[Music] what is going on guys it's Justin from the J media back with another video so from the title of this video you guys already know it is the 2year anniversary with my Honda S2000 so this is the car we'll be talking about today this car has been a dream car of mine for about 4 years before I purchased it I've manifested having this car and owning this car so while a lot of you guys might have different dream cars more expensive dream cars cooler newer dream cars the S2000 has always been one of my obtainable dream cars for 4 years now before I got it 2 years ago in 2022 and for those of you guys who are new to the channel let's introduce this car this is my 2007 Honda S2000 uh this car I got pretty much stock fairly stock and pretty much all the modifications see on it is done by myself um so really proud to own this car little backstory um I've wanted this car like I said for a few years and I specifically wanted a 2006 and up ap2 and why 06 and up is because of the drive by wire um I also specifically wanted a car in this color the Milano sorry not Milano red but the new formula red U so this color I've always loved and uh can go wrong with a red sports car in my opinion um if you guys don't know about the S2000 uh this is a sports car made by Honda people usually know Honda for like your Honda quartz you know your Honda Civics something that's reliable um but but Honda made the S2000 um one of the only few rear whe drive cars sports cars from Honda only comes in a manual transmission so uh yeah true sports car um you know besides the NSX the S2000 is also another uh crowd favorite when it comes to a sports car that's well balanced okay so enough me renting about the car uh but this car to me like I said it's really special um and let's go ahead and talk about about you know what's been done to it so far um so like I said I I have it for 2 years now picked it up in January 2022 and actually made the trip to Louisiana out of state to pick this up I had a budget in mind I wanted the red I wanted the car to have only two or three previous owners um I wanted the car stock or as close to stock so I had to travel to find it but I'm glad I found the car that I wanted um so over the course of the last year every year I like to make a yearly update video of my cars and like I said this is year number two with the S2000 um so not too much been done to it yet but quick rundown first year of ownership uh Chang out some stuff like the wheels um these are the spoon s 388 Wheels uh we sold the OEM wheels and these are 17x 92 plus 60 offset I'm running a square setup which a lot of guys run for track or autocross they like to run a square as compared to staggered um tires I'm running is 255 all around uh these are falcon RT 660 tires pretty grippy so 255 407s um love the grip on it great tires Great Wheel setup love the stance on it uh and then I did change out one of the headlight still OEM but one of the headlight when I got it wasn't in great condition so I swapped that out uh let's see what else I've done year one I believe I also did swap out the seats year one of ownership I still have the stock leather seats but can go wrong with caros um also the red this was intentional these are the sr4 uh Bobcat seats nice little red to match the red um I did get the OEM floor mats these are OEM red floor mats so really nice most people see the black ones um let's see what else on the interior I did swap out some stuff um last year I was using my old steering wheel setup on my Lancer which is the vertex steering wheel this is a different steering wheel setup that I just swapped out uh actually in 2023 so we do have a Works spell short Hub a work spell and Night Runner International collab uh quick release and then over here we have the Momo ASM steering wheel so really nice leather steering wheel uh we also paired it to some nice chasing JS uh titanium bolts these are actually chasing JS and grat collaboration so really cool limited run I believe uh we have your modifi bracket for your phone there um mugan carbon fiber shift knob we have the arc shift plate some JDM bling I did Swap this out um leather uh we have spoon rear view mirror um we also have spoon sight mirrors as well on both sides slight blue tin to it we have a dash Canam for CH tow I think for the interior that's about it um I also did swap off small little stuff like over time these little knobs were kind of um pain was cracking was fading so I swapped out i s OEM ones and swapped these out common issues on older cars uh let's see I did edit a duck bill cbon fiber OEM style duck bill uh this is an oem Honda batch OEM from Japan most people usually see the red one I was able to Source a black one custom license plate spicy s spicy because of the color red and asra S2000 cbon fiber uh license plate frame with the mugan uh license plate bolts uh and then over here you do have an exhaust setup uh this is one of the few things that came with the car but I actually already love it this is the HKS uh dual exit exhaust so I love HKS as a brand and honestly I was going to rock either HKS or a jce racing a Tomy exhaust setup jce racing told me will be super loud so HKS is a lot more toned down U love the pitch and fun fact you guys didn't know the HKS dual exit is actually