP to deliver.

I stayed up late (work was hard that week) every game, and maybe it's because my memory's fading, but the grand slam in the bottom of the 8th inning to tie the game in the Detroit ALCS a couple years back had my 40 year old ass jumping and squealing like a kid. I don't recall being that way in 2004. I mean, I was happy and all, but even after game 5, they were still down 3-2 going back to NY. I was still waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I was there! Highest I've ever felt w/o drugs. The crowd was a singular organism.
Why not us ?

It doesn't get any better than this in my opinion. That whole game seemed like a loss until that moment. And the way Ortiz just keeps a stone cold face as he's making the round just shows what a competitor he is. He knows this just ties the game.
