[Music] hey what's up guys welcome to another episode of pan the organizer so today I'm giving you a 2-year update on the performance and durability of the Adams Advanced graphine ceramic coating this is supposed to be a 9year plus of protection type coding for your vehicle so we applied it to my girlfriend's vehicle uh in October of 20121 when she bought her Nissan Rogue brand new of course we did the full uh paint prep steps and all the Eon and the proper application if you want to see that video I'll leave it linked in the description under this video and so yeah it's been through 2 years it's her daily driver it currently has 40,000 km or roughly 25,000 mil uh in the winter time it sits in the garage uh overnight uh but it's outside in the elements all day and the rest of the year it's pretty much all outside all day long exposed to the elements so a good blend of both a bit of garage kept during the winter a daily driver and kept outside all the time it's been properly maintained so every two to three months kind of a maintenance wash with a Topper applied to it uh you can see the updates on the channel I did updates uh every few months uh for the for the coding itself but it's not maintained like I would maintain my own car right I wash my car twice weekly this car gets washed approximately once a month and again it received a Topper or a maintenance wash every 2 to 3 months as you're supposed to with the coating so we're going to see how well it's doing also don't confuse this is the advanced uh graphine ceramic coating so it has 50% of more raw ingredients and solids compared to the standard silver label atams graphine ceramic coating this one here is a seven-year cating and the advanced version is supposed to be a nine-year cating that claim is pretty bold right uh so of course I'm going to follow uh how that does but today I decided to put it through the ringer do something a bit different by the way guys don't worry any products that I'm using I'm going to leave Linked In the description under the video for you guys to check them out so all you have to do is sit back relax and enjoy the show also quick disclaimer this is not a sponsored video nobody paid for this video uh I'm also bonus I'm going to be giving you an update on the performance of the stoner um invisible glass glass coating so the ceramic coating for the glass uh that we applied roughly 6 to 7 months at this point on my girlfriend's car my brother's car and a few other vehicles uh but I'm give you I'm going to give you my overall Impressions on that today I decided to put the coating itself through the ringer uh we're going to test its chemical resistance cuz Coatings do have a chemical resistance that is much greater compared to tradition caruba waxes or synthetic pain sealants so although for regular weekly washes all you need is a pH neutral snow foam or pH neutral car shampoo first of all on the vehicle I decided to use the Geon bug and grime remover so this is great to start breaking down the bug guts on the vehicle cuz maybe you can tell on camera it wasn't the dirtiest so we're just before winter at this point so this is kind of a maintenance wash to also prepare it uh for the winter months so a bit of water spotting here and there uh bug guts that have dried on the paint that were left unattended a bit too long to my liking uh but hey that's part of life it was exposed again to the elements there was rain and all sorts of stuff uh so we're going to see how well this does but yeah we decided to spray a bug and grime remover again to show that these um ceramic Coatings are supposed to protect against uh things like tree sap bird droppings acid rain protect against the elements against the UV ray make the vehicle a lot easier to wash during your maintenance washes give gloss give slickness so a bunch of cool stuff right especially also the hydrophobic properties making the car not only easier to wash but easier to dry as well cuz the water just flies off uh then on a dry paint I decided to use a belt Hamber autofoam this is a very heavily alkaline pre-washed snow foam ph13 I do not recommend this for your regular weekly washes uh but every now and then to kind of unclog the pores of your coating or to remove a bit of that road film or traffic film that can be masking the properties of your coating this is a good idea uh typically you can use this 2% P all the way up to 5% P today I decided to use 4% uh P or panel impact ratio the dilution for this uh so again left it on there blanketed the entire vehicle so this built Hammer is part of the pre-wash so pH neutral snow fors are used more for lubrication but the more alkaline versions like these guys do have pre- cleaning properties so again to alleviate uh amount the amount of dirt traffic fill and Road Grime before you do the contact wash right so leave this a couple of minutes don't let it dry in Sun then you fully rinse the vehicle and we're now to the point where we're ready to go uh and we're going to do the contact wash now for the contact wash I'm using carpro descale this is an acidic pH shampoo so this is a pretty heavy duty stuff you would not use this again on a weekly basis for your regular washes this is only as an as needed basis so this is a Al um sorry this is an acidic shampoo that you can use either in the pre-wash in your foam Cannon or today we're using it in the bucket roughly 5 ounces of this for four gallons of water inside your wash bucket this is going to remove uh minerals it can help to strip older waxes or sealant or a bit of the Toppers so here it's been a few months now since I applied a Topper the last time but whatever remnants there are of that this is going to hopefully strip that away so we're going to be left with the bare coating itself can again unclog the coating pores and also help to remove the mineral deposits that come from water spots that are left unattended so this is quite a Strong Shampoo we're also going to do an iron remover stage after we wash the vehicle again to see if there are any iron particles or embedded brake dust in the the clear coat itself see if we get any reaction uh and again yes the coating can resist iron removers this actually is very good for maintenance every 3 to four months