the exhaust that was on Fast and Furious Johnny Tran had it on his black S2000 so pretty fun fact okay so on the exterior oh I also did swapped out in 2023 some spoon windshield wiper blades JDM points small little details um and one of the biggest things that I did in 2023 was upgrade the front bumper uh 2022 I did Source an oem lip but I wanted to get the voltex bumper so I did actually acquire this Bumper in summer 2022 but I weighed at one year until I got it painted and mounted on the car so summer 2023 was when we actually got it painted at Longs Automotive um it looks amazing this is an authentic voltex fromont bumper from invasive Motorsports so this one has uh it's painted red and then has the carbon fiber lip and this is a street version not the race so Street version of the carbon lip uh if I ever want to go race set up I can buy the splitter as well as the canards which I do actually have the C fiber volx canards um those came in a year and a half later I finally have it in the garage uh but yeah I'm still debating if I want to run the Canard setup because I like the clean look but but um with the canards it look more aggressive so leave in the comment section below what do you think should I run canards or not and besides the front bumper we also went ahead and did some Fender work um the previous owner I guess had his fenders a little roled so I actually had the fenders fixed they're all fixed up and nice and smooth no more bacon fenders on both sides uh and the hood needed some touch-up paint so I was like might as well repaint the whole front end so we have fresh paint on the bumper the two fenders as well as the hood so the entire front end is all fresh paint also did swap out some of the bulbs over here this is all new um I know on the o fenders has the S2000 badge we do have that but I have yet to go to the shop to get it mount it So eventually we'll do that uh let's see what else I think on the exterior that's about it to be honest uh let's go ahead and talk about the engine bay what M's been done as well okay so just pop the hood let's check out what's been done underneath the engine me okay okay so over here in the engine bay quite a lot has been done I got the car stock and I did swap out quite a few stuff during my 2-year ownership uh so this part right here the arc intake is actually see the very first part I bought for the car and and fun fact this intake right here I actually bought a few years before I bought the car um this is something that I I knew I was going to get at S2000 eventually I actually do have a voltex racing Wing back there that I bought in 2019 and I believe this intake I want to say I bought it in 2020 or 2021 um and I only bought the car in 2022 so I've been sesing up rare parts for a while now so yeah the arc intake was one big thing that I bought um discontinued and rare you guys know I love my rare JDM Parts uh and then we also did source and Arc this is the arc uh radiator plate so pretty rare discontinu part as well uh let's see what else we did swap out the radiator to a COO R radiator uh we do have a mugan radiator cap uh some chasing Jace titanium goodies radiator brackets speaking of titanium uh we also have more chasing J titanium goodies right here this little cover this little battery tie down we also upgraded it to the uh new batteries Optima battery smaller and lighter weight uh we also have this uh I guess you can say titanium style uh ASM brace this is actually an xrace that goes all the way down gives it more rigidity uh let's see what else and then you can't see it but I did I did replace the starter because it went out you know old car problems uh new slave cylinder we do have a new clutch which is something you can see 2023 we did upgrade to the science of speed 325 I believe was the name of the race uh clutch so feels pretty much like OEM uh but I just decided it's time to upgrade it cuz my clutch was feeling a little spongy uh let's see what else and over here pretty recently we did add on this uh Arc spark PLU cover um I did swap a few setups I went from OEM to the ballistic one and now to the arc one which I love I also do have the arc uh rainbow gradient one which he rocks for a little bit as well so I actually have four spark covers for the S2000 we do have an mugan oil cap here but I also do have ERC oil caps uh and I think as much as engine bay mods that's about it Ste naturally aspirated I don't have it tuned yet eventually we do plan to tune it uh I do want to keep it naturally aspirated for as long as I can because High reving any engine is something that I love oh and something fairly recent that I did was the dash cam I upgraded it to a different dash cam but this rear view camera so whenever all right back up that's something that older cars like the S2000 don't come with um but yeah all in all I think that's about it 2022 as well as 2023 especially 2022 has been building this S2000 that has been the focus and it definitely came quite a long way since I got it so it is not quite as crazy as like my Mitsubishi Lancer show built but that thing I've been building for 8 years versus this has been 2 years um the plan is I do want to build this to be badass it could be nice weekend car it could be taken to car shows could be taken to occasional track days or autocross so I want it to be a nice all around car and let's take you guys in the garage so here is the wing setup that I got I know it says jce racing it is actually a voltex Racing type 2 Wing which uh I bought back in 2019 from uh uh regim ma owner of Nightrunner International um this was actually sold off a dc2 Integra I did try to test fit it it didn't quite fit so it's a little bit wider on the trunk of the dc2 than the s000 over here we also do have an extra set of raay wheels these are Ray te37s in Blast bronze 17 by 92 plus 45 offset these actually idle boost back uh a set of all four wheels and I've been debating rocking the setup but I don't know I might sell them I just want too many wheels for the S2000 you know these are the spoon Wheels I did get them uh brand new so I do have the spoon boxes here and then the race wheels so anyone interested in S2000 spec t37 brand new never mounted hit me up with my DM these are 17 by 92 plus 45 in Blast bronze comes with stickers and everything and I forgot to mention but uh in the car even though we have a Caro seats we do have have bright seat brackets so the irony but uh bright seat brackets actually they were for the S2000 I was looking up the Forum and that's what I always recommended so went with bright seat brackets and over here we do have the OEM seats sitting in there okay so let's talk about plans for the S2000 in the upcoming year 2024 let's go ahead and move it back in the gar first before we do that one thing also I did pick up this S2000 key when I bought it it came with one key just a black uh I guess you can say backup key I have to get the special S2000 key so I went to the Honda dealership to purchase it pretty expensive but I think it's worth it because look at that key it's just it's just so special says S2000 on it so let's go ahead and fire it up key in push to start and there it is the backup camera so cool definitely does help out having a backup camera in the older car okay we have the Honda S2000 all back in a garage beside her garage friend my Mitsubishi Lancer show build so plans for 2024 you know to be honest um there are do a lot of things I want to do to the S2000 a lot more parts I want to throw on it but I do have to say with every new build obviously it takes a toll on my my wallet so some of you guys might know we did pick up this Lexus RCF uh 2023 so I did sell two cars I sold my 8 gen Honda Civic SI Coupe uh that went to an owner in Atlanta Georgia and then I also sold my uh Mitsubishi Lancer rard sportback and that went to Nashville Tennessee so sold those two cars picked up this car as my daily driver absolutely love it but I'm trying to slowly build this up and trying to still build this up and it gets expensive having two builds at the same time so yeah too many kits to feed for S of problems but uh try to stay focused here um four plants on the S2000 for 2024 uh I was going back and forth like I said with the aggressive setup um I do have the voltex canards they're actually sitting in the box back there uh and then the voltex Wing I was really hoping to mount it but unfortunately it didn't fit so what that means is that voltex Wing um having it for sale as well if anyone's looking for a Vex type 2 Wing came off a dc2 Integra so anything with a trunk similar size to that you want to fit it on um hit me up let me know uh but yeah I initially the plan was to make this thing pretty aggressive kind of like the Mitsubishi Lancer so I'm talking about Canard it's a splitter a carbon fiber hook a big Wing diffuser so really aggressive time attack setup look um I still might want to go that direction eventually but for now I think I'm going to enjoy it in the o plus look as it is I think it still looks really nice and mean love the voltex fromont bumper as much as a lot of guys have the voltex bumper um I personally this is my favorite bumper and this is an authentic voltex bumper which I probably paid a little bit too much for but it is what it is I love my JDM parts so uh yeah I don't know if I were to do the canart setup that means I have to drill into the voltex bumper um it's going to be a snowball effect of wanting to get a carbon fiber hood uh I do like the jce racing carbon fiber hood uh some other options that I do like is I do like the spoon Hood as well I do like the various Hood um ASM Hood there's so many options for the SU ,000 uh some vented fenders would be cool um I have had the opportunity to pick up the EVS tuning fenders but I did not uh I really do like the uh legalo ASM fenders so we'll see and then some guys like to go white body but I don't know maybe we'll just stay stop body for now because we already do have another wide body car in the garage that's super aggressive you know so maybe I'll keep this one a little different what do you guys think should I go aggressive or should I keep it OEM plus and then also with the wheel setup I do like these spoon s SW 388 Wheels not many s2000s that I know of are rocking these setup and if they are they're they're rocking the 16s these are the 17s and these are S2000 spec SW 388 wheels so I don't really see the 17 ones um so yeah it's pry rare setup uh you don't see often on the s2000s and super iconic when you hear of Honda you know two brands that