you should be doing an iron remover on COD cars I get that question asked often or as needed depending on your level of brake dust contamination I also pre- cleaned the wheels and tires cuz this is not a wheel and tire cleaning tutorial but I use the uh Adams Wheel and Tire cleaner this is roughly a pH of 13 be careful with this cuz it could potentially damage a coating on your wheels if you have a coating but then you can replenish with kind of a sprayon rinse off sealant if you have that you know you guys know who have been following my channel very simple spray on rinse off and then you have protection for 1 to three months so very easy to apply but yeah use this to clean the wheels and tires and once we're done cleaning the entire vehicle we will be applying a Topper to prepare it for the next few months uh and this is going to be carpro reload 2.0 their new formulation supposed to last a bit longer easier to apply a bit more gloss slickness all that good stuff uh I absolutely like carpro and then we're going to of course give you also uh my opinion on how the um invisible glass from Stoner but their glass coating is performing uh on the windshield on this vehicle uh cuz initially I did apply when we first applied the coating on the paintwork for the Adams graphine ceramic coating Advanced formulation in October 2021 I had used this on the windshield unfortunately it didn't last very long on glass a few months at best I had spoken to Chris gallahar are the chemist over at BNB who Blends the products for atoms and as you said you can be the Jack of all trades uh usually you're master of none right so although you can apply this on glass Plastics chrome wheels and paint it performs best on the paint that's what it was formulated for initially and glass is a bit more tricky so I prefer typically using dedicated glass coatings on glass surfaces so that's why afterwards roughly six to seven months ago uh I decided to apply uh the uh Stoner invisible glass on the uh the vehicle and also before that we had the soft 99 um Ultra glaco applied on my girlfriend's vehicle so that lasted 10 plus months almost a year so that one is still my favorite uh glass coating took first place in my car detailing products Awards video by the way if you haven't seen that check out the latest 2023 Edition uh which was released uh late August 2023 at this point so you're going to see what are my top picks for every products okay enough talking so we're to the point now we did again the um bug and grime remover we snow foam the vehicle rinsed that off cleaned the the wheels and tire stats done we're ready to do the contact wash and we're going to check the hydrophobic performance to see if there is still water beading if the beads are still tight if there's still adequate sheeting basically is the coating still present all right guys so the good news is we can tell the pre-wash on its own already did a good job to remove a lot of that uh Grime that dirt probably a a lot of Road film and traffic film of course the bug guts with the bug gut remover and now we're going to use carpro descale as we're going to wash the surface so carpro decale again this is an acidic pH level shampoo that you can use either in your foam Cannon as part of the pre-wash or inside your wash bucket as we did here for the contact wash and so this is supposed to help break down of that a bit more of that road Grime Road film that might be on there but mainly for any mineral deposits you can also use a water spot remover if you have any water spots on your paintwork but this can definitely help break that down and also strip away any remaining light kind of quick detail sprays or your maintenance sprays that you're using if you want to start fresh with uh with a new topper and just leave your coating underneath as we're doing now so we did the contact wash agitation is always needed by the way uh after you're done with your pre-wash snow foam there's no such thing as a 100% contactless Car Wash so now we're going to rinse and we're going to observe the hydrophobic properties well the water is sheeting at a very quick rate as you can tell the water beads are very very round very tight uh very intact we're still getting getting I'd say probably over 95% at least 90 to 95% of the initial performance so definitely the protection is still there there's even spots like this where it's almost completely dry so this using a leaf blower or a car dryer you blow dry your vehicle off no contact uh if you want during the drawing stage and it's super quick super efficient and there's zero chances of scratching or marring the paint so let's look at the hydrophobics once again on the flat panel then we'll move to a vertical panel [Applause] look at that what do you guys think that is amazing all right let's have a quick look at the sheeting rate as well so let's drop water pull it up and see how well this does and there you go so all this is pretty much bone dry at this point so very quick sheeting I can tell tell that the coating is definitely doing its thing it's doing very very well let's move to a vertical panel okay guys same procedure for the vertical panel we have our M loaded with more of that soapy solution with a carpro descale so we're going to wash this panel so the contact wash is really what helps to agitate also whatever leftover gind traffic film filth is left on the vehicle potentially okay let's do the glass surface as well all right so now let's rinse and have a look at the performance on a vertical panel cuz on the uh top surfaces Coatings often do well but as you guys might know if you've had a Coating in the past uh the usual failure points is in the lower parts of the rocker panel or the doors cuz that's where it gets the majority of the brunt of the stuff on the road so we hope to see water beating water sheeting and all that good stuff wow so it's doing well super well hopefully you can tell on camera it is quite obvious we're getting tons of those water beads very tight even in the bottom here uh the beads are perhaps not quite as perfectly round as up top but still this is very good again over 90 to 95% so we're still very close to the initial uh performance we when we applied this in October of 2021 so 2 years later uh let's have a look at the hydrophobics once again [Applause] very very quick sheeting rate all right let's try the sheeting and there you go look at where we had that water come down this is essentially bone dry there's almost no water left on the surface very quick sheeting very good beating so uh yeah overall fantastic performance from the cating all right we're continuing the torture test with the iron remover from DIY detail uh the majority of iron removers by the way when they're in the bottle they're pH neutral and they only become slightly acidic when they're reacting on the surface so basically it does an exothermic reaction and through that reaction it oxidizes the embedded iron particles that have Jagged edges accelerates their oxidation makes the surface rounder hence more soluble in water and that's how you can flush those embedded particles away once you're done using this uh never use in direct sunlight the iron removers and never let them dry on the surface so we're going to apply and we're going to see if there's anything on there I always like to apply the iron remover of course on a clean surface so they work better that way soz I get that question asked Often by the viewer should I apply the iron remover before or after I wash the car so you would wash your car first cuz don't forget you want your chemicals to do the job they're supposed to so instead of this being applied on a dirty car and having the iron remover have to fight through the dirt and grime before it gets to the iron particles well wash your car first and then it can focus on its task same thing for tar removers wash the car first before you use your tar removers same thing for water spot removers wash the car first before you use your water spot remover so while we're waiting for the iron remover to complete its reaction on the painted surfaces let let me clean the windshield here with the Soapy solution clean the glass so we can have a look at the performance of the uh Stoner invisible glass ceramic coating so they claim one year of durability it was very very easy to apply on the surface it's one of the most DIY friendly uh glass Coatings that I've ever applied and we're going to see close to seven months later is it still there is it still performing is it going to get close to its one year of durability let me rinse it from this angle all right guys so we can tell unfortunately in the center of the windshield uh the coating seems to be pretty weak so it's still sheeting as you can tell but at a much slower Pace compared to here where the wipers don't necessarily wipe off so here we have the beating and the sheeting as expected uh and here it's pretty weakened I would say so it was performing well up to the roughly 5 to 6 months uh of durability uh not sure I would say this is a one-year cating at this point um however uh we have to take note that um this is a vehicle that wasn't as well-maintained as my own vehicle would be mine I wash uh twice Weekly right so this one here washed once a month uh deconned every now and then with a maintenance wash every 2 to 3 months uh but no Toppers were added on the windshield itself so we kept just the glass coating so the performance is okay on my brother's vehicle uh similar in terms of performance according according to what he told me but his is completely neglected unfortunately uh he doesn't really take care of his vehicle uh he barely washes it in the last year he's moved to a brand new home so he was super busy doesn't necessarily have the installations or or ease of uh access to pressure washer garden hose and all that stuff um and so yeah I'm seeing the same performance as on his uh both of them prefer the soft 99 Ultra glaco coating because we tested uh that coating as well on their windshields and so uh yeah roughly I'd say six to seven months uh of durability in these conditions it was properly prepped it was properly applied but I'm not seeing the full performance especially here where the wipers wipe so you also have to manage your wipers when you have a glass coating um because the friction well will eventually will remove so if you're using your wipers too much well you're obviously going to damage the coating so I would have liked to see tons of beating and sheeting as I had seen with the ultra glaco from soft 99 so that one is still number one in my Awards and still very good job for the stoner so good price uh very very easy to apply if you've never applied a glass coating before uh you can get it wrong and uh yeah some viewers are having great experiences with it as well so leave a comment uh down below what has been your experience with the ceramic coating uh from Stoner invisible glass all right so the dwell time is done for the iron remover and let's go ahead rinse that off and see if we still have all that wonderful beating and sheeting that we saw through the wash stage [Applause] oh yeah that's beautiful look at that so of course tons of beating on the hood that's pretty amazing and on the vertical panel here let's have a look at the hydrophobics after the iron remover [Music] wow fantastic quick sheeting tight round water beads it resisted so the the paintwork has resisted to bug removers a ph13 snow foam an acidic pH shampoo an iron remover so it did the whole 9 yards it's still there it's still kicking strong so uh yeah so guys what are my final thoughts of the atoms Advanced graphine ceramic coating well after 2 years 4,000 km or 25,000 mil it is still kicking strong uh we're looking at easily 90 to 95% of that initial performance uh so it's pretty much intact at this point uh as you saw fantastic water beating fantastic sheeting the gloss is still there the slickness is still there um the price it is on the expensive is side there are other Coatings that are less expensive uh however is it the easiest to apply no it is obviously harder to apply compared to the regular uh graphine ceramic coating from Adams their silver label um but it is by no means super complicated like we had codings six to 7 10 years ago that were very tach on removal you had to stress out uh with the um the the the removal the buffing off time uh the temperature humidity settings go crazy on those be worried worried about high spots