come to mind are spoon as well as mugan so um initially I wanted the Holy Trinity of wheels for the S2000 meaning the spoon Wheels a bronze set of t37s which I have and the mugan mf10 but now that I have another build maybe I should let go of some wheels so that I can get wheels for the RCF but uh let me know what you think do you guys think I should keep the spoon s SW 388 setup should should I throw on the t37 setup or I also kind of want to Source the mugan mf10 um recently King Motorsports did release the mf10 for sale again so yeah should I rock a set of mf10 let me know and another thing that I've been contemplating doing is swapping out the head lights or tail lights these tail lights nothing wrong with them OEM tail lights look great but I do love love the car shop glow V3 tail lights absolutely love them they do cost quite a pretty penny So eventually I think we'll swap those out for now I think I want to keep this set up so again I have a lot of plans for this car but I'm not sure exactly when I want to put those plant into effect and with steering wheels I can also swap out steering wheel setup um I was eyeing the mugan steering wheel for a while but I love the ASM steing wheel I actually bought this from my buddy uh when I went to his shop in Malaysia so really cool I brought this back on the plane uh and kind of go wrong with ASM they make great parts of the S2000 uh we also do have the ASM crossbar in the engine bay which kind of matches um I've also contemplated going heart top if I do I love the mugan heart top but those things the mugan carbon fiber heart tops are hard to find and so expensive I've seen those heart tops go for like $10 $10,000 which is insane but um for now probably just rock the setup with the soft top also I am a strong believer that you want to drive a convertible at the top down so as crazy as it might sound I've driven this thing top down in the harsh Summers here in Texas I'm talking about above 110° F summers in Texas top Town people probably think I'm crazy I've also driven in pretty cold Winters well in Texas we don't get super cold but I've driven top down in this thing when it was in the 20s 20 something degree Fahrenheit which is super cold that's below freezing too so short drive but still people probably think I'm crazy so yeah to sum it up 2024 uh there are a lot of stuff I want to do I'm not sure how fast I want to do them if I'm going to buy parts in 2024 for the S2000 um and I'm honestly still kind of debating that the Direction I want to take I think my focus for 2024 is firstly letting go of duplicate Parts uh my garage is almost becoming like a Parts Warehouse so we have like a wing that I can really use we have extra setle Wheels we have another front bumper up here for the Lancer uh Canard I just have Parts everywhere so I think instead of buying more parts I think it's time to purge and sell some parts I think my wife would like that too uh so you know selling Parts would give me extra cash flow extra cash flow means more parts for the cars so um yeah that's probably what I'll be focusing on 2024 um and honestly S2000 is a great car it drives great the way it is so for if anything I do want to drive this car more um to it out on more spirited drives doing a nice weather um really just like driver mod as what they would say right just driving it more uh just enjoying the way it is and fixing small little stuff um there's one thing that if I do want to do uh in 202 before I might and right now we do have an offthe Market single D radio from Pioneer works great Bluetooth works and all but I've been debating on upgrading it to like a touchscreen hit unit with Android auto Apple carplay so join mix one that I can put right here Google Maps and everything let me know uh I would do that only thing is I believe I have to lose this door which I do love this S2000 door nice and self so let me know what you guys think should I keep this door should I just swap it out to a more modern hit unit some people say it doesn't go well with the S2000 I've also toyed around with swapping out the door carts these are black and they work great they're in amazing condition but I would love some black and red ones as well um so yeah do you guys think it'll be too much black and red or you think it'll TI perfectly let me know and if you guys are wondering if I'm going going to boost the S2000 whether supercharged or turbocharged like I said I don't think I will at least not for now um I'm enjoying it it's one of those cars that it doesn't make a bunch of power but it does make fun amount of power um so this car when you drive it around town being the ap2 slightly bigger 2.2 L engine it's okay but when you put in VTEC it feels fun it doesn't go crazy quick so it doesn't really get you in too much trouble um but yeah I mean you can't go wrong with you know rear wheeel drive uh manual uh uh you know convertible sports car Roadster so uh my opinion is still one of the best driver's cars ever made um so yeah I think I'm going to wrap up the video hope you guys like the 2-year recap on the Honda S2000 I'll be making a three-year video in January 2025 and then the Mitsubishi will be turning 9 years old with me in November this year and then we also have the RCF which will be turning Oney old