and all that stuff so uh it's still if you've applied a wax for you can apply a coding and it has the UV Tracer technology in there with the UV light if you want to see that so it can tell you basically if you applied it uh in a uh very uniform pattern on your surface if you have even coverage so that's a neat trick I haven't seen any other coding do that um so that's pretty cool check out again the first application video if you want to hear more about the UV Tracer technology uh so kudos to the team for coming up with that the downsides because the performance is very good uh the downsides is the expensive price it is quite expensive uh again check the links in the description for the most most up-to-date prices but this is a 60 mil bottle so one bottle is more than enough uh to coat at least two average size cars if you have a larger vehicle or if you also plan on covering uh your glass your Plastics your wheels the paintwork all that stuff and it's a bigger car uh perhaps look into getting two bottles uh but again one should get you pretty far um the application is fairly decent chemical resistance as you guys saw then this is not the first time uh we do kind of a maintenance wash with different chemicals on it so it does resist alkaline pre pwash snow Foams it does resist acidic shampoos no problem bug removers iron removers no issues whatever chemical Decon you guys need to do of course again don't use the harsh chemicals like the um alkaline pH shampoos like the autofoam from built Hammer the pre-washed snow foam or their other one which is touchless that's a ph12 this one is a ph13 you only use that once in a while as needed so perhaps once every other month or every 3 mon months or at the start of a new season to remove a bit of that deeper Grime Road film traffic film that kind of stuff that's when you'd bust out those pH uh pH High alkaline pH uh shampoos but for your regular weekly washes guys pH neutral snow Foams is all you need and a pH neutral car shampoo is all you need as well uh Adams have their own graphine shampoo uh which by the way after speaking with Chris gallahar the chemist who Blends those products many people think that the graphine is in there to add protection it doesn't really add any protection uh it's in there to add more lubrication in that specific application um so it's a great maintenance it's a bit stronger than their traditional Car Wash shampoo so a bit more bite to kind of unclog the coating pores and get your properties restored because a lot of people when they see water laying flat on their coating assuming that the coating has been properly applied so you prepped the surface well before that you went through all the steps you applied it correctly uh you gave it sufficient curing time and you follow the instructions and it's well within its uh durability claims so let's say it's a 7-year cating you're only 2 years in it should still be performing well so sometimes when people see that there's no more water it's just pooling there's no more beating and all that kind of stuff they think the coating is dead well no sometimes it's just because there is Road film traffic film oily substances or Grime that basically because if you look at a paint uh from an up close through a microscope kind of view you're going to see that it has Peaks Hills and Valleys so the coating goes kind of in there to help flatten the surface hence that increase in gloss and reflection uh but Coatings are also well they're not perfectly flat so there can be Grime that accumulates over time and you're masking that coding's performance so by unclogging it removing that traffic film Road Grime and a bunch of crap and dirt that still might be in there uh well you're helping to restore the properties and that's what I've seen time and time again with the majority of quality Coatings from good brands and the graphine ceramic coating Advanced version is no exception from Adams so it is still kicking strong as you guys saw I'm curious to I want to know uh your um kind of output or outtake on this if you guys have applied the advanced version let me know how is is it doing for you cuz it's probably been out for roughly 2 to three years at this point um so it hasn't been out obviously for five or seven years so nobody has had the time to test it for that long but for me it's doing well so in the Montreal Canada weather on a vehicle that is decently maintained so washed once a month uh and every two to three months the maintenance wash with a Topper on there so we followed the procedures it's doing quite well and even when we tried to do a barrage of chemical Decon that I don't necessarily recommend that you guys do of course every week uh it still survived with unscathed no absolutely no problem uh and actually compared to how the hydrophobics were uh at the beginning when we did all these steps they actually became even better so now it looks great it looks fantastic all that's left is for me to dry the vehicle apply a topper for the next two to three months until its next maintenance wash in this case Caro reload 2.0 I hope you guys love when I give you an update on these uh products and uh the performance the durability all that stuff again the um ceramic coating for glass by Stoner invisible glass uh roughly 7 months at this point the performance in the center has diminished quite a bit there is still a bit of sheeting so the coating is still probably likely there um however it's more present on the sides where the wiper blades are not wiping so that friction seems to have affected this coating a bit more than I would have liked um however super easy to apply great coating if you've never applied a glass coating before and certainly more resistance than a few of the glass sealants that only last a few weeks to a few months uh so it's a great uh thing if you guys have tested the stoner invisible glass ceramic coating let me know how is it doing for you uh it's always good to have feedback drop a comment in the comment section and yeah guys I hope you enjoyed all of this again the links to the tools the products the equipment in the description for you guys to check them out in the meantime don't forget keep it tight keep it clean and I'll see you on the next one
